Professor Kendall is one talented teacher. He focuses on lots essay writing and reading, but this emphasis teaches students what they need to learn. He has a great attitude and willing to help students out when needed. A++++++++

I enjoyed taking Mr. Kendall's Eng 101 course. He made the class interesting and focused on our progress. He's also head of the English writing lab, so he's always on hand if you need help revising your essays. He lakcs a bit in organization, but overall he's a good professor.

He is a teacher that I almost felt in love, because he is clever, humour,and attractive. He knows the way where you should head, and like someone said that after taking his class, your IQ would jump to a higher score. He is a leader.

Prof Kendall is a very enthusiastic and inspiring teacher. He is also extremely helpful if you have question. His classes are interesting and different, he really gets you to think about the world. He sets quite a few essays, he grades fairly, more concerned about if you understand a subject than if your grammar is spot on.

Kendall is the best! I took his class last semester and loved it. Assignments are pretty straightforward and make you think outside the box. HELLO! It's Critical Thinking, if you want an easy way out, then don't take him. Also, he's HOT but don't let that distract you. He's married.

Excellent professor, knows what he's talking about. I took the course online and it was a breeze. He sparks up very interesting discussions and the course is well material is very motivated. the coursework is fair and moderate, very easy with his grading(practically got an A on every single test/quiz and assignment)

Not an easy class with this professor. He is a fair and very legit professor, friendly, chill, laid back, but expects quality work. You really need to have great writing skills to be successful at this class. He definitely doesn't hand out A's easily, you have to earn them. I'll remember him for always saying "I don't know" which is cute.

Kendall's class was very good. I learned so much and you can take many of the information to the outside world. Also, he's sincere and does want you to pass. Plus, he's super-friendly! But you have to do the work, and if you're a slacker then don't waste your time and your GPA.

First off, Prof. Kendall is one of the most brilliant and savvy teachers at Los Angeles City College. He provides a very reasonable amount of time for every assignment, and if ever you need help he is always available. Read the material, do the work, learn it, and walk away with a whole new perspective on the world. Take his class and you'll see.

I took Prof. Kendall for English 103 and English 212. He is one of the best English Professors LACC has. I won't say his class is easy, but if you pay attention to what he is talking about then the class seems easy. He's one of those teachers that encourage you to not give up. :D

Professor Kendall is actually one of my favorite professors in LACC. He will tell you what you need to know right from the first day of class. If you do decide to take his class, make sure you have enough time to do the work because you will need a great deal of it, but it's worth it. Take his class seriously and you'll do fine.

Professor Kendall is a great professor. Even though, i never met him in person because i took his online class; He is very helpful. He posts videos and comments in the forum that are very helpful about what happened in class. He is easygoing and sometimes gives extra time to finish papers. Always responds to any question; does not give a midterm.

This Prof. makes the environment of learning genre specific books more insightful than they are now. He will not force you to write a lot of papers per week. I took the 5 week winter session and as expected it was a ton of work. Expect to write and read a lot. I loved the online class so much that I wish I had the chance to take this professor on campus. Kendall is an excellent English professor. He makes the class exciting so its never boring. He is a fair grader. However, this is NOT an easy class. A handful of students have dropped the class after the midterm. If you are a laid back student, then this class is not for you.

If you already have strong writing skills then taking Kendall's class is for you . If you cannot write at a college level I don't recommend taking this professor . I liked his course overall because it was interesting but save yourself time and money if you're not ready to put in the work . I took his class in a five week session.

Professor Kendall is very helpful and entertaining. The books he chose were meaningful and interesting. Easy, not effortless. This 6 week online class may go by too fast, if you have to fix too many basic issues, such as using proper grammar etc.

I stayed in his class because of the comments and frankly they're true-he's an exceptional teacher. But it was because I stayed that I started noticing this beautiful girl in my class. We never talked till the day of the final and you won't believe it but, she's now MY GIRLFRIEND! So take his class bc you might just meet the love of your life.

This professor gave me confidence unlike no other. He will do what he can to help you succeed but he won't let you take advantage of him. Students are given five essays and have to read three books. Professor Kendall grades hard but he gives good feedback and students have the chance to resubmit essays.

This guy is amazing. Down to earth and if you need help, he's in his office when his syllabus says he will be. He's the only reason I'm going to take 103! This guy seriously improved my writing skills and I hope to one day be at least half as good a teacher as he is! English is not easy, but he will definitely help you the whole way!

If his class is open during your registration, don't hesitate to enroll because you have nothing to lose. If you did well in Eng101 and consider yourself to be decent writer with critical thinking abilities, he will grade you fairly and encourage your efforts. Great professor. He opens your mind up to other ideas and makes you want to pursue it. Homework and tests are the usual, just do them and get feedback in office hour if needed to pass. Make sure to read ahead of time so you can understand the lecture during book discussions. Ask question for clear understanding. Winter session goes quick, be ahead.

When you hear his lectures he sounds almost exactly like Jon Stewart. Very funny guy, he definitely challenges you to think in different ways and see other points of views. If you like English classes and don't struggle that much with writing essays, i do recommend the short term classes. More than anything he challenges you to think critically.

I really enjoyed this class. It made me think. A LOT. Kendall poses questions and prompts that make you critically evaluate not just the literature, but yourself. This is not an easy thing, but I've never learned so much in one course before. The online set-up is great: just watch the recorded in-class lectures (posted same day) and do the work.

Great professor!. 4-5 essays to do at home through the semester (each with more than enough time to complete) and the rest is in class timed writings. Gives the grade you DESERVE, and doesn't just "pass" you, but prepares you for 103. Doesn't like how standards for college education are lowering, so MAKE SURE you are ready to be taking Eng 101.

Professor Kendall is a really nice professor who gives a lot of feedback and answers any questions you may have. His assignments are not that hard, you just have to manage your time and make sure you turn in the work on time. He often would extend the due dates for the assignments because a lot of the students would not have their work done.

Evan Kendall is indeed a decent professor and is excellent for those who want to learn and improve their critical thinking and writing skills. He is very smart and his lectures are quite interesting and informative. Im cleverer, true, than those fops of teachers (Goethe, Faust) it is about him. I will really miss his lectures.

Kendall is an A+ professor. He is not the conventional professor. He has a young soul, he likes to introduce polemic topics, and he will stimulate his students to think out of the box. BUT, do not come to his class expecting an easy A. His class demands a lot of time not just to read but also to reflect about the content of the reading.

Prof. Kendall is one the great professors. Be prepared to read since the essays are based on certain books. To obtain a good grade go to his office hours and don't wait till the last minute to do an essay or you will get the grade that you don't want. If you didn't pass the class, don't blame Kendall. That's your fault. Definitely recommended.

I found that this professor because his was highly recommend by others retire people new him and also his listens to others and that's about it. I ask that if you can this professor uses bad language and doesn't understand it's good use bad language with other students in the class room. I wood give a B- mine or C+ for that matter. Taking a look between a good rating and teching, I was misleaded. He is not good nor bad but his teaching is not that great. I learned nothing in his class. I almost failed his class so the best choice I made was to drop his class. Very hard grader and not a good grader. I regretted taking him. I would not suggest taking Kendall for any class.

Prof. Kendall is great! He is tough when it comes to grading, but he's fair. You will have to read 3 books throughout the semester, one of them is really short, the other two are pretty long. The last book is tough with vocabulary and heavy on philosophy. There are 4 papers in total (2 main papers worth 400 and 600 pts. Around 8-10 pages).

Feel free to succeed or fail on your own merit. Professor Kendall will challenge your perceptions of freedom and humanity through thought-provoking texts. It is essential that you read the required text to pass this class. He has a great interest in philosophical thought, which makes for a great class conversation. Read more. Write more. Earn an A.

Don't take this class on a short term. Not because it is too difficult, but because it's a great class and you cheat yourself by taking the abridged version. Prof. Kendall is equally nurturing to his strongest and weakest students. You will learn much, regardless of which you are. Be prepared to work hard. But it'll be worth it.

Take this class if you want to actually learn something. During the class he talks about literature,values,history,world and all kinds of things. If you are going to miss a class you can ask him to record it for you, which he usually does.

When it comes down to the essays, reading, and note taking Professor Kendall provides the best experience for an English class. Professor Kendall is very good at grading your essays and will pinpoint every error you make to do better on the next essay. The reading material isn't heavy. The lectures provide better insight on material.

Greatest English class I've ever had, most English teachers I have had have a tendency to be a bit dramatic. I found it refreshing that I could just do the work and not have to worry about favoritism, nepotism, or egotism. Kendall is fantastic!

I took professor Kendall for ENG 102. He was amazing! He really wants you to learn and is very helpful. So if you are looking for an easy A I would not take him. He does make you work for it but its only because he wants you to be better. I would take him again if I could! Awesome and cool professor!

Professor Kendall was very helpful and understanding when it came to assignments. He is willing to help but of course you must communicate and show that you want to learn and be in that class. English is not my strongest subject but he took the time to help me with the readings and assignments in order to get a better grade.

Professor Evan Kendall is a gem for English majors. He doesn't mind talking shop and is very encouraging. He wants you to join the ranks of English majors. He genuinely likes students. He is liberal in a sense that he does not dictate every writing assignment. He wants a good essay but leaves it up to you to formulate the essay. no micromanagement

Professor Kendall had some health issues this semester so it was a little unusual but he was willing to give everyon plenty of time to turn in there were, all late work was allowed without penalties. He clearly cares about his students but if you take his class, please put an effort into it and you will get a good grade. I managed to get an "A".

The books are not easy to read and not easy to analyze and come up with some ideas for your essays. As a foreigner, because of that, I once thought of dropping this class but good thing I didn't. I learned things from him. Taking his class was the best decision I've made in this year.

I've taken classes with prof Kendall a few times and each time has been great. He states clearly what you should do and he's hilarious. This specific class did not have a heavy workload. It was an engaging in-person class. I would choose him again.
