She is a joke! She would make a good kindergarden teacher, but even CCSU is too much for her :) I'm pretty sure she hates all the girls especially blonde once, so if you are a hot looking blonde chick consider taking some other class :)
She is misunderstood. She does talk alot about politics at the beginning of each class, but she does know here Computer Science. I thought that she had alot of knowledge, once you got through the 15 minute political speach.

She's really very nice and wants people to pass the class. If you do the work, and you don't mind the politics take her class (but don't let her know you're republican!!). but if you need your hand held, skip this class and find someone who thinks more like a teacher than like a computer scientist
If you're a republican hick that is afraid of an educated middleeastener's opinion then sit home and watch "fair and balanced" Fox News. If you want to learn something about computer science then take Dr. Abdollahzadeh's operating systems class.

Her class is wildly entertaining at times. Yeah she sticks politics in the middle of everything, and she has a reputation for being biased, but generally it's worth it. She knows her stuff and teaches concepts; on the tests she asks a lot so you are really challenged.

very politicaly bias even thou its a computer course. no computers in room. will go off on tangents about politics(democratic) not willing to help struggling students. anynone undecided from cs major stay away from her not easy at all. looking for a challenge here u go.
Thinking about taking this class? Think again friend. This teacher not only doesn't teach you anything you couldn't learn by reading the book, but spends the majority of the time speaking about her political beliefs and her family. She will take every opportunity to make fun of you, and class is boring, so I am writing these comments during class.
Horrible teacher...do not take her if you can help it! Makes fun of you if you don't understand something. No syllabus, no clue when exams are until last minute. Hard to follow along with, thick accent.
Lets just say if u want to keep up your GPA stay AWAY from her class! She is not clear with anything taught in class, makes fun of you when you don't understand something,,does not have any organization or syllabus and basically does not teach very well. In addition, half of the class failed. Remember that you were WARNED!! Take only if needed.

This teacher is pure evil. She is not midunderstood as one rater posted. She does not teach well at all and the tests are nearly impossible to pass unless you teach yourself the subject matter at home. If you are already enrolled in this class, DROP IT ASAP! And let the school know your opinion of her, she really should not be teaching.
She gets a bad rep alot... She uses many examples from life and other disciplines to provide a basis for relating to the subject matter. Her political rants are usually funny. She listens if you feel that you didn't get the proper grade on a test, if you make a valid argument. The work isn't simple, but its not hard either. I'd take her class again
DROP her class! The first two weeks are rediculously easy, but after the "free-withdrawl week" she OWNS you! HEAVY ACCENT, says concatenation like "Kun-caht-un-eh-shun". Forced to only learn from the book because she is absolutely useless as a professor. If you're planning on taking her, trust me, choose another professor.

Hard class but ez prof. She wont fail u. I showed up for her class about 10 times and got a C. She will threaten 2 fail u but wont, Everybody in class i talked 2 got at least a C. She told that 2 just about everybody. If ur not a CS major take her, U will do very lil and wont learn, but u wont get below C. U can just breeze by in her class.
She is the dumbest teacher ever. She tries to show you things on the computer and doesnt even do it right and then tries to play it off. Oh, also the second day she hit me. *sarcasm* great teacher... lol
Class started with 25+ students and ended with 13.Will teach material in class and will never ask it on tests,most questions will be material you never went over.Her English is broken and hard to understand.Comes to class unprepared and constantly changes what she's teaching in class becuase she wings it.Goes off on tangents,wastes time.

I did an intro to computer course with this professor, which should have been called intro to visual basic. The teacher was AWFUL! Do not take this class unless you already are a computer wiz, because this professor is the worst I've ever had by a LOT!
She can be very difficult to understand at times and will occasionally lecture about topics not related to computer programming. If you pay attention in class, learning the visual basic code is not difficult and you can get an easy A in this class. If you don't pay attention, you will be lost on the exams and she will fail you.
Poor communicator, unclear in speaking and in giving directions. You will likely have a heard time learning. After the class you may not have knowledge of the actual subject. Generally nice person, but not good at teaching (many other foreign professors in department are the same way). You need the textbook even though it's also bad. Good luck...

Good Teacher! The material on her exams are straight forward, and she goes over everything in class. She is hard to understand sometimes, because of her thick accent. She is extremely helpful if you ask! I think she gets a bad rep from all of the freshmen who are looking for someone to blame for their failures.

NOT the worst teacher in the world. Yes, she does have a thick accent but if you really pay attention you can follow her. Really cares about the students. I missed a test and the final and she let me make it up the next day. She was really funny with my class, telling people to "shut up" and nailing kids on the heads with books. Really a nice lady.
this class, for me, was REALLY hard to swallow. I am not a computer science major so i don't understand the whole "computer language" thing. This class was strictly math and used weird terms/programming. I got a D- in the class, when i really should have gotten a F. she'll pass you if your trying

She is a very nice woman with a huge heart, but not the best teacher to say the least. I did fine in the class but I know others in my class struggled. She's not impossible to learn under, you just need to be motivated to teach yourself when you don't understand everything.

didnt know much programming prior to this class, did a lot of self teaching. Not sure what the final outcome of my grade will be but it is a pretty hard class if you dont know Java beforehand.

Great person, but well past her prime with teaching. All she does is writes code on the board and expects you to understand the topic. Goes on irrelevant tangents in the middle of class. Does not have an accessible syllabus. I was accused of copying homework and was not given credit for homework that was my own. Try and find a different prof.
This professor is really useless. No worth taking a class with her. No subject. She thinks what she knows is right. Talks politics in CS class. Hates Americans all the time. Thinks she is great but not really. She is from the old school and not a good fit in Computer Science. Better she should take retirement.
Constantly went off about things that had nothing to do with the class. Was very difficult to follow in lectures. Ended up using the book heavily to teach myself. Sprung a research paper on us the week before she expected it due, saying it was on the syllabus (despite the syllabus not clarifying what she wanted the paper to be about). Avoid!
The professor knows here stuff, but it's hard for her to teach students who are still in the beginner stage. And someone rarely asks a question when she asks if everybody understood the topic. Which is a recipe for disaster. Her tests are really hard to prepare for, there is no study guide, and we don't know what to focus on. And also unorganized

I truly believe that this professor does not know how to write working Java code. She uses Microsoft Word to try to teach us code in class with MANY typos. She refuses to use a Java compiler, probably due to the fact that none of her code would actually run. Her lectures are pointless and her tests consist mainly of definitions instead of coding.
Professor Abdollahzadeh is a very nice professor. She comes off as mean, but is genuinely caring. However. Her lectures aren't very informative, and are disorganized. Her tests were so long that more than half the class didn't finish five problems. If you take any of her classes, know that you're expected to learn on your own. Read the text!
I took her last semester. Without a doubt: the worst professor I've ever had.
Prof. A is well-meaning, and she does know her stuff. As a teacher, she falls short and has her expectations set too high. I find myself having to teach myself all the material on my own time because her lectures are so disorganized. Please try to take the other professor who teaches this class. If you can't, be prepared to study harder than ever.
Dr. Abdollahzadeh is very caring. The course can be disorganized but the book will definitely help to stay on track and knowing what to expect. Dont listen to the students who complain about the professor writing in nothing but pseudo code bc thats what the course actually entails hence the text in the text book. Use the book and notes for tests.
Marks questions wrong when they're right and you frequently have to argue to get the grade corrected. 2 short exams and a final counts for 70%. For the exams, 3 people passed with a 65+ each time and the highest grade was an 77 out of 2 classrooms! DO NOT TAKE. She gives study guides that don't reflect the test. READ THE BOOK! If you miss one or two questions on her exams you'll end up with a 70% if you're lucky. Both sections are failing, idk what she's going to do to fix that. Unclear assignments, lectures consist of incoherent heavily accented babbling. Scribbles pseudocode gibberish on the board and expects you to understand. You will be teaching yourself.

Do not take her course. If you have to take, then do not try to conquer her course. Just write down the topics and teach yourself from outside sources. She just gives away grades randomly and as I heard if you communicate with her and if she likes you, you will get good grades even if you did poorly in exams.
Literally horrific. We should start a petition to have her removed from the University or at least investigated because the awful experience is universal, but she covers her tracks by curving your grade heavily at the end. I'm dreading taking her for 464 because she is the only prof who teaches it lol... CS at CCSU is such a joke.
Although she's kind and funny, she struggles to coherently convey ideas. You will be teaching yourself. Her tests are 4-7 questions which take much more time than she allows, given her ludicrous expectations for answers. Odds are you'll be floundering until the heavy curve she puts on the grade at the last minute brings you up to passing.
This professor is very nit picky. Tough grader, doesn't have many opportunities to bring your grade up and often goes on tangents. This was my first computer science class and she has made it a miserable experience.
Lectures have no structure due to jumping topics, you will learn about graph traversal algorithms like Dijkstra's or BFS before you learn what graphs are to begin with lol. I can ignore a aggressive style of teaching, but dismissing questions is never acceptable, everyone here is an adult who paid a lot of money to get education not attitude.
I'm not sure how she keeps teaching these courses when she is corrupt , abrasive , and incompentent. She can't convey the material to students. Class has no structure and she lacks decorum. Always going off on tangents that have nothing to do with the subject matter at all. She seriously needs to be investigated and removed from her profession.
Attendance isn't mandatory but skipping is not a good idea. Class has no clear structure and no notes or slides are posted online, missing a class could mean missing an important topic on the exam. Read the chapters and watch videos they will be your best friends. Exams are very long so most don't finish. She curves grades heavily at the end.
Definitely needs zero stars. WORST professor ever. She never used to provide any help and never used to show coding while teaching. In the exam there were about 8 questions. Out of those questions about half of them were completely off topic and difficult.Therefore I really INSIST every student to avoid this professor.

Meh. The book sucks but helps stay on track. Grind Leetcode, YT Vids (Abdul Bari btw), self-study DSA b4 semester starts. She attempts to teach but often rants in the middle instead. Doesn't give you review for any quizzes or midterms or finals and she just skips through a lot of stuff
Avoid her at all costs.The exams have 9 question that she can't ever finish during a class time.She tries to solve these questions during class time and she is never able to finish. Her grading is terrible!
Honestly, doesn't deserve a 1.8. Maybe a 2.0 (which I know isnt that big of an improvement), but show up to class, seem interested, and it wont be all that bad I promise. It's difficult to understand her. Assignments have 0 guidance. Exam grading is not consistent. Exam topics are only mentioned verbally in class, not posted.
