Make sure you do all the reading for this class. You have to work hard in order to get a good grade. If you try hard she will take notice. Don't slack in this class.
I think she was great at lecturing stat113; I am glad to see she is back for more stats courses.
daily homework, 3 exams , 1 project, and the final. All exams are open notes and multiple choice. Easy to pass because I did all the exercises in class and the homework. Will take stats with her again.... she is caring, show up do the work and pass.
after the first week, I am going to stay in her class. She explained everything we read on chapter 1. she is very organized, and made sure we were comfortable with the materials. The rest of the class is group work, which was fun. Love it
Loved her class
This was a great class. She is patient and caring...
everyone got an A in her summer class. Easy going
Caring and easy going. Listens to students concerns and makes stats simple... loved the class
Professor Lleshi is very sweet and will do her best to help if you have any questions. Tests are based on the exam review and you can put notes on index cards and use them during exams. As long as you keep up with weekly homework and project work you will do fine!
There're 4 exams and 1 final(count twice), she drops the lowest exam grade. The final is super easy and the regular exam is very similar to the practice exam. Just keep up with the video question (pre-class assignment), classwork, and homework. She's understanding and nice but she doesn't teach much, it's mainly self learn from the video.
Easy going, understanding and encouraging. Take her class and learn about statistics the easy way. There are Video and Classroom activities each class; 4 Exams and Final... exam questions come straight from Practice and in class work. Project was a tiny bit challenging, but she helped a lot with it. All you need to do is show her that you care A A
Please don't take this class if you're unable to self-teach. Doesn't explain a single thing, and makes it really hard to approach her. However, if you're good at math and self-study, you'll do fine.
This was the worst class I took. Its a self teach class and if you dont study you get an automatic fail. She doesnt teach you anything and then she piles up all this classwork, homework and video assignments. Get a tutor if you plan on taking this class. Personally I wouldnt take it again.
Tough class! The subjects are easy as well as the million assignments and homework, however, its a lot of content compressed in a semester. There's no lecture, just a bunch of computer tasks that you have to understand on your own. She is very strict but the program is set by the department, so she is not to blame. Take it, study it, and move on...
Lots of HW for each class, but they all count towards credit; she rarely gave zeros for incorrect answers. When I was really slacking she gave amazing feedback that made me catch up and boost my grade back to an A. She really cares and is there if you have questions. Amazing explanations when SPSS was required. All Exams had practices, dropped one
Stat113 is a SELF TEACHING COURSE. Every professor for stat113 doesnt necessarily teach. Theyre there to help guide you when youre stuck. It can get a bit confusing, but prof. Lleshi did help further explain what was difficult for me. All work is done on the lab computers, and we are given 4 exams and a project. All HW is pretty basic.
Like others mentioned, there is NO lecture. You need to show up and self-teach using the textbooks provided on Aleks. You will struggle and get a low grade if you can NOT self teach. Deadlines are short. This is only an easy class if you can self teach and can prioritize this class (remember short deadlines regardless if u learn it afterward.
okay. I NC/CR the class.
As a person shes very caring about her students and she wants everyone to pass. The material is given by the department so its not really up to her. The course work is most of your grade so just practice the hw and the textbook. The final is more about concepts and understanding so beware of that.
this is an online based class, and the content is very difficult. but it doesn't have to be when you have a professor who actually teaches you. if you take her, not only will you have no time for your other classes, but you will be dealing with an extremely inconsiderate harsh grader. take someone else if you want a chance at actually learning.
I am very surprised to see so many good ratings. My experience with her was AWFUL! DO NOT TAKE HER! she is very condescending and rude!!!! I only asked one question in the whole semester and after telling me she did not understand why I'd be confused she told me to got back to the book. This class is self-taught ONLY. No help form her whatsoever!
As a first semester freshman, she was a nightmare. Aside from the class being self-taught, she was not helpful at ALL. When emailed about questions, she took forever to respond and was rude with her answers. She expects you to already know the material. Tough grader when it came to the project, and did not explain why you got the grade you got.
One of the worst professors at Hunter. THE WORST GRADER. WILL TAKE OFF POINTS FOR LITTLE THINGS. Very bad communication. She is also very condescending and will make fun of students.
Very helpful. Went over and beyond the Chapter on the hard topics. Written assignments and XCs were very easy. Considered the situation and all... easy A
Actually the WORST teacher I have had at hunter. She is rude, unhelpful, impatient and ruthless. Completely not understanding or kind in regards to the pandemic, the fact that the course was taught fully online or that it was a summer course. She could care less if you put your blood , sweat and tears into the class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Horrible
The software of this course in the summer was extremely difficult. It was even unbearable. The professor wouldn't help with students.
You basically teach yourself on ALEKs and she will answer questions if you have any. But she doesn't teach at all. Sometimes she will make you feel bad for not understanding a topic or something which is something that I highly dislike because this class covers complex material that not everyone will understand.
Professor Lleshi is NOT a bad teacher! Don't be afraid of all these negative reviews. This class IS all self taught, but she is still here for you to succeed. The major grades consist of 4 exams, 1 final, and 3 data projects. She drops the lowest 2 quiz grades and 1 exam grade, and provides extra credit! Do take her, but don't expect an easy A!
You have to learn everything by yourself, she doesn't teach. Homework is on Aleks that drive you crazy. I wanted to drop out bc of her class. Lots of data activity that is just extra too much work, make you do spss and that is waste of time. Knowledge check very often on Aleks, a lot of quizzes, and 4 exams.
Her data projects are stressful. She assigns them in the beginning of class but will deduct a lot of points if you submit them after class ends. But the thing is these data projects have a lot of parts and are time consuming. But she will deduct points because shes like that. she also uses spss which will give viruses to your laptop.
You spend an entire semester on this program called ALEKs and the final is completely different from that. So, no.
Prof. lleshi was extremely accessible outside class. she was always willing to help and direct every student. she allows extra time. Stats 113 is NOT easy, dont expect to pass with an easy A, you have to work for it. 100% class based on Aleks. do not miss a day! or you will suffer later trying to catch up
I wouldn't say I achieved all A's but I definitely worked hard in this class and she sees that. Come to her office hours, explain what is conflicting with you, and take notes. Aleks is not that difficult if you put in the time. The professor is very calm and understanding, don't be disrespectful, and she will respect you back.
Professor Lleshi is extremely kind and caring. However the workload is immense. All the stat113 classes use the same program Aleks and the material is difficult. She gives intense data projects and is unclear with the instructions on those assignments. I am only getting a good grade because of the amount of effort and many students struggled.
The class is self-taught. I can't really say if she is a good teacher or not since most of the work is done online through ALEKS. Aleks isn't hard if you actually try, but don't expect to just do it without any effort. She did give a lot of extra credit opportunities to boost your grade so take advantage of it.
For me it wasnt easy, taking the course with her I can say was pretty manageable. She was understanding of the many things I had going on. She was able to accommodate me last minute, and she was not nosy into asking for real reasons why the work was submitted late. I dont except that from every teacher. As a newly freshman I learned statistics.
So is all hunter stat classes self-taught? When I mean self-taught, I mean you literally sit in front of a computer and read the textbook using ALEKS, while the professor sits at her seat using her P.C. If you need extra help, you are expected to go to tutoring where they will "teach" you. Hunter math/stat department is a problem. budget school.
she's the rudest teacher I know. disrespectful to students whenever they ask a question. so passive aggressive. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. you won't learn anything.
Horrible professor, doesn't know the material at all, when you ask for help, she provides examples that a first grader can solve that isn't remotely similar to the COLLEGE material, unreasonable amount of work, unneccessary amount of questions, rude attitude and behaviour, irresponsible, doesn't bother knowing if student understands material.
This system called Alek has ruined and taken over my life! The homework system Alek makes me want to literally pull out my hair because of how frustrating it is!! Youre literally sitting in front of a computer for hours to finish objectives and the objectives are extremely excessive per week!!! Take this class during the summer or never at all
Rude, irresponsible, and passive. Don't take her. She doesn't care about her students' wellbeing at all.
She doesn't even teach. All we do is use this program called ALEKs, and you don't even learn anything other than memorizing answers.
UNlike other reviews, I want to say that the Professor taught us how to think outside the box. I think attandance was great but with folks spending more time chatting on Whatsapp rather than listening. Gives great tips on how to get through with ALEKS and the coursef. She is very knowledgable, and is so far the only Prof. that answers questions.
She does not teach at all, just paraphrases everything ALEKs tells us. Her answers to questions don't even make sense. She is not sympathetic at all. Attendence is very important even tho you do nothing in her class but ALEKS (something you can do during your own time). You have to pay ode for math websites bc she can't teach.
Never replied to my email, ignored my questions, covered materials that were covered 3 weeks ago. Each time she would go over 3 questions from 3-4 weeks ago so we never learn anything. Pop quizzes for some reason are materials we never covered so its expected we will get a 0.
Try and catch her during office hours sometimes. She really changed my way of thinking and my anxiety level is not where it was before. Yes its a lot to do, but I am loving her class. She directs you, clarifies topics, works with you when you struggle. Real nice and caring person too.
i feel like a husk after this class. the entire course is based on aleks and a lot of it is memorization and not actual learning. i never received any sort of help from her as i had to learn everything myself through aleks and i still dont understand what im doing. im trying to censor myself because i could go on for days abt her but just avoid her
I had to take this Professor for my recitation class for STAT 1130, I really suggest you find a different recitation Professor. She would come late to class and wouldnt be clear with instructions. She does not accept late work and doesnt teach anything. She relied on Aleks to teach us. She also never responded to emails on time.
I randomly got this instructor for recitation for my statistics class. She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Looks like she hates her job and people overall. She muted everyone and disabled the chat so that students could not ask questions. Never knew correct deadlines or gave proper instruction. Also, very condescending. Avoid her.
DO NOT TAKE HER, if you have a chance to have another recitation professor, do it. She is very tough grading when its all her fault most students in the class do not understand since she doesn't give clear explanations, she doesn't give you feedback and blames students when we ask questions. She has made me feel stupid, doesn't help you understand.
Organized lectures, lots of practices and also strict. But if you miss classes you will be lost, she covers quite a lot. Take notes!!!
Does not teach, simply makes you do Aleks during class. Did not respond to anyone's emails for TWO MONTHS due to "email problems" (??) and would mute people who tried to unmute to ask questions during class. avoid her if possible
Stats was hard, but I know I made it through because of her. Very responsive, very caring, very accommodating at any time of the day/week. Took me through the course step by step via email, and zoom. I understood everything because of her own lectures and the simple language she uses to explain. Would take her again.
She is condescending and is not clear with grading and what she expects for each assignment. Had to download a bunch of software that sometimes didn't work for some students. The Data Days assignments feels so extra. You should take someone else.
She takes too long to grade. I have emailed her and she has failed to respond to it and it has been weeks. She does not teach at all. You will go to class and she will tell you to do Aleks the entire time. Her assignments weren't always clear. When you ask questions she will answer annoyed and make you feel stupid. Do not take her class!
Please take a different professor!!! This one does not teach at all she emphasizes on looking at a problem and teaching yourself how to solve it step by step because "that is how you learn." I highly recommend you choose another professor.
The professor didn't teach a single thing the entire semester. If you had computer problems, there is a 50/50 she just fails you. The entire class time is spent doing Aleks. If you are good at teaching yourself be my guest but if you need genuine help, you're better off spending your class period with the math tutors, who also suck.
If you want a professor who just sits on zoom during class, extremely passive aggressive, teaches you absolutely nothing, and grades based on nothing at all then by all means take her. I have never rated my professors before but this professor is just so unprofessional..HUNTER DO BETTER! When you email her she barely ever responds! Really just bad.
I don't recommend her class, unless you don't mind teaching yourself. She doesn't lecture and just sits silently during class while we do our work online. We use a website called Aleks, which you have to pay $80 to use it. She assigns unnecessarily amount of homework. You will be miserable all semester.
I took this class asynchronus and spent hours every single day working on it. I've never been in a more difficult class with so much work. When I email this professor, she doesn't answer until I follow up with her. Don't make the same mistake as me thinking an asynchronous class will be easy because this class will really make you dread everything.
I agree that this class has an absurd amount of homework on Aleks - even though it is online - it can take days to get through the objectives toward the end of the semester. However, this professor has been extremely caring, sweet, and lenient, giving you many opportunities to improve your grades. Visiting office hours is a must in this course!
I'm a straight A and a medical school kinda student, I work my butt off for every class and I aim for an A+. This class made me cry 4 times to be exact and was stressed the whole semester. she dont reply to emails, she's unfair with taking off points.. please don't take this class, it's the worst prof I have ever had in my 15 years of school.
Took her as a summer class. Biggest mistake! There is an excessive amount of work on Aleks, 4 exams plus a final. Also, you must do an independent project to receive an A in the class even if you pass every exam. There are also data days. It's just too much work for 1 class and she can come off rude at times. It's a 50/50 chance to get an A.

There is a lot of work, but she does work with you a lot. If you struggle, she is there to guide you step by step. She doesn't really need excuses; she simply accommodated me at every exam. I appreciate how human she is.
She graded everything last min and gave a bad grades that I don't deserve which ended up sabotaging my future career. Selectively responds to emails, she didn't respond to my email I sent for over a month. So unprofessional and grades nothing till the last minute only to fail you. Says she's nice all the time but all fabricated lies.
The worst of all
bad prof, grades to late

Too much work on Aleks, so much time to spend on Aleks than any other subject which makes your time to get imbalanced and your grades fall out in different subjects.

This class is kind of a pain, but the good news is that everything is based on ALEKS. Even the tests are based on ALEKS, and there's a lot of practice on ALEKS, so if you can finish those and practice them often, the tests should be fine. Lectures aren't really helpful, and I found Data Day kind of annoying.
Everything is based on ALEKS and the Zoom lecture is honestly pointless. She was helpful at times in giving us insights as to what we should study for the ALEKS exams. Data days are super annoying but not complicated if you follow the instructions and remember what you learned from the days she went over it. Final exam is on blackboard.
An app is required for homework, but the grades were not meeting expectations. Meetings did not meet the standards of a professional teaching/learning space. The professor is intrigued by technical issues, focus was not on learning materials.
Took this class as an asynchronous class. Should have just taken this in-person as there is more work needed to be done for an A. There was a mandatory project that needed to be turned in for anything above an A. If not, the highest grade u can get is A-. However, the professor did always remind us about the exams
every STAT113 course is exactly the same... just choose a nice prof and you'll be fine. they all use aleks (annoying website) and have the same end of semester project. take this course online its easier. lots of hw and strict deadlines. the work piles up so keep track of due dates. prof is nice.
I found this professor to be insufferable. She lacked compassion and seemed to have a disdain for students with learning disabilities who needed extra attention. Just as other people have expressed she will almost not respond to your emails for weeks. She's very FOS. Stay clear and take someone else's course.
Professor is not clear on instructions for assignments. Tough grader but also not fair nor does it make sense. No feedback or communication and this was an online course. Very dismissive and not understanding with the coursework. More focused on being paid than helping students succeed.
one of the worst classes I've ever had to take, I was taking this class along with organic chemistry, and if you have taken that class before yk how hard it is, this class was literally JUST AS BAD, not only did it require so much time with ALEKS, it literally gave me anger issues and the teacher is absolutely useless and unremorseful, STEER CLEAR
Do NOT Take!! Wow this professor does not care to see you fail. Insane amounts of online hw thats due almost weekly. Exams on Saturdays at 6pm!!! Like if people don't have a life. The rubrics for assigned work is unclear and confusing. She answers 1 email every once in a while. I've been at hunter for 3yrs now and she has to be the worst prof
I will say that her way of explaining certain complicated topics is amazing. She makes a complicated problem so easy to understand. SHe wants you to do the same -take one statistics and explain in a way that everyone understands. I failed this course the first time I took it, and when i took her -I was amazed by her dedication and lectures so much
Professor Lleshi didn't actually teach us much, she just relied on our asynchronous learning site, ALEKS. Speaking of, the lessons assigned for us to do were genuinely so much to complete in the time given (~1.5 weeks to do 20-30 lessons). She went fast when she did teach. Her exams use Lockdown Browser and timers too, so take that how you will.
