Great teacher. She has an odd sense of humor though. Over all the class is on the easier side. If you pay attention and stay organized you'll be fine. She's not super organized, so you have to be sure to listen and write down due dates and such. Very nice teacher over all.

If u dont get an 'A' in this class, then college might not be for you. it's super easy. a couple multiple choice homeworks and make sure to read the assigned readings and come to class

No, seriously...you should take this class. It's not ONLY because it's an easy A, but she also makes the student feel comfortable before you make your speech. It is hard to be in the center with all eyes on you while you make your speech. I learned, it's speech...how hard does it have to be? I recommend you taking this professor, you wont regret it

I just finished taking Speech for the Summer Session. SHE'S AWESOME! she's very funny, makes the whole class feel comfortable and is extremely helpful. I am trying to transfer to FIT in Spring 12' she actually helped me revise my essay she's a very genuinely nice person!

Professor Harrelson is by far the best Professor I had here @ Bmcc. Before taking her course, I had no interest in speech because I was so scared to speak in front of an audience. Her ability to make her students comfortable & confident is seldomly found. She has great humor & even better professionalism. I HIGHLY reccomend her class to ANYONE.

If you're one of those who are terrified of getting up and speaking to a group, this class is for you. Prof. Harrelson has a way of turning even the most scared student into an interesting speech giver. To get an A, make sure you come to class, turn in the assignments when due and most of all, don't be absent on the day you're to give your speech.

Excellent. Clear, helpful and insightful comments. Must read chapters in book for closed-book quizzes. Class made great improvement! Don't think this is an easy class, presentations require work, but she is more than fair. Answers email and really knows her discipline. Must take teacher at BMCC! Follow her rules and formulae and you will do well.

She just gives you whatever grade she wants based on how much she likes you. There were some students whose presentations were not so good and she gave them high grades

She is a very good professor. She is very clear as to what she wants. This is a very class to pass if you stay on top of your work. She is tough on everyone even if she likes you.

Awesome professor. She gives a lot of great information and makes the class fun and engaging. The book is used quite a lot, so if you're thinking about squeaking by without it it's not gonna happen. She just asks that you do the work, but that's college. Not hard to pass, but easy to fail if you don't at least match the effort she puts. Must take!

Great professor. If you put in work you will get the grade you deserve. I was afraid of speech until I took her. After the 2nd/3rd speech I enjoyed going up there. Definitely recommend. Textbook is definitely used. & whatever you do, don't use your phone or you're marked absent for that day.

If you have to take speech 100, make sure you choose Professor Harrelson. BMCC is lucky to have her. When I entered speech I was scared and thought I would have to drop it and here I am with an A thanks to Prof Harrelson's teaching tactics. Amazing professor. BEST TEACHER. I highly recommend her. Just finished her speech 100 class and this professor was amazing. She taught me so much and she taught me how to express myself through speech. And she also has the best hair flip I must say. Please take her. You will not regret! She is very strict with phones and attendance. I seriously loved this class.

If you need to take a Speech class, you should definitely take her class. Not only is she kind and patient but I actually left that class feeling confident in front of people and able to give a speech without feeling like I was going to puke. You get the grade you deserve and she makes the class a lot of fun.

If looking for a good Theatre professor, professor Harrelson is the way to go! If you actually like to learn about the classes you take, then she is the best teacher for you. Do your work and you will be fine! She is strict with cellphones and Attendance so keep that in mind! She makes the class fun, I highly recommend having her as your professor!

Professor Harrelson is hard working professor who will make sure you will understand everything she taught you. I just didn't learn how to speak with courage but she taught me how to develop a thesis statement and also how to make research to support my thesis from almost all the sources. If you are not lazy then take her class for your A.

If your the type of person who does not like to talk in front of people, take this class. She will help and prepare you to speak in front of others. I love Professor Harrelson she is by far the best professor I have ever taken for a subject I initially did not have any interest for. She works with you. She teaches you very well and she has some magic about her that she created some class chemistry, I run into my classmates and we always remember the fun we had in that class.

She is AMAZING! I took her class as a writing intensive course and honestly it wasnt that hard as i thought it would be! MAKE SURE that you always go to class and do your work, it is an easy A as long as you do your part of course. I NEVER use ratemyprofessors but I just had to for her! I really recommend taking her if you can!

She's a really fun teacher and she's VERY lively. The The first half of the class is teaching you about speeches then after that it's just you doing them. There are some quizzes in the first half of the class but not SUPER HARD, and in the end it's the speeches that really matter. Once you do speech 1 the other 2 speeches are a piece of cake.

Best speech professor you can ask for she explains exactly what she would like you to do and give guidelines. Please participate, do your assignments and ask her to explain if you don't understand she will. She encourages her students to put their all into their work. Professor Harrelson is great! She has fun personality. She states what is expected of you for the semester. You are expected to do homework assignments and quizzes in addition to speeches but that is par for the course, nothing too difficult. I was apprehensive at taking a speech class because I hate public speaking but she actually made it fun .

I can't get over how AMAZING Professor Harrelson was. I took speech in the winter worried about the work load and shyness, and yes there were 1-2 speeches a week, but everything was made so simple. She makes everyone comfortable and has the BEST personality. I would recommend everyone take her at some point. I would definitely take her again!

Professor H is amazing and one of my favorites. You'll have to perform at least 3 speeches of varying requirements. You learn IPA and if your a linguist it is very useful. She's funny and understanding, but makes everyone work and learn. If you're shy, need help with English, or just need to sound like a leader TAKE HER CLASS! I learned so much.

BEST SPEECH PROFESSOR EVER! Professor creates an environment where you feel confident enough to present even if you're shy. She gives great feedback and will tell you what you did great on and what you need to work on! Thanks to her, I now am very confident in presenting for any other class.

I took her Hybrid course. The assignments are clear and easy. The quizzes and test are open book since you take them at home. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU WANT AN A!

First of all, she is tough grader. If you late the class even one minute, She will check your attendance as late. But if you never late and you show up at class, you will get an A. She is amazing person. So hilarious and funny! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!! She is the BEST professor at BMCC ever! And I love her lectures. She helped a lot. And No textbook.

Great teacher but for a theatre class it was way too time consuming. Fun course, extra credit is available and shes helpful with due dates. For this course it is required that you see a live play outside of class time, this one missed assignment took me down an entire letter grade.

Shes everything you need in a professor. Her personality is very outgoing and she implements that with her lectures which made the class even more enjoyable for us but she isnt a pushover so dont try to take advantage of that. I wasnt comfortable talking infront of a whole class, but thanks to her class thats a skill I got under my belt. 10/10

This class was really fun for me and never boring. She always has great energy in class which made me want to be there.

Shes very insightful, encouraging, and gives you clear feedback. The class consisted of 4 speeches, a few discussion board threads, and online quizzes. She responds to e-mails very quickly and accepts late work (but dont take advantage of this). Overall, it was great and I truly recommend her!

Professor Harrison is great I really recommend her class. you have to stay on top of your work and practice the phonetics but trust me it is very rewarding. We did have quizzes but she tells you what to expect and what you should study for. Honestly if you put in the work and show her you are trying you won't fail her class.

Professor Harrelson has clear lectures and gives homework that is reasonable and helps enhance classwork. I'd recommend it to any student wanting to sharpen their speaking skills. Participation is a MUST if you need more help her office hours are extremely useful! I have an accent from outside the US and was still able to get an A.

Pretty rational and easy professor. Just submit your 4 speeches, do your discussion boards and that's it. Easy A. Accepts late assignments, just don't be crazy about turning everything in on the last day. Take the short session during Fall so you can finish in Nov so you can focus on your other classes during the year.

I highly recommend taking speech online with Felecia Harrelson. You have to post yourself presenting on Youtube but she explains how to make the video private and only accessible with a link. I did several attempts and uploaded my best one to make sure I got an A. Participate in discussions and hand your work in on time if you want an A.
