he is so hard, avoid anything he teaches...its not worth it to take his class
He's to fast and difficult. Ask God for help if you get him.
Excellent teacher.
I've never before had a teacher that was so demeaning towards the students.
Great
Nice guy Hard Class.
Total a$$hole. First day of class he told me I didn't have the mathematic apptitude to pass his class and better get a tutor. Later in the semester, my father passed away and I asked for an extension on a test and he said No. Focus on Math instead.
Totally unclear, unhelpful!!! Tests were ridiculous. I should have dropped out when half the class dropped it after the first week. Take frezola or carroll.

Very by the book...only works well if you understand definitions and technical terms well. And he is rather scary.
he works from the book. his tests are from his class notes & homework problems which don't get turned in but the student is responsible to ask questions about problems if there are problems. he's a nice guy! its not an easy course, but he can teach
Is an awful teacher
horrible teacher
Levy is a good, greatly intelligent man. He knows what hes talking about. He does move a bit quickly. 4 tests, one drop, then the final. Just a note: MAKE SURE YOU DO ALL THE HOMEWORK, because thats where the tests come from.
Horrible teacher. He knows what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to teach it. Even though he's a priest, he will still get what he deserves one day. Word of advice, TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER!!!

Didn't explain the answers in class even after you ask him about them. Would only take questions to show off his own math abilities.
If you have trouble in Calc TAKE HIM. He explains things in simple ways so you have an actual chance of learning the material. Some of the homework problems and examples he tells you to do will be on the test. Not easy, but not hard if you study!
just do problems, tests easy
excelent prep for 114
great course an easy. good prep for 222
great class
This guy is impossible. he goes way too fast. i didn't have time to ask a question. take a different teacher if at all possible
SLOW DOOOOWWWNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't explain so much as show you what to do. I'd find another teacher if you can. If not...well the may God have mercy on your soul.
know the basics from math 114! he teaches really fast but will always review before a test. tests aren't impossible but you need to do the homework everynight
father levko is a very nice man. He comes off harsh and rude but when you get to know him you will love him. He loves to joke around and will be more than willing to help you . He always lets class out early...TAKE HIM!! :)
it is a very hard class but he is fair. very big on partial credit, make sure you keep up with the work. does have a review session before tests, 4 tests and he takes the top 3 grades plus a final, make sure you go to class and you will be fine!
Impossible to get an A in this class. Fr. Levko is the most sarcastic, rude, obnoxious priest I have ever met. Avoid his class if possible. Lucky for him the U can't fire him, he knows no one else would hire him. Mr. Mullen is a great choice for calc! Take him instead, you'll be glad you did!
most helpful math teacher at the U

easy if you do homework
He goes fast and the material is hard, and some people don't like him. but if you do the work and make an effort he'll notice you and you'll do fairly well
Insanely hard class, was one of only 8 or 9 people in it and at least half were retaking it because they failed. Tests are impossibly hard and long. He will answer questions you have before the test though.
Do not take Him!!!! The class is horrible, he goes way too fast through the material and the tests are hard!!!
best class ive taken in math
If you are not a strong math student I dont encourage you to take him ....he's difficult..nice enough but difficult , attendance is taken each class
easy A best math teacher at the u, works through material very slowly and explains problems in detail!! totally kidding absolutely impossible
THis class was absolutely impossible. He kept using the same threat all year. "You should consider going back to 16", as if he didn't want us to do well. He spook so fast and really wouldn't slow down. The only time that I actually found him in his office was during the day I dropped the class. He was never around. Not recommended. Do not take.
Unless you have a strong math background, the class will be very difficult. dry humor, tries to lighten things up. he is a genius though and will answer any question you ever have. study alot!
A very challenging calc class, I would not recommend it unless you have a strong background in math. The class average was usually in the low-mid 70s. You must do all the homework problems and look at the examples, they usually appear on the exams. Try to participate as much as possible it might help at the end of the semester with your final grade
His calc is very hard. Tests are difficult but managable. He does give maximum partial credit, but it is very challenging. He knows anything and everything about calculus and can solve any derivative in less that 5 minutes.
If you are math major and/or love math, take his class. Although it is very hard, you will learn more than you would with any other teacher. Tests really were not that bad if you kept up with the work and really "learned" the calculus. If you're not a person, take xiong or carroll. overall, a pretty good teacher
Father Levko wants a tough reputation at the school. Overall, the class is not as hard as people say IF you are willing to actually do the work. Calc is a hard class but if he sees you're trying and putting in the effort, you'll get the grade you deserve. The tests are hard but some questions come right from the homework so do all the problems.
The class is passible. However, it is very difficult to get above a B unless math is your passion. If you don't do the work his way, points are taken off. I recommend taking another professor if at all possible.
Very traditional, a ton of notes, tests are short but hard bc he takes off points for little things
Do not take him for Calculus! I was great at math until I had his as a professor because he speeds through everything with no clarity. He expects you to know everything there is and there is no homework, which ends up hurting you. Avoid if you can
I am warning you: DO NOT TAKE HIM. He makes this course very difficult and is very intimidating. He purposely writes the wrong answer on the board for you to figure it out yourself that it is wrong. I have taken calculus before and I have a tutor and I am still at a C average. Worst course I have ever taken.
I would avoid him if you can. Levko makes the course difficult in order to weed out students. He is both a class killer and a GPA killer. Unless you have had a strong calculus background before his class, you will have to work REALLY hard to pass. The one redeeming characteristic is his final. If you get an A, A-, or B+, that's your final grade.
Tough class but well worth what you will learn from it if you are willing to work for your grade. Levko is one of the most intelligent professors I've ever had and it can be intimidating, however he really does want you to understand and do well. Take advantage and ask as many questions as you need. He will always explain them thoroughly for you.
Although he wasn't always clear, I absolutely loved having Father Levko for Calc II. He is very intelligent, a really nice guy, and his tests are mostly examples and homework problems. Although there are probably better professors for the subject, you really do learn a lot. I was surprised how much I liked him.
I would recommend avoiding him if possible. He intentionally makes the class difficult to make students drop the class. He does not assign homework for a specific day, but instead gives you a list of problems for the entire semester. Do the problems! Most of the test questions are the exact same from the list or the examples he gives.
This man is the least helpful teacher I'Ve ever had. He flies through the material and doesn't go back or slow down if you need him to. He thinks everyone should understand everything he says the first time he says it. If you have the chance, take someone else.
assigns homework everyday but does not grade it.. Never available outside of class. can teach yourself the material with textbook and problems he assigns because attendance isn't mandatory. worst professor I've had and doesn't teach at all.
Avoid if possible. Test are almost impossible. He hardly has office hours and the ones he does have are at terrible times. Doesn't use email so u have to call him but only at certain times of the day. I had calculus background and I still struggled after going to the additional tutoring sessions offered.
Fr. Levko was unnecessarily rude throughout the entire semester. He didn't care whether you understood the concepts and continued to move ahead. Get ready to spend hours a night just doing math.
Poor attitude, poor teaching style, and receives satisfaction when he stumps students and encourages drop outs.
If you have no background in calculus don't take this class!!! to pass you need more than just a good understanding of the material but you have to be an expert at it. if you're an overachiever and take this class God bless you and good luck. if your just I regular B student like me be smart and take someone else this guy will destroy you
Professor levko is a good guy, however he is not the best teacher. He knows the material inside and out and therefore he doesnt teach it that well because he assumes we all understood it without an explanation. Tests were extremely difficult and he is a tough grader. Id definitely avoid taking him. It helps if you know calc prior to this course
Father Levko's style of teaching is very fast paced and without prior knowledge of the topic entering the class, failure is inevitable. He's condescending if you choose to seek help and constantly encourages students to drop his course. The smaller the class gets, the more people he has scared out and the more satisfaction he receives. It's sad.
Knows the material very well and assumes that everyone else does as well. Can be very condensing and seems almost as if he gets joy from people struggling and dropping his class. Lots of homework, but it's not graded. Out of the hundred problems he assigns, a few of them will be on the test, which is nice if you thoroughly understand everything
Do examples and problems assigned and get a very good grade
Excellent prep for Calc 2 so do homework problems
Excellent course and extremely useful. Tests were hard but fair.
Don't take him if you like your GPA. This professor will make you feel like you don't know anything about anything.
Math221-Study problems and examples and get a very good grade. Excellent in classroom!
Great prof and great prep for Calc 1
Excellent course for Math114 and just do the work and get the grade you want
You get the grade you earn. Excellent prof but do the work.
Better than my high school course; just study the problems and examples and get the grade you want!
Awesome math prof. Get the grade you work for. Ask questions and do the problems assigned!
Excellent teacher but be prepared to do some homework. Ask questions and do assignments.
Should have taken this course the first time with this Prof! He knows what hes doing. Great course.
He is a very hard grader and can be condescending towards students who make any form of mistakes. Encouraged people to drop the course at the beginning of the semester for even one small misunderstanding of a lesson. Teaches only the how of math and not the why of math. Had to start studying a week in advance because his tests were so hard.
I have never been in this class for more than 30 minutes. When you walk in there are notes already on the board and those are the only problems you will do each day, thexplanation is brief. He gets kind of upset if nobody asks questions. Tests are right from the examples he recommends you do. So do the practice problems and get the grade you want.
I aced Calc I, and now, I am getting destroyed in calc II. Extremely hard, doesn't teach well, assumes the students know how to do everything, moves too fast through the material, relies on the students to read textbook examples to learn the material, makes the course way harder than it has to be. Worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life.
Notes are prewritten on the board and he reads through them too fast to actually understand what they mean. You will have better luck teaching yourself by watching youtube. This is no way to learn Calc II but he doesnt care. Since he is so fluent in the subject he thinks it comes easy to everyone. Office hours are at 7 am to discourage you to come
Do the work and get desired grade
Do assigned problems and examples and get grade you want
Writes all details on board/ examples and problems. Do the work and get the grade you want.
No work no grade
If you were bad at math in highschool, get out of this class. I took college level calc and precalc in high school and his precalc lectures STILL made little sense. You'll learn more in an 8 minute Khan Academy video than an hour long Fr. Levko lecture.
Yes get the grade you want!
Lectures consist of note handouts, he pretty much just explains the math and doesn't show you how to do it. Be prepared to do math every night to get the grade you want. If there are no questions/concerns he will literally end class in 15 minutes.
You get the grade you earn. In class lectures are somewhat helpful sometimes, but doing homework is most important for a good grade. The test questions come right from in class notes and homework problems most of the time. Also, if you have a grade below a B, but get a B or higher on the final exam, you get that grade for the course.
Lectures are about 15 min TOPS. Such a joke. Handouts of notes each day. Reads them over and just dismisses the class. His way or no way
Ask questions and get them answered. Participation matters. Do the work and get your desired grade.
Excellent notes and lectures
Do the work and get the grade you want
Notes are great
He knows what he is doing!Get the grade you want by doing the work.
I hated this guy BUT he is the best! Your grade is what YOU earned!!!!!
He has the experience and is excellent. Do the work and get the grade you WANT
Good feedback and great assignments
Trests are very student oriented. Do work and get the grade you want.
Do the work and get the grade you want! Homework is excellent!! Teaching is ex excellent!
Yes the grade is important but here it's the individual!!!!!!!!
Professor Levko has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it can pay off. The textbook and in-class notes are helpful, and tools like unstuck ai can supplement your studies. Stay focused, and you'll likely earn the grade you put in the work for.
This is the worst math professor I ever had. If you didn't take precalc before you are going to fail this course. He doesn't teach and just gives out notes that don't make any sense. He reads them to the class and send you on your way. Even reading the test book won't help you in this course and the problems you can do for hw are too many to study.
Best teacher I've had. He knows the subject and can teach it!
Take the course and learn something, yes he can help you do it
Take! No one better!
Good job for the course
Great course and teacher. Want to Take another course with him
