Don't let him scare you off. He's a really good teacher b/c he will make sure you learn. He only speaks Spanish in class so be prepared for that but it really develops your listening ear. I looked forward to class b/c it was interactive and fun.

Fabio is an AMAZING professor, I had him for 201 and 202. He teaches you so well and you actually retain it. Some people say he is intimidating, but I think it's just what you need. People will say that he is mean and too hard on students, but in my opinion what he expects of students is their best and that is not asking too much. DON'T BE AFRAID! Fabio is super scary and intimidating, especially in the beginning, but he knows if you try. If you make an honest effort, he won't eat you, promise. OK, Spanish is not an easy class... Well, for me anyway. I had to work very hard to get a C. There is a lot of homework every week, and for good reason. There are two projects you will have to do, 5 exams, Midterm, and a Final. D the homework, do well on the projects, and pass the tests and you will be fine. I loved Fabio.

Fabio is an awesome teacher. He's interesting to listen to and very funny. Online assignments are available a week in advance so you're able to finish it all beforehand. Fabio Espitia is a good professor. At first, his class gave me a lot of anxiety because if you don't actively participate/speak, he will call on you and make you answer. If you respect him, he will respect you. If you show up to class and participate you will be fine. Lots of homework though and tests every other week. His class is super fun too!

Let me preface this by saying that if you are taking this class strictly for the gen ed I would NOT recommend. Although Fabio is an intimidating and particular man, I can tell my spanish skills have improved dramatically since passing AP. I was bilingual prior to his class but now I feel extra confident. Work is hard but beneficial. Super funny!

pay close attention to how he wants assignments done. You must follow his criteria or else you will not pass this class. A lot of assignments but I feel like I am much more proficient in the language because of him. take it if you are passionate about the language and don't mind working a bit for your grade. Also all his tests are written.

Fabio was the best Spanish teacher I have ever had. I thought I knew how to speak Spanish before this class but afterwards I realized that I didn't know as much as I thought. He has specific units for each tense and it honestly helps so much, I learned so much. Do everything exactly how he tells you to and it will be an easy A.

Fabio is one of the best spanish teachers I've ever had. He is tough on the outside and kind of intimidating at first but once you get to know him and if you do your work, he makes class funny. There are a couple of assignments that no one wants To do, but in the end he makes it enjoyable. I wish I he taught more upper level classes.

Fabio is very intense and speaks very fast, however he cares so much about your education. He structures his class very specifically to optimize your learning potential. He's very particular about things but if you listen and pay attention it wont be an issue. The class is intense and rigorous but I felt much more proficient in the language after.

I loved Fabio. He truly cares about you and wants you to succeed. There is quite a bit of work involved in this class, but it is manageable if you are eager to improve your Spanish. He grades and responds to emails super fast. He is not an easy grader but he grades fairly. I feel like I improved immensely from his class.

I took the summer session of SPA 101 and it was crazy. Fabio is nice, but his first language is Spanish, so he isn't very lenient with mistakes. The accelerated course made it hard to learn, and towards the end, it became more about the grade than the language. Mon-Thurs there were 1+ assignments and 6+ more online DAILY. Hard work, but good prof.

He is a very good prof. Every class you have you are given worksheets that line up exactly with the lectures. There are tests, both written and oral, every other week on each chapter and homework for both class periods each week. Hes a tough grader but you you show up to class every day and do all of your homework you'll do good in the class.

I went into spanish, hadn't taken it in years and was so happy I did. Fabio is an incredible professor. All you have to do is participate, listen, do the work and youll be good. If you have any personal issues in your life, he is the most understanding, compassionate, and kind professor ive ever had. Overall, he is the best professor I've ever had.

very caring and has a connection to each of his students. There is 2 things of homework everyday but not too hard or takes too much time, if you attempt the homework you get 100% for it. If you fail the exams, but do all the homework + the projects you will pass. Speaks Spanish ONLY in class. I'm just not a Spanish person so wouldn't take again

Fabio gives a decent amount of homework, it is for sure doable but more then other classes. There is daily online homework along with worksheets. most weeks there is a project or a test until you get towards the end of the semester then he slows down. would highly recommend taking him he is a great prof and a nice guy.

First language is Spanish. Is a tough grader, does not give the best feedback on the homework itself. Always willing to meet if need help. Gives very clear instructions on everything. This is a 4 credit class and he will certainly make you earn it. Not sure if he is right instructor for novice students.
