Mrs Reaume was and amazing professor took her online class fall 2016 very clear at what she expects, not a lot of work. quizzes are like 4 questions open book. Had a lot medical issues this semester she was very understanding and prompt at responding. She makes her self available for any questions you might have. Would take her again
I really enjoyed her class! It was my first semester back to school in about five years, and she was great. She explained everything, and was quick at responding. Would definitely recommend her!
I absolutely enjoyed her class! She's so passionate when she teaches and knows her information well. She's quirky, funny and really nice. I recommend taking her British Literature class. There is a lot of reading but the reading isn't boring at all, they're very interesting, I promise. I had fun in her class. Read, ask questions and work hard.
She is very helpful and understanding. Class is not hard at all, just pay attention and take good notes. Quizzes and tests are extremely easy if you paid attention to the books and movies. Gives extra credit too
awesome teacher!! gives a lot of reading assignments and then you just discuss the material with your group the next day. a few quizzes and there was only like 2 pop quizzes out of the whole semester. She's a pretty chill person and will work with you if you follow directions and pay attention in class.
Read!!! The less people read the more pop quizzes she gives. Its all easy as long as you read whats assigned.
From the first day of class she said, "my class is not going to be easy." She made us do a research paper, a final exam, and a presentation all on the same day, which no other teacher would do. I wouldn't take her again and I don't recommend her.
Mrs. Reaume is trying to make her class harder than it already is. She gives too many quizzes on the reading homework. She gets mad at people that don't do their readings that she actually kicked half the class out for not reading because she could see that our quiz grades were horrible that day and she let them continue reading in the library.
Horrible maymester class. Horrible experience. Nice teacher but sets her students up for failure with 20 30 40 pages of reading everyday with quiz following morning. Assign 2000 world essay with 40 page reading due next day for quiz. Resulted in kickin more than half class out to library to read
Took her for Maymester, she is not as bad so bad, but too many readings, too many quizzes, and thinks that we have no life. If you aren't working while taking her course you will be ok, but if you are working, then she is not the best choice. She does not like it when we don't do our readings. If you don't read you will miss about 40% of your grade
By far the worst English teacher that I have ever had in my life. She is angry about reading. She gives too many readings even when the final paper was due we had to read about 40 pages for the quiz on the same day as the paper. The class wasn't easy. I felt like she wanted us to hate our lives because there would be no other meaning for her action
She is a good teacher. Her work is reasonable for a regular semester, but a bit too much for a Maymester, she treated it like a reg. semester(a lot of reading hw each day, daily quizzes, a paper, presentation & Final). I still recommend taking her class if you're up for the challenge. I struggle in English and I passed the class. She's really nice
She treated her Maymester like a regular semester (each day is 1.5 week) so yes there were a lot of daily reading assignments & quizzes. She didn't cut the work load, but it's doable for a regular semester!!!!! Also had a paper, presentation & Final (most questions are from quizzes). I recommend taking her, it won't be easy but still a good prof.
just read and you will be fine
i took the maymester class, was a lot of homework but if you attend the class and do homework, its an easy A. Her quizzes and exams are really easy. The research paper is kind of lengthy but she offers a lot of extra credit
Took her for Maymester and we know maymester isn't the best. She was clear on what she wanted, the class was 2 weeks long so it was A LOT of reading, I think she would be a good professor for a regular semester. Readings count and make sure to study. One research paper and one presentation, not too bad. Use online study guides, thank me later :)
I also took her class during Maymester. It was a challenge, but a good one. She had big expectations for us. Do your work and you can make it. Other students were complaining about work load, but wait until they get to a University. It's doable. It was a lot of work, but I learned so much in the short time. I would definitely take her class again.
I have enjoyed this class quite a bit. She is very easy to get in touch with regarding any question with he homework. And is flexible if you ask. A lot of the topics were challenging for me due to the underlying bias tones. But I was able to state my opinion and still receive a great grade. there's extra credit as well. She gives great feedback.
Professor Reaume is very genuine and enjoys teaching literature! Her class was a lot of work but it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the creative options that she let us do for her projects!
Lots and lots of writing, but it is an English class. Topics essays were very controversial, you will be writing about police brutality, racism, morality, etc. She's nice and friendly but she is a STICKLER for details when it comes to formatting and APA guidelines and will deduct a lot of points if you aren't perfect. Not an easy A.
This professor is very knowledgeable and cares about the success of her students. She will hold your feet to the fire but really just wants you to know the material. You will not just get by.
The worst professor Ive ever had. DO NOT TAKE HER. I told her from the beginning Im not good at English and writing but yet she somehow graded harder. For multiple assignments I received a 0 on things I turned, most professors would give partial credit for effort but not her. Mr. Reaume will set you up to fail, her material is very difficult.
I took Prof Reaume for both ENGL 1301 and 1302. There were lots of papers but its expected for comp. I actually enjoyed the essays because she gave a clear and easy rubric for rough drafts, gave feedback and gave extra credit if you also got feedback from TCC writing center, and the due dates for final drafts werent due for weeks after.
I took this class in the summer as my first online class ever. The teacher is really nice and she seemed to really care how well everyone did in the class. She is a stickler for MLA 8 format so make sure you're always sharpening those skills. She also opens the assignments early so that you can get ahead which is helpful.
She was amazing! She showed grace to those who contacted her about issues, very flexible 10/10 highly recommend!!
Professor Reaume was a good teacher. American Gothic was the sole focus in here and focuses on heavier material. She is a tough grader, but she does give good feedback especially if you email her. She's not too lenient on late work, but as long as you talk to her about it before the due date, you're all good. Her extra credit is amazing though!
Took this class in my first semester after 15 years out of school and took an advanced 8 week course on top of that. Professor Reaume was fantastic for those able to structure themselves and adhere to a preset workload. Her communication is fantastic. An exorbitant amount of extra credit is available. She provides clear and valuable feedback.
was AMAZING. first semester was really easy and nice going but definitely picked it up the second semester. Her communication is GOLD. got back to me within hours or maybe a day. Best professor ive had by far! :)
A really great teacher, I have had her twice and each class I grew exponentially. She gives really awesome feedback and she uses the textbook very well in order to help students learn. I also love that she uses relevant topics to write and read about. A great class a great teacher 10/10!
Professor Reaume was understanding and provided specific feedback on graded assignments. The work is pretty simple if you dedicate time to the class. She's very strict on MLA formatting, but that's something that you should know for every class. Overall, I enjoyed this class and believe that the Professor was extremely open to helping her students.
Even though some of her assignments might be a little bit difficult, she gives good directions and clear feedback, plus she gives you extra time when it comes to papers. Her class might be a little bit hard but she really helpful!
She was a great professor for a completely online course. She leaves plenty of feedback so you will never be left wondering why you got the grade you got. She is a very fair grader as well as a stickler for MLA. Make sure you always use the correct citations and be prepared to read a decent amount of literature.
This professor is the worst professor i have ever had. I had trouble with some of my papers and she said i would need to re write for specific reasons. After asking multiple times for help with them, as well as MLA formatting, she refused to help me and just told me to re read the book. I said i still didnt understand and yet no help was given.
Really nice and personable teacher who is extremely understanding, work is not that difficult and if you put effort into this class you'll get a grade that matches it. Follows back up on emails very quickly, and helps as much as she can. Would most certainly take this professor again!
Professor Reaume was an excellent teacher who shares her love of English with her students. She always has a positive attitude and comes ready to take on her classes while keeping a smile on her face. The work she'll give is easy but be expected to read. I was never overwhelmed with work so I actually got to enjoy taking the class.
She's a wonderful professor! You just have to be ready to read a lot and put the work in for the grade you want. She has been pretty helpful to me as when I struggle she offers extra credit opportunities or if I am struggling to understand an assignment she explains it very well to me.
Although as a person I do not particularly care for her, simply because of how her personality is compared to mine, she's a good instructor. The lectures are a bit boring but the assigned readings have always been entertaining. Her criteria is always specific and most details are not left to our assumptions, which I greatly appreciate.
Professor Reaume is a wonderful instructor. She gives good feedback that helped me improve on my assignments. She emphasizes the importance on citing and reading the textbook. Professor Reaume also provides opportunity for extra credit and is very organized when it comes to assignments. Overall, I would take her class again.
Professor Reaume was a great instructor in British Literature this year. I was afraid to take this class on the first day as I wasn't great at English to begin with, but she changed that view for me as she allowed me to be interested in the literature and extraordinary characters. She made the class fun to be in, and I definitely recommend her!
She is a great professor who is very reasonable and personable. She is very understanding that life happens outside of her class. As long as you stay aware of your work and do not procrastinate this is a great class that you should enjoy.
Professor Reaume is very organized. Her canvas page is always clear and up to date on weekly assignments. It is important to be involved in-class discussions because these will help to better understand the reading material. This understanding will help greatly on the writing assignments, quizzes, and exams. If you're involved you will succeed.
Professor Reaume is an excellent instructor! While she is very strict on MLA formatting, she also gives very specific feedback that helps students understand what they need to improve on. The assignments are very forgiving, as you have multiple tries on both tests and quizzes, and you have the choice to work in projects or alone for presentations.
This professor is a good teacher and is diligent in making sure we understand the assignments and expectations. Even though we do a lot of readings, we also sometimes watch the film of whatever we read and talk a lot about it during class to get a good understanding.
We are given an average amount of assignments. They are all due at the end of the week. She is very specific with what is required for each assignment so your grade will always reflect how well you followed the rubric. Professor Reaume is very kind.
Mrs. Reaume is a very energetic professor, and is very helpful. Be prepared for group projects and watching great movies that relate to your studies.
Prof Reaume was the absolute best professor Ive had for an English class. English isnt my best subject but prof Reaume understood and would work with you through whatever. Definitely recommend reading your assigned readings and thats about it.
She is a really reasonable and caring teacher, if you have any questions she easy to approach and talk to.
Good Prof but grades harshly.
Mrs. Reaume is by far the best professor I have had yet! She is more than happy to answer any questions you have and responds to emails very fast. You can tell that she is invested into your education. She assigns very interesting readings and films to watch, and I did not find them boring. She grade according to MLA guidelines quite strictly!
This class was not necessarily hard but it did require work. She makes this class very fun and is very understanding when it comes to extensions and help. My learning has been impacted positively. I want all my other professors to be like her.
Professor Reaume was very helpful and compassionate about what she was teaching. She came to class with a good attitude everyday. You are expected to come prepared to class each day and engage in class discussions. Professor Reaume is very helpful inside and outside off class. You will like her!
She is incredibly kind and fair with her students. While she is a tough grader, she provides her students with a lot of extra credit. Everything is clearly outlined in her syllabus so stick to it! I really enjoyed this class and having Erin Reaume as my professor.
Prof. Reaume is a very good instructor who loves her work. Has a very student-friendly structure. The course was not for me and far outside of my interest level but Professor Reaume made the course enjoyable for me.
The workload was pretty heavy for me along with the other classes I was taking, but she offers lots of extra credit.
Professor gives group project but you do have the option of doing them alone. Defintely have to do reading outside of class before the lecture. There are discussions in person so make sure you read. Understanding, reasonable, and rubric for assignments are very clear. Directions in assignments are clear and are usually due on Sundays.
She has a very fun and intriguing class. She has a mix of lectures and reading to go over the information. The reading assigned are required to do so you can do good on the tests and quiz's.
For projects, you can be in a group, tests and quizzes are open notes, can be taken three times but are averaged out.
There are a lot of class discussions that will help you understand their materials. She gives a lot of grace for grades, and offers extra credit. However, she is sometimes not clear with her feedback on your projects and is very strict on using MLA format. Her MLA format is also different from your English Comp 1 class
Professor Reaume is very reasonable when it comes to grading, she also gives lots of extra credit opportunity. Group work is encouraged and all quizzes are open notes. As long as you read the material you should defiantly get an easy A.
She is a good teacher and relates our courses to real life. She lectures and has class notes available as well. I liked how organized she is. There is a good bit of reading and work in this class but it is a literature class so you should expect to read in any literature class you take. She is a bit strange but in a good way. Take this class!
Professor Reaume is a good professor that will definitely try her best to teach you the material. That saying, the class isn't an easy A, and she definitely grades hard on writing stuff (She's really big on MLA format). We had 3 projects and no tests (besides Mid and Final Exam). The assignments were pretty easy and there wasn't a lot of writing.
Lots of groups discussions about films that participation is required in and specific formatting criteria for essays
She is super nice and super understanding. She allows us to ask for extensions on every assignment and she grants every single one. She does take off weird points but besides that she grades fairly.
Professor Reaume is a good professor and makes class enjoyable.
Professor Reaume is an amazing professor. She will give you a reasonable amount of work to do and when submitted on time, she will take time and give really useful feedback. She is also very kind and I would definitely recommend taking her class.
She Is a good professor, this is a really easy course and I recommend you take it especially if you don't even want to learn English. We watch movies and write about them. I'd recommend it if you're interested in a course that requires no effort.
She is a very nice and understanding teacher. She doesn't grade harshly at all and gives many chances 4 retakes. There has only been about 3 assignments max that are due every week and we have until midnight Sunday to get them done. Her assignments are interactive and for my year specifically, we did lots of film study so keep an eye out for that
I really enjoyed having this professor as my English Comp class, it primarily revolves around film studies and creativity. The professor is very kind and has clear communication and is willing to work with you as long as you communicate. English is not my strongest subject, however, I was able to gain a really good grade.
My favorite English class Ive ever taken.
Keeps the class in discussions to help understand the material.
Prof. Reaume overall is a good teacher. Her assignments are not overly difficult and she sets easy criteria. The class was very organized and easy to stay ahead of. She is also very understanding and allows extensions even up to the day an assignment is due. The only way this class would be difficult is if you didn't try.
Professor Reaume was very understanding when I was going through personal problems. She helped me to ensure that I would still pass her class, while making sure that I was still learning the material. The class was detail oriented, but everybody was still engaged. She made sure that we enjoyed what we were being taught and were always ready:)
She is a good teacher who wants you to succeed in this class. You are able to have extensions for your work and she gives you a lot of extra credit if you need it.
This class revolves around films and their analysis. It's fairly easy as long as you turn in your work and listen to her feedback. It's honestly an enjoyable class when you like the film and actually understand how to analyze it.
Professor Reaume's class is so much fun. This semester we analyzed English Comp through film. She is always willing to work with her students when they are struggling and always gives out extensions on assignments when requested. In the class, she holds her students accountable to due dates and keeps people on top of their work. I loved this class
Professor Reaume did an amazing job lecturing and delivering content development. I would have to say this is one of my favorite English classes I have taken and I feel as if I truly learned a lot from her.
Professor Reaume is an exceptional teacher. The class is fun, the homework is easy, and the discussions are interactive. Especially in an English class, I dread coming to class and just hope the day is over. In Professor Reaume's class, I look forward to being in class every day and am excited for what we will learn and discuss in class.
This class was very interesting and unlike any class I have taken before. Definitely not a show-up and pass the class sort of course but only requires a little effort to get an A. The mixture of movies and lectures is great for visual learners and some of the movies are new and intriguing.
Professor Reaume is a fun professor who's class is more film based than english based. You write a few essays, but overall it is really easy. If you participate in class along with turn assignments in on time, you should be able to make an A . Overall, this class was very enjoyable and would recommend it to anyone who needs an english credit.
I loved her class!!! Being able to watch and analyze films from different years and of different genres was very fun. We also spent a lot of time collaborating with our groups and as a class, which I really enjoyed listening to and being a part of.
She is a good teacher and has a unique class that is based on film. It really changes your outlook on the cinematic world. I really enjoyed taking this course.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor R is awesome! She gave good feedback on all of my work, always answered any questions I had and even checked on me to make sure I was okay when I missed an assignment. 10/10 recommend her class and I will be taking English Composition II with her if she offers this course.
This professor is one of a kind. I really enjoyed learning with her:)
Although I passed with a D, the class take aways were very worth it.
Professor Reaume is truly amazing. She gives great feedback and has definitely helped me improve my writing. 10/10 recommend.
I love this class
Just do your work, try your best, and DO NOT cheat. Professor Reaume does not tolerate cheating of any form. I took this class online, but I liked it. Good luck if you take American Literature (ENGL-2327-86001) with professor Reaume! :)
She has very specific standards, if you look over what she expects from assignments, the work is pretty easy. If you manage your time then you should be fine. Always have the MLA powerpoint up in the background.
I really enjoyed the readings in this class!
She will push you past what you think you are able to achieve! In this class we do a lot of group work, class discussions and lots of analysis. Do not even think about plagiarism in this class because it won't fly and she will definitely catch you. Do your own work! She just asks for effort and dedication to your assignments and projects.
She is very balanced and logical with the way she grades and teaches. She gives great feed back and extensions.
Just format your work properly and cite everything. Other than that, just do your work on time and put in some thought and you'll get an A.
Best english professor known to man (and woman), one of the friendliest instructors you will ever meet, and gives such good feedback that your work will always be better than the last time you submitted it.
A lot of this class was spent watching movies relevant to the text we cover in class; very interesting way to teach! Projects are given with plenty of time to complete and are graded fairly.
The very good professor is very transparent with all assignments.
Professor Reaume is very understanding and does allow extensions on most assignments. She grades fairly tough according to MLA 8 standards, but usually if you do everything according to the rubric then you'll be fine. You watch a lot of movies that deal with what we are learning, however, they are all entertaining. YOU WILL LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She knows exavtly what she is talking about, she loves the course material and is always excited to share with us. She is always prepared and ready to teach.
Wonderful person and educator, she is super open to creativity and discussion regarding work and readings. Word of warning, study the MLA 8 citation powerpoint like your life depends on it... because your grade does. Other than that she is super understanding and willing to work with you as long as you communicate and respect her time and effort.
Professor Reaume is an amazing teacher. She gives clear feedback on the work she provides, explaining what criteria you need to work on if you missed it. She's very big on teamwork so there is a lot of group discussions on the reading materials. Overall, I would take her again if I could.
Professor Reaume is one of my favorite instructors that I have had in my education. She is very flexible if life happens, and is helpful in helping students understand the material and succeed. She is also not a crazy grader as long as your work is authentic to you and your analysis.
From the beginning, Professor Reaume has always been clear about deadlines, the course schedule, and what she expects from her students. This class was very interesting, from the readings to the movies we watched. Professor Reaume emphasizes the importance of MLA 8, which is helpful in being successful. She is a great professor who cares.
I loved taking this class with Professor Reaume! Be ready to discuss material and watch movies related to the subject matter.
As long as you turn your work in on time, read the grading rubric, and participate in class, you'll be okay.
Easy teaching style with emphasis on discussion, read ahead of time.
She is very specific about MLA citations and plagiarism. There is quite a few papers and she has you put up your phones and other devices for the whole class.
She teaches well and makes sure you get all the resources you need but she grades tough so make sure you are perfecting your work.
Gives good feedback but is not a good communicator with students.
She is nice and gives extra credit a lot. She also accepts extensions everytime and we get to watch movies.
The classwork is overall easy. The workload is not that much, as it can easily be done every week with plenty of time. There are readings in the textbook, but again, it does not take too much time to finish. I enjoyed the things we analyzed, from a range of movies, poems, stories, and podcasts. Overall, great class!
Very strict with due dates and provides no flexibility when perfectly capable of being flexible.
Very strict grader, but didn't really offer great feedback. Not very good with communication but does offer extra credit.
Good Teacher, strcit grader but offers good essay feedback. Really helped me significantly improve my writing.
Professor Reaume gives clear expectations as to what it is she wants. She also gives good and detailed feedback as to how she would like you to improve your work. She'll assign around 3 assignments per week, but they're pretty easy as long as you follow the instructions.
Professor Reaume cares about how we do in her class. She makes sure that we submit our best work possible and that we have every opportunity to receive help and feedback. Taking this class was 100% worthwhile.
She is really nice, but gives an essay like every other week. She does provide extensions if asked for ahead of time. She can grade kind of har, but overall I would take this class again.
She definitely wants everyone to succeed. She is there to always help and is very open to extensions. Overall 10/10 teacher. would recommend.
She's nice and if you ask for an extension she'll give you one. She cares about your mental health as well. She does make you participate in class though. Also there is group work involved, which I don't like but it's not too bad. One more thing, don't fall asleep in her class or she'll send you to the nurse.
very good profesor
Advocates for extra credit. Made me feel excited for the first time entering to an English class. :)
Her extensive knowledge in literature is easy to detect, and she engages the class in fun, participating conversations. This class has taught me the value of literature, film, and writing. She is extremely understanding and organized and gives everyone a chance to show their true potential.
Most of your resources on online. There's no leeway with late assignments even if you made a small mistake. Sometimes clear feedback is not given when needed the most and you are just referred to a tutor on the TCC website or told to look at slides for information. There's no real teaching.
This professor is very helpful and kind, this class teaches and helps you improve your analysis and writing skills while taking a different approach to the usual ordinary.
Professor Reaume is a great professor! She provides great feedback on essays and gives your essays back to you in a timely manner. She provides clear guidelines and provides you with plenty of resources to succeed. I definitely recommend taking her class.
Professor Reaume is a great teacher and person. She genuinely cares about your physical and mental wellbeing. She is strict about grades but clearly outlines them at the beginning of the semester. We did a lot of film study that was very interesting and fun! I would take her again!
Professor Reaume really helped me with my writing style and gave me a lot of help when needed. She is very nice and understanding.
My name is Zahraa, and I have taken two classes with Professor Reaume. Honestly, she is a very talented professor, she replies to emails. The only thing I suggest is that she can provide more explanations in some parts of the syllabus because for international students:) Other than that she is a very good choice for everyone who works hard:)
Overall, good professor and experience! Expects students to email, but never got a single email back...communication seems a little tough. Grading is good, don't expect clear or specific feedback though unless you question said feedback.
Two week maymester course, fast-paced, well organized. Rubric provided and used for all essays. Feedback provided on all assignments. Response time to emails was within 24 hours, that I have experienced. Extension on assignments was provided if the professor wasn't done grading it. Extra credit was optional as well. Overall, great class and prof.
The professor was very kind and understanding! I love the way the class is laid out. You are able to go ahead if you wanted to and complete future modules if they were open.
Prof. Reaume cares about you becoming a better writer and avid reader which are both great skills to get out of this class. There may be a lot of work but as long as your try and meet at least the basic requirements, you'll be fine. She gives great feedback that is always clear and specific which will benefit you on her future assignments usually.
Prof. Reaume was a really great professor. Her due dates are finite so make sure to schedule them in a planner as there is not any room for late work. If you message her in advance she is flexible with the due date. Any submissions made have detailed comments so you know where to improve and she gives opportunity for this. 10/10 would take again.
Do not take this class in summer....it is very fast pace and back to back discussion board.
Would not recommend this professor at all.
She is a very honest grader and gives students chances to fix work for a higher grade. In the course I took there weren't any essays but you did write a lot, however, the prompts were easy to understand and required you have a good understanding of the text being discussed. I highly recommend her as a professor.
Overall, this professor was great! She was timely and helpful in her responses. The class was difficult, but I think that it would have been difficult with any professor.
Professor Reaume provides students with an adequate amount of materials and examples for assignments. She also lets students know numerous times that she tries to answer all emails regarding class work as soon as she can. Overall Professor Reaume is an excellent professor who makes students feel welcome as soon as they enter the class.
Professor Reaume is a fair , but firm teacher. I did not have my books when class initially started so I had a late start. I was determined to pass her class and she was onboard with my decision! English class of any sort isn't easy for me but I found that her class challenged me to do my best and to read, read, read! I will take her class again!
She is very communicative and helpful on assignments and emails! There is reading (this is a literature course) but it isn't unmanageable. Almost all of the assignments are discussion posts, which take time, but again, not bad. Took this in the summer at a fast pace, so normal semester should be a breeze!
If you take this ENGL 2323 in the summer it is intensive as expected for a summer class. Make sure you keep up, read, study and know MLA 8 inside and out for Discussion board req. are 350 to 500 and two peer responses of 100 words. There are 16 modules in 5 weeks so prepare yourself.
Great Professor, gave informed feedback and gave lots of opportunities for extra credit.
She'll make you work for your grade. Gives helpful feedback for improvement. Several extra credit opportunities. She heavily stresses plagiarism. 3 major essays (evaluative film reviews of your choice), 3 rough drafts, 8 DBs, peer feedback in 3 writing workshops (this is helpful), & 2 open book tests. An easy A if you do the work. Lots of writing.
I loved Professor Reaume's class, the readings were interesting and the discussion questions were always fun to answer. She is also very understanding and generous with extensions. Don't be afraid to take this class.
I did enjoy taking Professor Reaume's class, however, I made a small mistake of forgetting to cite a source in my paper, and now I have to go through an Academic Conference since she claims I "plagiarized" my work. Overall she was an alright professor but she could have been a little forgiving towards her students who have made a mistake.
I regret taking her class,I did an essay n made an error with my citation and she reported me for plagerism and I have to go thro a long process to get cleared,I would not recommend her to anyone
Do not go into this class blind. I took this as an online summer class. The other reviews complaining about her strict policy on plagiarism are correct. She is obsessed with citations and will quickly ruin your grade and report you. You must make your own citations by hand (no citation machine) and for any errors, she will deduct points.
I have taken two required courses with Professor R and I have loved them both. She gives great feedback on all work and points you in the right direction when you need help. Instructions are very clear on all assignments. If I could keep taking her English classes for the remainder of my college experience, I would.
She is a great professor, will report you for wrong citations but gives guides on exactly how she wants them done. We watched a lot of movies and wrote essays over them. She gives very detailed feedback on rough drafts. Easy class if you can follow her instructions.
I found Professor Reaume to be an extremely great professor. She provided every resource necessary for success and was always willing to facilitate help. Though I found the course interesting on its own; Professor Reaume made the work a lot more interesting with different learning mediums and withheld great structure.
The class overall was ok, you get multiple attempts on almost everything but test retakes are averaged instead of replaced. Grading is very hard and directions were vague. Assignment's are not too difficult.
This is a good professor depending on what kind of learning style you have. For me personally, my learning style is different from how she teaches, so it was more challenging and independent for me. However, you can tell she is passionate about British Literature, and knows her stuff. If you hate reading a lot, then I don't recommend this class.
Overall a decent enough class. Some feedback from the professor was very vague. Like if I'm given the opportunity to really fix my work and clean it I would expect a good critique but all I get is "go back to this lecture" and that's a whole process of going through the course in Canvas.
The professor offered many extra credit opportunities and allowed extensions on assignments. Overall, the course is fairly easy if you turn in your work.
Professor Reaume had a smooth teaching style that kept me engaged. I was able to connect new elements of film to my previous learning experiences with their teaching style. Their instructions were always easy to follow, and I was always able to receive feedback to improve my writing.
Professor Reaume is a great professor and who puts a lot of time into organizing her classes. She makes the class interesting and should be an easy A
Professor Reaume is great, she give back very good feedback and makes entertaining and easy to learn.
The proffesor is a simple course and it is easy if you are on time and active. But you may fall behind with how she sometimes doesnt give clear
Gives a few assignments per week. She has good feedback on assignments
Provides a lot of extra credit opportunities, lenient on deadlines, and her feedback is good.
Good teacher overall, some of the work is just repetitive. Easy to get a decent grade in the class.
The amount of assignments Professor Reaume assigns each week is reasonable. Her course is organized and easy to navigate. Make sure works cited are included on assignments.
You will like content of her class.
Professor Reaume has a very good teaching style and does quite a few film studies. This is a good teacher if you want to receive lots of feedback on your writing.
She is a great Professor! , I really enjoy watching films in the class and being able to analyze them.
Professor Reaume loves the filmmaking industry, and her English Comp I class definitely reflects this. I was fully expecting a traditional EngComp class, but I was pleasantly surprised by her approach to teaching us writing skills and critical thinking through film analysis. We wrote 4 essays for the first semester, so be ready to write!
She shows a lot of videos that help us understand a concept better, and this is a preferred learning style of a class for me. Also we watched a lot of movies to represent the material that we learned as well.
Professor Reaume is an amazing teacher and always makes sure her students are learning. She holds us accountable for our work and never stops pushing us to be better.
This professor gives out multiple assignments so you are allowed to earn points and gives good, specific feedback.
Professor Reaume is a great teacher and I enjoy her class. She is caring and enjoys talking with students. She also has an enjoyable teaching style as she mixes film studies with English composition. She is a tough grader, though she does make the instructions clear and gives good feedback to help improve your writing.
Very kind and understanding professor. Provides incredible feedback on essays and gives engaging lectures with lots of useful information. Prepare for lots of essays, and make sure you brush up on MLA format.
Pay attention in the course and keep up with the assignments to succeed in the class.
She gives great feedback on essays and she takes time out of her day to help if needed. She's probably one of the best English teachers I've ever had.
Professor Reaume teaches Comp through cinema. Homework is to be done outside of class because the majority of class time is spent watching films. The movies we watch are mostly entertaining and relevant!
If you are looking for a professor who is willing to work with you Professor Reaume is the right one for you. She gives many extra credit opportunities that will boost your grade. Any draft and test submitted is given detailed feedback so you can do better for the second take. I would definitely recommend!
Professor Reaume is great for students seeking thorough course work. There is a lot of film studies in this course and multiple assignments every week. As long as each assignment is done, you can earn an easy A.
Professor Reaume is an excellent professor. She gives out extra credit opportunities and good feedback. As long as you check canvas each week and finish the assignments, you will be successful in this class.
Professor Reaume does a great job of teaching English composition by using the medium of film. If you like to watch movies and films in general, you should definitely take this class. We wrote around 3-4 essays for the semester, so writing is a core component of this class.
This professor is good at her job but comes off a little stern and unapproachable at times. Personally I am a little scared of her, but she isn't necessarily a scary person. She's a GREAT person to talk to about movies and can be fun. Regardless, talking to her about assignments and concerns is hard because she's blunt and forthcoming.
This professor gives very clear instructions so if you can remember the syllabus and put a little effort into the class you will be fine.
Great english professor and gives valuable feedback on assignments. Most of the time spent in class is used to watch films and all the work and assignments is done outside of class on your own time. You write only a couple essays throughout the whole course and if you keep up on all the assignments you should succeed.
Professor Reaume is a very down-to-earth professor who genuinely wants to see you succeed in her class. Coursework is somewhat light, one week you might have a quiz due, and another week you'll have a regular assignment and occasional papers. One thing to be aware of is that she takes plagiarism very seriously so make sure to do your own work.
She is very respectful and will help you if you ask.
She gave many resources to aid us with any assignments in class. She was also very quick to respond to any emails.
What I want other students to know about this professor is that she really values what she does, she gives you enough time to get every assignment done, and if you need more time you can always ask. She also makes sure you have all the tools to succeed in her class as long as you use them.
Professor R. takes an interesting and fun take on her class. Instead of giving her students a book and a deadline, we watch movies to analyze and later write about the film. It is a little hard getting used to it because I am so used to reading then writing an essay, but she gives the class a modern take.
She is very inclusive and connects with her students quite well. She allows for her students to get extra credit, and allows for everyone to get out of their comfort zone through presentations.
Very nice and understanding, but just make sure to read and participate.
Professor Reaume is great! The homework is not overbearing, and I have learned much from her lectures, especially how to write in MLA format. This will truly help me in writing in the future when I attend university.
She gives great feedback in your work and makes sure your on the right path while doing assignments
The teaching style is very precise and accurate. Her ability to convey material in an easily digestible way.
Reaume is such a great professor. She is so willing to help you succeed. She gives opportunities for extra credit and gives really good feedback on essays. She is very flexible will presentation performances and always builds you up in presentation feedback. She is also very strict on MLA format but that is something you adapt to very easily.
Professor Reaume is wonderful! She treats her students with respect and understanding. If you need an assignment extended and communicate to her she has no problem giving an extension. There is a lot of reading but none of it is unnecessary. We had 2 group projects, a final project, final exam, no essays, and weekly work that was due on Sundays.
Professor Reaume is a great teacher. She is very quick-witted and fun to talk to, and she is very understanding of extenuating circumstances. Unless the assignment is a test or quiz, she will guarantee extensions for as long as you need. There will be weekly readings that can be overwhelming if you get behind, but there are no required essays.
Her class is enjoyable and the workload isn't that much. The only reason I got the grade I did was because I didn't focus and do all the work. She also gives easy extra credit opportunities
She is a tough grader and has no leniency. I spent 15 hours working on the final but i made a small mistake in understanding the instructions and not only did she not let me change it, she also got mad at me for even asking to change it. She has this mean sarcastic tone while she is talking and teaching and treats her students like children.
Professor Erin made this class very engaging and I like how many classes it was a group discussion. I always felt like my opinion mattered and she loved hearing my point of view on each topic. She was one of the most amazing Professors I have had during my time in dual credit.
Makes clear lesson plans that follow closely with the assignments making it easy to follow and understand. The professor is an easy grader that allows room for your opinon even if its a bit off. I would definitely say to do the readings they make this class a breeze.
Professor Erin is a great professor especially for anyone who likes discussing and understanding literature. She took lectures very well and takes in all opinions. She's very open minded but also very blunt and straight forward. I enjoyed this class overall!
Professor Erin is a good professor for anyone who enjoys discussing literature and film in a deeper context. She is always open to new opinions when we discuss our readings and makes it entertaining for someone who might not be interested in literature. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this class and would recommend professor Erin again.
Professor Erin is a very straight forward grader, and she is clear on her assignments. She provides a safe class atmosphere & fun environment. Just make sure to not plagiarize.
She teaches in a way for us to understand and engages us accordingly. Nothing has ever been "too hard" in this class and there is a schedule so we know what to expect in the course. I feel like I have learned more in this class than any other TCC English course.
Honestly, her class is easy if you pay attention and do the work when she assigns it, and if you need an extension she will give it to you unless it's a quiz or test. Professor Erin made this class very enjoyable, hands down one of the best teachers I've had during my time at TCC.
She accepts all questions and you will benefit from asking those questions.
Heavy on proper MLA, class discussions about readings and films, assignments consisting of essays, writing workshops, quizzes on format, and ICE method.
An A in this class is achievable as long as you turn in the material on time and follow instructions. There are three major essays for the whole semester, with a presentation substituting for the final exam. There are opportunities for extensions and extra credit. Most of the time spent in class is for group discussion.
Erin gave informative feedback when we discussed our turned-in papers, but I wish she actually helped me fix the things I struggled with for instance, my thesis statement has been a weakness in all of my papers but she did not once help me fix it.
This class is good. There are three essays for the semester, but they were enjoyable to do.
She's amazing. Take her English Composition and be aware of plagiarism. Movie based class. She's also fun.
We watched 4 movies this semester and the essay prompts are interesting to write about. I enjoy her class most of the time but sometimes they can be slightly dull. She gives feedback and resources to improve your writing.
This class was pretty easy if you turn all the assignments in on time, but even if you don't have time she offers extensions on most assignments except the one test, but you get three tries. She offers plenty of opportunities for extra credit and overall you only have to write three major essays. assignments are always posted for the entire week
Erin is a good professor. She emphasizes MLA formatting and citing which is important to prevent plagiarism. A slight picky on grading essays, but teaches important components needed to be successful in English.
Overall a good professor. She was very understanding when it came to asking for extensions.
The professor was a very harsh grader but also gave a lot of amazing feedback for essays. I believe her honesty was one of my favorite parts of this class. While this is said, the professor did push quite a few of her social views in class which made the learning environment more than a little awkward.
She is a very kind professor, that engages with her students and gives good feedback on assignments and responds in a timely manner.
Overall very good professor, hard grader when it comes to writing, but will definitely strengthen your writing abilities.
Erin did a very good job of teaching the importance of Brit Lit this semester. She assigns 1-3 assignments a week and some weeks we watch a film version of whatever we're reading to compare them. Her course is very clear with her expectations and what she wants out of her class.
Professor Erin is the best. While she did have a personal conflict this semester, she was still there for us and was upfront about needing more time to grade. This class does have a lot of reading, but I expected nothing less from a British Literature class. I would 100% take her class again!
Professor Erin provided a clear assignment schedule and easy to understand instructions. Assignments were easy and interesting.
Professor Eren has an awesome sense of humor that makes her lectures very engaging. She has lots of knowledge about her profession and rarely reads directly from slides. We do lots of discussions and most of the literary works we are assigned are very interesting. Just don't fall behind on your readings or procrastinate on assignments.
This professor is very compassionate about the information within the class.
Erin was amazing! Her teaching style definitely helped me learn a ton. I loved her class all two years I had her for English. The assignments are also fun, fairly easy, and the workload is not overbearing whatsoever.
Very kind and understanding! There is reading but it is not excessive and the literature she assigns is interesting and fun! Lots of class discussions but they help elevate the readings. Overall a great professor and educational class!
Professor assigns reading and then discussion in class, if nobody pushed the discussion I can see learning being difficult. With a capable class discussion understanding the material becomes easy and the assignments become simpler due to greater understanding.
She is a very good professor that will give clear and good feedback. She gives good instructions for discussions and leads you to a good path on projects and papers.
Erin is a wonderful precession who studied film and cinema. her course reflects this with assignments on film through conventional english modes like essays and papers. She is a wonderful soul who occasionally is late, but she is an amazing teacher. Highly recommend taking this class.
I would definitely take it again, but just a heads up make sure you're prepared to put the work in. Yes, she has extra credit & extensions but if you fall too behind it'll be tough. She gives amazing feedback on your essays and is very understanding. A bit sarcastic sometimes, but you'll push through lol.
Very good feedback and constructive criticism.
Grades took a while to be entered. Generous with extensions & grading. Compliments. Never learned MLA - would say "review MLA" and take points off, but never explain. Tons of reading-unreasonable. Weekly reading quiz or discussion board-reasonable. Discussion boards had many prompts to choose from. I used SparkNotes and ctrl + f searched readings.
Great teacher for an online class. Assignment and their corresponding feedback was great and given in a timely manner. No papers, but class is largely graded on discussion posts. Be ready to use MLA.
First time in online class. Professor Boggs expects you to do the reading (a sweltering pace during Summer). Simple written discussions are the primary assignment form, several multiple choice quizzes, a mixed test on MLA, and midterm/final. Professor was accommodating, complimentary, helpful, kind, and fairhanded. You do the work, you get your A.
First time taking a summer class and genuinely ruined my mental state. This is my second semester of Brit Lit in the summer and the work load is that of a large class just with the due dates moved up a lot. We generally get 3-5 assignments every 2 days and they are discussions/quizzes. Make sure you know how to properly cite and write a lot. 3.5/10
Very demanding for a summer class. Longwinded assignments that take hours to complete. The prof is very adamant about MLA citations. She assigns almost 9 assignments each week which are not feasible for people with jobs or outside responsibilities to complete on time. I don't recommend taking her summer sessions
Very, very demanding for a summer course. Be prepared to read a lot in a very short period of time - she assigns about 9-10 assignments per week and expects perfect MLA citations, taking off points for minute details. No consideration for ANY extenuating circumstances and assigns too much work for a summer class. Would not recommend to anyone.
By far the worst professor I have ever had the displeasure of taking. Unfortunately I was quite happy for this class after seeing the high reviews from past students, but I do not understand how she has obtained these reviews. Absolutely DO NOT take this professor. Extreme amount of work, tough grader, unreasonable. TERRIBLE!!!
I'll be short and to the point. DO NOT take, horrible prof. I would rather switch schools and move states than take this course with her again. Absolutely can't stand it.
i did not like this class at all. it was miserable. soooo many papers and the amount of discussion boards was actually crazy. never taking a class with this teacher for the rest of my time on this small blue marble. do not take!
I made a mistake on one of my assignments and she reported me to tcc and almost had me expunged for a simple mistake. Horrible professor, rude tone, no help. DO NOT TAKE
She's a good teacher who is willing to listen to students. However, if you're taking English Composition, know that it'll feel more like Film Composition and the stuff you learn will then go into essay writing. Otherwise, I liked the class because it was very simple and I felt like I did well.
Good teacher. Went over information clearly. Easy to talk to.
Very good teacher. She gave good feedback and was clear on how she wanted her papers. Everyone knew how they were supposed to write the essays and she always was giving extra credit, she actually encouraged it. She was lenient sometimes on submissions if you had a good reason. Overall, this was a good class and I enjoyed learning/writing on film!
This class was pretty easy. It wasn't hard to get all my assignments in on time. Grading was a little harsh but you have the chance to redo most large grades.
Professor Boggs is a nice teacher, and although there are many assignments and readings, this class is fairly easy. She has many quizzes, and textbook readings are required- so be ready to read, read, read! She does have high expectations for her students, so don't walk into this class expecting it to be free. :)
Difficult class but she makes it interesting and fun! Very sweet lady and good extra credit options.
She always gives good feedback and has clear criteria for how assignments are going to be graded. She allows multiple opportunities for extra credit and if you do the assigned readings, the class discussions are interesting and easy. You get weekly assignments, quizzes which are completed on your own time out of class and maybe one essay.
The worst part about her class is her grading. She has incredibly specific requirements for what your presentation or essays should meet but does not tell you what they are. If you are looking for an easy GPA booster do not take this class. Overall good and informational class to take.
Lots of reading but as long as you do it you'll be fine and lots of group discussions
Good professor overall way easier than her English comp class. I would take her again, be prepared for class, open note quizzes but easy and not that many essays. There are lots of extra credits options and participation matters. Only downside is she is a bit passive aggressive.
I love professor Erin so much!!! She's not that bad, you might be reading but it's all good. Would take her again. We only wrote 2 essays and it was easy. If you aren't lazy, you'll be good. She might be a bit passive aggressive but she's cool. Participation matters. Quizzes are open note. JUST READ. She insulted Helena Carter, I don't like that.
She respects the students who respect her. She sets the expectations early in the semester. If you just abide by these expectations and do your work with academic integrity she will have your back. I had this professor for two years back to back for a total of four classes and have had no issues. With extra credit I have received a 100 every time.
Well-paced class that prioritizes cooperation and insight into content over meaningless essays. The workload is manageable and class discussions/group projects are interesting. The pieces we read are good examples of British literature, and historical context was provided to deepen our understanding of the texts. It's a lit class, expect to read.
Loved her class!
Honestly I learned so much with Erin. All our group discussions in class were useful and engaging. We did read a lot, but it's a literature class so that is expected. Very clear feedback is given on papers and she is a stickler about citations and MLA format, but she gives clear examples and instructions on how to cite correctly. Would take again.
Very understanding, love her as a person
Erin's class (when taken during a regular fall/spring semester) is an easy class where you can thoroughly learn about British Literature. From Beowulf and Arthurian tales to poetry and Shakespeare. Erin is in no way a bad professor, the only caveat is her occasional passive aggressiveness. Be it talking in class or putting your head down for a sec.
Erin takes the topics she teaches very seriously and passionately, and like most other professors she requires that her work is done fully, and well. It is pretty easy to excel in her class-- just do your work, read the materials she requires, and be able to speak up in class. She's also honestly pretty understanding and sweet.
Extremely harsh grader, very difficult to get a good grade in this class. Assignments are weighted strange, a small mistake will tank your grade.
I would never take this professor again and would never recommend anyone to take her. She grades so excessively difficult it is ridiculous. You're expected to rewrite every paper you turn in within a 24-48 hour period, you are counted off a ridiculous amount of points for EVERY. SINGLE. ERROR of the paper. It is almost as if she wants you to fail.
Prof. Boggs provides thorough lectures to help aid you throughout the course and is also concerned about your opinions of the course and wellbeing. In addition, she is also flexible and is willing to provide extra feedback if needed. In my opinion, this course is not only educational, but entertaining as well. Would recommend if fan of the Gothic.
I had Mrs. Boggs online for half a semester and honestly I wish I would of had her all this year because she is a great teacher, I would recommend everyone to take her class. I took her class only half a semester and online, and yet she was still accessible and made the effort to stay in communication with us.
Teacher was nice. She was absent an unusual amount of time. The feedback on coursework was good. It was just given after the assignment dependent on it was due.
I only had Erin for one semester, but wish I had her for a whole year. Her class is not hard, you will get the credit as long as you pit into effort. She gives out alot of resources if you are struggling and made the material easy to understand. If you want to boost up your grade, try cheering her up or do the extra credit, it is not hard.
She is a great professor!
Professor Boggs brings passion to her lectures, making the Gothic literature engaging. Though attendance is mandatory, the workload is manageable. I found unstuckstudy ai helpful for study prep - worth checking out alongside the textbook.
