She is the best! Makes math so easy to understand. I am taking another class with her.
I have a really hard time understanding math and she always knows how to explain it! I am actually getting the material. She's great! She really does care about her students.
This teacher makes the subject easy to understand, she wants everyone to learn andexplains problems again, when people are having trouble with the subject. She gives you confidence to work with math problems.
I wouldn't have been able to pass if it weren't for her amazing teaching. I enjoyed her class very much and am thankful that I was able to be taught by her.
She is my favorite math teacher and I have had so far. I am taking math212 with her!
I really enjoy Ms. Yarahmadi's class and feel like the genuinely cares about her students education.
Fatemeh is the best teacher I've ever had. If you get the chance to take him for math, DONT MISS OUT on that opportunity. I have never had a teacher who cared about her students success as much as Fatemeh. She is willing to help her students over and over again until they understand everything. Very patient, kind and funny!
Fatemeh is such an awesome teacher! she is very helpful towards her students and very easy to understand.
There are so many ways you can get points back. You have exam corrections so even if you get a 80/100 on exam, you can get 100% after corrections. Homework is optional but she gives 60 EC if you do it. There are so many ways to obtain an A in this course. If you show up, write everything from the white board, you will easily get an A! Amazing prof
She is one of the best professor's at De Anza. It was my second class with her. She makes sure everyone understands what she is teaching before moving on. There needs to be more teachers like her here.
The most amazing and easiest teacher ever!!
Too easy, she needs to make the class harder. I really didn't learn anything.
She is one of the best lecturers! Highly organized, weekly notes, sample questions, solutions to homework, all was emailed to us! Her expectations are clear. Show up, do the homework, and study for the exams. Subject was not easy, but she broke down all the details so we could follow.
Professor Yarahmadi is the best! She explains math in a way for you to understand and even if you don't get it the first few times, she'll stay by your side and help. She genuinely cares for her students and wants everyone to pass. Two hw a week and a midterm and final. Easy A !
She is a wonderful instructor. She spends and gives all her time to students to make sure they are on the right path. I have never had a teacher this good in math ever!!!!
she teaches you well. if you want to learn take her class.
She makes math really easy to understand.
Extra credits and corrections evens up the hardness of the tests. Very organized and caring.
She is the best instructor. She is passionate about you learning and succeeding. 3 sets of homework, weekly quiz, take home exam. She gives opportunity to retake if you have low grades. I wish she taught Math 2.
Take this class if you want a lenient teacher. There are extra credit opportunities, and a lot of the exams are take-home or group quizzes. She is a very kind teacher with a good sense of humor.
She is an amazing professor. Her tests are hard, but there are extra credit opportunities.
Prof. Yarahmadi is such a kind, patient and knowledgeable prof. We really hope we could take her class again in the future! She is definitely the best Math Prof. that any student could have! I cannot describe how awesome she is! I wish I could take ALL my Math class with her! She i literally the BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST!
I don't understand why the review on 12/14/2018 says her tests are hard. Her tests are fair game. Math 1D 's material is really hard, but she does her best to make it doable and help everyone to get their desirable grade. Each exam, she gives 20 points for correction. so you can get 100% if you do correction. Final is not hard either! A lot EC too
She is the best professor ever!! Teaches pretty well, and the homework load was reasonable. Some quizzes were individual, others were in group. Midterms and Final are doable. There's extra credit opportunities. She's the best Math professor I had out of all the calculus and precalculus courses I took. I strongly recommend her.
She is the best math teacher I've had. If you have any questions about homework or exams, just ask for help from her. She is very generous and kind. If you have a chance to take her classes, you won't regret it.
she is AMAZING. literally, she saved my life(math1D is hella hard). Once she told us, "Goal is to let u guys all get A". (lov her) She provides : lots of extra credit 20 points for correction for test (20/150). 2 points correction for quiz(2/10) And her test is based on her practice exam and hw she gave. take her if u suffer in last calc class
She is really nice and caring. Her Math22 isn't the easiest. But not too bad. (her math1d is pretty easy lol) Lots of extra credit 10 points for test corrections(10/100) (3 inclass, 1 take home) no quizzes no much hw test based on practice exam and hw lots of practice examples during class this is my 2nd class with her
Prof. Yarahmadi is really nice and approachable. She really cares about the students and makes sure everyone gets the material. She gives a lot of extra credit. Gives exam review. Go to office hours if you have questions. Her notes are neat and concise.
Her teaching styles on the course is so clear and understanding. She explains everything in detail to where it makes sense without confusing the students. As long as you do the homework, participate in group activities and go to class this will be an easy A.
She is awesome! She took over the class at the end of the quarter and it was a very welcome change. I highly recommend her.
One of the best math professors I ever had. Friendly, approachable, clear lecture notes, and goes over many examples in class to increase understanding. Grades mostly from the exams, but she allows retakes on the first three and lots of extra credit. Highly reccomend
Good teacher. Enjoyed her class
This class is indescribable. It's the kind of class that I almost wish was in the morning so that I'd be in a great mood for the rest of the day. fateme is great at explaining the intuition behind everything and his enthusiasm for the subject is contagious. I highly recommend this class for anyone interested in higher mathematics.
I would recommend taking calc1 or whatever course she is teaching to anyone. Youll learn a lot! Not too hard to get an A.
I took finite math because it was required to transfer to university. I didn't expect to have so much fun in a math class. We had a lot of group works and presentation. our grades emailed to us after final.
I wish she teach 1D.
Nicest math professor I have ever had. She wants all her students to succeed.
Our class meets everyday, but she makes it very easy to come and learn. Our midterm was from the note and we practiced almost all of them before the exam. I was very stressed out at the beginning, but I feel better now.
She goes step by step and explains everything. Homework is extra credit. 2 exams with corrections. Hopefully get an A in the class.
best teacher ever. i am horrible at math, was very nervous about it and needed lots of patience. she was encouraging, helpful, caring, and made it so do-able. she's approachable and really does want students to succeed. if you're having a hard time just go talk to her. if you try, she notices. lots of opportunities to improve your grade.
Im not done taking her yet, but I already know Im getting an A. I fully get the material so far (I SUCK at math) b/c shes so thorough during lecture, examples are clear, she goes over things as many times as you need her to. She defo wants you to pass, theres EC, you can ask for extensions on hw, she really cares! If it fits your sched TAKE HER!
At the start of the quarter, she said "My goal is for everyone to get an A." She's very clear, gives so many examples, and is always willing to repeat. Tests can be hard sometimes but allows corrections if the class average is low. So many EC opportunities too. You can also schedule appointments to meet with her for extra help. Take her for sure!
Class is fun. Four exams, one is group exam and the other one take home.
Took my final today and she graded that for me. Awesome instructor! She is a great teacher. I went from a D in my first stat class to an A in her class. She cares about your learning. Knows her stuff and is very passionate about it. Take this class or any class of hers!
She is awesome! Her way of teaching, corrections, and group works make it easy to get an A.
Fatemeh Yarahmad is probably one of the best discrete math teachers you can ever take in De Anza. She is fantastic at teaching the subject. Also, it is so easy to pass the class with an A or A+. The course is mostly graded by four exams, which she nitpicks the questions from the exam review given before the exam. Overall, great teacher and easy A.
She is the best professor that I have. She is really kind and every homework not too hard. You may got confuse when you in the class, but if you study the exam reviews, you will be fine. Or just remember how to solve step by step. You can bring a sheet to the exam. Go to every class because she takes attendance and five out extra credits.
Professor Yarahmadi is such a great professor!! I struggle with math and her class made math seem so simple, however, if you don't do your homework or take notes you probably won't do well. There are about 4 tests, 4 quizzes, and one final a quarter, as long as you do your homework and the exam study guides you'll do fine, no tricks!
Best math teacher at De Anza! If you actually commit time and effort in this class, you'll easily pass with an A. Wish she taught every math class!
This professor is so good, that after taking her for Math 1C I had to take her again for Math 22. Her lecture notes are fantastic and outlined clearly on the whiteboard so you never really need to consult the textbook unless you want extra help/ practice. Attendance and participation in the form of groups is major. Exam corrections (10pts) allowed.
I have been struggling with math. My third attempt for taking pre cal at De Anza, but thanks to professor Fatemeh's help i was able to finally pass it. She is very caring and helpful. Her form of teaching is very clear and does not let anyone fall behind. If i get the chance in the future i would definitely take her class again. Thanks again!!
There is 4 midterms and one final, but can you correct the mistakes that you have made for the midterms and get 10% back. She also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities to boost the grade. Her lectures are easy and clear to understand and you can ask her when you have a question.
I LOVED HER CLASS! She explained everything very clearly and she is SOOO understanding! Say goodbye to struggling with math and hello to Professor Fatemeh lol I couldnt thank her enough for all her support. TAKE HER!
I struggled with math a lot and this is my third attempt taking statistics. This instructor is amazing. She is very patient with students and gives us confidence when a topic is hard to understand. She does not move to a new topic unless the class is ready. Lecture are very clear and she records them for class. So far my grade is B+.
Everything you hear from here in this thread is true. Some additional things: 1. You can turn in basically all late work until the very last week and get full credit. 2. She gives you super easy Extra Credit projects (30 points) and 10 credits for Piazza. Only downside is that everything is usually smooth until the final. Some assignments are vague
Absolutely the best professor. -Around 15-20 HW questions due every SundayThe best lectures you'll ever be inUses Piazza a lot3 group quizzes1 group test2 solo tests1 final- Tests feel hard while you take them, but the averages end up being A- on all the tests and final. A couple EC opportunities. A very manageable straightforward class. :)
Lectures are not mandatory but she is so kind and a strong teacher, plus she gives you EC for just going to live chapter recordings. Responded back to emails anytime, even during 2 am for me. I had a 88.4% in the class but she rounded up and gave me an A! WTH! Other Math Professors wont care to respond to emails at all. She sure is special wow.
TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU NEED INTRODUCTORY STATISTICS!! THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I went out of my way to write this review because of how much I loved her class. The sweetest professor you'll meet and that's and understatement. Just show up to class and try your best and you'll pass. Her teaching was super easy to understand and she's super patient.
Everything was super clear and smooth until the final. The final exam was only a couple MC questions and if you got one wrong you'd lose a letter grade and there was no partial credit even if you show your work. idk what happened to her it's like she changed personalities; she was super nice until the final. She is a good teacher though.
I never rate any professor before, but I have to write this because she is THE BEST TEACHER EVER. She's understanding and super patient. If you have a question and come to her during office hours, she will be there and explain it very carefully. If you have any family issues or any problems, come talk to her and she will help you with her best.
She's super nice with grading, midterms/final are a bit harder than class content. She's willing to give extensions and is always available to help. Professor Yarahmadi is so passionate about teaching and she really puts her students wellbeing first. 100% recommend !!!!!!
This was a VERY tough class for me, but the Yarahmadi was very caring and generous to everyone in the class. I'm pretty sure almost everyone bombed the final, but she gave very generous partial credit to bump everyone's grades up. She also curved our final grade-book grades. Don't get me wrong though, this class was still very difficult.
Assignment instructions are vague
Amazing professor. Extremely caring and lenient with grading as long as you take the time to show that you care as well. The last few weeks were kinda weird with this academic dishonesty situation in our class, but everything turned out fine? Nonetheless, she's a great professor and really good at lecturing. Also extremely approachable.
1B is one of the more difficult courses but she eased the stress a lot. She gives a generous amount of partial credit for showing work on tests & some extra credit assignments which really helps keep your grade up. Very kind professor who will respond quickly to any emails. It's not a free A but with a bit of work it's possible.
Professor Yarahmadi was a great professor. I took her for MATH 1C in the summer (the only class I took that quarter), and though she kept me quite busy, the class was informative. She used this amazing online forum for the class called Piazza, and it was huge help whenever I did not understand the homework. She also responded quickly to emails.
Doesn't respect async classes and expects exams to be done outside of class times and gives quizzes over the weekend due on Sunday. She expects the student to tell her this won't work. Good lectures, but she finds unique ways to stress you out. Maybe would take again in a traditional class, but definitely not hybrid sync/async online.
I am so glad I signed up for this class with professor Fatemeh. She communicates very well, accessible outside class, is extremely organized. This is a perfect math class for someone that struggle in math.
Her group assignments are vague to complete. We have to figure out lots of things ourselves. Also, the exam questions are EXTREMELY HARD. There are only 8-10 questions per exam, but those exam grades take up most of your grade. So even if you got full points on assignments, messing up one of the exams would easily get you a bad grade.
Professor Yarahmadi is a sweetheart. She truly cares about her students and is passionate about delivering solid lectures. Exams are grade-heavy but, she is accessible outside of class and will help you as much as she can to understand the material. Would recommend her class to anyone.
Fatemeh is an AMAZING teacher! Her lectures and pdfs and supplemental videos are so informing, and if you don't understand something, you can always ask her in class, or email or text. She responds to text very quickly, and is very considerate in helping. She's one of the nicest teachers I've ever had.
Fatemeh is an AMAZING teacher! Her lectures, pdfs and supplemental are so informing, and if you don't understand something, you can always ask her in class, or email or text! She responds to texts very quickly, and is very considerate. She's one of the nicest teachers I've ever had.
Professor Yarahmadi is a great teacher! She is so helpful and so caring. I took her Statistics class and all her assignments and quizzes/exams were very reasonable. Her grading scale is clear and fair. She always treats students fairly, with respect, she's kind, and really cares about her students. :)
Shes a good person but her teaching does not prepare you for your next class. You can get A by just arguing why you should get an A with her, she is not very strict and wants students like her. Most my classmates suffered after her class. Dont take her if you are science major.
Fatemeh is an awesome teacher. The student at the bottom made his/her own mistake and go blame the teacher. I bet he/she doesnt know how to check the right professor on rate my professor for himself. The student should sign up professor Mehrdad Khosravi class to prepare for STEM major. Every decisions you make has consequences.
She's very nice, and it's incredibly easy to get an A for her class. However, I feel like I'm not extremely prepared for higher-level calculus simply because it was too easy. Her homework problems and solutions helped though. Take her if you're not a STEM major or if you prefer studying on your own.
Overall, she is a nice professor. I like the way she lectures and helps out students. My only complaint is she doesn't accept WL students for MATH 2A upcoming winter quarter. She normally accepts all WL students and she did it in the past. This is her first time not accepting WL students and I was shocked.
Amazing professor. She explains all the material very well. She is easily accessible to students and willing to answer questions even past office hours. Best math professor at De Anza. She wants all her students to succeed.
Difficult subject matter, however she did a great job explaining the material. Some of the quizzes and tests were heavy, so prepare to study.
Honestly, she's a nice teacher, but the class was a bit too trivial for my taste. If you want an easy A, she's probably a good choice.
Exams are oral, students have a 1 on 1 and class have way to many homework assignments, group assignments and discussions
This is my third class with her, and it is differential equations class, but I can't find the course numbers here. She is very organized, solved homework and recorded them for us on canvas. After some students posted her exam questions on chegg she switched exams to oral exam. In total I felt I learned more because I had to study hahaha
The class is well structured, we have weekly modules with mini videos to answer questions. Her quizzes and exams are straightforward and fairly easy. Just stay focus and you will get an A.
Caring person!
She seems like a nice person, but the workload can get a bit crammed. Taking Math22 in the Summer, workload was manageable until the last 2 weeks, where there is an exam, 2 mandatory reviews, a project, and a final. Curves can be given and exam corrections are possible, as well as some extra credit. Definitely not the worst at De Anza
The videos she posts only cover the basic examples and have to look at other sources to get a better intuition. There were mistakes on tests which made certain questions unsolvable and really stressed me out, plus the wording of several questions are really confusing. An ample amount of homework. She also never replied to my emails for some reason.
Her exams are harder than what she goes over in the lecture. I find some of the homework harder than the lectures. There's hw due every week and 2 group projects. She also gives extra credit opportunities. While the exams are hard, she's generous with grading and will also allow test corrections if the class as a whole did bad
Overall, prof Fatemeh is nice to students. Weekly hw with lots of problems, 2 exams, 2 projects, and 1 final. She only gives corrections if the class average is below 80%. Her exams are very difficult and not even exam review problems can help much. Self-study and office hours are the best ways to get an A in this class.
Took this class during the summer so everything was really jam packed, however she was really kind and understanding and best of all, unlike a lot of professors, she actually gets back to you asap and gives you good feedback. I highly recommend, however the only downside is youre gonna have to do a good amount of self studying to do well.
Took the class in summer and the professor isn't as responsive out of class as everyone swears her to be, but I suppose it's because of the halved teaching time of summer. She'd ghost emails at times which is disappointing. Offers corrections for both midterms, but HW are harder than lecture examples, and exams are harder than HWs.
She is a great professor, she responds really quickly if you email her with any questions. Her tests are a little difficult but she gives partial credit. Her lectures are really helpful if you pay attention but some of the examples do get a little complex. overall great class would definitely recommend
She changed the weight of her grading more than three quarters into the quarter. Everything was supposed to be online and done through Canvas however she decided last second that the third and fourth exam was going to be in person.
Workload manageable, but a lot of required review work to during finals week. Exam questions were submitted/created by your class section and available two days before exam. Corrections available if majority does poorly. Complaints: point distribution on exams unknown, policies unclear, project guidelines unclear. Highly recommend doing EC if time.
Goated professor. Teaches concepts really well, is approachable, answers any of your questions. Examples in lecture and homework are reflected on midterms. Pacing can get fast at times so make sure you're confident in the material. Book isn't entirely needed but it's good to have it with you in case you need to see more examples.
Great professor, lots of opportunities to improve your grade but still the most I have actually learned in a calc class at De Anza.
I honestly would rate her a 3.5 difficulty because the material is rather difficult but she is really helpful and caring that it offsets that difficulty. She moved a midterm cause UC apps were due the same day. She has sporadic amounts of EC but it really can push you over from a B to an A. My only complaint is the projects lack a clear rubric.
so sweet. lots of EC. moved our midterm so that it wasn't right after UC apps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHES THE GOAT
highly recommend this professor. lectures are informative. Lots of ungraded group work in class with problems that appear on homeworks. exams are difficult, but if you do her homeworks/review assignments, you should be in good shape. Plenty of ec opportunities, so if you're worried do those too. Ask questions if your stumped and you should be fine.
LITERALLY THE BEST highlyyyy recommend!! she's the sweetest prof ever and she really knows how to teach! she took a bunch of time to get extra teaching certifications/courses to be a better professor and it really shows!! if you take her class, pay attention and participate bc that's what she deserves. you'll do well in the class if you try!! gl!!
Very clear lectures and lots of examples. Midterms were not too difficult as long as you studied all the practice problems from lecture and additional group work that she assigned. My only complaint was that her project grading guidelines were unclear.
Lectures were sometimes helpful but mostly did not fully explain new core concepts; instead majority of time reviewed basic concepts from Calc 1+2. very nice and flexible with extensions and grading. LOT of EC, exams not worth a lot. gave insane amt of HW but reduced a tiny bit upon request. expect lots of self-learning to fully grasp material.
The workload was pretty manageable. Sometimes group exams + gave extra credit opportunities. She's super nice and also has a youtube channel if you need to review material. Class lecture encourages working with your group to solve examples on board. I really wish I could take her again!
Grades heavy, a lot of HW, 0 for late credit in any assignments and no make up
Professor gives online lectures on whiteboards. The homework gets cumbersome at times but she lightens it shortly after exams. Her tests are challenging and the time is 1 hr for around 6 multivariable calc problems. The only unfortunate thing is that her exams are usually niche examples while her lectures are very general.
Dr. Yarahmadi very good professor. Exam problem very hard. I would take again for 1C
She is friendly and also has online videos on concepts that are taught in class. The tests are written questions by you and your fellow peers, so the difficulty ranges.
Gives a lot of extra credit by weekly Piazza participation and going for tutoring. Homework and group assignments can get a little heavy at times but just email her & she can usually give you an extension. The class is relatively straightforward and easy to follow. Just make sure to stay on top of your work and you will be fine.
Professor Yarahmadi is the best math prof at de anza. The exams are hard but there's plenty of time plus the problems are similar to the examples in her videos and notes, so as long as you study you should be okay. She's really helpful during office hours and encourages people to work together. HW load can be a bit much
This is my fourth class with prof Yarahmadi. Class structure stayed the same during the four classes that I took with her. There were three midterms, some exam corrections and a cumulative final. Participants are through piazza, and there were quizzes on modules with written weekly homework. Hope she teaches more upper level classes.
MATH3031| Is straightforward in lectures.Covers most of what is needed to be known & you should expect to pay close attention to understand the concept clearly.Dual-enrolled support class, tutoring isn't mandated yet it's extra credit so partake for the extra support & grade bump.Communicate with professors & tutors and it's a guaranteed A+ :)
2 hour class, 1hour lecture 1 hour breakout room, asks you to talk to your group if you have questions before going to her, Changed the weight of an assignment because not alot of people did it to affect grades more, assignment heavy, Yet exams and quiz weigh more and are not full of questions so small room for error. Self taught class, Annoying
This was Ms Yarahmadi first time teaching Linear Algebra. She assigned many homework problems but all were doable. Her tests were by group, but the final was individual. We had proofs on our tests which was unexpected, but again doable. If you do all the work then the result should be an A or B.
Class was difficult, I mean it is linear algebra. Group exams was a blessing. There were many class assessments with multiple attempts. My only complaint is that some students were cheating on the final. Hope she finds better ways like face to face exam.
This professor had the attitude that she did not want to teach. She provides extra credit, but when grading tests does not give any partial credit. When grading exams she took the majority of the quarter before grading the first two exams and giving feedback. All of the due dates for the assignments are off and subject to change.
The prof's assignments and layout were really confusing. There was once a question that had "less than or more than" but the answer was an equation. Her lectures have good explanations but are hard to understand sometimes because she records in an echo-y room with the worst video quality. Also difficult to get in the class if you're waitlisted.
Class has been great. I struggle with math but she made it easy to understand & even though the class is in person, her lectures are posted online to rewatch. Accesible outside of class as well.
Awesome! Take her please!
DISCRETE IS HARD WORK. BUT WE WIN THESE LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! AWESOME PROFESSOR!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! WOOOOO!
You can't go wrong with this professor, definitely one of the best.
Unless you are great at calculus, you need to be in a good group because for the whole quarter, you solve problems and do quizzes plus the final exam with them. She would teach for 15 minutes then make us do problems on the board for 2 hours that she didn't always verify. Lots of self-study, but has extra videos and easy points from Canvas quizzes.
There are more than ten trivial tasks every week, which are as disorganized as the more than two thousand videos on her YouTube channel, leaving me with no systematic concept. These include forum messages, weekly reflections, and more than thirty handwritten questions, including question title and detailed steps.
Suuuper easy intro stats class. Professor Yarahmadi wants you to do well in class so she's very lenient about due dates. All quizzes are on canvas and are (from what I remember) untimed with unlimited attempts. Exams can be a bit tricky but she has great lectures as long as you make sure to utilize them.
Never met a person who posted assignments before 4 hours of due time and a math course required to research papers and presentation. Never answered questions directly with mess grading rubric! Avoid her!
I took her in person last quarter and felt so great! But it's an async online class this quarter, honestly, kind of terrible. If you get the chance to take her in person, please do that and you'll never regret it. Her online class was unpleasant.
Amazing professor. She is super fair and understanding, and wants you to succeed. Take her if you get the chance!
One of the best math professors. She responds to emails within a day and is on top of grading. She is truly passionate about math. We had 3 exams, 1 group final and 1 group presentation. Groups matter a lot as groups make questions for exams. Only thing I disliked is we spent the majority of class solving problems as groups instead of her lecturing
Amazing teacher and person, she is really caring about her students and although discrete math is pretty tough, she taught well and gave fair tests. The best part is she curves tests even when tough so everyone can succeed as long as they show proper understanding. Would recommend taking her over anyone else, you won't be disappointed.
Took her before, and still, not bad. Always walking in the classroom with enthusiasm and a bright smile.
GOAT. Students pick the questions on the exams and we work them out before hand. Content wise, the lecture format was a bit weird. She would show the book example on the projector and then write a question or two for us to solve on the board. The one example was not enough for us to know how to do the questions, but we figured it out with her help.
Material learned isn't difficult but the online video lectures are awful with almost sometimes no context to the subject being taught at hand. The examples provided are much different than the assignments given as well as the method of teaching is very difficult to follow in some instances. While an online class, be prepared to be micromanaged.
Outstanding professor, with a good balance between good grades and good learning. You choose test problems and a group final. Interactive lectures in person and helpful support hw videos. However, she skipped over Laplace equations, which if you're taking upper div math, you may want to reconsider. Some parts felt spoon fed learning as well.
A lot of videos, however she does break down the content to make sure you understand it. You are assigned a group to work on a project. Overall, easier than most or if all professors at De Anza College.
Professor Fatemeh is very knowledgeable and very caring for the students. She explain the concepts and improves your problem solving skills. She guides you in all direction and make sure that her students definitely succeed in their life. Clear grading criteria and you need to write your notes and then submit them weekly. This enforces learning.
She recorded many videos and explained concepts very clearly. However, what I'm not satisfied with is that I sent her 9 emails throughout the entire quarter, but she never responded. I had to talk to her in person.
Great professor. She explains concepts very well and is very kind. The lectures and group work are very engaging. Exam questions are pulled straight from reviewers and the final exam is done in groups. Missed points from an exam can be made up on the next exam for full credit. Just about impossible to fail, extremely hard to not get an A.
This was an asynch class, so it was a very easy A, but you don't go in concepts deep. All exams are on canvas, and formatting is always a problem. Sometimes she intentionally enters a wrong answer on the exam which screws you because you don't know if you're wrong or not, and if you put the right automated answer, you lose points for the question.
Unclear instructions, very picky with grading.
Professor Yarahmadi was a delight to have. Throughout the course, she was very interactive with the students and actively encouraged involvement and collaboration. This was by far the most fun course I have taken at De Anza and the course content was very well taught and nothing was left unanswered.
She was a kind and responsive professor with easy grading. Tests were pretty standard with only 1 challenging unfamiliar problem at most on each. Curved people up at the end. The honors project was not too hard either.
Took over summer, so take my review with a grain of salt. The entirety of the class was taught in 3 weeks, even though there was 6 weeks of summer (no lectures/hw during exam weeks). Too crammed yet easy of a class. I don't understand linear algebra well enough coming out. Probably much better over a regular quarter though.
Took Summer 2024, was probably the easiest math class of my life. She gives people tons of chances to make up their grade and sometimes reuses homework problems on tests. She also doesn't overload you with assignments like most other profs. Take her if you can and DO NOT DROP!!!
The most ridiculously easy class I've ever taken. Her lectures and exams skipped almost all difficult topics. Once you find a good study group, you can start taking the exam. Recommended for students who want an easy A, but not for those who want to study in depth. I like her because I'm not a math major and not interested in math.
Easiest math teacher at De Anza. Just take her! Spend 1-2 hours every week to complete her work, and you're guaranteed an A. (She doesn't give A+.)
This is my third class with her (one online and two in-person). She makes her own video lectures instead of using YouTube videos like other teachers, we had a few group projects in the online class. In the in person class we have a lot of group activities. I HIGHLY recommend her!
took her 1c. I believe no one is easier than her. I'm currently struggling in 2A with a strict professor, but I regret taking her class since she skipped some hard but crucial topics. You must weigh the trade-off between a free A and your future math learning if you take her class. That being said, she is good for some because it was super easy.
EASIEST CLASS EVER! Please take her class if you can. She gave free A for everyone. Thanks to her, I have time to focus on my other classes.
I'm not sure what the people below me are complaining about. If you want to boost your GPA, you must take her class. The final is done in groups, and it's very easy with little effort. She basically only teaches and tests you on the easiest things to make your life easier. If you want to go deeper into the material, this is not the class for you.
Incorrect answer keys for the last 2 exams, and some questions tested concepts never taught anywhere. One question referenced another question that did not exist in the exam. She only fixed the answers for our final exam. It was also a suboptimal class for learning. Regular stats taught it better. Regardless, still a free A, and she is nice.
amazing professor, she is extremely kind and teach well. I took her for all my math classes and she is the best professor I have ever had and very amazing.
It was the easiest math class I have ever had.
Shes nice but treats students like children. We're in college, not high school. I dont need or want my teacher checking my notes to make sure I "did it right". Why cant I study a way that works for me? Why do I need to write long reflections on homework? Why am i required to ask questions every week? I just hate how she breathes down out necks
Great lecturer, explains complex concepts in detail with multiple examples. One of the best math professors I've taken and genuinely cares about her students.
Very chill prof and very chill class. Took async, so 1-2 hours of lectures, and 1 hour of required HW a week. Tests were heavily homework-based, but she's switching to in-person tests for her async classes, but they are still going to be easy. Overall, take her if you want a good grade, but keep in mind you won't learn as much as other professors.
Easy class, test questions reflect homework and reviews. However, unnecessary busy work answering questions about the lectures into free response boxes, where formatting often makes you redo the whole assignment/quiz. All personal notes taken are also graded for completeness and clarity, unnecessary for a college level course.
This class is terrible. It's a TBA course that requires all exams to be taken on campus. I usually live in Southern California, so I have to fly just to attend her exams.
Nice person but this class was unorganized and way too easy.
Damn. Not difficult; just confusing. Broken links, images, and English abound. Required review activities, notes, and handwritten work for assignments. However, she doesn't actually look at your submissions; just gives 5/5. Final review + exam were SO broken, but she gave me a ton of points back which brought me from a C to an A-. Just weird.
Light workload; Free A; Highly recommended to everyone
Took engineering statistics in winter. Class was heavy but manageable. I did a project with her and asked for a recommendation letter for Princeton uni scholarship, and I can't believe I got it!
Just finished my final. The class was tba with in person exams. Apparently private universities only accept credit if exams are proctored in person. The good thing was we had revisit questions from past exam and got some credits back. Honors project was time consuming but in general it was an easy class.
Nice and easy A professor. Would take her again!
I don't care or know how her exams r. This is just the first week of the quarter, taking this class with her. I don't care about studying a lot, but what is that about taking notes in detail like a kid? It's wasting my precious time on unnecessary things. She needs to learn that everyone has different ways of studying. SO ANNOYING AND WASTING TIME!!
The exams have nothing to do with her review sheets and so it is really hard to prepare for her exams. I honestly don't know if I learned anything because I feel like I understand her lectures but after taking the exams it makes me feel like learned absolutely nothing.
Genuinely so goated.
SO MUCH WORK! work work work work work. It was an in-person class but my god does it have PILES of online assignments due every week. She is very nice, but istg she's secretly evil. She grades fair, but it's NOT WORTH the WORKLOAD. Attendance was mandatory but It's a waste of time as 70% is group activities.
She's a really nice professor, but her assignments don't really help you learn that much. Her midterm/final went back to just online canvas exams, and you have a lot of group projects. The problem with that is if you have a group that refuses to work it'll be a really annoying course. Take it if you want an easy A.
Lots of extra credit. GOAT!
