Ester is an amazing teacher. She is very energetic, understanding, involved, and makes class really fun. She gets all the students involved during lecture, so you never get bored and have to pay attention. I recommend taking her class 110%

Esther is so down to earth and makes a three hour class go by really quick! She has interesting lectures and really interacts with the students. She grades so easy and basically gives us exactly what's going to be on the test. It's not just easy, but she actually teaches you a lot! She knows her stuff well and is passionate about it.

Esther is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is clear and concise which makes the material easier to take in and understand. The discussions are both educational and entertaining. The material covered was not very difficult but she puts it into context for you, making it relative. Tests are not hard because she prepares you for them.

Great class, Great teacher. If you follow directions, pay attention to her lectures, and do the work you will pass the class with a good grade. If you think you may not pass, she give lots of extra credit. If you do not get what she taught, she will make time to explain.

Professor was great there were a few in class writing assignments. 4 exams with study guides available, (very very useful), lowest test score dropped. Make sure you I took this over the summer, but her lectures were very interesting. Attendance is mandatory as well as putting in some effort towards studying and the final project .

Why cant all my professors be like her? She is truly amazing! Took her over summer and to this day, I still talk about how amazing her class was. I recommended her 100 percent, she is so involved with her students and grasped your attention, you never get bored. I want to take all her classes! I learned so much in those few weeks.

LOVE HER SO MUCH! her class is just so much fun, it woke me up after long days! her style of teaching is so easy-going,yet she really gets the information to stick in your head. 4 test, some in class assignments and the final paper is what your grade is based on but she breaks everything down! I absolutely loved this class! I took it over winter session which made it much more fast pace but Esther was great! Her study guides are straight forward, everything she put on it is EXACTLY what's on the test. Her lectures are very interesting and she is hilarious which makes it better. The assignments make you think! Overall, incredible class.

Amazing I wish I had to take more sociology classes just so I could take her again. Super clear on she expects on test so study her study guide. You don't need the textbook. She really helps you out when you need it. I had her for a3 hr class and never once was it boring, makes class really fun.

I usually don't write reviews but I feel like she deserves one. Esther was my first college professor and every time I came to class she made everyone laugh but also made sure they understood her lectures. The class I took with her was about two and a half hours but it seemed to go by pretty fast.

The best prof I've taken. She is HILARIOUS and really easy to get along with. She relates lectures to ideas that the students can connect to (especially food). She takes the time to get to know the students. Lectures are easy to follow and tests aren't that hard if you spend like a half an hour a day studying. I would definitely recommend her.

She is a great teacher. At times the class felt really easy but the way she teaches and makes sure everyone is participating makes it interesting. She gets to know her students and is always encouraging the class to do better. As long as you do all of your assignments and go to class you will be good.

I took Esther for Sociology 101 & is by FAR, one of the greatest teachers I will probably ever have in my college career. I've never had a teacher more passionate, more nurturing, or more hilarious than Esther. She comes off as a hard ass at first, but you will see just how much she loves everyone. TAKE HER! I enjoyed the class. I can see how some people may not have liked her. I enjoyed how our class material was always different but the few assignments we did have were ambiguous. Overall id recommend her for anyone looking for a fun class & for those who are interested to know, she is not that pretty, she is ok.

I took Ms. Sandoval's class over winter session and I'm so glad I did. She is an amazing teacher and really funny. What I loved about her class is that we were like a family. One of the best professor's you will have at COC hands down. Would take more of her classes which she constantly encourages you to do. Hybrid classes can be demanding but use your time management and assignments aren't too bad, test are pretty easy considering she gives study guides.

She's a very good teacher. Explains topics well and doesn't get boring. You don't need a textbook. She has lecture notes you can print. Tests are straight from the notes. If you pay attention to her lecture you won't even need the notes to pass the tests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for an easy A.

At first, I was afraid b/c I'm an international student who moved from my home country to here like 4 months ago so I thought I wouldn't catch up with her class. Esther is amazing and made everything clear. If you didn't understand something, she will explain it to you until you do. I took her over winter 2019 and there was a quiz every 4 chapters (total of 4 quizzes; all open notes). There were 5 homework assignments and one project at the end that's pretty fun! I am taking her Soc. 103 class in Spring :)

I took her a few years back for soc 103 and social problems and she was such a gem. i absolutely love her and recommend to take EVERY and ANY soc class with her. she is very relatable and understands her students. she makes everyone feel welcomed and comfortable.

Her test happen to all be open note (easy A), and although I put attendance was mandatory I just don't think you should miss class because of how inspirational she is .

Professor Villegas-Sandoval is amazing! She truly wants her students to succeed. She makes her lectures very interesting and relatable. You will enjoy her class no doubt. Her tests are open book and you are given study guides for test. You will be required to complete several annotations with each chapters concepts but really do-able.

This teacher has few assignments, and exams are open notes. A easy A if you need the credit. Lectures can be boring if your not interested in the topic. Last exam is optional if you did well on the other 3, and she brings food near the last week of school. Overall a very nice teacher, and I suggest taking her!

She was an amazing teacher and I really enjoyed her class. I feel like SOCI-101 isn't the hardest class, so getting the A was no problem. The biggest work comes from all of the writings that you have to do, but she grades very leniently on them. Would definitely recommend to take this class if you have to do a gen-ed.

Professor E.V.S. is the best! I took the class online, and she was so interactive with us! She gives amazing and thoughtful feedback and is so kind! Her lectures are interesting and she adds lots of great examples and anecdotes. The class is not difficult as long as you keep up w/ assignments and complete them thoroughly! The specific class I took wasn't an intro class, so I found it to be very difficult. But Ms. Villegas really knows her stuff and cares about sociology a lot, she made the class interesting. She is a tough grader but as long as you show her you are doing the best you can, you should pass the class.

I took Professor Villegas-Sandoval for SOC 101 during a winter semester. Her lecture slides are fantastic with some of her personal stories making it more interesting and relatable. She is also one of the few professors I've had that leaves detailed feedback comments on most if not all assignments. She genuinely loves her students, and it shows!!

She is the best professor on campus! I've taken most of my sociology classes with her and its been the best thing since the pandemic hit. I'd highly recommend her classes, ALL of them! Esther is a real gem! I have never felt so supported by a college teacher. I took SOCI110 and this class was all online (live zooms were optional) but the amount of time and effort she put into each of our work was amazing. This class was amazing, I'm not someone who has ever really enjoyed school until I started taking my major courses (sociology) and she made it that much more enjoyable, her feedback and assignments and lectures were so detailed and there was so much to learn! I always felt she had our back, she always made sure to check in and help 24/7!!!

When I say take her class take it ! She is literally the most loving teacher and really wants you to succeed! Plenty of extra credit and clear expectations of the course the first day! She is amazing! TAKE HERRRRRR its 3 check ins , 2 quiz and 3 discussion a week. I took her 5 week course and have a 104! Again take her ! It was really fun also!

Professor Sandoval is one of the best professors i have EVER had. she is so caring and genuinely tries to make her classes interesting and relatable. there is a LOT of homework, but none of it is difficult, just requires reading. she is so kind, and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. if you have the chance to take one of her classes do it!!

If you have the chance to take Esther's class, PLEASE DO! I never had a professor who was as caring as Professor Sandoval and someone who cares about the material you learn. I learned so much more about myself and society. For this class there is a end of the semester project, but she gives you enough time to work on it.
