Very nice. Knows alot about math. Very helpful with tests, checks your answers and tells you which ones you got wrong so you can redo it.

Fari is a great teacher. If you struggle in Math, she is the one to take. Has a real gift for making tough algebra understandable!

Fari is one of the best teachers in the math department. She is very patient and really wants to help every student. Her exams are very fair. She really can help a person understand math.

The guy with the last post is clueless and obviously has some beef with this teacher on a personal level. I took 2 classes with this professor and found her to be extremely adept, prepared and gifted at presenting the material in understandable terms.

One of the best professors I have ever had! She is clear when giving examples, and she is always there to help! She has office hours and appears in the math center for tutoring if you need to talk to her or receive help. She is also very generous with partial credit, and the reviews she gives out will tell you what you need to know for the exam.

She is pretty good. She will definitely help you learn this if you have had problems in the past. Generally, I just sat in her class and did the homework during the lectures. She also never complained that I came in 20 minutes late every day. Very cool teacher.

Very good at making math easy to understand. Gives you a review that is similar to the test and makes it very easy to pass her class if you study the review before the test.

She is one of the best Palomar College math teachers. She makes math easy, has lots of office hours and is super helpful. Her tests are not too hard, she gives lots of partial credit. Take her if you can.

I hated math before this class, she did a good job of making me like it. Do the homework, and ESPECIALLY do the pre-test worksheet... it is practically the same thing as the test!!! She teaches very well, and I recommend her for people who don't like math.

I didn't pass the class with a C or better... because I'm bad at math, but she is clear on her materials and one thing to remember and that is to look in the book before a test, that will help you in math. I eventually passed out of math and am now at UCI. You will enjoy her class even if you are bad at math.

No nonsense math professor who also runs the math lab. Open to student needs, is flexible and works with you. Is quite intelligent and will meet you more than half way in your pursuit of mathematics. Great professor.

I was out of school for almost 10 years and I took math 15 to retrain my brain in math. She made it very easy to learn the materials and she always got back to you if you e-mailed her. Shes a very good teacher.

I hated math - now I am even considering changing my major. I did the self-taught class: lots of self-discipline and hours outside of the lab, but worth every second. All her tutors in the lab were extremely helpful if needed. The only problem was the textbook was sometimes a little unclear and confusing - thanks for the tutors!!!!

I love the self-taught classes, I learn math better without the lectures. You have to buy a CourseCompass code but you can get them cheap on amazon/ebay. Too bad they don't have 100-level Math self-taught!! The staff in the MLC are great! And i like how you can work at your own pace.

I am currently enrolled in the Self-Taught Math 60 Course. Even though there are hundreds of students currently enrolled in math every semester, Prof. Towfiq finds ways to give every student the attention they need. She was able to give me a reality check and get me back on task when I started falling out of schedule. I really appreciate her :)

Amazing tracher.

She is absolutely fantastic! I always struggled with math in highschool, but self taught seems to be perfect for me. Not only is Towfiq there, but many other tutors are constantly in the lab to help you. It is so laid back and they are all great at what they do!!

prof. Towfiq is amazing. she will bend over backwards to help you. dont hesitate to ask her for help. she is always willing to help you even if you need help 100 times. deserves prof. of the year award!! =)

Professor Towfiq is an outstanding woman. She is patient, knowledgable, and accessible to all of her students. She will listen to your concerns and will offer logical solutions. She will share from her experience as a student when your problems aren't math-related. She's pure gold.

I took this class as a self-taught class. Now I am majoring in English so Math has been an enemy of mine for a long time but the math center was amazing. Everyone is so helpful and friendly especially prof. Towfiq. Don't be intimidated by "self-taught". If I can do it, anyone can.

I took the self taught 60 class as a review before taking 110. The course requires 60 hours over a semester, or 4 hours a week, although I don't think attendance will weigh on your grade. You will take 5 online quizzes and 5 tests in the math lab. Great class for review.

Professor Towfiq is a great professor! She truly wants to help all of her students pass 110. She is a good teacher, the homework assignments are short, and the tests are exactly the same as the reviews. In my opinion, she's the best choice for math 110. You'll learn the curriculum without it being a huge burden. Good professor. Take her.

THIS IS THE ONLY COLLEGE ALGEBRA TEACHER YOU SHOULD TAKE AT PALOMAR!!!Believe me,I finally passed (after three attempts) after I took her class.She give very clear notes,the practice tests are the EXACT same as the exams,which is extremely helpful,and she makes herself available 24/7 for her students.Devoted to her job,an amazing teacher!!!

Towfiq also runs the math center and can explain any problem to any student so that they can understand. She KNOWS what she is talking about and makes the notes and homework available online, no dragging around a heavy book. I liked her so much I will take her again if I can. I highly recommend this class especially if you struggle with math!

BestMathTeacher HANDS DOWN. Math was never an easy subject UNLESS I had a good teacher. So trust me when I say she's GREAT from someone who took Math 110 three times.. man, I wish I took her sooner compared to the other ones I've taken! Towfiq does have a light accent, but you'll barely notice it. She's very thorough and detailed during lectures!

I took this class self paced. I didnt have any problems until more then halfway through the semester. The material got tough. So I made an appointment to meet with the instructor and she adjusted my test deadlines and helped me learn the material. She is a very good instructor

Amazing instructor. Has study guides provided to help you prepare for exams. I was bad at math before this semester, but after taking her class I have developed a new way to study and prepare for exams for the rest of my college career. Take this instructor, she is amazing.

This was the self taught class with mandatory Lab hours. Professor Towfiq was always helpful and patient when I had any questions. Open door policy and allowed me to reschedule an exam when I became seriously and had to miss an entire week and then some. Great professor! (p.s. I hate math but very much enjoyed the pace of the self taught classes)

My experience is with her self-taught course. Excellent professor. I was able to progress on my own freely with the knowledge that her and her staff were there at any time to assist me. She always went over tests if you needed it and offered many opportunities for makeup. Discipline is necessary to complete the course, but it's more than possible.

I actually took Math 60 as self taught-however- she is in charge of the Math lab and always available - her tutors are extremely helpful and patient. there is always someone there to help you if you are stuck- and I know I asked the dumbest questions. The college ought to get her some new chairs for the testing room though.

I love Fari, she is the best math teacher ever. She posts all notes online and goes over everything so clearly. her patience is unbelievable, and she is passionate about math. She is a nice lady too with a sense of humor. Her accent is mild but after a while you giggle at it. She helps with questions and reviews exactly what will be on the tests.

I love Fari. I failed math in high school and now I got 100% on an algebra test. I go into the math center with my questions and she has no problem going over it step by step. Do the homework, take advantage of the math center and you will pass with flying colors.

Where do I even begin with this professor. SHe is the most amazing professor at Palomar. She is always there for you and always puts the students first. I always hated math until I took it with her. Now I would take it for fun just to be in her class. She will sit with you for hours during her office hours to make sure you understand the material.

She is amazing.. best math teacher that I have ever had. Math is very difficult for me and I got an A. I met with her before every test and she went over the study guide with me step by step. She sets aside A LOT of time to meet with students. Take advantage of it!

Prof. Towfiq is absolutely the best math teacher I have ever had. Her lectures are clear and concise, and she provides her lecture notes online in case you skip a class or two. Her study guides are perfect, practice them and you will pass the tests. She is also the hardest working and most dedicated teacher I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Fari Towfiq is a really great professor. She really understands her students and knows if your struggling. She's willing to help her students that are struggling through math. I'll admit depending on the intense math course you take. It's really tough but I highly recommend for those that want to take the intense math courses or transfer.

Professor Towfiq is such a great instructor, she made calculus such a great learning experience. Lectures are long, but well worth it if your willing to stay. Test are similar to all her practice reviews & in test class practice. Also she offers extra credit on test review days if you happen to stay. I would take her classes again.

If you have a hard time with my like I do, do not be afraid. I took her self taught math class online, and i struggled with the lectures. She was always there for me in the math center to help. She will take the time to go over anything that you do not understand and cares about your grade. self taught only has 4 quiz's, 4 tests, and a final.

She has a very heavy accent which can make understanding her difficult sometimes. Her practice tests are basically replicas of her tests. Gives many extra credit opportunities. Homework is on MyMathLab. Book isn't necessary except for the access code. Easy grader and is almost always in the math center (office hours). Would recommend.

This professor is amazing. Wow she cares so much about her students and will do everything she can to help. I fell behind due to being sick and she did everything she could to help me get back on track and pass. Always there to help. Very well organized class. Not only the greatest professor I have ever had, but she is genuinely one of the nicest people I have met as well. She truly cares about your success and will do whatever she can to help you succeed. I really struggled with this Intermediate Algebra class, but with her help and support I will finally be passing the course after my 3rd attempt.

What is nice about this class is the flexibility and replay abilities. You can redo the homework and the Practice tests as many times as you like. Anyone who takes this class should budget around 10-12 hours a week. You get partial credit for the work that you show on the written exams. The in person exams reviews are very helpful.

She is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. I took this class as a duel enrollment class, and it was very difficult for me personally but I can't tell you how much she truly cares about her students. She will take time to sit with you and try to figure out the best way possible to help you and make sure you're successful in the class.

Really nice teacher, well respected. I highly recommend her hybrid class. You wont regret it. Do your HW, easy system to navigate and not difficult. I even finish before the end of the semester all my HW and tests. Take notes of everything. We used MathLab, awesome.

Taking her hybrid class consists of taking the class by depending on the textbook. in Hybrid, you will not see her lecture, but you can count on her if you need help or there will be tutors available to help She is very caring and will help you with anything. She is very understanding and will provide an extension if you need it. Best professor!

I took her hybrid course for trig. It isn't too bad, her 3rd exam though, for the proofs and using Pythagorean identities, make sure that you study them well because it seems like the average for that exam was a 9/22. She's ok she respond quickly during school hours 6-2 any time after that you may have to wait a little while.

This class was relatively ok, I'm a straight A student but received a C in her summer fast track trig class. BEWARE exam 3, hardest test I've ever had to take. Could have gotten a better grade if I studied more, you only have like 4 days to learn 2 chapters worth of content. If you can't study purely online take different class! PS: MYMATHLAB SUCKS
