Great teacher! Takes a difficult subject (writing) and helps people to succeed. Even though she doesn't skimp on the amount of work, the pace isn't too bad.

Great teacher, took her online english class and she was always helpful if a problem arose in the readings, and got back to questions quickly.

Take her class! Even if you don't need to, find a way to take her while at Gavilan. She is one of the best professors at Gav. The classes are always fun and interesting, especially learning about the different theories of literature--like psychoanalysis and Jung theory. Always fun, good pace and work load, and very, very, fun.

Outstanding Instructor. Learned a lot from her. The class as a whole is mentally chalenging but easy once over all the difficult learning.

Erin was very accessible and answered all of my e-mails, whether or not they had anything to do with the class. I took this class online, so I've never actually met her.

i took her class cause it fit into my scheadule, and i need the class for gen. ed. but at the end of the semester i was almost comtemplating changin my major to english, it was that fun. never have i enjoyed being in a class so much before, as i did her class.

My first on line class! Erin was excellent. She answered every question in a timely manner and made me feel like a pro! I look forward to taking another class with her.

Erin is an excellent instructor. She is interested in her students and is very encouraging. She has the ability to guide her students to improve their writing skills. I particulary liked the American Culture theme she used for Eng 1A. The controversial topics were interesting to explore.

She is a great teacher, makes the class fun and keep us interest on many topics that brought up to the class. I'm trying to enroll on one of her classes next semester

What a fun and enlightening class. I loved that we read Harry Potter - I totally got addicted to Harry after that. Ok, so I took the class a while ago but I was just remebering what a great experiance it was.

This was my first online class. Erin was a wonderful instructor who took the time to work with everybody. She was very attentive to students and getting to know them. She always kept you thinking and made you actually want to get into your work.Responses were always prompt, and she never hesitated to give help when needed. Very down to earth. A++++

She's a great teacher! She's fun and actually loves her job and classes. I would recommend her for anyone needing to take an English 1B class. I took it only because I needed to, but she made it interesting I have to say. Work wise there's a maximum of 4 essays you have to do, the rest of the homework is relatively easy.

I had Crook online so I can't really say what she is like. She seemed like a very understanding teacher and gave me feedback on all my work. She made it clear what had to get done and the website was easy to navigate.

Such a great and helpful teacher

I have been fortunate to have such great English professors at Gavilan. Erin is truly passionate about writing and teaching writer. However, not to point that she believes all her students will become English majors; that's why she is so great. If you are willing to put the effort into this class you will become a better writer.

Erin in great! If you're having trouble with writing essays, she is the one! Most teachers assign you a topic, but she lets you choose them; anything and whatever interests you!! I can now write a 3+ page paper without any trouble. She is a lot more laid back than most teachers. I learned a lot from her class and she helped me grow as a writer.

Erin Crook amazes me. She has a background in child development and applies it to the college classroom. She's easy going and clear. The essays we wrote were on sex and gender, and I liked them a lot. Take her id you want a great English 250 experience

Although attendance and participation are mandatory, it's the most fun and interesting time you spend in any class. Not an easy A, but the work doesn't feel like work. This teacher cares about her students, and in the autonomy she gives them to follow their own interest and passions, it shows. She'll help you fall in love with learning again.

The best English professor on campus. Her class is relatively easier than other English classes. There is a good amount of reading/essays, but its an enjoyable atmosphere that makes it easier to get through. Go to class, do your work, youll be alright.

Best teacher I ever had, ever. I dont know how she does it but she makes you forget youre in a classroom. Shell ask a question and get the students balls deep into discussion, and then somehow, no matter what youre talking about, will relate it back to the days lesson in some profound way. I learned so much in that class, not just writing. A++

Erin (she likes to be called by her first name) is a good instructor. That said, she's very slow to grade and isn't particularly responsive to emails, but when she finally does answer your question or give you feedback, it's very detailed and helpful. I'm not that good at English, but her class was easy enough for me. Show up, you'll be fine.

She is amazing, one of the very few teachers that actually cares about the student before anything else. If you're having a hard time due to life's circumstances, she is very understanding. Her lectures are so eye-opening and she is so open minded. Her lectures are more like discussions and not her talking nonstop. She is funny and extremely smart.

I had Erin online during the summer. No lectures. Most of the papers are based on personal experience and observation but there is some research too. Very lenient on assignments and offers so much extra credit. The only bad quality she has is responding to emails and grading assignments late. Make sure to read the books of the course ahead of time!

Professor Crook did wonderful with teaching this semester. Really enjoyed her class, I was slightly worried I would get a lower grade due to how many assignments there were, it was tough to catch up. I took a condensed course so it added a lot to the workload. However, she offers extra credit opportunities and is very clear with her requirements.

I really enjoyed her class. She had great topics. This class is easy to pass, but only if you do the work. Most of the work consists of essays and discussions. She gives good feedback on almost every assignment and is easy to reach out to.

Professor Crook was amazing. I took the accelerated 8 week course. Lots and lots of assignments. But learned so much from her about writing. And get ready to write because you'll be writing a lot! This was a great class, it was focused on childhood versus adulthood theme. If you have to read the gardener in the carpenter good luck lol. Loved her!

Erin crook is an absolutely amazing teacher and she wants you to win. She wants you to succeed and she gives you the opportunity to turn in work after receiving feedback to make corrections. I took a hybrid class where it was half the time so I did have quite a few assignments due a week. I'm also taking three other classes and it was manageable.

Erin was a great instructor. She gave clear essay directions, fair (but not too easy) grading, and genuinely cared about her students. Her TA, Josh, was super helpful and replied to questions within minutes. I'd definitely take another class with Erin:)

I took this class my first semester back at school and I was very intimidated, however Prof Crook set me up for success. She provides excellent scaffolding to students and was able to draw out work I didn't know I was capable of. Love her.
