Easy Teacher, Hard Class...You Gotta Love the red leather skirt
mira is farken radical.
This class is Farkan fantastic!!! And she's a hottie boys!!
Professor Farka knows her stuff and make sure you come to class everyday. This is a very difficult subject, but she teaches in a way that makes it easy for the student to understand the material. The midterms are brutal and don't get me started on the final exam. I barely passed the class and I put in so much effort into the subject. GO SPURS!
Farka is a good professor, i hardly found myself confused about the subject, her teaching style is very thorough and she helps you everytime the subject gets hard, her midterms are difficult but if you are prepared, they can be easy, her final was the same as the midterms, just come prepared. She is a hottie and loves the Spurs so dont root 4 Kobe
Would recommend. She gives problem sets that are REALLY helpful for the quizzes and tests. Goes through everything thoroughly. HUGE basketball fan.
Dr. Farka is very nice teacher. She writes everything on the blackbord. Also, she gives Problem Set to student, So you can prepare for Quiz. She is also very helpful. TAKE HER
This is not an easy class. She is a great professor but she makes you work hard. This is a class you must attend. There is weekly homework, which can take up a lot of time. There is also 1 mid-term and a Final. That is what comprises your grade so you have to work hard to do well on them all. Although the class was a challenge I did learn a lot
Study the problem sets before quizzes and tests. go over them atleast twice. and you will do well. You dont have to go to class. I went once every other week and managed an A. the Midterms are easier than the quizzes in my opinion. biweekly quizzes. just take her.
She is nice, but can be a bit scattebrained. Her lectures are organized and her accent is cute. I visited her office hours once a week, but most sessions, she would welcome in other teachers, answer phones, pick up food... all while I was waiting for help.
not recommended to take this class. its pretty tough to pass her. find another teacher instead. She is not well organized and she does have an attitude prob.
She is nice, is willing to help out, and has a great curve. However, she expects students to be econometrics experts prior to the start of this class, which is the reason why I fell behind quickly. But that's more the school's fault than hers. She is also scatterbrained, but nevertheless a nice professor to talk to.
Highly recommend taking her - she uses straight up examples exactly like those that will be on her exams and is totally friendly. Has a super student friendly curve and doesn't require you to go to class. (but go if you want to learn) Take her!
She gives uber high curve and exams that's similar to her problem set. If you go to class take good notes and do the problem sets it's going to be a easy B. If you fail her class then you probably got a brain size of a pea.
this class is HARD. she is a good teacher in the way that she does examples in class. HOWEVER....her exams are MUCH MUCH MUCH harder than her problem sets, and in class examples. average study time for one exam is over 10 hours. so no cramming because you will be screwed. she is funny, but hard. dont recommend her to anyone, find someone else..
Very hard class, she is nuts about calculus, so the course is like taking calculus again, the exams are nothing like the material she gives to study, she never uses the same words to describe a problem, so it is hard to solve exam problems cause she don't describe things the same (not consistent). Overall a very nice lady, gives curves & extra poin
Hard. But she is nice and gives great curves, but still hard
More like a calculus class then econ. Funny teacher and interesting but a lot to learn. The midterms and finals are all written and HARD!!!! she gives a really good curve though:)
that final is killer!!!
Farka is nice and funny. Class is basically a math class. Test are somewhat difficult. Study guide and problem sets kinda help for the exams. Exams more difficult then the review stuff. She does curve and there is extra credit! I ended up with a B+
Class starts out pretty easy but gets hard towards the end. If you go to every class (no book) and do the practice problems then you'll be golden. She covers everything extremely well. Cute accent, likes the Spurs.
A lot of material to memorize. I didn't pass b/c of poor planning on my part. Don't take this class with other classes in which you have tons of material (like stats). Also don't sit too close to the front b/c this professor doesn't wear deodorant. I got an asthma attack when I sat in the first row! Good luck.
This class is not easy. Prof is very good and explains things in detail. Shes engaging and fun. Do the problem sets again and again. Exams are tought but extra credits and a general curve helps a LOT.
Professor is friendly and very approachable. I took this class at night which is always a pain but ended up being OK. Attendance is extra credit but you should go to do well. Professor is funny. Huge Spurs fan.
Class gets pretty heavy towards the end. Prof explains things well, but you have to do the work. Problem sets and practice tests helps; also extra credit inclass work helps with material.
Lots of work to prepare for tests...
Class too difficult for a night class. Lots of math and material. She goes over things but sometimes too fast.
This professor was a Wall Street guru. She is extremely smart and doesn't know how to explain things in lamens terms. This class is super fast and hard to follow. Don't make things more difficult than they need to be, just take it with another instructor who will keep you from snoring in class.
ECON 515 She is very energetic in teaching. Exams are much harder than any practice problems. I read the book, practice quizzes, go over her lectures, and files posted on backboard several times, still got only B+. 10% of the exam came from something she never discuss in class. So only you know that before, then you will get A.
Her tests are just like her HW so if you can do well on hw, test shouldnt be a problem. Book is very helpful in understanding and she does give EC for attendance. I got an A and didnt find it hard though the class average wasnt so great. Just read the book prior to exam and do Psets and youl be fine. Nice&helpful and also energetic(very)
Maaan she has the most provocative clothes.... Lol but her tests are wack!! Nothing like the hw... In my opinion lol
Overall a really good professor. She is entertaining and makes class interesting as possible. Genuinely wants students to to well. She knows what she is talking about and always willing to help. She definitely teaches class at a higher level. Only 4-5 Hw assignments and 3 exams. The exams are tough but straightforward. Would recommend taking her!!
I would recommend to take her class. She is very clear about what will be on the exams and she makes the class interesting.
Look I never even bought the damn book, never studied an only listened to what she said n class, an easily got a B-. By far best Econ teacher i've ever had.
Extremely well versed in her subject. Do not feel intimidated by this however, ask questions and visit her office hours, she will gladly help you. She would rather you know the subject by bothering her with questions rathe than not having a clue on the subject. The material in this class is incredibly simple, it just takes some practice. A+
She's a great professor! I highly recommend her for anyone. Just pay attention to her lectures and you'll do fine.
Very interesting! I enjoy her clarity and energy. Most attractive teacher I have ever had.
Awesome professor!! My 201 class w/ her has taught me enough to get me thru 201,202,315,& 335 alive because she definitely teaches at an advanced level. It is a challenging intro class at times but she teaches the subject so well. The class/tests are straightforward. She is entertaining. Take her!
Has great powerpoints and goes over the material daily. Tests were kind of hard as well as homework. Study the Psets and powerpoints and you should be fine.
Fun class! Dr Farka is very empathetic, well-versed, enthusiastic, and attractive. She'll command your attention, even in the evening class. She assigns hw, a short writing assignment, and has elaborate lectures/reviews. She'll prepare you for her exams as long as you reciprocate the effort. Don't buy the book; never used it.
Shes the best professor at CSUF by far. I had her in the summer & she is extreamly helpful. If you dont understand her examples than its your fault not hers since she writes out every step. She gives extra credit and tells you what to expect on the tests. She is HOT! You will actually want to go to class& she is really helpful! im taking her again
She does a good job of explaining the material...BUT, she almost over explains the information. I left irritated after every class because she kept on repeating the same information over and over! This may be good if you are a slower learned, but if you pick up things quickly- you might get annoyed. Lots of extra credit, and don't buy the book...
i absolutely loved her as a teacher. it is somewhat challenging material but she does everything she can to make sure you are well informed. if you have questions, she would be happy to help you. you don't have to go to class, but you get extra credit for it. also, if not using a textbook, you absolutely must go to lecture or you will fail.
Difficult class and material, but she is really good at explaining the material. Completing and studying the Psets is crucial for doing well in the class. Definitely a lot of fun. Talk to her about basketball.
Took this class in the summer and loved it! Class material was tough but she explains everything. Plus, SHE IS SO HOT! I had a hard time concentrating b/c I was checking her out so much! Curves, indeed!
she is helpful and kind :) but the class is hard but she made it easy I recommend to take this class
great teacher, fun and explains material well. class is hard. two midterms and a final. lots of homework but also a lot of extra credit opportunities.
This is a hard class but mainly due to the fact that the exams are overly difficult. The trick to doing well on the exams is to memorize the study guides, yes the whole thing. Also know how to graph and do the calculations, make sure you practice those and memorize the formulas. Don't buy the book - never used it. Her notes are good.
Great professor, I wish every professor was like her. She makes a difficult subject more palatable and breaks it down to it's fundamental elements. She is an expert at what she does. Loved her. Would definitely recommend her for all econ courses
She is nice, approachable but her teaching style needs improvement. She casually repeats the SAME example over & over to placate the 5 students who initially didn't get it while the rest of the students become bored, disinterested which makes it hard to concentrate. Her essay topic doesn't translate well to actual real world economics but its easy
She is really intimidating at first, but once you know how she teaches and her personality, you will really enjoy her. This class was kinda hard for me but she was really helpful and gave out a lot of extra credit. Go to her office hour if you need help and study the Pset! Its really helpful when you're studying for the exams.
She was a great professor who would help you with anything you needed help on. She wants you to learn not just guess for test. She curves grades and finals so do not drop if you are not doing well. Trust me, you can pass with failing test grades.
This class was somewhat challenging. At times I understood what she was talking about but then she would confuse me. Her exams are somewhat difficult so you really need to study for them. She curves grades so that helps and gives a lot of extra credit. HW is on Aplia which consists of two parts (second part is hard). 3 exams and one paper.
Her examples were hard to follow. Along the lines of "if this country makes computers and this country makes cheese, how many kittens do they trade." Difficult to follow and the classes are quite boring as she spends the first 20 minutes trying to get the projector to work and talking about how much she drank and the basketball team in San Antonio
I hate Econ! But Professor Farka made the class as pain-free as possible because she really made it possible to do well if you put in the work! There were weekly online homeworks, 3 exams, and 3 extra credits. Oh and she held reviews before exams. She's also readily available to answer questions via email or at her office hours. Take her!
Professor Farka is straight forward. Expect to actually put some time into Econ 201 or you will not pass the class. It is challenging, but if you take the time to study, there shouldn't be any problem -online hw -2 midterms, 1 final -essay paper Also, she doesn't expect you to go to class but don't cry when you don't get the grade you want
Great professor. Probably one of my favorite at CSUF. Very approachable and genuinely cares about students doing well. Do your part and you will do well. Gives chances for extra credit and does reviews before exams on her own time.
Lectures are clear. She explains everything so clearly during lecture that you don't need help from the textbook. She makes difficult finance very easy to understand. Exams are not easy, be ready to work hard. Make sure you participate in class or she would think all you guys are dead. A very smart, fun, and nice professor.
Amazing professor and will help you as long as you are making the effort to understand her class. My calculus is horrible, so this class wasn't too easy for me. Chances for extra credit, and if you don't show up for class, you will most likely not pass with a decent grade. Oh and she isn't bad to look at either :)
One of the best teachers around. She is one of the rate kind that is very smart and yet able to communicate simply and clearly. She works harder than any other teacher to provide examples, questions, study guides, reviews! Expect a lot of work on your end too, but you follow her guidelines and you will pass or get an A! A noble professor!
Textbook no need but must buy the code to do the homework. Give a lot of extra credit and curve. Not easy class but if you put your effort in it , you can still get A. Come to her office hour if you have questions. Always want to help student. 2 midterm and one final. bunches of multiple choice , problem solving and learn-smart from Connect.
My favorite professor so far! I'm not an economics fan, but her class structure makes it easy to follow along. Textbook not needed, but the access code is mandatory. Two homeworks a week worth 20% of your grade. Holds review sessions before the exams and is always available for office hours. Easily frustrated when students don't get the concept.
She isn't tough, the topic is. Forget the textbook, you learn more watching her lecture & hmwk help videos. Expect to put in 8 hours a week between all the assignments. Plenty of E.C. and she drops the lowest hmwk grades which helps. EXAMS ARE TOUGH! She does review session right before the exam which helps a ton. Study guides 1 week before exam.
She's a good professor - passionate, good communicator, and seems to enjoy teaching. The class isn't really "hard" per se - it's just a lot of work. Lots of homework due and extra credit. My only complaints were that 1) the written part of the exams were pretty tough because they were very "different" than the homework, making it hard to prepare fo
Take Farka! Econ isn't easy, but her class will make you understand it. She provides you with the tools to succeed, so there is no excuse to fail this class. Study guides are so detailed and helpful. 2 HW due each week, 3 Exams, & LearnSmart (easy pts). I can't recommend her enough! I also love her humor! She is easy going and extremely caring.
I took the class online due to limited time. The material is very difficult and math intense, stating that in her syllabus. She give tons of material to assist. Her videos are in depth; hw is long and due weekly. She provides many chances for extra credit. Test are VERY difficult, but provides study guides. She is best Econ teacher I've ever had.
Professor Farka makes a difficult subject understandable. I thought I would never see calculus again, but it's back for this class! She jokes around and keeps things interesting. She offers extra credit (and I needed it.) The math is a bit heavy, but if you need to take ECON 315, I highly recommend Professor Farka.
Do yourself a favor, TAKE HER! I wish I would have taken her for lower division Econ courses. She really knows what she is talking about, and she really cares that you learn. There is a lot of homework, but it is great prep for the exams. She gives a lot of extra credit, as well as a generous curve. TAKE HER! Show up to class & office hours.
If you hate economics but still need that pesky upper division course to graduate, take Dr. Farka. One bit of advice, be sure to switch your phone onto silent at night. She loves spamming out e-mail/text reminders around 2 or 3 in the morning. Other than that; attend lectures, do the homework and extra credit, and go to her review sessions to pass.
Take this professor if you want to do 16 hours worth of homework every two days. Or if you want to spend every waking moment studying her lectures and materials only to find out that all of that is irrelevant because it isn't on the finals and midterm exams which make up 70% of your total grade. Or if you want to be given attitude when asking help.
She is one of the best professors at CSUF. Her class is not easy; however, she does whatever she can to make sure you succeed in the class. If you want to learn something useful and are willing to put in the work, take her!
You can use online "sources" for your online homework and quizzes. There's a chapter posted every week (recommend reading in order to pass), do chapter examples, and go to her office hours for any questions. Extremely accessible through email as well. As long as you put in the effort, I say you can get a solid B. This is a class you can't slack in.
Prof. Farka really breaks down the material so that it's easier to understand. She assigns a lot of homework due weekly on Sunday nights, but it really helps for the exams. Although, she could come off as rude sometimes, she's passionate about the subject and will help you, and she responds to her emails fast. An A is doable if you do your part.
always hated economics, but Professor Farka really knows how to teach. Gives so much extra credit and curves the midterms. Studying or doing the homework does take me like 6 hours a day, it's a lot of work but she makes it so easy. She's always available even though its online. Video & Text lectures. Just awesome, def recommend! I think ill get a B
I took Farka for the 5 week accelerated class and my god, it is tough. But she is amazing at lecture, she gives good examples, and a LOOOONG study guide. She gives you what you need to pass but this is not an easy class. You have to work for it, but she definitely helped with giving extra credit and a slight curve to the tests.
Professor Farka is kind and caring. She makes herself available to help at all times of the day. The class is a lot of work, but she uses a heavy curve and gives lots of extra credit.
She's very caring and wants her students to pass, puts on extra credit opportunities, online resources extra office hours. Always willing to help. Econ 315 is a hard course and I know many people have failed it. But with Fraka if you pay attention and do your work guaranteed you're getting desired grade.
Professor Mira made sure I was added to the class. She was the reason why I graduated on time.. She is a great and caring Professor. Unlike many others, she always wants to support their students and makes sure they do their best and pass her class. She always ready to help and answers emails as quickly as she can. Take her. She is the best.
Very accommodating and great at responding to emails. She cares about her students and wants everyone to pass. Econ315 is an extremely difficult class, with lots of homework. The material is difficult and time-consuming. However, she is a great professor and makes herself accessible at all times!
No easy pass, she gives 2-3 HW a wk. MUST watch attnd lectures 6 to 8 vids 30 mins each. PPT practice q's (w solutions) Now attmpt HW (2 attmpts dsnt show right or wrong) BAM weeks over new HW and lectures assigned. Can't slack! She curves, gives EC, responsive, helpful. Difficult material, low class avg. Required algbra and diffrtnl Calc. GPA 3.2
Honestly, she's very sweet and tries her BEST to see us succeed but this class is absolutely brutal. She posts LONG lectures every week and 2-3 HW's a week so expect to work non stop on this class. The topic is DIFFICULT but she gives curves and extra credit DO IT, a lot of people are on the same boat with a low test avg. but living off the EC.
Very accommodating and great at responding to emails. She cares about her students and wants everyone to pass and will do everything she can. Class is extremely difficult class. The material is difficult and time-consuming. She prerecords lecture videos instead of live lectures which are well-made compared to other profs.
Professor Farka has got to be one of the best professor I've ever taken. Clear, organized, very straight forward, videos of the lectures simply amazing and easy to understand. Test may be somewhat difficult, but provides a curve and EC on every test, and wants students to succeed. IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A CLASS WITH A PROFESSOR THAT CARES, TAKE HER.
She is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. She was always available for office hours and she always had a fun time in class. She was there for her students. Review her study guides and if you do them like the back of your hand, you will pass. This is not an easy course so be prepared to work for that grade. Overall, she is amazing!
Rude, snarky, and annoyingly charismatic. Flaked on two scheduled office hour appointments for tutoring. Loves wasting time talking about the god-awful San Antonio Spurs and uses really odd examples to explain the material. Seek out someone more caring, professional and dependable-especially when you need the office hours.
While it's true that her lectures are heavy, they're worth it and she's extremely thorough. She tries her best to help you, even with the asynchronous class. STUDY, because the exams are difficult. Weekly homework, don't fall behind! She cares and it shows, but of course you need to be the one to reach out. You'll work for your grade, be prepared!
The class was asynchronous (100% online), but she still held many review study sessions. Lecture videos are about 2 hours long. You have to work for your grade in this class. Don't expect to get an A if you aced ECON 201 & 202. It's math-heavy, and you need a good understanding of calculus (partial derivatives especially)!
Great professor but very difficult subject. Summer made it even faster so normal semesters might be more manageable. You need to know some calculus, spend at least 20 hours a week watching lectures and doing the assignments. She is extremely accessible (even at like 2 am). Whatever grade you get is exactly what you deserve, just put in the work!
Professor Farka is the best Econ professor at CSUF! She makes an extremely difficult subject less daunting & is available for help every step of the way. One midterm & one final, each worth 40% of your grade + LOTS of weekly homework. This is a difficult subject but her exam reviews, study guides & clear organization allow for success. Take her !
literally the most intense and exhausting class I've EVER taken. yes this was an online class but her recorded lectures are stupid long!!!! I'm writing this now to save u the trouble and MISTAKE of taking her class. her exams are really tough and are not so much based on the material given even tho she claims they are.
Ive never been catfished so hard on a Professor before.. be prepared to spend 20 hours on this class. Study guide and reviews sessions were completely different from the exam. HER LECTURE VIDEOS SOMETIMES ADD UP TO 4 HOURS.. its a hard course & she sucks at teaching. Videos are boring and an overkill. Need to find a better way to deliver info
These comments are tripping. Just take another professor that is better. DO NOT TAKE HER. A 50-page study guide that never shows up on exams and doesn't help. Videos are so long. She isn't good at teaching and sometimes she confuses the class. I give this teacher a Big L.
Get ready to spend over 8 hours on all of the lecture videos and homework. On the bad weeks, there are over 9 videos add up to over 3 hours. The study guides and extra credit reviews are not very similar to the exams. The exam questions take similar formats but much higher difficulty. Some questions are not even reviewed at all or in hw & lectures
Really tough class. But professor does care about students. Conducts long reviews. You do need to put in lots of work, but she helps with any questions you have
This class is math heavy and very quantitative. It is fully online, so be prepared to spend time watching the videos. Professor has put together lots of resources: exams are not easy, but if you go to reviews and do the extra credit (so if you put in the work), exam grades improve tremendously.
Videos heavy, very overwhelming. Only one try on the hw so you cant check if youre doing it right until next week but by then you have ten videos to watch & three hws to do. just put in work is an understatement. Unless you have no job & taking easy/less classes, this class is not for you. Exams are extremely hard compare to study guide
Professor Farka is super nice and very caring! She does do a lot for students to feel ready for exams. However, exams are very difficult! The material is crazy intense. Nothing really prepared me for exams. I study for hours to get an F on the tests. All that hard work to still fail. Stress, stress and more stress.
A lot of weekly lecture videos but I liked them because she puts a lot of efforts in those videos, and they are incredibly detailed. The subject itself is challenging so be ready to spend some time in her course. But she gives out A LOT of extra credits and curves for each exam which was nice of her.
Took spring 2021. Exams were most difficult I've ever had. Did well on all homework assignments but couldn't redeem from awful test scores. Extremely long lectures 5 hours of videos & lectures per week. Spent many days stressed out from this. BUT I retook class with dif. professor fall 2021 & got an A so there is a light at the end of the tunnel:)
This is a very challenging course in general, but Professor Farka does her best to help you succeed. She does a good job at preparing you for exams, just make sure you take the time to truly understand her lecture videos and utilize the study tools she gives you. The one thing is I wish the homework was graded on completion rather than accuracy.
Weekly long videos to cover material. Heavy HW 20-30 questions + problem-solving and LS. Get ready to spend 10 hrs a week on this class. Lengthy 2-3 hrs exam reviews (3x on the week of the exam) and not similar to actual exams. So many emails/remainders/texts at late hrs, 2 am. Too much work for 5-point Extra credit. Stressful class, not worth it.
Great Professor! She really cares that people learn the material and pass the course. She gives lots of extra credit and helps out with a curve. The material is NOT easy and you need to put in the work. but if you do, she will pass you.
Professor Farka really works very hard to help students pass the course. She reaches out to offer help, offers many review sessions and sends lots of reminders and emails. Curves heavy and lots of extra credits. Take her!
Best prof at CSUF hands down! Get ready to work hard but you will pass in the end with her curve and help
Lots of math. Lots of work and long videos. But you learn a lot in the course. She teaches well, the videos are long but very helpful and have everything you need for the course. Great prof.
She assigns HW that are harder than the in class lectures be prepared to think. Her exams are harder than the HW. She expects you to ask questions but her answers are vague. Youre walking on eggshells around her; she takes offense easy. Some positives are she understands the material very well, doesnt assign C-, and replies to emails quick.
I never had a professor so obsess with blaming the class for low exam scores. She gaslights you into thinking you are the problem. The problem is she has an odd obsession with putting material covered after the exam into her exams. She likes to ask questions why did you decide to get the vaccine? Im certain shes a misogynist. Everyone passes.
She sends AGGRESSIVE emails and notifications all semester. Plus/minus letter grading; dont worry she wont give you a C-. Her homework dont matches up with her lectures. She curves lower exam scores more than higher. Her grading criteria is not on the syllabus. She holds out on that after grades are done. Cant imagine why. 3 exams all 9 pages.
Her teaching style includes showing disdain when you dont grasp the material. She claims her exams are 5 questions but each have 3-4 sub questions; she keeps the exams. Youll find yourself in therapy due to her repeated personal attacks. She curves but is a tough grader. Enroll in something else and have a stress free learning experience.
There are some successful people that try to inspire and lead; Dr. Farka is not one. Her curves are geared to help people at the bottom and top NOT in between. She withholds her homework until after the lecture so you cant ask questions on it. Her way of help is through email or office hours. Careful though shes easily offended. 3 brutal exams.
You pay a lot of money for grad courses; dont waste it on this class. Unless you want a professor who belittles the class for low exam scores. Homework problems are not properly taught in class. She nitpicks any assignment during grading meaning youll receive a low score. Reaching out for help from her means youll be patronized by her.
The class is hard but you learn so much in it. She went above and beyond when class was struggling. She held extra office hours on Zoom, extra exam reviews, etc. The students that whine simply did not do the work. In all my grad courses, I learned the most in this class.
Weekly average time spent in this class: 12 hrs. 2-3 video hours, 20+ HW questions, 5+ Problem S, and easy 20+ LS questions. 5-point EC (a lot of work). 70+ study guide questions that don't help that much for the exam. I did all this thoroughly and still got a B. If only I would spend this time a in my major class I would certainly have gotten an A
What the previous review says is true. This class is a lot of work. Farka's class is a tough one and time-consuming that you will be left with little time to work on your other classes. I would have A+ on any of my other classes if I would devote this much, but not this one. However your Math skills will sharpen. My exam scores were: C, B+, B-.
This class is going to be hard no matter what professor you take. She tries to make this class as smooth as possible but you will be putting in a lot of work. You have to watch all of the videos and do all of the hw to pass. Some classmates said that the other professors they tried taking this class with were horrible so Prof Farka is your best bet
The class is super super difficult. Lots of math and derivatives. Farka does provide a lot of material and she helps a lot with reviews but its still lots of work. She does lots of extra credit and the curve is very generous. That's what helps
The most difficult class I've taken at CSUF by far and I got an A in Econ-201. Imo this class isn't even comparable to that class, but some people like making that comparison for whatever reason. HW also doesn't help at all with what's on the test. Professor Farka does make an good study guide for extra credit that will help a lot with exams.
If you have the chance to take prof Farka over the summer do it! Although it is a lot of work and very fast paced she really cares about students and will help you to pass. She offers extra credit and curves exams. Every. exam has a detailed study guide that is very helpful! Take her if you can.
Professor was very understanding and offered extra credit before the exams. Her study guides are similar to what the tests are going to be like. Definitely go the review sessions, ask as many questions, and practice the extra credit and study guide problems and you'll definitely pass. Very lenient grader and answers questions fast.
One of the best professors at CSUF. Professor Farka goes above and beyond for her students success in this course. In the end it is really up to you to put in the work and study. Not a given or free bee course. Expect to study heavily for the exams and make sure to complete homework since it helps your grade by a solid amount. Lectures are must!!
This was an extremely challenging course and I have a 3.55 GPA. Professor Farka is a phenomenal instructor. Her lecture videos are great, but there is a lot of information that you will have to memorize. Many steps that you have to remember to get the right answer on the homework and test. You have to practice and practice to do well Take in person
Professor Farka is great! She communicates throughout the course, provides study guides and has review sessions for them before each exam, gives extra credit, and curves exams (she is more than fair). Also, her lecture videos are very clear and thorough. Just like any other class, study and invest time to learn the material and you will pass.
Econ315 is hard, given that, she tries her best to make it as easy as possible. 3 exams non-cumulative, mcgraw hill hw & learnsmart. 2 attempts on hw & learnsmart is always 100% even if you get them wrong. GO TO HER REVIEWS!! She does problems exactly how they are on the exam. Extra credit & curve on every exam. Study guide will help you on exams.
She is so accessible, you can text her & she will always answer fast & is up till like 3-4am lol. She is willing to answer & explain every problem to you. Her lectures are long & she checks canvas logs to make sure you watch them which is kind of annoying but free points so don't forget to do them. Exams aren't easy, but she helps with reviews.
Honestly CSUF in general has most of the worst professors I have ever encountered in my life. They make things harder than they really are. It is better to teach 5 things and have all the students understand them perfectly than cram teach 10 things and the majority have no idea what is happening. She expects you to have no questions at all...
Dr. Farka is an amazing professor. She pushes you to your limits and makes sure that you LEARN. I forget tons of information after a semester is over, but I took this class a year ago and I remember every lecture as if it was yesterday. Her classes are not for the weak. I highly suggest that you take another professor if you want an "easy" pass.
Professor Farka is caring, she wants everyone to succeed in the class. The exams aren't easy but she reviews before the exam. The lecture is long, so there is lots of information to memorize. She offers extra credit for every exam and she curves as well. The study guide is very helpful for the exam. Definitely recommend her.
Professor Farka is the BEST professor in the Econ department! She provides plenty of study materials and prepares you well for the tests. ATTEND ALL STUDY/EXAM REVIEWS which she is kind enough to do outside of class hours. She is always accessible on REMIND and will answer any questions you have. I can confidently recommend!!
The class requires a lot of attention to do well. Lectures are 2-4 hours long, and homework can be time-consuming. She provides many opportunities to improve your grade and hosts optional Zoom meetings for exam reviews. She's on our side, trying to help us pass.
This professor wants you to succeed. The class is not easy, but you're in good hands with Professor Farka. You NEED to put in the time and effort to do well. Attend all optional Zoom reviews and complete all the exam review sheets.
Professor Farka's course is challenging but manageable with hard work. The lectures are thorough, and her review sessions are super helpful. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for exam prep!
Tough mean
She is a very sweet professor and truly has your best interest at heart. Make sure to watch lectures and ask her questions. She is a great communicator. Before exams she does reviews over Zoom where she goes over problems that are similar to exams. The content is difficult but not impossible if you apply yourself and ask for her help.
This is not an easy class. But, Dr. Farka goes out of her way to ensure you pass. Her lectures are very well organized and she offers extra credits, multiple review sessions, study guides, and generous curves. Her communication is one of the best I've seen. If you put in the effort, you have nothing to worry about. If you fail, that's all on you.
I took her for the Summer semester and maybe that's why it was so difficult. But my classes average on the first exam was in the 20% range... She grades you on whether or not you actually watch her lecture videos, she hosts review sessions but when you don't understand something, she gets rude and makes you feel dumb. TESTS ARE HARD.
Most overwhelming class I've taken. Expect 20+ hrs of lectures a week—7–15 videos per chapter, 3 chapters due weekly. It's exhausting and hard to keep up, especially with other classes or a job. If you want to actually learn without burning out, take someone else. Farka is not a summer professor
I don't know why she is rated so low; she teaches well, and you actually learn from her. You can get away with just having the lectures autoplay in the background and the week of the test study. She doesn't make her own exams, but her study guides are super similar. Overall, she's excellent.
Mean Professor. She kept hitting my laptop, so mean and rude.
