This professor is not organized or prepared for this class. We didnt receive PowerPoint lectures until the third week. He doesnt answer students questions and instead walks around the question and is still able to blame the student for not knowing. Hes very unprofessional, not helpful and is not a Teacher. A PhD doesnt mean you can teach.
This professor is not fit for the course. Very unprofessional, do not respond to posts/forum from a particular class of students. All my posts were replied after I replaced my profile picture with pretty looking girl. his instructions are quite confusing. He also deletes posts from students who points out his mistakes.
I havent had an instructor at LSUS that has been more proactive. Unfortunately, the majority of zoom/forums posts relate to basic topics that he shouldnt need to explain. He doesnt give answers to practice problems but will walk you through examples. If you are still struggling, he will do one on one instruction! Couldnt ask for more!
My favorite professor at LSUS so far. For those in our class that haven't taken econ or don't remember, he will go back to teach them the basics. If you think you might struggle with this course, I highly recommend that you take him.
Best professor at LSUS! Perfect mixture of facilitating and teaching. Very clear and methodical with expectations and assignments. Outlines assignments each week and adds material based on class weaknesses. Makes students answer their own questions by redirection to improve retention of the material. Wish I could take more classes with him!
Great teacher, will answer questions and go over the material to make sure his students understand the concepts. The graded material is not designed to trick you, it is designed to help you understand the subject. One of the best teachers I ever had. If you need to take this class, make sure to take him as a teacher.
Dr. Fawaz really wants you to be successful. He will do whatever he can to help you be successful. He will make time and call you outside of class hours and walk through problems with you. He does not give the answers he will work through how to do the problem. Lots of chances for class assignments and quizzes to help increase overall average
Dr. Fadi is one of the best at lsus and i hope he teaches more classes. He works with you tirelessly. One on One phone calls multiple times a week. He loves his profession and wants his students to understand the material. Great addition to the mba program.
Dr. Fawaz used to answer my calls and reply to emails anytime any day, takes his time to explain every concept. Couple of times he will solve complex math issues fully detailed and text them to me.I absolutely love the depth of knowledge in economics. He provides a real life example to every issue I had. do not listen to the haters. He is the best.
Im so glad I took his class for Econ. Weekly excel assignment, homework assignment and quiz. He holds zoom sessions weekly to answer any questions you have.
Fadi was an amazing professor! I've always loathed Econ, but he made it very understandable and somewhat interesting. He puts a lot of effort into teaching. I got a 97% in the class without an excessive amount of effort.
Dr. Fawaz is a gem!! If you dont know Econ or stats hell help you understand all concepts. He breaks down Material in a fantastic way. Loved him as my professor and I hope hed teach more classes.
Phenomenal instructor! Always available for questions and responds very quickly. Make sure you understand the problems provided and read the chapters, and you will do just fine. He wants his students to learn and succeed. It was a pleasure to be in his class and I would take him again in a heartbeat!
Excellent professor!! He wants students to succeed and provides every opportunity to do so. Take advantage of Zoom sessions - they are a huge asset! I felt like he was actually teaching the class and not just providing a book then leaving students to fend for themselves like so many other online classes. I would definitely take this Prof. again!
Weekly zoom sessions were extremly helpful, can tell he wants his students to have a thorough understanding of the material . Test and assignments were based off of the materials provided.
His zoom sessions are a great asset to the class.
I've had my share of econ profs and Fawaz is one of the best. He had several zooms and ALWAYS made it to each of them - one time even from an ER hospital closet. He curves exams based on student performance. Walks through problems and gives GOOD feedback. Most weeks: 1 excel assignment, 1 practice test, 1 exam Only exam is proctored
This was a super easy class! Each week you have 1 regular assignment, 1 excel assignment and 1 exam. If you listen to his zoom sessions, youll be good to go. He gave us a curve on each exam but even without the curve, I got an A.
Best professor in the LSUS MBA online program. He goes to outrageous lengths to be available for any and every student if things aren't clear. He goes above and beyond as a professor. Very personable and friendly
Dr. Fawaz is one of the best teachers that I have had at LSUS. He class does require a good amount of reading, but his weekly zoom session are a lifesaver. It's very easy to see that he wants all of his students to succeed.
Without a doubt, a fantastic instructor who really cares about his students' success! His weekly Zoom sessions were fantastic. I learned so much from this class because he was willing to break down the concepts and make them very understandable in context of their applications. My favorite LSUS instructor so far! Highly recommend!
This guy is awesome, the best professor I've had at LSUS so far (I'm 60% done). Show up to the weekly zoom lessons and get ready to learn for a straight hour. If you do, I honestly don't know how you couldn't get an A. He makes really complicated stuff so much easier, and he's a chill guy. A shame I won't have him again.
Dr. Fawaz is very empathetic and caring. He is very knowledgeable and WANTS you to learn and understand the material. I took this with another MBA course and it wasn't an overload of work. Make sure to join or watch the recorded Zoom sessions. They're only an hour long but he addresses test questions. Expectations: 2 weekly assignments and a quiz.
Professor Fawaz was amazing. I am generally not good in high level math, and was petrified of taking ECON for the first time. He thoroughly explained the material and provided us with extra learning tools. Make sure to attend/view his Zoom sessions and read all of his materials to do well in this class. I would recommend and take him again.
Dr. Fawaz is one of the best professors I've ever had! The class was 60% homework (easy A) and 40% tests. The tests were based off of the material and his weekly lectures. He was always willing to talk to you at anytime via cell phone. I loved him and he actually made ECON enjoyable!
Dr. Fawaz is probably one of the best instructors I've had in the MBA program. His Zoom meetings are great each week, which are really helpful as his graded material can be challenging. But if you follow his guidelines you will do well. Watch out for the proctored test each week as they can be a bit tricky. Great prof and would take him again!!
Best Econ professor. Did not do well in my undergrad in Econ 101. Fawaz outdid those profs. Incredible teacher, explains what you need to know and doesn't make you guess what the fifth word on the 3rd line of page 120 was. He teaches what you need to know in his weekly lecture and you're graded off those concepts. Absolutely would take again!
Dr. Fawaz was an excellent professor! Make sure you watch the Zoom Sessions each week. They are extremely helpful. I would absolutely take a class with Dr. Fawaz again.
Amazing and caring professor! I wish he taught more classes!!! You have: assignment, excel assignment, and exam each week that are about 10 questions each. He has zoom lectures that last about an hour each week. He covers main topics you must know for the exam. If you don't understand something you can text, call, or email him.
Great class and terrific professor. Dr Fawaz did a great job breaking the modules up into manageable chunks and extremely fair with his grading and testing material. No real tricks. The math is what might get most, just take your time and work through the problems. Highly recommend.
Definitely top 3 in the program. If you have issues with Econ and Ecel, then Fadi is your professor.
Fawaz definitely cares about your learning. Course is structured well with Excel assignments to test application, Assignment to test your understanding, and exams to time them together.
He's one of the best teachers that I've ever had. You have an Excel, Assignment, and Exam each week which getting 100 percent is very doable. I finished with a high A. He allows students to call him out of school time if you have questions, and provides more than enough material. Zooms, practice problems, and PowerPoints will help you get an A.
Dr Fawaz is one of the best instructors in the program. He is approachable and has figured out how to be present in an online learning environment. Econ can be hard for many (it was for me), but put the time in and you can get an A. Highly recommend Dr Fawaz!
Dr. Fawaz is one of the best professors I have had. Each week you have a graded assignment, excel & proctored exam. Attend/watch back the zoom sessions as they are helpful. Provides you with more than enough material to master the module. Exams are not meant to be tricky but just making sure you understand material week to week. 10/10 recommend!!
Just finishing up Econ705. Definitely watch the Zooms/PowerPoints. You will be fine. I should be getting a solid B for the class.. and thats because I am not math person lol. However, Dr. Fawaz explains things very well and makes himself available outside of class if you need help! Put in effort.. you can get an A/B in the class.
One of the best professors I have had in this program! Provides lots of resources and went above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. Weekly zoom sessions, excel assignments and module assignments.
Dr. Fawaz is a great pick for economics. He has an hour-long lecture once a week to review the important topics of the week. He is a very accessible teacher. Each week you will have the following: 1 Exam (40% & 10 questions each), 1 assignment ( 35% & typically 5-10 questions per week) & 1 excel assignment (25% & typically 5-10 questions per week).
Professor Fawaz is a great professor! I have never taken an econ class, which made me nervous. Professor Fawaz is able to explain the material well. Watch the weekly zoom videos and you will be just fine. There is a weekly assignment quiz, excel quiz, and a weekly proctored exam. I am halfway through the class and expect to have an A.
This was the hardest class I've ever taken. This is a professor who definitely knows what he's doing but is not great at teaching it to someone without experience in Calculus. I spent so many hours practicing and on calls with this professor and still only earned a 78% in this class. Worst experience I've had in the entire MBA program.
Dr. Fawaz is the best prof at LSUS, I wish he taught more classes. I now understand econ and its applications. His zoom sessions are life saving; it is unfortunate that he has to waste half the lecture covering 4th grade basic math, I am not sure how these students got into the MBA program. His patience is commendable.
This class consisted of 3 assignments a week: one 5 question mul-choice assignment, one 5 question mul-choice excel assignment and one 5-10 question exam. You'll confuse yourself by reading the book first. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE LECTURE. He makes it so simple that you almost don't have to read the book and pass everything if you practice!
Professor Fawaz is a no-nonsense professor but he CARES about his students' success. His zoom lectures are key to understanding material and a great time to ask questions. He is accessible to set up a phone call pretty much whenever. Econ has never come easy to me, and I wouldn't say this class was easy by any means but he made an A possible!
Everything was great from Dr. Fawaz in this course except that he has over simplified the materials for those who are not the best in the basic math. This makes the course boring for students with a degree more than high school. He could focus slightly more on the concepts in Economy than just simple calculations. Weekly zoom and practice tests.
Hands down the best professor I have ever had, undergraduate or graduate. There is a fair amount of reading but if you attend or watch the Zoom meetings, he usually clears up any questions that you might have about the materials. If you pay attention, he will give you everything you need to know in order for you to score well on the exams.
Weekly quiz, excel assignment and homework. Assignment + homework can be taken 3 times whereas quiz is only once. He provides extra supplemental materials and practice. You can literally just watch his Zoom lectures every week and pass the class with an A. STRONGLY recommend this professor if you get the chance.
Dr. Fawaz's zooms are very beneficial in test taking. He really takes the time to explain everything well to prepare students for the weekly tests. One assignment, excell assign. and quiz weekly. If you read through the assigned chapters and participate in the zoom, you'll get an A. Great professor!!!!
Highly recommended, tough material but he makes it feel easy.
This is the seventh of my tenth course at LSUS in the online MBA program. Dr. Fawaz is the best teacher of the entire program. He is the only teacher that conducts live zooms thus far and posts the recorded program for those who cannot attend. He cuts through the you know what to get down to what is important. It was the most manageable of classes.
Great professor. Professor Fawaz conducts weekly zoom sessions to review the key concepts for that week. This helped me to do well on the exams and assignments. Professor Fawaz made it less difficult for students to understand the concepts. The way that he explained things really helped me to have a better understanding.
Actually taught via (live, then recorded & posted) Zoom. Made himself available to students by appt & gave his cell number if you needed help. I do not have a biz background, and this was one of the most difficult courses I had. He made it very accessible. .Well organized. Really liked the guy.
Dr. Fawaz has been one of the best professors I have had in the MBA program. He truly cares about his students. He offers a weekly zoom session where he covers all important topics in the assigned chapters that are relative to the weekly exam. The material can be tough but an A is easily attainable if you put in the required work.
By far the best professor in the program; accessible, honest and willing to help you understand the course material. Yes, you need to work, nothing is for free ! it's an MBA class and studying is a must if you want to succeed. Get his classes and you wouldn't regret it!
If you are not strong in Econ, I encourage you to take Professor Fawaz. He explains what will be on the tests in weekly zoom session. He weighs the weekly assignments more than the tests. This is what I love about his class. You can pull a B, even if you average around a C on your tests. I only wish the weekly assignments were similar to the tests.
Easy class once you watch his zoom lectures
Great professor! His zoom lectures were so thorough and he covered all the hot topics that would be on the exams. 2 open book assignments weekly/3 attempts. 1 proctored exam each week. He gives a lot of extra material each week - none of it is graded; just strictly to help you understand topics. Overall a great course and great professor!
The weekly introductory videos and zoom sessions teach the majority of the material. The textbook was a bit confusing so I stopped reading it and still did well. You have multiple attempts at the weekly graded assignments. Attend the zoom sessions and rewatch before the exam. I highly recommend Dr. Fawaz and truly learned and enjoyed his class.
As someone who doesn't have a great math background, I excelled in Economics given how incredible Dr. Fawaz is. He records his weekly Zoom lectures to watch at your leisure, allowing me go at my own pace. Expectations are clearly stated with the material being organized & concise. If you put in the time, you will learn invaluable info and do well.
I struggled to catch on in the beginning, however, Dr. Fawaz was an excellent professor. He helped connect the dots and his lectures were great. You'll have 2 graded assignments and a test each week. If you aren't a math whiz you'll have to put work into it. Easily accessible and cares about his students. Highly recommend!
I have a very limited econ background, so I was nervous for this class. Dr. Fawaz is amazing; all expectations are clearly defined and he is very straightforward with his content. Each week there was a chapter, mini intro lecture (10-15min), 1hr zoom lecture (live or on demand), 2 home work assignments (each ~15min), and 1 closed note quiz. Doable!
Very good class. Online text however was able to learn material and pass all tests by listening to 10-15 min intro video and 60 min weekly lecture. Weekly excel and assign. were short and easy. The weekly non proctored work counted towards final grade which gave most of us one up on the weekly proctored test. Wish he taught all 7 MBA core classes.
Everyone raves about how great Fawaz is. I agree he does an excellent job in his weekly hour long Zoom covering everything you need to do well on his exams. I ended with a very high A. However, I don't feel he actually teaches you any practical knowledge that will benefit you in a real world business setting. I would still recommend him though.
This professor gave every opportunity to do well in his class. I felt that he actually cared about our success. His tests weren't hard, but you need to read and do the homework. Make sure to watch the zoom lesson if you can't attend it live. He will give information needed for the tests. Great Professor!
By far the best professor I had in the entire MBA program. I cannot recommend a professor more highly than Dr. Fawaz. Wish I could have taken more of his classes. Watch the lectures. Do the assignments. Learn all you can from him. This guy is brilliant.
Good class but not a lot of practical knowledge to walk away with. Math is very easy and he explains everything in the lectures well. Comes across a bit harsh when others don't track with him. Intro videos and zoom sessions well done but other materials are confusing but usually not needed. Can be frustrating for people who like written materials.
I took ECON 202, not 701. If you read the chapters assigned each week and work on the homework, this class is a breeze. He is very clear on his expectations from the beginning and doesn't assign anything that isn't discussed at the beginning of the class. You have multiple attempts on the homework and quizzes. He also provides a chapter PowerPoint.
Great professor, however he gets discombobulated if you asks a questions that is not his way of understand. Overall, he's great and I would take him again.
Incredible professor. Out of every class I have taken during my MBA program, Dr. Fawaz's class was by far the best. He truly cares about the course and every individual's knowledge of the subject matter. His real life application and work-throughs of problems are extremely helpful. 100000/10. Actually made me excited to learn the material.
2 weekly open book assignments and 1 test each week. Watch the intro video and work out the assignments it makes you learn it. He then has an hour long zoom lecture. I read the book the first 2 weeks but stopped as it was a waste. Gives you everything you need to know for the tests in the intro video, zoom and practice problems. Easy A.
Weekly 10 question proctored exam (multiple choice & true/false). Two 5-to-10 question non-proctored / open-book assignments weekly can be taken up to three times each. Live and recorded Zoom lectures provided weekly give you everything you need for the exams and assignments. No extra credit. No group work.
My favorite professor in this program so far (on class 9/10). Very engaging, available outside of class. Join his weekly zoom lectures and you will do well on tests. Two weekly assignments and weekly exam. Assignments are non-proctored and open book.
Best professor in the program! Zoom lectures and always available for help to those that needed it. Gives lots of practice for tests so you learn the material. I wish he taught everything!
Best professor I have experienced in 8 classes in the MBA program at LSUS. Gives a weekly open book assignment, Excel assignment, and proctored assignment. He does an introductory video for each module and then a more detailed live Zoom that he records in case you can't make it live. I barely read the book and only used his videos and made an A.
Dr. Fawaz is passionate about teaching-it shows in his live Zoom lectures. All previous reviews are accurate. In addition, stay focused on the learning material during Zoom meetings. Do not get off topic bc the meeting is only 1hr long and he will share some exam jewels @that time. The subject was challenging, but Dr. Fawaz made it a fun journey.
Dr. Fawaz is an amazing professor. I am not a Finance/Econ major, and his lectures have made me understand the material and enjoy the class. If you watch his videos and Zoom lectures, you will be able to get a good grade. The material is tough, and this is not an easy course, but he does everything to ensure that everyone understands.
his weekly zoom meetings are a must. he helps out so much and answers all questions. no BS
Weekly tests (proctored), weekly homework assignments (non-proctored), and weekly Excel assignments (non-proctored). Watch all his videos and take advantage of the live lectures. I have never taken Economics before and do not work in a role that requires Economics and I easily made an A. Best prof in the MBA program - definitely take him!
If you put forth the effort, MBA 701 with Dr. Fawaz is a breeze. He lets you know exactly what you need to know to be successful on the exams. TIP: Understanding the meaning behind each component of any given formula is just as important as knowing how to solve the formula. If you read the chapters and PRACTICE, you'll do well.
Dr. Fawaz is great. I don't have a math background so the class was VERY difficult for me but he explains the material well and is accessible for questions. He wants students to succeed. PPTs are helpful but you'll get 80% of what you need from his lectures and doing the practice problems until you have it down. Highly recommend Dr. Fawaz!!!
Dr. Fawaz is one of the best profs at LSUS. His course took a lot of work but he provided the tools to get it done, including actual lectures. He interacted with students and provided real guidance. He cares about teaching and his students and it shows. I actually enjoyed the Econ class which I thought I was going to dread. He's the best.
I took MBA702 and it was the hardest class of the MBA program. I spent about 15-20 hours a week studying for the tests, I am not math savvy. I was hospitalized for severe anxiety a few days before the final and I believe it was due to the stress I was under studying. I received a high B in the end, but still wish I took someone else.
Dr. Fawaz is amazing. He hosts weekly Zoom to review the weeks' content. He also posts extra reading material for content that he knows a student may struggle with. A daily review of the content that he provides was helpful in passing the exams. I would recommend Dr. Fawaz, especially if you don't have a background in ECON.
This professor hands down is awesome. The subject matter is very difficult to comprehend but he explains things very well and is available for help and very transparent. Ngl, It is a lot of work and can be stressful. You have to memorize the formulas for the exams but you have many chances to take the homework assignments which is nice.
He was awesome! He took complex concepts & broke them down into simple terms that we could digest & made the material interesting. He really cared for the students learning the subject. He was 1 of the few professors that would actually have a live class & interact & answer questions which most professors don't do. The workload isn't heavy either.
The professor's lectures do not align well with the tests, making it challenging for students to succeed based on class material alone. While the professor's knowledge of the subject matter may be strong, it would benefit students greatly if the professor could better align tests with lecture content or provide additional support to bridge this gap
MBA 701 was straight forward and he literally tells you everything you need to know in his w
Dr. Fawaz is condescending and treated me with total lack of respect. If I could leave a zero start review I would. be prepared to be spoken down, to and treated with disdain during his lectures. His policies are harsh and he has no willingness to work with students. This professor single handedly made me question if LSUS is worth it.
Dr. Fawaz is one of the greatest professors at LSUS, I have taken him for both 701 and 702. His ability to break down complex problems into small steps is second to none. He genuinely takes interest in his class and cares about his students' success. I recommend this professor to anyone who does not have a strong background in ECON or Finance.
The worst professor I have had so far with LSUS. His excel assignments are a nightmare. Tests not the worst, however, to prepare for one, you literally need to turn the internet & YouTube upside down to find formulas and learn what he doesn't have time to teach (his own words) during his one hour zoom lecture.
This class is nothing but formulas and calculations! You can use a postcard cheat sheet on the exams, you'll need a financial calculator and textbook and grading criteria is very clear. Show up to the lectures on Wednesday to get insights of what you'll be seeing on the exam. Fawaz really cares and will teach you a thing or two.
Loved both of his classes; at least he cares to meet over zoom for a class that has no meeting time; beware of getting in groups; some don't even read the book and all they do is search for answers online. He gives us all the tools needed to prepare for the exam. Read the chapter, the provided material will be enough to get an A.
Fawaz was a decent professor, he's a little rough around the edges, especially if you type questions during the lecture, but overall he cares about how well you do in the class. My recommendation is rewatch the lectures and take good notes, you'll do fine.
Super easy course if you have a background in math. Did you take calculus and statistics? Easy A.
This is for MBA702, it's not listed here. Hard class. If you want more concept professor, pick someone else as this is all tricky word math problems. Homework assignments are completely different than exams. No extra credit or bonus points. Hard grader. Although I got a low A, but would prefer for extra credits to ease the anxiety of this class.
One of the few that cares enough to take time to host a zoom session; his sessions are very helpful, at least 70% of the exam problems are covered during the zoom. He replies to email almost immediately, clears any confusion with the material, if not by email he will schedule a call to explain things to you. Wish more professors follow his lead.
2 weekly assignments (excel & standard questions) + 1 test per week 10 questions, not open book. Memorize formulas. No cheat sheet. Watch his lectures & videos and you should be able to get a B+ or A in all the assignments and exams. This class is not easy. You must pay attention, understand the materials and study in able to pass this course.
Dr. Fawaz teaches finance in a clear, structured, and methodical way. His course blends theory with practical Excel applications that build real-world skills. He provides detailed materials, timely guidance, and expects high standards, which is an ideal for mastering key finance concepts. Loved live Zoom Sessions!
Dr. Fawaz is a thorough and highly structured professor who explains economic concepts clearly and ties them to real business decision-making. His teaching style emphasizes practice and application, with well-designed Excel and chapter assignments. A challenging but rewarding course for building strong analytical skills.
Look forward to 2 weekly homework assignments & a 10 question, closed book test each week. No cheat sheet allowed. The practice homework assignments didn't quite align with what was on the tests. Watch his weekly zooms to get a better understanding of what may be on the test. Even then, you may need to use other resources to fully grasp material.
This is the worst teacher I have had in the program, and in my entire academic career. He does not teach, almost impossible to understand him or his writing. He is EXTREMELY rude to students who ask questions and has a major attitude. The hw does not match the tests. The content won't benefit you in the future (doesn't apply to real world). Avoid!
Dr. Fawaz is dedicated and truly wants his students to succeed, takes time for weekly Zooms and explains everything clearly. It's frustrating when lazy and entitled students try to paint him in a bad light, like the one who argued with him for not revealing exam questions, got upset and accused him of being rude. He needs to teach more classes.
stressful course! It's an overload of info that's hard to retain. The exams are 10 questions only. Assignments do not align with exams. He states certain information and says it won't be used on the test. He responds to emails quickly but doesn't care to provide tips for testing. No extra credit or a cheat sheet for exams. Would not take again!
Easy class as long as you have a strong algebra foundation. 3 weekly assignments including a quiz. Watching the recorded lectures is vital.
The class is pretty concept heavy. You truly have to understand how to apply the principles. He has weekly exams that are similar to the practice problems and homework assignments. You are allowed 2 attempts on the homework and excel assignments. The exams are 10 multiple choice questions. Watch his lectures and that really helps out.
Good professor. Very clear expectations
