she is the best teacher u could have for calculus. very helpful and she si willling to curve. she is smart. u cant ask for anyone better
very unhelpful and made no sense. didn't allow for appropriate amount of time for taking tests, instead only gave you the last 10 mins before class ended to take a 2 page quiz!
Very thick South Asian accent, but if you listen closely you'll hear everytyhing you need to hear. Sometimes she makes a mistake, but she almost always corrects it right away before any of us are able to pick up on it. Always willing to answer your questions very thoroughly. Very respectful of her classes.
she is very caring and helpful. eventhough she looks tough but she is not.
you cannot understand a single word this woman speaks. i am average at math, no genius, but going to this class would not benefit me. i had to teach myself. she is understanding if you miss a test, though.
Her weekly quizzes were a pain, but they did end up helping when you tried to prepare for a test. In class she can appear somewhat timid, but if you go see her in her office the lady will friggin talk your ear off. All in all, a brilliant nice lady who will meet you half way. Plus, she gives extra credit for attendence and a lil hw assignment.
You may find it hard to understand her the first month, but she is a great teacher. I just wish she spoke English very well. Excellent professor.
never take her in the summer session although a nice teacher... she freakin taught sections ahead.. when we had no clue what was going on.. too freakin hard man
This course is pretty easy. She can be hard to understand sometimes. She gives a straight forward lecture every class. Not much interaction with students.
She is the best teacher ever, Make sure you attend her class, don't listen to her, just take the notes, You will do good. Some people complain that they can't understand her accent, well brother get used to listening to diff accents, caz temple hires all the foreign teachers, atleast she is better than other foreign teacher. Ex- Chan Lin (Phyics 87
BAD!!!!! I couldn't understand a world she said!!!!! I usually get A's on all my math classes and lets just say it I got a C/D. Her quizzes are hard and we have a quiz every other class. She is very nice... but her indian accent is hard to understand!!!!!!
Nice and very helpful teacher.
She is the best teacher ever. Make sure you attend her class and takes all notes. Ready to help all the time.
She put me to sleep a number of days. Quizzes keep you studying and are good indication of what tests questions are like.
She has a thick accent and is nearly impossible to understand. I got As in previous college math classes and am struggling to pass this one. Homeworks aren't counted in the grade, and the quizzes include the most difficult problems from the section. Avoid her unless you can understand Indian accents and are very well-versed in the prerequisites.
Great teacher and very nice! Had her for Calc I & II. Tough classes but she gives you the best examples to follow for homework and tests. Problems from class notes and homework are basically what you can find on the test. So take good notes, go to class, do the homework and you will go well in this class!
She is a very nice professor and really cares about her students doing well. You have to do the homework in order to pass or else you will fail everything and hate the class. She is always available for extra help and preps her students for the midterm and final. I have had her the past 2 semesters and have learned a whole lot!
Prof. Chaudhry was one of the best math teachers I have had. Explains material clearly and gives examples that help with the homework. YOU have to do your part and do the problems. She does have an accent, but after a while you get used to it.
Dr. Chaudry was the best prof I had for math at Temple. She taught the material very well, although she had an accent, you will get used to it. She did many examples that reflected on the material that was likely to be on the tests. She definetely prepares you for the final and EXTREMELY HELPFUL outside of class. I def. recommend her for Calc 2.
Prof. Chaudry did many examples that reflected on the material that was likely to be on the tests. She definetely prepares you for the final and EXTREMELY HELPFUL outside of class. I def. recommend her for Calc 2!
If you are dumb, take her as your teacher. She will be helpful a lot to you. If you will follow her and do what she wants you to do and do homework and give every quizes, you will score A grade.
Her english is a little bad which sometimes makes her hard to understand. Her quizzes are hard but them completely prepare you for the tests.
people are saying that you get over her accent, but it was too distracting for me. i couldnt understand most of what she was saying and had to rely on other resources to learn the material. also takes attendance every class.
Great Calc teacher! Uses lots of examples. Weekly quizzes get annoying but make you do your homework. Quizzes and review sheets will prepare you perfectly for the exams. Ample office hours, very helpful to students that ask for help. She has an accent but if you have half a brain you will get used to it. Give her a break, she is a great teacher.
Quizzes are EXACTLY from the homework, so they are not difficult to complete. Attendance policy is rigorous and she does have that "indian accent". But with those obstacles overlooked, she is a phenomenal teacher
She is the best math teaacher in the world. Only because of her I took it in the summer. I had her for calc 2. Her quizzes are very helpful and she prepares you well. If you want to pass this class go to leacture. Her examples are better than text book. She will help you and she gives you typed solution for quizzes and even # homework.best teacher
If want to understand math take her. people who complains are the ones who don't do any work. her grading turnoround time is pretty quick and she is a teacher who wants you to learn. I used to hate math but after taking calc 3 i love math again and is considering taking higher level math classes.
Best teacher in the math department. Her notes that she gives you are perfect, and her quizzes are very straight forward. She will give you the best chance to get an A can get at Temple. She is always willing to help during her office hours which is also extremely helpful.
Prof. Chaudhry is decent. Her accent is a little distracting but she gives alot of examples and her quizzes are like the HW.
Very organized, but difficult to understand. Lots of clear, step-by-step examples. Sections tend to outperform all others for test grades. If you attend every class, pay attention, and read the book a bit, there's no excuse to get below a "B".
Great Math teacher, if you do your assigned homework, ask her for help, no excuse to do fail. If you are open minded the accent is very easy to get used to, one of the greatest math teachers at Temple. RESPECT.
I found her quizzes difficult. You MUST do the homework in order to do well on quizzes. Sometimes her quizzes consist of problems she did not cover in class, so if you did not do your homework you might not do so well. Goes very fast and covers a lot each class so make sure you attend. I wouldn't say she's a great teacher, but she's not the worst.
I LOVE HER! Her notes are amazing. Many professors in the math department teach you the material but not how it should be solved on the test. All her quizzes are based off her homework so if you don't do all of them & go over difficult ones, you won't do well. This class was a repeat for me and for the first time I understood the subject. A+
She's a great teacher, but her quizzes were a challenge for me. She explained everything very clearly which helped a lot.
She is amazing. It's as simple as that. Explains concepts so clearly, quizzes are esay, and she preps you well for the exams. Take her. You won't regret it.
Good Teacher. Hard but when the exam comes around it seems easy because of how hard her quiz's are.
Very nice lady and helpful. she does however have a very strong accent. her quizzes are tough but based right from the notes. the homework is annoying because it is online. you must do well on the quizzes to do well in her class. she makes you feel dumb sometimes when you ask questions too, but otherwise she is super sweet!
I don't know how this lady has gotten good comments. I can't understand her and she's not even capable of saying the number "2" she says "do". Anyway, her quizzes are brutal and test is even worse. I say steer clear of Faranza.
This is what you need to do in this class to get an A. GO to class and take notes. The examples she uses in the notes is what is on the quiz just different numbers. webassign you can bs on. test 1 will be easy, test 2 will be hard, and the final will be in the middle. literally do the review problems for each exam and youll get an A
Extremely difficult teacher to have for calculus. Did not explain concepts clearly and textbook does no better. She provides many examples but does not entertain questions very much and when she does it is usually a 10 min convuluted mess of broken english and math terminology id never heard of. Also consistently puts the class down for low marks.
Great teacher! tests are fair for the most part. All quizzes are based right off her lecture notes so it is mandatory to go to every class. She prepares you well for the exams and her quizzes so just go to class everyday take notes and do webassign and you should definitely get at least a B
Couldn't understand her at all when she spoke. Hard to ask her questions and I ended up failing the class.
Unless you are familiar with calculus already then do not take her. She emphasizes on the easy stuff and speeds through the difficult stuff. She rushes through everything and hardly goes over any homework problems in class an wonders why no one understands anything.
tough quizzes to prepare for test.has accent, get over it ,could be worse.actually care about teaching you.host her own review for test.tries to pack as much as possible into class till very end.i would take her for calc 2,which is said to be the harder than calc 3.do her assigned hmwk to prep for quiz.writes small and in cursive.
She is an amazing professor. She does have a heavy accent but her notes make up for it. Just pay attention to her notes in class. Solve the problems on her notes and then do the hw and you will do good on her quizzes. Exams are easy becuase she really prepares you for them.
Very hard to understand at first, then you kind of get used to it. Not really though. She goes very fast through all of the material, combined with the heavy accent, provides for a difficult learning experience.
initially thought it would be difficult to learn with her accent, but she prepares her students the best for exams out of all the calc 1 teachers. Holds extra review sessions outside of the MSRC ones and gives complete and thorough notes. Really cares about her students. Quizzes are hard but good for test prep. Do the book hw as well as online hw
Once you get used to her accent, you will find she is such a nice and excellent professor. Her notes are really helpful. She even arranges her own review sections. Take her if you are really willing to learn Math. Cal is not easy. Try your best!
Very very good teacher. Pay attention and ask her as much questions as you need and she will answer you.
took her for honors calc 1 and she is a great teacher overall. Her accent is not a big deal...Her quizzes aren't too hard. She encourages everyone to do the book problems but I just did webassign and I was fine. She prepares you well for the final (better than all the other teachers). And she is always willing to help. Def recommend for calc 1!
She is the best math teacher. Do the assigned homework problems and you will pass with a great grade. Her quizzes are similar to the questions on the test so be sure to review those. She is very helpful but you have to ask for help when you are struggling.
The best teacher I have ever seen. I did not know people can explain things that well how she did. I wish my chem teacher knew how to teach like her.
Take her and don't second you're mind!!!!!! she's the best math teacher I've ever had, she never complains about how much we ask! she keeps answering, she prepares you for each exam and her quizzes are very helpful because all the question you see in the quiz are gonna be pretty much similar to the ones in the exam.. guys just take her trust me.
She is the best math teacher ever at Temple. I took this class in the summer and quizzes were 2-3x a week and 2 exams (and one final). The quizzes were straight forward and were good practice for the exams. I got A's on both exams and most of the quizzes and ended up with a B+. Do the book problems she assigns. I would recommend.
she is the best math professor at temple. she starts by going over the homework, then she introduces the new material. she gives detailed explanation then provides examples. simply put, if you take her, you will understand calc.
Her accent is a little bit hard to get used to at first. Her quizzes are hard but they will prepare you for the exams. She is really nice and always eager to help. Do her homework, study for the quizzes and you can get an A
She is a great professor who has a lot of knowledge in her subject which allows her to explain the intricate concepts of calculus with ease to students. Her teaching style is really good and she prepares you well for the test as she explains all the concepts properly with various examples all the time. Although she has a thick accent, she's best!
SUPER thick accent.
She is a terrible teacher. DON"t take her. She just finds ways to take points off even though you were right.
Heavy accent, chuckles at her own jokes. Explanations are unnecessarily long and condescending outside of lectures, which consist of Chaudhry doing 4-5 questions step-by-step with little clarification. Unfair grader, considers details instead of aptitude. You will have to shell out $125 for online Calc homework, worth only 4% of your grade. Avoid.
She's an absolutely AMAZING teacher, much better than any other Calc 1 teacher. Yes, she has an accent but grow up guys, it's not bad. Extremely fair teacher, clearly states what's going to be on the quizzes and test. Do the HW, study for the quizzes and tests, and you'll do great. Yes, she does go a bit overtime but we have a lot of info to cover
Very painful lectures. She's very hard to take seriously. Incredibly frustrating experience overall.
Worst professor I've had at Temple, and I took Exploring Music. Unorganized. She has no idea how to pace the class correctly, we were 3 sections behind the week before the exam, with three quizzes that week. WebAssign due the night before the exam. Incorrect answers on the Exam Review Sheet. This is ridiculous. Wish I could rate her 0/5.
Amazing professor. I took her for both Honors Calc 1 and Honors Calc 2. She jumps right to the equations and concepts we need to know and then gives all the different types of examples we would need to know. Quizzes reflected the homework, so even though homework was small percentage, doing those problems really helped to pass this class.
She gets side-tracked a lot. She has admitted that she teaches Calc 2 slower than any other teacher and always ends up with her classes being behind all of the other ones. Harsh critic and overall very awkward.
Goes through how to do each type of problem step by step and is willing to help with questions. Her accent is not as much of an issue as some have stated.
The accent isn't too bad, she's just an awkward lady. A lot of work if you want to do well, but not impossible. I personally don't think she is the best at explaining things but it might be the language barrier. Class is boring but its calculus so thats pretty much unavoidable.
Very clear and very good at explaining the concepts. Puts a lot of effort into pacing the class so we spend the most time going over the most important/difficult topics. It's possible to earn over a 100 on every quiz and test, and it's definitely possible to succeed without doing the homework. She prepares you well for the test and is a nice person
She is an awesome teacher! Very wholesome and genuine I really enjoyed her class! Her lectures are long and vigorous but when u put in some effort its pretty easy to get a good grade.
She is extremely dedicated to her students; extra credit built into your exams. Pay attention and you'll pass- I had one of the lowest grades, if not THE lowest, in the class at a B+. Accent is not a big issue- you should adjust by the 2nd week. She will review where we struggled on a quiz and how to fix it for the exam. Some quizzes are take-home.
Calculus is naturally a tough subject, and while Chaudhry is very intelligible on the topic, her explanations often convoluted the information for me. She is incredibly sweet, but her teaching style doesn't agree with everyone. That being said, the course is graded on just a few major exams, and if you do the study guides, you should be fine!
I had to retake Calc3 and didn't understand anything AT ALL the first time. Turns out she's an amazing professor who thoroughly explains everything and provides many examples. Builds in extra credit to every quiz and if you do the "optional" homework you will do well. The lowest grade was around a 78, and I finished with a 100 after failing before.
Professor Chaudhry's class was extremely frustrating. My class was 9 am MWF, she would continually post 25 min - 45 min videos at 10 pm Sunday night and expect us to watch them before Monday. This happened several times. She is not the best at explaining material, but that's expected because of the content and the language barrier. Take anyone else
She has an accent which takes some time getting used to. Personally I would always zone out in class and go on my phone, but I made sure to copy down all the notes at least. Because of this, I ended up self teaching myself this whole course but I have an aptitude for math so it wasnt bad. Easy A but if youre good at math as my friends suffered.
Honestly, take ANY other professor for calc 2. Chaudhry was not good at teaching any of the the material and she made the online transition for this year very difficult. If you take her, you WILL be teaching yourself the entire course. She is not understanding at all and does not provide good advice when you ask for help.
Professor Chaudhry is a really nice lady. Some people don't like her class but its just the material that is hard. She is a good professor and she's a fair grader. She includes an extra credit point in almost all of her quizzes so you can get over a hundred. Pay attention before exams because she goes over everything you need to know to do well.
She goes through most problems in class & assigns similar ones on the quizzes. Just have to practice and teach yourself over again. If you're retaking great choice and she is funny!
I didn't have her for the course, but her exam grading is just bad because she doesn't explain why I receive the score. The exams is what makes us dislike all professors, including herself. It's been frustrating when professors like him and other calc professors are failing students on purpose. Her reviews is alright with a few questions explained.
She called the students in my class stupid and unable to learn. Also said we were useless if you dont know the math. Goes over problems in class but does NOT explain the process well. Refuses questions in class. Does not allow the class to participate in answering for problems. Worst Prof Ive ever had. NEVER recommend her. Period.
I do not know what people do not like her. I loved her. She was a phenomenal teacher. She does have a different teaching style that takes a second to understand, but once you do, she is an amazing professor. If you have a chance to take her class, it is totally worth it. She was extremely helpful in office hours and an overall great teacher.
She is a fantastic teacher. She goes over all of the material and gives examples and if you need help she has office hours almost every day of the week. The quizzes are predictable and there is often extra credit point added and most are online.
Its true that she is nice and a good person. The problem she has is that she does not explain the material well, lacks the ability to answer students questions efficiently, and tends to be boring when teaching the material. She is a good person, not a great professor for Calculus.
She is definitely a professor who genuinely wants you to learn Calculus II, knowing it is normally deemed the most difficult of the three Temple offers. She is not a super warm person, but if you approach her in office hours with good questions, she warms up to you a bit more one on one. She is strict though, so don't expect special treatment
The professor clearly is very knowledgeable about Calc and you will get a solid grasp of the subject but she was very demeaning in class and it made a lot of us scared to ask questions. We would ask questions and her response always made us feel like we were stupid, which made her unapproachable for most of the semester.
Professor Chaudhry does not care at all about students learning. Constantly went on rants blaming our class for being behind when she is the only person who has said a word all class. Doesn't take questions in class or grade homework on time, so you dont know if you're doing something wrong until you fail the quiz. Would not recommend if avoidable.
Avoid at all cost, her accent is extremely hard to understand and gives so much homework that is graded on correction and not completion. Also gave 15 mins at the end of class to take a quiz, which you were rushed to finished.
Professor Chaudhry was overall pretty solid in teaching the material, given how difficult calc 2 is. Her quizzes and exams are very easy as long as you stay on top of things. Was also caring and wanted her students to do good. The only downside is that she can come off as intimidating sometimes and is not the best in answering questions
She was a great professor in the way of knowing how to teach calc 2. It is a very hard class in general, so sometimes people blame the professor. Just do the homework problems, and you will be fine. Tests and quizzes are what you expect.
Calculus is already a hard topic especialyl honors but she makes it better. accent is not hard to understand after getting used to it. course is very test heavy. 3 huge test that determine grade but they are fairly easy compared to the quizzes. Lots of homework
She will make sure you fully understand the material. She was very helpful and was always encouraging questions and explaining difficult concepts in easy ways.
She cares about her students. Her accent is a little but heavy and difficult to understand but once you get past that she is a fantastic teacher. She is extremely helpful and going to her after class is definitely a good idea. Show up to class, show that you care, try your best, and you will do well. You will get out of the class what you put in.
One of the best professors at Temple! She puts so much effort every class and she is very caring. Almost every lecture she would give us packages with theory and examples and if there were any difficult concepts that couldn't be explained enough in class, she would hold meetings outside class and she would make sure that her students understood
Really nice lady. I took calc over the summer so the homework was not collected. She gives good instruction but you should look at the material before class because her accent can be heavy and the material goes quickly. Also the fastest grader ever. graded our exams the next day, same with most quizes.
She cares alot on how you solve the answer, In the beggining of the semester working on limits, she took off lots of points because (example) I was substituting 0.1 and -0.1 as the limit approached 0 from one direction but apprarently that wasn't the proper way to solve it even if the answer was right. She isn't horrible, just very mid
Homework always says "Couple of problems will be selected to be graded for completeness, effort, and correctness. The rest will be graded only for completeness and effort" But that's not true, it's actually graded by correctness only. Her explanations also never make sense, rating should be 2-3 not a 4.3, idk what the raters giving 5* are thinking
She is very elaborate when explaining concepts and is very accessible outside of class. I went outside of class to clarify certain concepts and she would explain them clearly. Despite her grading being very detailed, she wants you to understand why you have to solve a problem a certain way. Calc is difficult, but you get what you put in.
I'm not sure about this professor she knows the material for calculus but you don't learn anything much from her. She doesn't go over HW on what you did wrong and on the quizzes there always be a question from the next lesson that you learn little in class the next day before the quiz.
This professor grades homework very tough for no reason. The homework grade averages are like 75-85 which is bad. She grades these homework off completeness and correctness, get ready to do 50+ homework probm . These quiz problems don't even show up on these homework problems. These problems are in class lectures but you can't even understand her.
Prof speaks in broken english and thick accent which is hard to understand, lots of homework graded for correctness. Refuses to answer questions in class and lectures/writes on the board the entirety of class time+ I have not once gotten out of class any less than 5 minutes late due to her still lecturing, everyone leaves confused and lost.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR! Heavy accent, lectures are not followed for the HW, quizzes are like 2 or 3 subject we learn for the lecture, take too much class time, doesn't even help out with HW. Fired this professor immediately!!!!
This was my 2nd time taking Calc. First professor left me confused, but she was excellent. She explained concepts clearly, with well-organized guided notes, definitions, and problem-solving steps and worked through all problems on the board. She grades HW for accuracy but it wasn't a big issue. Also I had no issue with understanding her accent.
Her lectures are very heavy. She gets off topic easily and her quizzes are not quite what we learned. Too many HW questions which by the way are supposed to help you on the quizzes. When she teaches for the exams she doesn't explain the formula on how you got the answer for the equation. Don't take this professor plus HEAVY ACCENT!!!
tbh she isnt terrible but she can be a bit confusing to understand but if you do the homework and show up too class you should do fine. her accent was a bit difficult to understand the first few weeks but you can start to understand it overtime, also self studying is another big thing in my opinion that's what helped me do well on the exams
She's a nice lady. Although sometimes it feels like she has an attitude if you don't understand something. A lot of homework assignments (which she grades thoroughly), quizzes every week, and moves on very quickly when teaching. Some days we'll have covered 3 sections and I haven't grasped the first one. Positives is she is lenient on due dates.
When she teaches it's really hard to understand what she's saying and when she writes on the board it doesn't follow along with what she tryna teach. The quizzes are easy if you understand the material of Temple Calc. But she just doesn't show she just says what she knows and except students to understand. Her Teaching method is horrible.
I already took calculus in high school so most of the class was review but she goes ridiculously slow with everything. She makes mistakes while doing examples in class that students repeatedly have to point out. Overall she was easy but I had to find creative ways to stay awake in the class.
Very thick accent which makes it hard to understand sometimes. She also lectures a lot and not really in an interesting way. In addition, whenever students ask her questions she doesn't really answer them so 99% of the time it's not worth asking in the first place.
She's not a good prof. Her accent is very heavy which makes it very hard to understand her. She's slow with her teaching we have one week left for our exam yet shes still going through sections with us instead of reviewing for the exam?? What she teaches is not the same as the hw or quizes. Makes mistakes while teaching. Gets mad when ppl ask her Q
Sorry meant one day for our exam not one week but yeah its horrible she should've wrapped it up like monday and reviewed for the EXAAMMM wednesday but yeah no and like its an exam not a quizz I'm scared I don't understand anything she says or teaches
She's nice and will help if you go to office hours or ask questions, but in lectures she explains things in a very overcomplicated way which makes it difficult to understand the concepts even when they're not very hard. You'll likely need to use tutoring or teach yourself how to do most of the work.
I can't stress enough about how much this professor suck. Heavy accent and posts a lot of homework. She often calls you out in class a lot for the stupidest reasons. she doesn't thoroughly explain the concepts and writes a bunch of stuff on the board expecting us to understand right away. Please please I beg you drop her course.
Horrendous … LITERALLLYYYY HORRENDOUSSSSSSSS…
Just no. Biggest regret was not dropping her class
