One of the worst teachers I've ever had. Very confusing and, does not take the time to help students.

The WORST teacher in the world. she doesn't like to see people get "B" on her test so she makes them as hard as possible. she doesn't help at all when you are confused and assigns all the homework problems for every chapter (hours).
This professor will not help you in any math questions you have. You will have to figure it out yourself.
I took Ms Bauer's class last spring, but I still clearly remember how hard her class was. She gave me an F and I went to every class and turned in all my HW and did every test. I'm not a math person so I wouldn't do so well on the tests.I retook the class with a diff. teacher and got an A.
This has to be the WORST teacher ever. Lectures are hard to follow and if she gets behind, she rushes thru the rest of the book not caring if the students are understanding the matieral or not. Would not recommed this class to my worst enemy.
She ist't as bad as people crack her up to be. She will intimidate her students at first to see who is willing to work hard. I stuggle in math and ended up with a B. Tests are hard but you can retake every one.
Miss Bauer is a hard, but good teacher. If you come up to her after class, if she's not busy, she can be really helpful. She has a weird sense of humor though, but she's pretty nice. Her tests are hard, but if you ask her for help/get tutoring they are not that hard. You do how to work hard, though.
Hard teacher.
HORRID...Doesn't listen to students; Isn't clear; Makes students feel inferior; Does NOT give graded HW or tests back when promised; Told the class to email her anytime--yet NEVER once responded to ANY single students' email; Meaningless classwork.
Hard but good teacher
Horid teacher. She gave us math problems she couldn't do herself. I spend more than two hours on math homework every night and still don't get an A on her tests. The reason for this is because she does not review the homework she assigns, so the problems you work on are often irrelavent in regard to what's on the test. :(
She is a good teacher, but it depends on how interested you are and how much hw/studying you do.
Worst Teacher EVER!!! Condesending to students, feels that they are there for HER entertainment. Can't solve word problems, has a strange, "unique" way of doing problems (not like the book's method) and can not explain it to the students in an efective manner. Taking her class is gambling with your GPA.

She wasn't passing back any of the assignments, or reviewing them (because she would assign 20 pages worth per section) for this reason it was too hard to soak up the material Secondly, she would focus on tedious aspects of the work (like how many lines you skip or grammatical nonsense)instead of the actual work.
This teacher passed me, and I was horrible in Algebra. I would recommend taking her, only because she grades on a curve for test if the whole class does poorly and that helped me pass. :)
Wasn't very organized or prepared for classes, took forever to get assignments back, assignment were very confusing, she was not very helpful.
Cal is hard, but with her help, ingenuity, and give it your all attitude you can learn viatal information. She is a great teacher and VERY helpful!
Examples are unclear and too fast. Her teaching methods my work for some but it had the opposite effect on me.
She rushes through everything and assigns WAY TOO much homework. Tests are VERY hard and very little room for error. Little to NO extra credit opportunities and this class had NO DROP TEST option.
She is very kind and trys to be a great help to you, if you take her up on it.
Moves very fast, very picky about homework (which there is lots of), enjoys 'torturing' students (her words, not mine) has a very rehearsed stereotypical villian laugh... could go on forever. If you are good at math, she might work for you. She might be a nice lady outside of school, but her voice gave me a headache.
Shes pretty tough, but cares about passing her students

RUN, dont walk out of her classroom!!! This beast of a teacher needs to grow up and realize that a (normal) students life does not exist around a math text book. I'd much rather be tortured by nails on a chalk board than to lisen to her for 5 min. RUN!
Although she has a few character flaws i.e. VERY diorganized, squawky voice, tons of homework. She cares more than most and will work with you if you want/need help. I am earned a decent grade in the class so I am not just saying that because she "failed" me. If you do the homework you will do fine in her class. She doesn't trick you on tests.
A good teacher if you are willing to work, tests werent very difficult if you payed attention to lecture, very lenient with due dates, generous with online quizzes, but a LOT of homework
Very hard class, if you aren't good at teaching yourself math I don't recommend taking this class. She is a nice person just not a very good math teacher
She doesnt go over anything, impossible to understand and explanations are horrible.
There are many things with which I don't agree, such as her online homework and quizzes and her written homework due dates but incorporates a sense of humor into the subject, setting a comfortable class atmosphere. Do be prepared to teach yourself.
Horrible professor. She gives more homework than you can handle and is more concerned with covering the material than you learning the material. Good Luck!

she's ridiculous, when you take a test..she make everyone take their stuffs under the board n rearrange your seat...always try to make a joke but no one laugh (sadly)..*_*..i dont recommend her at all...
This professor is very disorganized, shows up to class late and unprepared, assigns problems for homework that she doesn't teach how to do/cant do herself, and RARELY gets your homework back to you, making excuses as to why she doesn't have it. She's very confusing and goes over the material too quickly. Very unhelpful, DEFINITELY do not recommend
This class is terrible! She regularly arrives late and is very disorganized. Takes weeks to give anything back. Gives more homework then we can do. Very unclear about tests/quizzes. Doesn't know how to teach and cannot explain a difficult subject. Makes us write essays in a MATH class! This class makes no sense and is useless. Horrible experience.
This teacher is always late and never grades anything. Therefore, you have no clue of how you are doing. Assigns a bunch of hw, and essays and projects in a math class. Doesn't review or cover things cause they claim there is no time. Can ask about grade for weeks and won't get an answer. this teacher is very disorganized and can't explain problems
Terrible Teacher. Never graded assignments and tests. Took the long hard way to explain things. Always late to class. Class had to stay over an hour after class to finish our tests. Do not take this teacher at all costs!!
Worst teacher i have encountered!!! When using the number line she incorporates a little bunny, such as now the bunny bounced down 2 points...now the bunny goes up 1. i feel like im in middle school. it doesnt help she makes you have you name on a index card on your desk in order 2 remember everyones name. she doesnt know how 2 teach at all!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!! THIS PERSON HAS NO BUSINESS TEACHING ANYTHING AT ALL. UNLESS YOU WANT 3 HOURS OF HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT AND A BAD GRADE THEN SHES FOR YOU. ALWAYS LATE AND THEREFORE STUDENTS HAD TO STAY AFTER CLASS FINAL EXAM TOOK 5 HOURS
HORRIBLE TEACHER! First week of class she put us into groups and gave each group a section to teach the class. Why are we doing HER job? And how is it possible for students to teach a class if they don't even know how to do it themselves? She was always late to class... DO NOT TAKE HER!
oh my goodness. she is VERY difficult to understand. Doesn't grade your tests or homework, even tho there is so much of it!! You are basically GUESSING your grade status the WHOLE semester. I took her over summer, was never late, but it seemed like the class dragged on for FOREVER!! the book doesn't help either, just gives assignments.dont take her.
Dislexic. Good at Math though. Self addmitedlly tries to be the hardest math teacher at Palomar. Lots of homework, online and written. Uses Eduspace, you have to buy it and hope she posts hw on time. Seems like a nice person but gives ZERO room for error. Makes you do problems on the board. Scary little voices, tries to be funny but just weird..
NO! NO! NO! I ended up with a C and I consider myself extremely lucky because she didn't teach a lick. She left it up to Eduspace ( If it ever worked) and blamed her dislexia all the time. Palomar should pay Edupace to teach instead of her...I don't get it, she should not be teaching...at all. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER UNLESS YOU LIKE STRESS!!!!!!!!
Exia is actually a very good teacher. She's hard, but it's because she wants her students to learn and remember the material. All the hard work comes in handy in later Calc classes. It's lots of work, but that's college. She does have a strange sense of humor, but no math humor is funny. I prefer her attitude to other pompous professors at Palomar.
Tons of homework, expect a couple hundred problems a week. Lectures don't cover material of homework. She will neglect to lecture over and entire section and it will still be on the test. pretty much demand perfection, but lacks to demonstrate it.
VERY hard teacher, lots of hw, you need to put the effort if u want to pass her class, ppl complain because they probably won't put the effort, its college, what do you expect
PreAlgebra. She never responds to any emails, even on both her email addresses! More concerned with getting thru sections each class...rather than if you actually understand or not. Otherwise, she's not bad. Some students were very rude-but she put up with them...they were acting like high school!
Basically taught myself. Well attempted too. No really lagged and he teaching methods were completely ridiculous.
Excellent teacher. Exia is the type of instructor who demands a lot from her students. Students who complain about her teaching methods and amount of work that is given are LAZY. If you are willing to put in the work, Exia will work with you to accomplish your mathematical goals. I am currently still one of her students in Calc II, GREAT TEACHER.
I've only been in this class for 2 weeks. I already have a ridiculous amount of written online hmwk. When she asks the class a question and they don't get it EXACTLY right then she keeps asking (Ex: Addition Property VS. Addition property of inequalities) Sections are NOT covered clearly and she already has proven that it won't change. Avoid her.
Good grief, she's awful. I had her teaching Physics in high school. Not only was she completely unprepared for every class, but she punished us for her inability to teach. Eventually she was fired from my high school for assigning 3-5 hours of homework per night, and expecting it to be turned in the next day. Mean, unhelpful, all around bad.
I don't mind hard work and I happen to love math but this instructor was rather unprofessional. The first chapter was review but we did not review anything. She had different groups of students do review problems on the board without explaining the steps. She only went over a problem if the answer was wrong. Her sarcastic humor was over the top.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, just save yourself the hassle, even if she was the last math teacher on earth I would not recommend her or take her EVER. She tries to teach you 50 different ways to solve one problem, if one person doesn't get how to do a specific problem she wastes the whole class trying to explain it to them.
Only take her class if you're single, have no children, have no job and not taking any other classes. She assigns way too much homework and she sucks at teaching! She'll refer you to the online book if you don't understand something, when in reality you pay her to teach you. HORRIBLE!!!
Class is definitely hard and requires a lot of studying but she will give you the benefit of the doubt if you show interest.
Awful class and teacher. Beware of this teaxher
This teacher is horrible. I recently finished a class with her. She swears like this is our only class and have no life. She gives way too much homework and her laugh scares me. This is worse teacher i've ever had in awhile. I can't believe i survived. If you have her, Good luck. I would totally reccommend somebody else.
"I'm not here to teach you the material, only to expose you to it." She said this there's a ton of HW and it was difficult to follow. If you take her you're going to have to do all the work in order to pass there really aren't any corners to cut.
Worst math teacher ever. Horrible teaching methods and has no concept of keeping a class under control. I was struggling for most of the semester and she assured me I'd pass if I keep doing the work and then failed me. She allows students to talk over her and makes test taking overly complicated. And way to much homework (I mean WAY to much).
Good teacher. Demonstrates problems and then asks you to do them, which let's it sink in. Lots of homework, but that's college. Fair grader.
Rushes through the material, class gets derailed often. Doesn't really teach you anything, you have to go through the book and figure it out on your own. Doesn't drop a test, talks down to you, and overall isn't great at teaching Math, although I'm sure she understands it.
Very interesting teaching style. She tends to try and cram as much material into the time frame she has and then test on the small things that had little emphasis. Also, a lot of mistakes on her part as well as self teaching on the students. If you have the opportunity to take another teacher I would recommend it; but it is possible to do well.
Still waiting on my grade to be posted, even though it's almost the start of the fall session. Story of this class is that you never get anything back in time, or graded correctly. She crammed so the entire chap 7 and 8 of the book in one week, and then tested on obsure concepts, with most of the final comprising these two chapters.
This class will mess with your GPA, I'd advise that you find another professor. She isn't hard per say, but the class is hard because she can't teach a lick, I had to teach myself. Her tests were pretty obscure as well.
Don't take her class even if it's the only one open. Do yourself a favor and just wait until next semester. Your Welcome.
What the hell are these people below me talking about. Lot's of homework does not equate to college, college is about learning, of which you do little of in this class. Avoid.
This teacher was terrible. Could not teach a lick. Never reviewed anything. Never organized. Avoid her at all costs.
Made you think how to solve problems instead of giving it to you like most professors do. Sticks better when you have to do the work
Took her class as a fast track, she gave ALOT of HW. You definitely have to make time for a couple of hours of homework every night. When people fell behind she made every effort to work with them individually. She is a very forgiving and kind teacher when it comes to grading but she can get a bit confusing at times during lecture.
You can't learn anything from her and learn on your own. She thinks that you understand it on your own during the lecture. Also, assign so much homework and doesn't go over the homework at all to her students. She makes the Test really hard and long that you won't be able to finish it in time. Good luck with her if you get her in Statistics.
She is a super chill teacher and is lenient on mistakes you make on the exams; however, she tries to cram at least 4-5 chapters per class and expects us to understand the material on our own. She also gives a lot of homework so make sure you do it for easy points. If you have a choice on the teacher, DO NOT CHOOSE HER. Study guide: study everything
She is super lenient. She cares a lot for the students. Likes to make student go up to the board and work in groups to solve problems, annoying at first but it really helped the learning process. Tests are fair to what is covered. Requires some self-learning which is not hard with the internet. Strongly reccomend if you're not a complete idiot.
She is very laid back, just do the homework and you will pass.
Very poor example of what a teacher should be. Does not teach, just skims over the material and moves very fast. She has said before I have two speeds: fast, and very fast she discourages note taking in favor of whiteboard use, leaving no referancable material. I learned more from the show me option from the homework online then from her.
Absolutely terrible teacher! DOES NOT TEACH!! Writes random problems on the board and then makes the students figure it out on their own. Literally screams at you if you don't know the answer immediately. Forces students to use whiteboards rather than take notes. Essentially spend 2 hours screaming that students "should already know this material".
On my first day at class, there were 40 students. On my last day of class, there were six students left. one person got a B, two people got C's, I got a D and the last person failed the class. Extremely hard, there are only two speeds with her and that's fast and faster. She is extremely intelligent but does not belong in the classroom.
I took the 8week version of this class, and it was during covid. Lectures are so long and tedious but mandatory. I did 75 hours of work on Mathlab not including lecture times(8 hrs/week), & written assignments due in canvas. She is a nice person and helped me out of a jam, but the amount of work needed to do well in this class is super unrealistic
I have her currently, and wow, everybody is correct. She gives a LOT of work. it's really frustrating too because she gives a lot of written homework for math and a lot of discussion boards. I guess it's a nice chance for extra points but cmon, when youre already assigning so much homework per week it feels impossible to keep up. No, all my no's!!
I have too many words about this woman, she is very intelligent, but is a HORRIBLE teacher. Every bad review about her is absolutely correct. For your own good please avoid this woman at all costs.
I took calculus at a Big 10 school a while back, so I took this one just to get myself refreshed before I go back to school full time. Let me just say that her classes are no joke. Youre going to have to put in a lot of work if you want a good grade. She also gives out an unnecessary amount of homework.
She fell asleep during a Zoom lecture. We could literally hear her snoring. Aside from that fun fact, she is incredibly unorganized, unreachable via email, homework HEAVY, and she also makes students do group work in breakout groups on Zoom and it is painstakingly boring and unhelpful. Also, she assigned homework and a TEST over Thanksgiving break.
Worst class I have ever taken. Absolutely INSANE amount of homework, 5x more than necessary. Her zoom classes are awful/not very educational. Worse, she always assigns homework and then forgets to post it, only to post weeks worth of homework due all at once because she messed up. She assigned a test that is due on Thanksgiving.
Exia isn't the worst teacher I've had, but not the best either. I was forced to take her class and while she isn't good at teaching the material on the tests/homework, she did realize her errors and gave everyone a second chance at home after the ENTIRE CLASS got below 80% on a test. So I give her props for that, but there's probably better prof.
Honestly, the WORST "teacher" I have ever encountered in my life.... I would give her a 0 if I could. there was no teaching at all. Astronomical amounts of homework, impossible to keep up at times. A freaking lecture would have been nice or any teaching at all... DO NOT TAKE HER! SAVE YOUR GPA!
Math100- Professor Bauer really cares about her students and has a passion for teaching. She can be a little fast, so definitely pay attention. Not very homework heavy but be prepared to spend a good amount of time studying. Her tests are thorough and she gives lots of opportunity for partial credit on tests if you show an attempt to do the work.
While Baurer is very smart and knowledgeable about math, she expects you to be just as knowledgeable. This class was a support class as well, but the support only meant there was more homework. I stopped going because I was failing, and she gave a FW. She is not very considerate about people's learning paces or learning styles. Do not take!
AWFUL!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! I don't know how she has not been fired but she truly awful I don't know how she could possible have 2.1 and not a 1.0. I am usually pretty good in math but she makes things that I DID IN HS not make sense. She somehow enjoys “torturing” her students. Avoid her at all costs!!!!
Genuinely have no idea how she still has her job. First of all she's literally out to get her students to fail 😭 . She has a thing of "torturing" her students and makes things impossibly harder, thinking its funny?? Also you have to "earn your seat" by saying one of the hundreds of equations she expects you to memorize within a day. DO NOT TAKE.
She fails to do problems correctly in lectures. 25 hrs+ of hw every week. The tests had many questions that werent on the hw or taught. Quizzes will have incorrect answers marked as correct. Grades everything late. Gave me a zero on a test cause she "misfiled" it. Extremely disorganized. Never responded to an email. Shocked she hasn't been fired.
Reported her to the chair of the Math department with a few other students. Test questions needed corrections, she tortures students and embarrasses them. Awful at teaching and responding. The chair responded to us and told us to get lost. This woman needs to be fired.
