Almost unnecessarily hard. Tests were painful. Loved her accent though
Very unimpressed. Professor was of absolutely no use for an online course - offered no insight and no feedback on work.
Do not be lured into thinking this class is not gonna be that bad by the first 3 weeks. The work load is really light then it takes off. There is a group project, which entails a ton of work for only 100points. She continues to pile work on top of that every week.If you're full time, you may wanna take one less class the semester you take this one.
be prepared to play her game, Remember jump through her hoop. Has no real clue what happens in the real world. Very tough to deal with. Good luck
Had no idea what she wanted from the tests. No study guide. Tests and quizzes are rushed. Have to turn in assignments through email when Moodle has a freaking drop box. I have gotten an error right after turning in the assignment. Had I not known, my work could have been considered late. Other students got a message that her inbox was full. Argh!!
Has no real life experience. She is an HR professor who doesn't technology! Tests are ridiculously hard. She gives huge amounts of work for little reward. She thinks her class is all you have on your plate. Good luck id pass on her as a professor.
My second time taking her was easier. Reading chapters is what saved my butt. Got tons of A's on quizzes, exams were the only hardest thing. She gives tons of bonus point opportunities and tons of time to complete assignments. Just READ the chapters. I'm SERIOUS. It really helps with the quizzes. If you don't You will suffer. Got an A+
When I first started her class, I thought that I was going to hate it. I ended up loving it. She is extremely helpful if you ask for her help. She is clear about what her expectations are and they are very easy to meet. The book is necessary but isn't very demanding in the work. Very easy tests, and hardly any class work. Great Teacher!
Her directions are sometimes unclear so you must read instructions slowly and at times ask her for clarification. She is very understanding , even though her syllabus suggests she is tough, she's not so tough.
Slow grader, weeks behind on assignments. Grades fairly easy, but you must write about 6 pages per week. Willy Nilly changes the course syllabus a few weeks into class to add additional work and changes to the point system.
You have to write A LOT! Grades easy. Requires 1,000 word case report each week (45% of final grade) and 3 other writing assignments (1,000 words not required) and a weekly quiz. Quizzes are only 9% of final grade.
This class was really easy. It used MindTap and had unlimited attempts so it's easy to make 100 on everything. Tests aren't too hard if you read the chapters and review the key terms. People who say this particular class is hard are way overreacting. If you love HR, be weary of what she says though- she doesn't have real world experience.
This class was just a few easy MindTap assignments a week and a chapter summary. The chapter summaries are a pain, but you get used to it after a few weeks. Grades super late. I purposefully messed up assignments and would get 100+++, yet 80s on summaries I was very thorough on. Therefore, she doesn't really read all of them- so good luck!
Worst experience so far at LSUS. Has little to no respect for students. Assignments are very unclear. Likes to use big words and blurs clarity by being pedantic. She will take 1500 words to explain a 1000 word assignment. Good luck figuring out what she wants, slow grader. Would never take a class from this professor again. Worst ever.
The tests are closed book, 60-70 questions, and detailed. 2 tests (4 -6 chapters each) and 1 quiz (2 chapters). Study. They aren't fun. Weekly forums and assignments lengthy (1000 works minimum each) but fairly easy to complete. She gives plenty of time for work submission (by Sunday @ 11:55pm CST). Study, write well, reference correctly A
Felice is argumentative with students, and her instructions are unclear. She allows her personal philosophies to influence her grading, thus eliminating opportunity to hear opposing viewpoints on facially neutral issues. Avoid this lady if at all possible.
Dr. Williams' class is the worst I have experienced at LSUS. Like a reviewer last year mentioned, she changes the rubric just for kicks, and her instructions are unclear at best. She asks essay questions in such a way that it's obvious what the "correct" answer is, and it won't help your grade to try to take a stand for your own convictions. Avoid!
Dr. Williams is a very intelligent woman. She expects 'Master level' writing and participation in her class. A bit confusing as to what she wanted in the beginning, however, everything was smooth sailing for me after the second week. 1,000 word minimum on her assignments, so most of the time you're writing just to write. Overall pretty good class
In 427 you have to write A LOT, but if you throw in a couple extra pages every paper, you'll get bonus points. Easy grader. In 321, make sure you do ALL of the mindtap assignments well. Tests don't carry all that much value. Go to class and be a good participator and she'll help you out with your grade at the end of the semester.
Difficult class as it should be for a Masters level. About 30 people dropped out because they could not pass the assignments. READ THE SYLLABUS! I cannot emphasize that enough. Follow the guidelines to the letter, and know how to cite in APA format. Assignments usually end up being about 10 pages a week. Loved the class, great professor!!!
Class was annoyingly difficult with easy subject matter. Get ready to write. ALOT!! Writing 2-4 papers a week (APA format and references). Oh and the questions have 20 questions within one assignment. We received more work during the holidays -forget travel-forget full time work. Class is a full time job. Worst class I ever had bar none!!!
I cannot say enough good things about this professor! She cares about her students and it shows. This IS a graduate level course, so be prepared to read and write a ton. There were alternating discussion posts/responses and assignments every week. 1,000 word minimum and clear cut grading rubric. Generous grader. A 30 min timed quiz each module 30Qs
I really enjoyed this call. The professor is tough but its to be expected as a Masters student. Yes she expects master level work but if you put time aside you will do well. I was writing 11 pages weekly be prepared to write and cite you will do great! The teacher was a generous grader and the quiz were fair if you study.
I've had Dr. Williams for 3 classes and there are some common factors to them. 1. Read the chapter before class, it helps. 2 She uses Mindtap software for homework, which is not overly helpful, but is an easy grade. Main thing is to memorize definitions and look over her power points before tests.
Dr. Williams decided to change books before current semester, but she failed to get info to the bookstore until 3 days before class started. Grading criteria has changed a couple times during this class. Appears to be using test bank for previous book (same author, but slightly different information). Emails from Dr. Williams are unprofessional.
Horrible, no information about this class was provided until three days before class started. She refused to answer any question relating to textbook information or syllabus. Her response to an email asking about the textbook resulted in a mass email saying 'in my last email, i thought i asked for patience. The coursework was okay. Bad attitude.
Came off as very rude in emails, but the class was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Discussion forums are easy points. Exams are somewhat difficult and cannot be reviewed, which I found rather unhelpful. Don't let the syllabus overwhelm you. Took this with another class and did very well in both.
I thought Dr. Williams was a great professor. You will work for your grade but this IS graduate school. The days of showing up and passing are over. That is not life and that is not graduate school. I paired this course with MKT 701 and did quite well in both. I also work full time and have two small kids. If you want it, you can earn it...
She came off a bit mean and she will make you work for your grade. Just do your work correctly, and avoid asking questions. Try to find what you need inside of the syllabus. I'm glad the class is over!
She's got a very dry sense of humor, and it comes off less than nice in her emails sometimes. That's why all the online students have such a hard time with her. (That and her graders were an absolute train wreck.) But she's actually a wonderful, brilliant, dedicated person. Once you realize she's joking and learn to read her, it all gets better.
Class is a useless exercise in jumping through unknown hoops. Professor Williams does not answer emails or respond to questions. She uses an unknown test bank from a different textbook than Wiley. Her grading rubric for discussion posts changes with the wind. Avoid at all costs. LSUS needs to replace her with someone who responds to students.
I really enjoyed this class but more bc of the content. She is largely absent from the course. Her assistants grade for her, and I had to contest a grade twice for being counted off for something that was correct. There is a LOT of writing so be prepared for that. If you write well, you will do well.
I'm sure she's a great teacher but you never hear from her except for the first week. She doesn't respond to emails and she has assistants grade the papers. There are no lecture videos or notes from her. You basically learn on your own from the text.
I actually enjoyed this class and being that you are required to read the two chapters for the exams she posts each week, it forces you to learn the material. I think she was quite understanding each time I e mailed her she did respond. I don't think her class was the easiest, but I did enjoy it. Exams are proctored.
Dr. Williams is a good professor, the class is fine if you do the readings and practice questions, if you don't you will not succeed. The tests and weekly papers would be impossible without doing the work. This is not an "Easy A" type of course.
professor has a bunch of 'coaches' do her work for her, proctors useless examples like a syllabus quiz. School needs to replace this 'professor' asap if you would even consider someone that just does nothing a 'professor'. Useless busy work.
Theres just a ton of busy work and no clear example or expectation for the module assignment. Its like shes difficult just to be difficult. LSUS needs to really review this course with her.
If you are an English major you will do well.
This class is the worst at LSUS. I graduate next semester and there is no easy way to say it, they need to replace her. Two chapters , assignment paper of 1000 words, a test and a discussion board PER week. The load isnt the problem, the material is. No communication from teacher. You can not take this class with another one of you have a job.
I'm in week three of this course right now and it may not be the most intriguing course, but very predictable. You read two chapters, write a 1,000 word paper, take an exam, and do a discussion board each week. An hr per chapter (2) + (2) for paper + (2) for exam and discussion. About 6 -8 hrs of work per week really isn't too bad...
You basically teach yourself. The material is not hard but she makes it hard purposely. This class could be enjoyable if the right person taught it. No videos or lectures. Do not take with another class. 1000 word paper every week. Avoid taking her if you can
Worst professor so far, has coaches do all the work that provide useless generalized feedback that is inaccurate. Avoid at all costs.
Everything is hard. Two chapters a week with an assignment, discussion board and a test. No communication from professor what so ever. Expect 25+ hours a week for this class do barley pass no matter how much effort you put in. I cant believe I paid to have this class
Self learning class, professor has multiple 'coaches' to do her work for her. Grading is not consistent and coaching feedback is a sad attempt to prove who is 'right'. You have to memorize almost every theory and creator to do well on tests. Useless knowledge to retain. If this was my first class at this school I would quit and go somewhere else.
Avoid this professor if you can, if you can't only take one class because there is a lot of useless busy work and expectations required. Grading isn't consistent and you are heavily penalized for menial things.
The material is fine but the new textbook is horrid and the authors use it to further their own agenda and cite their own floundering research. Williams is absent, so you better hope you get a good TA. I don't know why she makes the exams 50 questions of meaningless details. You might as well just forget the real world concepts all together.
Difficult class. Most will bomb tests but papers will offset the bad tests.
This has been the worst experience of my MBA. If I wanted memorization classes I would go back to undergrad. I am not even sure she is real as she hides behind her coaches and sends out canned email messages once in awhile. This has been a waste of time, effort, money and she should be fired.
MBA? the end of classes in learning, but the purpose of this class is to memorize. Each week the tests have an emphasis on authors and history, on evaluating non-relevant things for the master. The content of the book is excellent, the evaluation method is obsolete and impractical.
She doesn't teach anything; she has her coaches do all the feedback. There is little to no direction, and the text reads like it was written by a high school student--punctuation and grammatical errors, etc. I would stay very clear of Dr. Williams for any course after this semester.
Tests on minute details rather than concepts. You have to teach yourself - no lectures, no resources other than a terribly written textbook.
Very inconsistent grader. Doesn't follow her own rubric. Weekly discussions that are "graded for participation only" are not. To be frank, this class stinks but you should be able to pass it, just not with an A.
Just be prepared to read and she does not use zoom like other professors. This a very time-consuming course. BE prepared to read and memorize.
Grading and feedback is inconsistent and there is no real assistance from the professor. I've never wanted a class to be over to quickly, its extremely frustrating. 1000 word papers every week that seem to be graded only on turnitin score.
Each week is the same, 1,000 word written assignment (APA), 2 posts in the forum, and a 50 question (60 min) closed book proctored exam. Outside of the intro video and a few emails you wouldn't know this prof was a real person, all grading performed by TAs, all completely self-read material. She did offer 100 pts extra credit the last week.
As many others have said 1,100 word paper each week. Feedback from the TA's is poor at best. I asked a very specific question which was not answered she just asked me a question. The multiple choice testing format is awful get ready to remember specific quotes written one time. Two of the tests were not relevant to the readings at all.
This professor does not care about you learning the concepts to be able to apply them. The material is not super difficult, but she purposefully goes out of her way to make her students' lives miserable during the course. All tests focus on minute details, so be prepared to memorize every word and number in the text. Avoid her like the plague!
Very little interaction with the professor. She'd send out emails telling do's & dont's - pretty much don't contact her, just talk to your TA's. Little feedback on papers (read by TAs). Just plan on putting your head down, reading, taking lots of practice quizzes to prepare you for the quizzes/tests, and writing a bunch. Self-driven learning.
Pray for a good coach, read up on APA formatting, and get ready to write.
Professor gives a heavy workload of quizzes, exams, and weekly papers. How the papers are graded seem to vary drastically from week to week.
Dr. W. is pure academician with no real-world experience and very proud of her achievements. MADM courses are often detail heavy. This was over the top with crappola details of no import nor relevance to the real-world. Rote memorization of EXACT words with conflicting uses by various authors for common mgmt concepts. Poor exam selection by prof.
Tests were odd. You must remember how many X of each of the different listed items you see in the text. Count them even if given in paragraph format. Just figure out what you need to do to be successful ASAP and do it!
I haven't used this forum before to rate a professor, but felt compelled to do so for Dr. Williams as I feel that a lot of her feedback was unfair. This class (MADM710) was labor intensive, but the information was good. I didn't have many interactions with Dr. Williams, but those that I did have were very positive. Overall, good class & experience.
Took Dr. Williams for MADM710. Felt the course was well laid out and straight forward. She was quick to respond to any questions I had emailed her with. From my experience with her I would recommend.
Weekly assignments are 1000 word ALA pager, 500 word post, 1 hour procured test. No review questions or study material. Prof states written notes should equal length of chapter to prepare for exams, 30 page chapter 30 pages of notes to prepare for in-depth tests. Class average is mid C or lower, does give rubrics for papers that TA's grade.
The way the class is set up you have a 50 question multiple choice test, a 1,000 word paper, a 500 word discussion post and you have to respond to a classmates. You also have to read two chapter a week from a textbook that isn't written the best. Sometimes one individual chapter can be 40 pages long! There isn't much communication from the teacher.
Lots of reading. Tests are very hard, seems avg test grade is a C. If info looks unimportant, study it bc it will be on the test. Even t/f questions on quotes! Written assignments should help bring up grades but they don't. Bs/Cs on assignments with vague comments from coaches. Terrible class. Take any other professor if you can.
if you want a perfect 4.0 you just lost it taking this class. Assignments though lengthy are not difficult. The problem arises when it comes to the test. She does not lecture at all only uses whats provided by the book company. That book is poorly done where you need to watch hours of lecture with information placed in the test that is useless.
I've never taken a class where the instructor doesn't participate. We had a total of three messages from the instructor for the entire term, and the final one simply advised us to take a "w" if our grades were low. Tons of mind-numbing reading, and weekly tests stress memorization over actual learning. If you see a numbered list, memorize it.
Take someone else. You'll spend more time reading, studying, and writing than any other class in the program. She is also absent from the class.
Dr. Williams seems to only be involved with the syllabus and the rest of the class is up to the coaches. The format is read 2 chapters, write 1000 words that relate across the chapters and a 500 word discussion / response each week. Closed book quiz each week dealing in minutiae like how many different items are in a list.
The material covered in the course was incredibly detail oriented; however, the level of detail was expected as it is a graduate level course. The professor was more interested in testing on the smallest details and not on theory. If the exam was based on theory, such as the exam for Chapter 4, it was presented through direct quotes as T/F.
There are no videos/lectures but the professor was very helpful whenever I approached her or my academic coach. My coach was great and always answered my emails. Every week has a 50 MCQ n T/F test -proctorio, a 1000 word paper in APA, a discussion post and a reply. Testquestions are on minute details. Memorize every table, number, name, method etc
I took the 7 week course. We didn't receive grades on assignments until week 6. She didn't input grades for assignments that were done and turned in on time, so I had to rush and do those assignments during my last week while preparing for our comprehensive final. The syllabus is wrong and instructions are unclear. Pray for the best.
Not only does she assign lots of work that must be completed, she is TERRIBLE about getting assignments graded in an orderly fashion. There is two days left in my semester and I still have a good number of assignments that have yet to be graded.
Just took Module 1, oh my goodness. Impossible tests where you have to memorize the 45 pages of text in order to get a 100. Good luck, I'm lucky if I will get a C.
The classes she teaches, I've taken both MADM 701 and MADM 710 From her, Received a B in the first one and an A in the second. She is always responsive to students, and the set up of her coursework keeps the student engaged, with papers, discussion and tests. She makes each 7 week course very informative. Great Professor!
Be prepared for 100% reading comprehension. She doesn't ask questions on concepts but instead more minute details. The test questions are meant to trick you. The readings take a lot of time (the text book is average at best), the ROI is not worth it. Hours and hours of reading to get C's on the tests. Cumulative mid-term and final - no notes.
The format is laid out and all you have to do is follow it. The papers you write each week relate the course material to current events.
QUIZZES ARE RIDICULOUS. She tests on the most unimportant things & when I discussed my concerns with her, she basically told me I was a poor performer even though I made high A's and B's on everything else. No PP's were used and 0 feedback on quizzes to help you go over missed concepts. she is not open-minded & is set on using ineffective methods.
You have exams, business simulations thats due multiple times a week, plus you have the book home work your responsible for on mindtap. Worst class I have ever taken.
There is nothing difficult about the material or the theories reviewed (although, the authors attempted to make it complicated), but several other reviews are correct: it's not whether or not you comprehend the material, but what meaningless minutiae you memorize. There were no lectures. I got minimal feedback, if any. Got a good grade, but blah.
It's weird rating her as my professor when she did nothing but hand out dated .pdfs and write a syllabus. The academic coaches write the papers and your peers grade your discussions. She literally suggests that your notes on a chapter are as long as the chapter. Also, she will quiz you on the most obscure details.
This was my first MBA class and made me want to give up after the first week. I do not understand how this professor expects working adults to read and memorize as much as she requires. Weekly quizzes are HARD and focused on minor unimportant details rather than a high-level understanding of the chapters. 1000 word paper every week!
There was almost no interaction with the class (no Zoom sessions, PPTs, etc., no online group conversations). Peer grading of discussion posts is flawed. You would have to memorize 50-100 pages of to ace each test (10+ hours of studying just to get a B on them - you're tested on the smallest details, not the concepts). Hardest class I took!
Most uninvolved, unorganized, and unprofessional professor Ive dealt with in my entire college career. Does not submit grades in a timely manner, so dont expect to use those to know where you should improve. Is not accessible outside of class. When she does eventually respond to your email, itll say something along the lines of, google it
This class does require quite a bit of work. 2 chapters per week (40-60pages) 7 papers, 7 discussions plus participation (5 classmates), and 7 test. I like the papers, the readings are helpful, and discussion are easy. The test however are a bit tough and you have to know small details to really get above a B or C...
Dr. Williams is a very hard professor and has to be one of the worst professors I have taken at LSUS. There is no other professor that offers the MADM 480 Capstone course at LSUS so you are stuck taking either her online course or face-to-face course. Good luck with her because it is alot of work to get an A in her class. I would not take again.
This class is tough. The papers you have to write in APA style with a certain amount of words is annoying. The discussion questions arent to bad honestly. THE reading and quizzes are awful. Very vague on whats going to be on the quiz. The reading material is like 20 pages each! Two chapters! and you have no idea what will be asked on the quiz.
The essays are worth the most, figure out what is needed to make 100's and you will be fine. Readings are long and tests questions are very specific. Luckily the tests are not weighted heavily, therefore do not take them too seriously. Get notes or skim the chapters for topics to write essay. Great information in this class.
I wouldn't recommend that you take Dr. Williams. The test questions are over the most insignificant pieces of information. As for the writing assignments, neither the instructions nor the rubric is written to help you ace your first writing assignment. Points will be deducted for reasons that are beyond your knowledge. Take a different professor.
If you do well on the writing assignment, you should do well in the class. The writing assignments are not harshly graded. Very fair. The tests are a bit heavy on memorization. I received an unfair peer review from a classmate and Dr. Williams adjusted my grade to compensate. She's a solid professor.
One of the most time consuming classes in the MBA program. Papers require in-depth responses & largely depends on the TA grading. Exams are used to trick & focus less on actual material but more on insignificant details. Study every line in the chapters as the text is the most useful aspect of the class. Good luck! You'll need it!
What should've been a fairly simple and rewarding class, turned out to one I dreaded. The professor assigns tons of material to read and tests students on the most insignificant information. Concepts you wouldn't remember if you tried. The academic coach is a tough grader. Even if you follow instructions for assignments, you won't get an A. AVOID!
This was the worst class I have taken at LSUS. I generally enjoy the classes, but not this one. The readings are extremely heavy (500 page text book throughout the 7 weeks). The papers are very vague (correlating two topics from each chapter together) and graded on the harsher side. I did not learn much from this class.
Do not take this class. This is the worst professor at LSUS. Does not give guidance, does not respond, and asks test questions on minute details non relating to course material. I did not learn anything and can not apply this class to my career. Stay away.
It's a lot of work so you must apply yourself to pass and meet deadlines. Plenty of opportunity to make points and get a good grade if you apply your self. Dr. Williams responds pretty quickly to emails. If you apply yourself during the week you will pass.
Pros: clear, concise expectations, consistent with assignments , 750 word papers are doable. Cons: the quizzes are HORRIBLE! Be prepared to have 100% reading comp because you are tested on minute details. If it wasn't for the quizzes I would've gotten an A.
The weekly quizzes are designed to trip you up. The written assignments are ridiculous. You have been warned. I wish I had seen this website sooner.
Tests were extremely difficult and required you to read hundreds of pages a week. Papers were fairly graded and had clear criteria but were rather intensive.
Typical MADM class. Material is very outdated. Tests are not hard, but she does test you on insignificant material. Weekly papers are extensive and the directions are confusing. I emailed for clarification and the professor nor the TA emailed me back. Not sure how it words in academia, but in the corporate world you email someone back.
One week from the end of the semester, and I only had about 1/3 of my assignments graded. Unacceptable for a capstone class. Her instructions are very vague and stupidly verbose. There are no rubrics for anything. The final project was onerous and she gave us less than two weeks to come up with a 60 page report and a presentation. Dreadful class.
Not a hard class. Time consuming due to lots of reading, weekly quizzes, and weekly papers. The class was online so I had no communication with the professor. However, class materials and instructions were clear. The teaching assistant was great--provided helpful guidelines to improve papers, and very responsive. Overall, I enjoyed the class!
This was a difficult course for me. Lots of reading that took me hours upon hours to read & digest. There was a weekly 750 min. paper about the chapters as well as weekly quizzes. The grading on the paper is easy (follow the rubric). Papers are hard for me anyway but ended the course with an A. There was an opportunity for extra credit at the end.
Lots of reading (Which is great material). Chapter summary videos provided. No lectures. Weekly papers that are graded by assistants. They provide good feedback. Tests are weekly and a lot of questions are unnecessarily specific and difficult. Make sure you thoroughly read the 'OB in Action' sections!
The only good thing about this class is the extra credit that can be very beneficial at the end. Other than the extra credit opportunities, the professor itself is absolutely horrible and unsympathetic. Highly doubt that she cares about her students
Be ready and constantly read and write. Most if not everything is graded by TA's but at least they were interested in actually helping and teaching
There's no getting out of this class which was the hardest class of my college career. Papers each week. Tests are kinda easy, they're on quizlet, study beforehand. In the last 2 weeks, be prepared for a 60 page assignment, presentation, & powerpoint. This instructor is rude, takes very long to grade assignments, and reply to emails.
Responded to email. I'm surprised at other reviews I've read. She seemed nice to me. Lots of reading & writing plus open book tests. You'll need to read and know the material even though it's open book (CTRL-F to find answers). One group project. I found the material helpful as a manager. Textbook is good though some examples are dated.
Dr. Felice Williams for MBA755 (not MBA 704 Didn't give me the option to chose MBA755) and I had zero issues. Yes, there is a lot of reading and papers, BUT it was manageable with my full-time job. Do the discussions for the extra points. The papers are graded by the TA and feedback was provided on every paper. Quizzes are proctored. No group work.
It's a management class, it should be hard. Dr. Williams is hardcore, the real deal, and I highly recommend her. The tough professors push beyond your limits. If you can't handle her class you're not ready for the real world!
This course was impossible while working full time. Each week there's 2 Chapters of reading (140pgs to 220pgs). There are weekly tests (25 questions, 30% of final grade). There is a paper due every week linking 1 topic from each chapter, 750 word minimum, APA format, at least 2 references cited, along with personal experience (60% of final grade).
This professor did not teach the class. The TAs did all the grading and communication. You have to read two long chapters and write a paper each week. We also had a quiz each week, which were impossible to prepare for.... each with about a 75% class average.
Nope. Nope. Nope. I would not recommend this professor. Do not expect timely feedback on assignments, when requested. This professor is not responsive within 24 hours as cited in the syllabus. Prof. Williams does not provide ANY module lectures or study guides for weekly quizzes. Some of the instructional videos need refreshing.
I'm honestly not sure that Dr. Williams actually taught the class. PPT slides had a different course number & professor's name on them & automated voice read lecture - avg ~15 mins per chapter. Papers were graded by a different professor w/minimal feedback. The textbook was awful which made taking quizzes hard. Wasn't hard, but took a lot of work.
Easy 1 if you don't procrastinate. Read 2 chapters a week tested on it, questions come straight from the book and then 1 writing assignment each week. We had 4 easy extra credits db posts and I ended up with a 102 in the class. Everyone that complained waited until Sunday to work on stuff. Start it early and you're fine easy grad school A.
RUN....HIDE....DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH DR. FELICE WILLIAMS!! Real-life example....I failed to list TWO ITEMS on a job questionnaire that I included in the actual job description assignment and I lost EIGHTEEN POINTS!!! 18 points for such a MINOR oversight!!! Class average in the next to last week is currently an 88....thats out of 135 students!!
This class was just...horrible. I received a 95%, and I thought it was the worst class I've taken at LSUS. Being an HR professional I had the advantage of already knowing a lot of the material. The grading criteria was ridiculous and unclear, she didn't grade her own assignments, and there were typos on the tests and assignment instructions.
I would shop around before deciding on this course and this professor. The feedback from case studies never seemed to align with the instructions given. You will read 2 chapters a week. Be prepared for errors with the quiz. For example, questions did not have the correct answer to choose from. Passible, but frustrating.
You must read the chapters in order to pass the class! Pay close attention to the charts in the chapters too. Each week you read two chapters and write a 750 page essay. Quizzes are 25 questions worth a total of 50 points. No midterm and no final. Also no final paper in the last week.
This class was the first MBA class I've took, so I was really nervous about failing. I shouldn't have been. This class will be a breeze after the first week, as long as you stay focused. The main professor is never seen, her assistant does all the work. The grading Rubic makes everything clear. This class is paper and test, no discussion post.
The breakdown that no other review addressed or wasn't offered before. Each week the HR current Affairs articles/ discussion post are extra credit worth 7 wk = 49 points extra credit for the term. Instructions across the board are super confusing. We were told the extra credit was worth 1 point each week. You can do bad on test and pass with a B.
Not sure why students dislike this prof. She doesn't grade anything herself, the TA does. I had a great TA. 1 quiz per week, 3 case assignments, & 3 job analyses. Quiz questions come directly from the textbook. 2 chapters per week. Received A's on all of the case assignments and job analyses (they are easy but time-consuming). Easy class!
I enjoyed this course. The professor and the TA was great and hands-on! The grading criteria was clear. It was 6 papers in total. Reading the textbook is required and weekly quizzes. I would recommend this professor because she is understanding and fair.
I enjoyed Dr. Williams for MBA 704. It the first course I took in the MBA program. Her class requires a lot of reading but it isn't "busy" reading. Her test questions were taken directly from the weekly reading. A good amount of writing is requires but as long as you follow the rubric, you'll do fine.
This was the 2nd class I took with Dr. Williams. The weekly readings were heavy but helpful and manageable. I like that her tests are derived from the weekly readings. I enjoyed the case studies as provided the opportunity to apply the reading material to scenarios. If you follow the grading rubric, you'll do fine.
1 paper (750 word min.) and 1 quiz per week over 2 chapters of material. The chapters can get lengthy but nothing too difficult. Clear grading criteria on the papers, easy to get 100's just by connecting two topics with two online articles, most supporting evidence comes from the textbook. Extra credit case read & quiz during the last week.
The 3 tags I used..imagine the complete opposite since RateMyProfessor doesn't have negative tags. Random grading on assignments. Vague feedback that contradicts what is actually submitted by the students in the assignment. The most muddled assignment directions I have ever seen by a professor. LSUS desperately needs some Quality Control here.
The course material can be dense, but following the clear grading criteria and using resources like unstuck study helped me stay on top of the workload. Although the professor isn't very involved, the TAs are knowledgeable and the textbook is useful for quiz prep.
Unclear instructions related to assignments. When students ask for clarification, the response is to refer back to the syllabus. No communication or community. Assignments not difficult, but unclear, archaic and irrelevant. Professor is difficult and unavailable.
The instructor uses an online platform that is directly linked to the test questions. Take the practice quizes and study them. You're guranteed an A. I would enrolled in every classes that she offers, and so far I've taken 2.
Predictable weeks. Time consuming. Read 2 chapters, quiz, & write a 750 word paper. The chapters are LONG and the quizzes are insanely specific and not about concepts. You cannot summarize the chapters with chatgpt and pass the quizzes. The papers saved me - graded by the assistant, all As. Quizzes Cs and Ds, but not weighted as heavily
There is no actual teaching that happens- it's a lot of reading and a lot of writing papers every week. Tests are not straightforward at all and she makes the subject more difficult than necessary. The class could be really engaging and interesting. The only interaction via email and grading you will get is from the TA. Major disappointment.
