One Midterm and a Final detemines your grade throughout the semester
odds of passing are very low
Buy the answer key, quizzes are the HW, so study the answers
she is good, just do the homework
DO NOT TAKE HER. REALLY
Not easy to listen to
Use her office hours! more then willing to help. Do HW! good teacher.
not clear. quizzes and tests are hard.
do or die by 1st midterm. i bet she was hot years ago...
Tests not too hard or long, DO the homework or else
it's either you pass or fail. DO ALL HWS!
Good teacher but hard.. she sounds like Dexter from Dextor's Lab.
Warning: Don't take here and if you do get her, drop the class!!!!
Please.Dont take her!!!!
SHe not helpful..I think that she should quit teaching. does not know what to teach and how to teach. Very rude to students.
She is very helpful at helping if you ask her. She is very strict. Studying will not be enough. Basically you have to ask her or know everything well. It's either you do very well or fail. 75% of my class is failing.
Don't take her for any math class! Drop her immediately if you accidently get stuck with her when you expected a better teacher that you scheduled. Otherwise expect to fail like most of her students!! avg: (D+ - F's)
great teacher
If you do her homework assginments, and use her office hour she one of the best instructors at SJSU
lies and will tell you that the quizzes are from the homework assignments when they are not. test problems are totally different from homework problems. very hard, does not explain very clearly. about 3/4 of my class is failing
A little fast and confusing.
Warning: Drop her class
I thought Zabric was a good math teacher. She was clear in her lectures. The midterm problems were taken from the homework, basically with different values. Only bad thing was your grade came from one midterm, the final, and two quizes. No HW.
Don't take her.
"In soviet russia, the television watches YOU!"
ALl i know is that out of the 4 days a week, i only went 2 times a week. I couldnt understand one thing she said, i just read the book n did the hw that was assigned. She goes really fast and the lectures are boring. If you can, get someone else.
She has an accent, but I don't speak one bit of russian and understand her fine. She's actually pretty clear at explaining things. I don't understand why everyone says she's unclear. Good teacher.
the best! you people must be stupid to not pass her class
i really wish she would just die
I warned you not to take her class!
pretty good teacher; wants students to do well. maybe not the most charismatic speaker but makes up for it with good effort. will fail you if you do not do well!
Seemed okay at first, but after it was too late to drop we all got this feeling like "Crap, get me outta this class!" Zabric must know she's just not a very good teacher. Sloppy lectures; not enough review; hard tests. Avoid this one
Better drop her soon and early before it is too late or you will regret next semesters trying to add and add the same class with someone better. Waste of time!!!!!!!!!!
she explains, give good tests, give lots hints before test/quizes. PEOPLE FAIL in her class cuz people dont show up. inFacT people didnt even show up for her fiNAl cuz she changed date, and since people dont show up, they missed it.so whoz fault is it?
she has accent! but very helpful and understanding if you participate in class, ask questions, come to her office if confuse. Quizzes are based on HW, review of whatever lectures she gives, that'll be on the tests.
I'm halfway thru the semester, she is not as bad as these reviews make her out to be. Drops ur lowest quiz score, her quizzes are weekly and, like the tests, are directly from the hw. She's helpful, although she CAN be a little confusing at times, she will explain it to u again if have trouble.
BEST MATH PROFESSOR ON CAMPUS
Tests are easy, extra credit, and very helpful. She is by far the best math teacher that I have ever had.
She can't teach. He quizes are fairly simple as they are taking from the homework. Midterms aren't suprising. If you're good at learning material on your own, then she'd be great to take. You'll be on your own.
This professor is very helpful. She is patient and will answer any question you have without making you feel like an idiot. Her quizzes come directly from the homework and tests are variations on homework problems. She has a genuine interest in having her students learn.
She is a good teacher, and wants the students to learn and interact. Very willing to help if you ask. She is a teacher who wants to teach and wants students to learn.
This is a good teacher, Calculus at SJSU is extremely difficult, my suggestion is if you fail dont be scared to retake it but wiser if your not interested take it at JC. I took Math 30 30p, 31 and 32 and she was the best one. Do the homework and don't hesitate to ask her questions.
great teacher, uses examples to teach. willing to answer questions. extra credit on all midterms too.
Good teacher, do your homework and class is fairly easy, dont and you will struggle. Tests are hard but she grades fair. Says "yah" about 50 times per class like a bad joke. Knowing what I know now I would take her again, and just do all the homework for a better gade.
EXAMS are hard!! 1 Exam and 1 Final = Grade!!
She is a really nice teacher but her test are extremely hard if you don't know your stuff. Her accent is sometimes hard to understand. Overall she is a hard teacher if you don't keep up with your studies. Don't be lazy and you should be fine. Hard teacher she doesn't curve!
So the tests are hard, quit yer whining already! What are you in college for? She is very willing to help and cares about her students.
the course is a****load of work, bottom line; she's a good teacher though
No Comments
sometimes it was hard to understand what she was saying because of her accent . gave homework from the book but never collected it . tests weren't really hard
she is not very good at explaining stuff if you havnt taken math in a few years. basically have to go about your own figuring out the stuff. she helps you out but still the work has to be put in to pass this class. no one in the class got an A and she does not curve
She expects everybody to understand the material right off the bat. She doesn't clearly explain the material. And her lectures will put you to sleep.
Possibly the worst teach I have ever had in my entire educational life. Do not take her if possible. She explains things horribly and gets frustrated when nobody understands what she is saying. She also says "Dee" instead of "the" which can get confusing.
this teacher is very good, she is good at explaining things the first time, online homework was good.
FINITE MATH. compared to another teacher i had for finite, in which i got a D, this class was super easy and WAY more clear. She has weekly hw on mymathlab, which is easy to get an A. about 2-3 sections per week. Weekly quizzes on monday are also easy. she throws out the worst 3.
She is a great teacher. Her lesson is super easy to understand, and she also gives out extra credit too.
She is the best teacher ever. Her lesson is very easy to understand, and she also gives out extra credits too.
Very nice teacher. She is very sweet, it takes a while to get over her accent, but once you do, you can tell she really knows her stuff. She is willing to help you in every way she can. I love her. I hope I have her again.
Lectures unclear, disorganized. Uncertain about teacher's expectations on quizes and exams. Not fond of giving partial credit. Got a B+ in Calc 2 and Calc 3, but I'm worried about failing this class... would not recommend.
Did all HW online due at the end of each week(sucked). Had weekly quizes based on the HW. The software used was confusing and had long HW. In her lectures, she made a LOT of mistakes. But if you visit her in office hours, she will spend as much time needed to help you understand the material. 80% of her class ended up with a D or F
She is a good teacher, but the material can be tough. She is always in her office, and is really helpful! A good teacher, just don't skip.
She is very nice, but she made the class very difficult. The weekly quizzes are based on hw in the book that is optional, and all required hw is done online. The program is confusing and sometimes incomprehensible. She said she doesn't have the heart to fail anyone with a C-. If it wasn't for my friend's help, I wouldn't be passing. I have a 68%.
She assigns homework but does not collect it. Every week, there's either a quiz or a MATLAB project due. The projects do not take more than 30 minutes. The quizzes take about 15 minutes. She drops your 3 lowest quiz or project scores and replaces your lowest score on a midterm with your score on the final if you did better on the final.
Yeah! I got 69% on the first test. Final grade is an A-, very happy. QUIZ and HOMEWORK problems are exactly the same; it's easy to get full credit on quizzes. TESTS and FINAL will confuse you if you don't study carefully. Pay attention to her words! She gave me an A- coz she knew I'd studied for her class very hard, fair enough. Highly recommend!
Wonderful teacher! Lectures can be tricky and sometimes hard to follow. I got C's in both 30 and 31 but was able to get an A in her class.
Take her if you want to learn the material very well, as well as get a A!!!!!!!
I've never met anyone who cares about the students so much. Her lectures are CRYSTAL CLEAR so it's easy to do well in the class.
Wonderful teacher, explains everything so well. The exams are also very straight forward.
You don't have to worry about any tricks. Her tests are exactly based on what she covers in class. For someone who hasn't taken calculus before she explains everything very well.
Things can get rough but stick it out because no one can explain it better than she can.
Actually a very good teacher, just takes some time getting used to.
She's one of those rare professors that change your outlook on a subject.
Wonderful teacher I would high recommend.
Effectively speaks the language of math.
One of the best math professors i've had at SJSU!
If you are in her class for Precal, then you should consider yourself lucky. Why? 1. all the hw is online unlike other teacher that you have to write out paper. 2. She is nice, friendly and etc. anything positive. 3. Some students afraid of her mt and final exam, BUT remember she gives credit for the works even though u didn't get the rite ans A+
All the homework was online, which can be helpful to some, but not for me. I found going to her class completely pointless because the homework she assigned online re-taught everything she went over in class. Her notes were messy and hard to understand and she went way too fast for me to grasp the info. She was nice and approachable for help.
Zabric's class is very easy if you've taken precal before in high school. Some of her midterms are ridiculous because the practice tests that she gives you really throws you off. I would not recommend if you don't like math.
WONDERFUL professor, I highly recommend her. She explains things well and simply. Her quizzes and tests are based on the HW. She's VERY fair, as long as you go to class, do the HW (& understand it), you should be just fine. She cares about her students and grades really fast.
Horrible teacher, She doesn't use the textbook and has all her work online. She always show us the example on the board and finish it as though she think we all understand what she is doing. Her accent also makes it hard to understand. The only easy part of Math19 was the workshop, other than that. find a better teacher, she's not worth the time.
Zabric teaches Pre-Calculus, but hardly explains what she's teaching. She skips steps and assumes the whole class understands how she got to a certain answer. For math, it's necessary to understand each step. Not recommended for any math courses at SJSU. Other than that, she was a nice person.
Very easy class. Quizzes and tests every weeks until final. Kinda annoying, but it is helpful for your grade even though you fail one or two. She will drop the 2 lowest quizzes so no problems. She kinda skip some steps, if u dont understand, then just ask. She won't yell at you for SURE. All quizzes and tests, base on homework. EASY!!!!!
Very helpful, Tests and Quizzes questions are based (but not from) on the homework, Gives a large amount of online homework but gives you access to all the assistant tools on webassign, Moves a little fast for some when working on problems (I had no problem). Overall a great professor, don't be afraid to ask for help she's very friendly.
I am taking her right now, and it has been the hardest class i've had to take. She has an accent so it is hard to understand. She expects us to know what she is talking about but we dont. Tests are HARD. Doesnt use book. overall, hard to understand and unclear. Do not reccomend. really nice person, just not teacher material.
WONDEFUL TEACHER! Shes good for those that understand math very well and are fast learners. If you do not like math, have trouble with math, or move slow DO NOT take her. We have quizes every week that is based on the homework, and a test every 2 or 3 weeks. Shes extremely nice so don't be afraid to ask questions! She has a cool accent too.
Her accent is difficult to understand, people only come to class to take tests and quizzes, tedious and long online hw. doesnt use textbook. i dont recommend her...
Has an accent that you will get used to. Goes over the material relatively fast but will answer any and all questions you have. All the HW is online. Weekly quizzes are based off the HW. About 10 quizzes, 4 tests, and the final. Sit down and go over the book if you have trouble following her. Really nice teacher, don't feel afraid to ask questions.
To be sure, Professor Zabric is a kind person and invariably helpful, but she is not a pushover. I entered her class having recieved B's in high school math, but with a bit of determination and Professor Zabric's willingness to help, I ended the year with an A (97% before the final). She is a professor of superlative quality.
If you want to pass math, dont take her. You can not understand a word she says and she is not helpful whatsoever. All homework is on webassign and does not help. Overall horrible teacher
Before high school I loved math. high school ruined it for me. I was worried college would be worse so I retook precalc. Prof Zabric got me back into math with a passion. She's very kind, easy to talk to and ask questions, and easy to follow. The tests and quizzes stick 100% to the hw (webassign online) which I loved.
Dr. Zabric is a great teacher who cares about her students. She takes time to answer questions clearly. Sometimes she explains concepts too quickly but just ask for clarification and she'll guide you to understanding your question. Her grading on tests & quizzes is very fair. A quiz every week based on the homework. Overall, awesome teacher!
Wonderful teacher, required students to not only understand matrix operations, but where they came from. Very clear lectures and fair grading.
One of my favorite professors at SJSU.Class is very engaging and fun because of her sense of humor.I was able to learn calc 1 with ease, and I was able to fill in gaps in my learning from previous math courses. She is very understanding, and very approachable.I was filled with a sense of comfort in her class, and looked forward to attending lecture.
Homework is really easy, but when it came to quizzes and tests, they really screw you over. If you know you can study outside of this class, then you will succeed.
I think the structure of this course will prepare you for exams. If you do the homework, you'll do well on both the quizzes and exams. She enjoys the course, and feedback from students. She is very friendly and approachable. The concepts in this course are tough and non-mechanical so it's important to realize that you have to study a lot.
Wonderful professor. Need to actually study for this class.
She makes everything more complicated than it should be.
For me, professor Zabric is someone who I thought is difficult to talk to but instead, she is really nice and easy to approach. Her lecture is very clear, sometimes a little bit too fast for me. I usually go home, read the book and everything is fine. Sometimes she makes minimal mistakes but that doesn't bother me at all.
Very confusing lectures very long and boring. Easy quizzes but grades hard on tests. Shes nice but obviously cannot teach pre cal. Asks for questions then does not explain any of it. I reccommend not taking this class but if you do, for the love of god go to another lecture class.
*10 quizzes (drops lowest 2 at the end of the semester) 20% *4 tests (replaces lowest test score with final score if higher) 40% *final (cumulative) 30% *webassign hw (online, kind of long, around 4 assignments per week on average) 10% Has pretty strong accent that you will get used to. Approachable. Do not buy book, get the code with ebook.
I found this class semi difficult. I already took honors pre-cal in high school, so had a strong knowledge of what would be taught. When I went to lecture I would just get confused. Her teaching methods were hard to understand. Quizzes were easy, but test were difficult. Help is there if you ask. Strong accent.
Nice woman but incredibly boring lecturer. Hated going to class.
You have to be willing to work for your grade. If you are lazy and don't come to class I guarantee you won't pass. She explains math very well, if you actually listen and follow through her explanations you will understand. Her grading is fair and the class is very well organized. (Quiz Every Friday, 1.5 sections a day)
I don't know if it was just because she has never lectured in a bigger classroom but she is one of the most confusing professors i've ever met. She confuses herself most of the time. Depend on your workshop and homework because that is easier to understand than her. Also her study guides don't really help.
She is a great professor. She is really passionate and knowledgeable about Math, but understands that some sections are boring and tries to make them interesting. I am taking this class for a second time and Zabric is way easier than my last professor. She also gives a lot of extra credit too. You do need the book for WebAssign though.
Had a really tough time in this class but she offers so much to help you get the best grade. I got Ds on all the midterms,Cs on all the Quizs but went to class every day and did all the hw (you can get above 100% participationhw points). I got a B- right now. Drops lowest quiz, replaces 1midterm with final test if better really awesome professor
I would say my grade is about 10% higher than it should be because of her extra credit and grading policy. Quizzes are a breeze. Tests aren't so easy but there's always extra credit. Her test problems are more about understanding the basics rather than solving and impossible problems. Great prof. Aside from the extra credit. Great lecturer as well.
Zabric is one of the most helpful professors I've ever had. I retook this class and she made everything was clear to her students. She encourages her students to askparticipate if there are any questions. Her tests are very in line with what she teaches in her lectures!! :)
Great professor. Talk to her and she will help you. It's okay to miss class but if you think you can miss all semester than you're gonna have a rough time.
Took this 2 years ago. Lots of quizzes that were hard until she realized we were mostly failing, so she made them easier. Lots of homework. Always wore a skirt. Hard to understand through accent, but overall pretty easy if you practice the homework. And get yourself a good scientific calculator that can display lim. Her website/math website was req
Class itself was hard but she kinda made it easier. goes easy on the grades. Many quizzes(almost every week) but that prepares you for midterms and final.
I liked it, got an A+
If I had put in more effort would have been an easy A
It's easy to say that the professor is no good at teaching during lecture but she's really good at what she does. If you go to her for help, she will clear up all your issues and help you fully. Plus, she's a really nice grader! If you know the concept, but just made some minor calculation errors, she'll give you full points (usually).
She is nice and very understanding. Homework is MANDATORY to pass. Quizzes are VERY easy. Tests are about the same as the quiz. We are allowed a notecard for our cheatsheet and gave us a list of derivatives on the test. Her class is quite easy, if you tried. I unfortunately didn't try to hard, but passed with a B. Could've gotten an A if I tried.
easy A if you do the homework
