enjoyed her class
Learned a lot in her class as she has worked for Corrections and CBSA. Very clear and has plenty of real world knowledge from her work experience. Will take more classes with her if she returns.
Had Erin for an online course and I will accept the fact that this was her first time doing an online format but it had to be hands down the worst teaching in my life. Now I am a third year student and no expert but teaching was vague and poor instruction as to what she was looking for. I would not reccomend her for any class.
I had Erin for an online class, and although the course itself - quizzes, midterm, weekly discussion - was very easy, the paper was a different story. She has impossibly high standards for citation, and equally inflexible in her marking. If you're new to citations, I recommend taking the course with a different teacher first to get the experience.
I had Erin for the online course, and as long as you did exactly what was outlined in the course, you did well. Everyone says she marks hard, but I got an A on the paper and did really well on the exams. Overall her course was really interesting although the online format kinda sucked.
love her! so funny, so interesting, so down to earth! is extremely fair on exams and tells you what to study for, if you put in an effort you get the mark you want.
I have Erin for Crim 104 this semester. Her lectures are interesting, the material is clear and she tells you exactly what to study for the exams. She has lots of real life experience and helps apply the theories so that you can understand them, and there are A LOT of them in this class.
She is awesome! had her back to back with 2 almost the exact same courses.. she made the both interesting for a long friday. She seems like she would be very difficult or strict but she's very nice and easy to relate to! says she marks essays hard but I did better on mine in her class then any other! Loved her, would take her again
I took her class expecting it would be hard from prior reviews. I was totally wrong. I finished with an A+ and a 4.1 GPA. She is one of the best profs I've ha at UFV. Exams are super easy if you have a brief understanding of the theories. Paper was easy if you put some effort in it. She was fun in class too and she gives u opportunities to succeed
I really enjoyed having Erin this semester. She's great as a person as well as professor. She has a lot of knowledge and is always willing to help you out. Her exams aren't difficult at all if you attend class, and her paper wasn't all that hard either. Genuine professor, definitely recommend her.
Erin's class was a breeze. She gives great feedback on papers. The course material was dry at times, but as long as you read the assigned chapters and take class notes you'll do fine on the exams
Very helpful, and opens up many employment opportunities in the Criminal Justice field
Erin made lectures interesting with all of her stories from her experience and told us what to study for exams. She was more than willing to give feedback on papers. Show up for class, take notes(!!), and you'll do well! She has a wealth of knowledge in this field and I would highly recommend taking a class with her!!
Amazing teacher, she makes the class exciting and no one zones out in her class. She has alot of stories to tell, some off this are insane, overall her class is easy, she clearly tells you whats on the exam and you can get an A
Well an 3 hour class seems more like an hour. Great stories, fun to listen to. She engages her students with fun games. Full potential to get a great mark just have to put the effort in.
She's an amazing prof and she couldnt be more helpful when it comes to tests!!! take notes=success
Best teacher I have ever had, HIGHLY recommend taking her. Wants all her students to succeed and is extremely clear on her expectations. Very helpful when it comes to explaining things or clarifying for paper or exams. Keeps the class engaged and is knowledgable. Simple class: 2 exams, a paper, and a presentation. Take notes and you will be fine.
Erin is amazing! She is so enthusiastic about her teaching and extremely knowledgeable. I took the class as a random elective, not because I'm interested in crim, and I was hanging off the edge of my seat every class. I actually loved showing up for class, which is a first. She spells it out exactly how she wants things done, and is a fair marker
Erin is one of the best profs I have had at UFV! She is very helpful for papers and will even review it for you before it's due. Take LOTS of notes and memorize any labeled diagrams and lists as they make up most of the exams. My only complaint is that she is slightly elitist. But - hilarious and an awesome prof and I would love to take her again!
Good Instructor and fair marker.
Didn't care for this teacher...she seemed to be quite enthused with all the stuff she did in her life and expressed it sincerely before each class. Make sure you don't throw up in her class and she will tell you several times over and over what happens if you do. Flight or Fright is her motto.
She is a very fun teacher, extremely enthusiastic; however, she is going for her doctorate right now and treats her first year students as if they are going for it as well. She does one main research project, but doesn't give any information on the topics in class, you must go out to learn on your own. She is a tough grader.
Erin is by far my favourite prof! She is crystal clear about expectations on papers and tests. Her lectures are very interesting, I looked forward to every class. She used to work in corrections, so she shares a lot of her knowledge. Easy to get an A and I would definitely take her again if I got the chance!
Erin is HILARIOUS. She makes her lectures as entertaining as possible. She is super helpful with her essay feedback and she blatany tells you EXACTLY what is on the test. Super easy class, would definintely take her again!
Erin is great, she is extremely clear. There is absolutely no reason to get a poor grade in one of her classes.
Erin is a wonderful teacher, she expects you to participate and loves pop quizzes every class so make sure you do your readings. she is tough grader she needs to be impressed to hand out an A. Would totally take another class with her! Go Erin!!
Erin was hilarious; made everyone laugh every class. Very knowledgable and has experience she can relate to which makes the class more interesting. Lets you know exactly what you need to know on the tests which makes them easy, though she can be tough marking papers (avg grade was a C) - would take her again, super approachable and funny.
Great Prof. She was easily my favourite instructor. She's on point in the sense that she is organized and the test material is taken directly from the readings, which by the way are NECESSARY to pass this course as all work (which is surprisingly not too much at all) is based off them. Plus, she knows what shes talking about 100%. Would recommend.
She's actually a really interesting prof. Her classes aren't easy so get ready to work.
The lectures are so interesting that suddenly three hours is gone. I will take another class with Erin for sure.
She make's lectures very interesting, and she's very knowledgeable about the content. She make's things fun and exciting. Her quizzes are easy if you read the textbook and pay attention in class. She expects more on her papers but she's great at giving feedback. Overall Erin is a great professor. Definitely would recommend!
really nice and proffessional
Great prof! She wants everyone in her class to do well, and she is always available for help. She makes her expectations crystal clear so it's really hard to mess up. just follow what she says and you're sure to get an A or a B.
amazing teacher funny trys to make class fun
Awesome prof. Tough marker but she makes her expectations very clear. Took as an elective with little interest in Crim but she made it interesting and I actually learned from her. Does have a final presentation which sucks but marks it pretty easy. Definitely recommend her
For her 252 class she switched things up and didn't have a final presentation as per her usual classes like 105. Instead there are two quizzes, a midterm , paper and case study. She makes lectures interesting by adding in personal experience. Does try to make things funny, but is a tough grader if you don't understand what she is asking.
I think she's an awesome prof. Very fair, she's nor easy or hard. The grade you receive is the grade you deserve.
Did not enjoy taking this course with her. I heard it to be an interesting course, but she is not a very good prof. Would not recommend her.
Erin is a fantastic prof. She is totally a tough grader on papers, but she gives you enough opportunities to figure out exactly what is needed to do well. Whatever grade you get in her class, you definitely earned it. In order to pass, you MUST read the textbook, half her exams are from the book. If you are a slacker, I don't think you'll like her.
Erin is a funny person, and makes jokes to keep the class engaged. However she marks very hard and is not accessible outside of class. She claims she sits in her office waiting for students to show up. But I went there 3 times and she was never there. First C- I received in crim
Erin is hilarious and makes her lectures very interesting. She incorporates many of her past stories with her lectures to keep you paying attention. She tells you what exactly will be on her tests but read the textbook because a lot of the info for tests are pulled from it. Only class I really enjoyed going to. Highly recommend her!
Mrs. Osterberg is one of the best teachers at Douglas, so sad to see her go! If you ever get the chance to take one of her classes, I would definitely recommend it. Her teaching is clear and easy to understand and if you need any help she gets back to you faster than any teacher I have had so far.
Erin is honestly AMAZING!!! (heavy emphasis on AMAZING). Her lectures are very informative and she is just hilarious. She's so chill and she really brings a lot of her own personal experiences into her class. She often has guest speakers who are interesting and know the field really well. GREAT prof, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Erin was the prof who intially got me interesting in CRIM. She is hilarious and super engaging. She is a quick marker and uploads everything onto blackboard, so you know what mark you are getting. She really wants you to succeed and is totally there for you! Awesome prof overall.
Erin was a great prof. She made the content very engaging and was a fair marker. If anyone says she was hard, it's because they themselves were slacking in the class. She gives many opportunities to recieve bonus marks in the class too
I mean between the two options of instructors Ufv has for crim 450, Erin is the superior choice. That being said, class was alright, a lot of dry content but she does a really good job adding excitement to the lessons. Huge stickler for minuscule things on papers. Familiarize yourself with the book and put in some effort and youll be fine.
450 made out to be the scary upper level that a lot of crim students avoid - but with Erin, it was one of the most enjoyable classes I have taken! Her expectations are very clearly outlined, and she makes herself available to her students for extra help. Reading the textbook is a must, as much of the content appears on exams. Truly learned a lot!
Great prof, very understanding. We had 3 exams on separate chapters and a paper. She replies to emails consistently and the majority of the course depended on the text along with her slides. When it comes to exams and quizzes, attend class because she explains and gives clear hints as to what will be on it. MC is a little hard.
Rude and did not give clear instructions for the papers. Exam's got released and then she took all course content away with no warning. Course work is fairly easy but i swear she wants you to fail. She hides bonus marks in the syllabus which no one reads because its hidden in the pointless stuff and then got mad no one did it. Avoid this teacher!!
Do not take this class online with her. Theres no supplementary powerpoints, class was told to not contact her and to read the syllabus to answer our questions because she has too many students online. Minimal instructions on the papers, and once submitted passive aggressive comments were send back to us for not reading the instructions.
I am a 3rd-year student taking this course as an elective and this is the rudest professor I have had. I did awful on both the exam and the first paper even though I have an almost 4.0 GPA. I emailed for help a number of times and she was passive-aggressive and RUDE each time. I feel bad for 1st-year students who need guidance. Does not care. MEAN.
I came on here and was really surprised by what I'm reading about Dr. Osterberg's online 105 class. She offered bonus marks in the course outline which is no kidding 12 pages long. Every answer to every question seems to be in there! She sent an email saying we should check it, but she answers emails so quickly. I will take a course with her again!
Her exams are difficult, be ready to pretty much memorize small details from the textbook. She is a good lecturer & keeps it interesting but she does not like if you disagree with her POV. Assignments are difficult & she is not willing to help out her students. Definitely suggest taking the other prof for CRIM 450.
If you don't want to work hard, don't take a class with her. She has high expectations, but she rewards with marks and there are lots of chances to get bonus marks in her class.
Would give her a 0 if I could, she could care less that you are failing. Does not offer any support. Comes off as arrogant in her emails, and feedback takes forever. Exams are really hard and DOES NOT DO ANY LECTURES (JUST 3 EXAMS AND 3 PAPERS). Myself being a straight A student my entire life, I never want a prof like that again.
Maybe she's a good prof in person but DO NOT TAKE HER COURSES ONLINE! In my opinion she is horrible. Her expectations on exams are absolutely RIDICULOUS, her emails are arrogant, and she shows absolutely no empathy for students. I'm incredibly disappointed as I was excited to take such an interesting course, but with her it is a complete let down.
Do not take this course with her online if you don't want to have to teach yourself. She doesn't do any lectures and sends passive-aggressive emails saying that assignments were done wrong even though the things that were done wrong were not included in the course syllabus.
I took this prof because I saw all the good reviews about her and I regret it. Her tests are extremely hard and she expects you to memorize everything, including the little details in the textbook. She is not understanding at all and doesnt care about her students. Avoid her if you can!!!
My biggest regret is taking this class was really excited about it but disappointed. Seriously DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS ONLINE! She does not teach anything and is very passive aggressive towards her students. Lacks empathy and has unrealistic expectations for her students. Be ready to teach yourself the material; there is ONLY 3 papers and 3 exams.
Erin was pretty hands-off but I didn't mind. She has you read a chapter of the textbook and watch a video each week. There are 3 papers and 3 exams but all are pretty straightforward. The textbook is definitely required too, you won't pass without it. Overall, a pretty decent class.
marks come from 3 papers and 3 exams. Do the reading, do the review, and study - you'll be fine.
Great class, I love thought paper 3.
A bit of a force to be reckoned with. Witnessed her kick someone out of the class (and fail) because they showed up 15 minutes late; from what I heard, it wasn't entirely in the students control (I could be wrong). Extremely knowledgeable and good lectures. I can tell she is a caring person but she may not come across that way to some students.
I've had a terrible semester with terrible things happen and Erin has been so kind and caring all the way through. I will totally take a class with her agian.
If you're taking an online class with Erin, and you don't take her up on the offer to meet on zoom or by phone, that's your loss. She has been so helpful with every assignment. I ask to meet with her and right away she gets back to me. Her advice has been really helpful and shes got a TON of experience in law enforcement. Great prof IMO
COVID has screwed up my world and she has been super kind and understanding every step of the way. Yeah, her announcement emails are a bit terse, but the students are clearly not following the instructions because she keeps repeating herself. I will take another class with her next semester if I can.
I had Erin for "Corrections in Canada." She was a tough marker - make sure to properly APA-reference every little thing in your papers! She WILL take marks off for miniscule things. A bit micromanaging on little details and her tests are focused on random stats from the textbook. She's passive aggressive sometimes. I would not take her again.
Honestly don't understand why Erin's rating is so high. Her emails are passive-aggressive, she has NO empathy for students, and she's simply not nice. She expects too much with no lectures or help, you basically teach yourself. I am a fairly decent student with A's or B's, with her as my prof this semester I am unsure about passing. AVOID!!
Erin is the WORST prof Ive had by far. Her marking is HORRIBLE and very hard. I had her class this semester and Ive never came close to a prof that is this bad, her email replies are dry and she doesnt communicate at all. She expects you to be super talented in writing and if its not in the way of her like she will not pass your paper. Bad Prof
I took CRIM 105 with Erin online and while it was heavy in terms of textbook reading I found that she gave good feedback on papers. As long as you follow directive/critiques you will do well. Erin does not do lectures/videos for online which I appreciated but to each their own. I really enjoyed my class with her! Gives multiple bonus mark chances.
Erin was not good. She was hard to reach outside of class, a hard grader, very short and unhelpful emails, and passive aggressive. She expects so much when she literally didnt teach me a single thing all semester. It was just read this then Ill give you a terrible grade. DONT waste your time with her.
I took 105 with her last semester. She marks hard on papers, but gives lots of feedback. The tests are all multiple choice - make sure you take really good notes and study. I spoke to her twice on zoom and she was really nice in person.
I took Corrections with Erin last semester. I had three online meetings with her and each time, she was super caring and helpful. She has lots of funny stories and she was pretty chill to talk to. She really helped me a lot with my writing. I will take another class with her.
Her emails are very passive-aggressive, and she seems to not care if you have a different opinion than her. Her exams are very hard since you only have 60 minutes to do 60 multiple-choice questions. Each question is usually taking more than a minute to read and understand since they are very wordy. Avoid her if you can.
The tests and papers are challenging, but you'll be okay if you do the review questions and study every week. Dr. Osterberg pots a lot of information in the course, and it's time-consuming. If you review it all, you will do well. Not easy though. I asked for an extension on the first paper, and she replied quickly.
very tough grader when it comes to essays, no sympathy, and will give u a bad mark if she doesnt agree. u wont be taught anything, you have to learn on your own. wouldnt reccomend :(
She marks hard, but gives a lot of feedback to help you improve. Replied to my emails quick. Her expectations are really clear. I would take her again.
is quite unclear with what she means. Goes heavy on apa citation but will literally strike references out of your paper then leave a note that you need references, her grading seems convoluted and has very little interactive work in her class and rather you are graded on a couple papers and tests. As i said i do think she tries but could do better.
Knows exactly what she wants to see from papers but is not great at expressing this to the rest of her class. she is accessible outside of class but is very unflexable with rewrites and grading. Use to love criminology but this prof definitaly ruined it for me.
If you struggle with anything like dyslexia DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. in the tests you have about a minute per question and auto submits if you go over time. She is not flexible with this and does not allow retesting. Only posts lectures without an audio assist as well as lots of reading. good luck.
very kind and knowledgeable. grading was based on 3 multiple choice tests and 2 papers. the guidelines for these papers was incredibly clear and the feedback given was thorough. the second paper builds on the first so the provided feedback is incredibly helpful for the second paper. there was no lectures, mostly just textbook reading.
Erin gives good overview of the research and then helped me think about ways to apply it. She's got a lot of experience and is super knowledgeable about the system, I really enjoyed the lectures. She marks hard on papers though. I will take another class with her.
At first glance, you can tell Erin is super passive-aggressive. We had to write a paper about a specific murder case, and I failed because broadcasted videos of the trial were not considered academically reviewed. Test questions are a lot more complicated than they need to be and are always confusing for no reason.
Very blunt and rude in her emails. Has absolutely no sympathy for you if youre struggling in an area she finds easy. If you dont do your tests or papers the exact way shes looking for, theres no way youre passing. I loved criminology and psych and she ruined the whole experience with this class.
Just awful. Shes one of those professors that wants to see you fail. Expects students to perform at her own level. Dont take this class if its one of your firsts
One of those teachers who makes it really hard to succeed. Takes off marks wherever she can, and not always in a fair manner. Extremely unapproachable and passive aggressive via e-mail. Tests are 100% based on memorization of videos and readings, not about overall themes and applied knowledge. Was excited about this course & ended up disappointed.
I took 479 with Dr. Erin. She has a lot of experience and this course really pushes you outside your comfort zone with job interviews and resumes and learning presentation and interviewing skills. She grades tough but she gives lots of feedback. It was a great course.
This class was a combination of previous required crim courses, making it super repetitive regarding ethics/morals/professionalism. Erin can be very short when asked questions and I honestly think she does not want to see her students succeed, she was extremely rude and condescending to her students. I would avoid at all costs.
This is the worst professor I have ever had. Erin marks very hard, takes off marks whenever she can unfairly. Her email responses are rude and condescending, and she is quick to judge you. While I liked the content of the course, she made it a horrible class to take. Overall not a nice person and wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy. Avoid her!
I honestly dont know why Erin has such a good rating. If I could give her a zero I would. She is the most unpleasant professor I have ever come across. She doesnt care about your success and purposefully tries to ensure you dont get a good grade. She is rude in emails and doesnt try and help you. She will subtly mock you for getting a bad grade
Decent, tough grader.
Overall theme is ethics. 2x/15min YouTube video assignments in the form of interviews without a script. 1x/1800 word paper. The rest is made up of smaller assignments. Final was in person on paper, very fair if you review all the readings and bolded/list items from lectures; I studied one day before and got an A+.
Great Prof, do the work and put in an effort and it is a breeze. This class is very helpful and Erin is great at delivering it
Dr Erin loves what she does and makes every lecture hilarious and entertaining. She is really nice and is always willing to help during office hours. One of the best profs! If you put in the work, the class should be manageable.
I would definitely take her course in person, as her lectures provide clarifications and she ensures that everyone knows what needs to be done for her assignments and exams. She is a tough marker, and there are many assignments to do.
Osterberg was great! I took 450 online. Make sure you study the flashcards she provides (i.e. key terms in textbook at the end of each chapter. KNOW THEM!) Very clear grading criteria and clearly cares about her students' success. Two video projects and one policy brief; it's not as scary as it sounds. The videos are prep for the brief and helpful!
Erin was great for CRIM 479. She has very clear grading criteria with clear lectures as well. There are no surprises on the exam and the paper is easy so long as you edit and pay attention to grammar and proper citations. Two video/group projects, one paper, and one final exam (no midterm.)
Good prof if you have to take otherwise avoid. Prof is nice but course work is heavy, not worth it if you can avoid.
Did I love the content of 450? No. But Erin made it interesting and relevant. Seems that lots of students come on here and give her bad ratings because they don't actually like policy not because she's not good at teaching it. Face it, you have to take 450 - and you should take it with Erin because the other option is...well...much much worse.
Crim 479 taught me so many useful skills. I didn't realize just how much while I was taking it, but when I graduated and went to look for a job, the things I learned from Erin helped me land a great job. My resume was good and I was confident about the interview. Take this calss.
Thought I was going to hate this class, but I didn't.
479 is worth taking Didn't realize it at the time but its helped me a lot looking for a job
I'm in Crim 479 and I'm learning so much.
overall, terrible teacher does not follow up on assignments. avoid if possible
Shes helpful if you reach out.
479 seemed like it was going to be useless but in the end it was so good.
Heavy assignments, tough grader. Teacher is not that understanding. Nit picky on assignments. Overall not the best teacher. Avoid this course if you can.
i screwed up and she was tough about it at first but when i explained what happened she was kind i would take her again
I would recommend taking her in-person as it makes the content less daunting. Tough grader, doesn't give her own feedback as the feedback others give you is supposedly enough for your video assignments. Must know every single thing for the exams. Can be pretty condescending in her replies back to students. You get some chances for bonus marks.
Erin, does not give clear guidelines for assignments in her syllabus she tells the most crucial pieces in class only. She expects you to write a resume without seeing a properly completely resume. Gives only 2 weeks to write a research/opinion Marked on many assignments but large % on few items. Her PP slides are useless for reference material.
I took 479 and 450 with Erin. She is a kind, personable person who wants everyone to succeed. 479 was a very useful class and I would recommend it. She will not give away A's but if you put the work in you will do well. Exams for 450 are tough but she grades fair on all assignments. I would recommend taking her classes in person.
Erin is a great professor who made the content of 450 very interesting. There are quite a few assignments, but if you put in the work she will reward you with the grade you deserve. She has a clear grading criteria and genuinely cares about your success. There are lots of opportunities for bonus marks as well.
I really loved Erin in both classes I had. Her expectations are clear, do the lectures, readings and supplemented readings and you will be good. Take advantage of class discussions and ensure that you follow the guidelines. You will succeed greatly if you do that. Erin is respectable, funny, kind and caring. Lots of bonus mark chances!!!
Erin was a terrific prof. I was scared of taking 450 before I started, but Erin made it understandable and contextualized tough concepts. Not sure why there are so many low ratings. If you put in the effort, you will be awarded a good grade. Class discussions about current policy and politics were always something to look forward to.
Dr. Osterberg has been amazing! She is exceptionally understanding and approachable for students struggling or needing extensions. She makes the content applicable to the real world and actively involves her students in the learning/teaching process. Dr. Osterberg really cares about her students and has incredible knowledge to share!
Erin was wonderful. She was very clear about her expectations for what was expected of students for the readings, the assignments, and the exams. Erin was extremely helpful throughout the semester. Any time I had a question I got a prompt email reply. If you stay on top of the readings, you'll be fine. Overall, Erin is kind, funny, and passionate.
Erin was an amazing professor! She's is very relatable and understanding. The exams are super tough, but she is very clear with assignment guidelines and great if you need an extension. Overall, Erin is a super caring and funny professor, she holds you to a high standard but if you do what is expected of you, you will succeed.
Erin is one of the best crim profs at UFV. She has the education and the life experience that she passes on to her students. 450 is a lot of reading, keep up with the it and ready the instructions on assignments and you will succeed. Erin is nice, relatable and an understand person. I have taken 3 classes with her. Highly recommend!
Erin is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Her lectures were clear, interesting and I learned a lot. If you want to genuinely expand your knowledge and gain an understanding of social policy, she is perfect. However, be ready for a heavy workload and high expectations. If you want to coast through, she is not for you.
Erin is a good prof. I have taken her for 3 classes now. She is knowledge and caring she wants her students to succeed, but she expects you to put in the work. If you follow her instructions, do the reading, and ask questions you will do fine. Lots of opportunities for bonus marks. Show up to every class regardless if you think it's pointless!
Erin is a nice person in general, but she assigns homework and makes it due that same week. I found this absurd since most of us are taking other courses as well. It does not make sense for a prof to make things due the same week they are assigned, especially since she does not mark them right away but expects us to have it finished within 4 days.
For someone who has been a student and in our position for many years, I would expect her to understand that students have lots of other homework too. She assigns things on a Monday and makes it due that same week on a Friday at 4pm! Yet, we do not get our marks back for 3-4 weeks. She also marks kind of hard
She gives so many opportunities for bonus marks, its kind of nuts how many students don't try. This week it was to create multiple choice questions for our first exam, and then we can study from them. makes sense to me.
lots of chances for bonus marks
Avoid her at all costs! I think she actually enjoys making our lives miserable- she is a very hard marker and will drop you by 3 letter grades for the smallest things. She is nice as a person, but as a prof I would expect her to be more understanding. She also does not give any study guide and the midterm is really hard.
Words can't describe how awful she is as a prof. It almost looks like the positive reviews on here are by the same person trying to up her rating. I emailed her about something grade related and instead of responding to me she sent an email to the whole class saying she won't respond to emails about grades. Way too entitled to be a prof.
I am a bit surprised by how this professor chose to speak to the class at times. There were a few times where announcements and emails came across as subtly rude, demeaning, and/or unwarranted. I don't feel like that is the best approach to get students to feel engaged with the course or comfortable in the class. YMMV?
Erin was a okay. She said she was going to be a really tough grader at the beginning of the course, and she was. The textbook is very dense and hard to get through. There are 3 bonus mark opportunities before the three exams. She can be demeaning in class messages and act as if people have done something wrong before assignments are even submitted.
She's hard but so the work and you'll get a good grade and a good reference
I am glad I survived this course and this Prof. She was rude, obnoxious, and self-important.
