Dr. DeRobertis is a very nice man. He is very helpful if you have a question, and the class generally has fun. However, he is not always that clear in contrast to the book. The tests are based on the book but his class sways from that knowledge somewhat.

Dr. D is a cool guy. Use the practice tests in the Psych office for each exam and it helps a LOT. Exams are Scantron and aren't too bad. Just read the book and go over his notes and you'll be fine. I thought this class was interesting and Dr. D is a nice guy and everyone had the opportunity to retake an exam if they didnt do well. Take this class!

You will learn so much. Human Growth and Development should be required for everyone. Great class to take before you have children.

An amazing teacher engulfed in his subject. Dr. D truly values the educated opinions of his students. He is a teacher whose active intellect beams brightly, especially during heated debate of controversial subject matter. In lecture Dr. DeRobertis uses his quick wit, honesty, and broad knowledge base to challenge and educate even the most reluctant students. He would rather his students understand subjects than ace tests. Dr D is a wonderful & pragmatic teacher. Enough ...just register already!

he was easy sure you had to study a little but i got a 100 on my paper and the tests were easy and could be made up for a higher grade. and in class he isnt so bad hes funny sometime.

There is a difference between a good professor and an easy professor, him being the latter. He taught for 15 years that the shortest wavelength is gamma. Yes, he is a psychology professor and that is not his field, but i expect a Dr. to have even very limited knowledge on material learned since the 8th grade.

took psyc206 online...awesome teacher! work was easy and fun...just posts every week. only thing that i didn't like was you have to go to the testing center to take tests. tests are reasonably easy if you study and do the ex. cred. quiz beforehand. love him and hope i can take another class with him in the future!

You would think a 3 hour psych lecture would be torture but he makes it funny and interesting. He's experienced in the field so he has interesting stories to tell. He's not hard but I hated the way he graded papers

He is by far the coolest teacher I have had throughout my entire education. I changed my major to psych because of how interesting he taught our class. I HIGHLY recommend him! His class was awesome! plus, hes pretty hott.

Professor DeRobertis can explain the subject to virtually anyone, on any level, and in any context. Come to class, take notes, and pass with relative ease. He truly makes understanding psychology that simple. Even if you are just taking psychology for a general education course, adjust your schedule in whatever manner necessary to attend his class.

Dr. De Robertis is a great teacher, cool, funny, knowledgeable about his subject. Go to class, take good notes and you will do well on in class exams...We didn't use the textbook much until midterm and final take home exams, but you definitely need it for them. I enjoyed this class and recommend you take him if you can.

Hes tests are 50 questions MC. sometimes hes questions are a little tricky but overall just pay atttention in class and go over your notes and you should be good. Loved the class awesomee!

Dr. D is by far the BEST Psychology professor at Brookdale, no doubt. All of his test are MC, and 50 questions, if you study you will have no problems passing them. & his assigned papers are graded very fairly.

He's very interesting and funny, but you need to read the textbook if you hope to pass his tests. He allows too many interruptions while he is teaching, which is frustrating to the people who are there to learn.

The only thing that made this class bearable was Dr. DeRobertis. The guy was intresting in his lecture and allowed a great amount of in class discussion.

Professor DeRobertis is perhaps one of the best professors I've ever had. His class is fairly easy, although you'll have to put in a little effort to get an A. I found his lectures to be very engaging. I got a lot out of this class. However, if you're just looking for an easy **** course, he's not the guy for you.

He's an awesome teacher, but he only has two tests, the mid term and final, and three homework assignments. The test were pretty difficult, but I managed to pass the class. If your looking for a funny professor, pick Dr. D. He is hilarious.

Gave a chili pepper, not something to look for in a prof though. Classes were engaging, however much of what he talked about & wrote on the board didn't help for the exams. I read the book & studied notes & ended up with a B (expected an A). I guess I should have read the book more, not notes. Tests inmyopinion were too analytical.NOT A PSYC MAJOR!

Dr. D is great! He makes class extremely interesting and makes the material relatable to our lives. He has the best stories, and his tests reflect his lecture. He gives good examples in class.... so you have to go even though he doesn't take attendance... take him!!!

Dr. D was an awesome professor. I made sure I had him for both psych 105 and 106. I would recommend him to anyone taking intro to psych. There's a few homework assignments through out the semester, but there's no more than a hand full. If you pay attention and take notes the class will be easy and fun.

Dr. D was a great professor. Little homework, and only 4 tests. Must be in class to do well on tests. His questions come right from the notes you take in class. Only thing that sucked was that if you didnt do well on the tests, your grade wasnt very good. So make sure you study in advance !

I took him for a couple different Psychology classes, and he is by far the best. He really knows the material. And he's got a pretty dry sense of humor that if you pay attention, you'll pick up on. The classes are work, but if you show up and take some notes, everything comes very easily.

He's so funny and laid back he makes you feel like you guys are having a conversation one on one. The class is easy if you pay attention but trust me its not hard with him teaching! Funny, understanding and really intelligent. LOVE HIM!

awesome professor! really shows interest towards the subject and uses good examples that allow you to comprehend the material. hes not as easy as the others are saying, but if you go see the learning assistant and do well on your paper then you should have no problem. this is my second time having him and i would recommend him to anyone!

Okay first I must say that his intelligence, enthusiasm, appearance and down to earth attitude are a panty dropper for serious psyc students. He's very engaging and his lectures are never boring. I look forward to every class. Awesome dude, very clear on what he wants, and as long as you do your part you shouldn't have a problem doing well.

At least two one-page papers due every week. Three term papers, three tests. Tests are in groups of three and still very difficult. Lectures last the entire class period, but professor makes it interesting and time goes pretty fast. If you don't mind working and reading the chapters, take this class.

With the semester almost over I have to say I have enjoyed Dr.D's class! He makes class hilarious and always relates everything to everyday life. His lectures tend to be a bit long and all his notes are oral and can make studying stressful. I recommend using his notes and the book to study. 1 hw assignment due each week but very easy and no essays.

You'll laugh through every lecture and he makes everything so interesting. He's an awesome professor who is willing to do whatever he can to help you understand the material. However, there is a TON of information. You have to attend every class to get the exact info you need for the exams.

Dr.D is not a walk in the park. You can expect to laugh and learn a lot about his life from this class but his exams and teaching style is a bit confusing. His class is all lecture and he does not give notes. I would REALLY recommend taking the textbook to class and highlighting everything he says. His lectures come from out of the book.

I read a lot about Dr. D on RMP before I started his class and I was so nervous but after my first class with him I was looking forward to the semester with him. He's a tough grader, no insight as to whats on the tests but he gives you plenty of ways to prepare - its really up to you and I respect that. He barely takes attendance but I wouldnt skip

Easy class!!! Just had 5 exams (open book) 1 five page paper, and the rest are participation points , pretty easy to get an A ! You honestly have to not do anything to fail.

Very intelligent and passionate about his career. His lectures are very interesting and you learn a lot, but you have to show up and be prepared to take lots of notes. If you take notes, show up to class, complete the readings and study thoroughly for his tests, you will do fine.

Professor Derobertis is literally the best psychology professor both at brookdale and Rutgers. He doesn't use a book or slideshow because he knows his stuff unlike most teachers today you will come out with real knowledge of the topic. if youre psych major and you want extra credit change your major graduate school is hard and a phd is even worse!

The logistics of taking an online class were hard and Prof Derobertis went above and beyond to figure out how I could take the class. Great professor. Knows his stuff. I really learned a lot.

If you're looking to learn about psychology in terms of the real world this professor is incredible. He does ramble quite often but its because he is so intelligent and worldly. I learned so much more than just the curriculum and he's hilarious. He is so reasonable with exams and gives plenty of opportunities to make up/raise your grade.

Perception&amp;Sensation -- Lectures are not powerpoints he speaks so make sure you write everything he says! He does go straight from the textbook which is good for referring back. There are 3 exams and an optional paper to replace one of your exams which really saved me! He is so funny and it is actually fun to be in class, highly recommend.

I will admit: hes smart. But his teaching lacks organization. He writes all over the board and makes you remember some useless statistics based off the book. That data will soon be outdated once the new edition comes out. Then what?? He puts those statistics as test questions. But other than that, he is very approachable. I would take him again.

Everything on exams is based off lecture, and he lectures the entire class. Make sure you take very good notes and pay attention to everything he's saying. It was graded on 4 tests and one term paper, so make sure you stay on top of everything. Like any class, study hard and pay attention and you'll be fine. One of the best professors I've had.

I disagree with bad reviews. My class just ended with him, his instructions for assignments are good &amp; easy to follow. He is always avail, offers extra credit multiple times through out online class. He replies in DF's, to allow you a 2nd chance to refine or clarify answer. Always responded quickly, he is kind, fair, respected, will take again

The key to passing this class is very simple: you have to go, and you have to PAY ATTENTION enough during class to write down everything he says. That is the study guide for the tests. There is nothing on the tests that he doesnt talk about in class. Also, he made the abrupt transition to online format due to covid, very smooth and easy.

I really did not think I was going to like this class, im not much of a science person and im more into the mind and less of the mind science and human science, but I absolutely loved this class. Im also not a person that enjoys school. I genuinely enjoyed his lectures. He is very smart and knows what he is talking about.

Professor Derobertis is undoubtedly one of the best professors at Brookdale. His lectures are thorough but concise, and the way he teaches is incredibly engaging. He does expect people to keep track of their own work, but he was always willing to discuss it if you needed any help. Overall, a great professor and a really nice guy.

Easily the best professor I've ever had. I had him last semester, and I liked the class so much that I chose to take another course with him this semester. I have developed a real sense of safety when taking his class. He is very funny and easygoing, and he is not terribly hard on you but still keeps you on track. I highly recommend.

Discussion posts are not one and done, the original prompts tend to not include everything he is looking for. He does comment on what you could add to improve your grades in discussions, which definitely is helpful in bringing up those scores. He reminds everyone when he posts comments and tests are not that difficult and are based on the text.

There are a few papers, one being a heavy graded term paper and a few tests that are over 50 questions each. As long as you put in effort and show up to his lectures you will do fine. Skipping here and there might throw you off a bit because he doesn't post much to canvas. He is very genuine and straightforward, taking him again in spring!

Professor DeRoberetis is engaging and knowledgeable. His lectures are concise but thorough, and he's willing to provide extra help. unstuckstudy was a game-changer for study prep.

Derobertis is amazing during his lectures. He answers any questions you may have and cares about his students. I really loved the perspective he would give and the real-life stories he would tell. make sure you start the essay early because it is worth 30%.

Currently taking my third class of his. It is very lecture heavy, they usually end early though and only run for an hour and a half- two hours usually. Usually no homework at all, just one term paper and tests every 3-4 weeks. Everything on his slides directly reflects what is on his tests. Study and you'll so amazing in his class.
