I had this professor for statistics, and she was great. She obviously knew the content very well, and taught in a clear and organized manner. She made stats easier to learn by using real life scenarios to teach the math. I found attendance was not mandatory if you can learn the material out of the book on your own time. Very good professor!

Wonderful professor! I loved how she used everyday examples for every term and theory which made it very easy to remember and understand. Answers all questions. Really knows her stuff and post power points on blackboard so you can print them out and bring them to class. Highly recommended professor!

Szeli is an excellent teacher, she is great at explaining all of the material. I had never taken a stats class before but I got an A+ by going to class, studying, and doing the homework. Your grade is made up of your score on three test, worth 25% each, and 25% homework (which is usually due weekly).

She's great! She explains everything very well, and she does her best to relate to her students.

Szeli is really good at explaining the material in class. She's really enthusiastic which helps you remember the material better come test time. Make sure you read the book and do the study guides she provides online and you'll do fine. There's one makeup test at the end of the year that will replace whatever grade you pick whether lower or higher.

An interesting class, but really hard! Make sure you attend all classes, because attendenance can help you in the end. And attend the S.I. sessions.

This class is super interesting and I would definitly reccomend her to others! Her class is all test based so no busy work or homework. Easyto get an A you just have to come to almost every class and always read the book and her powerpoints. Usually the kids that complain about this class are the ones that dont want to actually put in the work.

She's a great teacher! I failed my first psychology class that I took last semester,but I know Ill pass this one just because of Ms. Szeli. She explains everything in a clear, orderly manner and makes sure that you understand it.She has 12 online assessments every week instead of 3 stressful exams! The class consists of 12 online quizzes that are given weekly worth 25 pts each. Attendance in class isn't necessary at all. The quizzes are over modules in the book and are pretty easy with some preparation beforehand. If you have to take psych 101 I would definitely recommend professor Szeli over the others at ASU

She is a great teacher. She is easy to understand and interesting to listen to. You do not have to go to class but if you want to understand the material and get an A on the online test, GO! Online tests are so easy, you just have to read the book before. No final is a huge plus!

Really easy class. She is a cool teacher and her lectures aren't boring. All of the quizzes are based off of her lectures and powerpoints. Lectures are posted on blackboard. Easy A and gets you a lot of background in psychology. Highly recommended.

TAKE THIS CLASS! It's very predictable. Listen to the lecture, take notes on her power point slides (which are provided in blackboard), read the chapters in the book, take one online quiz a week. No papers, no tests, no final. She keeps your attention and is very clear on her explanations. Easy B for sure, A with minimal effort.

Szeli is amazing! I would recommend her to anyone. She may be kind of intimidating at first, but if you go to office hours she is incredibly helpful. I also took PGS 101 with her and plan to take PSY 290 with her as well. She is an INCREDIBLE lecturer. Very good at taking a boring class like statistics and connecting it to the real world.

Shes a pretty upfront teacher, listen to her lectures and/or read the book and you'll do great. The tests focus mainly on the desriptions and examples in the book so you could read that and pass the class easy.Weekly test, no final, Lowest test dropped. No homework. This class is an easy A.

Szeli's very nice and funny, but she offers absolutely nothing new to her lectures. They're taken straight out of the textbook, and that's all the quizzes are on. It makes me sad that you can get an easy A without ever going to class or even meeting the professor. There's NO difference between going to class and reading the book.

Class consists of 13 online quizzes (approx. 1 a week). She drops the lowest one. Each quiz is 20 questions and you are given 30 minutes to take it. Her lectures can either be extremly boring or very interesting. Attendence isn't mandatory.

Pretty straightforward professor. Just go to class, listen, and study for the exams. Material can be a bit tricky at times so you have to understand the concepts, and not just memorize numbers and facts. Freda Liu is also a great teacher as well. Best teacher you can take this class from, so take it from her!

One online quiz every week for the entire semester, thats it. No final, nothing. Like everyone said, questions are almost 100% from the textbook (which is actually very interesting). I stopped going the second week of class and ended up with an A.

Dr. Szeli is amazing. Very knowledgeable and definitely cares about her students. Took psych and law with her during summer session. No text book, but normal quantity of online reading. 9 Short answer quizzes, 4 assignments, & participation via chat room. Easy A, and FANTASTIC professor. I would definitely take another class with her!

Fun class & very interesting. Class time goes by fast. One test per week and that's it. No finals. Highly recommend this teacher. She seems intimidating at first but she's actually nice and also kinda goofy when you talk to her. Attendance is not mandatory but I loved going to this class anyway.

The semester just started, and I only had her for two days, but so far Szeli is great. She's energetic and really funny. Her lectures shouldn't be called lecture, they're really lax and she tells a lot of stories and jokes that are actually funny. There are readings from the textbook and lecture is a reinforcement of what was in the book and more.

Class meets too early in the morning but it's a fun class so worth getting up for. Lots of interesting real life examples. Dr Szeli is funny and entertaining and she really seems to like teaching. Grading is a bit weird but it's not hard to keep up with reading, online tests, journal entries and written assignments.

Take Dr. Szeli guys!! She's great, really good at explaining and NO FINAL IN THIS CLASS!!! No complaints about her and she's really down to earth

I had Dr. Szeli for Psych 101 my freshman year too and chose her on purpose for 290 because she is a fair teacher and I actually retain information from her class. The grades are based heavily on exams, no busy work for filler points so make them count!

Her lectures are fun and entertaining although i do not think they're worth attending since the quizes are all based from the book. I used to attend class at the beginning of the sememster and i did not score as high as i wanted to on the quizes. Then i started skipping class and reading the modules and i have gotten an A on every single quiz.

If you want to learn alot from a professor who is very knowledgable, take Szeli's class. If you want to be lazy and don't care about learning, then take a class with Christa Lynch. Szeli is not an easy A like Lynch because she makes the material interesting so that you EARN the A on your own.

Attendance is not mandatory but if I could stress anything it is attending the class and paying attention to the lecture. She will randomly put lecture material into the online tests that is not included in the book. Read the chapters and be prepared to skim through book when taking online tests.

Even though class isn't mandatory it is very beneficial to go. Every week there is an online test of the material covered in class. Those quizzes are the only points for the class. They aren't too hard but be ready to invest some time in reading the book diligently and take good notes during class.

INTRO TO STATS: She was VERY clear about what was expected of us. Her class is slightly difficult but her homework and lectures really prepare you for the tests and make them not so bad. A fair grader and attendance is not mandatory. I missed several days and did fine because she repeats concepts at the start of each class. TAKE HER!

Dr. Szeli is awesome! Research methods is by no means an interesting subject, but she makes it as enjoyable as possible. She is also very helpful outside of class and tries to help as much as she can.

I went to one class and got an A+ in the class. If you are good at remembering information after reading it, this class will be cake. The lectures are informative and make the tests a little easier (so I hear). Take for PGS101!

Excellent Teacher! PSY 290 is kind of dry, but Szeli helps to make it interesting! Hopefully you get assigned a good lab instructor, because I certainly did not.

Fantastic professor, especially for what could easily be a boring class with anyone else. She uses her own book which is significantly shorter and easier to digest than most. Weekly quizzes (Lockdown Browser), no final, and all are non-cumulative. Highly recommend going to lectures... they're funny and cover quiz material that isn't in the book.

I did great in this class. From talking to friends I hear it is much easier than most Psych101. However you will have to work to get a high grade. Go to every lecture and read the book sections before taking the quiz. I tried to get away with not reading the book and didn't do so well on first few quizzes. Put in the time and you'll do fine.

Love this prof!! I took her for PSY 230 & 290 and she is able to make the most boring classes ever at least somewhat interesting. Good lectures that really explain all the concepts she wants to test on. Totally recommend any class with her.

Gosh I love her. She is so hilarious. I wasn't very interested in psychology, but she made it soooooo interesting. I actually didn't mind going to class sometimes. You take an online quiz every week but they are really easy if you read the textbook that isn't very long. If you like your grade from all the quizzes no final!

Dr. Szeli is AMAZING! She is the only PGS101 prof I would reccommend. The online quizzes, although open book open note, can be very tricky! I avergae a B on them and I study/read. I'm sure if you go to the extra study sessions you would do better.

Highly recommended. Do the reading and go to the lectures because the combination of the two solidifies the knowledge you need to know (and if you're a psych major, you need to know this stuff. Trust me...I'm a junior psych major). As far as homework and lab goes, just hope you get a good TA, because that's who you'll be dealing with primarily.

Dr. Szeli's teaching style is great. Her classes are a pleasure. Her grading system is the best one i have come across in all of my many years of college. I truly enjoyed her lectures. I would recommend her to everyone.

This class is relatively easy. There's only online tests, which is nice. However, some questions on the test are completely random even if you go to lectures and read the book (only a few though). Sometimes she speed talks too. If you read the book and go to lectures, you'll do good. She is nice. I'd recommend this class.

Dr. Szeli is FANTASTIC! She makes her expectations very clear, no papers to write, if you go to class and read the book her tests are very EASY! No cumulative midterm or final. Her lectures are actually interesting making attending class not so bad. She communicates very well and is extremely helpful.

Should have gotten an A in this class but I got an A-. Go to class and read the book - both material is on the weekly tests. Weekly tests are the only contribution to your grade- I wish there would have been homework assignments or something. This class is very possibly an easy A class if you study, know the material. Going to SI sessions helps.

Pretty dry class content-wise but she tries to make it interesting with well-delivered lectures. Tests can be somewhat difficult, but she curves. Just read the book and pay decent attention to your lectures and review before exams. Labs can be tad frustrating, be ready to work with your TA one on one a decent amount.

This class was interesting. And Prof Szeli makes an effort to keep it interesting. She uses lots of different methods to teach and wasn't just focused on text reading. I would recommend this class to anyone who is willing to put in the effort.

Took this class online. This teacher loves the sound of her own voice. The lectures are so long and boring and drawn out and hard to pay attention too. She posts video updates too which are long and unnecessary. Class is harder than a 101 should be, but not unmanageable.

Hard class to take online. If you have the choice take it in person. I usually sit in on my friend's psych 101 class to try and understand the lessons. Very Important to read the book, don't think I could have passed without it! Interesting teacher, but quizzes are hard, you really need to study to get an A!

She's an awesome teacher, she is very clear on both content and how the course is graded. comes with a lab and half the grade come from lab, and other half based on 3 50 multiple choice exams. also gives opportunity to make up an exam and attendance is not necessary!:) reccomend her.

Overall good teacher. Lecture is interesting and is definitely a must to do good on tests! Make sure to read the book before tests and you should be able to get by with a good grade

I enjoyed the class once I understood the material. The lecture notes are all online but I suggest going to class to hear her give examples and talk about the notes. There are 3 tests. I highly recommend her for this class because she is really enthusiastic about research methods and statistics.

An excellent teacher, she was really funny and relaxed, she expected that all of the students would keep up on their work and the workload was pretty reasonable. I feel like it was really easy to learn the material by reading and attending class. She made the assignments fun so it didn't feel like work.

I really enjoyed this class, it wasn't very in-depth but its a 101 class so it doesn't need to be. It really made me interested in learning more about psychology something i didn't have much interest in previously. Szeli is awesome and you can tell she sincerely enjoys teaching. laid-back low-stress class. take it

The online class pretty easy, not sure what people are complaining about. Its one of the easiest classes I've taken at ASU. if you put in the least bit of effort you should do fine. You're in college now, not high school, no one is going to hold your hand and walk you through it.

I took the online portion. If you want an "easy" A do not take this. Overall, I thought it was easy. She posts weekly lectures and posts the lessons that are covered in her tests. Online tests aren't too bad- There are 13(one per week). As long as you put a little effort into watching the lectures/ reading the book, you should be fine.

Szeli is awesome! I honestly thought this class was going to be dreadful just because of the material. She actually makes it fun and she has a good sense of humor as well. I had a great TA also and Lab is 50% of your grade. Take her class!

I was terrified to take a Stats class, but I did very well in this one! Szeli is an excellent teacher & keeps your interest the whole class. The content was highly conceptual. She was helpful in office hours. The textbook is outrageously pricey, but I heard shes going with a different publisher next semester. Study a lot and don't ever miss class!

Online. Was a little upset with the fact that our book was not published until the class was practically over. The online lectures are a bit slow and unexciting but TAKE NOTES - they help on the quizzes. She was a very helpful professor but I wish she gave us a bit more leave way with the fact that we had NO book practically the whole semester.

She explains concepts very well but research methods is a very boring topics to it is hard to stay awake. I didn't the book at all and attended all her lectures while taking good notes and I received A's on all exams. The hard part is staying awake, esp. if you take this early in the morning!

This is a really dry class, and it was really hard to stay awake. Dr. Szeli is an interesting lady and seems like she enjoys and knows a lot about what she lectures about, but it is just dry. Tests are kind of hard, make sure you study!

Her class is incredibly simple if you just read the text and take great notes. She has a test based on sections of the text weekly and is very clear with her instructions and method of teaching. Consistent reminders! If you need to take PSY 101, I suggest you take it online with Szeli. You won't regret it!

This class is super boring but a requirement. She is energetic which helps keep you involved in the lectures and she does the best she can with such a dry topic. Also pretty funny.

Dr. Szeli keeps you on your toes online. Everything is very fair and clear, but be prepared to be working on this class consistently throughout the week (listening to lecture, reading the chapter, doing the essays etc.). I would recommend this class if you aren't extremely interested in personality psych and need to get it done quickly.

Teacher and TAs are very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The online book is easy to use along with the video addins by the teacher. Research points are easy to get by doing some online surveys and going to campus a couple of times.

TAKE THIS ONLINE CLASS YOU'LL NOT REGRET!!

Dr. Szeli is very clear, concise, and she explains everything wonderfully. Just because this is an online class, doesn't mean it's super easy. It is still hard, but it's way better than going to a lecture. Basically just do the reading and take good notes and you should be fine. OH! And watch the videos she inserts into the online textbook.

This is a great psych course and professor to take online. She holds you by the hand and makes sure you're equipped for her course. There was 13 weekly multiple choice quizzes and you can retake one and she drops the lowest. You must also do 6 research credits (easy). My one complaint is that some over her quiz questions were ambiguous. Thumbs up!

Dr. Szeli is one of the best professors I have ever had. I liked her so much in PSY 230 that I took her for PSY 290 as well, and I hope to be in her classes in the future. She is SUPER helpful and a brilliant woman. As long as you go to class and put in the effort you will succeed.

I took this class online. There are 13 tests. At the end of the semester, only 12 are counted for a grade and you can retake the lowest test. The tests are ambiguous and you don't get to see what you got wrong. That was why I regretted this class. I studied hard and did all the reading, but the tests aren't clear; I got a B+ average each test.

I usually get A's. Took this online. 13 online tests. Read the assigned reading and take notes. Notes are "allowed" for the test. Copy and paste notes into a word document and ctrl+f on a diff computer during the test (bcz of lockdown browser). Read 1 hr each wk and get 22-25 out of 25 right each week. I read right before the test, usually 1 hr.

She is really great! The class is well organized. You pretty much read (a pretty cool) interactive e-book and then take the test. The questions can be slightly challenging but it's managable. She also sends occasional update videos and really shows that she cares about the class. Manages to make an online class personable.

Ive taken many classes from Eva, she's great. This class is tough though. you have one test EVERY week, and you need to READ READ READ READ like crazy, which is the part I do not care for.. but its a 400 level class, participation and discussion grades are the biggest part, journals, blogs, and tests. overall, its a good class.

I took PSY 101 online with Szeli. There was very little contact. But if you need to email her she will email you back. She gives you a heads up every week on blackboard of what is to be done that week. All the class consists of is reading the textbook (if you choose to) which is all online and then taking a timed test online.

Take her online class. It requires absolutely no work at all and its very interesting. She does a good job of making sure you know everything that is going on so you don't fall behind which can happen with an online class. Take this class if you can

Super interesting class, really applicable for everyday life. Some requirements for class are a bit unclear so make sure you know what is expected of you. You have to do a lot of reading but it is all pretty interesting stuff. She also gives feedback on all journals and blogs which is cool

Look, PSY 290 is a boring class just except that. But she tries to make it interesting and engage her class. The grade is split 5050 between lecture and lab which is nice. Lecture consists of only 3 tests with 1 makeup test available if needed. Lab is pretty much one semester long project but it's easy.

She's very clear about why what she's teaching is important, and on top of that, she actually makes pretty dry material interesting. I got an A on the first test without buying the textbook. Make sure that you go to class! Her lectures are important.

I'm so happy I took this class with Szeli. She is amazing and made me actually want to go to class. She gave great extra credit. She curves the test scores. I was extremely happy with this class and I would take it again in a heartbeat.

Her online PSY 101 class is my favorite and inspired me to change to a psychology major. If you read the modules given online and take notes, then you will get an A or B. She emails weekly and will provide notes or videos n the text for extra help. She is helpful, cares for her students, and organizes a very good online course.

She is extremely helpful and understanding. She responds fast and will help you out with anything. There is weekly homework and online tests. The tests are open note but can still be somewhat challenging to find all the answers as you cover quite a lot of information every week.

Dr. Szeli's online class is not an easy grade. You have to do a lot of weekly reading and tests, but if you do it, it isn't very hard to score well. Even though you don't ever meet her, she emails you updates regularly and makes herself available to help. She even got us all partial refunds from the online textbook when they had rough service.

Professor Szeli was great online instructor. She assigned 3-4 chapters to read which were very interesting! Then, you complete chapter assignments w/ Review Exercises and Exam Practices on MindTap which were fair work. Exams are weekly based on the chapters you read. It is open-book. Straightforward questions! STUDY & you will receive an A!!

NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. All tests are audio/video/lockdown browser recorded. Ridiculously time consuming. Awfully short test taking windows. At least 8-10hrs spent on hw/prep per week. So much is expected for what should be a fun interesting class. READING IS ALL YOU DO

Had to retake this class since I didn't try at all the first time I took it. If you just sit down and copy the bolded terms and take the chapter quizzes the exams are super easy. Exams are open book open note (printed copies only). She is good at getting back to you if you have any problems. I spend about 2 hours every week on this class.

Research methods is not the most exciting psychology course; however, Dr. Szeli makes it bearable. She makes clear what she expects from you, but at the same time can be laid back and funny. The tests are all very easy as long as you either read the textbook or show up to lecture.

Best class I've ever taken. You have a test every Thursday, but they're online and open book. One final paper about law in a movie. She is a great lecturer, I never got bored during class. She does offer EC sometimes. Very relaxed class. 10/10.

Research Methods is not the most interesting class, but Dr. Szeli made it so! She has at least one funny story for every topic we discuss, and the examples make studying for exams easier. Studying with the slides and online note can be helpful, but attending class is much beneficial since the test questions are mostly based on her lecture.

Szeli makes an incredibly dull subject like Research Methods fun and interesting. She replies to emails quickly and clearly cares about her students' academic success. I've never had a professor as invested in her students as she is. She's such gem. I'd definitely recommend her!!

I took her last semester for Psych and Law and took her again for Interpersonal Influence this semester. She is an amazing instructor and I find myself being excited to attend her lectures. She encourages participation but it can be online or in class if you are shy. Read and you will succeed. Easuly the best teacher I've had at ASU.

Never met or even spoke to Dr Szeli, however from her class-wide emails she seems like she really cares about us students and would let us know how well we were doing as a class. Also, she drops the lowest exam score and even offers a makeup exam. Easy online class, completely self directed, even the tests are graded by the computer.

She always kept us in the loop and constantly reminded us of the various things that needed to get done for the class. She was extremely helpful to begin with, so I didn't even have to go to her with questions.

Szeli makes a boring subject, like research methods, interesting. She is passionate about the topic and is super healpful. The exams are easy if you attend class and pay attention. The lab portion of the class is a little tougher and depends on your TA.

The homework is literally just 5 MC questions at the end of every section. The test are open notes, but I did find them to be harder than average because of it. I recommend taking very good notes. While there is very little teacher interaction, I found that she was very quick at answering emails. Good class to kill an elective credit.

Dr. Szeli was a great instructor. She posts her slides, so it's easy to go back and review. She also gives a lot of examples, which if you understand, you'll nail the exams. If you attend class and pay attention, you'll be golden. If you stay on top of your assignments (since they build on each other), lab isn't too bad.

Solid class and solid professor! She's really engaging so her lectures are more bearable- she sometimes can take awhile to get to the point which can be frustrating but it never really bothered me. She posts all her slides so you can literally teach yourself the entire class if you want

I had trouble before the class started with my access codes and she stayed in touch with me and made sure I got it all figured out. I have emailed her maybe twice in the semester and she was very helpful and made sure I got all my questions answered.

She's really passionate about what she teaches. There are 4 assignments throughout the semester and quizzes either each week or every other week (it all depends on how fast she goes through a topic). As long as you take good notes you can pass the quizzes which are taken online.

I was overall impressed by her teaching style and did well in her class. The only critique I have is that her grading criteria can be somewhat unclear. For example, the final assignment had very little instruction and it ended up being my lowest grade. There was no feedback so I was confused and disappointed, but was finished so didn't follow up.

One of my favorite professors ever. I took multiple classes with her and they were my favorite classes in my undergrad. She's very nice, super smart, and on top of that she's funny! I can't recommend her enough, she's great. (Definitely had a bit of an intellectual crush on her!)

It was a six week summer class, so it was necessary to read the chapters, since she didn't want to make 2 hour long videos. But the lectures she gave were actually very helpful and made the class interesting.

This class was amazing! There were no discussion boards which are the one annoying thing about an online class. The only thing that mattered was the quizzes on REVEL and the tests on Blackboard. The tests were recorded with a webcam but you were allowed to use all the notes you had as well as the paper copy of the textbook. Textbook was interesting

She is an awesome person! However, the class is A LOT harder than an onground psy class. It is nearly impossible to get an A+. You'd need to only miss 1 question on each test to get A+ because the tests are 25 q's and the time is 30 minutes. HW is easy points. You'd have to read 40 double sided pages each week. You'd learn a lot though.

Prof. Szeli is amazing. Her class is to the point; read the textbook take the test. I took this class online, and my wifi dropped one time during an exam. She let me retake it. I also turned something in late and she still accepted it. Her emails through blackboard are informative and encouraging.

This was one of my first classes at ASU and I loved it. Dr. Szeli's expectations are clear, she answers emails quickly, and gives you plenty of opportunities to succeed. This class includes chapter readings, answering questions, a practice quiz, and a proctored online exam every week. Read the material and take notes and you will do well.

Szeli is the single greatest professor I've ever had. She is passionate about her work and fosters an environment that gets students excited by the content. Tests/quizzes require far more than memorization-- you have to understand the content on a fundamental level, but totally possible to get an A. I HIGHLY recommend her (I've taken her twice!)

No textbook! Make sure you go to class because if not you will be so lost next time you go to class. The material is presented in an understanding way. She isn't a tough grader and curves the tests.

The class is cut up into 13 tests (1 each week) and is nice and easy to maneuver. Dr. Szeli sends out weekly emails stating what is due and when tests are open. If you try you can at minimum an A-. Just make sure you do the reading and I would advise buying the loose leaf textbook for use during the tests

Extremely easy class to take! I highly recommend Dr. Szeli. The course was smooth sailing and interesting. Beware! you do have to participate in research studies for a part of your Pysch credit or you can type 6 essays on researches (Obvi no one wants to do that.).

This class is very straightforward. You basically read 1 chapter every week and do the weekly test based on that chapter. This class is an easy A the tests are open book be sure to purchase the hard copy of the textbook it is very useful when it comes to test taking. You also have to participate in 6 credit hours of research.

There was a quiz every week that you could print off the notes. The quiz was monitored through video which was weird, but the class was an easy A.

Dr. Szeli went through the material in such depth that instead of just memorizing formulas, I really understood the concepts behind each statistical test every step of the way. She provided tons of examples and resources and was encouraging. Overall great professor. If you go to class and do the homework, you will do really well.

Dr. Szeli is an excellent professor! She's passionate about what she teaches and goes into a lot of detail. The only reason I used the textbook for her class was because I paid for it and didn't want to let it go to waste, but definitely could've passed the class without using it. I would recommend to just save the money and use her powerpoints.

Simple class if you get the physical textbook since tests are open book/notes, but they are proctored with webcam. Prof Szeli gives weekly reminders for work which is great for online class. Grading is always quick. Complete all work/quizzes, follow directions, buy the book, and you'll be set. Don't forget to set up your research studies ASAP!

The entire semester is based on multiple choice tests and online homework, meaning no discussion boards. Each week you take an (EASY!) test which is open book, open note. I normally spent about an hour each week reading/taking notes, and I did the entire semester's homework (graded on completion) in a single weekend. Easy A+ if you don't skip tests

This is the best online class I have ever taken! The assignments were due every Friday, and the tests were due Friday at 2pm. The next weeks assignments opened the week before so it was easy to work ahead. The tests are on LockDown, but you can use your paper book which costs like $15 extra. No Final!

Every student is required to complete 6 credit hours of research requirements. If you are under 18 you are not allowed to participate in studies and must complete 6 350 word article summaries. You will not earn course credit if you do not complete them. Text book is needed as tests are open book/ open notes. You have 1 chapter a week. It's not bad

Took psych 101 online as a senior elective. Class was SUPER well organized, drops an exam, and lets you replace one during finals week. Tests are webcam-proctored and they actually check (I got a couple emails moving out of camera) but you can print paper notes and use the book. If you want to take psych 101 as an upper classman this is the move.

Very easy online class. Weekly modules, a practice quiz, and an open-book test each week. MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE TEXTBOOK. No cumulative exams, not hard at all.

Research Methods doesn't ever seem to be considered "fun" but Prof Szeli was really nice and made her expectations clear. The essays were definitely a lot of work but my TA broke the paper down into sections so the workload was not bad at all. The quizzes weren't too hard and they were representative of the test, which was useful for studying.

Everything is open note, buy the textbook, do the homework (about 50 minutes a week), and use the textbook on exams. Easy A- for me but I could've achieved an A.

Her quizzes were 25 Qs really easy, tests were a bit harder but if you used the textbook to take the quizzes then the tests were pretty easy. 2 papers to write in lab, 1st one was super easy 2nd one was broken down so it wasn't too bad but it is with a group. Eva really wants you to pass and does what she can to make that happen.

Buy the book and it's an easy A. All the tests are open book, so long as you have a PHYSICAL copy of the textbook. Everything is pretty straightforward and as long as you do the reading, you should easily get an A. Not the most interactive of classes, but it's easy.

This was an easy class. There are online assignments (I finished all of them within the first 2 weeks of the semester) and an online (25 question) quiz every week on the Lockdown Browser. The 6 research credits were a little annoying though because I end up having to write the essays instead. Definitely buy the book; it will help you a lot.

This class is a lot of work, but a real easy A if you put in the work. I would do all of the homework the day of the test which made learning the material easy before the exam. Exams are weekly and recorded (online) but are open book. Honestly a super easy class, just make sure to knock out the research requirement early.

Pretty easy and straightforward, no group projects. No memorization or final, all open book tests. Not an interactive PSY class, as you almost never hear personal insight/opinions from professor or other students, but this is mainly from online format. Online course pretty much centers around online textbook.

Class is 50% lockdown browser exams and 50% multiple chapter quizzes & test. The online material is easy to understand however the exams are difficult. The exam doesn't have the same format or information as the chapter test or quizzes. Open note & if you purchase the textbook you can do open textbook. Highly recommend because exam ?'s are hard.

Complete a module every week with an easy, open-book and open-notes test at the end of the week (takes 15 min at most). Very clear on grading criteria and if you put in the effort, you can get an A+ fairly easily.

I took this online and highly recommend since you can use the textbook for exams. Homework is heavy but is good to do for the quizzes and exams. It is hard not to get an A unless you are not responsible and consistent with your work. Basically, just do what you're supposed to before the deadline and you will do great. Class is really organized.

The PSY101 iCourse was really easy. Test prep includes lecture videos by Dr. Szeli and practice quizzes. All practice material is graded on completion and the practice tests can be taken as many times as you want. The exams are taken in lockdown browser, but are open note/book. I definitely recommend the icourse if you are looking to take PSY101

I took her online and it was a very interesting and easy. Each week theres a few assignments and a practice test that you can pretty much get full credit just for doing. These assignments are worth 50% of your final grade. Then theres a weekly 25 question multiple choice exam that is open book and very straightforward and makes up the other 50%.

Professor Szeli is a very understanding teacher. I took this class online and it's super easy! We had 3-4 hw assignments, 1 practice quiz and one test every week. The assignments are very easy and can be finished in a day or 2. The tests are on lockdown browser and webcam but you can use your printed notes on the test! This was super helpful.

Dr. Szeli is very caring, and the class is super easy. What more do you want from an online class? She answered all my emails very quickly, and the test questions were found straight from the book (open note). This class is the easiest A I have gotten in college yet. Highly recommend if you are a non pyschology major. This class has due dates but is essentially self paced and a easy/relaxing class to take. Although you might not learn as much compared to the inclass ones as the psy101 inclass are extensive and rigorous, but as a non psy major, I can learn interesting facts I might use in the future

Took as a quick session B & w/ the pandemic, she was so kind & flexible w/ due dates! She might be tougher in the future on deadlines, but her kindness/understanding was awesome! Decent amount of reading, but weekly quiz and test questions were relatively easy. Only graded on Revel quizzes and weekly Canvas tests. Great class and professor!

Not extremely difficult- SUPER time consuming. There are 3-4 homework assignments every week, 1 quiz every week and 1 proctored test every week. Yes, the test is open note, but you only have 30 min to take a 25 Q test and its difficult to find answers if you didn't read the chapter. I spent 10 hr/week on homework and reading the book.

This course was my favorite this semester! Everything is open-book, which not only made it less stressful but allowed me to take the time to actually enjoy learning all of the material. The homework (which is taken through the online textbook software) allows you to re-answer questions as many times as you need and is set up in an interesting way.

This was the best online class I have ever taken. Extremely easy and so well organized. Dr. Szeli was super friendly and even though she was an online instructor she made me love her course! Definitely recommend to anyone who just needs a psych credit outside their major :)

Easiest class I have ever taken. If you do not get an A+ in this class it is 100% on you. You can do the homework and quizzes as many times as you want to get 100% on them (which is a huge portion of your grade) and the tests are open note/open book. As long as you take notes you will understand the material. Would absolutely take again

buy the book! just skim and highlight terms and you can use it during the lockdown tests. questions are not tricky at all. the rest of the quizzes and assignments were unlimited attempts and theres a lot. also, dont buy the textbook package. you can do a 2-week free trial for the quizzes and assignments and just rent the textbook.

Easy A. Just read the chapters, it is not a lot to read and actually very interesting to read. I want to say this class is "common sense" when it comes to the quizzes every week on each chapter. Got mostly As and a couple Bs on he quizzes. No exam. Drops the lowest quiz. Easy class to take.

Easy A if you just read the textbook and take notes. All tests are open note and she lets you retake one at the end of the semester. 4% points extra credit for just doing online surveys for PSY department. Really understanding if you need help; I missed an assignment and she let me retake it with no penalty. Best PSY 101 choice!

Relatively easy class, you just need to pace yourself with the textbook. I did find it interesting to read. The content is self-explanatory. As long as you do the assignments, study & understand the terms, you should be good. Took a test for each chapter, but we're allowed to have notes. You can get extra credit, 1 test dropped, and 1 test retaken.

For her online class, it's pretty simple, a few homework pieces (easy, you can miss the questions as many times as you need, as long as you eventually get them right) one quiz per week (unlimited time, open note) and one test per week (limited time, open note). You can get 4% extra credit by participating in studies.

Literally take his class, online isn't bad we've been doing it for a year now. Way better than showing up 3 times a week for a class. Just get the textbook and do the learning curves. Can use the textbook on exams, so a binder and a highlighter are your best friend in this class. TAKE HER!

All tests and quizzes are open book, so it's really on you if you don't do well in this class. Coursework was reasonable for a 100 level class, and she was really clear about expectations throughout the semester. This class is a super easy A, but was still pretty interesting and I learned a lot.

Eva had about 3-4 assignments and a 25 question test every week. It was a bit heavy at times, but I must admit, she wants her students to do well. She responds to emails SO FAST, is lenient with extensions, and has extra credit opportunity w SONA. DEFINITELY USE THE BOOK for tests - very, very important to take notes! If you do, you'll get an A!

I'm taking multiple classes with this professor and she honestly is super caring and lays out her courses very well and straightforward. There are multiple tests but she allowed notes for some exams. You NEED to know the material.

Professor Szeli's PSY101 iCourse was a breeze. You can attempt the homework as many times as possible, and tests are always open-book. 4% extra credit comes from taking psychology surveys. Tests are proctored by Respondus. No midterm, and your "final" is just the last test of the semester. A solid pick for a PSY req if you don't care about psych.

This review is gonna be guided to the class in specific since it was an iCourse. Honestly, seriously recommend this class to everyone, especially if you've taking any other psych course before. Basically have one hw and one quiz a week and that's your grade. Get the optional book they offer, all of the quiz will be in it (worth your investment).

2-3 hours of reading each week, 13 moderately difficult chapter tests open for 24 hrs at the end of the week, no midterms for final exam. Up to 4% extra credit is available through easy research participation. Text was broad to cover several topics but specific in certain areas. Taking notes is recommended and you can use them on chapter tests.

I took her PSY 101 online course. She is very clear on what you have to do to succeed. You have a chapter each week with quizzes on each section, a practice test, and a chapter test. It is all open book. Her lectures are easy to follow along with, but I just read the chapter then highlighted key points and did great.

The class I took was an iCourse. The final grade is dependent on the learning curves, practice exams, and exams for each of the modules. The research participation requirement is required to pass this class. The exam can use printed items, so it is recommended to buy the loose leaf book.

Took this as an i-course and it was still very good. Video lectures were interesting, but I would still recommend reading the book to be best prepared for the exams. Both her and all the TA's were very accessible and happy to help. If you need to take this class, take it with Doctor Szeli.

PSY101 was my favorite class this semester. I did it online. Every week you read a section of the book (get paper version you can use it on tests) and answer questions for HW. There is a test every week, you get 1 redo and 1 drop. Class is interesting, structured, and easy.

Szeli's course is laid out very well. I think it's important that you understand, this course is pretty heavy. Readings are long, some chapters are very in-depth for a introductory course. There's a reason she allows you to have open notes during exams. Quiz questions have questionable wording where two answers could technically suffice. Beware.

Professor Szeli is great! I was having network issues and was unable to take my first exam. She allowed me to retake the exam, and I had to reach out to her more than twice as the troubleshooting was not working! Read book and you'll do great. Open book on exam, really easy class!

Dr. Szeli is a great professor and incredibly knowledgeable in the fields of both psychology and law. This is my favorite class this semester as we are deep-diving into some really interesting topics. The class is a little difficult at times and the number of readings may get a little heavy, but nothing is unmanageable as it is a 400 level class.

Weekly tests were open book and open notes as long as they were printed. Weekly assignments ranged from 3 assignments to 5. There would be learning questions (score 300+ and get credit) and a practice quiz (2 attempts). Tests have 25 questions in 30 minutes in a lockdown browser with the camera on. Overall, pretty easy, and I enjoyed it.

SOO easy. Textbook homework, test once a week, and a research requirement that you work on throughout the course. The textbook is very interesting as well, it gives the information to you in a way that's understandable versus using a lot of scientific rhetoric. Great class, grade is based on weekly tests (uses Lockdown Browser and camera, but is open note). Workload is very reasonable, watching the weekly lectures is not mandatory/needed on the tests (but is very helpful). There are plenty of extra credit opportunities (lowest test score is dropped, one test can be retaken). Highly recommend.

BUY THE PHYSICAL TEXTBOOK! There were tests weekly. The class is so easy and as long as you put in the work, you will be totally fine. Dr. Szeli has a great Canvas Page and is always sending out reminders and updates weekly. It is the perfect structure of an online class of just doing the notes and taking the quizzes.

Dr.Szeli is a great professor. There is a very clear rubric with 15 quizzes and practice quizzes all worth 100pts. The paper book is essential to do well and goes along with quizzes making it fairly easy. Highlighting the key points will make testing easier. Overall, very straightforward with lots of reading. I would take it again!

Pretty average.4-5 assignments and a test per week t. The class is online but not self paced so things are locked and you can't go ahead too much. She drops the lowest test score and also offers one make up of your choice on a specific day. Tests focus on minute details so copy and paste the notes and print for the test. Open note/book tests.

There are weekly exams that aren't too hard, however it is timed and you can't go back. Make sure you write good notes or buy the textbook, you'll need it for the exams. The lowest exam is dropped and you can retake one. I learned so much from this class and the course content was very interesting. I highly recommend this prof!

Had to pay $80 to submit homework but the class was doable. Openbook tests but you only get 30 minutes to answer 25 questions.

There wasn't much interaction with Dr. Szeli since I took her online course. Still, in terms of coursework, the grading was forgiving if you were late in submitting any of the learning curve assignments but exams must be submitted on the dot if you don't want a penalty. (Submitted an exam about 2 seconds after it was due, still got the 10% penalty)

Buy the textbook and use it for the tests -> Easy A. You do a bunch of questions for homework (unlimited attempts), a practice test (2 attempts), and a real test (lockdown browser). Test opens at 2:00 PM Th, closes same time on Friday. Szeli isn't really that present, but the class is set up such that you don't need it to succeed. No final exam.

Amazing. Always kept the class updated through announcements and things to be aware of. It was an online course, but was still present, caring & clear on how the course was organized. It was an 8 week course so it was fast-paced, but still easy. 40 question quizzes (RespondusLockdown) & lets you use written notes & paper text-book. Optional final.

Read, read, read! I can imagine cheating on the homework is easy to do but I made sure to not do that. Reading the textbook is really important for success on the exams. You can use your textbook on the exams if you get your hands on a physical copy of it, you can also use your hand written (on paper) notes. She's also has a great IA staff.

One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. All you really need is the textbook because the test questions follow the book in order. I definitely would recommend it.

1-2 hours per week. Buy the paper textbook for $20, tests are in order of each chapter chronologically. 2 attempts on 15-question practice tests. Assignments take 5-15 minutes to complete all. Class is laid out incredibly well. Lockdown browser for tests, but open textbook. A+ is possible, flat A is probably the floor if you aren't an idiot.

12 chapters + online HW + chapter quizzes + 5 tests, so a lot of work but plenty of chances to do well. No EC but an optional final exam to replace the 5 test grades. Plus she posts study guide videos and notes for all the chapters. Definitely take!

I want to be her when I grow up. She is very accomplished in her academic and professional career. Lectures can be long. She is very accessible to students, understanding, personable, realistic. I didn't love the weekly quizzes we took for comprehension, but it's just her style. Papers are strict on word count maximums. Be concise.

I took this as a session B class, so it was accelerated. It was graded 50% open book quizzes and 50% lockdown browser chapter tests (you were allowed to use written notes and your print textbook). Curve for exams too! Only complaint is that the only materials were the textbook & I learn better from lectures (pre-recorded lectures for iCourses).

Overall easy class to follow. Total of 12 modules, short quiz after every module to move to the next and there were tests every 2-3 modules that were on lockdown browser. There are certain due dates on the modules but not overwhelming.

Most organized online class I have ever taken. You have to read a unit of the textbook, complete online multiple choice assignments, and take a test every week. Super straight forward with open textbook exams coming straight from the book. Disregard any comments bashing this class because they were not written by intelligent students.

All the other rating are true. This is an easy A class, but it will have homework due every week. Every week you will be assigned reading in which you'll have to review through Achieve, take a practice test, and an actual test.
