She can be strict, but she's very fair, and really nice when you get to know her. It's because of her that I'm even half as knowledgable at Spanish now, she has a good teaching method. If you want to learn spanish, take her class, and practice, and make SURE to turn in all assignments! Seriously, missing any can hurt.

Prof. Mommer is a really hard working instructor. She is fair, makes you work and gets results. If you really want to learn Spanish, take her. If you want an easy A, please don't annoy the rest of the class.

Excellent teacher, fun, energetic, animated, loves teaching, wants you to pull your own weight. Do the HW, study, speak span-you will do all right. Lots of group interaction, lots of varied activities, never boring! Great extra curricular web activities to use. Loved the classes!

Mommer is an awesome teacher!!! =Þ I had her for 101-103. There's daily homework, but it's useful. She does many games and activities in class. It might not be the easiest class (it was fairly easy), but if you really want to learn the language, take her! If you're looking for easy credits and don't want to participate, please don't take her class.

It sounds exaggerated, but I really recommend for you to take her class if you want not only to learn perfect grammar but also to gain real communication skills in Spanish! She is passionate, animated,and loving to teach! I especially loved her experiences, which inspired me a lot!

I didn't like her much at the beginning of the quarter, but soon enough she became one of my favorite teachers. Yes, she does give a lot of homework, sometimes a bit too much, but in the end it's all worth it.

I am not too fond of Mommer's teaching. You have a lot of online homework to do everynight and you teach yourself the lesson first, then she goes over it in class the next day through games and activities. Her passion for spanish and teaching is refreshing though, and she is very enthusiastic.

Even though she does make you do the assignments the day before you discuss them in class, she does a GREAT job of clarifying everything the next day. Her tests were long, but if you came to class and did the homework, then they weren't too hard. Good Teacher!

Mommer has high expectations for her students but also is very helpful to us that need help. I learned to speak Spanish from her which is the most important reason to be in the class in the first place. If you don't want to learn and do homework than you probably shouldn't be in college.

Oh boo hoo everyone a class with tons of homework. Learning a new language takes a lot of work. She is an amazing person, she has so much passion for the language. She has great body language and expression which really helps because she teaches in Spanish. I am lucky enough to be in a class with only 8 others, I have got to know her. She's great.

You would be crazy to not take this teacher. I took the spanish series expecting the worse but I fell in love. I want to continue through spanish 200 level. Fernández Mommer is without a doubt my favorite teacher that I have ever had. Even while facing adversity, she found a way to ensure her students were okay. Her passion for Spanish and life made me want to show up to class everyday. Before this class, I feared speaking Spanish. Now I want to become fluent. So grateful to have been in her class.

Though the online class had a lot of reading and other busy work it was interesting and she responded to questions asked as well as joining in the discussion forums. She worked hard to fix a problem with canvas that plagued the class all semester.

I've taken Mrs. Mommer multiple times and she's definitely a great teacher. Though she assigns lots of online work, she's very helpful when you have questions or when you're confused about anything. If you're taking her language class, try to keep up and do well on the tests, as she is more easy going in a class where the students are doing well.

The beginning of the quarter is overwhelming with tons of homework everyday. Spent hours everyday after class to study for Spanish. She is really funny, caring and gives good feedback. Her lecture style does not fit me because I am more of a meaningful conversational learner vs she gives the class too much new vocabs every week. Very nice Pro tho.

The Spanish department at Green River will definitely get you to Spanish fluency if you apply yourself. Mommer created a study abroad program and is very dedicated to her students. I would take the class again if I could fit it into my credits!!!

Great class! I learned about all of the people, languages and cultures of the world. I also made a connection with my classmates (a lot are from all over the world) and learned personally from their cultures, from them! We even got to experience a bit of all of the world's languages through Rosetta Stone.

Erin was probably one of the most caring professors I have ever had at Green River. She genuinely wants you to learn and offers resources if you need extra help. I was more excited to tell her I got into UW than my own parents, she's like a second mom. Spanish is a very difficult subject for me, but I really enjoyed Erin's class.

She's one of the most caring and personable professors at Green River. I would highly recommend for anyone taking Spanish to try to get her as a professor. She teaches a lot through immersion and although it is intimidating at first it will make you more fluent faster than you expected, and will make you surprisingly comfortable with the language.

Humanities online is such an incredible class. I had never known so much about language and culture. I would take it again.

The People, Language and Culture course was about 1-2 hours a day but it is online completely and the class doesn't meet face to face. Solid class Students who are griping here obviously are not ready for college or shouldn't be in college if they can't read for two hours . Most classes have at least 1 or 2 hours outside of class just to prepare.

Erin is one of the best professors at GRC. She cares very deeply about her students and wants to help them succeed. She'll grade generously if it's clear that you're giving your best. Everyone in her classes loves her. Take her class if you want to go into Spanish.

Took this class in the spring of 2016, this is one of those classes where you should be looking at canvas daily because there are quite a few assignments posted, most of the assignments themselves aren't too bad. The big thing you need to watch out for is the exams she does they are all in book purely so if you haven't read you will get a badscore

show up to class 4/5 days. do your hw online and pass the tests. one 10 sentence presentation worth 100 points, automatic 100% if you do it. and a 10 sentence essay.

She is my best professor ever. She gave us a lot of extra points! (more than 50pts) There are 4 chapter exams, daily online HW, and Final presentation (most of students got 100%). I believe most of students who attended the class everyday got GPA 4.0!!! If I have a chance, I would like to take her class again.

Online class with weekly discussions, but if you do them on time, do the daily reading (and possible reading quizzes) you will end with a good grade. Biggest points were the mid-term which is essentially a paper on your own culture, and the final which is essentially an essay on a culture completely unrelated to you or your culture. Although some people say there lots of homework it really should only take about 40 minutes a night which is not a lot considering its a college course and youre learning an entire new language. Great, caring professor. The class has a LOT of reading and quizzes. Don't take if you don't have time for daily online quizzes. The instructions and syllabus are a bit confusing. Erin has the right intentions, but I can speak on behalf of the whole class that she has very inconsistent standards, such as due dates and grades. I became extra frustrated when she would speak in Spanish for 90% of the class and then zoom right through the grammar, leaving everyone super confused on the actual concepts we were there to learn

For the most part, this class is one of the easiest classes that I took so far in my one year at Green River. The students just need to do a daily reading, daily Pearson quizzes, weekly quizzes, a discussion, and six small papers in total. She takes a long time to reply back to e-mails though and, her rubric is rigorous.

I absolutely LOVE the professor! You're required to attend class daily for weekly participation grades. Daily assignments are on MySpanish Lab but it's easy and doesn't take long! Tests are easy if you study and she's not a tough grader. There's so much positivity in her class! Try your best and you'll do great! You won't regret taking her class <3

One of my favorite Professors of all time. She's funny and kind and most of all real. Is there a lot of work? Yes. Is it a college language class? Yes. Best language teacher I have had, you can genuinely tell she wants to help! The class has a lot of daily homework you must do, but if you do your homework and study daily the class is easy and you can talk to her if you have questions. She really wants to see you learn.

I thing I like best about Professor Mommer is that she's really enthusiastic about teaching. We don't always get to cover the topic of the day, but we still get time to have a conversation with other students which is really helpful when learning a new language. She doesn't teach by the book and her classes are always engaging. Would recommend!

I enjoyed Erin's class and feel I learned a lot, the only thing is that the course isn't super geared for online work, it's a little clunky. However, we learned about interesting topics and she made sure we had lots of group speaking time, but it's important to participate and use Spanish!

Took HUM 133 this Spring and LOVED it! The class is focused on helping students understand how language shapes our perceptions and the part it plays in culture. Phenomenal class, it was a positive experience and the professor was super responsive.

I LOVED her class! I started out taking Spanish 121 as an elective and decided to stay for all 6 levels! Now, I speak Spanish and took the assessment and scored advanced low on the proficiency test because she inspired me to continue and that I could do it! She developed a study abroad program to Spain!
