Very Cool Professor! Cool teaching method. He's gonna want you to think he's scary but he's not. He gives easy tests and quizzes.

He was my first college class after several years off.Make sure you get involved in the class and ask questions.He's not as intimidating as he appears to be.I learned a lot and was able to use what I learned in all other classes.He helped create a good foundation for me.I highly recommend him!

This teacher is AWESOME!!!! If you dont understand an assingment, he will help you out. Make sure to read because he gives pop quizez, which are very simple! He is very funny and friendly. He grades easy nd gives plenty of time. Dont worry if you cant write well, as long as you try... you will pass the class!! Take him, you will enjoy it!!

Funny, Helpful......acts like a hard ass. A hard ass inside the classroom.....cool outside. His grading system is quite difficult....gives u plenty of time for assignments though.

He keeps the classroom alive and makes the lessons interesting. It is stressless to take his class if you read the books. He guides the class through each lesson in a freindly and helpfull way.

I had Armao for 1A and decided to take him for 1C because I didn't want to take Philosopy... He is a great teacher who really cares about his students. His comments on papers are helpful and if you do the work and have intrest to do good you will do well. Very funny guy too!

We had a lot of fun in the class and made the subject matter fun. The Class (myself included) really liked the guy and he told funny jokes too. A true gem of a professor

Armao is awesome!!!! His class is very interesting and the work load is light! The only thing you really have to watch out for it attendance and tardies! But if you are there everyday and put in the effort you will get a good grade!

Really nice teacher! but sometimes the essay seems like you need to impress him or be on the same page as him.. if you disagree certain topic with him, he might give u bad grade IF you made little mistake... he can be lil picky and striaght forward with you essay.. Prof. Armao was a great teacher! It's an easy A if writing essays is your thing. I love writing so personally it was a piece of cake. When he grades your essays, he goes through it with you little by little so you know what you need to improve on. Just do essays, read the books assigned and easy A! DEFINTELY recommend!!

Professor Armao is the best English teacher I ever had!!! The class:2 books that are short, 4 essays(1 on a theme f/the online readings, 1 on Douglass book, 1 on Frankl book, & 1 research paper), 1 final project(a redo of 1 of your essays & a 1 page essay), & 6 quizzes(20pts each). Be on time, do the work, & you will pass the class. He's funny too.

I liked Mr Armao. He comes off as harsh the first day but don't let it scare you. Mr Armao is sarcastic but funny,and very helpful. He won't accept late work so just do your assignments on time. He's not the easiest when it comes to grading, but if you follow directions and take his suggestions into consideration you'll do well. I got an A. :)

I took Professor Armaos' English 1A class during the summer of 2011, and I must say that he is by far one of the best English professors there are. Before taking his class I dreaded writing essays but now they are extremely easy to write. Just be serious about your work, pay attention in class, & work on your grammar (very important).

As someone who always hated english classes, he wasn't that bad at all. He has a somewhat cynical sense of humor, but don't let it scare you; he's actually pretty nice and funny. The assignments, though sometimes iffy, are rather easy and he gives clear feedback on how to improve it, and he sometimes gives chances to revise them for a better grade.

I wasn't interested in taking this class because I had started it once and dropped it, but he made it so much better for me. He didn't only make it enjoyable as he cracked jokes all class long every week, but he is willing to help all the time and he's very smart. 1C was one of my favorite classes this semester.

Although this is my first semester, he will forever be one of my favorite professors. He is absolutely a great professor. He is funny in a sarcastic way and definitely makes you enjoy the class. There is absolutely no way that you cannot pass this class. All you have to do is show up, do the 10 question homework, and do well on tests. TAKE HIM!

Mr. Armao was actually the best professor I've had. English 82 isn't a hard class to pass, it's basically an easy A. The key to passing this class is to show up on time, and never forget to bring the textbook that's required. I've learned a lot from reading passages and learning what context its in. Also participate! You'll leave his class satified

Best teacher I've had by far in the English department. He gives great feedback. Attendance is important and don't come in late to class, he finds it very rude. An easy A if you pay attention and do your work. If your looking for a serious but funny teacher, he's your guy. I would definitely take him again! Awesome teacher.

He's a great professor. His lectures can sometimes be long, depending on the topic. Grades are mostly based on your essays. He grades pretty hard, but he gives advice on what you could improve on. His quizzes are easy if you read. There's a lot of essays and most of them is based on the reading, so make sure to read everything.

He's a really sarcastic professor and he puts people on the spot if you're acting a fool. That's probably one of the reasons why I really like this guy. He put me on the spot several times and I thought it was hilarious. Just don't pretend like it's not a college class and take your school work seriously. I'm taking him again for 84, cant wait!

Really likes when you participate, even if you don't know what to say, he will still find logic behind it, and does not make you feel dumb. He has definitely made a mark on my educational journey.

I had Prof. Armao as my English 84 professor in the summer, without checking ratemyprofessors, I was expecting to get a pretty tough prof., considering the short amount of weeks that we had to get our work done, BUT, it turns out that he's hilarious, gives awesome lectures, never gives a lot of homework, and a lot more! He is a pretty good teacher. He goes over everything really well and will help with any questions but he does talk a lot. He spends 95% of the time making jokes and he is super nice. Barely gives homework and only a few big assignments. He's strict with attendance so definitely show up. You can still pass without studying or reading but it helps.

He's an amazing teacher. It's the only class I feel like I can be myself. I learned more in his class compared to my 12 years of compulsory education. He does a quick 1-on-1 chat with you after grading your paper. Even if you get 100% he'll tell you ways to improve your paper. He may seem well aged but he's truly young at heart.

I LOVE professor Armao. He is extremely funny and down to earth. The only book required for his class is $16. Come to class and participate and you'll pass. There is a lot of reading but It is short essays. You will have essays due but that's just an English class for you. You will not be disappointed!

I loved this class. He is a really good professor that loves to joke around with students. That makes him more approachable to ask for help. He gives great feedback on the essays.

He is fun but firm. I loved this class because it did not make me feel like I was in a boot camp instead it made me appreciate writing while having fun. He does not make anything difficult if it does not have to be. The COVID-19 pandemic sorta shifted some stuff in the syllabus. He gave us four essays and a few short quizzes.

I took him for fall 2020. He gave good feedback on essays, but he does give out many of them. If you want to do a zoom conference he's available most days of the week and helps you fix mistakes on the essay before submitting it. I just wouldn't take him again because of quizzes, there were more quizzes than essays and sometimes were a bit hard.

I loved this class. Professor Armao makes class fun. Even if it was online he made things not so stressful. Get ready to write and read small readings part of the textbook. He is a tough grader but he does provide assistance.

Great professor. Professor Armao follows the rubric closely and gives you more than enough time for each assignment. If you have the chance to get ahead then do it, some of the extra credit is first come first serve.

I took Professor Armao for Spring 2021 as a high school senior and I would say this class was not too hard. There are four essays, some quizzes and discussion posts. There is no textbook for this class, he provides the articles/readings and an online book. He leaves comments for every assignment. I would definitely take Professor Armao again.

I took this class online so I'm not sure how he is in person. However, I love the humor he adds to his instructions. We only have 4 essays in this class. The assignments are relatively easy as long as you do them. He's a very easy grader in my opinion. As long as you complete all the criterias, there's no reason you shouldn't get a perfect score.
