Good professor that cares about his students and their options. It's almost a two hour long class but, he gives us a break in between hours which is really nice. He doesn't give out homework, you do have to make a glossary and keep adding terms throughout the semester. The midterms aren't to bad, although the study guide is fairly long.

I am in AVS 1113, but there was no option for that. Otherwise, Dr. Abdelfattah is a great professor, charismatic & obviously cares about his students. Attendance is not mandatory but I would recommend going because of how lecture heavy the class is & he knows that he is talking about. The one complaint I have is that he doesn't respond to emails.

I am taking his AVS1113 class and although some of the slides he teaches from are a bit unorganized, he provides explanations for what exactly will be on the exam. Professor Essam Abdelfattah provides really informative power-points/notes. He brings up few guest speakers for different animals we learn. His exams includes many questions (around 50) which are mostly on his power points, some might be from what we learned in the lecture.

I really liked how he brought in guest speakers, exposing us to knowledge from various people who provide great insight. His workload is fairly light, not a class to stress over. When it comes to studying for his exams it can be a bit overwhelming because of the amount of content we cover, so you should study ahead of time and keep up with notes.

Professor Dr. Essam Abdelfattah is outstanding. His lectures are really clear and insightful. He offers study materials for exams that contain information that will be tested. On top of that, he is very accessible outside of class and promptly answers emails.

You can tell Dr. Abdelfattah cares for his students. Let's be honest, anatomy and physiology are not an easy subject so he tries to make it as easy as possible for you to understand. Its a difficult information source but he tries to limit what you have to cram. He's very easy and welcoming to approach if you have questions and is eager to assist.

Dr. Abdelfattah is one of the best professors in the AVS department. Almost every class began with Kahoot questions from the previous lecture(s). Each exam had a straightforward study guide. In my opinion, the glossary assignments are helpful. However, we were a bit behind towards the end of the semester, so we ended up skipping a couple of units.

Essam is a very chill lecturer and is very clear on his syllabus. Attendance does matter but that's because his lectures encourage participation with others. He has a very heavy accent but after attending every day, I've gotten used to it! Definitely would recommend and take again!

If you could take this class as an elective, take it! Dr. Essam is an amazing teacher and is so invested in the Animal Behavior topic. The class consisted of 1 quiz, 2 exams and a final, with behavior observations at the beef, horse, sheep and swine unit, and the duck and turtle pond on campus. Very interesting topics.

Great Professor! He does a good job of explaining different behaviors in animals. Each class was a lecture with a 5-10 minute group activity. There is a group project at the end, 2 midterms, and there are classes dedicated to going to different areas of campus to observe animals (cows, sheep and goat, ducks and turtles, and horses).

Although he encourages students to attend class in person, it's technically not mandatory, however, sometimes there are group activities that account for a grade. Suny Cobleskill, I overall like the way you do exams and lectures; they are fair. One thing I wish were different is when we do group assignments, I wish we would do them at the beginning of class because class ends at 10:50, and we go over a lot. This causes me to be late for my next class.
