Great professor!
Excellent teacher!
I genuinely respect this professor. He helped me when I was struggling, and he's ultimately the reason I was able to progress to a university after struggling with a previous instructor. I highly encourage that you take his classes. Fantastic teacher.
He is an okay professor. He has some boring lectures so you may need to reread and get help. He answers questions in class and during lab. I personally would take if you want to fulfill the requirement but I would not recommend taking his class if you want to learn Computer science.
He is a very good professor. It's really easy to learn because he create useful lab about the lecture of the week, he is always there to help. I learned a lot.
Esmaail is a very nice person, but the class is way too easy. if you are taking this class to prepare for CS M20 or M30, try to get another lecturer.
Great professor! He tries to make lectures enjoyable and engaging, makes an effort to understand and answer all questions, and he even learns the names of his students. On top of that, he explains everything very clearly and concisely and makes sure to pause if anyone has questions. 10/10.
Hands down one of the best professors here. A great lecturer, very intelligent guy, tries to keep material interesting, makes difficult material easy to understand. Also very friendly guy and easily approachable for questions. Lectures can be boring but what do you expect from a 90 minute computer science course.
Such a good professor but obviously not the easiest class. Very kind and caring about his subject. You will learn a lot.
Esmaail is a great professor who truly cares about the success of his students. He does a great job at explaining the course material in a way that is understandable to students of all coding backgrounds.
Prof. Nikjeh was a fantastic instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable, but more importantly he teaches in a clear and empathetic fashion. He creates custom examples and posts them in canvas. His teaching style revolves around a strong commitment to his students. I took this course Spring Term and am glad he was teaching it.
Great CS professor who explains things very well. Nice and very calm. I learned a lot. One of my favorite professors so far.10/10
Prof. Nikjeh is the best CS instructor I've had here. His lectures are pretty easy to follow and he does a good job of doing a lot of examples. He also uploads everything he ever writes out in Canvas so that is helpful too. I struggled with programming and I found him very willing and able to go above and beyond to help students understand.
this guy is so boring. you can't hear a word he's saying unless you sit in the front row, and all he does is read word for word off of the lecture notes he posts on canvas. there's no point in attending his classes. if you want an easy A, take him, but if you want an enjoyable, engaging class, look elsewhere.
Great professor. Lectures and lecture notes are very clear and helpful. The homework, projects, and tests were fair. The material is useful and very applicable. Probably the best teacher to take Java prog. with. Very knowledgeable 10/10.
He's overall a really good teacher. He explains everything relatively well considering it's a pretty intense programming course. The projects weren't too bad. I learned a lot.
He is an amazing professor. I do believe it is a challenging class but with a little hard work, you can do it. He explains lessons much better than the book with more examples and that is why it is important to always ask questions and come to class.
Awesome professor. His lectures were clear, and he's really good at answering our questions. Gave us life advice during the semester. Should be easy to get full credit on hw/projects if you start early. Grading is pretty fair.
Fantastic professor and a genuinely nice guy. He's very respectful and teaches well. Attending his lecture is always a joy, and his exams are of reasonable difficulty. They're the type of exams where you walk out with a better grasp of the material than you had when you walked in. He gives a study guide for each test too.
By far the best teacher you can have at the Moorpark College. He is very nice and helpful. If it wasnt for him I dont think I would have understood the material as much as I do. If you want to do well GET HIM.
Professor Nikjeh is incredibly friendly, accessible and inspirational. Even though his course will make you work reasonably hard, if you put in the time and effort, you can get a high score on his exams.
I found him to be a great professor. The homework were interesting and at times challenging, but there was plenty of extra help available. He was a clear and good lecturer, and his exams were reasonable. 10/10.
He is a nice man, but he doesn't teach the same content that he puts on the tests. He basically gives out half the questions for the tests, but he doesn't help with studying the other half of the questions. Lots of extra credit. Very boring lectures and you won't learn much about computer science.
Fantastic lecturer, and the lecture notes he posts in Canvas are incredibly helpful. Exams are challenging but doable. He's amazingly clear, seems to genuinely want you to learn. He is very nice and helpful. 10/10
Prof. Nikjeh is an incredibly nice and helpful professor. He always has a smile on his face and cares immensely about his students. The course is a little challenge but I learned lot from his class. His lecture notes are great.
Prof. Nikjeh is by far the best professor that I've had at Moorpark. He is super caring and will really help you out if you're struggling. He really wants you to do well. CSM01 was my first experience with programming and I really struggled at first but it gets better as the class goes on.
A good and knowledgeable professor who really takes the time to make sure you understand the concepts. Fair in grading with curves and always helpful. By far one of the best profs. I had at Moorpark college.10/10.
Run fast, run far! I have never had experienced a more frustrating online class, hes unorganized, late to his own lectures, his heavy accent makes his 2h daily lectures a struggle. He has 2h tests starting @ 8pm & he changed the grading curve after our final without notice dropping everyone's overall grade and didn't even explain himself not cool.
Prof. Nikjeh is very knowledgeable, caring, and willing to help his students. I was once worried that one of our assigned tests would conflict with my work schedule and he was willing to let me take it at a different time and date. I was very appreciative as I felt that most professors wouldn't have been willing to do this.
A great professor! I had him all online this semester and it was my first time taking a comp sci class. His lectures were great to watch back through and he gave us great notes to write code from. Whenever I emailed him a question or if I was unable to take an exam at a certain time he responded quick and was super accommodating. 100% recommended.
Instructor Nikjeh is highly knowledgeable in SQL and databases and presented the course subjects in a well thought out and organized manner, and in a fashion for best learning. He assigned a medium level of homework and the tests were difficult but fair. I would recommend Instructor Nikjeh.
Professor Nikjeh is very knowledgable and will make the concepts easier to understand. He teaches very well and wants his students to do well. Is very clear with communication and responds back to students quickly. Would definitely take him for future classes!
This class was a joke. The tests didn't reflect the material we went over the lecture notes and lectures. The lectures are boring and hard to understand. The teaching methods are outdated. For a computer science teacher, you'd expect them to be computer savvy. Not allowing digital notes for an exam in an online class is insulting. What a joke.
I stopped watching the re-recorded lecture videos midway into the semester. The lessons were hard to understand through the think accent and the simple regurgitation of the lecture notes isn't a valid teaching method in my eyes. I paid to attend this class and I did not get my money's worth. The material is fun to learn. Just find another teacher.
Very straightforward class. Assignments were fairly simple and what we covered in the week they were assigned. Notes are helpful and detailed. Tests are not too difficult and if you study the notes and assignments, you should pass fairly easily. Teacher can be quite boring and can also be a bit hard understand at times because of the heavy accent,
Although this was mostly an asynchronous class, I actually learned a lot. You are just graded on discussion posts, coding assignments, and 4 quizzes (including final). I can't give him a 5 since there really wasn't connection with him, but he made things easy. I highly recommend looking at his posted lecture notes and the textbook if possible.
Prof. Nikjeh is wonderful at explaining challenging concepts and making CS both practical & enjoyable. He is very caring to his students and his lectures are very detailed and easy to follow along. Fair grading and easily accessible in office hours. Would definitely take more classes with him!
Took this course as a transfer requirement. I am a psychology major with no previous background in any computer science language. I was super nervous about taking this C++ over the summer - 6 weeks. Pre-recorded lectures, super in-depth, and very easy to follow. A lot of his homework/exams are very straight forward. Lectures helped me succeed.
It's kind of rough taking him online, he's a bit hard to understand on the recordings. For most of this class I just read through the textbook and skipped the lecture videos and I did fine. The tests are easy, and Nikjeh is reachable outside class.
Not sure how his in person lectures are, but his recorded lectures are the worst lectures I have come across throughout remote learning by a large margin. He talks extremely slowly but doesn't explain at all, so you end up with very long lectures where you don't learn a thing. Reads lectures directly out of the book. I learned nothing in his class.
he's a great teacher with a very straightforward intro to c++ class. Everything makes sense and if you do the work, you will get an A. his lectures are very helpful and he won't hesitate to help you out if you need it.
He does not encourage the class to use the textbook, only the lecture videos and notes. Even then, his video lectures are boring and drag for too long! You're better off watching YouTube tutorials! The study guides he gives do not help much. If this is your first-time learning Java, take a different teacher. If you want a refresher course, take him
He gives homework based off of the lecture notes and usually everything you need is always there. There are also video lectures you can go through if there's something you quite can't understand properly. In addition he holds office hours for extra help or he will send you a specific part of the notes for help. Overall a well rounded teacher.
Great professor for my CS M10DS. The lectures are filled with information for you to be successful in this course. The course entails homework, discussion, and exams. Overall loved the class and the professor. Professor also responds to emails and questions pretty quickly.
Esmaail Nikjeh is a great teacher and lax grader but he is also not that great at communication. A lot of the tests don't cover the lecture material at all and they feel out of place. Other than poor communication and tough tests, he was a pleasure. Easy grader and cares about your learning. I recommend taking him, just pay attention!
He is an amazing professor for programming classes. I do believe it is a challenging class but with a little work and dedication, you can do it. He is always available for you. He explains lessons much better than the book and that’s why it’s important to always ask questions and come to class. I highly recommend that you take him !
By far the best CS teacher I have had. His lectures are super easy to follow, making a hard class not seem as bad. He posts all of his lecture notes online and they are very organized, and easy to follow. Fast response to emails. Super nice!10/10.
Professor Nikjeh is the best professor at Moorpark college. He gives clear instruction, his grading is fair, no death by power point, and he is funny. Warning though, every class he covers a lot of material. skip a class and you are going to be far behind. You will learn a lot from his class.
Best Teacher you could have for such hard material. He genuinely cares about his students, and will work hard to make sure you are doing well. Be ready to put the work in though. Exams are based on class lectures and examples. He really helps students to learn and get good grades. 10/10.
This is my favorite professor of all time. Seriously. He genuinely cares about his students and personally told me that he is passionate about teaching others. He is very intelligent. This is especially important in the field of Computer Science. Every CS professor since has only made me realize what a valuable instructor he is. A+
Professor Nikjeh is one the best teachers that I have had! He genuinely cares about each of his student's success, and will be more than happy to work with you if needed. The exams are fair.
His lectures are extremely looong and boring. Very hard to follow and the notes he provides are just copied from text. The worst part is he provides zero practice work. In computer programming practice is everything. I know that he is trying to save money with the no textbook, but we really needed to Pearsons MyLab to practice what we are reading.
He is an amazing teacher that cares so much about his students. You really couldn't ask for a better experience learning C++. He also took the time to answer questions respectfully.
Pretty average college professor. Pretty average college class. Not too difficult. I don't really have any complaints tbh
He is such an amazing professor. I am taking him next semester as well and I cannot wait. He always makes sure that everyone understands the material before he moves on. He offers lots of extra credit opportunities in the class. You do need to study and pay attention in class but he makes every class fun and interesting.
He genuinely cares about his students and he's very accessible outside of class. This man's a legend. He's willing to go over any homework problems in class or in his office in full detail. so it's up to you to make sure you're on top of your stuff. Choose him when it comes to your time.
Really awesome professor. He cares about his students and the course. He is extremely knowledgeable and his lectures are very informative. His grading method is extremely fair and transparent. I would highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn C++. Do homework, discussions and go through materials before tests and you will get an "A".
Hello, Overall, I had a great experience with Professor Nikjeh and learned a lot from him. I managed to do well in the class even though it was my first time coding in C++. The class can have an accelerated pace if taken over summer. So I recommend it to those who have some background in programming even if it is in a different language.
This professor is the absolute worst. It's clear he is knowledgable about the subject but his teaching method is antiquated. In a computer science class, he literally puts up a projector and copies the text by hand line by line. If you ask him to explain a concept he just repeats exactly what he already said, don't take him if you want to learn.
He really cares about teaching and knows the programming languages well. I love the guy. Nikjeh is the G.O.A.T of CS teachers. He is the best and most passionate teacher you will ever meet, and class is where you learn 95% of everything. GO to class and follow him, textbook not needed.
Prof. Nikjeh is the best teacher I have ever had. He is the reason I am still in Computer Science. He genuinely cares about each and every one of his students. Take the chance to introduce yourself, and get to know him, and you will be so glad you did. A few chapters are a little challenging but Porf. Nikjeh explains them with simple examples.
The man is an absolute legend. Very clear instructions. Pretty standard homework load though. Great teacher absolutely would recommend and take him again. Very reasonable let me make up a test outside normal hours that I had missed due to illness.
He was very clear and happy to answer questions, both in the middle/end of lecture and email. Tests were realistic and very doable if you know the material, he provides study guide and offers some extra credit. He's an asset to Moorpark college, hope he teaches much more!
Very good professor! He is very understanding and nice to students! Highly recommend! This class is very hard, but the professor explains concepts well and is not a harsh grader, if you show your work and logic to be sound, then you will at least get some points.
Really good CS prof. Very consistent with his teaching and class structure. Grading can be slow because he teaches a lot of other classes. Very fair and homework/tests are relevant to lecture. Study lecture documents, class examples, and study guide for tests. Wants students to succeed in school and life. Take Nikjeh for as many classes as possible
I don't know how he has such high ratings, Nikjeh is ok at best. Had 2 classes with him and both were boring. He just writes notes on the board and doesn't explain things well, gives vague answers to questions. Tests cover things not in lecture. We did almost no actual coding in the class, and he took until the last week of class to put grades in.
Lectures are very long but detailed, however there is hardly much coding done in class. Professor Nikjeh is very caring and wants students to get A's, but test questions can be a little complicated. However, I learned after the class ended that reading from the textbook is very helpful for the tests although he does not mention that to the class.
Prof. Nikjeh is one of the best CS prof. that cares about teaching. The lectures are great with easy examples, and he doesn't try to trick you or prove he is smarter than you. Awesome teacher, extra credit on every class activity is available.
Prof. Nikjeh was one of my favorite teachers I've taken so far. He gives you many opportunities to make up any missing assignments and really improve that grade. He answers quickly and always makes sure to remind his students about a deadline. There are lectures but he makes them worth it. would take again.
Codes programs along with you during class, which was surprisingly fast-paced for an introductory course but easy to grasp if you've taken one already. Projects were fairly straightforward, tests curved well.
Professor Nikjeh is a fantastic teacher. His assignments are straightforward, and his recorded notes were detailed and helpful. He is very understanding towards his students, and responds to his emails quickly, which is very nice. I would absolutely recommend you take his R programming course if you are doing it through dual enrollment like I did.
Prof. Nikjeh overall was great, however, is enthusiasm was directly correlated to class participation. About 5 people, including myself, actively participated of about 40. He is passionate, but students need to ask questions and engage the professor in order to make the lecture as great as possible. I had amazing post-class conversations with him
Prof. Nikjeh is excellent, and I would recommend his classes having taken two so far. Very clear on grading work, and always available to help. He is extremely clear on what he wants, and gives fair exams.
Definitely one of the best professors at Moorpark. He also took the time to learn every students' name in the class, and answered questions respectfully. He encourages students to reach out for help whenever they need it. Very helpful, enthusiastic, encouraging, and fun.
One of the great CS instructors I have had. Whenever I have questions or difficulties in understanding a concept, Prof. Nikjeh shows immense patience, ensuring I grasp the material fully before moving on. I love how the prof. promotes a classroom environment where everyone feels encouraged to participate & share their ideas. You will learn a lot.
I learned a lot from this class about DBMS and I got a job right away. Thank you Prof. Nikjeh for great instructions which helped me to learn database management systems and getting my favorite job. I highly recommend Prof. Nikjeh.
Prof. Nikjeh is a great CS instructor I have had so far. I learned a lot about Python programming. Don't forget to get the extra credits. He is super nice and helpful.
Be careful of the tests and especially the final otherwise the class is fine
There's so much to say but here are a few things because of the word count. Lectures from 2020, takes over 1-2+ months to grade assignments and exams, never gives any feedback on assignments or exams, will give hw questions that we didn't even cover that week. Oh and gives short 1-2 sentence email replies. Most disorganized professor I've ever had.
I really enjoyed taking this course during the summer. I learned a lot about programming. HW and exams were fair. Recorded videos explains everything in details and coding i R using RStudio. The instructor's helpfulness and quick response time were commendable.
He was an amazing professor and I would recommend him to anyone. The notes he wrote on the board were directly related to his Lab, HW, and tests I feel like I actually learned the material. He is also very friendly!
This is definitely the best class i've ever taken. If I could take it again, I would. It is pretty easy, but also really interesting, and good for getting DBMS jobs. I took other classes with him. Esmaail is a phenomenal professor!
Impossible to fail this class. Professor wants every student to pass and go into CS. Although the lectures could be formatted better but he is genuine and will provide feedback.
I love him. He is passionate about the subject. Super easy class. Everything you need to know will be in his lectures and recorded videos, no need for textbooks. It makes studying 1000X easier. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
This professor was so great! The class is really interesting for CS majors. He explains complicated concepts with simple examples. For tests he posts the chapter review questions that are very helpful. He curves the tests if students don't do well. Super nice person.
Best professor ever. Very easy if you use the study guide and lecture notes. He is very knowledgeable, and wants his students to do well. He really respects his students. I took his class my first year and whenever he sees me he says hello. I learned a lot from his class. 10/10.
Hands down prof. Nikjeh is the best professor I've ever had the pleasure of learning from after around 3 years of education. His deep understanding can be intimidating to some, but he really forces to basics of coding to give you the best possible understanding with simple examples moving forward. His programming notes are also superb. Nice person.
Very nice and knowledgeable prof. Puts all his lectures online. Tells you what he expects from you. Assignments are based on class examples. Explains everything well. Best teacher at Moorpark College.
Overall not horrible. My complaints are the video lectures are pretty low quality. But my biggest complaint is we are in week 15 of the semester and he still has not graded a single thing yet. You basically will never know if you're doing good in the class or not.
Wow. Prof. Nikjeh is an amazing guy. Very willing to help, and always spends time on things that you need help with. Knowledgeable, and always willing to "Digress"
Amazing, best prof in Moorpark college! Just goes to show you that it is about born talent when it comes to true teaching abilities. Sooooo helpful and Friendly. I learned the RDBMS and landed a job. Thanks Prof. Nikjeh.
This will be difficult if this is your first CS class. Professor Nikjeh is knowledgeable in CS, but his dry delivery during lectures makes it difficult to stay engaged for long periods of time. He follows the schedule on the syllabus, so be aware when the tests are and study ahead. Tests are based on the book, but there are study guides online.
Professor Nikjeh is a great teacher, in fact one of the best at Moorpark college. He is very friendly and is willing to help with problems. Take this class, you will learn a lot.
Great Professor. He also curve the scores so if you score bad in the test than you can at least get a C in that test. He also allows to complete the assignment after the due date. (he just wants you to complete the assignment and learn)
Professor Nikjeh was a great Professor. I'm a pre-med student who needed a B for UCLA, and I got just that despite the heavy content. He's generous with rounding, curves, and late assignments (just ask for an extension prior). His review guides for each exam are in themselves 80ish% of everything on each module exam and the final.
Great CS course, amazing professor! There were 2 programming assigments per week (1 HW & 1 LAB). As well as chapter exams (we did 3) and 1 final exam. He uses the final exam's score to one chapter exam in case you miss one. Both the exams and assignments aren't too bad with the study guides and lectures. Plus, he curves the grades by a lot!
Nikjeh is a kind professor. He is patient, he curves test scores, and he doesn't drown you in homework. C++ can be difficult, but I felt like I learned a lot in a low stress environment. If you can learn the basics and write functioning code, you'll easily pass. Although his mild voice at times almost put me to sleep, I'd take him again any day.
Professor Nikjeh is very reasonable in terms of expectations and grading criteria. When life situation arises, as long as you communicate with him, he will work the student for a resolution. I appreciate his kindness.
Professor Nikjeh is very understanding,he provides you with pre-written notes and lectures which help when learning the material. There are weekly assignments, discussions, and monthly exams. The only thing I had issues with was the canvas setup and arrangement of assignments it was somewhat messy but overall I enjoyed what I got out of the course.
Very cool guy! He knows how to make a class interesting. He is always excited to be there and to get the class learning in a fun way. Tests are not hard but he grades on a curve. Multiple choice and some short answer.
He is an okay professor and a nice guy however his lectures can be low quality and his tests sometimes don't have right answers. As long as you study enough in the textbook you will be fine.
Amazing professor! First took his Python class in the summer after my junior year of high school which helped me a lot for my college admission and major selection. Didnt hesitate to sign up for his "Intro to R Programming" class this summer. Always prompt in responding to queries. Strongly recommend him to anyone with prior CS experience or not.
This was my first programming class at college level while I was in HS and it tremendously helped me to build confidence to pursue STEM in college. Professor Nikjeh set good expectations, had great lecture videos which makes it very convenient to repeat/catchup to understand concepts. Overall great class, great professor, strongly recommend him.
Professor Nikjeh is simply awesome! Although it's an online class, he sets clear expectations on the coursework and has great explanation videos that I completely relied on. Lots of homework and assignments that help you to learn the subject and understand the concepts. He answers all questions promptly; Enrolled in his Data Science class-Fall '24
He is an amazing professor, something that he said to me that has stuck with me was, "you have to take control over your education" and he is right. He was always asking to help me and he always had different methods in teaching when one on one. I would definitely take his class again.
Great prof. Knows everything from experience. I have learned more practical information in this class that I can actually use than I have in any other class this semester! I found a DBMS job.
He is a great teacher, helpful, and very nice, always in a good mood and will make you laugh. His tests are fair. He posts study guides and review questions. You will learn a lot in this class.
Great teacher. Dr. Nikjeh was seriously my best teacher at Moorpark college. A pretty awesome guy, is very interested in what he teaches, which makes the material that much better. Extra credit is available during the class activities.
Absolutely great class. Nice guy. Take this class! Don't buy any textbooks you literally don't need it. He will provide PDF files and Word lectures. You will learn a lot. 10/10.
Esmaail IS AWESOME! Unique guy, and he possesses a remarkable ability to teach a complex subject. Very caring guy with a great personality, and a sprinkle of wit on top of that. TAKE SECTION WITH HIM IF YOU CAN! You will not regret it at all. Not one bit.
Prof. Nikjeh is a modulo mix master, he cracks code with lasers of knowledge from his fingertips dreaming with the wonder of the world that it is intro to programming. He is there for you, he will catch you when you fall. I will recommend him 100%.
Great teacher--its a privilege to be in his first class. Great guy, very helpful, explains concepts very well. Would definitely recommend. Do not need textbook, he has great Word lectures with examples.
He is a really chill professor and he is very generous when he grades. He curves tests and gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit if needed. His accent is sometimes a bit difficult to understand, but overall I understood him fine. Homework can be difficult, but nothing to crazy. And he even gives you extra time on HW if you really need it.
He is a great professor, and is very easy to access outside of class. This was my first dual enrollment course and even though I took this course online I got a good understanding of it. I had a great experience with this class. Strongly reccomend.
This guy has great lectures that really engaged everyone in the room. Subject material is sometimes tough but he does a good job of setting and making clear expectations for the test. One of the best professors I've had at the Moorpark! Great class.
Prof Nikjeh was more than helpful during my time in CSM10J. His lectures were very clear and coming to class everyday really, really helped. I recommend taking this class before the transfer to USs and Cal States.
I took professor Nikjeh's Data Science class after taking his R Programming class in summer. Mr. Nikjeh sets clear expectations and he got me interested in Data Science. He is very considerate with any genuine requests and well respected for that. Very prompt in email replies. Can't wait to take his Python class in the future.
Great lectures! You will learn everything during the class. If you are CS major and want to learn programming in deep, I highly recommend him. Participation is very important. You will be happy at the end of the class. 10/10.
Professor Nikjeh makes the complex topics of C++ manageable. His clear lectures and generous grading approach create a low-stress environment to learn. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for my exam prep - highly recommend it alongside the textbook and review guides.
Really great lecturer- his sense of humor made the material way less stressful. You can tell he really enjoys his job. He encourages you to ask questions. If you need to take CS courses, I definitely recommend taking it with him!
Awesome teacher--I highly recommend him! He makes the assignments straightforward. Not a whole lot of work in this class, but I learned a lot!
First time coding, but got through it super easily. His lectures are great, his grading is really fair. As long as you can understand the homework and lectures, you can do well on the tests.
The greatest professor on CS! Although programming is a bit difficult, it is easy to get A. He gives students lots of chances to make up their grades. His in-class lecture is helpful and I can view recording video if I missed the lecture.
Prof. Nikjeh is an amazing professor, not only is this class super well organized, making learning easier, but there is plenty of help available if you are struggling. Definitely chose him if you're considering taking any CS classes.
Amazing prof! if this your first time coding, make sure to go to lectures, the class starts to pick up around the second midterm, so make sure to stick it out - as long as you do the assignments and tests you will be all set! plus, he drops the lowest midterm grade :)
This professor was amazing. The projects were clear cut and doable, and the exams were not difficult at all. I did not have any experience whatsoever in programming, but I never felt behind. Get Nikjeh if you can! He curves the grades, if a test is difficult. There are a lot of opportunities to get Extra credit.
Amazing professor, I was a bit nervous about taking my first programming class, but he made it super simple and learnable, he makes the lectures interesting, asks, and answers many questions to understand a concept. 100% recommend this professor if you are choosing who to take for CSM125!
Prof Nikjeh is one of the best instructors for CS. His lectures are clear an organized. Homework can get challenging but he is willing to help in his OH or after class. I learned a lot from this course and I wish he taught more of them.
Taking this class should be a no-brainer. He teaches to the point where I'm GLAD to be in his class and really appreciate his straightforward style of teaching. Everything he explained was super clear and it made you excited about learning more. Homework was designed to NOT be stressful. Practice midterms with ans key. Drops lowest exam.
Absolutely wonderful, 100% recommend. I learned a lot of interesting material from this course which I can apply to my current job.
Never have I had a better professor than Nikjeh. Such an inspirational man. THE BEST PROF EVER!!! Made every day better and was so helpful during lectures. would take again he is definitely a 10/10.
I'm sure he's a much better professor in person. However, online he takes forever to grade assignments, so you won't know your standing in the class until the end. He also replies with only 1–2 sentences and was pretty blunt. I had to learn some material on my own, since some of the lecture content from previous years felt vague.
Nikjeh's class was engaging, informative, and mostly applicable to everyday and post-graduation life. His unique style of teaching pushes students to their limits. He is super accessible and helpful even outside class.
He's a cool guy, very good lecturer and super engaging so even though our class was in the mornings his energy helps wake you up. You HAVE to be very involved with your participation in class if you want to learn.
Amazing professor with really organized lectures, he makes sure that you understand the material before you leave. For your tests I would highly recommend study the class activities and study guide.
Taking CSM10DB. Prof. Nikjeh has genuinely changed the trajectory of my life for the better. I found a job designing DBMS. Best professor at Moorpark College!!
Professor Nikjeh is a AMAZING professor I would 100% take him again and again. He's a very caring person and is understanding. When you listen to his lectures you can tell that he has a passion for what he does. He's very friendly and he gives extra credit.
His expert demonstrations of the perfect loafing form are very educational/entertaining. He offers many extra credits. You will learn a lot from his class and you will end up with a good grade. Great Professor.
Best Professor for the CS program, he is very helpful this is my second class taking with him and he gives you the information you need to be successful. The tests are fair, once you review them you know that they were easy. He is available if you have any questions and will even go beyond and above to make sure you are successful.
The lectures were good and tell you everything you need to do. The assignments were simple if you watched the lecture, and after completing one assignment for the week the others were really easy after that. The tests were everything from the lectures including some vocab. Look at the program carefully to avoid missing easy points. Gives a curve!
Prof. Nikjeh is such a great professor! Super approachable and helpful. I took CSM10DB with him and I learned a lot and I got an internship.
Great professor he really just wants students to put in the effort and he will work with you to be successful, even if you don't fully have the concept down. Super nice! He is willing to work with you if you're willing to put in the work. I recommend him 100%.
This professor is by far one of the most caring ones you will come across. If you need his help, Nikjeh will do EVERYTHING he can to find a way. He will stop everything to answer your questions and clarify things to you, all you have to do is ask. No student is left behind by him.
Very good professor! Not afraid to help when asked and makes instructions in assignments very clear.
Mr. Nikjeh is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His lectures actually corresponded with what would be on the tests. And all the assignments had clear due dates so there was never confusion on when and what we had to do. But most importantly he really cared about his students.
As one of the other reviews said in person might be better but it wasn't offered at the time, it's a week after the semester and he just now graded the 3rd test, I got a 60% because I didnt do it the way he wanted and got penalized even though I had to learn the entire class on my own. If you can avoid him at least online
This professor was very understanding and knowledgeable. His tests were fairly difficult, but are multiple choice/TF, and he curves the grades which was very helpful. Would recommend this teacher to anyone wanting to learn C++
The professor was excellent. The course was very well organized, explanations were clear and easy to follow, and expectations were communicated clearly from the star. Lectures prepared studens well for exams and assignments, making the class fair, manageable, and an overall great learning experience.
The tests were based exactly on the lectures and what was covered. Pacing and content are divided well. Very nice teacher!
Terrible professor, if you have online it's 3 4 hour lectures a week and then 3 stupid discussions and an exam and homework every week, don't take this Professor if you don't have to, There's definitely better
