Wallano loves his job. He is 100% student friendly. He does not try to trick you on lecture or exam. He is fair . He keeps the class fully ingaged with great humor and insights. He encourages class participation. His does not like tardiness, whispering and clicking pins. This Professor leaves a life long positive impression. He is wonderful.
He is the best teacher in Anatomy. He is very helpful and clear when he explains. He is not an easy pass teacher but you should do his activities and study in advance before going to class and pretty sure you will get an easy A. We treat each other as close friends, and not as teacher and student which makes more comfortable to us. I recommend him.

Really funny teacher! I love his sense of humor, learn so much from him ^_^ I'm taking his micro class next semester. Can't wait!! Easy class, you just have to show up, do all your work (assignments aren't hard). Mr E... your the BEST!!
Great person, but not so good at instructing. Lectures are boring and he goes off on too many tangents and nothing regarding Anatomy. I learned more from reading the book. If you want to learn something in Anatomy and need interaction with the instructor, take another class.
I took ana30 with dr eyob wallano.He is wonderful,and probably the most caring teacher i ever met in any of my courses.I noticed cutting edge technology used for his lecture and practi****classes.He is very organized and equipped with high knowledge.Surely,i will enjoy taking micro with him!Don't hestitate to take his classes!

This teacher is very strange, he stares at me constantly and is always smiling my way i took his class over year ago and i still cant get his face out of my mind. very strange take with caution.

He is very hilarious teacher. he made the class fun, but difficult at times. his projects and exams are straight forward. Caution beware: don't chew gum in class, click your pen, be there on time, and don't eat garlic before class. he is a sensitive teacher.

Yes he is an easy teacher, but if you are going to school to learn do not take this professor. He is incredibly disorganized. When asked about how he graded our class work he said to leave him alone. I looked forward lab work, but he offered almost no guidance during lab and our final labs were not done because he had us throw away our samples.

Those who are negative were those who slacked in class & failed. Mr Wallano is the best science teacher you could ever take. He does not like disruption which is normal. Study the guides & take notes you'll pass. no problem. His class was fun. He gives you review exam test which ends up being the test itself with a twist. He is easy! Attend & Study

Rude as HELL!! Not very reasonable either. He's easy but you wont learn a damn thing.. Just study (*) hard for the first exam. The other exams after dat is basically, study the guide. Dr Wallano is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. I love his excitement every class is interesting. You HAVE to study even if he gives study guides only a few get an A because others think it will be easy and do not study.

Very easy but confusing, I would rather take a hard teacher that was helpful and comprehensive. Easy sometimes and ridiculous the others, I got a D the 1st test, and an A the second, and an D the 3rd and a A the 4th....he's just all over the place. I would of loved to have learned something...but I feel like I learned what I taught
If You Want To Learn Something Don't Take Him, I.E. Nursing Students, Trust Me You Need The Education For Future References, And This Teacher Doesn't Provide It, If You Just Need The Class, Its An Easy A or B, But You WILL Not Learn Anything...Take Dr. Walker VERY COMPREHENSIBLE And Nicee
I'm sure a lot of students try to take his class to get easy A or B. His class is NOT EASY as you think. The material it self is easy but he doesn't know how to explain stuff. (Lack of English skill!!) Don't ever trust him about what he told you to study for test. You gotta study addition to that in order to get a good grade.
He's moody, untrustworthy, and selects his favorites. If he wants you to get an A, you're lucky. He plays too many games and gives hard tests on purpose to bring everyone's grade down just to "punish" them. In reality, he's "punishing" the entire class for one person's mistake. His class is unstructured and unprofessional. Take him at your own risk
Dr. Wallano does have some mood swings, but overall he is a good teacher to take Micro with. The first test was hard but after that they get easier. He is awesome!! So funny. He loves you if you try hard in his class, not that you have to do much but make sure you know your stuff and do an amazing job on lab staining lol. He didn't teach much but if YOU put effort in learning you will learn. Study your a$$ off for the first test:]

Never in my history of a college student have I been so upset w/ an instructor. I turned in every assignment and my test scores can't justify my grade. I felt his attitude towards me change throughout the semester. If you are not one of the favorites than beware. I have a new $60 lab book we never used. I will not stand for this at all!
Very sensitive and a little crazy but overall i liked him. 1st test is hard (study Everything in the handout) but it gets a lot easier. He gives out all the answers for the test all u have to do is memorize. He does take away points for cellphones, chewing gum or just getting on his nerves so watch out!
Probably one of the worst profs I've ever had. I love science but not how he teaches it. He speaks poor English, is unorganized, doesn't explain labs/lectures well, will not answer questions if you don't understand, talks about irrelevant things 50% of the time. He's occasionally funny, but it doesn't make up for how his class is conducted: poorly.
He is a funny guy! But he is so rude to his students. He'll yell at you out of the blue! Its so hard to please him. He is always right. You can't understand the way he words his questions on the exams. He throws in random questions on the exams. So beware! You can never study enough! I suggest taking another Micro professor. Better chance passing!
Nursing Students BEWARE!! Very unsatisfying teaching skills. Most because he lack proper English. Will not answer any questions and he is very temperamental! He doesn't repeat anything he say's, so don't even bother asking. Will rob you of your grade.
If you want to have an organized professor that follows the lectures and explains everything well, do not take him. He is knowledgeable, he can be funny, and sometimes he is very nice. But he doesn't answer questions. He is scatter, and can be very vague when teaching. Most test are unpredictable and don't make sense.
If you're sniffing out an instructor that will stimulate your senses right down to the molecular level, than this class will rouse you! He executes such control over his class, I want him to control me. His great humor will hold your interest. He is organized and helpful. He does enjoy watching students squirm, so test can be tricky, but passable!
If there is one thing you'll learn in this class it's discipline. Study & understand what he talks about. Attend lecture, pay attention during lab, ask well formulated questions & leave your nonsense at home. Don't get on his nerves & follow directions. It's a different class, but not impossible. Don't forget anything he says it'll be on the test
Dr. Wallano knows his stuff but he's not an effective teacher. He's not good at articulating things nor does he try to answer questions unless he feels they are valid. He's temperamental which makes you feel uneasy. For labs I suggest you just follow the instructions in the lab book and not even try to follow his instructions.
Get lost in an african forest, Escherichia coli, puffy people, smuggling and lots & lots of staining. LISTEN TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS...when he says dont do this or that dont do it! Thats the only way youll stay on his good side.
I would recommend Dr. E. Wallano to everyone. He is an excellent instructor. Dr. Wallano should be one of the instructors teaching Physiology as well. His delivery in teaching style is excellent, he truly wants his students to succeed. Everything that he has taught me I have retained and I have excelled. Overall Rating Excellent!
Great teacher. One of the best I have ever had. Very clear, fun, exciting. My class was for eight hours with Prof. Wallano. It was a breeze. I would recommended him.

"You" determine whether you want it "easy" or "hard" . If you actually study the study guides that Dr. Wallano posts, then you will most likely pass the exams and quizzes with an 'A' grade. This class is an EASY A, if you focus, do not be late, take notes, & study. This class isn't hard. Oh & staying on the teacher's good side would help you too.
Very unorganized man. I guarantee you will be confused about his instructions 90% of the time. The class itself is easy but he makes it harder than what it really is. There are quizzes every day and 3 exams including the final. He's very moody so just stay on his good side and study study study his powerpoints
I have taken Professor Wallano for Micro & Anat. I am a nursing student. So I totally disagree with these comments. We must come in prepared and on time. Professor Wallano is extremely helpful but you receive exactly what you earn in his class. It is up to us as students to do what is required of us. He Fair and Professional at all times.
Dr. Wallano is extremely helpful. He is truly a dedicated instructor. I wish more instructors were like him. His classes start on time & end on time. You must be prepared when you come to class. He gives quizes unannounced which keeps us as students prepared for our courses which I welcome. I am a nursing student
I am a nursing student and I took Bio 10 with Dr. Wallano & I have had to use everything he has taught me which has given me a tremendous foundation. He has truly prepared me to go to the next level. I highly recommend him. You must be prepared and read your textbook daily. He sticks with his syllabus. You receive the grade you earn.
Dr. Wallano knows what he's doing. He is very knowledgable and will teach you was right. He's not an easy teacher but if you want to learn from the best and want to challenge yourself then this is the teacher to take. One of his priorities is discipline which is something we don't like as students but I believe is something we all actually need.
Don't use phones, Click pens or ask questions. Show up for every class. There's a quiz everyday. Read and make index cards for everything in the chapter just going by what he goes over in class isn't enough. Stay on track of all homework and save every paper he grades and gives back. The final exam is tricky. Also read the labs before hand.
A lot of these reviews are very over exaggerated. People make him sound like a dictator but all he wants is discipline. He's not crazy controlling he is really funny once the semester gets going. He has no problem helping you out, all you have to do is talk to him and that's it. Being a nursing major he's a better micro teacher than Aasi. Take him.

Professor Wallano is an excellent instructor I have take Biology, Anatomy 30,32, Microbiology, Physio 31. He is a no nonsence teacher. He truly has the students at heart first. He works diligently with all of his students and he keeps you on your toes by his frequent unannounced quizzes. He truly has students first and foremost.

He doesn't tolerate people talking in class, playing on their phones, showing up late etc. He emails you everything to pass tests...literally very specific. If you want to learn microbiology, don't take Dr. Wallano. If you want an easy A, take him. He gives you everything you need to know for the test (sometimes the actual test). He does not like questions and often directs you to ask your classmates who usally are just as confused as you are. In the end, follow ALL his rules and you'll be fine.

He gives pop quizes, is easily annoyed by any loud noise. If he sees you working hard and you have a B almost an A he will give you the A. For the final & on two exam he gives you the question that will be on the exam and he chooses 100 from them. Memorize those questions. As for your unknown project take pictures of your test tubes & bacteria
If you are mature, responsible, & want to LEARN, TAKE Dr. Wallano!! He is strict (which is reasonable for Micro students) & clear in his expectations. Come to class everyday (& ON TIME), take good notes, work hard in Labs, & study. He is wise (pick his brain!!) and teaches more than Micro. He teaches discipline, passion, resourcefulness & more!!
Wallano is a terrible professor. The class is unorganized, you never know what to expect. His tests are ridiculous and the study guides are over 300 questions long. On one of the lab exams there wasn't even a study guide. His grading criteria makes no sense. He WILL NOT answer questions ever. He will tell you to ask the students, but no one knows
Taking micro? Take Wallano! He is honestly one of the best professors at El Camino. His lectures are very clear and organized and include hilarious personal anecdotes. His tests are difficult, but he gives you study guides for everything you need to know for the exam. He does expect respect and punctuality from his students, so show up on time !

I regret to be Dr. Wallanos Micro class. He is the worst teacher I have had in college. He hardly teaches anything. His class activities and jigsaw are a waste of time. Finishes 2-3 chapters in 20 minute lecture. Exams are very long and tough. . Beware. Check rating at all colleges he teaches
Wallano's is extremely knowledgeable and has a strong passion for microbiology. This comes through in his lectures and discussions. He makes himself available to all students, and he encourages a learning environment of mutual respect and kindness. He is funny, yet very disciplined. Wallano wants nothing less than the very best for his students.
Wonderful teacher overall, I would definitely take his class again. He's a tough grader and gives pop quizzes, however if you put the study time you will be alright.
Think twice before you take physio with Dr. Wallano. He finishes 3-4 chapters in each class. Tests are long and tough. Only three exams (mixes lab and lecture questions). No clear grading criteria.
This is the worst professor I have ever had in my entire college career! He doesn't know how to teach the class. He doesn't have a structure in the class at all. He is easily annoyed by students. Please if you want to learn micro take other professors. I regret the day I enrolled for his class. He doesn't answer his question, his lectures poorly!
He can be scattered brain so if you like to be really organized with your notes, it won't happen. His "homework" were worksheets (5-7 pages depending) and the lecture exams would be based off the worksheets. In lab, he is great and really helpful if you ask for help. He get moody, slightly sarcastic, and can be emotional.
His great. Attendance is mandatory, his exams are 100 questions for the most part but there are multiple choice and some fill-in the blank's. There is about seven exams and a major project at the end. He provides notes and PowerPoint's, the exams are based on that. He does not give extra credit.
Great professor, he cares of his student's success in his course. He gives you the tools and materials to get a good grade in this class. He is honest with you and will tell you what areas need more focus. You don't really need the book but it is recommended for those who need extra help. Great class and professor, he is charismatic!

If you want to learn don't take him if you want an easy grade then take him. He basically gives you the test to study. He picks on student he dislike and gives you a number. If you forget to write your number on papers he takes 10% off. He is very picky on when it comes to how he wants work turned in. I received an A and learned nothing.

Dr. Wallano is an AMAZING professor. Earn your grade, don't be late, & follow instructions. He's passionate about the subject, energetic lecturer & is funny - to those that don't understand his humor, it might seem he crosses the line, but keep in mind that there is a cultural/language barrier. His class consists of 7 exams (3 lab & 4 lecture), quizzes, class activities, presentation, and unknown bacteria project. This class definitely requires plenty of time to study and showing up to his lectures. He also provides study guides for most of the exams. Just put in the work and do not get on his bad side.
If I could go back in time Id change professors, unfortunately Compton doesnt offer many options when it comes to micro, but this teacher has been the worst Ive encountered this far. He runs his classroom with hostility and is constantly confrontational. There is no clarity when it comes to exams and he is a super tough grader. Look elsewhere.

Creates his own test w/ vague misspelled questions and multiple tricky answers. times test with 1 minute per question. Talks to fast to understand & doesnt answer our questions. He literally said at the beginning of class that he does not care if you are pregnant giving birth there are no exceptions for late assignments. Super hot-tempered, our class almost reported him to the dean due to his condescending actions. One time we all spent the whole class proving his mistakes that he won't acknowledge. His study guide contradicts the answer in his test. I got an A but didn't learn in his class. If you get in his class, pls don't be afraid to speak up when he's wrong.

Even though there is a lot of lectures to go through for Physio and Micro, he provides all the information you need to pass if you take good notes and review all slides and files. He's nice, and approachable if you contact him. He really wants to see his students succeed, even though there is so much information that he has to present. Great class!
Wallano is a great professor ! The reason why many dont make it in his class is due to the fact that he teaches you on how to be responsible if you miss something you need to be more responsible yet a lot of people misunderstand that principle. I would recommend just be on time and listen and he is open to questions. I would definitely take again.
Even though there is a lot of lectures to go through for Micro, he provides all the information you need to pass if you take good notes and review all slides and files. Professor Wallano was an amazing professor. I honestly dont think I wouldnt have gotten an A without taking his class. A lot of reading. Test clear. Lectures clear. Expectations clear.
Tough BUT fair! Very misunderstood cuz of pple mistake his honesty with being rude but he's actually not. Genuinely WANTS you to get an "A." Come to class & do your HW. Study what he tells you to study & you get an "A." Don't expect an "A" if you're gonna half a** it. Just sayin. Fyi, he doesn't accept late work & there's no make up for missed work
If i had the chance i would have taken Wallano for Physiology as well. The rates on here is why i was so hesitant to take his class. In the end he was a great Professor who actually cares for his students to pass. He literally tells you what he wants. So if you failed its your fault. People saying hes rude when he is NOT he just wants his cake!
I was hesitant to take him at first because of the reviews but I'm super glad I ended up taking him anyways. Some may think he's tough but he really is wants his students to succeed. I am taking him for physio next semester and I can't wait. Overall, he's an awesome professor!
Amazing professor
This professor is a good professor. BUT be prepared for him being rude, he does not like students asking questions for any reason. He's very rude when you try asking for clarification he will cut you off and his instructions are never clear. Be ready to write a lot of research papers. 2 page papers for 4 points. He is very strict on grading.
His lectures provide the bare minimum amount of information and his exam questions are on things he never taught. I have to read the textbook and teach myself because his lectures are mainly him going on tangents. Tough grader, you have to do it exactly how he wants or you lose points, even if you put in extra effort. Not willing to work w students
Extremely rude, entitled, and unprofessional. Tenured professor and hates students. I had no internet and not a permanent living situation to submit lab on time, during pandemic 2020. Professor EW wouldn't accept any late work regardless of your living situation. I spoke to comp. college counselor prior to deciding emailing dean. do not take him.
HORRIBLE! Poor lecturing skills, rude, no extra credit no wiggle room to improve a grade. Very condescending towards students. If he is the only choice for that semester I would implore you to find a different school and a MUCH BETTER teacher
Dr. Wallano is a very humble, no-nonsense professor. He provides study guides for exams & gives no extra credit. No group work; you are responsible for ALL assignments, so read, make friends, engage in study groups, take copious notes during lectures, & make appointments to meet with him regularly. You will fail if you don't, so stay focused!
Rude, can not understand what he is saying. Will not help you if you don't understand. Arrogant. He is terrible DO NOT TAKE!!
Hands down best science teacher!! He made the class fun and he really cares about his students. I would recommend anyone to take him.
Professor Wallano is very serious about his lectures and he do not like tardiness if you do the work you will pass with and A or B because he do not like giving students bad grades unless you deserve it due to non-participation.
He's the best! He's about students following directions because he feels it's a necessary skill in the real world. Not following directions can make you feel discouraged when he takes off points. But it makes you pay attention and make sure you follow the rules…it's simple. You have to get mad at yourself, not him. His expectations are clear.
would not recommend i didnt take the final so i had a B+ an completely forgot it was to be taken at 10 oclock i got a straight C- an i pleaded for him to at least give me 30 minutes but no mercy . these instructors goal is to fail you an his language barrier very difficult to understand we have to tolerate him but he wont tollerate a late assignmen
Doesn't proof read exam questions as there's a lot of grammatical errors which can alter what he is REALLY asking. Some don't even have the right answers to the questions! Isn't lenient if you submit a piece of HW wrong, poor communication, no clarification.. need I go on.
Professor Wallano has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it can pay off. The lectures are worth attending as he breaks down concepts well. For study prep, consider using unstuck AI alongside the free textbook.
Doesn't communicate well. Strong personality and choices of words. Follow instructions completely. Leaving out anything he requests in his many essays that he assigns will result in not getting any credit for it at all. Personally not my favorite professor. I won't take him again.
Hard to follow, only used subtitles on day one. Talks nonstop with no time for questions. Extremely strict on answer format and small mistakes cost points or attendance. No feedback on quizzes or exams, many errors and duplicates. Not open to questions and ignores book mistakes. Disorganized and rigid.
