This was a somewhat difficult class. The tests were hard, but multiple choice. Mr Elkatri compensates by giving extras to help improve grades as he knows many are concerned with this. He is very enthusiastic about Chemistry and seems to really enjoy teaching.

Great professor!! He replaces your lowest test grade with your highest which is helpful if you bomb a test. Attendance is important because he gives random quizzes that are easy and help your grade in the class. Wish I could take him again!!!

If you go to class, listen, and take notes, you will get an A. He gives you a study guide in every class and a week before each test and answers any question you have. He loves chemistry and explains it in a way no other teacher will (he explains the problems in different ways). If his class is available, take it, very recommended!

Want to have fun in Chemistry? As far as professors go at GPC, Professor Katri is one of the best. He loves the subject he teaches and gives students tips and tricks to explain complex theories. Pay attention to his instructions on the first day, follow them and you'll be on your way to an A. Bueller, Bueller, Bueller....miss you and your antics.

Have had many profs, but he is among the best. Most fun I've ever had in a college classroom. Strict about lab safety and attendance; but he does everything he can to help you get a legitimate A. This was an online class. Dr. Katri is very accessible via phone or email. He is more than willing to help! He is a bit hard to understand when speaking to him by phone (he has a strong accent), however that is alleviated by communicating via email! He's and excellent prof!

Chemistry is not my cup of tea, however thanks to Prof.K I was able to understand it better. Prof K is all about helping his students successed. His positive comments & support are very appreciated. I look forward to taking Chem 2 in the Spring. I truly feel that the negative comments mentioned had more to do with personality clash. He is a great!

I am a returning student; I have a BA and some grad school credits. I must say, Katri has been one of my best professors! He made material interesting & applicable to everyday life. I will take CHEM 1152 when he teaches it. You will have to read and participate and you will be given every opportunity to improve your grade and succeed!

Great teacher. He explains the lab before actually doing it, which allows a student to be totally prepared for the experiment. Very humerous, not a push over. I took Professor katri this semester.He was the best chemistry teacher i ever had. He is very clear,organized and make material fun & easy that anybody can understand. All you have to do is make anotebook and do lab quizes and a guaranteed A. I never got an A before in Chemistry because i never understood the concept. Take him as soon as u see him.

Mr Katri is a God send! For those of us that have been out of school for over ten yrs he really broke everything down so that we could understand it. Dr. Katri is a genuinely an excellent professor. More than willing to help you, all you need to do is ask. He is going to be a very creative chemist someday if he maintains his current approach. He made learning Chemistry so easy and I HATE chemistry. All the info was there on the web, the text was just a back up. As long as you read the chapters and work on the quizzes it should be easily enough to make a real good grade.

Have had many profs, but he is among the best. Most fun I've ever had in a college classroom. Strict about lab safety and attendance; but he does everything he can to help you get a legitimate A. He does not make Mickey Mouse assignments--he gets to the meat of the subject without busy work. Very fair, very fun, and very helpful. I give him an A+++

I have Mr. Katri for Chem 1151, he is an angel. i had nice professors, but not like him. he cares about his students, he expains materials very well for his students. he walks trough each problems and make sure that you undrestand. so far i have A+ in his class. take him and you will love chem.

You cannot fail in this class. Period. Absolutely no reason to drop. Helpful and friendly, but his teaching methods are not the most ideal. Recommended if taking just one semester. You will have a difficult time in Chem1212 if you take this teacher and he does not teach 1212 at the moment.

Lecture: Quizzes on iCollege with 2 attempts. Tests in class with open book, but u must know the material before hand. I've seen some people who just depended on the book withdrew from the class. If u have questions, the door is always open, but dont go to him with stupid questions or he will be pissed of. He drops the lowest quiz and test grades

The trick for his tests: use his powerpoints as a reference & work the problems from the book. He's very concerned with your progress and REALLY wants you to pass. I wouldn't suggest taking him if one were deeply interested in the subject as he can be difficult to understand. However, if passing the class was paramount, there's no one better.

Professor Katri is an outstanding chemistry teacher who directly teaches principles in a manner that is clear to the students and doesn't bring non-useful information to the class. He teaches directly from powerpoint but highly encourages students to refer to the textbook to better grasp topics. His tests are short and straightforward.

He is dedicated to helping and gives us confidence in doing Chemistry. I love this teacher. He is so wonderful to have. Because of Mr. Katri, I really enjoy Chemisry. He is the BEST!!!

Mr. Katri is always smiling and welcoming students. He KNOWS Chemistry! He is the most patient and kindest teacher at Clarkston, and I love his class. I wish he could teach 1152, because I'd be FIRST in line to take his class a second time. He is the GREATEST teacher, and I just love his dedication and easy way of teaching Chemistry.

Professor Katri is one of the kindest and smartest teachers you will ever have at Clarkston campus. He is a brilliant professor, always willing to help, and really has a focus on helping students succeed. He is the BEST. There is no teacher like him. You will learn Chemistry and have fun in his class. He's the GREATEST ever!

Great Instructor. If you listen, do your work there is no reason for not having an A. Prof. Katri is great at explaining chemistry concepts and is always willing to answer questions. I have a new love for chemistry because of him.

One of THE best Chemistry lab professors at GPC. He is very helpful and has a sense of humor! He makes Chemistry so much fun! As long as you're on his good side, you'll do just fine :) Highly Recommended!

Had him for lab. Can't imagine taking this class with anyone else. He is entertaining and explains things in simple terms. He is the BEST! He will answer any question you have. He will help you with the homework.

great lab teacher. Goes step by step through the labs and test. open notes on all test. only midterm and finally exams.You can't get lower than an A in his class. DON'T MISS ONE DAY OF HIS CLASS!! Attendance is a must!!!

Dr. Fares is the best. He will tell you exactly what to do, and what to expect in his tests. He is also very useful during lab sessions. Except for his accent, he communicates well.
