Very enthusiastic. He knows what he's talking about. Fun and easy class. No tests. Only a few assignments, which were challenging but he's a generous grader. Attendance is not mandatory. He records his lectures and makes them available for those who can't make it to class.
Great Professor. Makes Finance seem so easy. Attendance not mandatory but I recommend attending classes regularly to benefit fully from the class.
If you're scared of taking FIN 2000, but need an A, and want to improve your personal finances TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. As long as you do the work, you'll get an A. Tests are online but posted next to a video that pretty much does a step-by-step on how to solve it. Take advantage of the class, my credit score is up because of him. No joke he's THE BEST
Professor Skorodinsky is very relatable. He uses humor, presentations and hands-on activities to help us learn topics. He does planned lectures but incorporates real life current events to help us understand more.
Easy A professor and gave great knowledge
One of the best professor I had, he really care about the students. Want you to truly learn. I love the way he organized blackboard, his lecture very interesting . If you listen in class & do the homework and the assignments and you will be good.
I did the right choice for choosing his class. He is so well organized the lectures and they are so interesting. I was happy attending his class and he care the students. He is generous in grading. He wants the student to learn from mistakes and he is a great professor plus he has humor senses. Choose him you won't regret.
I don't know how he got good reviews but run those good reviews are the reason I am hating finance right now He's a good teacher but he doesn't teach a 2000 level class but rather a 4000 one Choose a easier teacher
Horrible. Supposed to be FIN 2000, the introductory class but the work he gives is too much with little to no instruction.
yes he very good (excellent job)
I don't understand how people write bad reviews. He's AMAZING! Very organized & interested in you understanding material. Not a tough grader because he wants you to learn & gives you many chances to improve your work/grade. He's very passionate and funny. Always stays after class and answers your questions. He puts his soul in the class. A gem!
This class was enjoyable all assignments had specific instructions. Professor Eugene is very enthusiastic. Since, it is a six week class it is fast speed but if you fallow every single step you will be great. I wish this class was 12 week long there is a lot to learn on excel, investment, marketing, life insures, mortgage real state etc.
This is a 7 week course and I just attended class like twice or three times. Homeworks and quizzes are tricky. I did really bad on the quizzes, and I supposed to get a low grade but ended with a B. I think he is a generous grader. Moreover, the grading for this class is based only on assignments.
This is one of the most relatable professors i've met. He is so funny and cool which makes a student want to attend his class. He is flexible when it comes to grades and attendance. He mostly use the teaching method of learning from your mistakes which was helpful and tiresome at somes. Some assignments are difficult but he might drop lowest grade.
His classes are funny and there were no Exams. However your grade is relied heavy on your assignment, some assignments were allowed to be submitted late. He does record classes and posts them on blackboard. Makes you feel welcomed and you get a little name card at the start of the semester that makes you feel like you're in a meeting.
10/10 overall
Highly recommend this professor. Came to class with enthusiasm and humor everyday. Did his best to keep the class engaged and gave some assignments the students would enjoy. One of my favorite professors so far.
His method of teaching is more outside the box, so it makes learning interesting and easier. No textbook needed, make sure you summit all your work on time for full credit. Sometimes even if it wasn't all correct you will get 100 for effort & onetime.
Good professor overall, but not my cup of tea. Extremely thorough to the point of exhaustion. Like 'Here's a 30 minute video in the middle of this assignment your taking', thorough. But surprisingly unorganized. The blackboard files were a headache to sort through. Otherwise, there's no reason to do poorly in this class.
Professor is good at teaching but the material is difficult off the bat. No room for mistakes as it will heavily effect your grade. Wording is your biggest enemy as wording of problems make the problem even more difficult definitely does not feel like 2000 level course. I would not recommend but he does teach you a lot.
He's a great option to take for finance 2000. I felt like I really learned a lot about personal finance from him. His assignments can be a bit tricky but if you review his recorded lectures, you should be fine. Plus, his personality really makes up for it. There were no exams or formal tests or anything which was nice as well.
He is probably my favorite prof. Very passionate about finance and teaching us. He made it so fun, the homeworks do have a lot of parts to it and can be tricky because of the wording. He's lenient with assignments that are not through blackboard. as long as you completed it, you get 100 for it. there was extra credit at the end, totally recommend!!
Do not take this class if you want an easy A in FIN 2000. Your grade mostly relies on blackboard assignments which are automatically graded by the blackboard software. Your grade is all homework. And there's probably about 2-3 hours of lecture and videos after every class. Take a different professor if you want an easy A in a half credit class.
I loved this class and the professor. Professor S makes my day with his fun lectures, videos, and stories about his own financial clients. Not only would I take this class again but I would take it a few times XD. Definitely recommend him, there are no quizzes or exams but he is homework heavy (its totally do-able though).
Professor S is not only one of the most entertaining professors I have had the pleasure of knowing but he makes lectures fun and tries his best to tie in real-life scenarios to our future financial problems. There are no quizzes or exams but he is homework-heavy (nothing TOO difficult). I've actually learned a lot, would recommend this class.
The lectures were fun and we had in class questions to answer. There were some big assignments since thats the most graded thing.
Professor Skorodinsky really knows how to have an entertaining class. He gives various types of resources to understand a topic, including videos/music/padlets. I did find his assignments challenging but if you listen to his lectures, you'll do fine, Overall a super fun teacher who is passionate about what he teaches.
great class attendance is not needed but if you show upon it will help you on the homework.
Good professor. Taught me a lot about finance. Recommend you take.
He is very sarcastic and expects you to just know everything. Does NOT grade anything just gives self graded quizzes although he says there is no final or midterms, which thank god cause you would just fail with the way he words his questions. Would not recommend.
A wonderful professor that really cares about the students and goes the extra mile in making something that is typically boring (finance) into something excitable. I found myself looking forward to going to his classes. However, the assignments were difficult in that they required an extreme level of attention to detail. Also slightly disorganized.
Professor Skorodinsky is incredibly passionate about the subject and adds great sense of humor to the class. However, his lack of organization and confusing (wordy and heavy) assignments made it challenging for me to stay on top of his class. It would be helpful if assignments were straightforward. Expect to use COMMON SENSE to navigate the course.
Good teacher, do not hesitate to email him in terms of misunderstanding of an assignment, he is very understanding and cares a lot about teaching. Straightforward guy and if you put in a effort to get an A you will get it.
10/10 This classes helped me realized how much I like using numbers and feel more secure about my major being finance. This affected me personally because it made me come to terms with my own finances and I feel like I am so much better off now. He's so chill too. Hw is kinda hard tho just read the questions CAREFULLY don't do it when ur tired
He really cares about making this course exciting. He provides great resources and the homework/classwork is based on real-life examples. Get ready to READ, no quizzes or exams but the homework is heavy. Don't submit assignments late. Assignments can be 1-4 hours long. He's funny and nice and makes class interactive
Professor Skorodinsky is incredibly passionate about the subject and adds great sense of humor to the class. I have learned a lot from finance with him. However, his lack of organization and confusing (wordy and heavy) assignments made it challenging for me to stay on top of his class. It would be helpful if assignments were straightforward.
Not everybody's cup of tea due to how he organizes assignments, but he makes an effort to improve. All in all, W professor. Show up to class, sit back and enjoy the lectures. Never rush the assignments, triple check before entering anything.
Professor Skorodinsky is incredibly passionate about his class, however it is extremely loaded with work. Make sure to stay on top of them and you will get a good grade. His course work is all over the place and he makes wording tricky, other than that he is very passionate and funny, just get ready to work HARD.
Prof. Skorodinsky is an amazing professor but the assignments were very wordy and unclear, the organization of his class on the blackboard is extremely bad.
trash quizzes. literally, the wording is so trash and confusing. Would definitely not recommend it. Probably take someone else.
good teacher, but assignments are a huge problem. they are very very wordy, to the point where it becomes extremely confusing. something simple that can be put in one sentence is made 5.
Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from, he probably writes up his own reviews. First day of class, he boasted about his rate my professor rating. Literally the worst professor I've ever taken. He expects us to read everything carefully but all he does is write a bunch of nonsense making everything more difficult than it needs to be.
I'm not sure why there are so many 5's for this prof. This is the worst professor you could ever take. Often forgets to take attendance which makes no sense because why even go at that point? So many 45 min + videos that are useless. Refuses to take suggestions and offers NO EXTRA CREDIT because it is "too much work for him to grade." Stay away!!!!
He's a good explainer, most of the concepts aren't extremely difficult to understand and he's chill as a teacher. The biggest problem is the hw assignments and the overall organization of the course online. There's way too much words, which makes it all confusing to understand.
no tests, just weekly homework. Homework is tedious with no backtracking and the only grade youll get. Format of class is confusing and unorganized but you get used to it. Homework is designed to teach you because the answer to the previous question is in the next one. Only watch the "asynchronous" videos he makes, not the other articles and vids
Not as difficult as other reviews state, especially if you have a good business base already. For me it was an easy A+ but the class is extremely helpful and I still learnt something new. The professor is GOAT and very friendly. Just gotta do the homework and pay attention to the details. Probably the most important class you ever gonna take.
Very weird organization system and grading is harsh as it is on Blackboard and one attempt only.
Honestly don't understand why there are many bad reviews. I barely watched and read the things he posted plus I miss a couple classes. The assignments requires attention, and by that I mean LOTS OF ATTENTION. However, as long as you can read and comprehend like an average college student, you should be fine. Organization is a little weird.
I think he's a good instructor overall, you can definitely learn based on the recording things he uploads if you miss class which is a huge plus. assignments are worded kinda weird, hard to read sometimes but at the end its mostly reading comprehension. its a good course and a decent prof. take him
the entire course is based on homework, all of his assignments are extremely confusing. people say his course is easy but it's the complete opposite, it's a finance class not a reading class, I should not be graded based on reading for a FINANCE class.
Prof Eugene is the best! He taught us how to utilize basic financial concepts into our lives. If you are looking for easy grades without actually studying and learning materials, this class is not for you. But if you spend time reading materials and watching his pre recorded videos, this class is very easy. Lots of homework but no exams.
Not sure why people are actually giving him good reviews, the class average is literally a B- ,with this professor's type of organization I'm not surprised. It's a half credit, introductory course, yet people are barely getting B's and C's due to this professor's lack of organization and irrelevant details in his assignments. Take a diff professor
Professor Skorodinsky was a great breath of fresh air from the stuffy textbook based memorization and problem applications. I enjoyed his insights from real practices in his own ongoing career.
It was great. I learned a lot about mortgages, how to do taxes, and manage expenses. He has a great sense of humor. The only thing that was kind of confusing was accessing assignments and videos in Blackboard. Lectures were so much better than my previous classes. I would recommend to just read carefully for the assignments and you will do well.
Tough grader, gives lot of assignments which is very hard.
He is a very good professor, I learned a lot in this class, he's funny and nice but his assignments are hard! 1 assignment usually takes about 2-3 hours and so easy to make stupid mistakes and lose points so make sure to read, reread before submitting, don't do them when your tired or rush!! Not organized but is manageable! Overall good
Very hard class to follow from the syllabus to lecture videos and slides everything all over the place
We were only graded on homework assignments, there were no exams. The assignments were easy, sometimes the wording can get tricky but he gives you enough time to complete the assignments. My advice would be to re-read the questions. Professor Skorodinsky is the right professor for this course & I am happy that I chose him for this course.
A lot of assignments but there were no exams. Assignments are scattered all over blackboard but he tells you how to navigate through them. He voice/audio records his lectures and posts them on blackboard for anyone who wants to listen to the class after.
Before the semester initially started I assumed this professor would have been pretty chill and the class would go by smoothly. However, he doesn't really explain a lot of things in detail. Most of the homeworks he assigns are so difficult and he barely gives any practice work beforehand. Honestly this is not a professor I would recommend.
Not sure about these few good ratings but do not take this professor. Everything is scattered all over the place and your grade is literally based of a few heavy , time consuming homeworks with only one attempt, so overly complicated for a 2000 level class..
He's a pretty fun guy, there's never a boring lecture with him. Most of his assignments are pretty tough but if you pay attention to his lecture and watch his videos you should be fine. Though they may be all over the place, he provides a lot of material on blackboard that can help you learn.
He is great. but some of he's work are very tricky.
He comes prepared to each and every class with meaning. It is a class to take if you would like to learn anything useful in life such as credit cards, debt, mortgage and much more. He respects every student and will make you laugh more than usual. If you need to take FIN 2000 or need a half credit class, I recommend Prof Eugene.
This professor will never have you bored in class, he records audio lectures of the class & post them up as well as the lectures slides. Yes, they are about 1-2 assignments almost every week but he gives you time to submit them. Some of his questions are very tricky with the wording so always go back to the slides & you will do fine in this class.
Excellent course! The professor did an outstanding job of teaching essential skills on this topic. This course equips you to handle life's significant financial challenges, such as understanding budgeting, saving, retirement investing, and credit management. It will equip you with a more informed and prudent approach to managing your finances.
Regardless of the grade you get, he is an excellent professor. Please pay attention to every assignment; sometimes, they are tricky. This course will help you with your finances, as it did on mine. I had no IDEA about anything related to retirement, and this class helped me a lot. He is always accessible after class for anything, very caring.
Pros: No exams, Grade Criteria is solely based on assignments you have to complete on a weekly basis. Cons: Time-consuming Quiz with no back-tracking (some questions will be tricky). My take: All in all, take it easy and make sure you do the right calculations. Completing the all assignments with effort will certainly give you a B+ at minimum.
Overall this professor is not bad in the way that he doesn't know what he is talking about. I found myself constantly getting distracted by the "fluff" he puts in the lectures and blackboard shell that makes it hard to follow along. Lots of memes, songs, gifs, etc. While for some may motivate them more, it is hard to keep on track and find assignment.
Great professor. Attendance for class isn't crucial but it helps alot. Make sure to watch the lectures and go over the powerpoints. Do the practice questions. For the assignments, its really easy to go back and check your notes. His grading system is simple. You want a better grade? Then perform better on the higher value hw. Take this man
I walked into this class dreading it, but seeing how much I enjoyed it was nicely surprising. Prof. Skorodinsky knows what he's teaching and cares to elaborate for you if you don't understand. You're always welcome to stay after class to ask questions. Read the assignments carefully, lol; the wording can be tricky.
No exams, only weekly assignments but read carefully bc his wording is tricky. Attendance taken on google forms but isn't mandatory. Blackboard felt very unorganized and he assigns a lot of readings and videos that u don't need to waste time watching. Sends a lot of funny gifs and memes. Funny and nice guy overall tho. Dropped 2 lowest grades.
Professor Eugene is a really good teacher, he is engaging and fair.
attend his class you'll get grades
Get ready to read. His lectures are amazing and you would learn if you attend class regularly. Professor make all questions by himself so you have to study hard and do all the work weekly to get a good grade. His gives a lot of homework which is helpful to get better grades. He is accessible outside classroom and gives good feedback.
Professor Skorodinsky is a very good teacher. Be sure to ask questions on what you might not understand or you will probably struggle on the assignments. Make sure not to leave assigments for last minute. All and all, the class was very educational and I would recommend everyone to take it even if you are not a finance major.
Great person and interesting lectures. A lot of listing and reading. Homework is intense and you have only one try. He excluded the worst two assignments and is a fair teacher.
great proff, teaches what u need to know to succeed but the hws are hard but he drops lowest grades, no exams his blackboard is extremely confusing and "unorganized", organized in his eyes but confusing for students to try to find hw, gives great life advice and u can ask him anything about anything, and he will give solid feedback, highly recc
The pros of his class are that he drops two of the lowest assignments. The cons of his class are that he never stops talking, and his assignments are unnecessarily complicated for a 1.5 credit class. His assignments are tedious and there's only one attempt on the homework assignments. If you want an easier professor do NOT take this class.
pretty easy class. No test only homework. but homework is more like an exam form. question by question which you can't go back if you pass the question.
Professor Skorodinsky is a teacher who is very up to date with technology and makes life easier for students. He explains everything with detail and charisma. I am happy to take his class because he knows a lot and gives us recommendations for our financial future, he knows a lot about Finance.
I recommend taking classes with him. Professor Skorodinsky is very up to date with technology and makes life easier for students. He explains everything with detail and charisma. I am happy to take his class because he knows a lot and gives us recommendations for our financial future, he knows a lot about Finance.
He is alway will to help and answer any qustion you may have.
This is the first class I've took at Baruch that I am willing to take a second time if I could've. His lectures are so useful and interesting for every day life right now. I highly recommand Prof Skorodinsky for anyone who is looking to take this course.
This is the first class I've taken at Baruch that I would've taken a second time if I could've. His lectures are so useful and interesting for every day life right now. I highly recommend Prof Skorodinsky for anyone looking to take this class.
I appreciate how the professor made the class and grading policy flexible. The course materials were both important and interesting, and the sat up on blackboard kept the studying experience engaging. I am glad to have had the professor for the course and would highly recommend taking his class.
He's an awesome professor. I was able to maintain myself very well during class. He loves what he teaches and is very passionate about it. However, the class assignments may be easy, and some may surely challenge you intellectually. Please take this class if you're ready to have fun and challenge yourself.
The professor was great but his online assignments were kinda tough but if you pay attention in class and follow his instructions you will do good. If you don't mind paying attention in class you should take him!!
Professor's Skorodinsky's teaching style and ability to convey the material clearly is amazing. He makes sure that his students understand his lectures vividly and if not his help is always available after class. He brings enthusiasm to his classes and makes them fun!
Amazing instructor/human being! Great lectures and are closely related to the real financial advisory world. Your grades rely heavily on the HWs, and it is impossible to do them perfectly, but that's his teaching philosophy: make mistakes and learn from them. His interesting memes/songs/videos make it difficult to not be interested in the topic.
10/10 He knows what he's talking about and has always had a positive personality. I would take him again if I could. His homeworks are a bit tough because wording can be confusing and you only have 1 chance to do it. Otherwise, he gives no exams. Easy to reach outside of class, his slides are really well organized and helpful.
One of the great professors at Baruch, you can tell he actually cares about his job and is very knowledgable in the subject. No midterms or finals, just take home assignments which he gives plenty time for. Would defiently take him again if I had the chance.
In my opinion, he's truly one of the standout professors at Baruch. His teaching is consistent, making it easy to follow along if you attend class and focus. He assigns three significant assignments throughout the semester, so it's crucial not to overlook them. Instead of finals or midterms, these assignments carry substantial weight to your grade.
He's a good lecturer and you will learn a lot of genuinely good stuff from this class. But don't expect that to reflect in your grade. He writes his own questions and they are often confusing or have added info to throw you off. You will lose points on lots of assignments because of this. Take at your own risk.
he is one of the best prof ive had so far id recommend other students to take him :)
Great professor, but the assignments were brutal. Only one chance on the assignments are given, so make sure you take your time. You will definitely learn a lot from him, he knows what he's talking about.
He is overall a great professor, I just think his workload is insane for a class that is 1.5 credits. I had more assignments in this class in a spam of just a couple of weeks then in my 3 credit courses in a matter of the entire semester. Also don't be so strict on grading considering it's almost everyone's first finance class with no pre req.
Just do the assignment and all good. No midterm, No Final
Yeah the reviews dont lie he is really good. He teaches a bunch of things you will definitely use in your life, and is really engaging even if you even if you're not so passionate about the subject. Not too many assignments too, and no final. Finally he is insanely enthusiastic and i actually enjoyed being in his class. Good luck!
No final, midterms, and quizzes, but homework assignments are crucial!! You must look under "Grades" on BlackBoard to see what/when it is due. Also, once answered a question, you cannot move to the previous one. Metaial are all on BlackBoard, including recorded videos. Overall as long as you do well in the homework, you'll get a good grade
Easy A! This class is not stressful. The professor is also very easygoing and interesting during this class. There are not that much homework, a couple of Excel (as long as you do it carefully and follow his requirements you will get full points, very easy) and multiple choice. You will not regret taking him.
Professor Skorodisky is amazing. Prepare to learn a ton with him through a case study. His teaching style is very practical.
The most chill professor i've ever had and is probably the easiest class i've taken in baruch. Do your assignments early and you'll get the easiest A.
He is a teacher who really knows what he is talking about. take this class! the assignments are a bit hard but he goes over how to do them in class and the biggest graded assignments he gives us multiple chances
Dude assumes you can spend multiple hours per assignment, the amount of time and effort this course takes in comparison to other finance courses is ridiculous ESPECIALLY for a 1.5 credit course, take someone else... this was a horrible call.
He is good but he is never clear on his made up questions, whcich makes it difficult. But at least he drops the lowest grade.
MAKE THE GROUP CHAT. A lot of homework for a 1.5 credit class, he is incredibly unorganized; prepare to do a scavenger hunt to locate homework. RateMyProfessor reviews are biased, look at the "Baruch Evaluation Reports" for a more accurate review of the class (not great).
He does a great job demonstrating how to apply concepts to your life. His quizzes are designed to make sure you understand the concept by the end rather then penalizing you for not knowing how to do something. Overall it was a very enjoyable class.
U DONT SEE A PROFESSOR LIKE HIM IN BARUCH EVERYDAY
The professor was amazing. His explanation of the course was easy so we could understand. He would not just read from slides as others, he was teaching giving us tools to use in real life. I loved how he would talk about a certain topic then he would give us homework. It was pretty intensive but is understandable because is short-term.
The best professor i have had in baruch. Class was very informative and he made it as entertaining as he could. Lots of assignment but it was intensive class so ofc its given.
Professor knows a lot about finance advisory. He makes the classes fun and engaging and actually want students to learn something from his classes. There is a lot of work outside of class and the homework doubles as quizzes.
Great professor! He's also a CFP (certified financial planner) so he knows what he's talking about. There are no finals or quizzes—just prepare to do lots of homework. You mostly focus on a case study for the entire half semester and dissect all the finance terms. Useful if you know nothing about finance/investing/money in general.
Actually teaches and cares about what he teaches, more homework than avg but its not that bad and theres no exams. Quizzes are online and not timed, can be a little difficult sometimes but nothing extreme. Grades fairly and you actually learn about things that'll help you with your personal financial future
He is really invested in creating an atmosphere where students dont get bored during class and its very easy to grasp concepts. He even gives hints on homework and you are able to use other assignments for quizzes and stuff. Also if you have a vested interest in financial planning this class is one of the best.
He's one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are amazing. No textbook, no exams. The weekly assignments take a few hours to complete, but everything you learn is extremely useful and beneficial. Definitely take him if you want to learn how to invest or save for retirement.
Really good, jokes a lot but genuinely wants toy to learn something, so the assignments might be hard sometimes.
Good professor!
best teacher ever and goes over the quizes and explanations after questions
Good professor! His is humorous and energetic.
Terrible Proffesor. He makes the class way more complicated than it has to be for a 1.5 credit class. The quizzes are long and tedious. Don't take this professor for this course, there are plenty of other good professors. The homework assessments are graded harshly and weigh differently making some assignments useless and others way to important .
Professor Skorodinsky is really nice professor and I found his classes really fun and engaging. The workload is honestly not that bad and the professor is super chill, he's generous with grades. A really cool guy that I like as both a professor and a person!
Very Passionate, about teaching, and others learning. Grateful I was able to be apart of the class.
Horrible don't take him, these reviews are not accurate at all.
He's a cool and funny person with a very unique personality. He has no tests, midterms, or finals but he gives out weekly quizzes/assignments on Brightspace that are heavily graded but easy to do if you understand the material he discusses during the lecture.
This guy is dope. You can pay attention and learn from him because he is a great teacher, or just do other work during class and take an easy A, as long as you do well on the assignments..
Amazing professor.. the only work is at home quizzes which are a little difficult if you miss lectures. Also there are a few excel assignments that everyone gets 100 on. He is so funny and super easy to pay attention to
Don't ignore his videos they are very useful. The quizzes and assignments could be difficult but he curves your overall grade. If you get a B you will end up with a B+. For some homework (excel being the major one) he gives guaranteed full credit. Assignments could be tough but it's useful information that will make your future self be grateful.
He is such a chill and amazing guy. He really does seem passionate about teaching personal finance and can always explain hard concepts simply. He does give a lot of Brightspace quizzes that can be difficult but nothing to bad. He is also a certified CFP. Definitely take him for FIN2000 if you can.
Amazing and engaging professor. Even though it is a intense class but the professor manage to assign task and lecture at the right pace.
Pretty chill professor. Lots of online work and excel but they're easy. He's really easy going with the grades. I took the winter semester so I expected the intensity. Its 2 days a week but there's actor recorded lectures to watch.
This course was fantastic! I learned a lot. Professor is really nice and knowledgeable. He gave us plenty of useful information. I wish I could take more of his courses. Many thanks! Highly recommend!
really awesome professor, I had taken this class during the winter so it was short semester and content intensive class. So there was a lot of work to do but it was expected and professor let us know even before the semester started. But overall 10/10 professor, learned a lot and was amazing to learn from him.
Professor Skorodinsky was amazing! Although there were many assignments, it's understandable for a winter session. He made the class engaging and fun, and he always took the time to walk us through the work when needed. You'll learn a lot from his course!
Really fun professor that makes you engage with personal finance in practical ways. Classes were intensive with multiple assignments between classes, but they were relatively easy and there were no exams. He spoke about how other subjects interact with finance, like how psychology impacts personal finance, in interesting ways that I'll remember.
Like most comments below, the professor really cares for his academic students and wants to make sure we learn the materials, especially in his class materials are not only used in corporate but in real life day-to-day even though the class was intensive. I was able to learn a lot in a short amount of time and crack funny joke, well worth taking.
no big exams; grade mainly consists of hw quizzes which were pretty tough, and took multiple hours, for a 1.5 credit class. prof himself is fantastic, though. very understanding, makes content easy to comprehend, posts class lectures online if you miss class. def recommend taking as a winter course.
Very enthusiastic about teaching. He is very down to earth with his students. It is very rare to still have these kind of professors around.
While the assignments can be time-consuming, Professor Skorodisky's clear teaching and multiple grading opportunities make this a manageable class. Unstuck ai is a great study aid alongside the resources provided.
Professor Skorodinsky is amazing in every way, he truly cares about his students, and makes you want to learn by not giving quizzes and tests, but weekly homework! Truly a gem, would take again and again
I just finished FIN 2000, this guy is very passionate and highly recoommend him! he is really fun and knows how to teach!
This professor really cares about finance and unlike other professors that just give you very little, easy work but doesn't really teach you, this prof actually wants to teach you stuff that will help you in the future. There's a lot of pre-lecture stuff to do, but they are not graded. Graded stuff consists of attendance, quizzes and assignments.
He's so funny and genuinely cares about students getting the most out of the class. Assignments + quizzes take a while to complete but you learn a lot. He explains concepts really well, the material can get a little difficult but not really. Just make sure to do well on the online quizzes + show up to class and you should do well.
He's fun. All assignments are due before the next class and take a while to complete. He explains the material well.
Great Professor; some difficult homework considering it's only a 2000-level class. However, if u pay attention in class and use the resources he provides, you'll be fine.
funny proffesor that really tries to make the content engaging. just wish he didn't give so much work because they were all pretty time-consuming for a 1.5 credit class
Good professor.
Such an amazing professor! Really cares about what he is teaching and making sure that the students understand during lectures. Assignments/quizzes can take long to complete, but really help you understand the material more. Would 100% choose to have him as a professor again.
The professor has a very unique personality that makes the class fun to be in, and is very humorous; however, the extended homework assignments were annoying.
This professor was great! This class was definitely lecture heavy and attendance definitely played a big part, but he was a very funny guy so that made up for it big time. He is also an easy grader and doesn't mind mistakes as long as you do the work. I would recommend you take him if you don't want to feel overwhelmed.
I would highly recommend taking this finance class with this professor. He's funny, lectures are insightful, and you only need to keep up with the assignments and quizzes he uploads online.
Professor Eugene was informative, insightful/inspiring and hilarious! He cares about us, does not force us to participate but encourages us to, which is why people actually do! The only catch here is he gives a lot of assignments which may take 1.5-3 hours depending on your working pace. As long as you go to his lectures, you'll ace everything!
If you want to learn actual finance then he is the right professor for you! His funny lectures make up for all the somewhat irksome homework assignments, which take a while to do, but really tells you about personal finance and teaches you important things that will stick to you forever. Unlike other professors, he is a rare gem!!
chill funny professor, class moves a lil fast paced but ur expected to keep up w vids on ur own time.
I loved the class. The professor is very caring and professional. I've learnt so much, because Professor Skorodinsky presented the, material in a very accessible way, I would definitely take it again
I enjoyed this course and wish it was longer. The lectures and discussions were riveting, the information gained was so helpful for my personal finances. Professor Skorodinsky moves at a great pace and gives the class time to discuss the topics amongst ourselves and as a group and find our own interest in the subjects, don't be afraid to talk.
Professor Skorodinsky makes his lectures engaging and easy to follow. He explains complex finance topics clearly and keeps the class interesting—you never get bored! He's very organized and always willing to answer questions, which makes learning the material much easier. Highly recommend taking his class!
Good professor, but be prepared to spend slightly more time studying and doing assignments/quizzes, as they tend to take a long time to complete (about 2 hours on average).
If you want to learn real personal finance, definitely take this course. Lots of homework, but it's doable.
Good professor, very caring about his students' success. His lecture is interesting. The weekly assignments are straightforward if you pay attention in class and understand the material he covers. And all quizzes are online. I highly recommend taking his class!
He knows what he's talking about and he really cares about his class and his students. 10/10 would take again!
He cares a lot and gives extra credit
Has a unique teaching style, does a good job in making the course feel "fun."
He was a great professor and super funny, he personalized his lectures and it was always interesting to learn new things even if the classes were so long. He makes the topics very understandable and even has videos with a step by step (of course after you attempt it).
Really good professor. Very informative, I appreciated the lectures. It was a seven week course in person, 3 hours each class, but he made it enjoyable to follow along and comprehend. Do the work!
Good teacher that cares, easy class, highly recommend
Such a great professor, so kind, funny, and genuinely cares about teaching students about their personal finances. Intuitive and engaging lectures. Lots of homework, maybe 2-4 hours per week, but very doable and directly relates to class content. Quizzes online and often include really helpful walk-through instructions. 10000% would take again.
I really disliked his testing style. He requires fill in the blank answers on exams on content that you have not had a lecture on yet and is looking for an exact number down to the cent. If you do not follow exact instructions you will get it wrong. He will not adjust your score later. There are many "trick" questions that are hard to gauge.
Great individual. Great professor. High Energy. God bless.
