I actually enjoy her class. She's witty and seems nice; I've never personally met her. She does come across, initially, as a pretty harsh, brute-like woman. That sounds rude, but I don't know how else to put it. Either way, she is extremely clear with what she expects from you and I would suggest her as a prof.

I highly reccomend taking Prof McGuire's class. Her lectures are interesting and never boring. This is a class you'll look forward to! Prof McGuire has an awesome Scottish accent and is slightly eccentric, which I find totally endearing. Prof McGuire's exams are easy if you've attended class and read the assigned readings. LOVED her class! The key to succeeding in Dr. McGuire's class is to attend as many lectures as you can! She goes over everything explained in the textbook to make it crystal clear; easy course load, fairly good exams and good blog questions. HIGHLY recommend this teacher for any 1st year students at UVic. Overall great prof, great class!

She's an OK prof. I've had better. She doesn't use a mic so she yells during lectures and has lots of "hmms" and "hahs" while trying to explain things. The class itself is a super easy A as long as you do your quizzes and tutorial homework. Minimal studying required for the midterm/final. A great GPA boosting elective.

Erin was fine, I did not like her lecture style and I found her exams to be very general, you end up studying everything with no guidance. The majority of my class failed the midterm. She did not provide a study guide for the final, assuming everyone is able to memorize 7 chapters, along w/ lectures, tutorial notes, and additional readings.
