should think about teaching a HS class. throws people out of class for not doing their reading and doesn't explain what he wants on his papers, just kind of hands them to you without really telling you much. If you can take something else, DO IT!

Dr. J. is a decent person, but has his biases. People who agree w/his views treated differently than those who didn't. You suppress your true thoughts and feelings for fear of being shot down in class. Pop quizzes! Not enough clarity with assignments. Scary how much influence he has on young students who are trying to establish own identity.

Dr. J as I have found is to be rather ridiculous in grading. The reason why I say this is because he expects you to be completely prejudice before the class starts and not after the class ends. And for the people who are not prejudice to begin with, will not receive good grades and possibly fail this class. Not everyone is prejudice!!!!

Boring lectures, long videos/text, multiple weekly discussions, very unorganized, not easy to communicate with. Not clear at all what he wants or expects. If you challenge anything with your own opinion, don't expect to be graded fairly. Canvas is an organizational nightmare. This is NOT a professor that wants to educate beyond his opinions.

Assignments aren't hard at all but they are a lot of them and can be a pain if you're not into social justice. His Canvas modules are super disorganized but once you pick up his assignment patterns it's easy to catch up to. Just make sure you message him anytime you have questions and he'll clarify everything.

Dr. J and MCS105 was by far the best class I've ever taken! He definitely assigns a lot of reading and a good amount of HW so be prepared for that but it's not unmanageable. Through the readings, I learned so much in this class, and honestly think it should be a requirement. He also is very understanding of things and works with you! Dr. J -20/10

Very easy class with many small assignments. Group assignments were poorly thought-out and explained with resources being in many different place. Nice guy.

Group project had little to no information, shouldn't have been assigned during remote learning when half of the team members were across the world (literally). Words grading criteria really weirdly. Assignments hard to find in canvas. I would not recommend this class to anybody

This is one of the most organizationally flawed classes I have ever taken. Many of the instructions were out of date which caused our whole class a lot of unnecessary confusion. There were no rubrics to base your work on, he would dock points entirely subjectively. We had to dig through two-month-old assignments to find instructions for the final.

This group project is so unbelievably unorganized. I took a fully online class and my grade was judged off of others participation. He forgot to upload instructions for a 100 point essay and then finally sent out the instruction 2 weeks after the class had submitted the paper. Confused by instructions multiple other times. Dont take this class-.-

Unclear grading. Assignments are barely explained so you never sure if you’re doing them right. 3 smaller and 1 major group projects where your grade depends on other people which is stressful and time consuming. 2 papers. Too much reading and hours long movies/lectures. Expect to study as for 10 credits class for good grade. Textbook is free

He is a highly negative and hard grader. He docked three points saying what I wrote on an assignment wasn't necessary. He always makes comments on our assignments. Always negative even when it's an opinionated assignment saying you are wrong. Also extremely disorganized. Hard to figure out what he wants

Dr. Ernest Johnson is a very inspirational professor and I felt like I learned so much in his class. Yes, he is a tough grader, but that didn't bother me, because I loved learning about the layers of interesting and important topics that were covered in his class. I won't downgrade a passionate professor just because I didn't get a perfect grade.

This course is very assignment-heavy and Professor Johnson's instructions are SO over the top complicated. Assignment instructions could be much more simplified. He says so much nothing in an impressive amount of words. The online course organization in Canvas could be better. Would not recommend this professor.

Have never done one of these, so this is how I know it was bad. Insane assignment expectations with very unclear assignment instructions. Grades subjectively on objective work. Group projects that are impossible to coordinate online. The MOST unorganized Canvas. Multiple assignments weekly. Won't answer questions. Unsure why he's highly rated...
