This is a senior level class, if you aren't willing to put in the work, then you should not take it. It is extremely comprehensive and time intensive. Grades aren't handed out, they are earned. Professor Welch wants all of her students to succeed, is available and responsive. Don't expect to earn better than you worked for!
This is a basic management class, at a junior level, so junior level work is expected. Professor Welch provides everything students need in order to be successful. There is a research term paper to do, but you have the first 4 months to do it. As long as you don't fall behind, there is no reason not to do well in this class.
The only bad thing about this class is that I got an 88 and she gave me a "B" instead of rounding it up or giving any extra credit. Other than that it was pretty basic BCIS class that you've probably already taken a few times.
Welch is a very nice lady who wants everyone to succeed. You have to read the book and study her lecture PPTs. She will give you everything you need to study, but the material is boring and very dry. Stay focused and listen to her lectures. She gives hints to test questions!!
The homework and quizzes for this class were stupid easy, you just have to skim the chapter. The tests are tough though. 50 questions in 55 minutes and it's not easy definitions like the quiz questions; it's critical thinking, situational questions. You really have to get in the zone. She's really on top of everything and is almost overly thorough.
She hands out PPTs for her lectures, but you need to actually read the book to do well on her exams. No quizzes or homework! There are a couple of individual assignments and one group assignment. Just follow her instructions and you will do well!
Read the chapters, her PPTs, exam outlines, and you will do fine. She is very clear about what you need to do to succeed. There are 2 tests, 2-3 assignments, group presentation, and a final. She is a great teacher and will give you all the tools necessary to do well! Go to lecture and take notes! She gives hints during class
Organizational Behavior Online. she does not give you enough time to take the tests. Each test consists of 50 questions and you are only given 55 min. to take it. A large majority of those questions tend to be heavily worded with 5 choices to choose from that are also heavily worded. not enough time to read and comprehend in a minute and 10 seconds
Tests are pretty hard, you only have 55 min to answer 50 questions! I know they don't want us to cheat but that's just mean. Other than that the assignments were pretty easy and interesting. Other than 4 tests, we had quizzes and discussions for each chapter, no papers.
I took her online class, the tests are hard for 50 questions you get one hour which is not too bad if you know the material. In this online class you will read a lot, and is important you stay on track, quizzes are not difficult. If the class misses the same questions on exams she gives you more points which helped me a lot.
This class was easy to understand and easy to pass. You have to do all assignments, but the only difficult assignments were exams. There isn't enough time given on the exams. If you're taking the online course, you might not need the textbook. The professor was nice, responded quickly to emails, and was helpful.
She's really nice. Take good notes of lectures (gives hints) and guest speakers, and make sure you read the book to do well on the tests. She curves if needed. Group work not too bad, mostly done during class time. One paper but has step by step instructions. Overall, a great class to take.
Favorite professor hands down. Attendance is not mandatory, however to pass the class you need to go. She prints slides for you. She makes up her own test questions so you need to pay attention, but she tells you "this will be on the test" Also, dont skip guest speaker days. Definitely and easy B and very achievable A if you put in some work!
Paragraphs for questions grey area answers perception might get the best of you. PowerPoint isn't teaching
Class is consisted of chapter quizzes through blackboard which can be found mostly online. Guest speaker reports which are pretty straight forward. A individual writing assignment. 4 exams through blackboard. Great professor if you show up because she tells you everything you need for the exams. Easy B, you'll get an A if you put in effort.
Really great professor! Tests are little difficult, but she warns you of this. She also tells you what will be on the test, so going to class is a must if you want to do well. There is 1 group project, 2 small papers, and 3 tests. She cares about her students, enjoys teaching, has experience, and is very knowledgable. I would take her again.
The exams are hard. Long questions and longer answer choices with such little time (50questions 55 min). Read the textbook and ALL content in the modules. Weekly quizzes and discussions. They are easy. NO extra credit. It is strictly online course and there is little guidance to what is expected. Again, DIFFICULT tests.
Prof Welch is fantastic. Her online class is SUPER easy. Definitely an easy A. I never read the textbook. She assigns chapter quizzes and discussions, but they are super easy and take about 30 min. Her tests are difficult, but if you take notes, you're golden. Do the work and you'll pass easily! Easy A or B.
Professor Welch is a great professor. She really cares about her students, and goes the extra mile for everyone. This class has 2 papers, but they are fairly easy. 3 exams and a group project. The exams are pretty tough, so you have to study pretty hard. I never read the textbook. The group project is also easy! Don't let that scare you.
Her expectations are very clear and easy to understand. Testing material comes from the quizzes, the book, articles, lectures, and videos she posts. I suggest taking notes on the videos and making note cards of vocab words. The book is a must! As long as you do your work on time and read the book, you'll do fine.
Not good for summer semesters due to the sheer amount of material covered in a short time (all of which is testable)! The quizzes are fairly easy, but the exams are oriented to critical thinking and practical application with a relatively short time to take them. Very stressful, but she is helpful, organized, and quick to respond.
Must read every assignment or you will not be able to make an A.
i took the online version of the class. it was okay. you will need to work hard for the grade you want. reading is critical as well as looking at the material on blackboard. i managed a "B" which is like decent at best. also you will need to write papers
I love Professor Welch. She is so kind and tells you her expectations. Be sure to stay on top of quizzes and discussions! Take notes on the videos. Her powerpoints and lecture notes are very helpful.
I love Professor Welch so much. She is so caring about her students and will do anything to help them. She does keep you for most of the 3 hours but will give good notes for each chapter with test answers. You don't necessarily need the book because she gives a good amount of information in the chapter handouts. She's awesome!
There was definitely a lot of work through out the semester. She gave one extra credit opportunity. Her exams were hard. I could not figure out a good studying strategy for her tests because they were not similar to her quizzes.
Go to class, she'll give test hints. She won't offer any extra credit or any rounding. It helped me to record lectures and listen to them again. It wasn't the hardest class I've had, but she makes you work for it. I was only a few points away from an A and I didn't really read the book. I recommend her in person vs her online classes. Very helpful
I don't recommend taking this class online unless you have another friend taking it as well. Quiz questions are on quizlet but the test questions arent. You have 50 question tests with only 1 hour and I promise it is not enough time bc some questions are paragraphs. Discussion posts were easy grades. No extra credit or rounding. Tough class online
Fairly simple class for summer online. Four chapters a week to read for quizzes, a discussion thread, and exam. The book was well organized and gave plenty of real world examples.
The latest edition for the textbook was required however I managed with the previous edition and I did well.
She's an amazing professor that gives amazing feedback. Took it online in the summer, highly recommended. The exams are tough have to understand all the concepts, and read all the uploaded content. Discussions, easy quizzes, and some extra credit points. Would love to take her again!!
Professor Welch is extremely organized and quick to respond with great feedback. The course however is hectic, with a lot of reading and the exams are extremely difficult with very narrow time constraints. Everything is testable, so you have to have read everything to get through each exam.
The class is pretty easy if you study. The quizzes and discussion boards are easy as well. When it come to the test you actually have to study because the tests are difficult. There are going to be situational questions about some of the material that she makes up and some of the questions come from the articles and videos she posts.
A professor that is really dedicated to her students and if you study hard then you can pass this class. Must ready textbook chapters completely, watch videos and take notes. this is a good class if you work in management.
She probably cares about her students more than any prof I've ever had. Show up to class and she gives you the material to pass. The class has some group work which is easy, the tests are not easy but fair. A lot of test questions require you to read carefully and ask you to pick out the statement that isn't consistent or doesn't belong.
An exceptional professor who truly cares about her students. She was such a resource in and out of the classroom and was available in her office to talk anytime about school and the industry. There are a few in-class assignments, but majority of the final grade is based on 4 tests. There is no comprehensive final either.
Long questions and long answers, one minute per question, too much material to read, some questions are about a word in a video, in a word, old school teaching methods.
Very easy class. Tests and quizzes are straightforward, and discussion posts appear to be participation grades. I really enjoyed the class
I took Prof. Welch's online MGMT 3720 over the summer. The class consisted of 4 discussion boards (2 responses each), 16 chapter quizzes (5 questions each), and 4 exams. The exams were the bulk of the grade. Exam questions are based on the textbook and provided readings in the chapter modules. Not an easy class, but very clear and lots of feedback.
Professor Welch is the best professor that I have ever had, hands down. She is passionate about her student's knowledge and will always provide assistance when needed. She cares about her students learning the knowledge of the course to prepare them for life outside of school, so you do have to work for your grade. She is amazing.
Professor Welch is probably one of the best professors I've taken for an online class. There was a lot of DBQ hw but they were so informational and helpful for her tests. As long as you put effort in, you'll succeed. Professor Welch did a WONDERFUL job at communicating with the class a few times a week. The class was very organized too!
Don't believe the reviews on here, "Professor" Welch is terrible. She's so out of touch with students, learning techniques, and still stuck in corporate world. Her test are ridiculously difficult and offers NO help. You either understand the material or you don't. She acts like she's teaching an MBA level class. Take someone else, you've be warned.
Professor Welch is really knowledgeable in this course, HOWEVER These tests are TIMED, 60 minutes to answer 50 questions. You must REALLY STUDY or you will not pass this course. Extra credit opportunities are only worth 5 points each. I literally struggled and put in so much time to barely pass this course, Take Caution of this course & Good Luck.
Don't believe the reviews here. She throws tons of material @ you &you better memorize ALL of it, down to certain percentages covered in supporting documents, &every word in the videos she posts. There is no way someone can remember all of the material. Exams are hard &worded to trip you up. Get ready to fail, even if you're a straight A student!
She's a role model for what college professors should be. She's not an easy professor, but she test's you thoroughly on material. As long as you care and attend class take good notes and pay attention you will do well in her class. shes very caring and actually wants to know her students, not just here for a paycheck like most. multiple classes w/.
Professor Welch is a great professor. She a good person and she has solid understanding of her class. The test is extremely hard tho, She makes her own test so not a lot of wiggle room there to learn anything from outside sources. I suggest bringing a recording device and re-listen them after to study for the exams, then you will pass for sure.
My favorite professor. So sweet and such a good lecturer.
I took this 5-week summer course online and loved the course design. There is a lot of reading, 4 chapters each week. Each chapter has its own quiz. Each test covers a total of 4 chapters. How to succeed: do Cornell notes for each chapter, include page number for every main topic. This will allow you to quickly find answers during the quiz and test
This professor will go above and beyond to help you succeed. If you are struggling in her class (which you might because of the amount of work and critical thinking required in class) do reach out to her. She cares about her student and will work with you. Great teacher, I highly recommend it!
If you're looking for easy A this is not it. This prof def makes you work for your grade, the exams are pretty tough and you really have to study and prepare. Don't expect A without putting any work. Overall the prof is pretty good in teaching and does not assign unnecessary work. The grading criteria is pretty strict, she does round some exams.
Professor Welch is my favorite professor I have ever had in my college career! She always gives really clear feedback, outlines every assignment at the beginning of the semester with a very clear timeline, and actually teaches you information that is useful in the real world. She is one of the sweetest people I've met and I love taking her classes!
Take her class everything is so easy she is so caring and sweet.
She will help you if you need it take her class
She is well organized but the amount of readings she gives per module is ridiculous. an outline,PP, article, videos, and they are not short. The exams are 50 Q with 60 mins, but the questions are thick paragraphs and you will not have enough time to actually dissect anything.
Prof Welch has been my favorite professor I have taken. She is super clear at the beginning of the semester of the schedule, due dates, assignments, etc, and will give plenty of time if there are any changes being made. She is caring and kind and will help out in any way possible. Her classes also have a lot of real-world applications! 11/10 prof!
This class should be fun, because the subject is interesting, but this professor makes it grueling. The exam questions are obscure and ambiguous and it's almost impossible to make an A on the exams regardless of effort. I'm an A student and wouldn't recommend this class to someone who wants to maintain a 4.0. Take someone else for this class.
Great at providing quick feedback. MGMT3720 is challenging, not impossible. Between the textbook and the outlines (Very thorough & helpful), there is a lot of reading. Her exams will challenge you to demonstrate your ability to show that you understand concepts. 50 questions (some lengthy to read) in 60 mins. There was not a cumulative final exam.
Professor Welch is by far the best Professor I have ever had. She is quick to email and will always give help when needed, she is maybe one of the nicest human beings on this earth, and she is a fantastic teacher. Her class is clear and everything is straightforward and practical. I would recommend taking her for as many HR classes as possible!
Professor Welch is a great professor. She's flexible and you can tell she really cares about her students. Go to class and write down the things she says will be on the test and you're good!
You have to read for her class, but its not boring. I found many of the topics interesting. When she received information about me needing accommodations she emailed me to let me know I can email her any time I wanted to use my accommodations or if there was something making the class difficult for me, but it never felt difficult. Would take again.
Don't believe the reviews on here that say "Don't believe the reviews." Lol. Yes, semi-contradicting. Beside the point. Professor Welch is fantastic. She KNOWS the material. She knows how to teach. She is invested if you have any questions. But she expects you to try and still work hard. Take here if you have the chance.
I have taken Professor Welch now for two classes, and she has been nothing less of amazing. While yes her tests can be tedious and time consuming, she is very clear during her lectures about what will be covered on exams. If you take good notes and pay attention to the concepts taught, you'll do fine. I highly advise taking her!!! :)
Professor Welch is an amazing professor! I really enjoyed all of her lectures and she has a great sense of humor! I am very excited to take her next fall. The tests are not hard if you study (it is situational-type questions).
Took her for MGMT 4180 & 4300. Truly an amazing professor who cares a lot about HR and has a high level of customer service. Paying attention + taking good notes = a good grade in her classes.
Great professor. I took her online and as long as you watch the lecture videos you will pass!
Loved this prof, and her lectures were straight forward what would be on quiz and exam. She was great, -entertaining and accessible. Tests are webcam but open note. I took notes exactly from lecture and still got 70-80 on test, and sunk my grades was only complaint. Don't need textbook. As long as you listen to lectures you will be good.
Professor Welch is amazing! She truly has a passion for teaching the class on workplace health and safety. The lectures are very informative. 4 exams. We had 4 guest speakers and they were great! We did have group work and a major presentation so make sure you choose your teammates wisely because that will be your team for the rest of the semester.
Super easy class, while still being informational. You can use your notes on exams and quizzes so as long as you watch the lecture videos, there's no reason why you shouldn't get a good grade. She's also very understanding about outside responsibilities and offers extra credit sometimes. There's one group assignment but it's an easy A.
Great professor and easy class. Can use notes on exams so as long as you pay attention during lecture, you should do pretty well. If you take it in person, there isn't any busy work, so you basically just have exams and a group project, with a couple in class assignments that are super easy. She also curves exams if a question is missed a lot.
The lectures are everything. She gives printed copies of the slides and over-emphasizes which parts will show up on exams, which are open note. If you pay attention in class and take good notes, you don't even need to purchase the textbook. Dr. Welch keeps class interesting and brings in multiple guest speakers with relevant work experience.
Professor Welch is one of those people who you can clearly tell has a passion for what they do. She's extremely communicative of what is expected of you and send out updates and check-ins regularly to keep you on track. Her lectures were great and easy to follow along with. Tests weren't too bad and she offered good feedback when needed.
Professor Welch is a great teacher. She provided very good, clear lectures, and gives hints about exam and quiz material. A free text book is given for the class. Not much reading required. Tests are moderately hard and are mostly application multiple choice, which tests the material really well. Discussion posts are relevant, short, and sweet.
I'm taking this as a summer class so it's fast-paced, but professor Welch is amazing. The tests are open note and she tells you what will be tested on exams and quizzes if you watch the lecture videos. She's also very understanding and easy to contact. As long as you watch the videos for each chapter and take notes when she says to you'll get an A.
She's an amazing professor! I would take her class again in a heartbeat.
Even online, I could tell that Welch was kind and cared about the students' success. However, the class itself was just fluff. She just reads off the powerpoints for lectures, and quiz/exam questions are pulled straight from the powerpoints as well. Open note exams were by far the best part of the class.
Absolutely take this class with Professor Welch you will not regret it. She truly cares about her students and makes the lectures engaging along with in-class guest speakers. The work isn't difficult but the tests do require some studying but nothing crazy. 100% would take again!
I had professor Welch for talent acquisition course and it was online. We did have weekly quizzes, the occasionally guest speaker "papers" and discussion assignments. She also did offer extra credit, there is a group project that she offers a lot of help with. And also, the exams are a little tough but other than that, I enjoyed her class!
Professor Welch is a great professor. Her online classes were easier than her in-person classes. Tests are from her lectures. Sometimes it is hard to finish 40 questions in 50 minutes if the questions are too wordy. Her courses were easy A if you read her lecture notes. She cares about her students and is always helpful if anyone reaches out.
Had very little time in my course to cover content, the professor details specifics of course material entirely relevant to exams, so be ready to take notes. Has high dedication to student success with frequent visits from other companies to discuss career skills. Additional supplementary content is required for exam success.
Not a bad class if you watch the lectures, supplemental videos, and take notes. Exams are lockdown browser with camera, but everything else is great. Weekly quizzes are easy, so are the handful of other assignments. But you HAVE to watch the lectures and other videos/articles. It's obvious she cares for her students and their success though.
Class is manageable, she's a great professor who is easily accessible and grades assignments fast. Exams were proctored but open notes. So you should plan accordingly and you'll be just fine.
Take Professor Welch as an online class, you will not regret it. Clear grading criteria, tells specific things that will be on quizzes and exams, and only has a few homework assignments. The class consists of 3 modules. In each one: 4 chapters, 4 quizzes, 1 homework, 1 guest speaker, and additional articles and videos. Take really good notes.
Professor Welch is great. Lowkey hard class tho.
Took her during summer. Textbook is free. I recommend to print out the lecture notes & HIGHLIGHT what she says will be in the test or quiz. The lectures aren't longer then 30 minutes. Take notes on the supporting videos and guest speaker videos as there will be exam questions on them. There was a quiz for every chapter. rewatch lectures before exam
Good professor and very clear on given instructions to pass her class. Very heavy with the material in all her lectures, so be ready to learn and pay attention. Take really good notes in all supporting videos/articles/guest speaker. Not an easy A class, so you need to make sure you accummulate most of your time preparing for each exam!
She is one of the best professors I've had since being at UNT. She is clear and concise on her expectations for this class. Very lecture heavy so take really good notes on her lectures and supporting articles and videos as they will be on the exam. She made this class very interesting even though it was hard. You will have to put in the work.
This class was pretty easy, as long as you show up to class, you'll pass. The only hard part of this class were the quizzes and tests. Both were open note, but they weren't easy. The professor does seem to really care about her students. I hadn't turned in an assignment due to personal reasons and she messaged me to make sure I was okay.
The best prof at UNT please take her!! She is a very sweet and genuinely caring professor. This course was really interesting and entertaining. She also gives hints about what will be on the quizzes and exams in her video lectures, it will be your key to success. Did I have to study hard for the exams? Yes, but it was worth it.
Welch is a great professor. She listened to me when I had issues at work and gave me valuable advice. She's very caring, and her lectures are interesting. Even though you have to read and study, she provides a lot of support in her lectures. If you pay attention and put in the effort, you'll pass.
the class was good overall there's homework and quiz every week but there like 5 questions in canvas no LD there's a few different discussion boards and 3 exams in canvas with LD with camera
One of the kindest professors here at UNT. It is encouraged to watch ALL the lectures and read the textbook (something I didn't do) to ace each exam. She is easily reachable through email and in person so that's a plus. This is not a throwaway class, you still have to put the work in for an A.
Great instructor. Everything is online. 16 weeks class which makes all the assignments very spread out. Exams are respondus lockdown. Easy class as long ass you do everything and pay attention.
