Don't be fooled by other commentors who have some personal vendettas. Mrs. Coombes is a very easy teacher who is very helpful and who babies her students. She marks up a lot of minor errors on essays, but doesn't take off many points for them.

Prof. Coombes is a great professor. Very easy going and her essays are simple. All you need to do is have alot of details. Plus is always helpful and i dont think i never saw her a bad mood. I am definitely taking her for ENC 1102!

Professor Coombes is AWESOME! Her essays are great, and very easy to do...just make sure to watch your dangling modifiers and punctuation. She's not comma crazy, as one person put it! Do your work, turn it in on time, you'll get an A.

I do not recommend this teacher if you are going to be lazy and don't put any effort into writing essays or doing homework. If you will try (hard) you can pass this class and Mrs. Coombes will do everything to help, even meet with you. She also let's you retake past tests during the final and even re-write an essay. She's also a very hard grader!

Professor Coombes is a fair teacher. She will give you about four essays to write. Make sure you read everthing she assigns (its not a lot) write your papers well before they are due, and take it to the writing center to check for grammer. Hard Grader. Keep your notebook organized. I just found this site! I had her last fall. Prof. C. is great! We had so much fun playing in her class. We even had a party the last day. Everyone in my group got an A or a B.

Loved this class. The teacher was supper helpful and answered my e-mails immediately. Supper organized and clear. Just tell her what you are having trouble with and she will guide you. Just use the writing center and you will be able to get an A for sure.

Prof. coombes is awesome. she tells you exactly what she wants to see way before writing your essay. i wrote 4 and there was even an extra credit one. there was like 3 quizzes but she helps you understand the material. it was a little bit boring but very easy. she only grades the first 2 paragraphs of your essay and sometimes lets you revise them.

I absolutely LOVED Prof Coombes! I used to hate writing until I took her class my freshman year at Valencia- her teaching methods still help me write any term papers that I have till this day! I loved this class. I took in last fall, and the material was understandable and not boring. I enjoyed it! Plus using the "clickers" helped understanding grammar quizzes. Professor is very helpful and fun.

I have to say I have never liked English very much but I really enjoyed this class. Her instructions were very clear and the videos were extremely helpful. I was a little nervous to take this class online, but I would gladly sign up for another class with her again.

I just wanted to say that she has the most well organized online class that I have ever taken, and her instructional videos were outstanding. She was easy to follow and I am truly grateful for that. First of all let me say that this is not an easy class at all, this will require work if you want to get a good grade. However, Professor Coombes is awesome! The Absolute best teacher ever!! I can't wait for next semester to have her again! I would highly recommend taking this course. The professor is a wonderful woman and she is very understanding. Her work is very easy and gives you plenty of time to get the writing assignments done.

Way easier than Comp 1. She grades the essay's much lenient, and the quizzes are REALLY easy. It's annoying when she cancels class at the very last minute, but she doesn't do a lot. Her lectures are interesting, and you feel involved.

In high school, I felt as if I was being given busy work. This course is different, the work given pertains to the lesson. It make learning way easier and more enjoyable.

This course has allowed me to understand and write an efficient essay better. Working or being in groups helped me also in the year.

She is a tough grader, but there is ample opportunity to get good grades. She likes to play grammar games which make class fun. Papers are graded toughly, but clearly. You will know MLA citing after this class. If you have an A at the end of semester, no final! If you use the resources at Valencia, you will pass.

The class was not all that difficult for me, but being on-time: difficult. The problem with Ms. Coombes is that two missed classes automatic withdraw, and after one class I was ten minutes late, she marks me absent for the day. Very frustrating. Otherwise, the papers are long but grading is clear and gives chances to make back some points.

Even though for me this in an online class, the teacher makes it so clear on what needs to be done. She attaches instructions and suggests where to look for examples. Connecting work in the class to real life helped with my learning. This class is fun and worth it because of the projects, and it's an easy A. All she asks is for you to try.

Honestly I was always so bad at grammar and this class helped me so much, I feel like such a better writer and really motivated to keep writing. Having multiple essay prompts promoted my learning and engagement in this course, by offering me a chance to select something I enjoy. As a first class, this has helped me transition to Valencia.

I think Prof. Coombes was so good. Too many of my classmates were rude to her and others. They disrespected her. But she still taught us. I learned alot from her. I think she's good and kind. Alot of us did. Only those rude and disrespectful ones don't cause they didn't want to learn anything. They just wanted her to give them a grade.
