He's very funny and helpful. Keeps everyone interested the whole time. I don't have him for Lab but I wish I did, it would have gone by faster

VERY good professor. Knows his stuff and his style of teaching is very impacting. I couldnt go to his class lectures but I made sure to go to the lab and I got a C. He's encouraging & if you go to his lectures, theres no way you didnt learn at LEAST 5 interesting things each day. He knows some interesting stuff & has whacky but plausible theories

I have had many professors, but none that match up to Mr. G. He is down to earth, articulate, funny and just a down right cool guy. His lectures are explained creatively, so one is never bored. Best teacher I've had...period.

Galicia is an excellent professor. He makes biology interesting by connecting it to comedy. The only problem is that the lab classes are too early.

Galicia is an awesome professor. Don't take any other Bio teacher. You have to go to class of course or else you will fall behind. I highly suggest that you take the lab with him also. It's better when you have the same lab teacher as lecture. I wouldn't say his class is super hard, but it would really help to get a study group.

Eventhough his exams are hard, he is a great teacher. He knows his materials. He gives extra credits. You have to read your text book before you go to the class. In the beginning of the semester, he was very hard, but he just wants to get rid off the people who feel like a victim, relax (lazy. He is really helpful and hot and clean. I luv this guy.

This teacher has no patience. He talks through lectures a mile a minute. His tests are extremely hard. He has a good sense of humor though and he is good looking.

soooo hot. take really good notes and study your book 3 days prior to the exam. he also gives a long study guide which is helpful. his tests are multiple choice with a 3 essay questions but you only need to do one. DO NOT BE LATE either he will drop you or make you feel stupid. and you have a research paper and presentation at end.

Mr. G is a fabulous teacher who is willing to help you understand Biology. You can e-mail him and he responds quickly. He gives study guides for tests and answers questions until you understand the material. He is FUNNY, SMART and HOT.

I had him JUST for lab. He had regular quizzes and his lab lessons were fun. He knows his stuff and makes his class interesting. He wasn't tough, but you have to work for your grade. Attendance is necessary for a good grade because his notes are whats on the tests. Take the midterm and final SERIOUSLY. Really helpful and interesting. Recommended.

He's a Hot/great teacher. Very helpful. cares about his students. his test are multiple choice, and he has study guides and there quite similar to the exams. lectures are interesting never boring.

Mr.G is the best teacher I've ever had. He gives you a study guide and all the essay qustions prior to the test. He drops people if they are failing or not comming to class but when you go he simplifies everything and makes it easy so that almost everything is drilled into your head durring lecture. He's amazingly clear, know and loves this subject, and is personally and professionaly concerned for the welfare of his students. Take his class, if you need to tkae bio or not, take his class. I've never enjoed science this much!!!!

I dreaded taking Bio but am so glad that I took it with Mr. G. He was very helpful, recognized that many students are only taking it to meet requirements and is not offended by that. He preps class for tests and then tests over that same material. Attend all classes, communicate with him, show honest effort, and he will make sure you pass.

I was expecting the worst from this class but it was not that bad. Mr. G is very very helpful and very proffesional. Class recommended. And just one more word.. YUMMY ;)

Great instructor! He loves his subject and wants his students to learn. He's funny and interesting and HOT!! Took the summer course and it was a lot of work but it can be done. 1 research paper/presentation & a lot of studying is necessary to pass.

I got an A. This class is not difficult if you read the chapters and don't miss class. He tends to go over the material pretty quickly so you really have to pay attention. He is funny and tries to make the material fun. And he's really, really hot.

He goes over material very fast and expects you to know it on the exam. Be prepared to do lots of reading from the text and come to lecture every day, otherwise exams would be difficult.

He is by far the best teacher ive ever had. He takes his time teaching the material to make sure each and every student understands it. Bio 11 is a pretty interesting class and this is the guy to take it with. He's gotta be the best professor I've ever had! He'll tell you exactly what you need to do to get an A and the rest is up to you. It's hard but he really prepares you well for transferring to the UC's. Listen to him and take advantage of office hours. Always read the book!

Mr.G, is one of the most inspiring & dedicated teachers I know. He will teach you how to be disciplined and study better, this class felt like bootcamp, IT PUT ME IN SHAPE! He is all you can ask for in a teacher, he has more than 80 student in one class and remember most by name!!! And ladies he is smoking HOT, that make u pay more attention!YUM ;)

I had him for my bio 1 lab (not my lecture). He's a very passionate, very fair, very good professor. His lab had 2 tests which were NOT multiple choice. They weren't as hard as I expected (I might have overprepared) but be willing to study or you will NOT pass. Each time you go there's work, but it helps your grade. He had a marvelous review.

As an instructor he is fair and open with his students, he wants everyone to pass, so he helps you out with lectures and the study guide for the exams. Of course it takes alot of studyng on the sudents part to get the full grasp of the info, relying on him alone wont do you any good. Highly reccomended.

Mr. G is AWESOME! He's very nice and very fair; fair meaning he will give EVERY student what he or she deserves. Also, he makes his tests according to how well the class seems to understand the material. You MUST study and pay attention in class in order to pass his exams. Bio 11 is a big leap from Bio 1 so be prepared. Class is difficult but Mr. G makes comprehending that much easier. May seem intimidating at first but he is the most helpful prof I have ever taken. Out any prof for Bio 11, he is the one to take but be prepared for some college level science.

Bio1 is not the easiest class, but he does his best to make it easier. Of course, people are in school to study; therefore, a lot of studying is must definitely be put into it. He is the sweetest, most admirable, and he's very helpful. Best professor ever! PLUS! He's good looking, so plus points! I almost wish I din't have to leave the class.

This prof is EXCELLENT! Very clear on what to expect for Bio 1, difficult material but he makes it much more understandable. He wants you to pass! Provides both study guides and power point for you.

Without a doubt this is a tough class. A weed- out class if you wish to call it that. Obviously you are a STEM student if you are taking this class so go in prepared and leave with a sense of accomplishment. His commitment to this course is incredible. No homework but his tests are quite difficult.

Don't skip a single lecture, he makes the material interesting so you wont actually ever want to miss a lecture. He is funny and makes his lectures relatable to every day life. Don't get me wrong, you still have to put forth the effort to get a decent grade. I definitely recommend taking him.

One of the hardest classes I've ever taken, hands down. You will NOT pass this class easily, and you will have to devote a lot of time to studying. That said, He's one of the best professors of science I've seen. He explains the science behind biology, but also scientific thinking and why it's important. Would take again.

I love Prof. G! His lectures are so informative, it is clear that he loves his job. He is willing to help you, and remains supportive throughout the semester. This class is hard and comes with online homework and tests, but duh, we're in college now. Take great lecture notes, read your text, participate in lab, do your homework and you will pass.

I have never taken a biology class ever and Mr. G made it easy and enjoyable. He made learning biology so much fun and not intimidating. Mr.G is the most amazing science teacher ever. His lectures are very informative yet interesting. He has about 7 tests and they are not easy - studying is required. Go to tutoring if you can and utilize his office hours, he is very approachable and helpful. His labs can take you anywhere from an hour to three hours. It depends on your group (4-6).

Prof. G has been one of my most memorable professors since I've started this journey. He is great at what he does and he clearly loves it. I did really well in his class up until he assigned the research paper. I failed to do it and ended up getting a "C". He's amazing though and I'm glad I took BIO 1 with him.

Best teacher I have taken so far. Hard tests but if you sacrifice time to study and do the homework you will pass! If you are unhappy with your hw grade he will restart it for you.

Took Professor Galicia in the winter term. He is the best professor by far!! His lectures are never boring and he is always willing to help. I hope to be able to take him again for Microbiology. BEST PROFESSOR MVC HAS TO OFFER! Loved everything about his teaching. Clear, entertaining, and passionate. Covers everything you need to know with detail and patiently helps students. Guides you through some tough problems (especially before exams) and makes the labs enjoyable. Literally no negative things about him. Extra credit is easy. #amazing

One of my all time favorite classes. I felt like I learned a lot. I took him for winter session so it was an accelerated course and some days felt long but he made it a fun experience for all of us. His jokes and knowledge made class interesting. Be sure to show up for lecture and you will most likely pass. He genuinely cares for his students.

Really awesome professor! The subject is definitely hard, its like learning a new language but Mr. G has all the resources for you to use and learn from. So if you fail its really on you. He has all the power points and mock exams online, they're a great study tool. Don't miss lecture because it is heavy!

Professor Galicia is amazing! He's Incredibly intelligent and makes all his lectures too good to miss out on. The course consist of 4 lecture tests and 2 lab tests. The course is challenging, but an A is achievable if you put in the work. ALWAYS take notes, ALWAYS participate in labs, ask questions as needed, and if possible attend SI sessions.

Mr G is amazing! Love love love his class. Super passionate about biology. Makes biology fun, understandable, and relatable. Labs are interesting and not too difficult. Pay attention, do the hw (masteringbiology) and youll be fine for the tests. Study guides and sample exams are also available. Always reviews beforehand. Super helpful.

AMAZING only had him for lab (fridays btw recommend it more time to study lectures & lab) Easy to understand,his lab are on his site you just have to print them out, labs are easy and he goes around to help, quizzes every lab (only 4-5 questions) just read the worksheets you printed & you'll pass the quiz. TAKE HIM TRUST ME EASY A!!

Listen to the lectures. Labs are very interesting but if you become friends with your lab partners then the labs are even fun. There are about 4 or 5 exams/midterm/final which aren't accumulative which makes it a little easier. Over all great teacher and great class.

I used to dislike science, but Professor Galicia made me very interested into biology and now I really like the subject! He makes class entertaining and try to make concepts easy to follow. The best advice that I could give is to read the textbook!! Simply attending lectures will not help you very much on the tests. Overall great professor.

Professor Galicia was one of the best professor I've had. He makes class interesting and is always available to help before or after class. I totally recommend him if you need to take Bio 1. The class does required lots of reading and the test are somewhat hard.

Professor G. is a great professor. I took his BIO 1 lab Spring of 18'. He truly wants his students to succeed & gives you the tools to do so. If you don't pass, it's your fault. Do the work, study the labs & you'll be fine. He keeps it real 100% of the time. There are quizzes each class but those help to prepare you to see what know or don't know

Mr.G was amazing only had him for lab fall 17, he's really nice and funny. He explains all the material clearly and goes through every step in the lab. Everything is mostly group work, he either prints out the material or you get it off his website. Friendly tip read all the articles needed that week before class and you'll pass the mini quizzes .

Profesor Galicia is tough but that isn't on him it's on the class. There's a lot information to be taught and he takes his student's understanding of the difficult course very seriously. He's always available in office hours and sees effort and meets his students halfway. I strongly recommend taking him.

He is a great professor and his study guides are literally the exact questions on the exam. But my issue with him is that he is a tough grader. Got 88s and 89s on all of my exams and got one 80%. Lab tests were also in the high 80s. Came to every class. I ended the class with an 89. It's like, dude. Round up to that A. Smh.

Mr. G is an amazing professor, very knowledgeable and really cares about his students passing his class. He responds back very quickly and will help in any way he can. The class is hard but its Microbiology so it is to be expected. Do the study guides as he only includes what is going to be on the test, no tricks. He is also easy on the eyes!!

I took this Professor spring 2020 when covid hit pretty hard. He cares about his students, likes to joke around and Tries to make everyone comfortable. When we switched to the online course he wasnt tripping on attendance because he recorded the lectures and labs and posted them. Has no problem taking office hours and working with you. Genuine guy

Take notes from his lectures, If he's lecturing too fast he records the lectures so you can watch them at a later time. Use the study area from mastering biology, don't wait until last minute to do the assignments. Every point counts!

Took his class doing winter, it was a difficult course but his lectures are very interesting. if you can't attend lectures they are recorded for you can have access to them. the exams are difficult you won't pass if you don't study. he is an amazing teacher I will take his course for microbiology when I get to that section.

Mr. G was a huge role model in my life. He helped me out with my in-grown toenail a while back. The class was the hardest class I have ever taken though. I would cry on the city steps every night just thinking about his class.

Mr. G is the BEST! He will take time out of his day to zoom with you just to make sure that you are understanding the material. He is one of the best teacher's I have ever had. He does give a lot of homework, but only because he really wants you to know the material. As long as you study and listen to his lectures you will do in his class.

Professor G was and still is my favorite teacher. He has a lot of office hours and takes time to really explain topics without making you feel dumb. He also shows interest in your academic goal not just for his class and is available to answer general science questions in future classes. Super easy-going with a great personality.

Currently enrolled in Mr. Galicias class for fall semester, and all I can say is that he is a phenomenal instructor. He has made me view science in a completely different way in which I now understand but also enjoy very much. His lectures are very interesting and labs are enjoyable. Biology in itself is a really hard course, but I could say for sure that Professor G tries his best to help the students with the materials that they struggle on. He also makes lectures a lot more interesting, and I love how humorous he gets! He also replies surpisingly fast. I would say that you would NOT regret taking him for any of your classes.

Took him during Winter, great professor and amazing lectures. If you have the chance enroll in his class, he cares for his students and is there to help them succeed.

He is knowledgeable but the course is difficult. Even with lectures and the book, it is not too easy. His grades are majority off tests and labs. Labs are easy and fun with him- tests are the worst though. Galicia will try to help as much as possible, but only if he sees you are trying.

This class was difficult for me it was only worse since I took this class in summer. He gets through his lectures pretty fast so be ready to write fast if you're a note taker. daily quizzes 5 points the max. Lab hours was fun and interesting, we worked on our lab packet as a group of 4-6 students. Lots of work, I will retake on a longer semester

I love taking Biology with Professor G! The test are a lot of points but the material all comes from labs and lectures. Lectures were never boring, I always enjoyed his lectures! He always tells us whats gonna be on the exam and prepares everyone. He assigns MyLab homework but its really not a big deal. Just do them on time.

This class requires full participation meaning going through the material textbook, assignments, notes. Stay on top of the material and focus on the lectures and lab. The professor provides support, advice, and resources really cares for students and hopes for their overall success in the class over great class and Professor.

Mr G is an amazing professor and his class is one of the best classes I have ever taken. His class is very manageable as long as you are putting in the time it needs. There is so many thing I can say about me g but overall he is awesome!

MR.G DELIVERS! He does his part and if you do yours, you will pass. His class requires A LOT of reading and studying but I highly recommend taking his course. Thank you, Mr.G, for being approachable, and teaching me how to be a better student.

Professor Galicia is one of the best professors in the entire MVC Bio community. He will help you with any questions you have and will never make you feel stupid. His test are very lecture focused, but you will have a study guide and practice test to study from. DO THE STUDY GUIDE! Bio-1 requires a lot of studying, it is not memorization!

Very difficult course. Great professor and great person. It's obvious that Professor Galicia is passionate about what he does. He provides you with everything you need to pass the class with lectures and labs. Ultimately, I wasn't able to keep up with the class and received a D. No textbook purchase was required.

Professor G is the most caring and funniest professors in MVC. He is super passionate about the biology field and is very insightful when it comes to the medical field. He is truly a caring professor and is more than willing to help his students with any trouble they're having with the course. Overall, pay attention and study well!

Professor G is a great professor, I took his class during Winter Semester but its best to take it during a longer semester, the material goes by fast and you can easily fall behind. Make sure to study, ask questions and email him. Take advantage of the study guides too. Overall a great professor and would take his class again.

Definitely the best professor I have had. If you have the opportunity to take Bio 1 with Mr. G, absolutely register for the class. The material can absolutely be hard if you do not apply yourself to the studying and effort that this class takes. (Ask all the questions you can!) He is also a very genuine person that cares for the field of biology!

not an easy class but no science class is. offers a LOT of extra credit. open office hours & lots of help like practice tests, study guides, helpful handouts, etc. responds back fast & is there to help but you have to apply yourself. being able to study outside of class and absorb every single lecture & the material is key for passing this class.

If you don't do well on the first 2 exams the only grade you can get is a C. Nice guy but exams make up almost the entire grade

You'd be doing a disservice to yourself by not taking G's class. He is very meticulous in how he teaches and none of the concepts are hard, you just have to study. Super accessible outside of class. He definitely pushed me as a student, which I have no complaints about. If you put in the time to study, you can easily score 90%+. He's awesome!

Professor G is passionate about biology and genuinely wants students to succeed. The class is challenging but manageable with hard work. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep.

Professor Galicia, is a great professor but sometimes can be nit picky with some of your responses on lab packets/prompts. He does give extra credit opportunity and provides study guides/study exams that honestly help a lot especially for lab exams. You definitely have to study and pay attention during lectures because he goes fast or sidetracks.

I had Mr. G for General Biology this past fall, and he was so understanding and amazing. He gives great feedback, has genuine care for his students, and gives plenty of opportunities for them to succeed. I would recommend going to office hours and studying for exams a lot because that was my personal downfall. Overall amazing professor!

Professor G is a great, take him! He is passionate about Bio, with that, his lectures/labs are done well as he is thorough. But you do have to put in your own efforts outside of school to pass! He gives you a textbook online, but I've never utilized it as the info is nicely tought. YouTube is a great study resource (aside from note taking)!

To be honest I was really scared of science classes before I took him. He made bio super easy to understand but you still have to study to full comprehend the test. Test are very lecture heavy so pleaseeee study and if you do everything will be okay. Super helpful always replied to your emails. Honestly best teacher I've had hands down.

the best bio professor!!! really easy and you can tell he's really passtionate about biology. As long as you attend his lectures, take notes, and study for a good amount of time, you should be good. he does extra credit, really easy you just go on a nature walk lol and he'll go with the class too, he's very involved in the class. + he a baddie

Great professor, clearly passionate about biology. Explains well but can be impatient with basic questions. Readings and labs are dense, if you don't study on your own, you'll fall behind. Offers helpful resources like YouTube videos and extra credit activities. Be ready to dedicate a lot of time, even if it means neglecting other classes.

Mr. G is awesome. Obviously, if you don't study on your own, skip the readings, or don't put in the time, you're not going to do well. If you're thinking about taking this class, my advice is simple: READ. Don't waste your time thinking it's easy. If you want to be the best and actually learn, STUDY.

The standard professor, cares about what he teaches and takes his students seriously! But due to his passion, he does NOT hold back on lectures. This is a science course, so it'll be a battlefield if you don't prioritize his class. He's all business but is charismatic and humorous here and there so the atmosphere balances. GOOD LUCK, study hard!

In-depth lectures are provided, self-advocacy is encouraged, and sending summaries are emphasized. This class is not easy and can be overwhelming, but the professor always aims for the best with his teachings and to better help students. Can seem hard to approach sometimes but he doesn't bite. Will get back to you asap and has great responses!

There are 4 unit exams, but the third one is the hardest since it dives heavily into genetics and DNA. Each consist of multiple topics so study well, and the professor can/will help you also. There is occasional extra credit activities so do take advantage of them! Keep all lab packets too for lab quizzes/exams since they're just as important.

Throughout the course there will be 4 MC Exams (Per Unit) and 2 Free Response Lab Exams (Midterm + Final) with mini quizzes during the beginning of the labs. Extra credit opportunities are offered throughout the term, do take advantage of these as they may help with your grade. He does well with emailing back and giving feedback on summaries.

He is an excellent professor who is dedicated to student success. Although he may seem strict at first, he is supportive and well-prepared. He provides thorough course materials, values attendance and engagement, and offers extra credit opportunities to help students succeed.

Review, review, review! You will be expected to keep up with the material every week so don't slack off. HOW you study matters. You really need self discipline for this course. Professor can seem a little intimidating, but he's all tough love. He really prepares you for future courses. LOVED HIM, amazing lectures, and amazing person.
