Very hard, great detail in lectures, really need to pay attention in her class if you want to pass. She's a farily new teacher, so she expects everyone to know all the basics before coming to her class, 131 was fairly easy but i've heard some things about 203, thats her major be careful...
At first she seems like a strict teacher, but she is not bad. Her lectures are helpful, but her test could be hard. If you take extra time to study you should do fine.
Fantastic teacher that will spend as much time helping outside of class time as necessary.
I had taken her class online and I thought her lecuture notes were very helpful. She was always there if you needed her to answer any questions. She would always walk around during labs to be sure everyone was doing them right. She was a great teacher, and I hope I get her for another class!!! She will teach you a lot!!!

she is really nice and helpful but she doesnt take any crap
She's an excellent teacher. She'll help her students during their quizzes and tests. Most of her quizzes are take home. You'll learn a lot in her class. She gives lot of examples and sometimes you can use them on your quizes. Labs are very easy. She'll check it over before you turn them in. She's an excellent teacher.
Did anyone take this class with her online?
She is great! Very hardm but fair and explains everything very well. Grades everything on time, will help you anytime outside of class.
I took Ewa's class online over the summer, and I thought her lecture notes were very good. If you read them and do some example HW problems you should do fine. She gives you more then enough time to take the tests, and quizzes. She will help you! Overall I thought she was a good teacher, and I am going to take her again for another class.
Great teacher, her notes are so good you dont even need to buy the book, heck she even tells you this the first week trust her she knows what shes doing. Best chem teacher to take. PS get on her good side and your set.
KNOWS HER STUFF, EXTREMELY GENEROUS WITH HER TIME IF YOU TRULY ARE TRYING AND NEED HELP. THE SUBJECT IS DIFFICULT SO COME PREPARED TO CLASS. QUIZZES AND TEST ARE FAIR BUT NOT EASY IF YOU HAVE NOT STUDIED.
SHE KNOWS HER STUFF.... GIVES GREAT NOTES.. I DID GREAT IN HER CLASS.. BUT MAN... WHATTA ****... JUST TRY TO GET ON HER GOOD SIDE AND YOUR GOOD
First of all, Organic II is the hardest class ever, but She makes it not as bad. 2 of our 4 exams ended up being take home. If the whole class begs for a take home,or an exam extension, she will do it. Very willing to help you. You must get on her good side, and you are fine. Labs bring your grade up, because she gives everyone A's on them.
Ok, this teacher has great ratings. She is pretty nice if u talk to her personally but she is very tuff, very. Her lectures are light-speed. Her excuse for all this is that her university teacher was tuff on her (ya but in unversities u get a student aid to help u). I got on her good side and she likes me, but others eh. Shes not ur best choice
This class is hard, but the way she teaches it is very good. She really helps those who try and want to do good. She'll only help if she knows you are trying. She is nice, so don't get on her bad side. I passed with an A in the class!!! AND I DID learn something from the class.
Amazing teacher, and she's hilarious. Trsut me she's not a joker, but she'll make evil and cruel comments that are actually funny. She devotes so much time to students, she it clear on what's on quizes and tests. Tests are really not hard...if you study of course. in the first week go to her after class for help, gets you on her good side. luck!
She teaches well, and not that hard to understand. Helpful, and nice most of times. Can't really complain about her. I don't know what yall ppl talkin about. I would take her again, if i have a choice.
Awesome teacher, and her jokes are funny though some might misconstrue. Labs are easy, get a good partner, no extra credit but tests are easy if you study. and she has online prastice tests, very helpfull. many times you'll get out of class early and no classes other times. Overall great. take her if you like a fast pace teacher
Being the I dropped the course the previous semester I can say that there are worse chemistry teachers than her. I have a hard time with chemistry so I worked my butt off. I did bad on two tests and pulled off with a B! I just needed to stop second guessing myself. She does go psycho. She is very uptight.
She is a good teacher, gives a lot of extra credit, and labs are easy. we got out after like an hour in a 3 hour class. tests are hard and confusing, but with extra credit its not bad
CHM-131 online was great. She was always there to help, and her notes are great! If you do the HW and you do the labs/quizzes you should do fine! CHM-203 is a hard class, and you have to work very hard to do well. She helps as much as she can, but a lot of time needs to be put into the class. If you work hard, study, and do the HW you will be fine!
She is a great teacher... She explain everything very clearly.. She is very helpful and her notes are wonderful. If u study and do the problems from the practise exam u will have an A 4 sure... For the final she gives execly the same problems as she gave on the previous exams. She is awasome :) but u have to come to the class !
She wolf of the chemistry department. Will stick her fangs in you faster than a tarantula on speed.
She isn't that nice of a person... she's a good teacher but thats it... the class is hard and you have to honestly put some effort... but take Christenson instead shes very rude when asking a question she talks down to you as though ur supposed to already know the answer dont dare to stare directly into her eyes you WILL be turned into stone
Great teacher, very helpful if you ask for it. Has a genuine enthusiasm for what she does. Does not tolerate goofing off. Participate, do what you are supposed to do and you'll do well.
OMG!!! terrible teacher, i got A's and understood all previous chm's but still did bad in 203. i hear she's ok for lower level chm's.
Notes are great, she helps if you ask, stays after class and will work with u!SHe is very nice and funny, knows her stuff, puts lecture notes on the website and gives you practice tests. Just come to class, take good notes and u'll be fine. Don't take Christanson for organic!SHe makes mistakes on the board, students correct her and she gets MAD!
She is technically a good teacher (notes, tests, etc.) but I found her constant complaining about the inadequacies of the American school system, hypocrisy over tardiness, and her complete lack of excitement or connection to her students to be both irritating and detrimental to the class. She acts as if she's gracing you with her presence.
She's a great teacher. Answers all questions until the whole class understands, gives handouts and tests are absed on lecture notes. Knows her stuff and doesn't even use the book, just her own notes. She helps in the lab and stays with you after class if you need help. If you put in the time you'll do well. She is strict and expects you to study.
If u study material ahead of lecture, u'll do fine. If chem isn't ur strong pt, u can use the tutoring center regularly. Textbk/calculator @ library if needed. Hope ur class will be as fun as mine! :) Only plan on skipping class or being late if u own a time machine. Ewa loves dogs, has 2. Consider bringing one for moral support during lecture.
she is really a great teacher and I recommend every one to take her... i got A in her class
She is a good teacher but definitely talks down to students. She is late every day but would not tolerate that from a student. Also always keeps the class late like our time is not important. Very condescending. Also she doesn't seem excited about the class at all. She gives good lectures/notes but she is not very patient.
I read through a lot of the comments. She is a good teacher when she remains focused on the lecture material. She does a lot of complaining about our school system and then whines about how tough it was where she's originally from. She also had significant attendance issues, but gave students grief when they were late. DO NOT GET ON HER BAD SIDE
Ewa is a great teacher. She knows her material and expects you to do the same. Her teaching skills are insane (good). She is very lenient on putting equations on the test for you. She wants you to know how to do it vs. remembering the equation alone. I liked her tons! DONT GET ON HER BAD SIDE! I REPEAT DO NOT GET ON HER BAD SIDE!!
Great teacher. Only have her for lab. Very helpful. I have a psycho lady for lecture and Ewa is a breath of fresh air. She is helping me even though I'm not in her lecture. Have a lot of respect for her but I am on her good side. Be friendly and courteous and she will love u!
Ewa is a fantastic teacher! She explains everything so well u don't really need a book.Had us practice mechanisms in groups before the tests, which helped me a lot.She lectures without using any notes, really knows her stuff.Shes funny;understood when I had family problems and missed class, explained stuff to me in her office.I wish she'd teach 204!
She is a fantastic teacher. I only had her for lab but she was very helpful with lecture material. If you are a whiney baby who needs to be center of attention or believe you deserve an A just because you show up, DROP OUT OF SCHOOL.
I took the online class, she made it as easy as possible! As long as you read the lecture notes and do the problems you can do well on the quizes and exams. She gives extra credit that helps too. She knows her stuff, she lectures w/o notes, and is very helpful and understanding. I liked her class very much! She is very easy to talk to.
Ewa made this class easy and fun.I truly enjoyed her style of teaching and her class.Would higly recommend her.Attendance is a must, lots of material.Handouts helped me a lot.
It's orgo - not going to be easy no matter who teaches it, but this lady knows her stuff! She goes out of her way to help you succeed and also makes a point of getting to know everyone and their educational goals. Highly recommended.
I didn't take class with her but I needed CHEM 131 syllabus to get my CHEM 131 credit from MVCC evaluated at USF. I had emailed all CHEM professors at USF and she responded to my email within half hour with syllabus attached to it. Thanks, Ms. Fredette. :)
She knows her material very well. The book is not needed, especially if you remember Chem from high school. Exams are extremely straightforward and easy, if you pay attention in class. As a person, don't really like her, she calls students out on things in front of whole class, she doesnt seem to like ppl and talks too much about her dog.
She gave good notes- that's one good thing I can say. I didn't need to buy the book- that's 1 more good thing! She moved through the material VERY quickly and since my brain doesn't have it's own "chemistry" area, it took some time to process. She is moody (that's putting it nicely!) and at times arrogant and demeaning...so, if you're into that...
HORRIBLE TEACHER!! acts like you're stupid when you ask a question and expects you to know everything already. notes are good but she goes over them very fast. she thinks she is gods gift to chemistry... do not take her unless its your last option!!!
Her class filled up fast so I ended up taking her online class. I've never taken an online class before and thought her's was every good. Never bought the book, her notes were very thorough, explains everything well when you need help. She gives extra credit every week. I enjoyed having her as a teacher, I would take her again.
I loved her class!! great quality teacher, explains everything well and helps u when u need it.Wish she teach 132, will definitely take her for orgo!
Ms Fredette is an awesome Chemistry teacher and I would highly recommend her online Chem 1 course. She has EXCELLENT notes which are far more comprehensible than the textbook. She allows for extra credit every week for which I would highly recommend because it help extremely on the weekly quizzes.
I would recommend taking her online class. Her notes were very well organized and extremely helpful. Pay attention to the quizes because they will help you when it comes time to take the exam. Also do the extra credit, it will help for the exams as well. She is VERY helpful and makes sure her students understand.
Great teacher, gives great notes and explains them very well so you don?t need the book, test are very fair if you study, Explains the labs which helps a lot, gives group work, and always is willing to help by email, you will learn a lot
for 132 she was good 230 she went way to fast and the class didn?t really understand the material, we were 3 chapters a head of the other class and by the end of the semester she toke 4 days off and we still were a head of them, explained the material after tests which was pointless, Labs were ok, need the book, I would take Christensen
Had her for 131, her notes, w/s,practice exams made it easy to get an A. Took her for 203,speeds thru lecture and doesn't clarify key points, barely gives handouts or w/s, shows one ex. of each mechanism that she works out herself and expects you to master it by the exam!so if u learn by jsut wacthing her fill in w/s's all lecture knock urself out!
I took the class online...when we did meet I was confused during her lectures...labs didnt relate to lecture at all.
everything is hot about this teacher, if you dont like chemistry she can be eye candy, very helpful, her notes were good enough to study and get A
She goes very fast. You will think that you are in a honors class. She doesn't answer questions.
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR ORGANIC!!! you've been warned. i took her because she had great reviews, but she sped through lecture, did not answer questions and is terrible at explaining. Also the toughest grader I've ever had. she takes points off for everything. absolutely terrible.
She is very nice and shows lots of examples to the problems. Easy to get a B or Higher if you study the notes. She loves her dog Ernie, so gets off topic to talk about him. LOL
She is a horrible professor. Very unorganized she makes up rules that she can't even keep up with. She refers to americans as being dumb. If it wasn't for this country she wouldn't be teaching. When I ask her questions she tells me to figure it out on my own. She yells at people if they're answer is wrong but believes we should learn on our own.
I hated her organic class so much. It was near impossible, and Chemistry has always been my strong point. Ewa doesn't really teach, she just does problems at the board and expects you to understand them. I felt lost the whole semester, and she antagonizes students, and literally tells them they are stupid for asking questions Try To Get CHRISTANSEN
It was an easy B for me, i had A/B going into the final, but really messed up on the multiple choice. Can get an easy A or B if you study her notes and book. Not an easy class, have to do lts of problems at home, but hey it's orgo for you. if are a whiny baby, it's not a class for you!
she should not be a teacher, she doesn't take questions, she belittles students, she doesn't teach, all she cares about is her dog ernie, who according to her is smarter than her dumb american students. worst.class.experience.ever. Definitely get christansen if you can
Worst teacher I have ever had. I don't mean to be rude but she was awful, definitely belittles you. She doesn't take question and was not helpful. She said the tutoring center was there if you had questions, she should not be teaching!
Ok here it is, I have been going to moraine for 2 years now and have never yet dropped any class. I am still in here class, but it is very likely that I will drop it, it will be a first to me. She goes over lecture very fast. She does not like to be asked questions. Winey and always complain about the U.S. education system, its system of measure
Great professor, I wish I had her fro chm204.I'm in a night class now and what a difference between Ewa and who I have now.She is a fantastic teacher and very helpful.I still go to her for help now even thouh I'm not technically in her class any more.
Definitely not the easiest teacher. You can't slack at all or it'll come back to you.I also agree with the comments below that says she belittles people. She basically puts you on the spot in front of the entire class and if you don't know the answer she will sometimes make a mean comment. tends to embarrass people. Lots of studying is a must.
I got my B and I'm sooo happy!Yes, I worked my butt off but it was wel worth it!Ms. Fredette is super nice and helpful and funny.I wish i took 131 and 131 with her. Thank you ms. Fredette for a great class!!!
Awesome teacher. Willing to explain things. She wants you to come to class, which isn't a horrible thing to ask
she is very helpfull and smart really knows her stuff! easy a is you attend class and study for the test. the test are easy and if you study the notes then you pass personally she helped me allot always responded fast to my emails and answered all my questions. the only people who wine about her are the lazy people who don't want to do any work
She is much, much better than the night organic instructor. Explains everything step by step and answers questions to make sure everyone understands what's going on. Awesome teacher and funny and nice. Highly recommend her!
Gosh, I was so scared to take this class and now I love it. Ms Fredete is so nice and explains everything so well. This is a reapet for me, so I really apreciate how well she teaches it. Simply great professor!
Chemistry was never my strong suit, but she made it interesting and easy to understand! She's an incredibly gifted and smart lady - one of the brightest professors I've ever had (and I graduated from a 4-year college). Very caring to her students. DO the extra credit! Keep up with the work and pay attention in class. No reason you shouldn't do good
Very easy! She explains everything thoroughly and if u miss a class she's helpful and answers emails immediately! Only thing that is negative is that she makes people look dumb and singles people out in front of the entire class when you do one minor thing wrong, impatient!
Before the semester had begun I was a little worried about this chem class, seeing how it was my first semester at mvcc..but Ewa is a VERY GOOD teacher. You can tell she knows her stuff and always makes sure that everyone is understanding what she is explaining. Chem 131 is a repeat of highschool chem so this class should at least jog your memory!
this is not some blow off class you will have to work! i took her online class and regret not putting enough effort into it chemistry is a breeze for me and i did not do my best..she is extremly helpful and puts her self out there..if you do a mistake she will single u out she is a very cool teacher and so hot!!! ;) she needs a bf! lol
This teacher is extremely helpful if you dont understand the material she goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. As long as you go to class especially before exam and study you will get a good grade out of this class
Very nice woman! Responds to e-mails quickly. Took her online class - did very well! I recommend her 100% for CHM 131!
She is a good teacher BUT rushes through lecture. SOMETIMES, If you have questions she answers you like you dont know anything, it depends on how she's feeling. Some days she's nicer than others. She posts lecture notes online but its extremely recommended you go to class. If you take her class its also recommened to STUDY FOR HER TESTS good luck
Ms. Fredette is a good professor. Her teaching methods are not for those who want to be spoon fed the material. Can be rude and impatient at times, but overall she is very helpful. Tests and labs are easy. Easy A if you study.
Ms. Fredette was, thus far, my best instructor here at Moraine (my second semester). She is very impressive not just because she knows her chemistry, but she's great in explaining science, grammar, and pretty much anything you ask her like qudratic equations lol. She gave me better, more detailed comments and my lab reports than my COM teacher!
best chemistry teacher Ive ever had. Took her for chem 1 and came to sxu and everything she taught me in chem 1 I already knew for chem 2
She explains lab very easy and clear. She even shows you how to do the lab so it's very quick for us to finish the lab and leaves, helpful with question and gives answers when needed with hard ones. Overall for lab & for taking the exam in lab..overall recommend her! She is an extreamly nice lady but if you text she can become very "rough" at you.
By far the best professor I've ever had. Great sense of humor and personality, makes the class interesting and fun, and WANTS her students to succeed and learn. She gives one take home test as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Ewa is great, by far the best professor I had at moraine. Knows her stuff, good at explaining material one on one if you need help. Definitely recommend her. Attendance and good notes a must if you want a good grade.
Ewa is amazing at explaining the material and getting the point across. One of the best teachers I've EVER had!!! As long as you attend class and keep up with the studying, the class is a peice of cake. Highly recommended!!!
She is a great and highly qualified professor. She doesn't baby her students and will make sure that they actually learn something. Beware of cellphone usage in class, because she will call you out. You've gotta work hard to get the good grade in her class.
I panicked cuz class was full, but someone dropped and she let me in. just transferred from another class which was horrible! Ms Fredette actually teaches and writes problems on the board, doesn't read power points thank god!!! I need good grade for my program. Heard good things from my friend, will keep my fingers crossed. So far, very helpful.
Had Ewa for 203, now taking orgo ii. She prepares you well and I feel confident, so far I understand everything. I liked her teaching style more, my instructor just reads off the slides. So go to class and take good notes. She's brilliant and sometimes talked over our heads lol. She chucks pts for spelling, grammar and cell phone so be warned!
She's tough that's for sure. She won't baby you, but you'll learn at the univ. level. For me, that's better than my other pof treating us like we're back in junior high. surviving my first orgo test tells me I'm ready for pharm school.
ONE WORD CANNOT DESCRIBE HER! Be prepared for every week 5-7 page typed pre labs, rewriting that again to lab notebook,4 hour labs and still run out of time to finish lab, long post labs on top of all learn by yourself organic chemistry. Not helpful, very impatient, picky, rude, offending. Be careful when choosing your classes.
Fredette is one of the toughest teachers you will encounter, but she is the best definition of a college professor. You have to work hard, keep up and pay attention. It is still possible to get a good grade in her class though. Even though people say shes rude, she means the best for us as students. Its just some people cant take jokes.
Loved Ewa! Her tests were very easy and you can use a cheat sheet on all of them. She is very good at explaining the material and really knows what she's talking about. She has a thick polish accent but it's not too hard to understand her most of the time. I would highly recommend taking her.
She makes it impossible to get a B keep in mind chem is my strong point very rude emotional outbursts told me to stop talking to classmates when i dont know anybody and was dead silent calls students stupid isnt organized very forgetful exams are opposite of what she tells us to study
Im chem major hated this class worst chem teach ever her time is not organized and we stay after class hours very rude takes off points for the littlest things and by little I mean little! gives barely any points she believes its extremely hard for students to get a B in her class take this class to fail i worked hard
Get ready to learn on your own she doesnt explain things clearly and she isnt clear about what she wants you to do with assigments shes tough lots of work
brilliant and very caring towards her students. She really wants to make sure her students understand the material. She cares if you do.P.S. don't cheat because she hates cheaters
Professor Fredette is a wonderful person. Smart, and organized, she cares about her students. She is strict but she tries to prepare you for the future. Trust me, it'll help in the long run.Students from organic chemistry are not satisfied with her heavy work, they will eventually understand how well that prepares them for university level classes.
Professor Fredette is a wonderful person. Smart, and organized, she cares about her students. She is strict but she tries to prepare you for the future. Trust me, it'll help in the long run. Especially if you are going to a university.
Ewa did a wonderful job explaining the material and was truly interested in the students benefit. Never used the book and overall very easy class.
Professor Fredette REALLY knows how to teach. She cares about how her students are doing overall. Just don't waste her time with stupid questions, because she'll skip you. Make sure you STUDY the notes she gives you. It helps BIG time. P.S. She is good at catching cheaters. I recommend her as she will prepare you well for the University.
I really enjoyed this class. Ewa Fredette really cares about the well being of her students and she wants you all to pass. She made chemistry seem so simple.
I like chem!!!
Took her at the worst time. Had personal issues going on and was all over the place. Brutal with lab report grades 10 pts off for every mistakes and handwriting .Dropped it because we werent being lectured properly later found out she was a different person after resolving her issues. she was actually lecturing and gave out freebies.
She is great! Very clear and always willing to help!
This class was fairly easy.
If you ask her a question, she will basically tell you how stupid you are and not even answer your question. Can't understand her with her accent and her handwriting is chicken scratch. Very unhelpful. She took points off my quiz because I wrote "too small". Honestly the most rude, unhelpful, and arrogant teacher I've ever had. Do not take her!!!!
Very good teacher, but lectures take the whole time and there is no extra credit in the class. YOU DO NOT NEED THE TEXTBOOK! Labs were 5-7 pages in total and u have to be as specific as possible. Overall shes not a bad teacher as many would say and i would definitely recommend her over other organic chemistry teachers.
She was one of the most inspiring science professor I've ever had. I was dreading coming into Organic 2, but after she started teaching I felt a lot more comfortable because she was so clear-cut about what we needed to know and what we didn't. If you don't put in the worst you wont pass with a C. If you want help, she's ALWAYS in her office to help
Took her over the summer for two months. I had her for 4 weeks and another teacher for the last 4 weeks. Even though the second teacher had a Doctorate, Fredette was way better; I honestly don't know why students complain about her. Few labs were difficult, but she was very willing to help. There were online quizzes similar to the tests given.
She is VERY tough. She is very picky about every single detail and really dives deep into the material. You have to follow exactly how she lectures and outlines in labexams otherwise you will get points off everything. She is very fast, DO NOT SKIP CLASS. Get on her good side otherwise you are in trouble. You have to spend hours on studying.
I took the hybrid class this summer. We met for lectures and lab, then took our quizzes and tests online at home. The lectures are long but she is willing to stop to help if someone is not understanding. Tests and quizzes are done online at home! I would suggest everyone to take the hybrid course! She offers extra credit, do it! It helps!
Overall good teacher. Other than her dealing with personal issues, she was overall a caring professor. She does care about her students passing, but as she told me your grade is in your own hands. I do recommend studying a lot, especially if chemistry does not come easy to you, and to take the practice exams online. Book was not used.
Very intelligent. Very clear in her lectures, good teacher. Will definetly prepare you for the higher courses. She is picky about the calculations you have to do (labeling units, sig-figs, rounding). Treats you like an adult unless you act immature. Makes you work for your grade, but I learned alot. I'll be taking her again.
Took hybrid 131 and it's the easiest class ever. I've taken chemistry in high school and CHM 111 at a different school. You take all of the quizzes and tests at home with some having multiple attempts, so you can double check the answers. She explains well and we didn't do very many labs. I would totally recommend!
Do not take this class. You want to be embarressed for asking questions, have vague labs and leave class feeling worthless because of insults throw at your work in front of the class? Then, by all means this class will be perfect for you. More time spent ridiculing students then teaching.
She is an amazing professor! i took the hybrid course, and it was very easy to keep up with. All quizzes and tests are online, sometimes with 2 attempts. In class she does a brief lecture over all the material and makes sure we all understand it. She goes over labs and always helps if you ask her. She is honestly a great teacher, i recommend her.
This class bored me but easy. She's an OK teacher, kind of harsh to students. Such easy labs. Most tests were either take home or you're able to use a 'cheat sheet,' 8 by 11" front & back. Went through A LOT of material during lecture. Has an accent, makes her a little hard to understand. If you understand notes & do practice problems, you're good.
Very strong woman, a real role model. Took her orgo I,now taking orgo II. She knows and explains orgo very well and demands detailed answers on tests. I took her chem131 as well and loved her! It was easier because Im very good at math:-) She will spend time with you for as long as it takes and won't give up on you! She doesn't allow cell use!!
Fredette is the sweetest and nicest teacher I have ever had at Moraine! She is an amazing teacher and cares so much about her students. I highly recommend taking her hybrid class, EASY A. Do not hesitate taking her she's the best, you will not regret it!
Awesome, amazing professor! Really enjoys teaching chemistry and explains lecture very throughly in power points and always replies to emails super quick! She recommends the lecture book but understands that everyone is on a budget and has them available online. Mandatory lab but you only meet around 8 times in the semester! Highly recommend her!
She is an amazing teacher. EASY A!! she tries to help the students out Luvvvvvv her!!
One of my FAVORITE teachers. I suck at chemistry but she is amazing! Great notes, emails right away, & constantly made sure we understood lectures. Everything is online with multiple attempts. No book just lab. She wants everyone to pass & makes that possible. Super caring, sweet, and inspirational. Hard not to get an A. Taking her again for 132.
Don't get me wrong she isn't a horrible teacher. But chm203 is a tough class I worked my but off everyday, her lectures are confusing she does not explain and give good reasoning. Very very long lectures and after the first hour everyone got lost bc she wouldn't stop. She is veery hard on grading but plus side for her she cancels class a lot.
Great teacher! I took her for the hybrid class and it was a pretty easy A. show up to the very few classes, pay attention, and ask questions. She's super caring snd will help with anything you need.
I took professor fredette because i heard many good things about her, that is until i actually took her. Lets just say i walked out of her class knowing nothing. It wasn't just me with this problem 90% of the class had the same issue. She just simply does not know how to teach. The biggest mistake of my life was taking Orgo with her. Don't take her
She is by far my favorite teacher. I'm so upset that she's not teaching orgo next semester!! I took the hybrid class and you only had to show up about 6 times and all of those times were labs. She's always available for questions. Offers extra credit too.
Instructor cares for her students and respects them, gives extra points for solved at home problems. Whenever asked even a dumb question instructor will answer and explain the topic. She gives two chances for each quiz and test on line. If you study, then you can EASILY get the best grade. I would take her again.
Fredette is a caring woman who wants her students to do very well. I took 132 as a hybrid course and passed with an A. Labs were easy to follow along with and she talks to each student indiv in her office for participation. Her tests difficult af. Gives practice exams similar to tests but you need to teach yourself the info before taking them.
orgo is not easy no matter which teacher you take it with unless there is a professor that doesn't teach it all but Mrs fredette teaches you right and prepares you for the MCAT that's why she is slightly tough on grading but you get a cheat sheet on every test which can boost you to a B easily if you write everything down on it but she is amazing
Simple she is the best teacher ever I strongly recommend her.
Took the hybrid class. Labs were extremely easy & she was always willing to help. Practice exams were given two weeks prior to exam and they are similar to actual exams, except numbers are changed. Up to five extra credit points were given for each exam. Read one chapter per week and you will be fine.
She's an amazing teacher and really cares about each student progress in the class. Easy online class and is very fast at answering emails and fixing any issues you may run into. Would love to take her again!
This was a pretty clear-cut class: the lecture notes were usually posted a week in advance (if she forgets simply email her), lectures/practice exams sufficiently prepare you for exams, and quizzes are online and simple. I would definitely recommend her, especially for those who plan on taking higher level chemistry classes in the future.
Great teacher! Chem is hard but she gives great notes from lectures and provides examples. Extra credit is also offered throughout the semester. She is very understanding and kind hearted! While I do not personally like chemistry, I think Mrs. Fredette makes the class easier to understand. She is truly compassionate about her students!
I took the hybrid class over the summer for four weeks and it was much easier than I expected. As long as you look at the lecture notes and follow the practice exams, you'll pass the class with an A. The labs were fairly easy and we were able too have two tries on all quizzes. I would definitely recommend taking as she is a brilliant teacher.
I took her chem131 course she was very nice and all, but when i took her chem132 she's very tough strict. of course she doesn't lecture specially her hybird class you would have to go through her power point and through the course.
I took this teacher for my COL 101 course. It was a very easy class with the opportunity for an extra credit. Do papers on time, do not forget about quizzes, and look on the canvas almost everyday. When you do all of these things you will get an A.
I took Ms. Fredette for COL101 over the summer semester. Easy A as long as you do what is expected of you.
The four week summer hybrid class with Fredette was rough, but Fredette made it much easier. All the quizzes and tests were online, so we could use our notes and the labs were relatively easy. If you study the material, you'll pass with an A,
Soo mean, you don't want to take her, very strict!
I took COL101 online over summer. COL101 is an easy course, over summer though, required a lot of "busy" work. Ms. Fredette was great and responded promptly if you emailed. I would definitely take her again.
Ms Fredette its very nice and pleasure lady, easy A, test are hard, but she will give you practice test before the test and the questions are very similar are on a test. I will take her I will definitely take her again for Organic Chemistry.
Professor Fredette is truly amazing I don't even know where to start I took Ch 131 with Ms Fredette before and I loved it I took Ch 132 with Ms Fredette and I loved it even more Ms Fredette explains the material clearly She wants you to succeed and understand the material She is very patient I recommend taking her and you won't regret it
I took Fredette's hybrid class for both CHM 131 and 132. One of the best professors I've had at moraine. As long as you show up and try for experiments you should do fine. Test are pretty hard though, be prepared to study a lot.
Amazing professor I truly loved her! She truly cares about her student and wants to help as much as she can. She should not be rated anything lower than a 5.0. I will forever have her as one of my favorite teachers at moraine!
Orgo is a hard class, and Im glad I took it with her. Shes a great teacher. Very strict and gives rules bcuz she preapres us for mcat or pcat. Bcuz orgo is a serious class. Even though u feel like she could be mean but its for us to learn, shes a caring person in the end. Entered crying in that class, left smiling goodbye to her. An easy grader
Having taken her General Chemistry course, I can say that Ewa Fredette is a great, knowledgeable, caring instructor who knows her subject well and wants her students to get good grades. She puts herself out to make sure lectures get done and students understand the material. Ewa Fredette is firm but in a kindly way that shows her caring nature.
I took Fredette for CHEM131 and CHEM203 and she's hands down the best science professor at moraine. She'll help you anytime you ask and will explain the material until everybody understands it. Gives practice exams, which I personally adore and not everybody does that! Fredette is the best! She's strict, but actually does the teaching.
Literally the sweetest person ever. I took Fredette for 131 & 132. As long as you put in the time and effort, you should get the grade you want. Exams are fair, there are practice exams similar to them. She is always happy to help. I was upset she wasn't teaching orgo. Take her class, you won't regret it!
horrible teacher. all her tests are take home which is great but if she doesnt like your work she'll give you a 0 on the test and wont even give you half points. if she doesnt like you then she'll grade your labs lower than the grade you actually deserve
she is one of the best teachers ever. she takes more than enough time to go over all the material and explain everything. she is very understanding and willing to help you no matter what. People might think she is strict, but she is not. she is training her students for harder classes. She gives opportunities for xtra credit highly recommend!
The professor was great, but I have to say that the behavior of certain group of students at Moraine wouldnt cut it at my school. I was shocked at how disrespectful and outright arrogant they were to this professor, not to mention all the cheating that they did. The professor handled them the best she could, but I thought she would cry at times!
I picked her based off of her RMP ratings but they're not accurate. Her testsare no longer online because people were cheating, so just know that. If she doesn't like you, she will deduct points for no reason. She comes off as nice but beware. Does not explain material; makes you learn everything yourself at home. Take anyone else that you can!
I took Professor Fredette for a 4 week chemistry class and she is very caring. She really wants you to know the material. She is fair and helpful. Her tests are pretty straightforward so there is no need to cheat. If I needed another chemistry class I would definitely take her. She is a great person and she is really interested in her students
Shes a good teacher i took the hybrid class. So you show up for labs and everything else is online. All of our test and finals were on canvas. If you can teach your self the material then take her hybrid class. I liked her so much even though shed pick on me (jokingly) im taking her for orgo. Shes nice as long as youre not lazy.:)
I took CHM 132 with her and she is amazing. Her tests are hard but shes a great professor.
This was the hardest calls I ever took, but I feeel toughened up for pCAT and pharmacy classes if i get in lol. She helped me one on one because the material was very demanding. She is super sweet if you dont cheat and are rude to her right in front the whole class (certain student, Im looking at you smh). Take lots of notes, read the slides, and
Professor Fredette is tough but she truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. She puts all her notes online, which is helpful. You really have to put in the work in this class, but if you take it seriously, an A is totally possible. In the end I felt grateful to have had her as my orgo teacher.
I took her for Chem 131, her class is very boring she takes the class so serious which is good but she does not make it fun at all. class drags and is very hard she wants everything to be perfect wouldnt take her again.
great teacher 131-350 hybrid only on campus for lab, but she would review the material with us.. had a few review packets, but nothing you couldn't do if you paid attention. Great online notes never needed the book. All you have to do is pay attention and you can get an A. Lab is short no phones. pay attention. Wonderful lady if you pay attention
Ms. Fredette has been one of the most caring professors I've ever had at Moraine Valley. She really wants to see her students succeed and never gives up on them. She's also very accessible &always answered my questions within hours of me reaching out. She's no pushover, but if you work hard and show that you're trying she will make sure you suceed
Great Professor. Took the fast paced course and she explained topics very thoroughly. Very specific and a tough grader but gives students a chance to redeem themselves by either redoing the project or through extra credit.
I took Fredettes CHM131 summer course and it was really rough. Her grading is very picky, but if you ask her what she wants, she will tell you. She is a little nonchalant, but she does have a heart when it comes to students and their circumstances. Just communicate with her ESPECIALLY if you miss.
Ms. Fredette is a very tough grader, she does not like to answer questions, and if she doesn't like you, she will deduct a lot of points for no reason. I needed this class for the summer. I barely passed this class and I'm a person with passion for chemistry. I will never take her again!
It's a hard class (because it's chemistry) but she gives you every chance to succeed and tells you exactly what her expectations are. I took this as a 4 week course over the summer and I would recommend it. She doesn't assign the homework for a grade, instead she gives you it and the a practice test to do at home, followed by an answer key.
Although she is a pretty strict professor, she's honestly really caring. Follow directions and you'll pass. I was having difficulty until I personally went and spoke to her, after that she was the most compassionate person ever. You just have to communicate with her. She has no problem answering your questions
Ewa Fredette misses a lot of laboratories which are mandatory to pass the class. She says she has health problems, but I just want to pass the class. She gets substitutes sometimes, but always holds the class responsible for the work she missed teaching us. I managed to get a B with lots of help from a chemist at home. Most students failed.
Fredette is honestly a really good teacher. She seems very scatterbrained sometimes. Tests are similar to the practice exams she hands out. You do a lot of notes at home but she does go over stuff the next class day. Really prepares you for a future in pharm or medicine (MCAT & PCAT). Wont baby you, but takes time to answer any questions.
Ewa does not convey the material properly. Depending on how her week went, that will determine the level of difficulty on the exam. Do not recommend. For any level class.
Very particular with exams; deducts 2 points for every missing unit. decimal, etc. I do not recommend: she calls off when she is overstressed and becomes unavailable during office hours.
Do not take this teacher, you have been warned. She is not "caring" to what previous comments say. Towards the end of the semester- when it gets close to filling out her rating surveys- she will oddly super nice and keep asking to please take her classes in the future semesters (which you shouldn't!)
This professor is horrible and her Awesome reviews are lies. I think she is rating herself and giving the awesome ratings to herself. I'm in Pharmacy school now and I did not learn the chemistry I needed to know from Ewa Fredette. I'm lucky I took CHM 204 from another teacher and learned some Organic Chemistry before coming to Pharmacy school.
Worst professor. Should have had a disclosure statement along the lines of : Please do not sign up for this class if you plan on being sick because you will not be allowed to attend. Unavailable via email. Switches offices hours a lot. Terrible.
I started the semester lost. Chemistry wasnt clicking with me. I finally went to Prof Fredette's office hours. She patiently went over 4 weeks of material with me, until I got it. She inspired me to work hard and enjoy chemistry. Fredette is tough, but funny. She wants to help. If you work for it, you will have a solid foundation in chemistry.
I'm in my third year of Dental School and my friend asked me to check out Ewa Fredette on RateMyProfessor. I took CHM 203 from her 3 years ago and she was horrible. Ewa said I was cheating because I got "A" on her tests. I used a tutor teacher to learn the material because she taught me nothing. She was always sick and cancelled class a lot.
The only reason people sign up for her class is because the tests are mainly take home since she is always calling off for class. Dont take her for this reason because she will make it impossible for you to get an A unless you seek outside tutoring. I barely passed, she is rude if you dont know the answer and will tell you to search in own...
Idk what people who reviewed are her on, but she is the best teacher I have had. She is very passionate about her job, and is always there to help. She never once cancelled class and was always accessible during her office hours. The class is lecture heavy, but if you put in the work you'll be fine. As long as you respect her, she'll respect you.
I don't know where all the bad comments are coming from, but I am assuming that they are all fake and are coming from one student who is trying to ruin Professor Fredette's wonderful reputation. Professor Fredette is an absolute gem, she is very passionate about what she does and cares for all her students and she is always available for them.
Fredette is a great professor, I can see why people think her class is hard, but its chemistry. You really have to be dedicated and have time set aside to get an A in her class but it isnt impossible. Overall I think the reviews on her are a little dramatic, she really isnt a bad professor. My best class definitely isnt chem but I passed with an A.
She's a very good teacher who defiantly wants her students to succeed. If you show up, pay attention, are not on your phone, she will see that and respect you for that. For questions I would always e-mail her and she usually would get back to me within an hour or I would ask after class. She was always very helpful. A lot of studying is needed.
Dr. Ewa Fredette is a great professor. She truley understnads what she is teaching. If you just want to get an A without actually learning anything, find a differnet professor. But if you plan on pursuing a science based career, such as pharmcy or medicne, she will definitely give you a good foundation in chemistry. Her classes are not an easy A.
Ms. Fredette was an extremely helpful teacher. She knows what she is doing and used class time well. She gives tons of packets with problems, that you go over in class with her as notes. She can seem a little harsh but most of the time the people she is more rude too are the ones slacking off. Shes the reason I understand chemistry.
Shes a great professor and Im horrible in chemistry, I definitely recommend taking her hybrid class
Prof. Fedette deserves a higher rating. I dont understand these negative feedbacks being said about her. I took her CHM 131 and 132 both hybrid. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER. She wants you to do good. Lectures may be a lot to read with practice problems its college level so if this bothers you then maybe you arent college ready. She is the best!
I loved Professor Fredette so so so much! Her online section was VERY organized. She can be tough sometimes but she really cares about her students! Super sweet and you can tell that she loves what she does (:
Professor Fredette has been nothing but wonderful with every student! She is incredibly thoughtful! Not only does she lending a helping hand in class, but outside too. I took Chem-131 & 132 with Professor Fredette and I wouldn't want anyone else! She provides her students with everything possible from lectures to labs. She is the absolute best!
She is not that bad from my experience. Thankfully, I never had any trouble with her and she would quickly email you back if you have any questions. Her tests are easy, notes and exam reviews were helpful. if youre DEDICATED, AND NOT LAZY Then you will receive an A. Some students might struggle only because theyre not trying hard in class.
Not sure who made that last comment HAHA, but she does NOT email back clearly and on time. She does NOT want you asking questions about the study guide. Her tests are NOT easy; notes and exam reviews are NOT helpful. Even if you are DEDICATED, you will NOT receive an A. Her grading is not objective. This is coming from a 4.0 student BRO : )
I wish I would have taken another teacher. Shes not nice. Exams are hard.
We had a lot of problems with cheating in our class since it was online (covid ugh), and she kinda went ham but it was only because people were so rude to her. We got a study guide that had every topic that would be on the test. Literally just do the study guide, make flashcards on the slides and you'll get an A on the test. SHE APPRECIATES EFFORT
Just to clarify, online implies open note, which is not cheating and every professor knows this. Study guides are useless. No matter how much effort you put in, the effort will not parallel the grade. This is the worst taught class I ever had. It 100% did not prepare me for graduate school. It was truly a waste of my effort and time. Do not take!
I took this professor for Organic Chemistry . There was a lot of incidents of cheating in this course. She makes you work for your grade. If you want an easy A do not take this course. The study guides are very similar to the exams she gives so if you understand the concepts and work hard you can get an A in this course.
I took her online for 100 and 200 level classes because Dr. Christiansen had no more seats. It was very hard to follow along Fredettes class because she wouldnt respond to emails. She also doesnt give out answers to homework or study guides. I came out learning nothing.
I learned more about Fredette tham chemistry in her classes. She goes on tangents regarding her business that doesnt belong in a learning setting. I would have learned more if she completely avoided this. I wish she wouldnt get defensive about this critical feedback, but if she knew this she could maximize the students experiences genuinely
Difficult class, really hard exams. Do not take her for chm 203 or 204.
Dr. Freddette really simplifies things down. I took her 4 week course and she gave us easy guidelines to follow. She didnt overload us with work but definitely expect to learn and know the material. Be ready to study her sheets, but she always answers her emails in a timely manner. I definitely recommend her she is really considerate and helpful!
I personally felt this class was a lot harder that what it should have been. I took CHM-132 with a different, tough professor and it was so much easier than her CHM-131. The guidelines are skewed and confusing on exams and labs. Grading is very harsh in both lab and exams.
took this professor when all classes are online. had all assign., pract. exams & lectures uploaded by the 1st day. had a discussion board set up for each exam so everyone can ask questions or if they needed help. did have to buy the lab kit! she extended a lot of deadlines. take her! youll get an A if you put in the work
She's a very clear and fair professor. took her 4 week chem course and it was very fun. Prof. Fredette is very helpful and appreciates your effort. Take her class!
Dr. Fredette is a very amazing professor. She truly cares about her students and goes out of her way to make sure were being helped. I took her for CHM 131 and WILL take her again for CHM 132. Excellent teacher, caring person, and very smart. I give Dr. Fredette a 5/5. If you are a student willing to learn and do your work, you will get the A.
She is worst Chem professor ever!! She is not not understand at all and on top of that she is very rude. She drags and she even ignores emails. She accused many people of cheating yet she didn't have any proof. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!
I liked her a lot tbh. She was really nice to me during certain situations. The only thing I didn't like is she started to change grades towards the end of the semester. Be careful, and show work for your tests, she grades the work pretty hard. As long as you do the quizzes and labs you'll be ok, and study for the tests obviously.
She grades really tough. She grades last minute and you'll believe you are doing the right thing and you have a solid A and last couple of days she will change it all and reduce your exam scores based off how she feels. Does Not give feedback to you throughout the semester. Does not answer emails. Do not take.
Take Professor fredette ! Shes an amazing teacher and will curve you if you are respectful to her. Shes the nicest person ever when you get to know her. She teaches very thoroughly and makes sure that her students understand the material! I took chem131 with her and got an A in it, when previously I had a D with another teacher. Shes amazing.
I took this class during quarantine and it helped me a lot. It is not hard if you study there is study guide before any exam and she helps you with good feedback if you got a question wrong
Professor Fredette was a bit strict when it came to grading tests since your work is graded separately than test score. Some good things about her was that she gives extensions if you want. She does not mind and most lab grades as long as you do it all you will get 100. She only grades quizzes, labs, tests. Final (two parts) is annoying.
Highly recommend taking chemistry with this professor shes amazing! Overall great class and easy to understand.
Winter 2020/2021 CHEM132, 4-week course administered through Canvas. Chemistry is hard, but Dr. Fredette is a heartfelt knowledgeable professor who's more than willing to go above and beyond to get the learning resources we need. A good professor makes or breaks a course and this is a professor you should take if you can! 10/10 course, too!
She does not do lectures and her notes are basically points, easy A, but wont remember anything from this class.
doesnt teach a single thing. gives out a bullet point lecture pretty much and makes you figure it out on your own. easy a but you wont be taught a thing
Taking her rn, she had three weeks to publish our unit for our exam and sent it a week before the exam. Now, we have a week to do 4 homework assignments, 2 labs, the practice exam, and the actual exam. Has been forgetting to publish lab assignments and has them due in short notice. It is obvious she couldn't care less about her students.
Not the best at explanations, just does the work and expects it to click in your head. A bit strict and somewhat sexist.
Easy to get ahold of. Amazing set up for online learning. Very caring and understanding. Was the best chemistry course I had taken. Will work with you! I highly recommend! Chemistry is not an easy course, dont expect it to be, be ready to learn and she will help you all the way. She will help you succeed :)
I took her in the fall, she gets very defensive and holds grudges, she is not good at explaining the material and expects you to know it. She either avoids emails or she answers them very defensively. She calls a lot of questions "LAZY". She will throw a lot of shade toward you in class.
I just finished her class and I really did not find it difficult. I thought overall she made the class pretty easy to get an A in as she gives practice exams which are like the exams. Sometimes she does not publish documents to Canvas right away, but good at explanations! She provides you with many practice problems to get the hang of the topic.
Dr. Fredette is an amazing person, a great teacher and super fun to talk to. If you care about the material she will notice and all the hard work will pay off. In every class not in this class, if you're having a bad time talk to your professors and she is understanding. I wish she teaches Orgo.
One of the worst teachers I've taken. She doesn't respond to emails or even bother to open them, she constantly cancels class and pushes back labs and tests, and she expects you to already know the material. Half the class were confused during her lectures and had to seek outside help. She genuinly makes you feel stupid for asking a question.
Professor Fredette is one of the best Chemistry professors at Moraine Valley Community College! From day one she sets you up for success and makes sure you understand all of the material that is covered in her online class and labs. She is very kind, inspiring, and motivational! I highly recommend this Professor to anyone who needs to take it! :)
Professor takes her angry out on her students. She is not of her word. She lies constantly. She will tell you one thing and say she never said that. She rants about how bad her life is and then takes it out on her students. She makes fun of her students in front of the rest of the class. She should be fired. DONT TAKE HER!!!
It was going good early on in the semester but throughout the course of the semester her true colors were shown
If she has a circumstance to cancel the class she'd expect the students to understand what she's going through but she never cares about what her students are going through because she doesn't expect excuses, & treats her students like some first graders and starts yelling with anger. She likes to embarrass her students and she thinks it's funny.
Not a bad professor, but she takes soo long grading her assignments. Answers emails pretty fast, and is overall nice. When it comes to labs, her criteria is confusing and makes no sense. She wants pictures of proof and when you give her the proof she refuses to take it because it is not up to her standards.
I took Fredette online CHM 132 as a summer class. The tests were fairly easy as you had a few days to work on them. There are two labs due a week which is kind of time consuming but definitely doable. She is VERY specific about how she wants things done so make sure you read and follow EVERY direction or she will give you a zero.
I took this class as a transfer credit and expected it to be moderately difficult. I think as long as you read the textbook and do all the homework problems, practice quizzes, and exams that it is super easy to do well. Being proactive is super important in this class as well as following directions and emailing for clarity.
She is very specific about how she wants labs done online, so pay attention to instructions. Everything else was very easy because the test were essentially the same as the practice test. All you have to do is show work that she basically gives you. Follow directions and you'll get an A.
Professor Fredette is the absolute best! She truly want you to learn and understand - she makes chemistry enjoyable. She is smart, funny and cares very deeply about her students and teaching. Exams are based on content and there are no surprises in her class. She is by far the best Chemistry teacher at MVCC.
I wouldn't take this class online if u have no background in chem. Simple labs took hours and she wants thing very detail oriented. Throughout the summer semester, she would often say that their would be reviews for a test, but then cancel them last second. Overall, tough class to take online.
She is just a fantastic professor!!!
She worked so hard to get me a F. I got caught "plagiarizing" once and she gave me the F because the pictures looked sketchy was I was literally in them. I told her that even with that F I will pass the class and she changed all my grades to get me to a 59% last minute and didnt respond to emails. I think its because I am middle eastern. DONT TAKE!
She's a cool person, but she is a terrible grader. She didn't want anyone to get a good grade. I had an A until the last day of the semester where she deducts points from tests from months ago for you to not get an A. Her test answers are also wrong, and she had no explanation besides "pick the closest answer"
I took Professor Fredette for CHM 131 and 132 and she is an amazing professor who genuinely cares about her students. She offers excellent course materials and clear guidance to ensure success in her class. I highly recommend enrolling in her course, as you will learn so much and certainly not regret the decision.
I took her for a summer 4 week course and it was one of the easiest classes ever. She gives practice exams, worksheets, and actual exams out all at once. The practice exams are identical to the actual ones with a few numbers/words changed. Labs were very quick and easy to do and she explains how to do them right before and grades for accuracy.
Dr. Fredette is the most amazing and helpful teachers that I have ever had in my life. Many negative reviews on this site about her likely come from students who do not review material before coming to lab. She is a very strict teacher, but she will tell you exactly what she expects from day 1. If youre a good student, she is a good proffesor!
Possibly THE worst instructor I've ever had. She is constantly late to class and speaks unnecessarily harsh to students. I heard her tell a student that she can't wear crop tops because it is unsafe(which I get) but also because there are lots of guys in this class and she wants them to focus on the labs instead of her midriff. Just don't take her.
I had her for my labs only. Although she outlines her expectations at the beginning of the semester, she is overly harsh to students who make any mistakes. My entire class hated her and dreaded lab days because she constantly berated us. She was also usually late to labs and took around 5 sick days. Out of 4 labs, we didn't even finish the second.
Many of these reviewers don't have a thick skin. She's by far, my favorite professor because of her teaching abilities and her realness. The lectures are always informative and by the time you are done with her, she helps you understand everything going on and asks if she needs to clarify anything before moving on. She will respect you if you work.
Dont take! Took away all the fun from lab.Makes you feel dumb for asking questions. She says one thing and denies it later. Overall made a negative learning environment. It's doable but unnecessarily stressful.
Had her for just labs. Would never take this course with her again. Extremely rude to students for the simplest of mistakes. She called a student a kindergartener over them putting step 1 beside a letter ex: A, and not just 1. If there are other options, take them cause this teacher isn't worth the effort of a class like CHM-132.
Great teacher, people rating her negatively don't have thick skin. Professor Ewa always had a sense of humor and was very straight forward with the class material from the start. She also made sure you know what was due through a remind notification. Great teacher, wish I would've taken her for 132 as well!
Worst college experience. Highly recommend to stay away. Very rude to students who make simple mistakes. Thinks she has clear instructions, but when all the students are confused she is frustrated with them. Cancels lots of classes. If there are other options, take them cause this instructor isn't worth it.
The material itself is pretty straight forward and she is nice to the students who really pay attention. However, she can be very intimidating when you make mistakes. Just write down everything she says and focus on your work.
To anybody who is hesitant to sign up for this course because of bad reviews, do not be fooled like I was. Professor F is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Her teaching methods are unbeatable as she knows it's a tough class but still adds some humor in to get the class through it. I would take her class again if I had the chance! 10/10
Sh's honestly so good. She goes step by step at a good pace in lecture, does everything based off homework and book, gives us practice exams identical to the exams, grades only labs and exams, and fr as long as you don't do anything stupid in class and you follow her rules she is the best chem teacher; I have ever had. I would 10/10 take her again!
Professor F is no-nonsense but fair. If you put in the work, she'll help you succeed. Unstuckstudy AI was a game-changer for my chem prep - highly recommend giving it a try.
prof F is a no nonsense she doesnt take any BS from any students you get the grade you worked for. If you take her hybrid all exams are online quick and simple no lecture vids which is a downside but all you gotta do is read them if your not illiterate. And be respectful and pay attention in labs and watch all the steps she does overall amazing.
this prof is alot of work but its doable if you take her hybrid all you gotta do is read the lectures and do the quizes show up to labs and do the exams fr its that easy. people rating her 1/5 2/5 are not ready to be in college shes tuff. So be ready to do the work bc she dosent play and bs.
good professor
Not that bad of a professor, she has her days where she's angry and then there's days where she's super chill if you're a good student. Very straightforward and will not hesitate to call you out for the rules u don't follow. Hybrid class is not that bad, ur graded on exams, lab quiz, lab report and flow charts. If you respect her, she'll respect u
Proffesor F was a great teacher for chem131. I took a hybrid class and it went by pretty smoothly, She gives out study guides that are near identitcle to the exams. She's strict but if you follow syllabus rules you'll be alright. Make sure to also get in good contact with your lab partner.
Ms.Fredette is very hard to understand , not because she speaks fast , but also because she as an accent , making it difficult to hear her clearly. She is usually late, about 15 minutes , to class or labs, but gets mad when you make a simple mistake . I will say this class is doable , the practice exams are the same as the exams but I wouldn't take
She's very angry all the time for no reason. I heard she's mean to the middle eastern students, literally a hater. Careful!
Professor Fredette should not be a teacher. She regularly insults students and accuses them of cheating without any evidence. She has obvious favorites and could care less about the rest of the class. Take her at your own risk.
No homework or quizzes. Exams are 87% of your grade and labs are 13%, so if you do bad on one exam your grade is ruined. She makes the study guide nearly identical to the exams, though so it shouldn't be too bad if you study. Have to self teach yourself a lot though because she cancels class like once a week randomly so we were always behind.
She was always late to class and labs , insulted and embarrassed students , and only read from chemistry 2 class notes book by Mark church . Her having a thick accent made her fast-paced instructions more unclear . We missed some days too . Her only redeeming qualities is no - homework, and practice exam being similar to the actual one .Don't take
Absolutely terrible professor, has typos on the practice exams that make the problems unsolvable, lies about what's on the exam and if you call her out she will tell you to never say she is wrong about anything. Extremely nitpickie about writing out work, units, ect to the point where the time on tests isn't enough.
Late for 20 % of class
Professor Fredette is a really good professor who is REAL. She does everything by the book and explains everything straight forward. Her lectures are long, they set you up for the exams which are exactly like the practice exams and it's not rocket science. The labs are important and make sure to pay close attention to everything and every step.
She is greatly unclear on instructions, contradicts herself, and grades harshly for any minor mistake. Exams are worth 87% of your grade, with 4 exams. Out of 4 labs, we couldn't even finish the second due to cancellations. Bare minimum effort from the professor, along with her treatment of students, makes me bewildered she teaches for a living.
Not bad of a professor, but she doesn't hesitate to call out students over any mistakes or inconveniences. Sometimes she doesn't own up to what she says and might say one thing about like an assignment or test and might not mean it a different time. Just stay out of trouble and focus on the work+what she says, and she'll be kind to you throughout
The professor often arrived 18–29 minutes late, canceled or ended class early, and gave unclear instructions. She sometimes insulted students, was inconsistent with attendance, and her thick accent made understanding difficult. The class will involve a lot of self-studying and with 87% of the grade based on exams, I would not recommend this class.
Very rude and unprofessional
Super unprofessional. She was always 10+ mins late to class. Lectures were often hard to follow. Lab days felt like a war zone. She will not hesitate to insult you and humiliate you.
