fair, teaches correct usage of English, but quite hard

Not easy, but you actually learn how to write. Interest.discuss. very fair!

Excellent professor, very smart, eassy to talk to and treats you like an equal.

she is one of the best prof at Pace.Everybody that says that she is bad is one of those people that just want to pass the classes with A's without doing nothing. Study hard and you will get an A

She's hard but my writing got better. Don't know what people mean by her prefering whites. She used to teach the foreign students, so I don't think she's prejudice.

She definitely her opinions and likes expressing them. ****? Hmm ... not so much. Not hard. She seems bad at first, but she ends up getting nicer at the end.

As a UNV Prof she's cool, but I would never take her english class. She's got a bit to offer.

good professor, definitely has something to offer. willing to accept a challenge (and encourages it) from students during class if you are reasonably intelligent and can communicate effectively. Stay on top of the readings and always write, rewrite, rewrite, and rewrite

i really like her. i feel like if you just do what she says, she gives you a good grade. i got an A- on most of my papers. whoever said it before was right though: she does seem bad at first but she's real cute once she opens up. make sure you rewrite your essays A LOT thought; she likes that

i love her! she seems really tough at first but in reality she is great. you will not like at her at first, but it pays off because your writing will improve greatly!

I really did enjoyed her teaching. She's not as bad as everyone says. She does have her days, but who doesn't? Do you work. Re-write your papers it'll pay off! She's a decent grader. The amount of work you put in your work, she'll know.

Very boring. She's really not that bad or hard..as long as you do what she says. Take her advice. re-write your papers. shes very understanding for the most part But has the personality of a plain toasted bagel. Obsessed with the new york times and never cancels class but shows up at last minute before you are allowed to leave. not bad with grading

People who don't like Professor Roth are just babies. She pushes her class to be better writers and is beyond helpful when it comes to your writing. You get what you give in this class. The readings were mostly interesting and the class discussions were also fun. As long as you participate and edit your papers, you will do well in this class.

Roth is not as bad as people make her seem. Yes, she is a tough grader but once you learn her grammar rules it's not hard to write the way she expects. 3 papers based on a book, one research paper, + a midterm & final. She doesn't hand out A's. You'll be lucky to leave the class with a B. However, you'll leave this class a much better writer.

Everyone is just begin whiny because she is a tough grader. She is very picky and if you don't give her what she wants, you won't get an A. However, she is not a bad professor by any means. She is well-qualified and rigorous. She/her curriculum were interesting and engaging. Her style is very "Old New York" and traditional (i.e. no technology).

I really enjoyed Professor Roth. Her class and the discussions were extremely interesting to me. You have to work extremely hard to do well in this class, but it will be well worth it in the end.

Professor Roth's class was the lowest grade I got this semester, but I honestly believe I got the most from her class. I loved our group discussions and I really think my writing has gotten a lot stronger this semester. I would definitely take her class again. She is tough, but she also really cares about her students. Highly recommend.

Professor Roth is very kind and caring, and a wonderful person. Her class is very difficult, but she is more than willing to help and gives great advice on your writing.

Professor Roth was one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. At first, her class seemed difficult and was frustrating. However, her care and devotion towards her students is truly refreshing to see and if you put in the work you will be rewarded. The way she teaches you to write is very useful for the rest of your college career.

While she may come off as tough, see really does care about the success of her students. She gives clear expectations for all of her assignments and also gives you feedback for every essay so you have a chance to make edits before she grades your paper. Also, her class discussions are very interesting.

Professor Roth is wonderful! She is a very tough teacher, though. She has been extremely helpful to me in many ways! If you want to improve your writing, grammar skills, and overall academic thinking- take her course! You won't get an easy A. If you put the time and effort into her class, you will do fine. She takes a while to warm up to also:)

Proffessor Roth's class was easily the hardest course I've taken. She comes off as tough and cold in the beginning, but if you really try your best in class and show that you care for your grade, she will open up & you will do great. I struggled a lot, but I have learned more from her than any English teacher I have ever had. Not an easy A.
