Great teacher so far: 12 quizes in lecture and you can drop the 2 lowest, 3 exams counting final in lecture, 4 quizes in lab and two exams you can drop 1 lowest quiz, theres a WP and an unknown which is fair. dont buy the book if you dont want it she doesnt use it all notes are online. she explains everything very clear.i highly recommended her.

Erynn is the best Professor that I have had at MJC. She loves Micro! She's there to help you understand. Always anwers questions and has a great sense of humor. Lots of extra credti!! Would highly recommend her. Too bad she's not teaching other science classes!

Definitely a keeper. MJC should be proud they have her. Microbiology is her world, especially and she especially loves the nasty pathogens. I have no problem recommending her to anyone who needs Micro 101. And she has a great personality.

Had the privilege of being a part of Erynn's first semester. You can tell she is laid back because she wanted us to call her "Erynn" instead of Dr. Lucas. The class included a lot of information but overall it was easy. As long as you pay attention in lectures and do your assignments thoroughly the class will be a breeze.

She is an awesome professor! I was dreading this class at first but she makes the material fun to learn because she explains the material very well and is very funny, there's never a dull moment in her class. tests are sticktly from her powerpoints(which she provides) so its not a hard class at all.

Great Professor,MJC found the best replacement for Dr. Anderson. She has her own study guide so dont need book. Good grades for those who study,very fair but need to earn it.Loved the class

Never thought that I would take a micro class and like it, but I LOVED her class. No textbook required, all test on her lectures(which printable online)! I'm actually thinking of changing my major because of Eryrin's class!

Great Teacher. She sets you up for success but make sure you devote enough time to do well. She has an awesome personality and very easy going. She definitely knows her stuff. Put in the effort and you should do just fine. :)

AMAZING teacher! She is funny, and so nice! Always willing to help! Her pop quizzes killed me but if you study, you will be fine. She doesn't use the book, just powerpoint and you will never be tested on anything she doesn't teach. One of the best teachers I've had. If you are a cheater...don't bother. She doesn't tolerate it and I love that!

Erynn was one of the best teachers I've had in a while. She made micro very understandable and made u comfortable with it. Review each lab and prior lecture before classes as there are pop quizzes and u will be fine. No textbook needed. Highly recommended!!

Erynn is the BEST teacher at MJC, hands down. I am really going to miss this class. Labs are mandatory, but they are so fun. Lectures are not mandatory, but you really should not miss them. I learned so much. Assignments are fun and interesting. Take her - you will not be disappointed!

Dr. Lucas is the best professor in MJC. If you attend lectures and lab, you can easily get "A". You are wrong if you think you can cheat in her class, she knows all the tricks and she hates cheating. Don't get me wrong Micro is a hard course, but she made it fun and easy. Record her lectures, don't miss a class, and you will get "A", I got A.

Dr. Lucas is one of the best professors in MJC. She makes micro fun. Maximum 10 points for extra credit. No textbook require.If you study every single detail in her power point for the lecture and all the background parts and the questions in the handout for the lab, you will get an easy easy A+. best mjc teacher. Loved her class. She's young, smart and easy to get along with. Read your powerpoints and download a micro. e-book. Power points are really all you need. I didn't open my book once. Hopefully she teaches there til she's old and gray because she rocks!!

LOVED this class!!! Erynn is seriously my FAVORITE teacher of all my teachers up until now! She makes it VERY fun for everyone, she explains everything, and will ask more than once if you understood what she just lectured about! She also LOVES microbiology, I cannot WAIT to take her for micro! Best. Teacher. HANDS DOWN! And yes, don't cheat!

Study ALL slides and DO NOT take this class with Physio. She is very helpful and clear but expects students to study hard. Procrastinating and cramming will NOT be in your favor. Labs were super fun and exams were pretty straight forward. Study hard and dedicate your time to this class and you'll be fine :)

She makes the subject so fun and easy to understand! I took it w/ PHYSO 101 so it was way easy compared to that class. No curve but has some E/C. Homework is online. Pop quizzes! Lecture and lab exams will be easy if you have taken good notes on your PowerPoint slides and studied hard!

Dr. Lucas is amazing. First day, first thing she said was "If you dont like weird then you are in the wrong class, because I am weird." She is funny, easy to talk to, makes sure everyone understands, and gives great lectures. Power points are a must in her lectures. Just love her. Best Science instructor hands down!!!

Dr. Lucas is one of the best professors at MJC. She is very straightforward and super helpful. She is passionate about micro. No textbook needed. Everything is on her power points. Pay attention and ask questions when you need to. She's very quirky but it just adds to the class. Labs are easy and fun. You couldn't possibly regret choosing her.

Makes microbiology interesting and fun to learn. Will give extra help to anyone who needs it. Gives great lectures, tests are straight from her lectures, only need the text if you need further clarification. You have to study hard for the tests but its worth it. Although class attendance is not mandatory it definitely will benefit you to go!!!

Lectures are interesting & lab is a lot of fun & typically only takes about 30mins so you can leave early. Lab attendance is mandatory, lecture is not, but you'll do better if you are there. She is particular about certain things, so make sure you pay attn & follow directions. You have to study hard to get a good grade. Only 10pts XC available.

Make sure you really study all of her power point slides! She get really detailed on the exams! There are pop quizzes in lect and lab make sure to do well on them if you want to get a good grade! This class demands A LOT of time!! The class is not curved!

Professor Lucas is passionate about what she teaches which makes the class more enjoyable. She's incredibly smart. But she's very tough. You have to invest a lot of time outside of class studying if you want to pass this class. Study her lecture notes and the homework.

Lecture was real easy to follow! She makes you want to pay attention because she explains in a way that you can understand. She's very funny and random. Definalety taking her for micro. There are quizzes before every lab and lecture, not to bad tho. Its usually 5 multiple choice questions. Tests can be tough but if you study, you'll be fine

Dr. Lucas is hilarious and gives great lectures. They're not mandatory but since she gives pop quizzes it's better if you go. Everything you need to know is on powerpoint lectures that can be printed off ahead of time. Don't even buy the book. Lab is mandatory but almost every time you'll get out early. Lucas is the first science professor that actually made me enjoy the class. Her tests are tough, but they're based off exactly whats on her power points (She can get very detailed) There are pop quizzes so you don't want to miss class. I did not need the text book. She was super funny and was passionate about what she taught. Definitely recommend!!

Okay, at the beginning of the semester it was good, did not like the pop quizzes because they made me tense all the time . SO I HAD TO STUDY ALL THE TIME!!! but then came all the work that needs to be done. It was a lot!!!!! A LOT!!!! But you know what, I GOT AN A+ so am doing my happy dance now .oh yeah, oh yeah. STUDY STUDY HARD TO PASS.

I took professor Lucas' class in the summer (10 weeks) and, oh man, was it tough! All of her exams are based solely on her powerpoints. Memorize them all word for word because she can be pretty specific on exams. She has pop quizzes as well. I studied so much for this class and passed with an A! I recommend taking her during a 16-week semester.

Great Instructor! Loved her approach to lecture and humor. Don't miss a class, study her slides, do online homework ahead of time. I wish she taught more classes! Highly recommend!!

I loved Dr Lucas! I thought she was hilarious and made micro really fun. I was really dreading the class, but it has been my favorite subject so far. She tests directly off her lectures. I almost never opened my book.

Professor Lucas is probably one of the best teachers I've had in a while (literally). You can learn a lot in this class if you put forth the effort. This teacher gives you so many tools to succeed with providing notes prior to lecture, study guides etc. Labs are fun and impact your grade significantly. Erynn is smart. She knows a lot about micro. I don't think taking this course in the summer is a good idea. This was her first semester teaching in a summer course for MIcro101. I tried many times to get extra help from her. She either seemed annoyed or too busy to care. She is passionate in her teaching. recommend taking in full course sessions..

She is an awesome teacher. Labs are easy and you work in teams. She gives a little extra credit. Her lectures are online with videos. Her 7 week summer class was intense. 2-3 chapters a week, but if you take her in a regular semester it should be so much easier.

I was taking Micro 101 Summer class which offers 7 weeks of intensity workload. Lectures online with her voice recorded along with them plus the one with just the picture and texts. Compact with the materials for this class nothing more than usual. Lab was fun. She is fast with answering your e-mail, funny, and helpful. follow her direction exactly

Dr. Lucas is a very good instructor and fair with her grading. If you put in the work you will get an A. there is a lot of homework and a quiz every week but besides that no problem.

Very great professor! Very prompt responses via email. I enjoyed her class immensely and she is personable and fun to be around. There is a lot of assignments and quizzes and thus plenty of opportunities to loose "nickel and dime" points that will in the end add up to a lot; so, be careful! Be prepared for pop quizzes.

She is very smart and passionate about her field, it was really fun to attend her class, you wont regret taking her class but dont take this class lightly, she dont tell you whats going to be in exam , "all nitty gritty" information is her favourite and you should do fine if you study, don't buy book, she is super organized and really nice!!!

Hands down the best Hybrid teacher I have ever taken! She's explains all the material and has so much knowledge. Studying is a must. She is straight forward. I absolutely loved every class, and was interactive and a great learning experience. I would definitely take her again, phenomenal professor.

Fun, interesting class. Lots of material, but her lectures are amazing, and have everything you need to know about quizzes. Do not try to cheat, one of her pet peeves. I did the 7 week hybrid course, lots of studying and outside work, but do-able. She is awesome pay attention in lab, and memorize all chemical tests for your unknown.

Not an easy class but Micro doesn't get any easier than with Dr. Lucas. Her tests are straight from lecture and lab, so I recommend not missing any of them! You can only miss one lab, no exceptions! She has a sense of humor but be respectful. POP Quiz often and extra credit available.

Honestly I was so scared to take microbiology during the summer because it's a extememly hard class. But Dr. Lucas gives you everything that you need to study for her test. Her tests come from the online lecture. I love how she give you a bonus question after each test, they are usually just fun questions. I would take her again forsure

Hands down the best professor at MJC! I wouldn't say this class is extremely difficult but if you want an A you will be spending a lot of time studying! If you are confused then ASK HER FOR HELP! She cares about her students. She wants you to get an A but she will not just hand it to you. I took the hybrid class over the summer and got an A+.

Prof. Lucas makes Micro fun. Her lectures are very clear. Theres about 2 HW assignments per chapter. Only 2 written assignments in lab. Be sure to get full credit on all HW and lab quizzes! Every point counts! Do not miss out on these easy points! Exams arent that bad. If you study the PowerPoints and make flash cards you will do fine

Dr Lucas is a great lecturer. She has a sense of humor that really grows on you over the semester. Her tests can be daunting with the fill-in and short answers but she is clear on what she expects you to know. She offers up to 10 points of extra credit. Certainly not the EASIEST A, but I would take another class with her if I could!

Dr. Lucas is awesome. Micro is VERY difficult but I found it fascinating so it was enjoyable for me. Studying off the lectures is vital to getting an A on exams. Got a very high A in her class but it was not easy. Biggest piece of advice: Repetition while studying the lectures for an A. Dont stop studying until you know EVERYTHING on those lectures

Probably the best professor Ive ever had throughout my whole college experience. Ive taken micro with another teacher who made everything seem so hard and I failed. Took Dr. Lucas and got a B. Micro is a ton of material but it doesnt get any easier nor FUN with Dr. Lucas. She wants all her students to succeed!

Professor Lucas was hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. She is amazing, organized, thorough, wants students to learn and do well in her class. If you read, study, and follow along you will definitely pass this class. I would love if she taught more than just microbiology, she is fantastic. I cannot say enough good things.

Know everything on her PowerPoint and youll get an A. Shes caring but would really make you work hard for your grade. I started with low test scores but I figured everything out in the end. I walked away with 92is. Study groups is also the key. Oh yeah, shes very hilarious. Overall shes a gem! Youre lucky if youre able to take her!

hybrid section. There is a lot of material to cover, so be prepared to review fully. Don't skip online homework or quizzes or labs. Tests are given during lab - if you review the power point thoroughly, you will pass the test. The test material is straight from the lecture - no trick questions. Take advantage of the extra credit.

This easily became my favorite science. You only need the book so you can do the supplemental online homework. Otherwise everything is based off of her lectures, which are absolutely AMAZING. If you follow her lectures you will do great, and I was able to find them all online on Media Share.... most students recorded her voice, but I was smarter

Professor Lucas is such an amazing professor. She cares and wants her students to succeed. She does give out extra credit opportunities, but only a total max of 10 points. Lecture exams are based off the Lecture PowerPoints so study them carefully, especially bold words. And as for the Lab Exams, study the black bold words and background info.

Organized, fair. Exams are hard but all the info you need is in the lectures. Labs aren't graded. There are some projects and some extra credit. She can be a bit nit-picky with grading so make sure you stick with her formats and pay attention to what she wants/expects. Put in the time studying. The grade you work for is the grade you get.

I LOVED her class. Everything you need to know is given to you. She answers all questions I had. Lab time was fun and I learned a lot. SI was the best! Without SI, I do not think I would of gotten the grade I did.

One of the easiest online classes ever. Watch the lectures and take the corresponding quizzes. Sometimes she would assign papers, but they're all based on really great films. The final is a book report you work on all semester. And that's it. Easily kept a high A the whole time.

Super simple class. It's for basic biology/the makeup of bacteria and viruses. She just posts little lectures that can be anywhere from 8 minutes to an hour a week then there is a short quiz. You do have to read one book of your choosing and write a report but nothing difficult. It's really hard to fail unless you absolutely don't do any work.

Dr. Lucas has been one of the best professors. I took her hybrid class over the summer. Shes tough, a lot of material to learn, but shes very straight forward in what shes asking/looking for. Labs were fun and interesting. I learned a lot. Highly recommend taking her for any class!

Took her in the spring. This was the best science course by far. Everything you need to know is in the lectures. She was ALWAYS there if & when we had questions and wasn't a harsh grader at all. Really awesome professor. If I could take her again I totally would! Take her! You'll learn so much.

Lucas cares about her students. She wants you to be successful. Her lectures for online are prerecorded and feels like an in class lecture. I highly recommend her. She gives extra credit throughout the semester. She is analytical so remember numbers like mortality% and outbreak numbers. She does Kahoot for review. Study the lectures!

Great teacher. 30 quizzes. First, students would read the pdf chapter then take a quiz no time limit only allowed once. There were two Documentary movies about disease that we watched and had to write about it and two essay drafts. Basically, the book report should be from either: The Great Influenza/The Ghost Map/The Hot Zone The Perfect Preda

Professor Lucas's summer class was easy going we covered about 6-7 chapters a week but it was extremely easy we just watched her lecture videos which were about 20-25 mins each and had to write on two documentaries. Also, towards the end, you have to do a book report which is a solid part of your grade so work on it asap!!!

She is THE teacher to take Micro with. 10/10. It's micro, so it's hard but she's fantastic and offers extra credit.

I was in the summer course, I really enjoyed the class! Labs were in person, all lecture online. I highly recommend taking her! She is accessible outside of class, replies to emails promptly. The lectures were heavy but not difficult to understand, just a lot of memorization. Ask lots of questions she will happily answer them! An awesome prof!

Do not just memorize, it's important that you understand the concepts to help you with the written portion of the exams. Do the extra credit. Don't give up!

Lucas is a good professor and provides good online lectures that narrow things down and make them easier to grasp. Labs are fun. She replies to emails promptly and grades fast. Only 10 points EC, so take advantage of it. No study guide, but she does Zoom reviews before each exam. 2 extra assignments, including a paper that is worth a lot of points.

Just finished the 7 week summer class. Her lectures are amazing. She is very clear on what she expects for exams and assignments. If you have a good study routine you should be fine. She pretty much hands you the material, you just have to study it. I spent an average of 25 hours a week studying. I passed with a very high 90.

Extra credit available, take advantage! Tough grader on written portion of exams, be specific. She has certain standards that you must meet. Textbook was free which was nice. Overall pretty straight forward with assignments & homework. Study and follow instructions and you will be fine, especially if taken in a full semester ohh & don't miss class!

Took summer micro class and really loved it. Lots of material so do not procrastinate and set aside time to study every day. Online txtbk is for hw quizzes only, most of your grade is from exams which come 100% from her lectures! Get some earphones and listen to her videos and read slides over and over. She is serious but also fun and approachable.

Exams are based on pre-recorded lectures so make sure to take good notes and study. She is very clear on what is expected in the class and although the course is difficult, I would recommend if you are planning on taking micro.

MUST take. Seems intimidating at first. Knowledgeable. Very clear lectures -- and tests based on lectures so take good notes and STUDY and you will be successful. She makes micro very interesting and labs are fairly easy, show up, do the work, understand what you're doing and go home. No grades for each lab so you can focus on learning. Love her.

This class OVERALL is just hard. No matter who you take. I suggest to watch her lectures thoroughly, taking notes as you go. Then rewrite the lecture notes she provides with your own notes and study, study, study. Memorization is key as well as fully understanding concepts. Exams are quite difficult but if you study a lot then it will be a breeze.

Micro can be challenging, but Prof. L's lectures are clear and engaging. The exams are tough, so take meticulous notes and study hard. Fortunately, Unstuck ai is a great study companion that complements the course material well. With dedication, you can do well in this class.

I would only watch the lectures the week before the exam and was able to pass the class with an A. Class was lowkey low maintenance & Lucas does not grade hard. Her labs were fun and she makes her lectures interesting. You'll do well in the class as long as you put in some effort. And participate in the EC opportunities, helps in the long run!!

I cannot put into words how thankful I am for a professor like her. She has a super clear grading style, is extremely personable, and is very passionate. lectures aren't just her throwing information at you with a power point, they are group discussions with critical thinking and brainstorming. Best class I have ever taken, no doubt in my mind.
