Financial accounting in general at Rutgers is a nearly impossible class to get a good grade in. I know more people who failed then who passed. So no matter what, there's only so much Wasserman can do because this class is very hard. He honestly tries his best and wants you to excel, but this class is all about the time YOU put into it, not the prof
Great professor. Lectures are interesting even though the book makes it sort of dry. Midterm wasn't bad but the final was much harder (most of the material from the year was on it). Pay attention in lecture as he emphasizes the key points. Need to keep up with the pace throughout the semester as you cover around a chapter a week with homework.
This was his first time teaching inter325. His lectures are all over the place, basically talking to himself. Test are super hard, read the book to help you. the wiley questions arent the same as the exams. Try to avoid him if you can
Professor Wasserman is the man. He is there to help everyone! Talk to him, he's an awesome guy. Especially if you want to be an accounting major. Highly recommended for financial accounting, intermediate and auditing.
Financial accounting is not an easy class at Rutgers, but professor Wasserman made it better. The three hour lecture went by fast in his class. He is a great guy and really cares about his students both inside and outside the classroom
Professor Wasserman is the best professor I have ever had. He gives a lot of homework but he gives you a lot of time to complete it. The lectures can get boring but he makes it interesting with his funny comments. If u sit towards the front he will get to know you and your name. Hands down best prof.
You get lots of time to do HW. Financial Acct is a hard class overall, but he makes it enjoyable and really tries to help you. I would def recommend him (:
AVOID!! His lectures are really dry and he basically reads off the slides (which are already online). My class had about 250 people in it and only about 50 people showed up to class everyday because his lectures were absolutely useless plus attendance doesn't count (even though he makes you buy a clicker). Tough Exams and a lot of HW. AVOID HIM
He's really sweet and smart, but not the best at teaching. A lot is self-taught and exam wording is tricky. Would probably be better off with a different professor, it is a very difficult class.
Exams are hard. Homework is tedious. Get reading and homework down and you will be fine for exams.
Wasserman is pretty funny during lecture but he exams are impossible... financial accounting is already difficult as is and his exam questions are either trick questions or require a lot of thinking. Attendance doesn't matter because he sends you the slides which he just reads word for word in class but the homework is extensive.
This professor couldn't teach if his life depended on it. He literally reads word for word off the slides so there's absolutely no point to show up. He also makes the exams extremely difficult and intentionally tries to trick you. Avoid if possible
Took this professor just wanted to get this class over with, end up giving up and repeat it next semester because of the tough exam and pointless lecture. You have to do a lot of self-study which i didnt have time to do so this semester. Avoid him if possible. He threats students to put our grade on hold because of the incomplete survey. Terrible.
As long as you stay on focus in his lectures, complete all the assignments on time, attend those tutor sessions, there is no reason to get anything below a B.
mad easy class. dont have to show up
financial acctg IS a hard class that requires a lot of solid effort so from this standpoint you can't really blame him for those hard tricky exams. I had a hard time following him at lectures so i read the textbook cover to cover and outlined it and did the homework multiple times. the amount of effort put in WILL show on the grade. don't blame.
Professor Wasserman isn't a bad professor, the material is just a huge step up from the other pre-business classes, which are all pretty basic. He is okay at teaching, but he usually just goes pretty fast and its hard to keep up, so I stopped going to class. Exams are very tricky but just study AND UNDERSTAND the slides. Good luck with ECWCPA!
Prof Wasserman is a great professor who CARES about his students. If you are concerned about your grade, go to his office hours and he will literally sit down with you and break down the grading. Financial accounting is a very difficult class, use the tutors the department provides. STUDY HIS SLIDES for his exams
I went to tutor sessions, every lecture, and his OH and got a C+. Curve will bring people with Fs to Cs and people with Cs to C+. Not fair if u ask me. Would study very hard for exams and got 77 on first and 65 on the second and final. I would avoid and take a diff prof. Class avg for exams were in the 60s every time.
ECW CPA is the man. Best choice for Financial Accounting. Not an easy class, but his lectures are entertaining enough to keep you somewhat locked in. WileyPlus sucks but is the best method of learning some dry stuff.
If you're taking Accounting, this is the guy to take it with. Homework is a bit much but pace yourself and don't wait for the week of the due date. Teaches very clearly, and has a lot of resources to help you understand the material. What you learn will really stick with you. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is VERY helpful.
Everything you need to pass is on WileyPlus and in the group sessions. I would go to the group sessions over class because he just reads off the slides. Attendance isn't mandatory. Material can be difficult. If you can't learn on your own take advantage of the resources he provides. Final is cumulative and the guy is CRAZY about cheating.
Homework really saves you in this class, worth 20% of your grade so if you take him I would def try hard on the homework. Going to lecture is kind of pointless because he reads directly from the slides, so get ready to self-teach. Definitely go to the optional recitations, esp before exams. Exams are multiple choice, so really know the material
this class was the worst thing that ever happened to me
Ecwcpa is the man! He explains very clearly, and keeps you focused. You HAVE to understand the material to do well in his class, highly recommend him. Sit on the front!
Let me tell you, this guy is all over the place. His lectures are very fast paced and blow through information very quickly and it can be hard to follow. Exams are insanely difficult and there is a lot of homework. The only way to get through this class is to put in a lot of time outside of class and understand WHY you do certain things in Accounting.
Wasserman is by far the best financial accounting professor. Go to class and sit in the front, understand the concepts, and don't save all the homework until last minute. The exams are very manageable if you go over your homework and do the ORION practices problems in Wiley (a hidden gem when it comes to studying for this class). He's also funny
Personally, I did not like his teaching style; therefore, I had a very hard time in his class. He tends to go off topic a lot and it gets confusing. DEFINITELY, DO WILEY BY YOURSELF OR YOU WILL REGRET IT! Make sure to study a little every day, because it adds up and builds on each other. Essentially, I don't recommend and wish you the best of luck!
He likes to call on and make examples out of people sitting in the front, I didn't sit in the front but if you usually go to lecture and listen (for the most part) and do Wiley HW (somewhat) ahead of time you should be fine. His exams are all MC but as long as you do average/above average on exams and do all the Wiley, you can def get at least a B
ECWCPA as he calls himself is definitely a tough professor. Hardest of all the financial accounting professors. From a teaching perspective, Wasserman is very thorough and experienced in the material, its just that his tests are insane. The class has a solid curve, so you probably will pass, just study the ORIÓN and the homework.
Hard exams and definitely require some self study. Getting grade above B is possible.
Is kind of difficulty you need to know your stuff if you want to pass. He loves tricky questions which are not a bad thing if you have a passion for the subject.
if you do every single hw problem multiple times, read the slideshow fully and know it super well, and go to one on one tutoring sessions, you will get an A
This professor might actually be the most difficult in accounting. In class he's all nice and he jokes around but during the exam you see a completely different side of him. He has the tendency to yell at people during the exam even if they ask a question. You need to do all the Wiley ( and ORION) on time and study everything 2-3 times.
I had Professor Wasserman for Intro to Financial Accounting and I would definitely take him again. He is a great professor. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you sit in the first few rows he will be more interactive with you. MC exams. Go to class b/c there is always a question on the exam that deals with an example he gave in class.
Professor Wasserman is funny. The exam is heavy but if you work hard on it you may be fine. There is also a class assistance which needed registration. The tutor there is helpful.
I personally did not like him because he yelled a lot. His entire lecture was just yelling and trying to embarrass students. The class itself was difficult but there was tutoring all the time and a lot of extra help online, take advantage of it. I didn't go to class because I couldn't concentrate and I did alright.
It' not an easy class but professor Wasserman is kind of funny. He kept interacting with the front roll so if you don't want to be asked in the class, don't sit in the front. The exams were not easy. You definitely need to study and complete all the assignments by yourself to pass this course.
Do not take his class, he's telling nothing in the class and he is not a nice person. watching the video online about accounting is better than his class.
hard class. does not teach well. basically have to teach yourself everything. exams are all multiple choice and hard. he only curves the final and lemme tell you the curve is not that big at all. every single one of his exams should be curved in my opinion. the class average for each of his exams was a 58...
He made this class harder than it had to be. I feel like I learned a lot in this class and studied well for exams, but some of his questions often felt impossible to answer because we had not learned the material or he barely went over it. That being said, hes an awesome person and cares for his students.
I find that his NJIT rate page is most accurate. He definitely suffers from bipolar disorder. You will see this during exams he yells at his own TAs. His exams are unnecessarily hard and he gives so much homework which covers concepts but doesn't help for his multiple choice exams. Take my advice: Don't take him; I recommend taking Sarah O'Rourke
I'm not finished talking about this guy. I emailed him before withdrawing and although he didn't say it directly, he basically called me an idiot and told me that I should use his resources (which and I did and guess what? they didnt help). I am limited to what I can say on this website however again DONT TAKE HIM
Not a bad guy, but one of the worst professors Ive ever had between the 3 universities Ive attended. Makes the exams so unnecessarily difficult. There is no reason introduction to financial accounting should be one of the hardest classes for a business/sport management major. Take it in the summer with Orourke. Youll be shocked at difference
He is very tough
I had Evan Wasserman for intro to financial accounting this semester and I can honestly say he was the best professor I have had at Rutgers. His exams are really easy and I got an A studying the day of the exam. His in class lectures are very interesting and hes a really good professor. Would recommend taking him for this class over any professor.
ECWCPA is a great instructor who cares about each student in his class. He is a very funny professor and his class as a whole was very interesting. His class is super easy. If he wasn't so funny, I would say you should just skip the class because attendance is not mandatory and the class is so easy you would have to try to fail it.
financial accounting with him was very very easy. Great instructor with very easy exams.
I went to every lecture and did all the homework but still ended up with a 77 in the class. Disappointed because even though he wants us to do good he makes the test extremely difficult and way too much application than what is necessary. I was gonna be an accounting major, but clearly he changed my mind :( DO NOT TAKE find someone else
If you think by just going to class and doing your homework you'll be good, then you're underestimating accounting. I put more time in this class than the usual because accounting is no joke. ECW's lectures ARE boring, but there's a lot of practice in Wiley/ORION. Mind you, I knew NOTHING about accounting earlier and I did just fine in ECW's class.
HORRIBLE LECTURER. Went to every lecture, did hw, Orion problems, & nothing helped. Exams are much harder then hw or Orion. The curve is the only reason I passed. A women came to class to fill in for him one day, and it was the best lecture yet. TAKE ANYONE ELSE BUT HIM. Financial Accounting is hard regardless, he will only make it worse for you.
Very hard class. If you dont keep up with it weekly and make sure you truly know what youre doing, you will fail. Definitely the most stressful class I have ever taken. I studied 4 days straight for the final but it is so much info that if you dont pay attention all semester you will fail for sure. If u dont wanna pursue acc, dont take him!
Wassermen really knows his stuff and is a great professor, best one I have had here so far. He knows how to make students retain knowledge did not even have to study for exams.
Wasserman is a fantastic Professor. As long as you go to class, you will easily pass; memorizing his slides and lectures is enough to do well. Hes also really, really funny.
Many students dislike Wasserman, but he's a great guy who truly cares about helping his students. The class is tough, and you have to study a lot for the exams, but the workload is manageable. Do all the extra hw problems and the Orion problems, and you should do well in the class.
Not a bad professor. He does care about his students and wants them to succeed; however, his exams are tough. Some questions were barely covered in class and were analytical. Auditing is hard regardless of professor.
Not that bad. He's a decent teacher and makes sure that you learn the material and can be funny at times. However, is a major stickler when it comes to exams. Attendance not required and is fine with laptops.
very hard quiz and lots of homework in his course, please do not choose his course. If you do, you will false in pre-business core
Although it is a very test heavy course with 70% of your grade on two exams (30 on midterm 40 on final). The test on the midterm was basically the slides he gives you if you understand the slides you will have no problem getting an A on the midterm. I only studied for two days and got an 85 on the midterm it is out of 40 questions
The course is difficult. Three exams and homework throughout the course. Homework was online, and doable and should boost your grade a lot. People tend to struggle with the exams but he gives you study guides telling you the topics you will be tested on. I thought it was really fair and straight foward. Wasserman is a great guy and super helpful.
This is a tough course. As a person with zero accounting background, and feared for the difficulty of this class, I had to work for my A. People say Wasserman is tough, and he is if you don't study. He gives study guides before every exam, and they are VERY helpful. As long as you know the study guide in and out and do the homework, you'll be fine!
Homework can get annoying long. Other than that Like professor Wasserman's class. His jokes are funny. He explained the concepts well. I didn't teach myself anything. His exams are easy
Wasserman is truly underrated and I don't understand the negative reviews here. His exams are all MC and are very representative of the study guides he shares. If you have a background in accounting you should be able to breeze through this course. As long as you know the study guide in and out and can do every hw problem, you will be good on exams
I dont understand how this man has good reviews. He is kind of a racist . Only talks nicely to the white girls and boys, and yells at every other race. His exams are hard. He yells and is mean during them. I cant even concentrate during them. His study guides are mixed up and unorganized. Very ignorant person
class is hard he doesn't really help it
There's a lot of homework and I don't really think he's that good of a teacher. He kind of rambles and yells a lot in class. If you take him, you'll see what I mean. I think there are better options out there.
To learn the auditing material, read the textbook. Wasserman only goes through the highlights in class. Funny lectures and real life stories to keep students engaged. Tough exams and case paper. Makes you learn auditing. Lots of HWs. Prepares you well for future careers and the CPA exam.
DO NOT TAKE! The good reviews this guy has just aren't true. He goes on random rants and is hard to understand at times due to his stutter. He gives an insane amount of homework (3-4 hours a week). His exams are multiple choice, but every question is a trick question. The average on exams was in the 60's. Only good thing was huge curve at the end.
Took Financial Accounting with Prof Wasserman over the summer. It's a lot of material and he gives tons of homework. He grades fairly and wants to help his students. Definitely study the textbook and ask him your questions. It's crucial to understand accounting concepts.
Overall he was okay. He clearly knows what he is talking about and is knowledgeable. However, the material is tough and his exams can be tricky. Additionally he assigns an overwhelming amount of homework. Course grade is based on 3 exams and homework. Study for exams and you will b okay but if you aren't ready for hours of homework don't take him.
Very poor at class managing, always waste a lot of time on some tiny concepts giving a 5 min examples. Online course, on average, 3hr pre-recording each chapter and 2 full classes time!! not working at all. I can learn better with reading the slides. Very rude at Asian students, show little respect.
ONLY READ IF VIRTUAL In short, Professor Wasserman is your patient, and you're his therapist (in class). He spends much of class complaining to his 11 viewers why his class doesn't show up to lectures, when the answer is clearly in front of him. He knows accounting and teaches well, but lectures are long cause of his stutter. A bit unorganized. GL!
WORST ACCOUNTING PROF DO NOT TAKE WASSERMAN I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE WASSERMAN. he doesn't care for his students, makes you figure everything out by yourself and won't work with you. Other profs allow notes for tests he doesn't. He is an a s shole who doesn't care for his students. Brags about how many kids fail his class. DO NOT TAKE WASSERMAN
Do yourself a favor and take a professor who can get through the same information in less time (without stuttering), and one who is more communicative with students during a global pandemic where everybody is struggling a little extra, rather than one who ignores student emails when he gets stressed.
To be fair, Im not really sure how he is in-person, but as someone who was a part of his virtual class this semester, hes by far the least accommodating and most arrogant professor I had. Was not willing to listen to the requests of students and was far less lenient than every other professor in the department. Do not take at all.
The absolute WORST professor I have had during my online learning experiences at Rutgers so far. Extremely unaccommodating with all students and exams are unreasonably more difficult than what is discussed in class. Lectures are pointless to attend due to his tendency to get off-topic. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE!
Do not take Professor Wasserman, he is mean, unhelpful, and not a good professor especially in online format. He goes off on tangents about the Yankees and Mallomars and acts like he's friends with everybody even though everybody hates him. Too much homework compared to other sections, and his tests are all trick questions. He's a confused old man.
The online format caused this class to implode. Prof Wasserman doesn't account(lol) for the livelihood of his students, whether it be bragging about people failing his class or not accommodating during strenuous times. The class is heavily conceptual, which I thought was impossible for such a black & white subject. HARD EXAMS & HW. **STAY AWAY!!!**
A lot of the reviews seem harsh. It's not an easy subject and while a lot of the time he was not fully clear in instructions, when it came to the actual material he was a good teacher. Homework is long but they really helped when it came time for exams. It's a class that needs effort, but don't be intimidated, he'll help you if you ask for it
One of the worst professors Ive ever taken at Rutgers. Accounting was hard, but the prof made it even harder by being unaccommodating, discouraging and unorganized. He was also extremely paranoid about cheating to a point where it was annoying. Exams were filled with trick questions, please steer clear unless you want to be stressed out 24/7.
Professor Wasserman is the great professor with strong sense of responsibility! He explains everything in details for sure. I have seen many unfair comments of him before I decide to take his class. After taking his class, I must say those comments are not true. I start feeling interested in accounting. Take him if you want to learn!
Avoid this professor. He is very rude and mean. His exams are tricky and he will not help during office hours. I would never take this class again especially with this professor. BTW- he also assigns hella homework, so it's best to not take this class if you don't need it.
Wasserman is by far one of the worst professors I have ever had. He teaches terribly and moves far too fast. By the time he says "everybody good?" he's already moved onto the next slide. He keeps confusing me when he uses analogies by including students, which just makes things more confusing. I really hope I never take his class ever again.
This class is confusing plus he makes it more confusing by using the examples that are confusing!!
Took Wasserman for financial accounting. He sometimes goes slow, and uses analogies that aren't really necessary, but it isn't bad, the course textbook is easy to follow if you don't understand class. Biggest tip for the class is to really focus on the first few chapters, if you understand them well it's easy to understand the rest.
Falsely accused me of cheating during an exam because I didn't respond to a TA's text chat quickly enough through zoom (I was working on a problem, my hands were visible; clear that I did not cheat & test was recorded so I had proof). When it was clear that I did not cheat, he made me solve several unrelated problems as "proof" and made no apology.
Great guy, bad professor. Exams are borderline impossible.
Pro's: - Specific and Clear in class -Good Homeworks helps retain information. do them and understand them. -Best Textbook I've ever read, use Wiley -No stupid Questions. spends as much time as necessary teaching you in office hours Con's: -Talks fast, hard to keep up -NEED to go to class to retain info Conclusion: Great Professor. Hard Course.
Wasserman is a weird case. He's very extroverted and clearly knowledgeable about audit. His examples in class are helpful and his animation is engaging at times. He can sometimes be a bit pushy and really likes calling individual students out. Group project is really poorly formatted but the exams are alright. Theres worse prof but better ones too.
Great professor will make sure you understand the topic thoroughly before he moves on in his lecture.
I'm honestly really shocked by his bad ratings. I'm taking him this semester for Intro to Financial Accounting. He's very extroverted which makes class really fun. I think he's good at explaining concepts and the textbook he uses is also really helpful. I think he's a good prof but people hate accounting and therefore don't like him lol
WORST PROF EVER. DO NOT TAKE HIM. HE IS SO RUDE AND PICKS ON PEOPLE RANDOMLY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. I WISH I NEVER TOOK HIM. VERY HARD EXAMS AND ASSIGNS SO MUCH HW ON WILEY. REPEAT: DO NOT TAKE HIM
Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go because he really explains the concepts. He also provides slides with his own annotations. The grading scale for the accounting department is messed up, but he tries his best. For the exams, just make sure that you really understand the concepts
Prof Wasserman really is one of a kind! His exams can be a bit difficult, but if you study you'll totally be fine. He is super funny and engaging and he explains the concepts extremely well. You can tell he is passionate about accounting and wants students to succeed. Most of your grade is exams, but if you study it's a manageable class. Take him!!
I am not sure what everyone's issue is, but I took this class last sem for 2 weeks and dropped because I didn't understand a thing. After retaking this Summer I have been doing great. He may be a little bit odd with his teaching methods, but using anecdotes and including the class in his examples makes it really interesting. I would recommend him.
For fin accounting he's a great professor. Grading is straightforward, just homework and a few exams. The tests are pretty easy given the material you learn in the class -- all multiple choice. As long as you study well before tests you'll do great.
Let's get this out of the way first, he is rude and doesn't care about you. But other than that he is not bad and actually puts out good lectures and study materials to ace your exams. He definitely should be one of the top picks from all the other accounting professors. Also is very knowledgeable in accounting and what he teaches.
This is the worst Professor ever. He is rude and arrogant. When he sending the email, he always write everything in uppcase, makes students very uncomfortable. He is not a bad guy, he made exam extremely hard. Take him if u want to fail
Professor Wasserman is very kind hearted and cares. However, his lectures often left students confused. The good thing is that he was always available if you wanted to clarify things or needed help. There's weekly homework to pad your grade. Midterms and finals are pretty hard, so study A LOT. Overall, he's a great person, not the best lecturer.
It's a boring class overall. I wish it was more exciting, when studying for it you cant help but to get bored since its a CONCEPTUAL process. There's a lot of material for both exams - manage your time wisely.
Don't listen to negative reviews. He makes a very boring topic not boring. His lectures are very informative. His homework is fairly deep but it is work that you would be doing anyway to review for exams. If you can do the homework without having to look too much at your notes you will get A. Definitely take him for intro to financial accounting.
really only graded on 2 exams. Each exam has over 10 chapters, and the final is cumulative. the slides should be sufficient enough to study to pass the exam, but there is a lot of details to cover and memorize. the exams are purely conceptual, too.
Wasserman is really passionate about accounting, but his lectures are just reading off the slides. I really only learned by doing the massive amounts of homework. Exams (2 midterms and final) were all multiple choice and not bad at all if you actually do the homework. He also lets you join the lectures from WebEx and posts the recordings.
Challenging upper-level course as expected. The professor is knowledgeable and passionate about the subject.
His lectures are funny, but he mostly just reads from the slides. Homework is pretty intensive, but helps prepare you for exams. Exams are all MC and fairly straightforward if you know the material well. Posts all class recordings, but expects good attendance. Overall, he is very fair and the class is easy if you pay attention.
I took Intro to Financial Accounting and I thought he was a great! His notes come straight from the textbook and are easy to follow along with. Super funny and easy to ask him questions. Get to know him and he will approach you during lectures to answer some things or just talk! Make sure to do the homework on time because some problems are long!
This professor has a big attitude. He is very passive-aggressive towards students who don't come to class even though it's not necessary because he doesn't add anything extra against his slide decks. He can be funny but besides those moments he is very unaccommodating and I don't find him approachable. If you can avoid him, do it.
I would rather wait for my package from China to arrive in real time than listen to his lectures. I admit he has a lot to say in class but half the things are completely unrelated to the subject. He also made me not want to go into auditing, I took this career path off my future because of this class. Unfortunately, he is inevitable. Good luck.
If anyone takes wasserman, you are asking to be put through the worst experience of your life. He is an old cranky guy who doesn't grade fairly and complains all the time about results when the results are a reflection of his teaching. Take any other professor besides him if you want to enjoy accounting and not despise the class just because of him
Professor Wasserman keeps the class engaging with his interactive teaching style. The homework is challenging but helpful for exam prep. Unstuck AI and the free textbook were great study tools. Overall, a solid intro accounting course.
accounting is so hard and wasserman is very passionate about it. his lectures are boring but that's b/c the subject is boring. he does his best to make it interesting, if you show up and talk in class he'll remember you and help you out along the way. his study materials r a little confusing but do the hw and attend lecture and you'll be fine.
Professor Wasserman is an extremely fair teacher who bases his exams completely off the homework's. If you understand the homework's and study the concepts being utilized in the homework's you will be able to receive an A in this class. His lectures are very engaging so it is worth it to show face for class. I 100% recommend this professor.
Attendance being optional is awesome. There is a weird group audit paper, but it's really easy, just make sure you cover all topics in it. The exams were challenging but sort of like the hw but slightly harder. Class is difficult, but if you keep up with the chapters you'll be fine. DONT FALL BEHIND LIKE ME trust
Do not take him. Will literally go on tangents about useless stuff and then wonder why the class does so poorly on an exam. Meaningless rants, constant yelling, the wording on the tests are so complex you might as well take an English class to prep.
Difficult professor. I can tell he's super passionate about accounting but just way more strict compared to my other professors. Wish I had the option to take Orouke
Take him for financial accounting. Show up to lecture and he will explain things very clearly. Is a great professor in comparison to other financial accounting professors, and honestly one of my favorite I've had so far at RBS. Exams are easy and are similar to the homework.
I would advise you to not take him. Class average for the second midterm was a 63. He kept making statements throughout the midterm and it was difficult for me to focus. The final is worth 38% of your grade so keep that in mind. Homework barely boosts your grade even if you score good on them.
All of these bad reviewers just didn't go to the lectures. Professor Wasserman's class is very easy, but is difficult if you don't participate or show up to class. His lectures are exactly what's on the exams, so as long as you go you'll do fine. Only abt 30 students in my around 100 student class show up to the lectures, so why people do bad.
The worst professor I ever took at Rutgers. I literally went to the office hours for help, and he just judged me the entire time for not knowing certain topics. He basically called me out for being "dumb" indirectly, like I didn't just show up to office hours to get help on THOSE specific topics BECAUSE I DON'T understand them. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
His rating is so low because people do not show up to class (~30%). The reason why: no clue. I was pretty worried about the difficulty of financial accounting going into the class so I made sure to go to every lecture, and I was surprised how easy his exams were: it is EXACTLY like the homework and the problems that he goes over in class.
Absolutely hilarious and very experienced, so definitely go to lectures. Plus he might include information only from lectures in his exams. His teaching style definitely isn't optimal, so I suggest you review some lecture material as the course progresses. Definitely participate and ask him questions about his work experience.
He was extremely unhelpful, and it reflected on his poor attendance in class. He would go on and on about topics unrelated to class and would have bursts of rage out of nowhere. He would be extremely distracting during exams, walking around yelling into his mic, almost as if he wanted to catch someone cheating. Every exam average was below a 65.
