BEST TEACHER EVER! Three tests throughout the whole course INCLUDING the final. Barely use the book because her test is based on the notes and she gives you a study guide ahead of time. Lots of extra credit points. TAKE HER!!!! :D

This professor is great! She made the subject very interesting and I enjoyed learning about it. There's hardly any homework, useful & fun classwork, very few tests, and extra credit opportunities. The tests are True/False, Multiple choice, and short answer. (open book) The final is NOT accumulative which I loved. I'd absolutely recommend her. :)

Took 8 week summer course. Book was helpful to use on tests. In class assignments. Watch movies & answer questions in class. 1 supernatural project at end. 3 tests. Can use note cards and book on tests. One extra credit assignment on one of three topic she comes up with from people not knowing things in class she will than use it to assign credit.

Awesome instructor. I always looked forwarded to going to class. She gives PLENTY of extra credit opportunities and will try her best to help you if you're struggling with the material. She is an actual college professor that can teach! It's sad that that's surprising nowadays. Highly recommend her.

The magic class was really interesting. I learned a lot with Professor Moran. The term projectpaper wasn't too hard and was actually fun to do. I struggled to find someone to interview but Moran helped me out. You need to attend class to get the lectures notes. She doesn't post her power-points online. Exams are open book and flash cards.

This is my second time having Dr. Moran as a professor. Her lectures are very entertaining and informative. I actually enjoy attending her class. It doesn't feel like learning and they are amazing. She is very well respected by many students, she is understanding, funny, and she loves teaching. I'm going to enroll with her a third time. :)

She is great at what she teaches! I love anthropology 121! It was fun and I learned a lot about magic, witchcraft and religion and their variety of differences. She's very sweet and truly welcomes questions and will help you if you need it. Totally recommend her!

i had Moran for anthro 101 and the lab 111. she's such a great professor. lectures are most important. take notes because you can make them into flash cards for the test. book isn't really necessary if you take good notes. no papers

A very fun class to take! I took her for both Anthro 101 and 102. Passed both classes! One with a 118% and one with a 99% PAY ATTENTION and TAKE GREAT NOTES. Flash cards will save your butt on her tests, especially because some questions are very tricky if you don't know EXACT details. HIGHLY RECOMENDED! Loved her classes and the zoo project!

I had her for anthro 121 and she was amazing. I learned so much and when it came time to do my proposal, i had trouble finding out where i could go. She was very happy to help me and gave me many suggestions. She keeps the class interesting. Attendance is mandatory and all the notes are taken off of powerpoints

She is the best professor I had this semester I definitely recommend taking her. She makes her classes fun and you still learn something out of her lectures. I had a 3 hour class with her and time honestly flew by with her. She makes it clear on what she wants out of the students and always goes out of her way to help her students.

If you show up to class and follow the study guides for the tests there's no way to fail. Seriously good teacher always willing to help. A few homeworks, around 3 tests, participation and extra credit make up the grade.

Just took the summer sessions with her. Amazing professor. Very clear on what she wants. 3 open book tests with as many flash cards as you want. Be sure to show up to class since she doesn't post the notes online and there are class work packets that boost your grade. I've only been in her class this week and I can already see she's amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and immensely socially aware. Seems very kind, and she's determined that her students do well in her class and are respectful to everyone around them even if there are disagreements on subject matter. She's also hilarious and adorable.

Professor Hayes is a great Anthropology professor! I took her over summer and had a great time learning anth102. We had 2 writing assignments and three major tests. On the tests she allows flashcards and helps students understand the core topics of anthro in a short amount of time.

She does open textbook tests. Your grade is basically made up of tests, participation and two hw assignments that she goes over beforehand. Her lectures aren't too boring and the material is reasonably interesting. Show up and you can pass. She even gives extra credit if you go to her office hours.

Professor Hayes' class was fun, informative, and fairly easy. There are three exams, two homeworks she guides you through, and short written "participations" that you need to attend class to get points for. She isn't intimidating, makes jokes throughout lecture, and is straightforward, all while teaching about the biological side of anthropology.

The class is interesting, her lectures are engaging and thought-provoking, and if you prepare in advance, the homework assignments (3 short papers, short weekly quizzes, & ethnographic readings), it's not that stressful of a class. Erin is hilarious and grades easily as long as you show up and finish the in-class participation. The exams are open-book and open-flashcard, so just fill as many flashcards as you need. Other than that, she's an easy A.

Did not use the textbook once throughout the semester. Easy tests (3 of them), 2 homework assignments (that took 15 minutes to finish) and weekly handouts for notes. She also allows as many note cards with notes as you want for the tests. She is an amazing professor and her lectures are not even that boring, just make sure to take all the notes.

Prof Hayes is an amazing prof! Shes very helpful! No textbook, but she did give us short readings that we had quizzes on. Each week has a quiz, a lecture, (which are on the midterms), etc; Has two non cumulative midterms every six weeks. She uses Proctorio only for midterms and final; it records you on your webcam to prevent cheating. Take her!

Great professor, has clear rubrics and expectations. The prerecorded lectures were great, they provided the majority of the information for exams, the rest of the information was found on discussion assignments, articles and the short films that you were required to watch. Overall, a true gem of a professor, she's also accessible through email.

This is one of the easiest class that you could find. No homework and weekly reading quizzes are not hard. Only 3 tests including T-F, multiple choice and some short answers but you can use unlimited 3x5 note card. The professor is caring and her lecture is also interesting. You also have to show up everyday because participation is important.

She is very approachable. 3 non-cumulative tests, and can use amount of 3x5 flashcards to put on answers before the test. Assignments are in canvas and you can finish them all in advance. Miss 2 classes and you're in danger; no phones or laptops; she does not give her ppts online too. Extra credit is a 2% up on final grade. It's a fun class!!!

Her lectures interesting and will help you learn a lot about language and how it affects who we are. There are 3 big test and a quiz every week on canvas for readings she provides. Everyone was involved I acquired more from this class than 4 of my other classes put together. She has her Ph.D. and it sure shows. Go visit her at the office hours, in class, she has an amazing technique that makes the terminology friendly. She is the perfect mother figure. A true humanistic vibe and it shows in her lectures. Pretty much just show up to class on time, take notes on the lectures, and you'll get an A. She lets you bring in as many flashcards as you want for the exams. Has weekly online quizzes that are really short and easy. The only part that i didn't like about the class was how strict she was on attendance. Otherwise, easy A. Lots of extra credit.

Took the five week Anthro 101 course. Expected to be overloaded but it was very manageable. Uses proctorio so make sure you have good computer access when taking her online. Quizzes are difficult but she allows note cards so if you prepare your cards you will do well. Clear deadlines, very straight forward. Great instructor!

Four of the weeks there is no quiz and there is a 3-5 paper due on a reading (half of it is summary and the other half your opinion). Every quiz is online and open note. You are allowed to bring in as many notecards for the exams - I just took notes on notecards the whole semester and got an A on every test. Professor Hayes is an outstanding professor with a lo of knowledge and most prominently field experience, providing an extremely interesting course where you learn about different cultures and other belief systems She is very passionate (important), caring and flexible. Presence and participating is key. Would definitely take a few more courses!

Prof Hayes comes up with really interesting lectures! She covers pressing issues that are relatable to today's current events and her class feels very safe to express all kinds of opinions. There is plenty of points to earn and her grading is not that tough! Her attendance is also very lenient but its also participation points just for showing up.

I have taken Prof Hayes several times, online and in person. While this class is an easy A, there is a decent work load. Lots of reading each week and anywhere between 1-3 assignments along with a weekly quiz but it's very doable! You can take the quiz twice and she offers LOTS of extra credit. SHe's kind & wants her students to do well!

Took her in-person Fall 2023. Her class was extremely easy, with most days being a lecture and a simple participation assignment. Participation makes up most of the grade. Quizzes on reading and lectures every now and then. Had a group debate near the end of the class. Easy A, fully recommend.

Professor Hayes is truly such an amazing professor, who is very knowledgeable about linguistics. She truly made me want to become a linguistic anthropologist, and made learning about linguistics so much fun. Make sure to come to class because she will assign participation for being on time and in class which is worth 50% of your grade.
