tends to show favoritism toward the PhD students. his assignments are not excessive, but he grades very capriciously....some get A's and some C's with the same critical elements present.
I disagree with the previous poster. I thought he was great. Considering the course had 60 students in a grad prosem it went great. accessible and helpful.. only bad thing, Sat morning class
LOVE this guy. In undergrad course, he's pretty funny and loves debate; allows the class to get involved. Would have a few harmless reading quizzes if he saw lazyness. Grading pretty fair. All of this might be because this was a required course everyone needed to pass. Who knows; but he was great!
Class time sucks (I've had two with him, both Friday morning, 8:30 AM). Fortunately, attendance is not mandatory. (Even people who never show up don't get penalized.) Turn in your paper on time, take the midterm (if there is one), and you probably won't have to take the final. 25% attendance (or even less) can still get you an A.
This professor is out there!!! Had to write a 15 page paper. Grades it pretty easy. Attendance is not mandatory but he does have quizzes. Thought this class was going to be hard but turned our not to be so bad. One thing that bothered me was that he is not organized at all.
I would not recommend taking his classes. He is very lackadaisical in class but he will screw you over when it comes to grading. He doesn't give you any direction or give you any warning about what he's looking for. You just find out on your transcript.
Deceptively easy class. Just show up to absorb lecture information and you'll do well on the tests.
The class itself is interesting and is easy to follow - I felt like I learned alot. But the tests are graded strangely. On my first test, I answered everything correctly, but because it "wasn't the specific answer they were looking for", I got a C+. Study your notes - whatever is discussed in class is what they are looking for on the test.
Lectures on and on, no reviews for tests and tests are tricky, I wouldn't suggest him.
Dr. Elliot isn't bad; I just don't like his teaching style and grade system. His lectures mostly consisted of pure talking with occasional writing on the board. Auditory learning doesn't work well with me, personally. Also, the entire grade was literally 4 tests. Unless you only miss a few questions on every test, it'll be difficult to get an A.
Professor Elliot was a decent professor. Sometimes he likes to ramble about things not related to what you're learning but it's important to got to class because he makes the tests and there might be a question on a subject he went over but wasn't in the textbook. Attendance gives a grade boost. For the best grade I suggest going to SI sessions.
Easy class. 4 tests, drops one, curves final grade based on attendance. If the class average is lower than a C he'll also curve the tests. Lectures can get boring, so bring something to do. Tests are heavily from the textbook, lectures are a supplement to that. If you don't mind reading and show up it should be an easy A for you.
I had this guy fall semester. He's pretty interesting to listen to lecture- he LOVES talking about Texas government. Sure, there were some days where I just didn't want to take notes, but he's not a bad professor by any means. You can get an A if you attend class (because he'll give extra credit at the end of the semester) and do well on exams.
This class is only graded by four tests that are each 25% of your grade, and the teacher doesn't proofread the tests OR his notes. The questions, study notes, even the slides he puts up in class are all poorly written and very confusing. Frustrating teacher to have to learn from if you are an English major or grammar nerd like I am.
Avoid, if you can. Very boring lectures with poor visuals and content to review. He's all over the place. Also too heavy on his ideology when lecturing. Even the way he phrases his content is difficult to understand.
The class itself is very boring and lecture heavy, but Dr. Elliot tries to make it enjoyable. The tests can be hard and are very text heavy so reading is important if you want an A. The grades are made up of only 4 tests but he does curve at the end and will give you extra credit if you attend class regularly.
Prepare for the most boring lectures you've ever had. Good luck getting a good grade.
Dr. Elliott is a really nice professor, but I'm not a big fan of his teaching style. His lectures are detail-heavy and not very organized. You definitely need to read the textbook well. Tests are vague and slightly confusing, but he does try and explain if you ask. Gives extra credit for attendance. You can do well, but it takes effort.
Dr. Elliott is always in a rush. He goes over topics that are barely covered on the tests. One class, we went over Donal Trump and his policies, which was not relevant to the course or should be on the test. He also cancels class often, about 5 times the whole semester. This really sets us back, especially when his tests are very lecture heavy.
Dr. Elliott is very knowledgeable and passionate about government, which makes his lectures sometimes hard to follow. However, if you really try and take good notes and keep up with your reading, you can do well. He's very helpful if you have any questions. Not the easiest government professor out there, but an A is definitely possible.
Prof. Elliot is a very funny guy, but you wouldn't expect that since he talks very formally. You will have to read the text book because he doesn't cover everything that will be on the test. Speaking of tests, that's the only thing that you will be graded on besides attendance. If you are willing to put in the time, I highly recommend Prof. Elliot.
Honestly! Never ever take him. You will regret
His lectures are always a bore. His corny jokes don't engage you. He goes off track. His notes are vague. Try to switch or drop the class. If you're stuck with him, prepare for the worst.
Professor Elliot could be seen as hard by some, but overall his requirements are the class are standard. Read the book, attend lectures, and find people to partner up with for group notes. Extra credit is given for attendance and he is usually giving 2-4 point curves for tests. Those are needed if you want an A+. Humorous and formal as well.
Professor Elliott runs his section of GOVT2306 as a lecture with four tests. Grades are taken in the form of daily attendance and tests. There are no other assignments, there is no extra credit. On his test, you will find content from tangents with 5 or more degrees of separation from the content at hand. If you can avoid him, DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Elliot is extremely easy if you record all the lectures and listen to them before the exams. I did terribly on the first exam but got close to 100s on the rest because I listened to the lectures and didn't read the book.
Avoid at all costs!! Horrible professor that will bore you to sleep with his rambling lectures. What he covers in class is hardly on the tests. Read the book and do the study guide to have the best chance of passing the tests. He does curve based on attendance and will drop the lowest test grade at the end of the semester.
The course was just lectures and exams. The (non-mandatory) lectures were extremely dull and often irrelevant and/or useless in terms of the exam material. Attendance dropped sharply after the first few, for obvious reasons. If you want to enjoy this class, take someone else.
Avoid at all costs. He makes you buy a second textbook that he wrote (but is also rife with grammatical errors), then quizzes you over minute differences between his text and the normal textbook. This essentially doubles your readings for the class. He also does not listen to students' concerns, and frequently made errors on any test given to us.
Professor Elliot knows a lot about his subject, his lectures just get pretty boring. You can get an A in this class by reading the book and online texts without ever coming to class, even though he gives extra credit based on attendance. He's a great guy and wants his students to do well
He's really nice, really easy grader. some mistakes on tests. but you can find an easier professor for government.
A solid choice. Tries to force you to buy his textbook at the start of the semester - don't. He doesn't use the slides, but the slides are useful study material. Takes attendance randomly. I think he did 3 times including the first day, pretty sure he said attendance can help your grade. All exams/quizes are multiple choice. Must study for them.
He's really great! I took him for honors government and he just gave us papers instead of exams. There were quizzes but they're not that difficult. He's really nice and gave us so a good amount of drops (2 for quizzes), extra points, and extra credit.
amazing professor... made a difference in my lift
Professor Elliot is a really funny guy who wants everyone to do well. It's easy to do well if you either go to lectures or read the textbook and definitely review the powerpoint slides!
He's good
Super chill and the quizzes and tests are not that bad especially if you go over the powerpoints and do the practice quizzes at the back of each chapter in the textbook. He will do extra credit randomly and rarely takes attendance and sometimes that is extra credit so just suck it up, go to class, and you will be fine. I never even talked to him.
The test and quizzes are really easy as long as you study the power points and read the textbook.
Quizzes/tests usually involve common sense or draw directly from either his slides or the textbooks. Although he offered extra credit for attendance, the slides/textbooks are more useful than his lectures. He's a really chill dude - he surprised us on the last day by saying he'll drop the lowest exam grade.
His class was easy, just show up and study the slides and you'll pass. he makes you buy an online e reader and pulls some questions from it, make sure you skim through it. Over all the class was very easy.
Overall an average professor. His state government class is mostly taken for credit so I'm sure he knows that and tries to get students involved but it doesn't work. Class itself isn't hard; all the material is online. Just make sure you read it, bc the tests are super specific, thus making the class harder than it should be.
EASY EASY EASY guy. Most of the tests and quizzes are straight from the slides he lectures on and a few questions here and there from the ereader. Show up to lectures and you get extra credit. Pay attention during the lectures (even a little bit) and just review the slides the morning of exams and you are good to go.
Professor Elliott is an awesome professor! His ratings before were lower because earlier students didn't have the powerpoints. However, now they do and if you literally study the powerpoint by heart and read it alongside the textbook, you're bound to pass with a high grade. Also review old quizzes. Clarify anything after class and he will answer!
Hes a great professor. His lectures are pretty interesting and lectures everything thats on the test and quizzes.
He's a great professor. HIs lectures are long but very appealing. The exams and quizzes are not hard just study the power points. Most of the grades come from quizzes, online and in class.
Hate the idea of taking government? This class won't change your mind, but it will make your life much easier. Memorize the powerpoint slides and take online quizzes with unlimited attempts and you'll get a decent grade without even needing to attend class. You get bonus points if you attend class when they actually check for attendance though.
If you're considering Honors Texas Gov, definitely take Dr. Elliott. However, be aware that this is a very reading heavy course (tested over in quizzes). Also, the Texas Yesterday and Today textbook is of marginal importance; do or do not buy at your own risk. Exams for Honors are take home essays, and he grades rather leniently on them.
Honors government with Professor Elliott is your best bet - the grading system is simple with take home essay exams (which is preferable), and each lecture is based on different topics from the textbook. Quizzes can be tricky though, no matter how much I studied I could never get As on them, but I did do well on essays. There may be a slight curve.
He is an awesome, caring professor who really knows his stuff and is passionate about teaching it. Make sure to study for the tests and go to the SI sessions for every exam! They are extremely helpful. A lot of kids in this class will complain because they are lazy and want to be spoon fed. Just study hard and do everything on time and you're good
you don't need to attend class to understand what's going on because he posts the powerpoints online. the supplemental instructor usually does a review for the test which REALLY helps. he curves tests too.
Easy going, humorous professor who didn't make this core class any harder than it had to be. Occassionally took attendance, but only to bump people who were one point off the next letter grade. Online textbook required, but I never used the physical one because his tests and quizzes are based off the slides and what he says during lecture.
The tests/quizzes are from his PowerPoints, but there is a lot of material to know(PowerPoints are around 200 slides for each unit). You definitely have to invest time to memorize the material but you are given exactly what will be on the texts/quizzes. Theres online quizzes with endless attempts that are from his e-reader which are an easy A.
Study the slides and have a general idea of what the online chapters are about to do well on the exams. Don't bother reading the textbook, and listening to the lectures aren't required to do well. I would recommend showing up because he has random attendance checks sometimes for extra credit. I don't like how he lectures because he stutters a LOT.
Just read the professor's slides and you'll get A's on the tests. You can come to class to get extra credit for attendance, but the lectures are pretty useless.
Professor Elliot can best be described as someone who is very dedicated to his job. His Power points are DENSE and each module can rage from 120 slides to over 200 slides full of material you need to know for his exams/quizzes. His lectures are boring, but as long as you read the slides and do the online quizzes his class is an easy A.
For Honors, Dr. Elliott is a great choice. His exams are take home essays, and you have a lot of time to work on them. However, his instructions are vague and it can be a hit or miss if you got a perfect grade or not. However, he is pretty lenient with grading. Quizzes are based off of lectures and textbook, so they're a little hard. Nice dude tho
Take him for honors. Can't attest to non-honors sections, but for us he incorporated a lot of question-and-answer dialog in class which is quite fun. In the end most people just showed up online and his TA made that pretty easy. Tests were open-note and straightforward; hardest part is end-of-semester essay but there's lots of time to work on it.
You can easily get an A in the class by just reading the ppts for the tests. Attendance is not mandatory, but he honestly lectures pretty well and he presents the info and makes it decently enjoyable.
Found his honors class to be pretty chill. 4 Open note MC tests and a 6-8page research paper. Test questions can be pretty specific at times so you should do the reading to help find the answers. The paper is assigned at the beginning of the semester, so you have a lot of time to work on it. Dropped the lowest test grade at the end which was nice.
An excellent choice. He's a friendly guy, who is a good explainer of concepts. Just read the powerpoints and you will be prepared for the exams. Also, make sure you do the quizzes. If you do both, easy A.
As long as you pay attention to his lecture and PowerPoint slides you will be fine! The class is composed of just 5 exams (20% each). Professor Elliot himself is a genuine man who cares for his students.
This professor is a great choice. Only 5 tests in the class all online (more than enough time for the tests).
DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK, I bought it and never used it once, even if he says to get it. Professor is fair though, tests were online and we could use our notes/PowerPoints for them. Sometimes it was hard to find the answers on the tests but still better than having in person tests you actually need to study for lol. Super easy class, take it.
Professor was easygoing. No homework, all of the class grade was based on 5 exams, in which the lowest was dropped. Attendance not needed. However, the test had many trick questions and were very long, and the answers were not set in stone and up to professor descretion.
There are no assignments in this class; there are only 5 open-note, open-book tests. Even though there is a textbook, you do not need it. The tests were easy overall, but make sure to read the questions carefully. Professor Elliott is nice and drops the lowest test grade. Just pay attention to the slides and lectures, and you should be fine.
Professor Elliott is really passionate about government. His lectures are really informative and provide everything necessary for the test. To be honest, most of his exam questions are directly on the slides. He's super caring and understanding as well. Overall a really well-rounded Professor and easy class!
Grade composed of 5 exams, lowest score dropped. Most of the test questions are from the lecture slides, and exams were open note. Very easy class, he's very passionate about what he teaches.
I would love to tell you how good of a prof Elliott is, but to be honest, I didn't attend a single lecture. Exams are all open-notes and Elliott posts all of his lecture slides online. Quickly go over the slides (or dont, thats what I did) before the exams and you'll have an easy A.
Class isn't easy anymore.
Not an easy A anymore. The questions on his tests are very badly worded.
If you want a free A, this isn't the class anymore. Spoken to multiple friends, and he has made the course much more difficult specifically starting Fall 2022. Tests are not extremely easy anymore, and attendance would be needed because of questions like "As stated in lecture...". No curve, and he no longer drops the lowest exam.
Do not take this professor, I took him based on previous reviews and he is NOTHING like what they say. He only has five exams, and even though they are open-book/ notes you can not find the answers anywhere. Even when asked how to study he said they are in the notes and refer to the book. I barely finish the exams in time. Avoid taking him!
Past reviews are NOTHING like how he does Fall 2022. Instead, we get 60-question exams due in 2 hours, and lecture slides that don't even cover half of what's on the test(because apparently he "went over them" in class). Also got rid of the drop exams for some reason in the middle of the semester just to make life harder for everyone.
I took him thinking it would be an easy class but his exams are hard. They are open notes/books but the questions are weirdly worded and impossible to find. Exams last 2 hours and the time is not enough for the difficulty of the questions. AVOID TAKING THIS CLASS!
This is the most horrible class to take at UTD, please do not take him at all. The class isn't easy anymore at all and the past reviews. He has questions on tests that he covers in class but it could be any sentence he spoke in the past weeks. The slides don't help you at all. He single-handedly managed to mess up my entire career. DONT TAKE HIM
The only reason I took this class was for core credit . I thought it was an easy A but this class has truly scarred me. The difficulty of this course has left me sleepless many nights just trying to barely pass this class. Taking this class the first semester of college was the worst experience ever, I have immense regret for coming across this man
Tests are the only homework this class has, and they are open-book, open-note, and open-internet. However, the questions tend to be tricky, and with many of them I do not remember them being covered in either the lectures or the textbook. Also the class requires an $100 Top Hat fee for a text book which you lose access to at the end of the semester
Avoid this professor, don't let past semester reviews fool you. This semester he chose to mess up his entire classes GPA, not a single person I know does well on this test. Tests are open note but questions are badly worded and most of them aren't even on the material provided. For a core class this class is way too hard.
the whole course consists of only 5 five tests and there are no exceptions. the lectures are essentially pointless.
In Fall 2022 this class was nothing like the past reviews. The entire grade is based on 5 tests which are open notes, but half of the questions aren't talked about in the slides and others have weird typos and are worded in a way that will leave you confused. Even if you email him he will not help you understand the material better for the tests.
While the class got a bit harder, it was definitely still doable. You gotta use the slides for the tests and manage your time well. He drops lowest test and adds a 2 point curve to final grade.
Pretty easy, low-effort class. No homework, attendance, or in-class assignments. Semester grade is based on 5 open-everything online tests. Tests were a bit more difficult this semester, hence the influx of bad reviews. But if you can't find the answer in the slides he gives, googling works just fine. I believe he also drops the lowest test grade.
Tests are the only thing being graded but they are open-note. 5 tests and each 60 q for 2 hours. Professor uploads slides so you don't even need to show up to class half the time. Some reviews mention confusing wording and there are some questions like that, but it doesn't take that much context clues to know what he's asking for.
Class is not easy. I attended all his classes and read through the slides, was not much help and struggled. Only 5 exams all multiple choice, he does drop the lowest test grade, but originally wasn't going to. Exam questions are poorly worded and hard to find answers in notes. Be careful if you plan on taking his class and try to manage your time.
Overall, the reviews freaked out a bit too early. I myself was too, until the email that the lowest test would be dropped and the final grade curved by 1.5 points(including rounding), which was not indicated before. Overall, not a hard class, but other professors are better, but he is still a fine alternative if they're all full.
I had Dr. Elliott for GOVT 2306 honors. Dr. Elliott was an enjoyable professor. His lectures were easy to follow and he was always clear about the information- he really knows his stuff. The class itself isn't that bad; there are four tests and a final paper, all of which are extremely manageable.
5 exams, 60 MC questions in 2 hours. Open notes/slides. I went to all his lectures and payed attention. I always looked over the slides and used them on exams. The exams themselves were very difficult because of weird wording and the immense information on each exam. Worst grade in college so far, and its a required class. Please dont take him.
DON'T TAKE HIM. For a stupid CORE class this class does not need to be this hard. He drops the lowest test, curved 1.5 this semester. Isn't worth the headache. Studying will not help, boring class, you'll end up skipping. Just transfer this credit from collin, not worth at all. Don't listen to reviews who got a C and still rated him a 5 LMAO.
Good, objective, unbiased lectures that genuinely provide meaningful insight into the subject. Easy open-note/open-book take-home online tests that are mostly from the PowerPoints. Professor answers questions after class and via email. Just do your work (not much by the way) and you will get a good grade no problem.
Lectures were long, boring, and unnecessary. PowerPoints were provided. Only graded on 5 exams which are online & timed with 60 MCQ. Questions were weirdly-worded and overly complicated. Professor seems nice! He dropped our lowest exam grade and gave us a curve. No other homework or extra credit. Just study the slides!
Professor Elliott gave us the nice oppurtunity to meet politicians. However, his exams are written badly (the wording is terrible and vague). You have to read the entire 50+ slides for each lesson because his lectures are boring. Your grade RELIES on 5 tests. He dropped one and added 1.5 points to the avg. Not the worst, but not the best either.
5 tests total, 1 of which is dropped (lowest). 48 hours to take test online. Attendance is not mandatory, and his tests are all open book, open note, open "source." No homework, so you should not be complaining. Tests were very similar to content in his slides, so getting a high grade was very simple.
Laid back class. Attendance is not mandatory and there are only 5 tests, one of which is dropped. The tests are all open note. The lectures are not very interesting but attendance isn't mandatory.
For his honors class, it is super easy. He lectures the entire class, and wants participation from students. The grade is made up of four tests which are all open note, open google. There is a semester research paper as well. He encourages reading to help understanding, but can control f on tests.
Your grade is determined by 5 fairly easy multiple choices quizzes. Some of the stuff on tests is fairly obscure though and only mentioned in class slides, so make sure you take notes during lecture. GO TO lecture, bc its easier than reading the textbook, covers everything, and he lets you off early most of the time.
Professor Elliot is great. Majority of the grade is dependent on his tests. However, the answers are usually in his slides. You just have to take the time to find them. He gives you enough time on his tests to do so. He is very flexible if you have an emergency or if a situation comes up. He curves in the end which helps. His Class is worth taking.
5 exams, multiple choice open-note and open-book. I never went to class or studied and got an A. just use the slides provided, and you'll get at least an A-.
Attendance is not required or monitored in GOVT2306. I enjoyed this class a lot- it's just exams. You can purchase the TopHat but dont need to
This is an easy class, but the grading is risky. It is 5 tests (60 questions). That is it. If you mess up, you're pretty much toast. Also, there is no point in attending this class because the actual class material does not show up on the tests. Tests can be worded weirdly and are mostly T/F. Easy class but just a warning it could be demoralizing.
If you want a class that rewards showing up, paying attention, taking notes, and working hard for your grade, this class isn't for you. There is absolutely no reason to be in class (attendance isn't mandatory) or any reason to take notes. 5 tests, one is dropped, good luck. Hard questions, but mostly findable, that's all it is.
lectures are boring. class utilizes textbook but is not needed. final grade is average of 5 tests, lowest dropped. questions are doable and rather easy, but the wording is weird sometimes. cancels class on a whim, but will record those lectures. overall - extremely unrewarding class. easy grade. possible curve at end.
see utdgrades for difficulty. 100% test with 5, for the most part can be found online. offers corrections for 2 and lowest is dropped. practically guaranteed an A after that. few guest speakers here and there which are engaging. lectures themselves are unnecessary and often boring. kind and softspoken gentleman. very stress-free class.
For his honors class with Dr. Scotch, they are a great pair. Class is just them talking the whole time. While the course is titled "State and Local Government," national government is often a top topic of discussion. 85% of our grade came from 4 take-home essays and 15% from participation. If you're not interested in gov, the class will be boring.
Heard some negative things coming into the semester, but I actually recommend him and Scotch for the honors section. The class consists of 3 essays + research paper. As long as you touch upon ideas from lecture in your essays and prioritize quality over quantity, you'll be fine. Accessible outside of class and has a good sense of humor.
TAKE HIS GOV 2306. This class was so free. Only grades were exams which are open note, online, and at home. Most answers can be found in his slides which he posts. I stopped going to class and just took his exams with his slides and did fine. He drops your lowest exam grades and will have opportunities for retakes at the end of the sem. TAKE HIM.
Lectures are not mendatory, mostly a waste of time to attend and will last minute email you to cancel class. Open note tests are the only grades, basically just a class that tests your ability to use control f to search your notes efficiently more so than it does in checking that you learned anything at all. A credit source with low commitment.
Lots of reading is assigned but it is unnecessary to memorize the information in great detail as the tests are open note/laptop and don't have tricky questions. Overall the class is easy and it is up to your own initiative to actually study the material outside of class (as it is not necessary to get a decent score on the tests). *Honors section
If you are going to take State Gov of UTD, for sure, take his class. It was the easiest class I took, and I barely attended lectures. There are only 5 tests and lowest gets dropped, but they are open note so it was very easy to get a A on the tests.
Really easy course, great for core credit. Attendance is not required, extra credit opportunity, open note (and internet) tests taken at home. No homework, and class is often delayed or cancelled.
If you want to take gov just for the credit and don't care about learning stuff, take him. 5 tests, all online and open note + open internet. Tests are open for like 5 days and attendance is not mandatory. Free A+
DO NOT GET TOPHAT, YOU DON'T NEED IT FOR HIS CLASS. I'm not going to lie, I didn't go to his lectures because they were at 8 am and attendance wasn't mandatory. You get graded on 5 tests throughout the semester, they're all open resources, at home, and you have the whole weekend to do them. One lecture he emails about is attendance extra credit.
This class is a breeze! Professor keeps it easy with open-note exams and slides that have most of the answers. unstuck AI was a big help for studying too. Attendance is mandatory but you can skip most classes and still do well. Definitely worth taking!
If you can take this class with Elliot and Scotch please do. Their lectures are super important for the tests. They are a super hilarious duo. I only paid for one textbook which was used for test questions. Easy to get an A in if you don't read. Elliot allows you to use AI even in his honors class.
His exams were open book but that does not make it easier. There was not enough time to go through the books even when you knew where the question was from.
Good professor and is easy going. Attendance is mandatory but he often cancels lecture so it does not matter as much. He lets you use online resources for exams and gives you a whole weekend to take them.
WARNING: His class may be changing for Fall 2025. He said he plans to make exams in person and maybe even be written. So far, he has made it easy, at home, online, and open note. Again, this is CHANGING. He is a nice professor who seems passionate. However, this next semester may not be the easy A that he made it in the past.
Overall, a nice dude and passionate about the topic. Take-home exams were confusing and had mistakes, but easy to get an A on with "notes". He did have mock exams in-class to simulate how Fall 2025/future exams would be like. Still online and open-note, but had some writing prompts. They weren't graded so I'm not sure if he will implement it
Easy class, grade is made up of 5 take-home online exams. The professor tried to make attendance mandatory this semester, but people still skipped so he gave up. There will be serious changes for the Fall 2025 semester, though; attendance will be taken more seriously, and exams may be in class. Didn't learn much from this class, but an easy A.
Easy A. Tests were all open note and online, participation didn't really matter, and he gave the lecture slides. HOWEVER, there will likely be major changes to the course for fall 2025. He tried to take attendance my semester but people still skipped so he gave up. He will probably start taking attendance, and tests might be in person.
His tests don't reflect what he teaches and at that point, its stupid to come to class. Don't take this class if you're expecting to actually learn something
Class consisted of quizzes and tests which some were in class and some outside of class. All open note, but most of the questions didn't reflect what he taught. He took attendance once a week and let us know in advance.
Easiest gpa booster you can have. Class is very easy. Just show up to his lectures
It's an easy A class just a couple quizzes and tests which are all open book and most are take home too. Show up to class for attendance as those are graded but he usually gives us a heads up in advance. Overall a very nice guy who enjoys his lecture material and topics.
The class is free. Tests were mostly online open resource. He does ramble about supreme court cases even though its state and local government lol
Open note exams and quizzes, everything is straight from his slides or lecture so take notes when he talks because some questions will be very specific. He is nice, answers questions, and is honestly a really chill guy. The quizzes and tests were just very very long.
