I took women's history and 20th cent. American online. I love history and I feel that I'm open-minded. She is not. She asks to write essays on our opinions and submit them. I wrote very good essays and received nothing more than a C-! I ended up going to the dean because I received a D in a class I was very involved in. They had to get another proffessor to look through all my work and regrade me. I received an A. All my essays were almost perfect. It was all because she didn't like my opinions. BAD TEACHER
She was horrible!!!! Didn't care about us learning, was just interested in speeding through material.
Had Eva for 105 before transferring. Her class was no more difficult than a UC history class, minus the 10+ page research paper requisite at a UC. If you're willing to put in the work and get something out of the class, get to know her, ask questions and stay on top of things. In the end you'll be more prepared for a 4 year.
This class was extremely difficult but I stayed involved and did the work I and I got an A. She was very helpful and encouraging when I came to her stressed out and overwhelmed. She was great!

This teacher is horrible, i sit in her class every monday and wednesday and check the time every 10 seconds. I love history but this teacher makes it HORRIBLE......its like have to sit through an old person telling you about their life....she needs to not teach. period.
She talks really fast and sometimes mixes the information up and has to back track... if youre not paying excellent attention you will get lost and stay lost for the rest of the semester . Be careful, i think you can learn something from her class but dont take it if youre not ready to bust your butt and study constantly. MIDTERM WAS VERY HARD!
Talks very fast, big ego. BUT... if you just make sure that you incorporate everything she's gone over in class into your essay tests, you'll do fine. Poor teaching, easy A.
She is an extremely fast-paced teacher, and assigns a REDICULOUS amount of reading material....her quizzes are impossible to pass! I have talked to several people in my class this semester who feel the same way and have been straight-"A" students up until they enrolled in her class. She is damn hard, so be prepared to WORK YOUR ASS OFF!

NOT for slackers! Not easy, a lot of work- but if you work hard you'll do well and learn alot. Be sure to keep up on your readings, and study/work on the essay questions she gives before the tests-if you study those you'll do well on the test questions/essays. HARDCORE feminazi-LIBERAL...if you're conservative/traditional- don't let her know it.
I learned alot of cool stuff in her class and recieved a B... I did not have to work extremely hard but it was not easy...She is definately a feminist but she is just passionate about women, which I think is cool...she does not talk to fast all of you are just slow listeners!!
This was an online course. Many lectures to listen to. Test were from text and lecture. Several additional paper projects during course were very time consuming. Found her to be reasonable and fair. I had an "A".
VERY fragmented. Definately do NOT recommend. Be warned, I didn't heed the warning and was so disappointed. Even the MJC counselors will tell you she is poorly rated.
This teacher is on something. Not something good. She is wayyyyyy out there. The word is "spacey". Hard core feminist...without a backbone! Why I took her course I'll never know. I passed the class but do not recommend her to even my worst friends.
the only thing you have to do iis take notes on her lectures and do your work off that. If you dont take good lecture notes grab another prof. She makes history interesting and is very helpful.
She's very unorganized. Her notes that students must print out are all over the place. You couldn't miss a class and still understand them. I learned much more in high school. I do not suggest taking her classes.
I failed hist 101 the first time and I got a B in her class.I never read any material, never opened a book and attended class about every other time.I stopped taking notes halfway thu cause hers are such a mess and they dont have anything to do with whats on the exams.No quizzes, no homework, just like 2 essays (both I wrote w/o reading-good luck
WHen I took this class I thought it would be easy. But I was wrong. This must be one of the worst professors I had in my college career so far. Although this was a online class the lecture notes have nothing to do with the Exams. Her grading consists of Quizzes, 1 Paper, Discussions, and Exams. She could of at least added some Journal writings.
I enjoyed going to the lectures, she is very knowledgeable. Although she talks very fast and is hard to understand at times. You have to read before you come, thats what threw me off. Good luck understanding her notes. I ended up dropping the class.
She isn't clear in what she wants you to do, and every single assignment was boring and hard to do. It's really not worth taking her.
This class was very hard and borring, the class was orignally huge with over 100 kids and ended up with probably 30 at the end from kids dropping. She was often late to class and as soon as she walked in she would get to lectures and not stop talking untill class was over, she was unclear on homework and tests/quizes and many people failed/dropped.
Very hard class! Hard to pay attention. She talks way too fast and pretty much everyone is lost in that class. By the end of the semester over half of the people dropped. Very hard to pay attention, can't help but check the time every 5 minutes. Don't take her she is a bad teacher

I took the online class and learned much. The negative comments are from students who're used to giving teachers what they think they want. She wants you to think. My "FASCISM's the best form of gov. because the masses are ignorant" essay got an A. She just wants original thought. Read everything, especially her guide to writing and you'll do great
this class was boring to me at times because i am not that big on history...but when it came to certain topics it was pretty interesting. there is alot of reading you have to do on your own but duh its college. i didn't show up to class sometimes and did okay on the midterm and final so i ended up with a C. not bad considering i didnt go sometimes
She wasn"t a horrible teacher, but I wanted a history class not a philosophy class. She taught more of a philosopy class then a history class.
Previous students warned me that she was a bad teacher. But Newell didnt fit into my school/work schedule. History is interesting and useful IF you have the right teacher. She sounds very inexperienced. Lecture is all over the place. Does not follow logically. She lectures on unimportant things. Waste of time, Hard to find enough interest to pass.
I dropped this class after the midterm..She is definatly the worst teacher i have ever had. I emailed her talked to her and everything and she could never help me at all. Was not clear about anything. All around was not good at all. I love history and love taking these classes to but she really ruined it,
Online Womens Hist. was great. Prof is very helpful. If you have trouble let her know she's very compassionate. U will work but she will give credit for effort.
well drawn out lectures for a online class
I took Mo for Western Civ and Women's History. Mo has high standards and she expects alot-but if you take college seriously and want an education- she'll give it to you! I learned so much and her class prepared me for University level work.
shes not tooo bad. although her essays are only based on lecture and the multiple choice is from hell. seriouly, i have no clue where she pulled those out of. if you want to take this class just make sure you can formulate your own opinion, because thats what she wants. i wouldve had an A if she wouldve bumped me up a .07%. grr to her stiffness.

Professor Mo is a good teacher if you like a fast paced environment. There is alot of reading that must be done. The only thing was that I felt I couldnt express my opinion for the fear of getting a low grade.
Her class is the hardest history class.

I took Eva for womens hist online and dropped her fast. I usually have no problem with the reading and quizzes, but she expects way too much esp. if your full time. Too much reading, lecturing and links to more reading. snore!
She is a really boring teacher. She trails off subject too much and her tests have nothing to do with lectures. I do not reccommend her at all. Only two tests and a final and one essay, she hasn't graded them still and semester is over. If you want to fail this is the class.
I had her for 2 days and i already want to drop out. You wouldnt like her style or teaching either so dont bother!
Mo grades like she is in english class, not history. Expected WAY too much as far as I'm concerned. Just picky and too high-strung. I failed her class and I love history. Take Newell!
I actually love this class. I understand history in a way that I never could taking his-story classes. It requires good study habits, and dedication, but well worth it particularly if you are female and want to know how you got here.

TOO MUCH. Women's History. Weekly assignments / discussions / readings, too much. Requires two midterm papers. This isn't a graduate history class at Stanford. Grades on a curve, basically has to, or everyone would fail. There were only a handful of us left at the end of the class. Not recommended.
Eva is a awasome instructor, she makes the class fun, fair and interesting. I recommend all women too take her class, she is one of the best teachers I have ever met! Yes you have to study but she is fair and more then that she has passion for what she teaches! If you show up and try she will give you credit for trying!History 116..I luved it!
This is college! What do you expect? Her expectations are high and there is a tremendous amount of reading, but I can definitely say that this is one of the classes at MJC that I have learned the most from. If you can get over the fact that you will actually have to work hard and devote time to this class, I would very much recommend it!
I loved the content of the class but she requires an impossible amount of work. No feedback. Doesn't return papers in a timely manner so you aren't sure how to approach the next paper. I love a challenge but this was not an invigorating challenge, just stressful.
I took her online Hist. 105 class, and it was absolutely terrible. I understand that college is supposed to be challenging, but this course was beyond anything I've ever experienced. Needless to say, I dropped it after a few weeks. I didn't get a refund for the class, but I'd rather lose money than get a bad grade I didn't deserve. NOT RECOMMENDED
She requires SOOOOOO much reading, taking this class in the summer made it worse! I was so warn out, but I did learn A LOT and some how came out with an A. She curves her quizes and there were two essays as the exams. Had no feed back or help from her online class. If you work hard you should be fine...But VERY worn out at the end of the simester!
I think that she has a well set up class, but hes so irresponsible.I mean if you still don't know what your grade is 3/4 of the way through the semester...than how are you suppose to pass? I felt fustrated and cheated in her class. Do not take online...you'll be stressed out.
Mo is a very hard teacher. She talks extremely fast. She knows her history extremely well, but she doesn't teach it in a way that makes you as interested in it as she is. If you take her class make sure you do ALL the reading!!!! That is very important in her class.
I don't understand what people have against Mo. She's not an unreasonable teacher and when you take her class you will learn what a University-level history course is like. I took the class online and the lectures were helpful. If I didn't catch something I could just listen to it again. It's not that hard of a class if people are willing work.
This class required a significant amout of time for a 3-unit class; so if you are looking for easy history credits, you should shop elsewhere. I did, however, learn about several historical eras from different perspectives. I would also recommend taking ENG 101 before you take one of Prof. Mo's classes.
Mo has high expectations; if you're serious about your education her class won't be a problem for you. There is a lot of reading and "extras" that aren't noted until the last minute; however, she does give "lighter" loads the two weeks before papers are due. This course requires a high level of analytical ability, comprehension, and writing skills.
She moves fast but she is passionate about the subject, and she knows her stuff. I like and respect her
She is ridiculous. I understand that this is college and it should not be easy but she is just ridiculous. At least four discussions a week, at least 2-3 chapters to read and they are boring chapters! She expects WAY TOO MUCH and you cannot get ahold of her for help about anything tried email, calling & office cant get ahold of her. DO NOT TAKE!!!!
Her online class should be labeled hybrid as you have to go to campus to watch movies like five or six of them, and to pick up an extra reading that is not in the books as if what you already have to read is not enough.
I would not say that Mo is hard in any way. The class is just ridiculous. There is a huge amonut of reading and the papers assigned are convoluted. As far as helpfulness, she gets a zero as she rarely if ever responds to e-mails. Having an online class listen to lectures is frustrating and going nearly the entire time with no grades is stupid.
Professor Mo is a fantastic instructor who loves what she teaches and knows her subject well. She is not easy, but she is attempting to prepare JC students to transfer and do well, which she does a fantastically.
If you go to school full time and take one of Eva's classes you'll fail her class. She is ridiculous 2-3 chapters a week plus four discussions and finally twenty more pages of extra reading.She's terrible I emailed her and heard back a month later and found out I was failing.Online teachers don't get paid enough to actually teach hence no response.
Insane amount of work. If you have a life, work or any other classes do not take. So much reading!!!!
Mo is very demanding and has high expectations of her students. If you get an A in her class, you've WORKED your butt off for it. She was responsive and clarified her assignments as needed. She was great, but she's definitely not for the student who is looking for an easy class.
In 06 I transferred to UCLA to study history. I want to give anyone out there with high goals a reality check. Mo does not give an insane amount of work, nor are her exams impossibly difficult (you'll never use a 3x5 card on an exam again after this). Her courses were the ONLY! ones that prepared me for a UC. Studying and work are not optional!
Professor Mo?s class was excellent! Was there a lot of work? Yes! Did she have high expectations? Yes! Did she provide you with the tools to succeed? YES! Not only did she offer a comprehensive syllabus, she also offered an excellent essay writing tool so that you could do well if you applied yourself. Excellent lecturer and Professor!
After reading other comments about her I am left confused. I took the online course during this last summer and was quite irritated. She didn't respond to e-mails, didn't post our quizzes, and basically gave up on the class half way through. Easy, of course it was, but that's not what I wanted...I wanted a teacher. Horrible.
She gives so much homework it's ridiculous. I had to cancel the rest of my summer classes to focus on her online course; however, she gives good feedback and the work isn't so hard. Her lectures are very interesting.
Class is TERRIBLE! she doesn't explain any of her assignments, yet you have to do them. I expect to not have my hand help, but if you want a teacher that will actually teach and not expect you to figure everything out on your own, look else where.
So much hatred for poor Professor Mo. It's true, she gives out a lot of HW ( a chapter a week) but stay on top of things and her class is a breeze. The 2 big tests aren't bad if you do the HW and attend lectures, only 1 major paper, and the class will test your responsibility skills (which most of the complainers here lack).

she lectures the entire class. It gets rather boring at times. the work isnt that bad tho. The final/midterm questions are on her site ahead of time. She does take a long time to grade papers. Though there was almost 200 kids in my class. It made it difficult to know where you stood.
She's a horrible teacher. She goes too fast on her lectures. She makes stuff too hard to understand. Too hard to keep up. I'm usually one of the better students in school, but it wouldn't have been with this teacher. I dropped out of this in about a month.
I have taken many classes by Professor Mo. She responded to emails in class & out w/out delay. Her expectationss are straitforward & clear, her grades are curved to give students an even better chance of passing. Out of ALL of the teachers I've had at 4 different schools, she is by FAR my favorite. I have enjoyed every one of her courses.
I wouldn't take her unless I absolutely had to. Her lectures online are hard to listen to because her voice is SO annoying and she's too close to the mic. The only thing you have to do is write essays every 2 weeks. I would drop this class if I hadn't already bought the book and stuff
I find her to be very unclear, an unhelpful. i wouldn't take this class unless you have no choice...she tends too not stay on topic an falls into talk about women suffrage every class!
She helped me a lot when I went to ask for help! I enjoyed Professor Mo's class very much. She mentions a lot about women's sufferage, but it helps when it comes to memorizing events in history. All her essays are lecture topics so basically all you'd have to do to write that essay is to review those lecture notes. Thumbs up!
I took the online class. It was a LOT of reading for a summer class; however, I found the readings very interestig. Eva Mo was very helpful and responsive via email. I am a Mac user and had diffictulties accessing some of the lectures and needed to use a PC sometimes. That was a pain. Good Class and I earned, I earned an 88%

I had three classes with Professor Mo. In all three I had an A, in two over 100 percent. She's a wonderful person and she really cares about her students, she is also extremely knowledgeable. The problem is that she is often so overwhelmed by work that she falls behind, I noticed that toward the end. Give her a chance, she deserves it.
this teacher is horrible i just took her this summer,at first i thought she's not that bad but she is first complaint i have with this professor is she uses the quizzes for ur multiple choice on the test but their are different test that she has so when it came to the final none of my Q's were on the test,doesn't reply to email, over load u on work
The class is difficult as it is, lots of memorizing and random info. Mo is a nice person, but i wouldnt recommend as a teacher. I have straight A's but received a C in this class, and everyone i know dropped the class within 3 weeks. Tests are extremely difficult and study guide information is irrelevant to the test. Different prof maybe?
lets just start off by saying I love history and I have always been found of my history teachers but I absolutely cannot stand her she is incredibly boring, talks about subjects completely irrelevant and takes to long to grade anything. If it can be avoided try your hardest to never take this with her!
Well she is pretty attractive. I have an affinity for Asian women. She grades relativity easy and gives a lot of advice on blackboard and in class. She assigns a couple of out of class essays not a biggie. However her lectures are all over the place a lot of time backtracking to what she left out. Definitely lacks enthusiasm; shes not terrible tho.
Horrible do not take her class. She gives out more work than she can handle to grade. my summer class did not recieve our grades until 2 weeks after the semester. i was unsatisfied with my grade but it was too late. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS YOU WILL HATE IT!!!!!
Good teacher, first weeks may seem hard but if you stick it out its not as hard. I have her for womens studies its a interesting class. If you want to do well must keep up with the readings! If you're not a reader look for another teacher!
This is a hard class. She does require a lot from you, however she gives a lot of help ie. long sections of help and instructions about how to write an A paper. She has good office hours and is always willing to look at thesis statements and outlines and give specific help. The class is for serious students and will prepare you for university level
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! I made the mistake of taking this class even after reading some of these comments on rate my teacher. I don't even know how Eva Mo became a teacher she constintely says "and and ummm umm". She makes it very hard to learn and gives WAY to much homework. I passed but learned NOTHING. DO NOT TAKE EVA MO!!!!
Eva Mo is a classic example of a CC instructor that has no real interest or enthusiasm for what she does. She constantly forgets to include key things in lectures, often backtracking making it hard to keep up. It is now 16 days after i took the final and still have no grade. She just doesn't give a damn. PLZ AVOID!!!
By no means is Eva a bad teacher, I'm sure there are some who would do fine under her instruction. My main complaint is that she is so very analytical. There's a lot of "(Why) do you think?" questions, which I'm not used to in a history class. If you can't handle that, it's best to avoid her, at least for history.
took class over the summer. required a lot of reading and studying for exams and homework. lectures were confusing and she always second guessed herself. attendance mandatory she does random activities and will call you out for missing. She is rude and has no problem telling you what she thinks of your work.
I liked her she wasn't too strict and she really enjoys history.Especially supreme court cases. But you will be lost because everything is lecture. she has powerpoints but she rarely refers to them and she expects you to bring printed copies of her Powerpoint so she doesnt really allow time for good class notes. She was not the best teacher but ok
She is very disorganized in her online classes. She gives many different links to different lectures and assignments that can make it very difficult. She also gives an extreme amount of homework. Stay away from her very disorganized and demanding.
By all means avoid taking any class with her! She lectures about irreverent topics, is too critical (constant "WHY" questions), confuses herself and you, and in-class work is ALWAYS in pairs. She is helpful if you go talk to her in her office, but that's about the only time anything she says makes sense.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. With all do respect, she is not the most helpful teavher on campus. She puts up powerpoints and talks nothing about them. She requires 3 different books and the whole semster ive only used 1. And that was the $15 dollar one. She asks way for way to much in return with what she gives.
She means well, but she is just so unorganized. Had her 4 Women's Studies-feminism and women's suffering were the main topics You are left so confused with what she expects with her assignments. I had to see her several times in her office to get clarity on things. She assigns ALOT of work. She starts saying something,stops, and says something else

AVOID THIS TEACHER! She is unclear, disoriented, unorganized, difficult to follow and assigns too much "busy" work, unneccessary work. I'm very disappointed because I really WANTED to learn History! I've been in this college for almost 3 years in pursuit of my degree and she is the least effective, least helpful, most difficult teacher yet.
Do you care about knowing of your overall grade throughout the semester? Then DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS! You will NOT know of any grades, as she does not grade anything! I have yet to learn of my overall in this class. Makes it seem as if she does not care about her job, or of her students. Also this class involved FAR too many assignments and reading.
I took two classes with her this semester. I did have to drop one because of the high workload, but her grade curving is generous and you will receive a good grade if you actually do the work. Very nice in person and helpful. Expects you to be very analytical in your essays.
If history is not the air you breathe, do not take this class. Midterm covered nine chapters, over 50 questions, and we had to be prepared to write a 3 page essay on any one of 7 essays that she would pick at random. Very difficult class, lectures more or less unrelated to material in book and tests; would not recommend for non-history majors.
Teaches cause and effect which I find a lot more helpful than remembering dates and important people. Workload on a full class schedule felt as it should have, not too much not too little. She likes her job which is a plus too, although sometimes she does get lost. Doesn't teach out the book but it is needed. Show up, do your work and you'll be ok
I thought this class was well taught. I really enjoyed her History 102 class more because she is more passionate about court cases, womens rights and civil rights. I like this professor because she is flexible if you take the time to approach her. She is teaching several classes every semester and that may be why she can mix things up.
This teacher is all over the place with her lectures and rarely ever uses the books required. You wont know if you passed or failed until the end of the semester. She gives a lot of work and the final was ridiculous!!!! We had to do an online essay, an in class essay, an oral report, and a 50 question quiz. If this is not your major dont take her.
I dropped this class because the teacher was too scattered for me to follow. For example, the reading would be chapter 2 and she would lecture about chapter 4. When people would ask questions in class many times she would not give them a straight answer. Several times when someone would ask a ? she seemed critical and annoyed when answering.
I did not anticipate having to drop this course. It was only 3 units, but feels more like 5. This teacher will make you think, but asks for way too much work. If you have a full time schedule, do not take this course. You will be swamped and your other class grades will drop. If I hadn't dropped when I did, that would have happened to me.
Do not take her class if you plan to take more than 6 units. She is scattered in her lectures and takes a long to time to grade anything that is turned in on blackboard. She assigns work more suited for a 4 unit class, instead of 3.
This Teacher is terrible..and that's a pretty generous comment I made the mistake of just taking her because she was the only one available there was tons of people on waitlists for other classes and hers was only half full and it was a lecture class of 200 well now i see why people avoided her Im not saying its impossible but its hard to keep up

This class, is a full time job, 40+ hrs/wk. Midway point, 7 quizzes, 16 discussions, 32 discussion responses, 1 book, paper on book (draft), paper on book (final), 1 mult. choice midterm, 1 midterm essay (3 topics given to study for 1 essay but subject to change with more added to question, mine did). All submitted, only 5 graded items as of today.
STAY AWAY!I have 3 weeks left of this class and have NO IDEA whether I will get an A or an F because this teacher assigns 5 different lengthy assignments/week and has so far graded almost none of them. The midterms are long essays where the directions are unclear. She comes off as a very strict grader but she has yet to grade any of my midterms.
Don't take this class. Lectures are all over the place, and make no sense. She gives an outline for lectures but doesn't use it or talk about most of it. I've never got lower than an A on an essay and didnt get higher than a B on ones in her class. Textbook isnt utilized. Probably takes 10+ hours a week to get an A in this class
I am currently taking her summer course and it's a lot of work. She talks really fast and goes off topic a lot. She is also very unorganized and never prepared for class. Even though I am hating this class so far, it's fairly easy considering she kind of sucks at teaching. I would only recommend that you take this class if you can teach yourself.
She was very confusing and had really hard tests and was a hard grader on essays that had hard questions.

Very poor teacher, words are sloppy, she loses place left and right. goes off topic every chance she gets. hand writing sucks,and shes rude. if you come up after class with questions shell try to make you feel lesser while rushing you to get out. would not recommend this teacher at all.
I thought when I decided to take the women's studies class that I would learn something about women. she goes off the subject and relies mostly on the book to teach us. every class meeting we have a quiz on are reading and she gives out essay assignments with instructions how to space and what line she wants what written on. don't take this class
She's a terrible teacher, which is a real pity, because it's obvious that she's passionate about her subject. She's disorganized and rarely fully prepared for class. There is a pop quiz at the beginning of every class on whatever chapter we are reading, which wouldn't be bad if she knew how to write clear, concise test questions. Stay Away!
This is the toughest class I have yet to take. She is so vague in her lectures that you have no idea how to study or what to study. She also only has the midterm and final that are the only main grades and you have no idea how you are doing in the class until it is exam day. DO NOT TAKE HER even if she is your only option.

As a student who finished the class and did NOT give up drop, I can reflect on the fact that the amount of knowledge and critical thinking skills I took away from this class EXEEDS any grade I could've gotten. The A is nice, I guess. ;) But beyond that, she solidified my self-efficacy and I'm prepared for any class.

Professor Mo is very passionate about history. She utilizes media to enhance her lectures which are very informative. Student participate in discussions which is interesting. The text book and supplemental reading were great. Students are expected to work at college level. If you want to be ready for 4 year college, Eva Mo is perfect.
I had her a few years ago. If I would have paid attention and actually showed up to class, I would have easily received an A. You have to work for it. She is helpful in her office hours.
Mo is DEFINITELY not getting enough love. It's a difficult class but it is college and she does a great job creating lectures. The women studies class alone was WONDERFUL. Please give this class a try. It is intimidating at first but it is so worth it. There are weekly quizzes and odd essay prompts so study and ask for clarification on the essays.
If you have a good work ethic and stay on top of things, then you might enjoy her classes. However, I found myself incredibly confused because her lectures were unorganized. And when I went to ask for help, she would just look at me like I was dumb. I went to every class and am a history major, so the class shouldn't have been such a struggle.
She is one of the worst teachers ever I've taken. She isn't clear with any of the instructions she gives during the semester and when you email her for help she doesn't get back to you in a timely manner and when she does she doesn't clarify things at all. Her two favorite words in lecture are "Um" and "Uh" She blows!
I took her Women's History class online and loved it. If you're used to a lot of work and have the time to put in, you should be fine. Whenever I had trouble, I usually got a clear response from her in a day or two. In her online classes, discussionparticipation is absolutely necessary, to both understand the concepts and to get a good grade.

I overall enjoyed her class, but don't take her if you don't have the time to put into it. I worked 2 jobs and took her in two classes and it was way too much. She assigns a lot of work but is also very helpful and keeps herself available if anyone needs help. She also is nice about retakes and does her best to ensure those who try get a good grade
This should be a 12 unit course. The instructor assigns far to much homework I think I spent an average of 3hrs on homework sun-sat and I got a B. I have a 3.5 GPA. If I didn't love history this would have been a nightmare! I had to go to her office to talk with her in person. The one thing this class did was teach me how to study. Boring lectures
When she gives lecture, you can definitely tell she is very passionate about History. As long as you take notes, are present for lecture, and do the assignments you should be okay.
Lectures are too long, get ready to write. Seems like she knows a lot, but has trouble making it easy for us to understand. Tests are tough-your notes are your study guides so take some pretty good notes. Has easy pop quizzes. if you don't do the term paper you will not pass.
Many, many, MANY tiny online quizzes and pop quizzes on insignificant details from reading and lectures. Read and understand the material and you'll do fine, but she is very specific about attendance and participation. For intellectuals, this class is pure historical gold for interpreting primary sources (which is missing from most survey courses)
Does not grade the one and only thing that needs to be graded on time. Puts important class rules in one sentence within the syllabus making it easy to not catch it and throwing the whole semester off course. Expects you to read a 400 page book within 1 week if your not careful but if you are, you get maybe 2 weeks . Not recommended to anyone.
She is very unprepared. She also, has very messy hand writing that is hard to read & she tends to be all over the place with her notes she gives in class. She skipped over many things in class saying we should have already learned it in high school. Overall she is not a great history teacher. I would not take her again or recommend her to anyone.
The HISTORY part of her lectures was very interesting. But if your feedback on the lecture doesn't agree with HER POV then she ignores you or says your POV is wrong. She had a lot of opinion on the subject which is fine as long as you are willing to be open minded to those whose opinion is different than yours, she isn't. I do NOT recommend at all

She is very picky about what she wants. talks too fast and wont go over what she said. expects you to memorize every lecture note and word in the book.
The type of student I am: I always read the book, take notes from book/lecture, excellent attendance, turn in every assignment, studies before tests and do extra credit. With that said, this prof workload was Extreme! Quizzes (sometimes 2x in a week), read 3 books, 3 essays, 2 midterms and final. Final was 2 essays! Never again!!!
She gives the most homework than any teacher that I have ever had. She is slow at grading and barely contacts students. No one in my class actually takes it seriously and I seem to be the only one trying. Her quizzes are the worst, she asks questions that you would have never thought of. The only thing good about her is that she gives chances.
She's Not organized and writes very sloppy on the white board. She Teaches time management but shows bad time management in class. A fast slideshow is not fast at all. If you take this as a summer class, it's overwhelming at first with all the homework. The class is not the problem, it's the teacher. My advice is to take another teacher.
MOST AWFUL PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. She is the least bit helpful, and uses a terrible online course server. Very expensive. Terrible to read on, and the information in the slides never matched the tested materials. Took too long to grade assignments leaving you waiting until the last minute to know you grades before the semester was over.
Tons of reading, convoluted quiz questions, a complex grading rubric which you would not expect to translate into "will still get full points for trying, even if you're not passing the convoluted quizzes and wrote gibberish you made up without reading because you got sick of it all" and yet it still does. She also didn't grade anything for 1 1/2 mo
I passed and bombed all the mulitiple choice tests. Didnt try all that hard. Long lectures. Do well on assignments and essays and will pass.
I was not a big fan of the lectures. They were a little drawn out and boring, while grading was very unclear.
She is all over the place during lectures. Gives a lot of reading. Make sure you have the time to read 23pages per handout.
Took this class and had soooo much reading to do from a variety of materials. Quizzes were weekly but averagely 15 questions per quiz with about 20 minutes to complete. Good thing is we got 3 tries, highest score records. Discussions are weekly as well. Takes awhile to get things graded so that leaves you unsure on how you stand in the class.
This women has next to no idea as to what she is doing. At least half of her links do not work, and she has unreliable sources (I'm talking Wikipedia here). Get ready for discussions, and lots of them, sometimes 3 in a week. She clearly doesn't proofread her slides or online tests, there are grammar or formatting errors everywhere.
Worst class I've ever taken. Lots of quizzes & complicated papers that she doesn't even grade for at least a month. Lectures are all over the place. If you miss 3 or more days of class you have to schedule a meeting with her during office hours to show her your notes from the days you missed. LOTS of reading & mostly fast paced auditory lecturing.
If you are looking for a challenge, this is your class, if your looking for an easy A, keep looking. There is A LOT of required reading, lectures and exams are essays. Be prepared to work hard and your writing skills better be on point. Don't expect your stuff to be graded quickly but if your a writer (history majors better be) you will do well.
She's an amazing, passionate instructor, and I'd definitely recommend her if you want to learn how to be a better critical thinker. Be sure to read your weekly chapter early and take notes. Notes will be invaluable for your midterms and quizzes! The Wonder Woman text- it's in order of time, so only read from the important decades for the final.
Prof. Mo was an excellent online teacher! Yes, she does give alot of reading assignments and quizzes here and there, but this is college, and I think it's great. She makes you think deeper, learn more about history in detail, and is very easy to get in touch with. She's also very responsive to emails.
Two 8 week class. Lots of reading and homework but doable: an average of 4 chapters and 4 essays xweek + video-lectures. Critical thinking a must. 2 essay exams. One 5-page paper. Average of 4 written analyses xweek. About 4 quizzes xweek. Great class. I learned a lot. This class is for self-disciplined students.
She is scattered and vague. Says one thing in her directions and means another. I would never take her again. Ever.
its been one month since semester has started,I have noticed many students are still confused about what she wants done for all assignments. Not very helpful with students when they need help on certain assignments, tends to sway away from topics and goes off track. Leaves students even more confused than when we entered. She said um 200 times in only an hour and rely on her notes for the lecture, making it hard to understand
her tests sometimes cover things from the week coming up that we havent learned yet, and she does say um alot but I will say she let me turn in my midterm 5 days late and gave me 90% when I had to go back after that to fix citations. She is helpful if you show that you work and ask for help before an assignment is due. Awesome lady.

She's passionate in her teachings, although she can tend to confuse herself as well as the students. As long as you attend each class, do good on quizzes, essays, & assignments, and are not afraid to ask questions, you should be able to pass this class.
Taking this class took plenty of work. There is a large amount of reading to do. The lecture were enjoyable, but at some moments a little choppy, but good as well. The professor is very understanding and helpful. She is good at helping student and guiding them in the right direction.
Professor Mo really knows what she is talking about, and is really into her teaching. While she is good at giving lecture information she is not good at assignment information. She changes her mind a lot about assignments and puts a lot of credit in small tasks. Attending a majority of the classes is vital.
I had Eva Mo for womens history this semester and I just dropped out of her class last week. Her assignments are very tough and I dont think that shes very good at explaining assignments throughly. Im not so fond with her way of teaching. Her teaching is definitely more advanced. Be ready for a butt load of work if you take her class!
I beg you to not take this class with her. She has little compassion or empathy for her students which is oe of the greatest signs of a leader. If there are ANY life issues to arise she has no heart for late work. Her greatest loss is the connection with her students. Another note worthy reason to sign up with another professor is less reading.

If you are a procrastinator, like I am, it could be a struggle to have everything in on time but I highly suggest you do every. single. assignment. I cannot stress this enough. Yes consisted of a lot of work, but IF YOU DO It should receive great grades. I enjoyed her, and learned a lot. Incredibly long lectures and very difficult to get into. Follows up with powerpoints but all her tests and pop quizes are off her lecture. Difficult essays worse than an english teacher. Hands down the worst professor I've had at MJC. Her uploaded lectures were fast and very poor sound quality. No subtitles or Closed captions. Her prompts are vague, but her grading is precise. She does reply to emails within the time frame on her syllabus, but these often do not answer question. Also a mandatory book was never used. Had to drop.

Coming from someone who got an A, I can still say this class was awful. Overwhelming amount of homework, one of the hardest classes I have taken. Consumed way too much of my life for one class. Papers are longer and harder than English. Felt overwhelmed every week. She is not good at getting back to students and gives short answers that dont help.
So I took her summer condensed course online and She lays out what is needed to be done each week with examples of how wants it done, I'm a bad test taker but her quizzes are not bad, just make sure you read. Her lectures are good and she makes the class fun! Pleasure being in her class.

Do the extra credit and you can bump your grade up by one letter. Aside from that, heaven help you on the essays and best of luck to anyone taking her class. The main focus of 101 is going to be slavery and race. Get on good terms with her immediately, it can only help. She can come off as strict but is actually a fairly standard teacher.

I would not recommend this professor or class. If you want to be stressed out all semester and can handle doing a huge workload in a short amount of time then you might like this class. There are many assignments, lectures and readings and the quizzes are difficult even if you study, it is always about the most random details from a 8 page reading.
The class was okay until the 3rd week when the midterm question showed up. Is the American identity of the democratic capable individual a myth? How does this truth/myth affect American society? This was very vague and there were not lectures or discussions to help you though she said she posted a lecture. After spending hours on this I dropped.
You will have ALOT to do every single week. So if you plan on taking this class, get ready to quit your job, and forget about everything else in life. This class was awful. You pay for a online textbook. You have a quiz every class so attendance is a MUST! Theres a midterm paper that will actually make you cry. So if you take this class Im sorry

I loved professor Mo. I wonder if all the bad reviews are mostly from men? She teaches the best Women's history class I've taken. Lectures heavy but the material is very interesting & she makes it easy to take good notes. The essays are difficult but she gives you a lot of time to turn them in. Just try & you'll be fine.
I've only had Professor Mo for four days. I don't usually pass judgement so quickly, however, I have received nearly non-stop emails (that aren't useful to me) and it's only week one. I am particularly annoyed that she is trying to dictate exactly when I complete a quiz that isn't due for a few days. Get a life, and leave me be for two days.

I always enjoyed History, so this was one of the last classes at MJC that I hadn't taken. It was a huge mistake. It was a women's history class which shouldn't matter your gender, but it was. Because I am a male, I didn't have a chance in this class. No matter how hard I worked my discussions and writing assignments were slammed.
I don't understand how she grades. I recieved C's on both the midterm and the final, but I was not given any feedback on what I did wrong. There is a bunch of quizzes and a lot of information so make sure you don't fall behind.
Way too many emails. Very confusing on giving instruction. Need to print a lot of material out and we have two text books on top of that. I can already tell she is biased. Already annoyed. Going to try my best to stick it out.

I work a full time job, and this class sucks all of the free time I have on the weekends away. There is way too much to read. There is more work in this class alone than in the rest of my classes combined. Don't even get me started on the awful midterm paper... I took this class thinking it would be an easy A. Don't be like me.
I had more work in this class then all my other classes combined.. I wasn't able to understand most of the material, and the midterms were unreasonably difficult. Didn't give clear instructions either. I was stressed and overwhelmed 25/8 and I'm not usually someone who gets stressed easily.. 10/10 don't recommend!

Professor Mo is brilliant. Difficult, but brilliant. Her class requires so much hw, it feels like she thinks she is the only professor you have. Be prepared to constantly be reading and watching documentaries. Her midterms and finals are very difficult, but truly, I learned so much. I loved this class, but beware that it is a huge time commitment.
I have nothing against professor Mo personally, but she assigned a lot of work throughout the semester and waited until the very last minute to grade everything, leaving you on your toes wondering whether or not you are going to pass. The work is relatively easy, especially if you took American history in high school but the grading process sucks.
While being a strict and difficult grader, Professor Mo will give you credit for the amount of work you put in, no matter if it's actually right or wrong. Get ready for a lot of in-depth thinking and answering. I personally wouldn't want to retake this class due to its difficulty and the many readings it comes with.
I'm an A student so I didn't believe it when I was told this professor was unjustly difficult. I was SO wrong. This class has more work than my two English classes and math class COMBINED. The workload is not balanced for a simple 102 class. Unless you plan on spending months drowning in boring history lectures, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Nothing personally against Mo, I think she's a wonderful person but her class is extremely draining and difficult. I decided to take this course so I could be a full time student but had to withdraw because it was causing my anxiety to be amplified and especially during a pandemic? This course was more work than my other 3 classes combined.
So much anxiety and so much hard work. Glad I got an A. This class was a nightmare. This much work should not be handed out during a pandemic. Ridiculous and demotivating!

I had to take her history class for transfer. Although she's not a rude professor, she's nice, but I found her teaching style to be too much for what it was supposed to be. You have to pay for an online textbook, she makes you read too much. There is also this midterm paper that is too difficult that caused my anxiety to skyrocket than my grade.
The quizzes were ridiculous. Like some of the questions, I'm not even sure where they came from because they weren't in the lectures. She's also a late grader, so I didn't know where I stood in the class. I felt discouraged half way through the class and kind of gave up. I usually love history classes but I dreaded this one every week.
I originally chose the course with another professor, but she was unable to teach it and Prof. Mo took over. Be ready to devote an insane amount of your time to her class. She is a tough grader and I feel like nothing is ever perfect for her so you usually won't get full points. I will say though, she does seem to care a lot about the subject.
Do not, for the love of God, do not take her class if you care for your own sanity! She leaves so many readings, tests, and discussions. Her discussion questions are difficult to understand and do. Work overload and she isn't very helpful. She'll literally have you running around like a headless chicken trying to pass her class. Goodluck.

The midterm is impossible and even if you are an A average student, you will probably fail because professor Mo is a tough grader. Save your time and money and take a different course.
I would absolutely 100% take professor Mo's class again. Several times over. I was expecting a challenge and was disappointed. Don't listen to the naysayers people! The midterms are easy and the final is even easier! Do take the summer course if you REALLY want a fun filled summer. Have fun y'all!
Mo is the absolute worse. She constantly emailed me about an assignment I missed. ONE out of many, I have a disability and continues to push.
Her tests are very hard. She gives a lot of work for a 3 unit class. Very tough grader. Midterm was research paper and kids book. Given 1 week to do it and had to turn it in to nettutor, get feedback, and make corrections before due date. Only take her if you don't have any other classes.
This is my second time taking her. One of my favorite teachers. Yes there is a lot of reading, that is the only thing I agree on. You will learn so much from her. I am stunned there is so much negative reviews. I went through a personal crisis during her class and she really supported me. This is college, and she will challenge you. She is a gem.

I learned so much on my own, she was just forcing it, and so so much. Also, Mo can be somewhat rude in announcements or emails. Not a fan of that either. 0/10
Eva asks alot of you. I am currently enrolled in her course and I am constantly getting frustrated with the amount of work placed upon regular students in a 102 class. The Midterm especially, a giant paper about local history, be ready to dedicate hours and hours to digging through archives trying to find the tiny amount of info available.
Professor Mo's my favorite Professor. She's passionate about history & very encouraging--she's accommodating too, once you communicate. Class is straight-forward if you do the reading & take notes. I loved her class, but it's for those wanting to learn & craving a challenge; if you're too busy & expect an easy A, this class isn't for you -Fall 2021
I rated Eva a couple months ago and was very negative. I think my judgement was being cloudy by the extremely hard midterm, which I still think was way too hard. Besides those extremely high stress midterms, this class is a breeze, and I love being able to write my opinions every week. Class is fine, but that midterm physically hurts.
As a history major, the class was very interesting, but the workload is unacceptable. Feels like 2+ classes combined. I loved the class for the material but the homework is complicated and tests are hard. She is very flexible and allows late work (2+ weeks), but even then it was hard to keep up. If you can avoid the class, I would.
Eva Mo was a great professor, I really enjoyed her class and she was always understanding when I couldn't turn an assignment in due to migraines or something. However, there is a LOT of homework involved with this class and so MUCH reading. But with that aside, her online lectures were still fun because you could hear how much she enjoyed teaching.
DO NOT TAKE HER! Find another professor! Her class is extremely difficult. One of the hardest classes/worst professor I have taken at MJC. The weekly workload is extremely heavy and her midterms will make you cry. Save yourself the time and stress and find a better professor.
One of the most interesting classes I've ever taken and she is lenient on late policies but the workload is outrageous. I'm a history major so I can take on lots of reading and writing, but even this class is extensive. That's why I would give Professor Mo a 4 instead of a 5. I would only recommend this class to someone who is willing to work.
She assigns too much work for a 3 unit course.
Insane amount of work for a 3 unit class especially for a non-history major. This class got so bad I considered dropping out entirely, but I didn't lol. There is also homework on a completely different site that we are never reminded of.
She's nice and the material she taught was interesting but she made me dread it. Hundreds of pages to read weekly and multiple lectures that coincided with 400 word discussion posts and quizzes. The two midterms and the final assigned were brutal as well and required you to use excessive amounts of background sources. Too much for only 3 units.
HER REVIEWS DO NOT DO HER JUSTICE! Perfectly reasonable amount of work, it's a college class- college level work should be expected! Very caring and understanding woman, gave very clear and easy to follow lectures, and used one of the most interesting textbooks that I've used so far. Reviews had me terrified to take her class but I'm so glad I did!
Had her in Summer of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. This did not change her grading leniency or amount of assignments one bit. Very intelligent teacher, but not a good instructor in regard to understanding their students during such a daunting time in life. Glad I did not take a full semester with her. Tough grader with too much work.
Professor Mo is one of the nicest teachers I've had in a while. She is a College History Professor so of course her class won't be the easiest but it doesn't change the fact that she genuinely cares about students & puts time into her lectures. If you want to learn take her class but if you take it just to get an A it won't happen.
So... I LOVE Professor Mo but she is not for the faint of heart. To get a good grade in this class you need to want to learn it and want to put in the time. She definitely assigns wayyyyy too much work for a 3 unit undergrad class but I didn't mind because I'm crazy about women's history. She is super understanding though and will work with you.
Please do not take this course, do not make the same mistakes I did by being interested in the concept.
She doesn't grade at all, She's a good person. Not a good Professor, she has not graded anything since September, leaving me with the assumption that I will be failing the class. Currently don't even know my actual grade in the class, but again DO NOT TAKE HER. She WONT GRADE ANYTHING.
This was the worst class I have ever taken. She did not grade any assignments all semester until the very end. She assigns way too much and her directions for papers are complex and often confusing or contradictory. Absolutely would not recommend.

Many lectures have built in quizzes so you have to listen to extremely lengthy lectures weekly. Mid term and final are essays that are not objectively graded, ambiguity regarding grading. Tons of homework. This is actually the most poorly structured class I've ever taken. Don't take this class unless you have zero other options.
After seeing we had to purchase Carol Andersons "White Rage" and then taking a look at the first few weeks modules, the class just looks like a love letter to social justice. I dropped it almost immediately. College will always find a way to shove politics down your throat. First impressions, the class sums up the past 125 years to just racism.
Pretty good teacher. You can tell by how she teaches that she really cares about the subject which makes it that much more interesting. She always helps whenever people have questions and even game extensions on midterms and finals. Midterms and final is a lot of work though and there is a lot of work in general, which I'd say is the only downside.
She's a very tough teacher to have. She is clearly very passionate about history, she assigns a TON of work. I only took her to push myself. Would not take if you want a fun class
This professor is clearly passionate about history, but forgets the passion isn't always shared. She gives a very heavy workload with a lot of expectations or rules surrounding it and her instructions can be hard to follow. She doesn't keep up with grading, so don't expect feedback until the very end of the semester.
Professor Mo's class is no walk in the park, but if you're up for the challenge, it's worth it. The workload is intense, but the material is fascinating. Unstuckstudy AI helped me stay on top of things. Not for the faint of heart, but a rewarding experience.
This class is Professor Mo's way or the highway. I got feedback on the final essay that 'this was a History essay, not an English essay,' despite following her exact directions. I never knew what guidelines should and shouldn't be followed.
Worst teacher I have ever had. She does not grade things on time (Will wait over a month) will set up instructions that are confusing which she changes her mind on what she is looking for or wants. HUGE amount of homework and lectures. Tough grader (Which when she gives no feedback for over a month on things so you can try to fix it)
She would take very long to grade and respond back to students. And changes her mind on her rubric grading for assignments and papers. Feedback was "I know it's hard to read people's critiques of your writing", "think this paper deserves more points but deducted points", and "good news is that this grade did not kill your overall average to pass".
Not only is she very hard on grading, but she changes the requirements as she grades them, which is easily a month after the assignment is due. So much work and a ton of reading, if you need an online course because you're short on time, don't take this one. It seems this class is aimed at punishing you for taking an online course. DO NOT TAKE IT!
Not a bad person, just very passionate about history. Seems like she enjoys history so much that she gives us lots of homework and lots of papers to write because she likes to read them to see our point of view. Wouldn't take again just because of the workload.
I would not recommend this instructor for individuals with learning disabilities. While she is a good person, her classes are challenging and include numerous assignments that may not contribute to the final grade. Additionally, she is strict regarding AI and plagiarism, and grading can be delayed. She will stress you out.
This class itself really killed what was left of my mental health and sanity, from the stress and anxiety it's caused me. Right when i think I did the assignment right, turns out that I didn't, or that I did some things wrong and that my English wasn't very good. Eva Mo makes the assignment itself sound harder than it should.
Professor Mo has a lot of hard essays and is very particular about everything. If its not done exactly how she wants it then expect a bad grade. I am almost failing because of this.
Grading delays, possibly close to the final exam.100% memorization needed to do well, lectures are not organized and clear. heavily citation in every individual writing assignment. Final Exam: The final is an online writing test. You need to memorize all the course content to do well. You need to have unlimited time to do well in this class!!!

Not only does she take a long time to grade things. She wants her finals to be a certain way and if you don't do them her way you will fail. I just got my finals and it was pretty difficult and just when I think she could at least give me a better grade. I get a straight F. Her classes are difficult and most lectures are long videos.
I have assignments that go back all the way to October that she hasn't graded. It's pretty frustrating because I already finished everything and my finals. Also it's very difficult to do everything the way she wants it to be in her assignments. She's asking for way too much information for a simple question. Midterms are chaos.
All I'm going to say about her is she's scary and made me cry
There is zero quality with this class. She takes forever to grade, Changes her Rubic, I have yet to actually see her have anything positive to say. This teacher has made me not want to continue college. Doesnt make it fun, worthwhile, changes her mind, this class/teacher is a mess. Stay away
She was a very tough grader. She wouldn't help me if I emailed her asking questions, and it seemed she didn't care about her students. I wouldn't take this class ever again, and if you are taking her class, I wish you the best of luck.
Professor Eva Mo has great enthusiasm and motivational energy in her courses. What I love about her teaching as a professor is how she's not afraid to express and speak up on relevant topics in class. If you're lost or drawn in from personal reservations, she's incredibly patient, understanding, and If you're lost or stuck she'll gladly help
Passionate about history but is a horrible teacher. About 6 lectures a week cluttered with ums, and uhs, gets lost talking in the lectures even though they are recorded. Tests for every lecture, another 3-5 test that go with another set of reading in addition to weekly discussions. Disorganized, a lot of work, extremely hard grading, wont listen
Very passionate about her topic, but needs to remember not everyone is passionate about history. Get ready to read, you have lectures, textbooks, and books. She truly did care about me passing this class and allowed me to redo both midterms. My grade went from an F to a high C. Does not hurt to ask to redo an assignment. Good luck!
All I am going to say is the instructions for the midterm was 7 pages long. SEVEN PAGES!!! Never been more stressed out about a class and I consider myself a good student. Avoid the unnecessary stress and pick another professor.

Do not recommend this teacher I was lost 90% of the time she is so confusing adds so much extra stuff to the lecture that is not needed, is all over the place when it comes to modules. Just trust me don't take her
Currently enrolled in her class & it's been a nightmare to say the least. She never gives full credit on assignments, super nit picky &assignments have to be exactly how she asks otherwise your grade suffers. Her Midterms gave me so much anxiety& stress. This is the first & only class I've taken at MJC that actually has drained the life out of me.

Super difficult grader. When I asked this professor for feedback, she replied to me in a very condescending matter. I wish I would've looked at the reviews before I took this class. I hate that for midterm and finals she springs topics on you, which lowkey sets you up to fail. Overall teacher just gives rude vibes/ is super difficult.
Okay. I do not dislike Professor Mo at all, she is engaging and passionate about the subject she teaches which I'd take over a boring prof any day and I learned a lot. However, there were so many assignments, instructions were often unclear, and the midterms and final made me want to rip my hair out. Tread lightly if you're up for the challenge.

Professor mo is really a great professor. But there is a lot of homework and you've to be very careful and thoughtful while doing that. You need to put an effort in order to succeed. She cares about her students a lot. But yes you've to prepare yourself for this class, otherwise this is going to be really tough class, I swear.
If you plan on attending a four-year university after MJC, Prof. Mo will help prepare you to be a student who can succeed. She is passionate and will provide support to students who show they care and reach out. Her classes will make you a better student if you are not deterred by a challenge. Would recommend!
This teacher most definitely will give you some type of favoritism if you fit her criteria, but if not you will most likely be having difficulties.
There are many different assigned readings outside of the textbook and lots of lectures. Most of the time, I don't even know what I should be taking notes on, and she hasn't been very helpful when I've tried to ask questions for help or clarification. Also, if you don't pass the Midterm and the Final, you will fail the whole class.
I genuinely would not recommend this class to my worst enemy, this class will stress you out so much it's not worth taking for the general credits that most likely don't even apply to your degree. Her grading is so strict and don't even get me started on the midterm and final.. overall do NOT recommend. Just wait the waitlist for another professor.
She's extremely condescending and her instructions and outlines make little sense. She opens the class with a questionnaire about you, and what you struggle with, yet there is little support or guidance unless you focus ALL your time and effort on her class, which is impossible if you are full time. She's inconsistent, and grades very harsh. 0/10
I am currently attending Professor Mo's classes still and actually just took my midterms and I'm going to honest. I don't like her as a teacher. I have been feeling constant anxiety and burnout the entire time I've been in this class. She has rarely helped or guided me. Her instructions constantly confuse me, and she's rude. Wouldn't recommend.
I don't recommend this class unless you can focus a lot of attention on it. Lectures are hard to follow and her lisp makes her hard to listen to at times. Her class is disorganized, there's a lot of homework and studying, and she's very picky with her grading. The midterm was stressing me out, and I had to drop this class, along with many others.
Professor Mo does challenge you to know the subject well. Her combined lectures, videos, text readings were in-depth and the work required you to KNOW the information. Although it was one of the most difficult classes I have taken, it was a valuable class that I will always remember the information and the history of women!
Learning about woman History is actually really interesting but I wouldn't recommend this course because of the heavy work load and midterm.The midterm require you to uses footnotes which are the worse because of how small the words are and the fact you have fill the full page full of footnotes. Also the professor isn't very caring toward students
She is just awful. I have had so much anxiety being in her class that I'm almost always scared to open a notification from this class. She takes so long to grade things that we are still waiting for assignments from October to be graded. One of the harshest graders I have ever met, and does not care for you or your grade at all.

Absurd amount of lecture videos per week, tons of reading (books and in-between lecture videos which are mandatory) and on top of that, you have to buy access to a separate website with 3-4 readings and quizzes each per week. ~30% of the class dropped before the midterm and ~80% before the final exam. Do NOT take the class if you have a job or etc.
Be prepared to read for up to 10 hours a day. The readings are scattered.
