Bad powerpoints (posts them online) and speeds through. Rarely anyone shows up to class, but I think she does a decent job explaining stuff sometimes. Homework is a LOT more nuanced than what she covers in class. Gives partial credit on exams, doesn't drop the lowest. She's new to Binghamton, not sure about teaching in general but seems like it.

One of the nicest professors I have ever had. If you show up to lecture and read the textbook and ask questions, you will do well. The tests are not hard, they are just representive of all the material, she just wants to know you have some idea of what is going on. THE AVERAGE IN CLASS WAS HIGH, compared to other stats classes in Binghamton.

Mediocre professor. Lecture isnt bad, most people dont show up. She had six "quizzes" which were basically exams. Makes easy material more difficult on the exam and it trips people up. Class average was in the low 80s which is silly for the material. Paper/projects offshoot your grade even if you do well on exams. TA grades everything.

There are 4 tests a semester, and each subsequent test is harder than the last. There is HW on Mindtap, so you have tobuy the online txtbook. She posts the lecture slides,so you don't have to go to class. First half is easy (mean, median, mode stuff) but second half is more difficult and she can get easily tripped up when teaching. Txtbook is helpful

Her lectures are straight from the textbook, dont really need to attend class if you keep up on readings, tests are extremely long which can be frustrating when you know even the smartest person in the class cant get an A because he/she did not have enough time to finish the test. She is not the most knowledgeable in statistics, as she would make mistakes in class frequently. Although she is understanding, the material was sometimes more confusing because this is not her area of expertise. There are 4 exams, first two exams are extremely easy, and the last two have significantly harder material. Homework goes into grade.

She was absolutely, 100% okay, not life changing and not horrible. Class is optional, as you can get everything from the slides she posts and the mindtap hw. It's not a terribly hard class if you have algebra down and can memorize some formulas until they start giving formula sheets. That said, it is very test heavy. Again, not bad or great, but ok

Supposed to be an easy course but Jant made it harder than it should ever be. The material does get harder but isn't unbearable. However, by the 3rd exam no one was able to finish the exam. Pretty bad - the class is graded only on 4 exams and the homework assignments, which leaves you very little room for error. Dr. Jant is an amazing professor. She does as much as she can to make it easier for her students and it is evident. This class was kind of hard because of the material, but if you like math, then it is very doable. Class averages on tests were low, but no curves, so you have to study relatively hardly to do well. Do the extra practice on Mindtap.

Presentation heavy, but honestly way more manageable than I was expecting a senior seminar to be. Whole class is virtually reading exp. studies/scholarly articles which can get old, but it definitely made me better at dissecting them. Since almost every class is student presentations it can get boring, but easy A. Plus she's secretly hilarious

Jant was okay as a professor. She just reads straight from the slides and it seems that she doesn't like teaching Psyc stats. I would try to take Psyc stats with a different professor. 4 exams and homework sets. Screw up one exam and you're done. Math requires constant practice and the homework is super easy compared to the exams. Try to avoid.

It's really not that hard to pass psyc stats with Jant. Tests are fair and there is a hw set for every chapter and the hw is honestly harder than the tests she gives plus you get to drop 1 hw. If you like math then you'll get an A and if you don't - as long as you study and show up to review sessions or office hours you will be fine!

Definitely take Jant for a psych seminar. As with most seminars, it is discussion based in which you have to show up and participate. Reading heavy, but you learn how to dissect articles. 2 presentations, weekly discussion questions (you create 3) one final paper. I find Jant to be hilarious even when the class material and discussions are dry.

Jant is an okay professor. I'm not the best at math, and Jant mainly read off of her slides for most lectures. I felt like I had to really sit and teach myself a lot of the material. Moving to online she was generous in giving us one test drop. I feel like she didn't like teaching stats which made it harder for her to get the info across. I'd avoid

Prof Jant is ok. Her lectures are all over the place and you have to teach yourself a lot of the material using the online textbook/homework. When we went online, she went MIA for like 2-3 weeks and didn't post lectures timely. Other than that, she's funny and sweet and tries her best. The online homeworks help a lot.

It was straightforward to do well in this class. The lecture slides were helpful and had a lot of practice problems. You have weeks to complete homework sets and they were harder than the test so it was a good way to study. The textbook helped as the material got harder but overall I put in an average amount of work compared to other classes.

For a math class, Jant does a fairly good job. Her tests are fairly difficult, but if you study they should be okay. Lots of memorization needed to succeed, especially with some formulas. The homework is tedious but helps you understand the material. Lectures are very dry, but that's unavoidable.

Most of grade is 4 exams, but you can bring it up slightly w/ hw. Lectures go exactly by textbook; the math itself is very basic. Most difficult part is having to memorize formulas for the exam. Jant is easy to understand & accessible for help in office hours. If you do practice & stay on top of material, it's very possible to get an A.

Basically been Khan Academy but far less helpful and way more expensive. The class is asynchronous so you can't ask questions, her only office hours session is not during any of the regularly scheduled class periods, and she refuses to accommodate people who can't make it because of another class. If I learned anything it was not because of her.

Took this course while it was asynchronous during Covid. I liked not having to be present during class times. Your grade is almost completely based on the 4 exams though, and the homework barely does anything so there are very little grade boosters which sucks. You basically need 90s on all the tests to get an A in the class which is majorly hard.

I don't think the material in this class was difficult, but the way it is set up online makes it difficult. You teach yourself the material because her lectures are prerecorded already and in the exams you can't backtrack. Probably would have done better if the class was in person. She doesn't drop an exam like the other professor so consider that.
