Easy, whatever class, nice guy, works out well

I was a little skeptical in the beginning because he seemed hard... he is by far my favorite teacher out of anyone that I have had teach me in the past years. I highly recommend him and I want to take another class that he teaches bc hes so awesome

Father Pizzarelli is an amazing profesor with an abundance of intelligence. He teaches everyone how to become a better person through group activities and various films. Highly recommended! I LOVE SANDALS TOO

Great proffesor. Sometimes unclear and when asked about it, he sometimes is a little too sarcastic and doesn't realy answer the question. Other than that, a great way to start the day!

Father Frank is the absolute best. He knows so much about life and forces you to really think about it. As a priest and social worker, he has so many views to share with you that you can't help but leave class feeling like a better person. Very easy, most interesting class I took.

He's one of those teachers that gives you the syllabus and leaves the rest up to you. If you like that kinda thing its a great class to take. A lot of freedom. A lot of writing (even for an english class). You'll watch a lot of movies, but will be tested and assigned to write reviews of them.

great teacher, i didn't enjoy them much at first but he's a good guy and the class was a lot of fun, definitly very different from your typical english class..i'd recommend him but you do have to do some work, he's fair and all his test are open book, plus he lets you do rewrites

great guy. although i felt stupid cuz i missed the first class by mistake, the rest of the semester went smoothly. i dont see why anyone would complain about him, just come to class on time and maybe bring the book every once in a while and he'll love you.

I've seen this teacher grade papers. He doesn't even read it!! and just puts a B+ or A- on it. lol. No matter how much he acts like he cares, obviously he don't give a damn. The grades are very tedious, he likes to weigh 50% on the final paper, which is totally retarded. Nice guy though lol.

Although i do not really participate in class i do really well on his tests and essays. His tests are really easy. He does not make any corrections on the essays which bugs me cause its a writing class but oh well. We watch awesome movies and hes a really good teacher.

easy class. we watched really good movies and the tests were all open book. he grades easy but the only problem is on papers he doesnt write what we did wrong he just writes x's through some words..he's a nice guy though.

not a hard grader and you watch really good movies. Funny guy, and a good teacher.

He was a very good humanities teacher. So, if you got him for this class, be prepared for busy work. The work isn't bad though, trust me. It's like one page papers due every week (on common hour events).

really great guy. wasnt there a lot, thats when wed watch movies. lots of work to do but not in a bad way. hes understanding and u can hand in things late. tests are difficult. word of the day journal requires u to share in front of others. reflection papers. read hope for the flowers and tuesdays with morrie. grammer was difficult.

i have him for humanities( seminar) and writing effectiveness, tests are always open notebook and open textbook.. class is always fun never boring.. watch movies every wednesdays and we usually get out early every class by at least half hour minimum.. take him if you get a chance.. you wont regret this

Fr. Frank is a great teacher. He is very understanding, and i recommend anyone who can take one of his classes to do it. This particular class is easy, tests are always open notebook/textbook. You watch movies usually on Wednesdays. He is very reasonable with handing things in late.

ABSOLUTLY AWSOME !!!! TAKE HIM alot of papers most like 1-2 pages sooooo easy and one 8-10 page at end again soooo easy.. he allows you to re-write any thing to get a higher grade. test are sooooooooo easy and you watch some amazing movies !!!!!!

It was a relaxing English Comp. class. Which was particularly nice for a change. He lets you write your final paper on >anything< and you can use a paper from another class if you want. Very low stress level. Definitely take him if you can.

Father Francis Pizzarelli is absolutely amazing! He is not only a wonderful man but a great teacher. He cares about his students and is extremely dedicated! I have him for writing too and he is great! Do your work, don't be lazy and you will do fine.

He is a beyond awesome teacher. He does give a lot of work, but most of it is simple. Plus it helps keep your grades up. He is very helpful! I am definitely taking him for the next level up for Social Work.Strongly recommend him!

Father Frank gives a lot of papers but they are extremly short 1 page double spaced. He doesn't read your papers just checks off each paragraph which is kind of annoying if youre looking to improve your writing. He is an awesome man. I would consider myself to be anti religion but he definitely represents what religion is suppose to be about. He is easy going and allows you to think freely. I would recommend him to anyone. You'll love his class.

Father Frank is an amazing professor and man. He has been through so much and he knows how to get the whole class involved. You write a journal entry with a word he gives you every time you go to class. You watch movies just about every other class and our final was a research paper and we had to present it.

One of my favorite people at St. Joe's. Get to know him its not all that bad. Don't be fooled by the outfit, he checks his religion at the door. He challenges us with topics to get the writer out of us. He definitely found the writer in me. Easy Going Father who loves to open the window when its cold outside and fond of his nicknames for students.

i dont really care for his teaching methods, word of the day.. really are we in elementary school. he is a hard grader, and always seems to fall asleep sometime during class... even if its only for a minute or two. particpiation in calss is essential

Amazing guy! His lectures are interesting and he is very real about things even though he is a priest. He does not judge anyone based on his ideology and he is fun. Only thing is he always needs the window open in class even when it is literally freezing outside and he always wears sandals. But HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I just finished the mandatry Humanities class with Fr. Frank and he was an awesome professor. His work is easy, every test is open notes and you can get exempt from the final if you do good all year. He made the room comfortable and you will make a lot of your friends in his class! Take him!

I took his english 103 class. He wants you to be creative so he has word of the day where he writes a word on the board& we have to write about it& then he will call on people to read what they wrote aloud. I am shy so I originally hated this but then I got used to it. His papers are very easy& tests are open book& we get to watch good movies!

father franks the nicest teacher at sjc, honestly if you get on his good side and try at the first few papers you will receive an A on every paper. hes helped me out a lot out of the classroom as well. absolutely recommend taking a class with him

Dont be fooled by him being a priest because he checks his religion at the door and unless you ask a religious question he does not bring it up. If you have him in the winter dress warm becaise the AC is on or the windows are open. Best class

I've had Fr. Frank for SJC 100, SOC 140, and SOC 136. Group discussions, very nice guy. Open notebook & textbook tests. EASY A!!!! Take notes during films shown. Those are the "killers" on test but not difficult. Enjoyed all of his classes! High;t recommended.

Love Father Frank!! Very helpful and knowledgeable about the field of sociology. He gave a lot of work for this class, but the assignments weren't hard so they'll bring up your grade. Open notebook and textbook for exams. Very easy A! Take him if you have the chance!

Fr. Pizzarelli does a great job in terms of keeping religious opinions from influencing the class material. He helps you look at society differently which is great! Reading is required every week and you learn about a new social issue every day

Fr. Francis was great! He had a great sense of humor but was also just a great guy. He really taught us about social issues and I liked how he never pushed his opinions on us because he wanted us to formulate our own. As long as you put in the work you will get an A in this class, would highly recommend it!

He is a great guy and is surprisingly open and respectable of all viewpoints. The only negative is that he is not tech savvy and will not accept any assignments online, and he does not know how to use canvas at all. With the growing dependence on technology, I believe he should learn how to use canvas.

I loved Father Pizzarelli! His class was my favorite out of all the ones I took my first semester of freshman year. I love how interactive the class is when it comes to group work and discussions. You write 8 reaction papers, along with 8 journal entries, 2 book reports (one of which was not on the syllabus), midterm and final paper 8-10 pages.

Father Frank is a cornerstone of SJC. He offers practical discussions and values the opinions of his students. Father Frank does not overload students with work but still provides so many resources to understand the content. Such a beneficial class to take!

If you do the work then it should be an easy A. There are very few papers and all his exams are open notes. He does a lot of group discussions and is open to everyone's views and opinions.

He's a great professor, but he isn't tech-savy, so you'll be relying on the syllabus and your own notes only. There is no Canvas module, so it can get a little confusing sometimes. Don't take the class if you don't like participation or being volunteered to speak. It's all group discussions and answering questions, and sometimes movies/videos.

Father Pizzarelli is a great teacher and runs a good classroom. His SJNY100 class is incredibly easy, but he is a bit of a tough grader on papers. Otherwise, his class is very engaging, especially for 8 a.m. As long as you participate in discussions and complete your homework, his class is an easy A.

Best professor. Participation matters and it might sound bad but it's not everyone gets along11 journals (gives you a journal notebook 1-2pg) 2 book reports (1 1/2 pg and easy books) 7 reaction papers (2pg based on films which are interesting and for some papers you can write about your experience at school.
