i think he tried hard, but he had like 10 classes to teach everyday, probably thats why he doesn't care about helping individuals so much. generally a good prof but I wont recommend taking his courses
He is an awesome Young, funny and talented professor, and knows the materials very well. Please attend his classes regularly and take his hints and read his notes, and you would easily get a good grade.

The Course is very easy if you read the course materials carefully before exams and projects. There are group projects, but they are easy to pass. An easy A+. A's started from 83%
Really good guy and a good prof. Definitely knows his stuff. But be careful; the content seems really easy in class, but if you don't practice, the midterm and (especially) the final will hit you hard. Would recommend him!

There are two midterm exams and an in class final exam. All exams are non-cumulative and not too difficult. Go to class and study power point slides you will do great. Questions on exams can relate to topics only discussed in class. There is group paper and presentation on any topic you choose. The textbook is not needed to an easy A.

Definitely not a top notch professor. Half the things he says are flat out wrong. You'll need to learn everything from the textbook and the lecture slides. His lectures are mildly entertaining but the examples he uses do NOT fit with the lecture. Also is occasionally mildly offensive. Teaches my OB class the same way.
I really enjoyed his class. He tries to help all his students and his class is really fun to do.

He's a great guy, has interest in every student and wants you to do well. Sometimes his lectures are unorganized and this leads to confusion on his tests. Textbook was helpful to some degree, he also uses lots of additional readings for his course.
Great professor
farhan is the best prof in asper and is an amazing teacher in this course. I had the book but if you went to his classes then you don't need the book. the book was just used to do the practice questions. the final was super hard with the inventory question and they were infact two that had high marks. I would recommend you do more practice

Professor Farhan Islam is one of the best lecturers I had. He is strict if you interrupt the class(for our own good). You cannot use your electronic devices, which I believe is what makes students get good grades as it help concentrate on the lecture. Overall he is a great professor and I recommend any one to take ABIZ1010 with Prof Farhan.
Funny guy, good teacher, but the material is super dry. The content seems easy in class but they changed it to a 40% midterm, 60% final. The final this year pulled out a grade 11 precal concept I havent seen since grade 11 and I never saw it used in lectures/text.. so beware, the exams always throw curveballs like theyre setting you up to fail.
He is amazing. Loved all of his lectures.
He is one the best professor i have ever had. Totally hilarious and helpful in all the possible ways he can. He wants total attention while teaching. Would definitely take him again in the future. Has very interesting methods of teaching. Wants us to understand rather than cram.
The final was much more difficult than the assignment. Didnt give any practice questions before the exam. Not an easy A course.
Scattered lectures that did not cover a wide range of the topics in the textbook. Did not follow the notes very closely either and would get caught up on a small topic and spend the whole class talking about that when there were lots of other things to cover. Would not take again because of difference between his lectures and the graded materials

Farhan was a really good prof, there is a lot of work in this course but if you put in a little effort you can do pretty well. The midterm was pretty easy but the final was challenging.
First day of class and I'm already giving him 5 stars. He's well spoken, knowledgeable, and you can tell he cares about the class and his students.

Perhaps the best professor I had till now. An amazing attitude and a good knowledgeable lectures. He often jokes in order to lighten up the class. A true gem indeed.
Professor Farhan is average. His midterm exam was hard and he had topics on there that he didn't cover in lecture. He spends a lot of time taking about non sense. Defiantly read the textbook if you want to do well in this course.
Often rants about irrelevant topics. Difficult to understand. Asked questions on the midterm on topics we did not yet cover in class. Exam questions are worded improperly. Final consists of topics not covered in the textbook. Assignments are easy however you need an 86-95 to get an A, 95+ for an A+.

One of the best profs I've had in a long time. His classes are outstandingly witty and interesting. His personality and lectures are of one of a kind.
The prof is mean, gets easily offended over little things, made the textbook irrelevant to what he's teaching, and started to get very annoyed with our class which is very discouraging, the first half of the class was a good experience but after the midterm he lost his cool with the class. The first class of my major is a disaster!
Prof Farhan made an effort to use humour and keep the classes upbeat. But, later in the semester he was easily frustrated by students asking reasonable questions, where sometimes he wasnt fully understanding what the student was asking. Midterms were very fair (questions similar to inclass examples) but final was very challenging.
Farhan is a terrible prof. He is rude and mean to students. He has no patience for our class and would get very upset when someone asked him a question. He makes us buy a textbook but it doesn't match with the material he was teaching, big waste of time. There was also material on the final exam that he never taught in class at all.
Farhan is a very nice, caring, and approachable professor. He is very intelligent and knows what he's doing. He is also very good at explaining concepts. Definitely take this course with him if you can.
He is nice and humble. A very straight forward guy. Dont skip classes. His lectures are exactly what he will ask in tests. Write down notes in the class and be attentive.
Nice guy and cares about his students. Going to class wont help much. Goes over 3-4 slides during most classes and just repeats the same things for an hour. Read your textbook and take your own notes from lecture slides and youll be fine in his class
I did not find this class to be a straightforward one. I found the lecture material and the assigned textbook to not be consistent with the questions on the final exam, which I believe was a very difficult exam. I found the online homework to be far too easy, as well a large portion of it was due right at the very end of term. I would not recommend
A-he gets angry if you ask a question, mostly doesn't know the accurate answers. B-His tests match some class examples but be ready to unrelated and irrelevant questions you had no idea about. C-Not the fairest grader, be one of his disciple if you want better grades, overall not my favourite but you will not fail if can keep up with him!
gives lots of practice questions for the midterm so its super easy, but then gives 0 practice questions or information for the final. he spent a lot of time on chapters that he ended up removing from the final and very little time of chapters that took up majority of the exam. get ready to basically teach yourself
Mr. Farhan Islam is an amazing professor. His classes are very interesting and you'll get a clear concept about every specific topic. Skip classes won't help you out as he asks questions from his lectures mostly. Quizzes are easy but the final is tough. Good writing assignments will help you a lot. He's a very humble guy and easy marker.
It seems like he's an average prof, kind of has a sense of humour, very passive-aggressive, and even though he says "this class is an easy A" he will be looking to screw over and trick students on the tests. He always says you don't have to go to class, but go if you want a DECENT grade. He will explain lots, give examples, and answer questions.
So many unnecessary papers and assignments. The lecture is kinda boring and heavy. He is a tough grader as well.
Honestly, I've never had such a hard time understanding a class. I went to every single class ( as you had to because all the slides he posted had blanks, so if you didn't go to class you wouldn't have the notes) and I really never understood what he was talking about. His tests are hard, and the MC never make any sense, confusing you to no end.

Professor Islam teaches professionally, he tells you if a class is easy/hard it's easy if you actually put in the work for it! Yes, it's hard to understand him at times but you can always talk to him after class because he's super friendly/helpful! Stop whining!
Farhan is a great prof. He integrates jokes into lectures and clearly enjoys the laughs in the room. He posts all of the powerpoints online but with blanks in sentences that are only revealed if you come to class so don't skip. Textbook isn't required to read, but you need to purchase it to take the mcmillan sapling homework. Overall really good
He says he doesn't try to confuse his students but his test do exactly that. The wording is very tricky. On top of that his tests are very unfair in terms of time. His slides have small grammatical errors that make them confusing.
I am an Economics major, needless to say I am passionate about the subject. I also consider myself a diligent student, however, I'll have to retake this course. Worst Professor I've experienced. Tests are like a new language. Did not upload grades and the online resource was terribly corrupt. Avoid taking ECON2020 will this prof!
Makes you do so many unnecessary stuff such as Case summaries and other stuff. Never tell you exactly what you can in exam. Also, a strict grader.
Awful professor and really don't care about his students. Very poor knowledge on the course content and a very bad speaker. Would recommend not to take this course or any course with him.
He claims the test isn't meant to trick you, but some of those questions said otherwise. Online assignments are free marks, including one optional one that can add up to 1.5% to your final grade. Gave lots of examples and added humor to lectures. Midterm 2 was too long for the hour given, but he made the LA pretty much free marks to make up for it.
He's hilarious and doesn't shy away from letting you know repeatedly how hard the final exam is. There are pop-quizzes and assignments in the class so it's a good idea to be caught up on the work at all times. Try to ace the midterm because it is much easier than the final.

Take everything he says with a grain of salt. He likes to exaggerate stuff. With practice you can easily get an A in this course. Midterm is fair and the final is kind of tricky.

we're literally in the middle of a global pandemic and he's cramming in new, testable material with only 2 classes left in the term he blows through chapters so fast with minimal explanation probably the worst prof I've ever had - will do my absolute best to avoid him for the rest of university

Professor Farhan Islam was a pretty good professor to take for a high level course! We had a small class and he tried his best to work with the students to accommodate during the pandemic. He answer his email within 24 hours and you can always approach him after class. I would recommend him as a professor.

Course is generally boring and uninteresting. Although the material is extremely easy, The grading scale makes a high grade unattainable. Youre marked best 7/10 quizzes, 2 papers (one individual and one group), MT and final. Farhan leaves his marking to the last minute so dont expect feedback quickly. Overall good prof for a boring course though

Farhan is a prof who is passionate about what he teaches, 1 midterm, a final exam, and lots of online assignments. He definitely has a witty personality but is a tough professor. The textbook is a must and prep for the midterms/exam as they are very challenging it took me by surprise, be prepared to memorize formulas & study hard for a good grade.
He was a nice prof and reasonable, very interested in the course material. Put in some time for the assignments/ group project, and study well for the midterm and especially the final. I'd recommend taking SCM 2160 with him over other profs since he was very reasonable and if you put in some work you can get a good grade.

pretty bad prof imo. his lectures are the worst 3 hours I have ever sat through. he takes boring concepts and makes them even more boring somehow. for exams, make sure you remember the tiniest details of each lecture. he uses scummy tactics to force people to come to class because he knows that nobody will come if they had a choice. quit teaching
He really cares for his students. You can always go for his office hrs. If you have and question regarding a specific topic he will help you to understand the materials during his office hrs. He also gives practical examples to relate the course material. Have done 3 courses with him so far.
Nice professor, but tests are tough; no matter how hard I try, I always got bad grades. Questions are really tricky. A lot to memorize, and he would say he mentioned everything in class which is true, but can't remember all the things.
He will often ask a question to a class of 45+ students such as "who is a leader that inspires you and why?" and then make every single student answer the question before moving on. What a waste of time. He is also very bad about responding to emails in a timely manner. Super dry and awkward lecturer.
He always tries to give real-life examples instead of going solely with textbook. This might feel boring at times to some people, but it is really helpful when you go on to implement the lessons in professional life. If you are up to date with the class materials and lectures, you should be fine with the course.
Great professor overall! Really enjoy his dynamic teaching style that encourages students to reflect and share their experiences as it related to certain topics. Plus he's witty and makes even an online class fun!
Disorganized. Unsupportive. Stress Inducing. The course is not difficult. Yet, There is added complexity at work here. The course outline is a joke and he gives out grades as he pleases. The lectures are dull (READ THE TEXT). He regularly promises things in class and then goes back on his word leaving you stranded.
A really good professor, I must say. However, some points of interest that he knows how to teach, but some times showing off too much might give you the cringes, which should be set aside. He definitely knows what he is teaching and aiming at for the students, no questions about that. Accessible outside the class, which is always a bonus point.
He does a good job of engaging his students, especially during online lectures, but beware the final!!!! Will throw on stuff that has not been covered and is much different than midterms or other case studies
Don't recommend. His exams are not easy. You have to remember every single detail. Attendance and in-class exercises are super important.
This prof wasn't amazing but not bad at all! If you show up to class and write down the additional stuff he says, you'll be good for tests. The paper marking isn't very tough, and usually in APA. He is a pretty funny guy as well.

Avoid for SCM2160! Slides & lectures are super vague. Very textbook dependent so get ready for all of the reading. He responds to emails very fast but is entirely unhelpful. Wrote an email expressing my concerns for this class and asked for some advice & he completely disregarded it; definitely doesn't care about his students.
gave me an extension on a paper and then took it away the day the paper was due, never responded to emails and online lecture slides were very vague.
He missed so many class in my semester. Test are graded by TA, no feedback or anything. A BIG NOOOO.
The concepts aren't too bad but it's the quizzes that get me because they are tough, especially the wording. He is still an ok prof and I wouldn't mind taking another class from him but if you are planning to take GMGT 1010 with him make sure you look through the readings and additional resources he provides like websites and videos.

The tests were not relevant to almost anything he talked about in class. The group project was a basic find a business and analyze it, not relevant to almost anything discussed in class. He will talk a lot about his ample real world experience but I don't really buy it. Not the worst not the best.
He was ok from the start. However, he has so many classes that he needs to take on leave because of his knee surgery which takes a toll on the chapters we missed. He should file an EI leave if he has that many classes to miss. Also, he posts the video lecture last minute and does not keep up with the dates in his schedule. Would not take it again.
Cancels class for no reason at all (We had around half the classes we paid for), will not proceed with the lecture unless people answer his stupid questions (even if nobody knows the answer), lied about keeping attendance, will use terminology not taught in class in graded assignments. Test not relevant to class, just copied from online assignments
Students depend on their prof's to provide them with a quality education, and when a prof fails to fulfill their obligations like prof Farhan, it reflects poorly on the prestigous institution as a whole. It appears that Professor Farhan is not meeting the standards expected of him as a faculty member, because he cant seem to show up to lectures
Honestly the worst class I've taken. We have not had a full week of lectures all year. He cancels class all the time and a few times it has been hours before. His quizzes were not relevant to anything he talked about in class or even the textbook. He doesn't put in any extra effort to help his students and is unmannerly in his emails.
This course is honestly fairly easy, but his teaching method and his attendance were so poor it made the course difficult. And he barely replied to my emails which was irritating to say the least.
Cancelled more classes than he taught. Ridiculous that I paid for this class just for him to not show up. Class went to the department and they were not happy with him but no changes come of that.
This was a super hard course, the tests and final exam was much harder than anything taught to us in class or the preparation assignments the whole class was caught completely off guard. Reading the textbook isn't enough you must know the terms and know how to apply them and different wordings and examples for the terms too.
Prof cancelled a lot of classes due to health issues which impacted the pace of the syllabus. His lectures are good, using real life examples to explain concepts. There is an assignment for each chapter. The prof provides practice papers before exams. Although most questions are similar to assignments and the paper, tests can be hard.

Prof Islam is not bad. He knows the materials and his lectures are very important and it is highly recommended to attend since he has attendance marks and you gain a lot from the lectures. if you attend the lectures you will get an A+. He is knowledgeable and talks about politics which makes him seem like a know it all and arrogant.

Farhan puts no effort into teaching, his notes are horrible, his exams are often based on irrelevant info and formatted terribly. Makes the class much harder than it should be. His lectures are mildly interesting but often dont help at all when it comes to studying. Just take another prof for your own sanity, you will not enjoy courses with his guy
Farhan's lectures are decent. He tries to be funny and engaging but often is very boring. His exams are very badly formatted and he grades them really hard. He's not clear about what's gonna be tested and doesn't provide enough in-class examples. If you have the choice of taking this class with someone else, please do, as he is a risk for your GPA.
Tests were inconsistent in difficulty and his lecture notes were not very helpful when trying to study, a lot of the material did not match the test questions. He is a nice professor, makes jokes and has fun but I would not take a course with him again.
I have taken another class with him before & my experience was okay but for this course, he made it way harder than it should be. His lectures were somewhat easy to follow & but he didn't prepare us at all for the two midterms & final. There wasn't enough practice & in-class examples, especially for calculations so everyone went into it blindly.
If you have the choice of taking a class with Farhan Islam, rethink your life decisions. His syllabus was inconsistent, his lectures were terrible, and if you missed a class, the lecture notes were absolutely zero help. You can tell he puts no effort into his lecture PowerPoints as well. This man is a risk for your GPA.
Egotistical professor. Do not take a course with him if you actually need to learn the class material. He cancels class quite often and does not make up any course material in any other fashion. Also makes you purchase an online textbook that is not cheap for some assignments that you can score 100 on (multiple attempts).
Supply Chain Management with Professor Islam was the worst class I have taken so far. His lectures are somewhat engaging & informative, but this gives you zero help on his exams. I did every single reading and attended every class and still was underprepared for his exams. You can study as much as you want, but nothing prepares you for his final.
His midterm is very similar to the samples, if you practice is easy to get a high grade on the midterm. In this course you need to practice a lot, he gives a lot of samples of the exams. Really good profesor, easy to understand. i will recomend you take this course with him.
Hes a nice guy and a decent lecturer, he would joke around with us which was good because the content itself is not very interesting. He would highlight specific concepts and problems that would likely show up on the exams so nothing was very surprising. I would not mind taking a class with him again in the future.
Professor Farhan Islam,is a very knowledgeable teacher. He gives practical examples and makes the class very attractive to attend. He teaches with sincerity. He is one of the best in the economics. He gives good grades also. Everyone should take his course.

I took Farhan a while ago, but I remembered that myself and others had a very hard time following along during his lectures as he would ramble on and on about his own businesses and make a lot of jokes. He was also bad at explaining important concepts.
Not a good teacher. Assignment guidelines are unclear and vague. Hard to understand his accent for some people. Does not actively respond to student emails. Most if not all of your learning for this class will be done on your own time trying to understand PowerBI.
Terrible professor who moves too fast and makes no sense. Lectures are him just yapping about nonsense that covers too much information per class. Will never take another class with Farhan.
IDM 2020 was very confusing with Farhan. It seemed like nobody in the class knew what to do for any of the assignments and tests because of lack of instruction. The class is very (take home)test and assignment heavy and you will be working on assignments worth only 2% of your grade for hours just for him to not get the grades back to you for months
Professor Farhan's lectures are hit-or-miss, but you can make up for it with the textbook and unstuck study. Tests are challenging, so don't slack on studying. Overall, the class is manageable with the right preparation.

Get ready for the hardest exams in your life for the easiest course and subject. He makes the easiest things hard and critical. Do not take his courses please.
He doesnt teach what he puts on the tests and tests were worth 80% of grade. He also didnt show up to the tests so couldnt ask questions.
he's hard to understand with his strong accent but you get used to it. he's funny and makes jokes during his lectures and is very knowledgeable. But he's hard to follow along with and his tests can be hard as well
The teaching style is confusing with off-topic examples and unclear explanations. Questions aren't answered well, and tests are poorly worded and don't reflect the lectures. Slides lack useful content for studying. A major final project change was mentioned only once in class and not clarified. Office hour requests were denied. I do not recommend.
This guy is so chill bruh, makes a bunch of jokes and teaches in a way that is easy to understand. He will fight to include cheat sheets and stuff for your exams. Test are hard asf but that's just how the course is. Just lock in, and put faith in Farhan.

Professor Farhan Islam is one of the best professors I've met at UFM. He is very helpful, explains clearly, and makes studying easier. His marking is fair and if you attend classes, it's easy to do well. Just make sure not to be late to his class.

absolutely the worst professor I have had in Canada , he does not seem to care about students asking questions after class and just wants to leave. He always tries scaring his students of how brutal his exam can be and makes it harder for us , last winter he uploaded the final exam prep a night before the 2160 exam ( which was not easy ).
Farhan always has negative things to say about his exams , tries to stress his students. He is very quick and hard to understand. Moreover , he doesn't seem to benefit his students from his office hours or even from a simple question asked after class. My advice would be to study it on your own as the prof would only make things worse.

Farhan himself isn't a bad professor. He's very kind and I personally think he was very generous by extending due dates for the class. However GMGT 2070 is so ridiculously boring. He tried his best to make it engaging but it didn't help. The tests aren't hard by any means but participating and focusing is by far the hardest part of this class.
You can tell hes a good guy but hard to understand and prepare for exams plus lectures were pretty boring.
