Not a bad guy overall. Expects everyone to always be in class and you can miss a really important announcement if you happen to miss even one lecture. He also makes a big deal out of making small announcements online. Also there are details he mentions in class that are nowhere to be found on the notes.
You need to attend his classes in order to do well on the midterm. The labs and final project were fairly easy to do.
Lectures are sometimes a little dull as most of the time he just read off the slides and annotates them in class. Tests and assignments are very fair if you attend his lectures and listen to what he says you will do well in the course. 70% of the mark was midterm and final.
I finished my final exam for CPS412 at 2pm today. HE MARKED ALL THE FINAL PAPERS BY 11:50 pm. THIS MAN IS THE GOAT! Also he was extremely lenient when it came to marking group assignments. Nice :D
The class is a bird course, where you don't learn any ethics instead you learn trivia History. But the prof is on another level, I can't remember anything he said about except of lecture slides and he tried to throw hands with another student for sleeping in class. Tests are based on slides. It's his first time teaching CPS412, I hope its his last.
A nice and humorous person outside classroom. But have a bad temper while he was giving a lecture. If you don't attend lectures, you will definitely miss out some important announcements. The group assignment was set by TA, and marked by TA. Avoid him or pick another prof if you don't like the style of his teaching.
Super chill easy course if you study for the exams (from the question bank).
My brudda was pretty good he had good slides to read and the lectures wasn't really mandatory to go to. Pretty easy marker but, be awake of very long hours of studying, so much content to cover. Overall very good proff.
Omar Falou is the GOAT. I'll never forget the story about the time he hit his head post-exam in the basement of Kerr Hall, and missed the bus to Mississauga at 2am and had to walk 30 minutes in the dark grueling Canadian winter. Same with the sleeping bag in the nurse's lounge, and got kicked out by security. Anyways, the course was alright.
Omar Falou is the GOAT. I'll never forget the time he missed the bus to Mississauga at 2am and had to walk 30 minutes in the dark grueling Canadian winter. Same with the sleeping bag in the nurse's lounge, and got kicked out by security. Simply memorize the hundreds of slides, and you'll get a 4.33. Anyways, the course was alright.
He is a very good professor. The way he teaches, he makes sure we understand the material. He really made physics course seems easy.I will take courses with him over and over. HE IS A GREAT TEACHER
Great Professor. Funny and knows his stuff. He doesn't tolerate nonsense. Material could be dry at some point but overall Great.
Very well taught course and the material was great. The exams were all fair and were no surprises. Dr. Falou is a great teacher.
Honestly one of my favorite professors and classes so far. Great guy with loads of insight into the topics. Stays close to the subject whilst teaching, but makes the class interesting by bringing in outside information and fun examples. Come to class, as there are bonus marks for attendance, although he doesn't take it every day.
Created lab assignments based on interview questions to help them out. His lectures were really fun and he had a lot of funny examples. We had a bonus of 5% applied if we were consistent in coming to lectures. The final marks for the course were pretty high too.
He is one of my all time favourite professors. CPS412 was extremely boring and he was able to make it very funny. He is a great professor who really cares about his students.
Lectures were very content-heavy. The midterm and exam were based on the slides. You have to read the lectures and understand the concepts to pass. The content wasn't hard but just a lot to remember. The exam was easier than the midterm. During both mid and exam, prof said no questions because the test is all correct. Seems nice and angry.
I appreciate the way he teaches and manages the course. Enthusiastic and efficient. It is my pleasure to take a course with him, despite the fact that I hate the course material.
Very reasonable professor who doesn't make the course harder than it needs to be.
Great professor, even though this is not his area of expertise, he still gave his 100% and made classes entertaining.
after trying to take this during the year with antimirova and dropping out, this was honestly a breeze compared. the major difference is that falou's slides are really good so dont bother with the textbook. i would recc going to lectures since he literally tells you what will be on the midterm/exam. super nice and funny guy, would def take again
He is a really good prof for this course and CPS 213 (as I heard). He tries to seem strict, but he is actually a nice guy. His lectures are helpful and I recommend listening to him. His slides are the most organized slides I have ever seen. This course wasn't his field of expertise and yet he gave it his all. With jokes too)
Goated prof. Lectures were fun. He would tell a lot about himself. He is good with small talk and rips a few jokes.
amazing guy. great sense of humour, super chill and really helped us out for the midterms. gave hints on what to study and what to skip. best pcs prof, he's also very motivational, relatable and encouraging. makes sure you know you're capable of getting through eng lol. also explains well and always answers questions. love him
To be honest wasnt even in bros class, but even then better than literally any of the others profs, the undisputed goat Dr Falou ! ! !
Solid prof for 213, would definitely recommend. Posts slides, doesn't require the textbook, and goes through examples. He is very by the book and not lenient on rules but very personable.
Very boring course, exams felt like a trivia game. Omar is solid as he posts the slides, marks exams fast, and gave good study guides. No surprises, but be prepared to memorize.
An awesome dude. Great lecturer, isn't dull or dry, understandable, friendly. Not much more to say- if you can get Falou, do so.
Falou is by far the best professor I've had so far. He is very funny and interactive which makes his class fun. He tells us what we should study and assigns good homework problems. His slideshows were amazing and his examples were very useful.
Amazing guy, best pcs prof. Take his classes if you can.
Best prof for physics, in my opinion. He makes sure everyone understands the topic and makes the tests/exams easy. You should take him if you can, you will not regret it.
On of the best if not the best prof at the physics department. He is not just a professor he is a friend too. I had a family situation so I stopped studying. at the last month I talked to him and boomed the final somehow passed. But guys if you are planning to leave mid lecture dont even come he got some anger issues when people leave haha.
His lectures are not boring at all , he jokes every now and then to make the lectures more fun , he knows his students by name , his midterm was very standard, but you have to purchase a 100$ subscription to wiley plus and homework is a little difficult.
Best physics prof, just go to his lectures and you'll be fine.
He was one of the best professors i've ever had and even though the course was heavy he managed to teach it the best way possible, midterm and final was pretty standard.assignments were a little hard but managable. his personality is 10/10 ,very educated, very fun lectures,100% recommened.
Very funny professor, lectures are just him reading off of slides but still sometimes worth going to since he reveals exam info. You're not screwed if he's your prof but there's definitely better.
Enjoyed the class; the professor's engaging lectures and clear support during office hours were invaluable. His review sessions were especially helpful for midterms and finals. I suggest using short/long numericals in mids and final for partial marks rather than binary outcomes.
Awesome professor, useful slides, and funny and enjoyable lectures. The hardness of the course depends on the coordinator
Honestly my goat. Go to his lectures and you'll pass 100%. He is very clear and if you need extra help, just go to his office hours and you'll learn a lot. :)
Awesome prof, one of the goats of this university. He's super real and doesn't act like an NPC like every other prof here. He makes this course really fun and enjoyable, and although you don't have many resources to study, if you know the algorithm well and know how to apply it, it'll be fine.
This guy is up there with Dr.Amin, he is literally one of the best PCS profs you can get. He makes sure you understand the material, he's caring. He is very funny and interactive which makes his class fun. His slideshows were amazing and his examples were very useful. Overall he's just an amazing prof and not some NPC like some of the other profs.
Good prof for physics, make sure to attend his class near midterm and final exam dates because he gives clues on whats on the exam! Also he said that he actually reads his reviews on this website lol so be fair to him. The course itself is concept heavy and difficult to grasp the first time, make sure to do many problems because you need it.
Ignoring that he has bit of an accent, he is a good prof and teaches well. I can understand him when he's explaining the slides and he is occasionally a joker. It doesnt matter if you have a good prof teaching a hard course.
Very easy to understand and he's funny
Goated Prof
One of the best profs I had. The lectures are very informative and also he makes physics fun. If you pay attention in the lectures and just go over his slides you can get an easy 80%+
Omar Falou is great. His lectures are good and he cracks jokes and is super nice. Also sometimes he will help you out on the exam if you ask him a question so be his friend and get some free answers. His quizzes are kind of stupid but that might also just be this course. Overall, great prof!
Omar's a gem, somehow makes every class enjoyable and straightforward. Super transparent with grading criteria, is quick to respond to emails, basically hints away his exams, and has simple grading criteria. If you see a class with him, TAKE IT. You won't regret it.
There's no bad surprises with Dr Falou! He tells you what's gonna be on the exams, and has a great lecturing style. Funny, and relatable prof. The assignments were related to eachother and not the easiest, but the midterm and final were super straightforward. Super generous. Take him if you get him!
What have i done to deserve such an angel of a prof😭😭😭
Good teacher, funny guy who interacts with students a lot. Course was hard but that's not because of him. He often gave us hints about exams. Only complaint is his slides were very crowded and wordy with lots of useless derivations of equations.
So kind and funny! Very excited to have him for my other courses!
This professor has no idea what is happening in class and is confused from his own slides and does not know how to solve his own questions. But regardless of who makes the exams he gives hints and helps out for what to be studying for. If you take him make sure to focus on the examples in the slides as those would be on the exams.
Amazing prof for physics who likes to interact with students and makes jokes. His lectures might be overwhelming but he tends to simplify it down to what you are expected to know, and his office hours are also very helpful. He was the best prof I had first semester by far.
Best person to ever teach me physics. He explains the material brilliantly and most of the time you can understand it right after the first explanation. He is always opened to answer questions at any time and makes jokes to make the class laugh. Make sure to attend his lectures before exams because he can tell you what is coming and what isn't.
He was really good during lectures. He tries to make funny jokes and tries to make the lectures more entertaining. He explains the concept clearly but sometimes they might feel boring to you because he still uses slides with lots of words. But a good things is that he always tells you what we should prepare for the exam and give us hints.
One of the best profs that I had. He teaches the content with the hands on labs and gets you to learn the topic by telling you what kind of questions will be on the exam from that topic. You can pass his course and actually learn with a little bit of effort. Also he announced the marks of our midterm and final just 40 minutes after the exams.
Honestly out of all the teachers that taught this course, he was honestly the best. You can tell that he cared about his students and how they did. He is also hilarious like ong the funniest prof I've ever had.
He's amazing and soo funny! He explains concepts and examples very well, the only thing is his slides are very text heavy so it would be difficult to go through on your own
reads off of slides. all over the place.
Students tend to like him because he makes jokes and is more relaxed compared to other profs. However, in terms of teaching the material, he isn't 100% confident in himself when he teaches. It's hard to understand concepts, and your better off learning through the textbook and YouTube
Amazing guy and always has an engaging class and makes jokes. Good experience. One thing is that when problems are on the screen he just revels the solutions instead of actually working through the problems. Would still reccomend
Very mid prof!!!! Only makes jokes to make ppl laugh and very mid content
Just gets the jobs done but always read from slides.
mid prof. just reads from slides and cracks ridiculous jokes to students
my goat fr
Man this prof is actually amazing he cracks jokes and teaches well and he's 1on1 are amazing and he's caring!!
the greatest most lebron typa prof that jus never loses. consistently puts up a great performance and dominates the physics court no matter what situation he might be in. Never will be another player quite like this absolute monster of the game.
Best prof ever!!!
Very caring prof and he prepared u well for midterms
I loved Dr. Omar, very fun prof. Would take again 100%. In addition to going to lectures, do the work(webassign, read lecture notes).
Wow! Very good and funny prof! Definitely would recommend!
Great prof. A funny guy who will crack a joke or roast a student at any chance. Great teacher who covers all areas of the course. His slides are EXTREMELY wordy however and I found made the course seem more confusing than it needed to be at times. Overall though he made the course enjoyable by making lectures entertaining and engaging.
the most amazing prof you will ever meet in your life. delivers sessions effectively and explains very well.
He's the type of guy to help you on a test if you have a question. Wants you to have a good grade. Make sure you pay attention to his lectures and read the material to further strengthen your knowledge.
It was my second course having him as a prof, even tough he entered mid semester due to complications with previous prof, he managed his lectures too well! He makes some jokes which makes his lectures more bearable :) If you need help, going to his office hours is useful!
He is lovely prof, and he knows how to teach and communicate with students. His slides are amazing and very helpful for the exams. At the end he gives good hints for studying for exams and really cares about your learning.
It's just he wants to be funny in the lecture and that's about it. He's just a simple average teacher who just reads from the slides and very often roasts people for no reason. Very relaxed and doesn't really explain the material deeply and people do not understand the lesson very well.
An excellent professor! His lectures and slides were incredibly helpful in enhancing my understanding of the subject. Everything was presented in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner.
Dr. Falou explains complex physics concepts clearly and makes lectures engaging with real-world examples. He is passionate, approachable, and always willing to help. One of the best in the department.
GOAT GOAT GOAT RAHHH
I think the greatest attribute of this Dr. Omar was that he breaks down concepts extremely well. He takes a complex/hard to grasp idea/theory and gives extremely well thought out examples that make it easy to understand. This made learning multiple languages which had different quirks easier to learn. I wish he taught more CS courses.
I love Omar!!!! Transferred into his class two weeks into the semester and it was the best decision I made. He helps you through almost anything related to the course. Omar made me want to come to an 8am class lol :). He's the GOAT.
Great Professor!!! I got 43 % in the midterm and thought I was cooked however I went to his office hours and he really helped me get through the course and make up my mark. In lectures he explains concepts really well and often cracks a joke or roasts a student.
Amazinggg Prof, really helpful. His slides were to the point and easily understandable. You don't need to attend the lectures, but tbh, they help. If you're taking CPS213 with him, go for it. The midterm and final were not that hard; if you go through the slides, you will be ok. best prof so far!!
its actually shameful that he still has a job. his english is incomprehensible and his methods of teaching are really unengaging and lazy, study on ur own and youll do way better no cap
A fantastic professor! His lectures and slides greatly clarified the subject matter, presenting everything in a clear, concise, and well-structured way.
Great guy, always making jokes in class to keep us engaged. Really made sure we understood important topics and had helpful examples
Great professor
Great prof, broke down difficult concepts and made it easy to understand. Lectures were entertaining, and the professor always had a good mood and seemed happy to teach.
One of TMU's gems, def take his course if you can
Great sense of humour, you cannot sleep in the class.
easily one of the best profs at tmu. truly such a great teacher and made it possible to do well in a hard course; attending lectures is super important as he says things worth noting that you won't find on slides. also helps his students out (iykyk), especially if u make an impression on him so make sure to participate, show up, and make an effort!
Such a chill, effortlessly funny guy. Classes are not mandatory but showing up matters a lot! If you go to the lectures, the exams are going to be easy for you. If you take in the summer, just make sure to stay on top of everything because it goes really fast.
An absolute delight to be in his class. He is effortlessly funny and makes a course a lot of students dread, interesting and easy to understand. I was able to grasp concepts quickly and attending his lectures is not mandatory but helps A LOT. I wish he taught all my classes.
he is the best professor i had in my 3 years at tmu.
never loved another man this much
Falou is the best of the best, focuses on important things, lets you know what content to focus on for midterms and finals. Great at teaching, shares very inspirating stories.... btw Alex Ufkes is his student.
Amazing lectures and easy to follow, honestly a GOATED tmu prof.
Falou Omar is the best physics professor that teaches PCS211. Although he can go a bit fast during the lectures, he is very funny and always covers content in an easy way to understand. To do well in this class, buy the WebAssign and do the textbook problems.
Great prof. Teaches well, relatable and knows when to take it slow and fast. Don't sleep in class cause he will clown you. Also, don't go to his office hours with a problem you haven't tried to figure out, he gets kinda mad.
I didn't have him as my physics prof but after a while I started going to his lectures, he is the best prof, he wants u to learn and wants u to understand content, genuinely deserves more than what he gets paid genuinely the best. TRUST TAKE HIM.
If you have the opportunity no matter the course, take this prof. In the courses I've had him he teaches he actually cares about the topics and takes time to explain things well. He also cares about students success if they're willing to reach out to him. His lectures actually make it fun to attend as he always finds ways to make things fun.
Funny professor, slides are extremely useful and were mainly what I relied on. Midterm and exam was mainly webassign and textbook questions with the theory questions coming mainly from his slides. Overall a very nice person, I just wish he went a little bit slower in class/actually write out and do the questions, he still helped a lot though.
actually looked forward to the days that I had this class. not only is the course itself interesting, he made it quite easy to understand and study. his quizzes were fair and overall he made the class fun and easy to pay attention to. would love to take more classes with him :)
If Omar teaches a course you are taking always pick Omar.
Literally the goat. His lectures are engaging and easy to understand. He also gives a very detailed study guide for the midterm and final exam.
