He is very charismatic, who seems to enjoy teaching and makes an effort to know his students names.

Very down to earth laid back personality, makes class very fun and easy outlines curriculum so you know ahead of time when things are due.

Professor Roy is great! hes really down to earth and will help you with whatever you need. he makes the learning environment very comfortable and doesn't give out too much work. we had to give an oral presentation and when i gave mine, i wasn't even nervous due to his teaching style and encouragement. I took Comp 1 with him. Cool guy, funny stories and easy. If you do your homework and all the papers, you're golden. Class might be frustrating if you are looking to learn a lot because the material is review and a good portion of the class is taken up with stories. Ethan, however, is an awesome guy.

Coolest, raddest dude ever. Very charismatic, jokes a lot, and loves life and doing what he wants in it. Long lectures which aren't always necessary, but it's fun to hear him talk. 1 pg assignment due each week and 4 papers throughout semester. Always has good comments. Very, very helpful. I still wonder what his tattoos mean...

Definitely my favorite teacher at Hudson Valley. He's hilarious, willing to discuss crap in life that might get in the way. He's reasonable and very helpful. He swears alot but it only made class more enjoyable...overall Awesome!

I had him right out of high school in summer 2015 and man was it a great way to settle into college. He the best. i looked forward to going to his class, lectures were great and he was great at explaining things and was funny. Just show up and do the work , four essays and a final research paper with oral presentaton but he will guide you prfectly

Highly recommend if you like funny and charismatic people. He's very honest and keeps it real with the class. His anecdotes and commentary make this class unique and worthwhile. The work is fair and requires effort, but other than that it's an easy A. If you're looking for a plain, straightforward English class, I would consider staying away.

I'm telling you right now, take his class. I'm barely 3 weeks in and this professor is the funniest most lenient guy I've ever had. Granted this is my first semester, I doubt I'd get a professor like him ever again. If you don't like professors that relate to students then maybe that'll make you upset. He told the class that he's our "Uncle Professor" so he's pretty chill. The assignments are very easy. I've never liked English and thought it was boring, but he makes it more interesting. There are two books that you need, one is for grammar and the other has stories and poetry in it.

A decent amount of work but its very easy. he's very good at connecting and relating to the maturity level of 18 and 19 year olds. super laidback but also a very positive attitude. you'll love if you have him as a professor. definitely try to get into his class!!!

Professor Roy is a great professor! only downside is that he puts people on the spot, for no particular reason. i.e. Called me in front of the class to show others that its not so hard being up in front of class. The mean thing was, is that he said "I'm only calling you up bc I know you get flustered and embarrassed. almost had a panic attack.

Professor Roy is the funniest professor I have ever had. The actual class is very easy, but he manages to make it interesting. I think he is the only person that can make learning semi-colons fun. He is also a very easy grader.

Ive only had Mr Roy for a handful of classes now , but I had him for my first class of the semester and knew the rest of the year was going to be great . Hes super hilarious and laid back , and seems very genuine and understanding . He always makes me laugh and is fun to interact with in and outside of class .

Very nice, very good feedback, extremely understanding. I could listen to him talk for hours. He was really interesting and super funny. I found myself laughing multiple times. The papers were actually pretty fun to write, especially the film analysis. I would definitely take again. I enjoyed being in his class and I got good writing practice.

Easy A, assignments are extremely easy, and he is pretty laid back. There is a presentation based on a paper you write at the end of the class.
