Not good at teaching!!! Get out of his class, his writing is horrible and has a very hard time pronouncing words correctly. He also doesn't explain things at all. He expects you to know everything before you get to class. Do not take his class!
He takes a while to get use to, but is more than willing to help you understand. There's no way to make organic chem easy. Just study and do the work.
organic chem is tough as it is, let alone a prof that can not say certain words...however he is willing to help.
the class is extreamly hard but he will do anything to help you. He gives good notes and lectures are very helpful. Also read the text.
Awesome prof! The class is very difficult and moves very fast. This class requires a lot of studying but he is always willing to help. I would definitely recommend him over any other chem prof.
The best CHM professor by far. Organic sucks and there is no way you can get out of studying no matter what prof you have. But He goes out of his way to help you and always has practice problems which are very useful on tests and quizes.
I LOVE THIS GUY! I'd take the class all over again just to have him teach me! He's VERY helpful, very intelligent, and truly cares about his students. On top of all that, he'll even talk about the Bachelor with you. What more do you need?
He's a good lab prof - does everything he can to make you understand how to do things and what is going on. Take him for lab if you can, he's cool.
Prof. Ngassa is awesome. Very helpful and gives good lectures with notes. Gives practice problems which are helpful in the exams and quizes.
very good prof and helpful. always ready to answer questions. help sessions are very helpful.
makes lab fun and interesting. one of the best lab prof. i have ever had.
He goes out of his way to hold help sessions every week, and is ALWAYS willing to help. It's a tough subject, be prepared to study a lot, but if you ask for help you'll get it!
He's So awesome....I just thought he was so funny, at first I wasn't sure about him, but he was new I think. he's so funny, and he cracks jokes all the time and helps no matter what it takes. He makes the material much less intimidating.
He is very hard to understand. He is very smart but lacks on the teaching part. also a very hard class.
very good prof. i failed the first exam and was going to give up but he encouraged me to continue. with help sessions and practice exam i brought my grade to a C+. Hard class but he is very helpful.
Hands down, the best professor you'll ever have. He goes out of his way to ensure students do well. I am terrible at chem, but I did well in his class. He's also a nice dresser and hansome taboot.
He was a little shakey in the begining but as the semester went on he became more open to slowing down to the students pace. Very approachable. Held extra help sessions. Made organic easy yet you still learned it. Best lab instructor.
At first he was a little scary. very helpful, offered weekly study sessions. his accent makes him a bit hard to understand, and quizes can be hard but overall a good guy. stick with him and you'll do okay.
You'll enjoy going to class, and laugh almost everytime. He is very friendly, and doesn't even mid if you come in to office hours with stuff other than chemistry. he accent is very minimal, and i had no problem at all understanding him.
He is a really cool guy. Lectures turn into a race to see how much he can cover in 50min. Tests are pretty difficult, but he is a good prof to take.
Funny, approachable, understandable, will work with class pace, and you might just stop dreading going to chemistry all together.
I don't know about not dreading going to Chem anymore....this class is very difficult. I study every night and still can't seem to keep up. He is a really nice guy though and will help if needed.
BAD!! He goes through the material so fast you have no time to catch up. gets frusterated when the class is confused and is not much help. I would definately NOT reccomend. He teaches this intro course as if we already know that material. GET OUT
let's be honest, organic is difficult but this guy is very helpful and considerate. No matter who you take, you have to study alot for this course. He gives practice problems all the time and help session. i recommend him.
Always willing to help and gives practice problems. I like the help sessions, please keep on doing it.
He's an okay professor. He knows his stuff very well and attempts to make this as easy as possible but the course is difficult, especially if you change your major and this class is completely irrelavent. Must do a lot of outside work to undestand.
He is great for lecture and for lab. Course material is tough, but he is very helpful...practice problems, practice tests, and study sessions...use them! He is genuinely concerned with students' progress and enjoys the material, which is refreshing.
SO FINE.. SO FINE.. HE BLOWS MY MIND.. LOL
Organic chemistry is very hard, but Dr. Ngassa made it as easy to understand as he could. He gave practice exams, practice problems, and help sessions. You know you have a good prof when he meets with the class at 7:30 pm to answer questions!
I hate chemistry but he made me not hate it so much. He is the most helpful prof I have ever had. He wants his students to do well...he's a very nice guy. I highly recommend him...he's handsome as well:)
i really didn't understand what he wanted on the lab reports. his comments were not that helpful. and he graded harder than the other instructors from what i hear so i thought that was unfair. he is a pretty nice guy though
Probably the only Professor I've had in a lecture hall that knew all of his students. He's very interested in the well being of his students. Very helful, and tells you exactly what to expect on exams.
Bad instructor if you dont like chemistry. He expects all his students to be like chemistry majors. He gets mad if you ask simple questions. Hard to get even a B in this class.
He is a very good professor. Always willing to help and gives practice exams. Those who complain are those who are always disturbing in class. Very nice guy.
Very hard prof... gets mad at simple questions. He does know everyones name but he goes so fast. It doesnt bother him that all the test averages are in the 50's... orgo is hard and he makes it hard to pass
He is hard to get along with but once you understand his madness you'll learn to respect him and he'll do the same to you. He is a hard teacher but he teaches the material very well. Thinks everyone is a CHM major and can get annoying sometimes with that but still is a great teacher.
the best chem prof i have ever had, very interesting and is extremely interested in knowing and helping his students in any way he can, i took this class before and his class was much easier than the other one. if i had it to do over, I would make sure i got him again
He shook my hand and said it was a priviledge having me after the final. WOW. He is awesome. VERY hard grader, look for same diagrams on tests and quizes. Practice exams are the same as tests. From Africa and is the nicest person you will ever meet. Lives in Lansing commutes everyday for his family.
Very organized and knows his stuff. However, he made me feel really stupid. I felt nervous to ask him ?'S bc he acted annoyed when ppl didn't understand what he was trying to explain. If you are great in chm ngassa will be fine, but if you need a professor's help to get through, find someone else!
Very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Grades quizzes and exams faster than I ever saw. Nice guy too.
who gave felix a hot tomali cause im sorry but he just isnt.. i went into class looking forward to this hot prof..ha
He is a nice prof. I enjoyed having him. He is a little hard to understand at first. He can sometimes be hard to follow, but willing to help you out. Ask questions and he will assist you. His tests could be difficult at times, but not horrible.
Hard to understand cause he is from africa but it get easier as u go on. Sometimes he can be a complete jerk but in the end he knows his stuff and if u ty hard u will do ok
He is from africa but that is not an issue to me. I was able to understand him fine. he was very helpful, gave practice exams and extra credit quizzes. You have to get to know him and will find that he is amazing. I absolutely recommend him.
I enjoyed his class. Organic is hard but he was very helpful.
Felix is a very cute professor!Organic is a tough subject, but if you go to him, he is very eager to help you out.He is very knowledgable and great with the material.
By far the best professor I've had here. He's very knowledgeable and clear. He wants students to do good and spends massive amount of hours in his office. Very nice guy and he dresses very well.
Chm 241 is nothing to dread if you take ngassa and study. Has a great sense of humor. He is definitely looking out for the best interest of the student.
he is awesome study practice exams and u got it! An A that is! My favorite prof, hes a great mentor! African dialect is awesome and he is just fine to understand. Dont be hard on him, hes great! QUIZES ARE HARD. STUDY FOR THEM ESPECIALLY! thats why i got a B b/c of them!
Going in, I thought this course was going to be the hardest I've ever encountered, but it wasn't. Exams were tough, but very fair. He prepares the students well. Very friendly, funny, a nice guy. I'm looking forward to CHM 242 with him.
Awesome
Great Prof, fun class.Has a ton of office hours, makes learning the material easier as he types his own notes(all you have to do is follow along and fill in details).Show up to class and lab, take good notes, study practice exams and old quizzes and you are guaranteed a B.Put in some extra effort and an A is definitely attainable. Highly Recommended.
Definitely one of my favorite professors here. Class is challenging, exams can be tough, but if you read the text and study from the notes, you should do fine. It was an enjoyable year (241 and 242).
A wonderful teacher for a subject as potentially difficult as organic chemistry. He's a very laid-back guy...lacks quirks (like a lot of science profs). He's very to-the-point. I had to take CHM 242 over..and I benefited SO much from taking it with him.
By far the best prof i have had at GVSU. He cares so much about his students so if you put forth effort he will make sure you pass the class. always available for extra help in office hours or his own free time. organic chem is hard but i couldnt have asked for a better prof. DEFINATELY recommend taking him if you can!
Felix is the best. Everyone loves him and there isn't one student who would rather take 241 and 242 with any other professor! He is by far the best professor I've ever had, and I'm a super senior! It's your own loss to not take organic with Felix. Like I said, he's the BEST!
Dr. Ngassa is the best professor I have had at GVSU. Read the notes and understand them. This class can be very easy if you keep up with the chapters. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
AWESOME PROFESSOR!!! he makes chemistry great. he gives you hints for the tests and is SO helpful. I cant wait to take him for 242!
He is the best professor I have had at GVSU. He keeps you on track and engaged through the entire semester. If you can have him as a professor TAKE HIM
Ngassa is by far the BEST professor I have ever had for any class, much less organic. He cares so much about his students and wants everyone to do well. He is easy to understand. Just read the notes and go to class, do the worksheets and homework and you will be fine. AWESOME prof. Take him if you can.
He is the greatest prof in the Chemistry Dept. If you want to learn and get a good grade in Orgo...take Ngassa!!!! He cares so much about his students, it's amazing. I have never seen a prof care so much about his/her students. Take him :))))
Lie, cheat, or steal to get into his class.. whatever you have to do. Not only will you truly learn more than you thought possible, you will also have the best experience ever. It will require work on your end, but if you dedicate yourself to learning orgo Dr. Ngassa will show you the way. He truly cares. Take him.
The best professor GVSU has. Do the practice tests and worksheets and you will do fine!!!
Ngassa is by far my favorite prof at this university so far...maybe even out of all schools i've gone to. He is more than willing to go out of his way to help everyone, and always makes everything as simple as he can. The exams and quizzes are right off the worksheets and practice tests, and he is super nice.
He is the best prof for this class. He is flexible, fair, and really cares about all of his students. Follow the lecture notes that he posts and you will do great. It still takes a lot of out of class studying but he's very clear about what to study for exams.
ngassa is awesome! i was not looking forward to taking his class AT ALL because i had heard organic was incredibly hard but he made it as easy as he could. he is clear on what to study and he gives practice tests that are basically the exams. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!!!!!
He is truly interested in making sure his students are learning. He provides extra office hours and study sessions throughout the semester. His exams are very similar (if not from) his practice exams and previous quizzes. Though Orgo is not that interesting Prof. Ngassa kept me interested in the class. If you have to take Chem 241, take Ngassa!
His accent is a bit difficult to understand, especially in an 8am lecture, and i ended up teaching myself a lot of the material. If you can memorize answers from previous worksheets and practice exams, you'll pass. Really tough class, take advantage of his study sessions and extra credit.
Accent is not a problem. You get used to it. He is the most helpful prof I have had at GV. He is even able to adjust dates for quizzes and exams. definitely take him for orgo at 8 am.
Ngassa is AWESOME. He is by far the best professor I've EVER had! He wants his students to learn so bad. He does whatever he can to help you and understands that Orgo is hard. Listen to the things he tells you to study and don't waste your time on the rest. He will teach you everything that is necessary. B/c of him this year was amazing!!!
I don't think you need my comment to see that he is awesome. Totally my hero. He is so much fun, very energetic and happy all the time. His class is difficult. 2 easy tests, 2 hard ones. Problem sets are hard, but he offers extra credit and will go out of his way to help you or just to chat. Also amazing in lab. Oh, and soccer game at the end!
I studied my butt off and still struggled. I went to his office in 241 and learned my lesson after the 4th time. He's not very helpful if you are not a favorite. Tests are easy, if you can memorize things and be ok with it. He doesn't explain why very well. Problem sets just add unnecessary work and very hard.
Professor Ngassa is great for orgo. I don't care what you say, he is the best. He spends a lot of his time with students making sure they learn. He even encourage people to come and ask questions by providing candy in his office.
Ngassa is AWESOME. He was very helpful. Definitely take him if you want to enjoy orgo.
The Best professor I ever had! He cares so much for his students! He really takes the time to help you and get to know you. It is not an easy class, work hard, ask questions. I had him for both 241 and 242, He keeps you interested and he offers extra credit points! Don't memorize answers, study reactions!
The best professor I've had hands down. I have never met someone as personable as him. He knows all of his students by name (appx 129 of them). Very enthusiastic about the material and ultimately wants everyone to succeed! Ultimately a nice guy, and he made a difficult subject very doable. TAKE HIM if you want to succeed in Orgo! Great job, Ngassa!
He is the best professor at Grand Valley. If you have to take Organic Chemistry, the only way you can get a good grade is by taking Ngassa. He really cares about everyone doing well and learns everyones name in a 100 student lecture. TAKE NGASSA
Professor Ngassa is an amazing person. His class requires a lot of time and effort but if you put the time in you will be rewarded. Tests are difficult but highly related to notes. Extra credit was offered. This class is very challenging but he is super enthusiastic about teaching and cares about his students. Best orgo professor at GV
Dr. Ngassa is the most charismatic guy I know. How can you not like this guy? Highly recommended.
he's a terrible teacher. nice guy. the exams/quizzes are impossible unless you're willing to make chemistry your life...10+ hours/week is what he expects. i got a 97% in inorganic...and struggled to pass this class. studying was terrible, because you have to pretty much figure everything out on your own. TAKE MORRIS!!! had her for lab...she's great
no. No. NO. NONONONONO. don't take him. you will pull your hair out and hate your life for the whole semester.
Yes orgo is hard but he devotes so much time to help answer questions and plus he is a good teacher. He also has study sessions and extra office hours before exams. He has great lecture notes too. You may not even need the textbook.
Ngassa is an excellent chemistry prof. If you hear people complaining about his class or teaching style, it's because they're too lazy to put in the effort the course requires. Orgo is a difficult course no matter WHO teaches it; Ngassa breaks things down in a manageable and thorough way. If you want a good grade, you have to keep up with the work
Organic chem is intrinsically hard (esp if your not a chem major). This prof is AWESOME! He is fair with grading, intersting to listen to, and very helpful. Take this prof, he is great!
He's hard at the beginning but towards the end he starts loosening up and pretty much gives 10/10s on quizzes if you show up. put in the work and you will pass, don't let your grade in the begnning stress you out, just KEEP GOING, even if you think you're gonna fail. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK, you will never use it.
Ngassa cares about his students. He will learn everyones name within the first week of class. Orgo is challenging, but he makes it doable. He is really helpful if you go to office hours. Great Prof!
Great Prof! Highly recommend this guy. The class and material are difficult, but easily doable if you put some time towards it. This guy is so nice. Anyone who doesnt give him a good rating is just bad at chemistry and frustrated so they blame it on the prof.
Ok professor. Thought he was going to be better. Personally he was never that nice to me so he may play favorites. Was very curt and unfriendly in emails making it hard to approach him through email. Nicer in person but never seemed to have much patience. Problem sets are a waste of time and he tends to assign them right before exams.
Ngassa is the best when it comes to chemistry. His expectations are very clear and his notes and lectures are very organized. The material is difficult and his exams tend to be rough but I would highly recommend him to anyone. He's the best chem professor by far. He truly cares about his students and his effort shows in his class.
Awesome professor!! Lectures are fast-paced, and it is recommended that you go everyday or you miss a lot. He is funny and makes the class fun because he is so interested in his subject. If I would have taken him for chm 241, I would have aced the ACS, because his exams are written very similarly. Loved this class
Ngassa was an excellent professor!! Probably the best I've had at grand valley. He had a lot of quizzes and problem sets, but it made me keep up with the material so i was well prepared for all of his exams. He also did a great job preparing our class for the ACS, which i found to be easier than his other exams. I would definitely recommend him!!
Had him for 241/242 for 2010-11. Great professor and snappy dresser. Very organized and gives typed notes to fill in during lecture! Problem sets are difficult and he tends to assign them right before an exam which is inconvenient. Tests are fair and not exceedingly difficult. Gives extra credit for holidays! Take him for orgo!!
AWESOME professor. Gives you typed notes that you really just have to fill in during class. Everything he goes over in class will be on the exams, but there are no surprises. Make sure you go to class, and you will do fine in the class. If you want to do well in orgo, take Ngassa!
Very hard class. But he is the best guy to teach it.
Awesome professor. Kind of intimidating, and he has high expectations, especially if you are a chemistry major. You shouldn't skip at all...he bases his quizzes and tests primarily off of his notes. Rarely, if ever used the textbook. Awesome prof, difficult class, if you want to learn orgo, do yourself a favor and take Ngassa if at all possible.
Great Professor. The course is what is hard. The exams are incredibly difficult(class averages of 65%). Dr. Ngassa is a great guy and even better professor. Truly passionate about the subject and eager to help students. This class is hard but he makes it fun to learn.
He is a great professor, and has truly invested his time into his students to help us all learn the material. The class in itself is hard, and his tests to feel a lot like a gigantic trick, but if you study hard and USE THE BOOK, the class is easier. ALOT OF TIME MUST BE SPENT STUDYING
Dr. Ngassa was a difficult professor, no doubt about it. But this is also a very difficult course. He explains everything in an understandable manner, and is more than happy to help you if you need it. His office hours are also very open and allows you to get solid help outside of lecture. Overall, Dr. Ngassa is challenging, but well worth taking
Great prof. The course material is very challenging, and he expects a lot of work from his students. But he will reward hard work and help you through everything if you need it. Take him if you can.
This is an incredibly challenging class. Dr. Ngassa does an excellent job of explaining the information though. There are times he would forget to teach the class something and that stunk as it would appear on an exam. Overall though he is a nice guy and wants to see students who really put in the effort succeed. Test averages were very low.
Great professor, definitely go to his office hours. This course is tough and he makes it as painless as possible. Offers lots of extra credit opportunities
I loved Professor Ngassa's class. He is really smart and knows what he is talking about. He explains things very clearly and is always willing to help. Definitely the best chem prof I've had at GV. He is very understanding and gave a lot of extra credit, at least 5 points was added to every exam. Definitely take him if you want to do well.
Organic chem is my biggest fear in my major (BMS) but Felix Ngassa was a genuine and understanding professor. The best in chem imo. His content is tough, but that factor is very necessary and he prepares you the best out of all other options! Extremely open, personable, and ready to help you. Go to his office hours often and enjoy a quality prof.
Honestly the best professor I've had at Grand Valley. He really makes sure you understand the material and pushes you to do your best. He's not only a great professor but a good person to get to know. I hated organic the first time I took it and now I actually enjoy it.
This class is tough. Ngassa is known for making it more of a challenge, but I honestly would take him over again in a heartbeat. He keeps you on your toes (study everyday), but is always available outside of class. Attending lecture is a must because his notes are fantastic. I wish I had more time to just chat with him.
Dr. Ngassa is a wonderful professor. This class is challenging and he expects a lot from his students. Attending lecture is crucial. Put in the work inside and outside of class and don't be afraid to ask questions.
I recommend to any Organic Chemistry students to take Ngassa. He is so knowledgeable and a great professor. You have to put work in and study, it's not an easy course, but he is the guy you want in your corner while tackling this subject.
Absolutely take him for both semesters if you can, he's the best!
He's not the worst but definitely not the best orgo prof. He really knows his stuff which is reassuring but I personally don't like the way he taught. I retook orgo after having him as my prof the first time around and didn't learn/understand half the things he was trying to teach due to his approach. He kind of threw a bunch of information at you
Ngassa is such a great professor. He has note outlines for class that are extremely helpful for studying. You have to understand the material completely to do well on the exams. He doesn't spoon feed you and makes it challenging. He respects his students and actually enjoys teaching. Wonderful office hours and very approachable.
organic chemistry is a difficult class, but Ngassa is an amazing professor. He is very knowledgeable and makes himself available everyday for office hours. He gives great feedback on quizzes and questions and wants to make sure you are actually learning what is taught.
I tried multiple times to go out and seek help from him, but his office hours were always packed. I didn't understand the material, so i asked him for separate times we could meet and he seemed to be annoyed with the "easy" questions i was asking him. He also couldn't tell me alternate ways to study.
I really enjoyed his class!! Yes, it was really hard, but I was expecting it to be hard. If you study well and put time into the class I'm sure you'll do well. His grading is fair but he does tend to put questions on tests that I haven't seen before because he likes to challenge you.
This class was very difficult, and it would have been so much harder without Dr. Ngassa's teaching. He goes through the material fast, but provides you with plenty of ways to practice with group worksheets, lots of quizzes which can really help your grade, and practice exams. He makes it so you actually KNOW the material, rather than memorizing
What people care about: got a D on the first 2 tests, B on the third, A on the fourth, D on the final and ended with a B+. He drops your lowest test, gives out easy extra credit, and he will never admit to it but he rounds the class heavily and on the syllabus an 84 is a b+. You should take him.
Awesome professor but an extremely challenging course. Exams are very tough and the class average was usually around the mid to high sixties. However, this professor wants his students to succeed and is willing to provide help outside of class to achieve that
Ngassa is the best professor I have had GV. He takes the time to get to know his students and makes sure they are understanding the material rather than just memorizing it. It is a tough class but Ngassa makes it fun. There are lots of quizzes that help you with your grade - he take the top ten scores. Worst exam grade is dropped and lots of ec
Very tough material but certainly one of the best professors I've ever had. As long as you're willing to put in the work, you'll get the grade you want. This professor is also accessible outside of class to help clear up any tough topics
Prof Ngassa is the best professor I have ever had. He tries to teach the tough material as easy as possible. His notes are typed and you just have to fill them in. He is VERY organized. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He is the type of prof you stay in touch with after passing the class! He is great!
Dr Ngassa was a great professor that cared about his student's success. The tests are quite hard so it is important to keep up and truly understand the material.
He honestly can't teach. He does everything one way, can't or refuses to elaborate. Ends up curving heavily, but you won't understand anything. He thinks he is a great teacher. Tends to ill questions from places unknown. Also does his best to make you feel like an idiot when the problem is him. I have cried many times from the way he has treated me
It was a summer Orgo class for 6 weeks so it was tough but he was very helpful. He uses Top Hat and I like it.
He is an amazing professor. He cares about teaching and helping you understand as much as possible. He is a tough grader but organic chemistry is difficult like that. He will give you so much of his time to help you outside of class, he really goes above and beyond. There are a lot of quizzes and participation points, so just be on top of those!
He can't teach whatsoever. Relied on Chegg to pass this class. He makes you feel horrible if you ask a question, going on about stuff that doesn't make sense. Don't even try asking a question in this class because he will go in circles forever. If you want a teacher who doesn't teach just from looking at the book, this isn't your guy.
Orgo is hard but Dr. Ngassa is a great prof.
Ngassa was a very kind person but a bad ochem professor. He made the content more difficult than needed, taught above the levels of 241. Every exam had spectroscopy in it because he liked it. The final exam score average was a 54%. Ngassa wrote the tophat textbook, but cannot teach the material. Very accessible outside of class, but not helpful.
Dr. Ngassa is a good choice; he's friendly, answers questions, listens to student feedback (u have to SPEAK up or he WILL keep going w or w/o you). The problem is the exams had avgs of 60-70% and dont seem to reflect the lecture content appropriately p.s idk if its a orgo thing but it felt like survivor. Prepare tissues and maybe therapy after this
Would not take him even if I was about to graduate and he was the only option. I am honestly confused how he has a 4.3 on RMP. He made me hate chemistry and school. 4 exams per semester and one was dropped which is nice but you will need it. exam averages were between 50-60% and 70 on a GOOD day. Do not recommend to my worst enemy.
Ngassa knows hiss stuff and wants the students to do well. If you are lazy and not ready to put in the work, his class will be very tough for you. I had a great experience having him and did well because of his help. All the negative comments are probably people who did not put in the time or did not to know the prof. He is very helpful.
Professor Ngassa is a great professor and mentor. He wants students to learn and is willing to help students outside of class. This class is difficult, but if you put in the work outside of class and participate during lectures then you will be successful.
I don't think I would take Ngassa again if he were my only option to graduate. I was so lost throughout the whole semester. 4 exams and the final with a single question worth 48 points on each exam, no wonder the class average is usually between 50-60%. Chem is not my strong suit but Ngassa made me drown in that class.
Had Ngassa for both lecture and lab, and he is probably the most condescending professor I have had. He gets impatient when you don't understand something immediately. He is unapproachable in lab, and at one point got mad at multiple students because we weren't taught something in 241. Ochem is difficult as it is, but Ngassa made it miserable.
Although he was a good guy, it was very difficult being in his class. There were many assignments that were constantly changing when/if they were due including the exams. He also crammed the already accelerated six week class into five weeks which caused us to have an exam 2 days before the final.
Had him for an accelerated summer course for both lab/lecture. He focused primarily on his fellowship and rarely participated in lab. Got extremely frustrated with students when things were not done his way. Yelled at another prof in front of class over the yellow lab pages. Moved the exams around last minute. Great in his field, not at teaching.
Dr. Ngassa is a great professor and cares about his students. I am not sure why there are so many negative comments from a summer class. I was in the summer class and did well because of his help. Will definitely take him again.
I don't go to GVSU, only came for a summer course and Ngassa was amazing, very thorough, good listener, rough around the edges for some specific asks, but still a very good professor and better than the school's I originally attend.
