Dr. Ethan is a nice guy. He is funny and always has energy to teach. He is easy to understand in class and follow what he is saying. However his exams are confusing. I would not recommend him, but if you must take him, its not that bad. Generally 3 tests for the whole semester. Not mandatory attendance, but extra credit 10+ points.
Probably the best professor I have had at OSU. Now it was mainly a writing class so I cannot speak of how hard he would make exams, but he did not grade papers too hard. He is a really nice guy, helpful, and encourages class participation. I would take the class again if I could
Very cool guy. He has a sarcastic sense of humor but it makes the class much more interesting. You don't really need to buy the book or do the readings as long as you kinda pay attention in class and read over the slides a couple times prior to the exam and you'll be fine. I would recommend him and you'll be in for a good class
One of the best professors I've had. Good sense of humor and a pretty easy grader. The only negative is his voice is very load which sucks for morning classes.
Best lecturer I have had at OSU. Highly recommend him. Pay attention take good notes because both the mid-term and final were open note. His style of teaching increased my level of interest in economics.
I took three classes with him. He is always well prepared for the material and his exams are all open notes, so you don't need to memorize too much. He is also very fun with a special sense of humor. Highly recommend him!
Good lecturer although attendance is not needed if you get the book. Exams are all essay but you can have notes. The project requires a lot of work too but you have the option to work with a partner.
Ethan is one of my favorite professors at Ohio State! He explains things really well and makes sure things are not too complicated. You don't need the book but you need to go to class. The exams were really fair and open notes. He also has an awesome sense of humor and I'm trying to take a class with him again!
If you need to take a 5000-level ECON course, look no further. The course is intellectually stimulating and fascinating if you're into it. Open notes for exams mean you do fine IF YOU DO THE STUDY GUIDE. Bonus is offered throughout. No reason to get lower than a B, and an A is attainable if you work hard.
Great lecturer. Wants to be a professor and it shows. Lectures are always entertaining. Open Note exams, so take good notes and you shouldn't have a problem getting a B at worst.
His exams can be difficult with the time restraint. Other than that he is a very good professor. Go to class and you will be fine. He teaches things in his lectures that are not in the book so actually go! I would definitely recommend his class!
He is the best professor ever! take one of his class and you will know
I took four class with Ethan and he is one of the best professors at OSU. The class is interesting. Exam is open note but the timeframe makes you need to familiar with most of the concepts. Great experience.
I took econ 4140 and he is very good and clear about the topic he is teaching. good grading criteria. and not very hard test yet you understand the material. If you do not miss the lecture and took notes it should be fairly easy class. He is funny and yet clear about the material he is teaching
He is a really mean professor. You would not get helpful feedback from him and I do suggest that do not take his class. Great lecturer, but not a good professor.
Amazing lecturer. Requires a lot of reading and going to class is very important - handwritten notes are allowed for tests! He'll make you work for your grade, but you'll learn a lot and he will make it interesting.
One of the best ECON professors you can have. He is extremely clear with what will be on exams, he explains concepts well, and he makes class enjoyable at 8 AM. The economics and ethics class was extremely interesting and I would highly recommend it.
Gives open note blue book exams that are still impossible to do well on because he is looking for one small detail of what we have learned through the semester.
His clarity is nonexistent and also somehow is able to grade 200 papers in 2-3 days which leaves me skeptical. He grades you on how he feels that day. He makes it as hard as possible and tries to drown his students with information so students don't know what will be expected of them on the exams. He rounds down with his grades which nobody does.
Don't count on this guy helping you out in any way.
Also 2367 and 4130. Highly Recommended. His lectures are energetic. COME TO CLASS. He makes the material interesting and makes you think. He presents a theory and then completely tears it apart. He loves making jokes in class so there are always laughs. The in-class essay tests are no joke. Prepare. You work for what you get, but it's worth it.
one of my favorite profs at OSU! The material is a bit tough, but if you go to class, his lectures are really clear and extremely helpful. His exams have essays, and they can be hard. But most students do well in his class, and he's a great professor. Also, just going to class with this guy is fun, it's an enjoyable 55 minutes.
You'll love him on every day except for exam day.
I've taken 2367, 4130, and 4140 from this guy, and they all were awesome. Best lecturer I've had at OSU. If you are good at essay type exams this is the class for you! That being said, you don't have to be an amazing write, as long as you can convey main points in coherent sentences you will be fine. Take his classes, you won't regret it.
I recommend taking class with this professor. He is energetic, smart and hilarious. He is well prepared and is willing to help. If you attend his lectures and take notes, you will get at least a B, if not A. I was intimidated ny some negative comments about him before taking the class but I got an A-, so all you have to do is work hard.
In retrospect, this class was really easy. His three tests are all open note so all you have to do is go to class everyday and take diligent notes; write down everything he says. Briefly read over your notes the night before exams and refer back to them as needed. Not only easy, but extremely interesting. Go to class to get those extra cred points!
Great lecturer who makes class enjoyable. Very smart man and passionate about what he teaches. Assigns a fair amount of reading, but everything you need to know is in the lectures. Go to class, take detailed notes, and the exams won't be a problem.
If you have the option of taking Dr. Doetsch's class, do it. He's a great lecturer and conveys material in a clear way. I had him for ECON 3048 and the class was both relatively easy and interesting. If you go to class and take good notes you'll be golden because all his exams are open note.
Proffesor Doetsch is hilarious, and teaches a lot because of it. Don't worry though, his class was such that if you payed attention during the lecture you simply had to regurgitate it to get an A, there wasn't much thought involved. But you still learn a lot.
No homework. No projects. Only thing graded in the class our three exams. He takes your best exam score out of the three and puts it in a second time to help your grade. Offers random extra credit points for showing up to class. Interesting lectures and genuinely interested in teaching students. All exams are open note and if you go you will pass.
Great lecturer who always provides intriguing arguments with evidence for and against scholars' papers. There's 3 open note exams and no other grades so you really have to do well on them to get an A which can be a problem. If you simply go to every class and pay attention, you will do really well
Dr. Doetsch is very knowledgeable & I learned a lot from his lectures. His tangents are both informative & entertaining. He moved very fast in lectures due to time constraints, so stay awake and write quickly to keep up. 3 exams & 10 homework assignments make up the final grade. Rarely gives out extra credit, but when he does it's 1 point.
Dr. Doetsch is great! His classes can be difficult but rewarding. You will certainly learn a lot. If you come to class, take notes, and participate in some discussions you will do fine. When I took the course, the tests were completely essay but graded on a rubric to see if you included key material to gain more objectivity.
Dr. Doetsch is the best lecturer I have had so far. He is really good at explaining textbook jargon by using easy to understand examples. The class was graded only on exams, but the lowest score was dropped so you could afford to have one slip-up. On low attendance days, he would give out extra credit, so come to every lecture!
Doetsch is very fair
Gives any and all the information you'll need for the exams in lecture, with many many examples for each type of problem. Very helpful and responds quickly to emails.
He is so knowledgeable and passionate. This course is not so easy for me but I really enjoy it. I gained a lot from this course even though I can hardly get an A. We love him so much! Some students even choose his other courses for they like him so much. Easy A if you can follow him during the lectures. No homework.
I took Doetsch's freshman seminar about wage because it seemed interesting and I heard great things about him online. It was by far my favorite class, and he was my favorite professor in my first semester at OSU. He learns everyone's name, is very organized, and grades fairly. There is only one short assignment a week, perfect for a 1 credit hour.
Probably the best professor I have had yet at OSU! His lectures are great, easy to understand, and he makes all the material very interesting. He is a tough grader, but he posts study guides, and makes sure to review material. He is easy to understand, and structures the class in a very logical way.
Doetsch is easily the best professor in the department. His lectures are easy to follow, engaging, and sometimes entertaining. If you show up and pay attention to lecture, you'll pass with flying colors. Take any class of his that you can.
Dr. Doestch is very passionate about Economics and this really shows. I enjoyed listening to his lectures, but the exams are rather challenging. I took this class hoping for an easy A, but that was not the case. If you are passionate about Economics or are able to dedicate a good amount of time to this course, take it. If not, take regular!
I would recommend every student take a class with Dr. Doetsch. He is an economics professor but at least one of his courses does not have a pre-requisite (Econ 3048 - Ethics in Economics). He is fair in his policies but unwavering. You must earn your grade but it isn't hard to do so. I also had him for 4130 and 4140 previously.
Doetsch is a very knowledgeable professor. His classes are very inspirational and interesting, which make students concentrate. However, tests are hard, and the whole grade is counted on the three tests. No curve. If you screwed one test, getting an A is impossible. That's not cool.
SB teacher. Super nan. Good lecturer, but the hardest test I have ever taken. The longest report I have ever written. I don't understand why he can be rated so high on this website. His lecture is good, but he doesn't write down a lot of notes. You have to read the whole book to prepare the test and the practice doesn't help at all.
Best Econ professor I have ever had. I found his lectures pretty entertaining and despite the challenging exams I would definitely take again. Exams were open note but I recommend only using your notes as a last resort because you will not have enough time if you rely on them.
I will definitely take his class again. Dr. Ethan's class is hilarious and inspirational, taking his students to the edge of the knowledge. Even though his exams may require some readings, A is not hard to get if you really pay attention to what he says in lecture. Don't always blame professor as if not working hard is not your fault.
His lectures are fun and you'll learn a lot. However, the only grades you have are based on tests and on test days he is not your friend. In fact, his tests are so jammed-packed with questions that he makes it next to impossible to get to every question. He sets impossible standards for getting a half-way decent grade.
If you take good notes (don't type them out) and show up to class, getting an A is completely doable. He gives several extra credit opportunities. The labor market report takes a ton of time but it's actually pretty fun to work on and his grading is very fair. Great class with probably one of the best professors in the department.
He is a great lecturer, but the grade is 100% depends on 3 big exams. Just trying to memorize all and you will be fine. Hard to get an A but easy to get a B.
one of the best teachers i had at OSU. You can tell he enjoys what he does. He's a fair grader and allows everyone to improve their grades through extra credit. Come to class and take detailed notes or you won't pass. He lets you use your notes on exams, but don't be fooled you'll have to study harder. I took 4140, will be taking 4130 with him.
Definitely the most entertaining professor I've ever had. Very enthusiastic and interesting lectures, and he obviously loves teaching and knows Economics well. Tests aren't a breeze, but are always very fair, and he tells you exactly what to study.
This was a great class, but you definitely need a solid background in economics before you take it. You are graded on three exams and ten online quizzes, so it's a to come back from a rough start. You have to come to lecture, and during lecture, you need to take detailed notes. Exams require you to basically memorize all content.
Dr. Doetsch is a great professor and his lectures are always very interesting. His tests are pretty hard though, harder than you'd expect. Homeworks sometimes don't line up with what we did in class so I personally had to use the internet sometimes to figure things out. Overall, would recommend
Dr. Doetsch is a fantastic professor. He has very engaging lectures and makes the class fun and interesting. His tests can be difficult, but they are not impossible. Overall, I would recommend taking a class with him.
Professor Doetsch is awesome. You definitely have to go to every class, because the class is 4 exams and 10 online quizzes, all based solely on his lectures. He's hilarious and kind of quirky. Go to class and you'll be fine. Work hard and your grade will reflect that.
Dr. Doetsch is the best professor I've had at OSU so far. He made the class super interesting and engaging. He was always seeking student thoughts on the subject matter and tried to make the content as relevant as possible, providing numerous contemporary examples of economic issues. There are few powerpoints and most info is written on the board.
Dr. Doetsch is an amazing professor. He shows how the materialism of Marx actually is applicable to economics problems of the past and present. Not to say he is a Marxist- he does not inject polarizing politics into his lectures. A testament to the power of data. He is invested in his students and it was a privilege to have him as a professor.
Hands down the best lecturer I have had at Ohio State. The class seemed like a boring topic, but somehow Prof Doetsch was able to make every single class extremely interesting. Entire class graded on 3 exams, and all material comes from lectures. You can use notes on exams, but they tend to be little help due to the length. Unbelievable professor.
Good teacher. All tests were open note
I don't know why there are so many people here rate him well, obviously, his class is difficult and hard to understand. PPT doesn't include all things, and his notes are hard to see clearly. His lecture is boring and messy, many times you don't know what he is talking about and want to sleep. Exams are heavy, grade only depends on 3 exams.
One of the hardest and pointless economics courses I've taken at osu. His lectures are confusing and boring. It is really difficult to undertand him. His questions on the exams are not clear and the grading doesn't make sense. The exams are open note but that doesn't help. I would not recommend this class or this professor.
Professor Doetsch is one of the best lecturers I've had at OSU. His micro econ class convinced me to add an econ minor, and he is the reason I took this class. His classes aren't easy, but he's a very fair grader and gives out bonus points for showing up on low attendance days. I would highly recommend for any econ student.
My favorite professor I've had at Ohio State and it's not particularly close. All exams are open note, but you need to show up to class and take good notes to really do well on the exams. Very engaging lecturer who does a great job helping in office hours. A great instructor and a great dude, I would highly recommend Professor Doetsch to anyone.
tbh I won't get A if he did not give us extra credits and curve our exam. if you go to every lecture, you will receive extra credits and pass the class easily
Dr. Doestch is the best professor I've had. He's goofy, but he makes learning about economic history so interesting. He lectures using the chalkboard and usually doesn't provide notes/slide shows. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you better have someone to get notes from if you do miss. All grades are from exams. He's tough but certainly worth it.
Great dude. Lectures are actually interesting, keep you interested, and are often even fun. If you pay attention, youll get a good grade because hes so good at conveying the needed information youll just know it from class. Homework is graded really hard tho. If you are taking Econ, take ethans class!
Great teacher, really good at walking you through the material and helping you understand. Definitely the best econ professor I've had and wouldn't mind taking any course with him. Bonus for showing up occasionally and exams aren't all that bad if you prep well.
Dr. Doetsch is the best professor I've ever had! His lectures were always super engaging and entertaining. I always understood his lectures really well and he writes almost everything by hand on the board so it's really easy to keep up. As long as you pay attention and understand your notes you will do well!
Dr. Doetsch is a good lecturer. He keeps people engaged and often had interesting discussions stemming from students' discussions. His tests definitely require preparation but it's nothing too crazy
he's ok.
My favorite professor at OSU.
Good lecturer, tests are pretty easy. Wish there was more difficulty/rigor.
Pretty difficult course so be ready to put the hours in. I will say he is very funny and makes the class engaging as possible. He is very specific on his wording so you have to be careful to watch what he says. Overall a hard but nice class.
Love his class! His lecture is pretty fun and you can learn a lot. He is open to any kind of question and will answer it patiently. I would say his test is pretty fair, nothing that is too much but you do have to think before answer it. The grading is fair too. Overall, great professor for high level EC.
He definitely makes the lectures engaging and doesn't just read off slides, so I really enjoyed them. However, the content is a little hard if you don't already have a strong background in Econ. I also found him a little intimidating to approach and gives off an indifferent/bored vibe when you ask questions outside class.
Dr Doetsch is a great lecturer and he knows how to make difficult material make sense. Homework and exam questions are pretty hard, but if you watch the lectures and put in the work, an A is very attainable. He gives you the basics of what you need to know and challenges you to really think about what youve learned and how to apply it. Great guy
Dr. Doetsch is easily my best Econ professor so far. Assigns a book for the class, but his lectures are more important to the tests than reading from the book. Incredibly engaging - even online.
Such a tough grader. I am a straight A student and have never struggled to understand econ, but had to attend tutoring twice a week just to make sure I would get all the points on the homework. He's a good teacher but talks very fast so be prepared. Read the textbook before lectures and you'll understand much better. Just be ready for the grading..
Dr. Doetsch is a very good teacher and can keep lectures very interesting, even online. He is a tough grader and exams can be hard, but if you work hard the payoff will be well worth it and you can get a good grade. You will learn so much about econ from him, just know that it will be a little challenging. He wants everyone to do well and it shows!
Kinda wack exams, but good lecturer and very engaging. If you review your notes you will do fine
Dr. Doetsch is the best. He is very clear and teaches well, plus he is very funny. He can have some attitude sometimes but it could be much worse.
I respect Dr. Doetsch for his ability to lecture and keep students engaged. However the exams were just cruel. They make up the majority of your grade. You are given 6 long hours to take the exam, which consists of around 40 questions. You will use every minute of that because the questions are set up in a way to make you fail...
Dr. Doetsch is fun and probably has similar humor to your dad. He clearly knows his stuff. Your grade in this class mainly comes down to how you do on the three midterms and final (and he drops your lowest one). The tests themselves were fair. I never had to study for them, but since the class was online it was open note and we had 6 hours.
Such an engaging professor especially considering that our class was completely online. The content for this class was pretty challenging but Professor Doetsch always did lots of example problems and was happy to answer all questions. Got extra credit for going to class and other opportunities. Take his class!
I took his in-person class this semester(disaster). He's funny and respected but you will be exhausted by his exams for sure. Reading hundreds of pages and hundreds of slides plus few hw questions is the only way to do well on the exam. Even though the exam is open note, questions were asking you to apply things that you won't be sure until graded.
This professor is a good person but his exams were the worst. Read hundreds of pages and slides plus apply knowledge questions makes you feel unprepared for the exam the whole time. Not sure why people only focus on "he is nice" but the exams are the only graded items and RMP did trick me to believe his exams were not that bad. Worst class ever.
He is a nice person, the lectures were very serious. The only criterion for this class is exam scores. His test questions are difficult, you never know what he wants to test. Terrible exams, never wanna take his class again.
If you go to his class, you will likely not have any issues. Extremely knowledgeable about what he teaches and is very approachable. Grades are based solely off of exams, but there is a extra credit assignment in addition to bonus points for random attendance. 4 exams, but you can drop the lowest. There is a clear path to a somewhat easy A
Good lectures, but the grade is really just based on the tests which can have a lot of "gotcha" questions. Double-edged sword of a class, but only 3 of the four tests are graded so you have some wiggle room.
The entire grade is based off four exams, although one gets dropped. For the online class, they were fairly easy. Mostly multiple choice with one essay that was graded pretty leniently. The exams are open for a full day with no time limit so if you look hard enough you can find the MC answers in the lecture slides. Attend lectures for extra credit.
This course was conducted in-person, and while attendance was not mandatory, the attendance sheet would occasionally be passed around for extra credit. The course is graded on just three exams, with your highest exam score being counted twice. Dr. Doetsch is my favorite professor from the Department of Economics, and his quick wit makes class fun.
super engaging professor and makes dull topics interesting. not an easy a but if you go to lecture and review the notes exams are doable and open note. best professor at osu.
Lectures were fun and engaging. He made history unbelievably interesting. Graded only by the 4 exams (3 midterms + final), lowest score was dropped. Occasionally gave extra credit for attendance and an optional extra credit essay in the end. Did not attend final, studied only the slides. Learnt A LOT from the class. HE IS AMAZING, INTELLIGENT ETC
This is one of the worst professors I have ever met at the Ohio State University. There are only three exams for the whole semester, but the questions are confusing. He posts the final grade immediately on your transcript, and you don't even have a chance to discuss the grade with him.
This person is very stubborn, do not give you any opportunity to argue, online exam out of the score can not see the topic and the correct answer, direct registration score, really very bad. And this course is a variety of knowledge to put together the class, there is no sense.
Only grades for the class were 3 exams worth 100 points each, best exam score was made out of 200 points for a total of 400 in the class. Up to about 30 points of extra credit when he randomly takes extra credit roll call or gives out extra credit assignments. Exams are easy since he allows a cheat sheet and has questions straight off the lectures.
Really interesting class if you are looking to learn more about labor markets, unions, and minimum wage laws. 4 exams in the course, and he drops your lowest one. Extra credit a few times throughout the semester for coming to class. Get to bring a sheet of notes for the exams. Exams are tough but doable, very much application based.
Very engaging professor. Easy to follow. Very knowledgeable and provides a variety of examples to explain the concepts. Answers questions clearly. Would definitely take as many of his classes as possible
Great professor, exams are based around critical thinking. Your whole grade is determined by three exams. He always brings energy to class, and depends on class material for the exams. He's always willing to discuss any questions you have, and will be honest and thorough in his response. Seek out for him, he's one of the best at this university.
There is no howework which I loved, just extra credit for attending and 1 extra credit assignment. But 100% of your grade is decided by exams. Exams are hard so don't think you can just wing because he allows 1 cheat paper. Only thing that I didn't like is that he marks down so if you get 79.99% then your final grade will be a C+.
I took him for 2 classes and I highly recommend it. Best lecturer I've had and is well-organized and informative. The class is exam heavy with 3 midterms and 1 final being the only graded components, but you can drop 1 exam. He offers extra credit randomly for attendance numerous times throughout the semester. Exams came solely from class material.
Seeing a lot of reviews about difficult exams, and I have to disagree. He provides a study guide that covers the important takeaways from each topic, and allows a 1 page front/back cheat sheet. Questions were entirely formed from lecture material. Come to class and pay attention to the main ideas and you will have no problem. Dr. Doetsch is 10/10
Grade is based on 4 exams, with the lowest dropped. The lectures are super interesting, and Dr. Doetsch really knows what he's talking about. You can tell he's so passionate and knowledgeable about everything. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he takes extra credit for attendance randomly (did it 4x this semester). Loved this class and Dr. Doetsch!
Best ECON professor I had during my time at Ohio State. I highly recommend taking as many of his classes as you can. The class is graded by 4 exams but you get to drop the lowest of the 4. He also offers extra credit in the form of attendance periodically throughout the semester. Gave us a study guide, and let us use a cheat sheet for the exams.
Favorite professor at OSU. Doestch comes ready to teach every day and has a vibe similar to Dr. Cox in Scrubs. He occasionally got a little political for my liking but it wasn't a big deal. 3 exams, do well enough and drop the final, occasional extra credit for attendance. If you pay attention in class and think critically, exams are easy
If you want to actually learn economics, there is no better professor. Dude brings so much energy and impeccable slides, tests are fantastically written. Not a class you can coast by in, but you'll learn valuable stuff by showing up. Easy to reach, hands down my favorite professor I've ever had. Taken 2 classes from him and would do so again.
tough he is a interesting guy, i just want to tell you that the average grade for each midterm is around 71, it's even curved!!!!!
He is passionate about econ and does his best to make a boring topic interesting. His exams are based on applying your econ knowledge. Lots of mindgaming with the short-answer section of exam. My criticism is that the majority of the practice questions is math but ~15% of the exam are math questions. So you're only preparing for 1 (small) section.
The whole class is 3 midterm exams plus a final (your grade is calculated based on your 3 highest). His lectures are engaging, though. Very understanding and willing to help if you don't understand the material. You do have to put in the work and pay attention--his exams are very tough.
Dr. Doetsch is the best Econ professor -- everyone should take at least one of his classes! Very entertaining lecturer, and if you go to class and take notes, his tests are not super difficult. Plus, you will get extra credit just for showing up.
Dr. Doetsch is a uniquely engaging lecturer but his entire course was graded on 3 tests & nothing else. If you're a bad test taker, you're at a huge disadvantage. I found the test questions to be very subjective & overall the course was extremely unforgiving. The extra credit for attendance was nice but I still almost failed despite studying daily.
Great guy -- does a good job relating content to current events. Does a good job reviewing fundamental econ, even though macro/micro is required for course. Extra credit for attendance. Cheat sheet for exams make them easy.
Prof. Doetsch was a very kind and caring teacher. It's abundantly clear that he loves what he teaches, but his exams are pretty difficult. They're a mix of T/F, MC, and short answer, and they're worded in kind of a tricky way. He'll randomly take attendance for extra credit, so it's good to show up if you need a grade boost.
Professor Doetsch makes the lectures engaging and informative. Exams are challenging but fair, focusing on critical thinking. The no-homework policy is a plus. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for exam prep along with the class materials. Definitely take this class if you can.
His lectures and slides are engaging and he's funny; I actually looked forward to coming. There is never any homework, the whole grade is three midterms and a final where he drops the lowest test grade, which I liked. He also gives occasional extra credit just for coming to class. I loved his class and am taking his ethics class this semester!
Took 4700 + 4130 with Doetsch. Best Prof in Econ department. Very smart guy. Attendance for lectures is not required, but you won't mind showing up (also occasional EC). Lectures are engaging, good sense of humor and relates to current events. Graded on 4 exams which are tough, but not impossible if you show up and take notes. Lowest gets dropped.
Professor Doetsch was a great professor who is super knowledgable and makes the class fun by joking around. There is also not any homework, however, the grades are based on the 3 exams in which he drops the lowest of your three. I couldn't recommend this class enough!
This class was hard. Only 400 points, 3-100 point exams (curved pretty well) and top 10 scores from your homework which were graded for accuracy. It takes a lot of effort to do well, but I think he is a great professor. He has an answer to every question and he made sure to explain concepts thoroughly. But if you want easy, this is not for you.
Be prepared to take lots of notes and digest a lot of material. Haven't had the first exam yet but I am prepared for the worst. Only 3 exams and the final and lowest score dropped. Final exam is 2 days after last midterm so that kinda screws you and forces you to cram. Nice guy but would not at all recommend this course for GENED credit.
Dr. Doetsch is a great professor, take his courses.
Probably the best economic professor there is. You will have to work hard and go to class. Take detailed notes and you will be fine.
refreshing and funny professor. you have to put in the work for this class. tough but fair.
Dr. Doetsch is straightforward as they come. The concepts we learned were very practical. He does not stand for bs, so if you are looking to take shortcuts, like skip lectures or cheat through an exam, you will be very unsuccesful. His exams are not ordinarily worded, they are indeed AI proof and can be fairly tricky. Overall, hard but worthwhile!
