I found Dr. Gibbons to be a great professor. She always came to class prepared with great notes and always made herself available to answer questions. She made chemistry very interesting and easy to understand. Her grading is fair and if you do the homework and come to class everyday, you will do well. I highly recommend this class with Dr. Gibbons.

I had just taken Chemistry from another professor at SCCC the previous quarter and Dr. Gibbons was truely a better instructor! She is extremely nice and truely executed a wonderful course that brought my previous grade of a c up to an A-. Chem is difficult, but Dr. Gobbons made it easy to understand and I now intend to continue on in Chem. Thanks!!

Dr .Gibbons has an almost stream-of-consciousness lecture style that can be hard to follow. If I hadn't taken chem before I would have been completely lost. Spent a LOT of time in lecture trying to get us to teach each other concepts, which doesn't work when no one knows Chem. Once she scrapped that, the lecture portion improved. Labs were fine!

Get ready for dedicating your time! The class basically has wamap and aleks two parts, and lab (pre-lab, post-lab) of course. Follow the class schedule and the homework/lab due day, then you will be good. Dr. Gibbons is willing to help if you have any questions, overall I would say she is a teacher who would like to make chem easy to understand

If you are not able to teach yourself, do NOT take this course. It is a lot of teaching yourself and finding outside resources. The professor isn't good at answering questions, but she does try. You can help yourself by staying on top of assignments and really focusing on your worksheets. Find a good group of students to get through it together.

Dr. Gibbons provides every resource you'd need to REALLY learn chemistry. Some students find the ALEKS too hard but I found it helpful to understand the concepts being taught deeply. That said the actual quizzes and tests are earlier than those of ALEKS. Students who have a hard time following instructions may find this course challenging.

SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS CLASS AND WOMAN, way too many aleks work, quizzes are timed less than 15 minutes usually, you gotta teach yourself almost everything, she's extremely rude, there's just too much going on, wamap is a website used to do work as well and is very confusing. Save your mental health and do an online class or a DIFFERENT TEACHER.

Dr. Gibbons is a devoted teacher and wants students to succeed. The pace of her class is fast. The first 2 weeks were quite challenging for me due to ALEKS (time-consuming!) and getting familiar with her class dashboard (WAMAP, not Canvas). Give yourself time and you'll get up to speed. Students are expected to work hard. Don't give up!

So much stuff to do. I feel like she overcompensates for the class being hybrid by assigning so much work. Workload is insane to me and a lot of it feels unnecessary. She's also passive-aggressive and has a short fuse. Very confortaional and if you miss 2 labs (without telling her ahead and figuring out a make up) you will fail!

I really dont like her and her class. Way too much work and her emotions and thrive for everyone understanding the curriculum just as she does (which is impossible bc we're literally students??) is way too high. She is so passive aggressive and rude quite frankly. She claims at the beginning of the class she loves questions she's lying!!!!

I truly hate this class and want to throw up at the memory of my registering. So much BS homework. There is like a MILLION things u must do to stay afloat. I am almost done with the quarter and still discovering more and more mini hidden participation assignments. The professor is horrible and of no help. Quite mean. Disgraceful class.
