she treats like you are so slow, which i love! took prealgrbra, college algebra, and stat, and i would recommend that you take all of those classes with her.don't take statistics unless you have to.she is the best when it comes to the math teachers in VB

Great teacher who goes out of her way to make sure that her students understand the subjects. Also works individually with any student on her own time if needed

She's an awesome teacher! I used to hate math but with her teaching style, it has really helped. She'll def, work one on one if you need to. She'll go over problems before the test and will answer any questions you have from like Homework, etc. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Great teacher, she is slow, and weird kinda monotone voice, but its worth it, she goes step by step, very good in basic math classes, and higher level!

great teacher overall. She is always willing to listen and will help whenever possible. All you have to do is let her know you need the help. Make sure you do the modules. They are a pain, but they help alot.

She is an excellent professor, whether you have a wealth of knowledge or none, she can make the math make sense, lowest dropout rate I have ever been apart of (after 32 credit hours)

i agree she seemed kinda slow. but she was a pretty good teacher. she was always willing to help and stay after with students. lots of computer homework!

She is an amazing teacher! Very thorough when teaching the concepts. You can go to her office any time if you need extra help. She is very friendly and helpful! She is kind of boring, but I mean, come on, it's math, it's not a fun class. I would 100% recommend her!

Very easy teacher. The Maple TA Program for online computer quizzes sucked, though, but overall she was a very easy professor for this course, and I would recommend her to anyone.

She's an ok teacher. It's very easy to fall behind in her class. Every week there is 5 to 7 homework quizzes which are very time consuming. With every two absences she drops your grade one letter. 4 tests and a cumlative final. On a positive note she's very willing to stay after class for extra help.

I loved her class so much! She is wonderful at explaining, and sometimes will give you extra credit in class for group work. I took Intermediate AND College Algebra with her, and I got A's both times. I recommend you do the computer modules before the test: they're great study help!

Awesome professor, highly recommended. She explains everything so well, and is more than willing to help you if you need it. I took her for intermediate and college algebra, and she's definitely the best math teacher i've had in college.

I recomend doing the online modules the same day as class and doing as many as possable. It brought my grade up from what it should have been. Very elementary teaching style. Good for those with a hard time in math. Very helpful with students!

I took MAT1033 & MAC1105. I MADE SURE I had her for MAC1105 because I learned that she was extremely easy to learn from in MAT1033. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

WOW, Dr. Allen is the NICEST and MOST helpful teacher I have ever had in my life. She is one of those teachers who LOVE teaching and it shows, the class itself isnt too hard as long as you takes some notes in class and you do the online assignments. I highly RECOMMEND taking this professor for every class possible.

She is a really good teacher. She is really helpful and she will take extra time to go over things with you. her test are harder than online, but they are still not difficult. I would take her for every math class.

Professor Allen was an incredibly good and easy teacher. I took her for Intermediate Algebra and passed the class with a very high A. I didn't study much but I still learned a lot by the way she taught. While she is sorta awkard, I def recommend her class. Enroll fast, cus they seem to fill fast.

Ms Allen is a great teacher. Will help students one on one, she goes out of her way to make everyone suceed. This is the second class I have taken from her. Bus. Calc is hard but she makes it ok. She gives good partial credit for tests to improve scores. Hardly anyone had dropped the class. Would HIGHLY recommend for a math professor.

one of the best algebra teachers at IRSC. math in general is hard, not much she can do about that, but she will try her hardest to help you pass the class including giving multiple extra credit opportunities. take her.

Amazing, she is an awesome teacher! Lectures can be hard to follow but she will respond promptly to all emails and such. I recommend Eva Allen to ANYONE but stay clear of Jesse Wilson for she is a horrible teacher and should be kicked from IRSC. She teaches history and knows nothing!

She's a very good teacher ! I'm not that great at math, but she made me interested in mathematics. She explians everything slowly, but that's a good thing for those of us who aren't strong in a math background. I'd highly reccommend her.

I definitely recommend Mrs. Allen. She gives so many examples and to make sure you understand everything. She also gives extra credit and partial credit on tests. I only got a B because I slacked a little, but an A will be easy to attain. :) The class was College Algebra.

Mrs. Allen is an excellent prof. take ehr if you ahve to take math at IRSC...she is super clear...even very slow people can get her...and partial credit ROCKS! if you take notes and do the home work...an A is easy to obtain...thank you Mrs. Allen!!

I had 3 great great math trachers n she is def one of them....I thought I would understand much n get behind takin mac1105 over the summer but from the first day I understood it all n never got behind....

She is AMAZING! I wish I would have had her instead of Deanna Voehl for intermediate Algebra. She is extremely patient and genuinely cares about her students successfull mastering the subject. If you have her - you are very fortunate!

Mrs. Allen was extremely helpful and a wonderful teacher. I took Intermediate Algebra with her and if you attend class every day and take good notes of what she does in class, you will be fine. I would definitely take any math classes i need with her!

Algebra is my worst subject. Mrs. Allen gives great teaching examples, so it helps if you don't miss any classes. Pay attention, take good notes, and do all the Hawkes homework (there is a LOT). Busted my hump and I rocked out with a A!

This class is NOT easy. The subject is very difficult. But if you have to take it, I would not recommend any other teacher. She is brilliant and simplifies as much as possible.

Great Professor! She was nice & clear. She is very thorough & makes sure that everyone understands the material. Not going to lie, I received a %76 on her first exam because I didn't study, which was my own stupidity. After that exam, I buckled down & studied. If you do the online work and remotely study the class is a decently easy "A".

I love tis teacher, she is incredibly helpful. She makes time for her students that need her. She welcomes different solutions to a problem. I was PETRIFIED of math prior to taking this course and she is a BOSS at math. Wonderful lady, excellent instructor, and encouraging coach.

She is more then willing to help her students. Test are a little difficult if you haven't done your homework or studied, but that is not her fault...if you study and get help when needed you can pass her class.

She's the kind of teacher you want to have if math is one of your weaker subjects. She repeats steps out loud several times to make sure you are following her. She's really nice and willing to help any of her students. There is ALOT of extra credit available if you do all of the online homework. This class is an easy A if you study.

Mrs. Allen was awesome!!! I took her for college algebra in the summer, very face paced. she always made sure that you understood the material and she would even offer to do study groups with students.

Fantastic teacher! She is a pro & knows what she teaches. She helps you find your careless mistakes in math. She is very sweet in person & is always willing to help. Feel free to drop by her office in her hours. She offers occasional extra credit. Always attend the class, lots of material in 1 day. Tests cover a lot of chapters. Be prepared.

Mrs. Allen is great. I've had her twice already and I'm going to be taking her a third time! Basically, If you go to class, do your homework, and study a little bit you'll get an A with no problem. Just remember, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Best math teacher at IRSC!

Algebra is my worst subject; SO hard for me. I once had a TUTOR call me stupid. Mrs. Allen explains everything clearly and encourages questions. I got an A -- so now who's stupid? Huh,tutor??Not me!! She is AWESOME!!

Tests are never multiple choice, nor is here any extra credit on them. They cover WAY too many chapters and material, and are only 20 questions leaving you with no room for error. She also goes over chapters you haven't even begun yet instead of reviewing for the upcoming test! She overloads you with waaay too much math. Horrible class/teacher.

Mrs. Allen is by far the BEST Math teacher I have had. She teaches clearly and is always open for questions. She is very patient and is always willing to help. She didn't even require a text book as all h/w is online so that will save you some $. She does give extra credit. Tests are not mult choice until final. TAKE HER CLASS SHE IS AMAZING!

Mrs.Allen is God's gift to Math. I hated math and performed poorly in it before her and I got a 95/A and loved attending her class to the point of I'm looking forward to College Algebra now! She also grades very fairly and if you show your work on tests she will give you some points back if you missed it.Gives extra credit for attendance too!

This class is tough, but Eva Allen is a great help, she will take the time to help you during office hours if needed. She has study groups and review time for test. She is very fair as long as you do what is needed. VERY HELPFUL!!!!!

Somewhat of a challenging class! Eva Allen is a good teacher but the actual material she is teaching is difficult and if you are poor at algebra then you will definitely struggle alot. Good Luck

Professor Allen is a gem of a teacher. Her lectures are clear and comprehensive, and she gives extra credit opportunities for every test. DO the extra credit! No need for a textbook, unless you really like using one. Pay attention, be respectful, and don't forget your calculator. A basic understanding of college algebra is necessary.

She is honestly the best math teacher i have ever had!! She is willing ti help you out as long as your willing to work for it. She is the best and is an overall very great and caring person! Would take any of her math classes!

Mrs. Allen is one of my favorite professors. Her class is pretty easy, all of the homework and quizzes are online and can be done at home. The tests are somewhat tough but she gives you points back if you understood the concept but made careless mistakes along the way. Overall very helpful. I am signing up for another class with her next semester.

Good teacher! Provides opportunities for extra credit, and has study sessions just in case you're not clear. Provides partial credit on tests, and teaches fairly clearly, but is helpful if you're unsure on the topic.

Ms. Allen is a very through professor. She teaches on a level where the students understand. She has patient and always available for the students when they need. Her focus is teaching the students. I enjoyed her class. One of the best professor I have ever had for Math.

Her lectures are extremely long, and does not believe in cancelling class. She gets a substitute to teach a college class. She is very monotone, and never wears pants. Dresses on a daily even when it's in the 50s. Do the work, and pay attention in class you will do fine.

Eva Allen is a wonderful teacher. She takes her time to teach. She does not move too fast unless everyone understands. Speak up if you need help. Go to class, take notes, her tests you get the full class period to take. She wants all get students to succeed.

I LOVE professor Allen. She makes math all of all types easy to understand. She doesn't mind staying after class to help you either. She grades fair and gives extra when she feels it's helpful. Not too much homework, but just the right amount. I took her for both intermediate algebra and college algebra and she was phenomenal! Such a sweet, lady!

Prof. Allen is an amazing math teacher! She works hard to help her students succeed, either in class or by the extra time she gives to tutor outside of class. The fact that it was a blended math class, online and in person, helped me so much this semester! Being able to work online with the teacher in-class, was an amanzing extra studing tool.

She was a great math teacher, and if you show all your wow she will give you as much credit as possible, cuts you breaks as needed, but her grading is crap, I did not deserve the grade I ended up with , with how hard I worked. I deserved my A, but she didnt round up my grade. whatever, great teacher, but that really bugs me.

Mrs. Allen was absolutely amazing. Business Calculus is an extremely difficult course, but I still managed to pass with a B. You will get what you put into any class, although she gives you all of the tools necessary to pass. She gives chances at extra credit before tests because she knows how difficult they can be. Although the class was difficult for me due to having to miss classes, I still passed because mrs. Allen is a wonderful teacher. She was very understanding with outside issues. She wants you to succeed and she will do her very best to help you with that. Mrs. Allen is an amazing teacher and would recommend taking her classes.

She is such an amazing teacher. Math has always been difficult for me but she made this class seem so easy. She will answer emails within a couple of hours, she's almost always available before or after class, and she treats every student as if they were her own kids. Took her for 3 math classes and she is the best. I would not have passed my math classes without her. She really cares and does everything she can to help you. MyMathLab homework and always do her study guides and practice tests. Gives a few points for extra credit on almost every test! I am terrible at math and she really helped me a lot to pass.

As someone who has struggled through math, I breezed through Algebra with mrs. Allen. While her explaining every step may seem a little tedious, she is a kind professor and makes difficult math problems seem very easy. 10/10 would recommend for those struggling in math.

Mrs. Allan shows she cares every day and is always available to help with any issue. She also has clear grading criteria as well as gives us other resources to assist us if we are struggling or need to refresh memory. She is easily understood and explains everything perfectly. I've never been good at math until I took Mrs. Allen. She is really an amazing professor. She breaks down every problem step by step and doesn't miss a beat. She gives ton of extra credit and always has office hours available for her students. I wish she taught Statistics. She really cares about her students and it shows!!

Tough class unless you've recently had intermediate Algebra (I hadn't in over 30 years) so for me - it was the hardest class I've ever taken - but for others it may not be. If you show up and put the work in (lots of homework and tests do count) she will bend over backwards to help you pass and provide extra resources. Excellent teacher!

Tough class, although easier than calculus - If you show up and put the work in she'll do her best to help you pass the class. Homework and quizes through MathLab. During the CV-19 pandemic semester Mrs. Allen did her best to provide resources and made herself accessible through FaceTime (I met w/her 2-3 times a week). Mrs. Allen is the best!

Shes very cool and a very good instructor, goes into depth on the difficult topics and goes at the right pace to follow along. She also give a lot of extra credit during the exams which help a lot

The best professor out there! She is fantastic, sweet, and helpful. She is willing to go over the material as many times as need it. Homeworks and Quizzes are taken on MathLab. Quizzes can be taken as many times as necessary. All she wants is the best for you.

I still remember things she taught us. I still remember her making us sing quadratic formula which I still sing it to remember it thanks to her and (shopping cart square root method (grouping the 2s like a shopping cart to eventually take out a single 2). Those silly but fun methods have actually helped me lots in my current math classes now :)

This class was super easy for me, but her lectures can get a little boring. She is an amazing teacher and is just very detailed in her teaching, if you didn't get it the first time she loves to help you as much as possible. There were a lot of questions for homework but nothing she hasn't taught in class, and if you do the work you will pass.

She offered study groups every thursday, and offered us extra credit. I took this class for fall semester 2021, and it was well worth it. Highly recommend.

Professor Allen was such a kind and caring professor. Her class was very self explanatory but you have to keep up with the homework and studying. She was always up for tutoring if needed. Hard material but she made it easy to learn and grasp.

Mrs. Allen was great. I was nervous about taking the class and was afraid I was not going to do well. She wants you to pass. so if you are not doing well in the class she will work with you to pass the course. She gives extra credit before every test and the pratice test is just like the actual tests.
