always wears a turtleneck and her hair in a bun.. wtf? and she's boring. i don't like her.
Nice lady, but her voice is annoying!!! I pulled a B in the class and never touched any of the homework.
This women is the devil. She doesn't make eye contact. Her voice is puts you to sleep. She says exactly what the book says. She spends more time confusing the class then teaching. Almost everyone in my class hates her!
She's a very fair teacher... She has a strict attendance policy, but it's with good reason, she wants to pass. She is very punctual, gives relevent assignments, and teaches very well. The content is boring, but that's not her fault. She does her best.
Failed her class even after i went to her for help. She is just a horrible teacher!
I have never hated a class as much as this one. I can't stand her talking, and she can't teach. I counted 45 "oks" in 15 min!!! She reads from the book and isn't helpful at all. Everytime i walk to her class i hope a ninja jumps out and breaks
She is really really crappy. Can't teach if her life depended on it. 50% of the class was failing or had poor grades because she couldnt teach. Do not take her. No curve, no forgiveness, no anything.
She sux..I was having trouble in the class and went to her for help and she basically shooed me away. I failed the class and had to retake it. What a waste of time!
Teaches like we are all 2 years old
Boredom. Witch. Reminds of the teacher on the wonder years - Ben Stein.
This is the worst teacher ever... DO NOT TAKE HER
my god, i dont know how anyone could give this woman a positive review...liar, witch...jesus she sucks, avoid her at all costs.

Do Not Take This Woman! She will not teach you a thing-- she copies everything from the book onto the board, so there is no need to buy the $120 piece of crap... Also, if the whole class is failing, she won't care and will end up failing everyone-- BEWARE
i HATED this women. terribly unhelpful - she's "too busy!" i went to the tutoring center for this class. i took my homework there and my tutor explained to me what was going on. i stopped taking notes by the end but got an a... only thanks to m
She is a total **** who does not have a clue how to teach. She makes Antarctica seem cozy and warm.
Hm, if you have taken pre-calc recently you will be ok. She wore her hair the same exact way the entire semester and always had stripes on! Very anal retentive, boring class but if you take notes and do the homework, you should be ok.
I had a very hard time in the class. Be prepared to fill an entire notebook of notes. Tests were difficult. She was not very clear.
boring period
She was ok, nothing special. Goes through the lessons really fast and is very wordy in her explainations. Tests are pretty easy if you study for about an hour or so. Nice person though.

A little odd, but generally a really sweet lady with good handle on the material. I don't recomaned her however if you don't already have a working knowledge of Algebra and Pre-Calculus, because she can be a little hard to follow sometimes.
Be careful signing up for this class, because as she will remind you often, this is not actually an algebra course, but pre-calc w/o the trig. I found her to be a really good teacher, but if you don't understand, either ask in class or get extra help b/c she moves on pretty steadily.
she makes simple problems hard, if u can teach yourself, it shouldnt be a problem, the material is easy, but she doesnt explain it well, all her notes are from the book, so she uses big words and makes it harder then it should be
She gives a TON of notes but she is really nice and gives partial credit on EVERYTHING. Also, participating will help your grade immensely.
She makes everything seem harder than it actually is, tons of notes, and her study guides don't help at all for the tests. If you pay attention though and do the HW, you will do fine.
The class is hard. She gives 3 exams and thats it. Nothing else is calculated into your grade. The exams are hard. I wouldn't take take. Most people end up dropping her.
This is the worst math instructor i have ever had. She should pay to stand in front of the class. She reads word for word from the book.
Terrible teacher. Never NEVER take her.
Her voice is annoying... she rewrites the textbook on the board, so if you can teach yourself from the text then your set, she makes simple ideas and problems very complicated! Part of the final is take home and it's hard, give yourself about 20 hours to complete it, seriously! She say's okay a billion times a class... very boring teacher! *sigh*

Does not explain things well
Miserable....avaoid at all costs....seriously
i dont know why everyone rated her so bad.. i thought she was great and i hadn't had math since early high school when i took her class. if you do the homework and take her notes, it's definitely an easy class.
ignore that persons rating.... that was an esy class.... anythin a bit i difficult at she is horiable... i heard she was on probation for 2 years for failing all her students. EVERYONE minus the engenering majors in my class are failing or bordline passing avoid at all costs... take zang over her..... she just copies the book on the board... i aske
she was pretty tough but then again i never took the pre calc class so maybe i made it hard for myself. i guess i was lucky to have passed.
She is a nice person. I am sorry to say, she can not teach. She takes the textbook and just writes it on the board. That is not teaching. That is reading from the textbook. That is our job.If you can, you should take someone else. But I think she is the only one teaching it for the Spring2005. Good Luck to all of you.
Great teacher, do the HW, ask some questions in her office, and you pretty much got urself an A or B. Recommended.
Took in Fall 2005, great professor, study the review, and practice from the HW, you will do fine on the easy tests.

She's awful. She copies the book and puts it on the board and doesnt explain anything. Be prepared to rewrite the book. She says "um kay" about 1000 times (we counted) and doesn't explain herself very well. Take this class at community college if you can.
I really enjoyed Professor Weinstock's Discrete Math class. She explained ideas very well and was always willing to help. Each day, she went over any homework problem that students wanted to review which I found very helpful. She also is willing to help whenever needed. Take her - you'll like her!
the class is a joke. i sleep through it and get a's. 3 tests, gives reviews before hand. doesn't check the homework, but does ask for volunteers to do them on the board. if you want an easy math class, take this class!
Dr. Weinstock is one of best math teachers I have ever had. She presents material in a very simple way. I recommend her for people that need one math. She is such a cool person. Take her.
she was awful. she gave me my final grade on how much i knew not my grades. she does not do examples outside of what is already written in the book even when asked. dont take her ever!
she was awesome. she gave me my final grade on how much i knew . She does variety of examples in the book even when asked. take her ever! she is hot too!
Just awful, not helpful at all, had to retake the course,
Brutal....All she does is pull right from the book and lecture....Goes over homework, rushes through everything. And is vague on what to prepare for on tests take other if possible.
lets see...everyone I talked to had to take Discrete Math twice because of her. Her note pages are yellow because she's used them since the 1970's. She just re-iterates whats already written in the book (which doesn't make sense). Save yourself the money...take Wong
She teaches directly from the book, simply reading what is in the book and preaching it to the class. If you have had no experience in Calculus before, she is not the right professor to learn for the first time from. Assuming you know Calculus, her class is a hard review, but still a review. She's very intelligent, but her teaching skills lack.
All the notes and examples are word-for-word, directly out of the textbook. The tests are hard and the Mathematica projects are pointless. The class is often very boring, but you have to pay attention if you want to do well. She isn't the worst, but she definitely would not be my first choice. Hard workers will do fine in her class.
not a good professor at all, rounded down my 78 average to a C rather than a C+ because she felt I didn't understand the material well enough. She doesnt teach well and makes teh material much more confusing than it actually is.
If you want to learn math than take another professor. Does not teach well at all. Copies her notes directly to the board and thats it figure it out yourself. On two of my test got right answers but marked wrong because it wasn't the way she would have done the problem (there is more than one way to do a problem).
Teaches straight from the book, so if thats how you learn take this class if not stay away because she barely explains anything. makes everything harder and more complicated on the test than what she teaches, basically sets you up to do poorly
pretty dry as a teacher, as the semester goes on u might see her sense of humor, knows her stuff, pretty good calc 1 teacher I wouldn't avoid her because of her bad ratings shes not that bad, shes pretty straight forward, and gives a lot of credit if you get things wrong, but does take off points for stupid things, dont avoid her shes not bad
By the book. Not personable. Not the hardest grader but the material is rough. Keeps math boring and shows no relevance of the topic. I'd say avoid.
Absolutely horrible no help teached right from book no explantions monotone and extremely boring DO NOT TAKE
Terrible Teacher. All she does is stand at the front, block the notes she wrote on the board and read you the book. She is absolutely no help to you when you ask a question. Her lectures are unbearable. She gives you a grade on class participation, but calls on the same three people every day no matter who else has their hand up. AVOID HER
Every single review is correct about this woman. She will spend 10 minutes solving a problem by hand and then say, "But you can just plug it in to your calculator" but then when a "simple" question is asked she will say, "That is elementary algebra and you should know it" and move on. She does not teach and she's monotone!
Very clearly spoken. Taught the material in a way every one understood. Made sure every one understood. Answered any and all questions. Goes over all homework. Allows Cheat sheets on test! great teaching style, easy class! got an A+. You'll do fine if you show up to class. Shes really not that bad.
horrable teacher. stay away from her if you can. stares at the ground, never looks at the class. test are hard. avoid her if you can.
Another teacher that will just drone from the text rather than try to do anything interesting. dont expect any help either as if you are doing poorly she will not give extra credit. She has no interest in a student's learning. This is the first class I ever failed. Typical doctor that knows the material but cant teach worth anything. do not take.
Had for Calc 3. Very monotone, very boring. Explains the problems she sees as difficult- all those are easy. Never explains problems she thinks are easy-they are the tough ones. I'm a math major and was lucky to get a B. Avoid at all costs unless you plan on teaching yourself!!!!!! I wouldn't take her classes ever again.
Had for accelerated calc 2. She is aweful, the hardest grader ever, its her way or no way. She is soo monotone and talks into the board and the floor the entire time. The only chance you have to pass is if you know the material already. Take any other professor.
Momtone. Teaches really fast, not enough time to listen to her talk and take notes. She suggested that 1/2 the class drop. Test had a average of 50, no curve.
terrible....terrible...TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Her teaching methods are not good at all!!
Weinstock isn't mean, she's just an awful teacher. Writes a lot faster than you, and most of it is useless concepts. There are examples, which do help, but it is easy for them to get lost in translation. "Class participation" is people going up to solve HW, which helps, but it actually brings your grade down with her system. Don't take her class.
She drones on, tons of notes, only three exams worth almost all of the grade, turns students away who ask for help, said over half should drop the class a month in after first exam, median grade was a 50, no curve, extra credit subjective.. Avoid if poss. Whole class disliked her teaching
Same as everybody else sais, she is a terrible teacher. She goes over problems for half the class and then goes over the lesson in a strange way. She does the proofs of every formula which confuses the class and the 3 tests are worth almost 90% of the class. Attendance, quizzes, participation and anything else is worth... 7% Attendance is required.
She is ridiculous, she grades in a way that makes literally no sense, 83% of your grade is dependent on your tests, and she doesn't teach you anything. She also has it out for me, she won't let me get full credit for participation grade and grades everything of mine to a whole new level.
she is dreadful, shes a bad teacher who doesnt kno how to explain anything. she tells everyone to just drop her class and go back to precalc. she gives exams that have really hard problems that she didnt explain. ever. avoid her unless you actually alredy know calc reallyyy well.
She is the worst thing i have ever encountered. She dances around questions she can't answer (which is most, moron) and if it's something she does know, she goes out of her way to make you feel like an idiot. She couldn't properly teach any of the 5 chapters we did in her class, and spent more time repeating nonsense than teaching the material.
BY FAR THE WORSE PROFESSOR! If you ask her a question, she belittles you! Beats around the bush bcuz she doesn't know how to teach, or tells you to print the syllabus.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!I went from an A student in advanced math to barley passing precalc..=/
She is the absolute worst teacher that i have EVER had. She give you an example before she even teaches the problem!!! And she does this annoying "uhhmmm" sounds after every few words. soo annoyingg..stay far away from her class
She's the kind of professor who doesn't care whether you pass or fail, and in fact tells you to drop out of the class if you don't do well after the first test. Her lessons are the cliffnotes of the book, and her handwriting on the board is illegible. She lies when she says something will not be on a test/quiz, and she grades unfairly. DO NOT TAKE!
She isn't the greatest teacher. Definitely need to study daily, but calc 2 is tough no matter what. Very annoying, "uhhhh" every other word.
Pros - she speaks english, easy subj Cons- good luck getting full credit on anything. She grades if you dont use her notation(which is different from the book) its - a few pts;usually i did better on quizes which i got all the questions wrong rather correct idk how;you will lose points for using degrees, spelling and she forces the bellcurve
Take any other professor, dont listen to your friend in Calc III who said she wasnt to bad. listen to the internet..oh and if you do take her, go up to the board 7 times in the first 2 weeks, just pretend you dont know how many times you went up. cuz last week of the semester she is still only calling up people who have been up less than 3 times
She's... alright. If you have taken Calc I before in HS, avoid her, she takes things very slow and tends to over repeat herself. If you haven't she's not bad, not great, but not bad, and is really nice and gentle with everyone and her tests are really easy and exactly like the quizes you take in class. She's easy to understand and follow as well.
Definitely an avoid at all costs professor. You can tell she doesn't care if you fail. She's very absent minded and not a very good lecturer, she flies through topics, and hates answering questions. Her exams are fairly straightforward, but she's a tough grader. Gives plenty of examples and extra credit for going to the board.
I had this teacher a few semesters ago. Those of you who are complaining about her teaching methods probably shouldn't be math majors! If you really are interested in math... then it'll be interesting regardless if she's monotone at times. Was she a tough grader? Yes, but at least you'll be more prepared for the next math courses. Quit your whining
Lots of complaints about her but I thought she did a good job. I learned a lot in her class (calc 2) and she communicates well through email. I would recommend her. Her little eccentricities are kind of entertaining too.
No one in my class got full credit for anything. If you study, A LOT, you should be okay. If math does not come naturally to you for the love of God don't take her. I asked multiple questions. She would answer but she would repeat what she already said so I couldn't exactly understand the lectures. If you're a math lover, you'll think she's fine.

I took calculus before even taking this class and still managed to get a C. Her exams are super hard and she throws curveballs on them. There's either 3 or 4 exams (I can't remember) that will determine your whole grade. After the first exam about 1/4 of the class dropped. She's terrible at answering questions and never answers them directly
Terrible at explaining Calc. She over explains simple concepts and breezes through difficult ones. Isn't clear at all and her handwriting is hard to read. Also extremely boring and a overly strict grader.
Horrible teacher, I love math, I got all A's in every math class I took except for Weinstock's. She doesn't explain critical concepts and wastes time on who knows what. Get another math professor, they are all better than her.
I was expecting her to be pretty horrible after reading the reviews but I found that she's pretty average and people just like to whine a lot. Just do the homework, take good notes and review them, and go to her office hours if you need help. Yes, she does grade tough on exams.
This professor is very smart and answers questions very clearly. Any question that is asked she answers by rewinding in her lesson and going over what she just taught, but in more depth. She has quite a whiny voice, but not too bad. Go to office hours. Shes very smart and passionate about math. Ignores off off-topic questions often.
I usually never write reviews but this one needs to be said. I'm a biology major so I know hard classes. I took simple calc one and it ate my GPA with a C. The lady doens't answer your questions, tells you to drop and just says "mmmkay?" at everything she does. If this is your first time with calc, AVOID HER.
I dont know what everyone is talking about. She is probably the most helpful professor at Rowan University. Her tests are super easy and she counts homework for 25% of your grade. She gives quizzes every week just to make sure you understand what the hell you're doing. If you dont understand something, just ask, shes amazing at answering questions
If you aren't great with math avoid weinstock, she tells you to drop the class after first exam. 50ish % class dropped. Doesn't explain clearly if you have questions.
There aren't many tests but the exams she gives you tend to be on the difficult side. Participation is a very small part of your grade. She's a very tough grader and her explanations of topics tend to be complicated.
I was very satisfied with the way she lectured: it wasn't "from the book" and it made sense. She broke most things down into first principles, which helps me out a lot. She gives partial credit for problems on tests; but she also "takes" partial credit: everything must be "exact." There must be no ambiguity, otherwise you lose partial credit.
She shows up and teaches but is not always very clear on explanation. She was not very helpful to me. She was not mean by any stretch but she was not clear enough.
Overall a very good professor. She teaches very formally, giving formal proofs and clear definitions for all the concepts she introduces. She explains everything in detail and provides great examples that go along with the concepts. Tests are much easier than the homework. Her only flaw is she's quite picky with test answers.
Avoid like the plague. 3 tests pretty much decide your grade in the class, it's impossible to get full credit on participation, and a very tough grader on tests. If you put in the effort, yes you can get the B, but don't expect the A even for the hardest of workers.
Your grade is determined by 3 exams (83%, the lowest-scoring one is 23%, the other 2 are 30%), 2 group projects (10%), & attendanceparticipation (7%). For each exam, you get a practice exam and can make an equation sheet. Her grading is nitpicky&you have to show all work. Helpful as far as answering questions and giving extensions.
Everyone I know fails calc with her. Her lectures are so fast. She overexplains the obviously easy stuff, and zooms through the hard stuff. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR. She's not worth your GPA or your time.
she is among the worst teachers I've ever had. She teaches math like its english, giving definitions of everything, with the most confusing wording. She skips calculations in the middle of class problem that I dont know how to do. Her tests are hard and she takes points off for things I wrote that aren't part of my work. Rather have 8 am on friday
She is a tough grader. Do not miss any class or you will behind. Expect homework every time. There are also group projects using mathematica.
Do NOT take her. Too many negative things to say and not enough characters. Trust me, take anyone but her.
Really good Calc teacher. A little difficult for her tests but getting am A is not hard on them.
worst teacher ever. chooses the hardest way to explain things. her study guides don't reflect her test, her tests are harder than study guides and she's a tough grader. her office hours are not helpful. tests are worth 80% of your grade so if math isn't your thing or you're new to calc, DONT TAKE HER!
Wasn't clear describing material at all. Was difficult to understand. Not a very good teacher at all.
I would not take again. Not very nice either, gets mad when you ask questions and about the syllabus. Tests are super hard and nothing like the homework or the review sheet given. Makes things very complicated when most stuff could be explained much easier. Doesn't care about your grade, don't take!
Just bad. Doesn't care about her students at all and grades super harshly
I had her for calc1 and calc2. Calc 1 will be easy if you took it in high school. Calc 2 was significantly harder. She is a very tough grader but is clear in her expectations. about 85% of your grade is tests. Do the homework and review problems - she takes almost exact problems from these and uses them for the tests. Definitely hard but good
Super tough grader, gives a grade based on how many times you go up to the board to do homework problems. Gives lots of quizzes but they don't count towards your grade, just to study. Grades are based on attendance, participation, and tests. Once told us she makes Calc 2 hard to weed out wannabe engineers. Also has an annoying voice.
She is honestly the worst teacher Ive ever had. Ive always been an honor student, but this lady... the absolute worst. Biggest struggle Ive encountered in college. She is terrible at explaining this and expects you to already know A LOT of things.
I don't leave ratings for all of my professors, but after seeing how low Dr. W's rating is I felt I had to. Took her for calc 1 and planned my whole second semester around getting her calc 2 section. Took calculus in high school and got a D then got an A in her class. Great lectures, clear, and goes over all questions. Would definitely take again
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. If you fail the exams, you fail the class. Dont like her style of teaching.
Professor Weinstock is a lovely woman who knows her stuff when it comes to math. I felt that her lectures were very straightforward as she goes through the material slowly and methodically making sure everyone understands. As long as you keep up with the homework and pay attention in lecture it shouldn't be a difficult class.
Weinstock was probably the best math teacher I've ever had. Her notes are amazing. Gives quizzes but they aren't graded, pretty much sample test questions - also gives test reviews. Graded very fairly, gave lots of partial credit. Open to office hours if you need extra help. The class does require a lot of work, but she is there to help. DO ALL HW
Learned absolutely nothing in class. Every class could have been a PowerPoint because I taught myself all of the material at home anyways. Weinstock is so old that she is just going through the motions of the lessons. She doesnt actually teach, just recited the lectures which we frantically copy down.
Prof Weinstock is a very good teacher. Her notes are very in depth. However, she moves at a fast pace, and her tests are difficult. If you like math, taking her should be no problem. However, if you struggle with Calc you are going to need to work hard to get a good grade.
Her lectures are straight forward/understandable just pay attention and take notes. Got D the 1st exam b/c I didn't study for it having other exams the same week. B/c I was actively answering questions and in class she advised me to stay. 2nd&3rd exams I moderately studied the homework and quiz questions that she gives in class ended with C overall
Do not take Weinstock's CALC2 unless you have already taken calc2 or like teaching yourself.
She only gives 3 tests and they are worth 85% of your final grade. She briefly went over things because she assumed you knew how to do it before hand. After the first test she recommended people to drop if they got below a 40%. Would never recommend
She isn't a bad teacher she just moves really quickly. Good for preparation for real life, making you memorize things that actually help in higher math classes. Tests are very hard though, and if you do not devote a lot of times to study or seek out extra help you probably wont get above a C
Although her notes were in depth, I found it very hard to learn in her class. After giving her my (very reasonable) accommodations for my disability, she began questioning me and embarrassing me in front of classmates. This stood out to me because most professors are usually caring. She knew her stuff but was not genuine which ruined my experience.
I loved Weinstocks class. The mathmatica projects were annoying. Make sure you study in this class, her notes are amazing! I did terrible in calc in highschool but Im most likely ending this semester with an A so I definitely recommend!
Weinstock has got the rep for being one of the worst calc profs. She definitely wasnt the horrors of mean-spiritedness people described but shes an elderly lady who has a super monotone voice and has no sympathy or care for students- esp slackers. Very boring. Optional HW, but dont cry when you fail her tests (uncurved) when u didnt do the work
Professor Weinstock really wasn't too enjoyable a professor. Her teaching style consists entirely of reading off pre-written notes, and she rarely goes through example problems. I feel like in-person instruction would have gone smoother, but that wasn't an option due to the pandemic.
Her voice is extremely monotone and never changes through her entire lecture, it is super hard to pay attention. Her lectures are the opposite of interacting, just a couple of examples and throws word soup at you for 75 minutes. She gives almost nothing to grade and takes forever to actually grade them. Just avoid this prof for anybody else.
Professor Weinstock was a very difficult professor. She graded things pretty harshly. Be prepared for your entire grade to rely on two tests. She did not exactly encourage students in a helpful way either.
All Professor Weinstock does is pull up pictures of notes and read them, which makes it very difficult to learn and stay focused during class. The mathematic project is also very frustrating, as she gives essentially no directions and expects you to know how to do it. Also, she grades pretty harshly w/ no curve. Dont take her if you dont have to.
