This guy is blunt! He takes away 30 points off your grade if you don't show up for the class and he has the biggest smile in his face when he does this. He also says that he wakes up early to be in class at 8 am. Yea right, he comes right on the dot of 8:15 am, and makes you wait there.

Aside from being a fast talker, I like him overall. He's funny and makes the class more interesting than it really is. I really like how he makes his own powerpoints for us to print out and use as notes b/c that really helps. Everything he tests us on is from the notes, and he only tests us on important things. He doesn't want us to get lost in the "forest" aka the book lol.

Just beware, you will come out of the lab room smelling like dead bodies...but aside from that, he really didn't do much, he just gives you lists of terms you need to identify while he sits in his office. There are 3 exams, which are really easy if you study!!!!!!!!!!!

His class is easy with no midterm or final. Slackest sls teacher on campus. Attendance is mandatory. If you miss one class you practically fail. He is late every class and he cancelled class on us twice, which is ironic bc he stresses attendance and getting there on time.

This guy is amazing! He doesnt use the book, only makes you print out power points from the book. He wants to intimidate you the first day, but once you get past that hes extremely funny and not to mention we only had class once a week! Besides that if you dont understand something he'll explain it to you until you do. I would take him for nething!

I have had him for PCB 2099/L and ZOO 3731/L. He is easy and is true to his word when he says he only tests from his lecture notes. He is also very helpful in lab when asked to clarify anything.

I had him for SLS and it was the easiest thing i have ever done in my life... you go and he tells you what to do and then leaves. The only time you stay for the whole class is if you have a guest speaker.. No essays or anything like that but if you dont show up you get -25 pts from your grade so GO TO CLASS

I had Gomez for both anatomy & physiology classes/labs. At the time I thought it was great that the classes were so easy but now, I realize I was at a disadvantage. I do not have a good grasp of either subject and, as a result, have to teach myself many things when I come across them now in my major.

He is a very cool guy once you have had him for a while. I had him for ZOO lab and i have him now for PCB and ghe is great. He knows what he is talking about and is very staright forward in his lectures and test. So as long as you study you will do fine.

I only had him for the ZOO lab & it was very straight forward. Spelling counts. He's kinda weird but in a funny way and he definitely knows his stuff. I'd take him again.

Gomez is super straight . He does not take attendance but everything that is on the test is from his class notes . Some people might say he is rude but he is honest and he knows is someone went to class or not . I personaly recomend him for Anatomy and Physiology.

Prof Gomez seems very laid back but he is not. He doesn't take attendance but almost everything he says in class will be on the test which has no surprises at all, memorize the power points.

I hd this professor during the summer from anatomy lecture and lab. Professor uses power point and adds additional information to them during the lectures. If you study this information you should have no problem passing the class. The 2nd exam is the hardest, so study extremely hard! The third exam grade is doubled, so the final is optional.

He is an awesome professor. He is very energetic and knows the material. He can be rude but in a funny way, plus he tells it like it is and if yiu get offended is because he's right. I took anatomy lab with him. simple and to the point. go to lab and use the book to match the body parts to their names. 2 exams- look at 40 body parts and name them. he's helpful if he knows your trying your best. i got an A easily just by doing what you're supposed to and studying. not hard at all. i recommend taking pictures of the body parts.

If you are one of those students who likes professors to actively teach a he is not for you. You have to do a lot of reading yourself if you want to learn something and pass the exams. You must go to lecture as many of te things he says at not in the book. It is not that hard to get an A.

Don't believe the negative comments. He is very funny and makes anatomy fun to learn. He is very intelligent and gives you a great deal of chance to pass his class with a descent grade. Go to class everyday. Study all of his notes and you will get an A. The only thin I don't like is he does not give pluses or minus just straight grades.

Don't buy the expensive book. All of the notes are on his website. Just study all of his notes plus the ones he adds in lecture and you will get an A. Save your money.

Best professor ever! Everything in the quizzes is straight from his notes and what he says in class. Finishes lab very quickly. Those that said that his quizzes are different from what he says will be on it, just aren't paying attention in class. He isn't exactly a 'hard' professor. The first two exams aren't easy so STUDY. The next two are much easier. Attend the lectures! He's very clear in his lectures. Prof Gomez is an excellent professor. I have had him for a total of 5 classes now and can tell you he is great. He is very straightforward, NO BS. If you study you will pass, no questions asked. I have had him for Anato and Labs, Physio and Labs and Microbiology. Go to class everyday, look up things that arent clear in the book n you will pass.

This professor is the only one I have come across FIU that ACTUALLY TEACHES! Great class and his exams are off his notes. Tricky questions but easy if you STUDY. Funny, interactive, very smart. Worth it.

he tells you from the first day that he teaches med school anatomy & regular anatomy & holds all his students to the same expectations. The class & lab require a lot of studying and dedication. His exams are tricky, but manageable. He's a great professor & you really learn a lot from the course & about how professional school will be.

Go to every class, record his lctres listen to them again and wrte dwn anythng you missed then go through and undrstnd EVRYTHNG in the notes nd what he said in class. Do this nd you'll be fine. He's one of my favorite professors at FIU nd the only one I know that can keep a class interest and make them laugh for almost three hours.

This professor is hilarious he will make you laugh so much making the 6:40am class less painful. His exams are not easy you must study a lot if you want an A you have to start studying for his exams since day one they are no joke but if you study hard you will do good on his exams because its solely based on his notes and what he says in class.

Great professor loved the teaching style and enthusiasm. Very funny and entertaining as well as applicative. Learned so much, best anatomy course. Material is alot so dont get behind, read ahead and take own notes before.

STAY AWAY. the material is not that hard to understand its the way he formats it on his exams. He thinks hes teaching a MED school class and he tries to change everyones thoughts about nursing. you do learn a lot in his course but he pushed all 3 test into the last two weeks of school which sucked! 4 exams in total.

You cannot slack off in this class and you must study the images every week and not wait 'till the last minute. Prof. Gomez will expect more maturity since this is a upper division lab. Pay close attention and take notes. There are two practicals: a midterm and a final. I ended up with a 97% and a 99% so I got an A in the lab.

I learnt more Histology with Gomez in his once a week 1hr long lab than I ever did with Terreros in her lectures. The lab exams are very easy. Write down everything he says in class. All you have to do is be able to recognize the figures he puts on the test. He is super funny & one of the best teachers at FIU. I'd take him again in a heartbeat.

Crystal clear and structured class. All tests are MC. They're tough, but he gives you everything you need to succeed, word for word -- you just have to study. Answers any questions after lecture. Great sense of humor. I left the class feeling twice as smart as I did beforehand. Can only speak for myself, but his teaching style is perfect for me.

His class was exactly was structured in a perfect way. He really gives you all of the answers to the tests in his lectures, it is up to you to study however. I recommend taking him. He has a rude sense of humor but the class was enjoyable.

This professor is engaging and challenges his students. If you want to learn, this is the class for you. If you're not going to put the time and effort to take good notes and study, don't take this course. You will fail if you don't study, period. It's a tough class, but everything on the exam will be from what he covers IN CLASS. Not the power points, not the book, IN CLASS. Take a lot of notes, re-write the notes, and study hard and you'll pass. But it is a very hard class

Great professor. He knows what he is teaching and he loves teaching as well. Very funny and keeps you entertain the entire class. However the class is VERY difficult. You REALLY need to study like weeks before and review almost everyday. He doesn't reply to emails and PLTL don't help. The PLTL only counts to a 10% of your lower exam (not helpful)

Don't buy the book! When "transcribing" your notes, rewrite everything from the PPT and EVERYTHING he mentions in class, even silly stories. His tests are pretty easy. I studied the night before and a few hours before each exam and got an A every time. Test questions are directly from the lecture so DONT MISS CLASS. He's hilarious and I recommend.

One thing is very certain if you take Ferdinand Gomez for Foundations of Physiology: You WILL learn physiology. The class is very hard, but show up to class and take notes on EVERYTHING he says (no textbook needed)and pass. Very fun and entertaining professor, but yeah, he's hard. Though he says he doesnt, he may curve the grades at the end :D

Before taking this class I had no idea about anatomy but was able to pass the class with an A. As long as you read the chapters, ATTEND CLASS and take notes you will definitely pass. He basically gives you the answers to the test but you will need to make sure to understand what he's talking about. Not the best teacher when it comes to his persona.

Funny proffesor and a fun class but you have to study hard to do well. 2nd and 4th exams are the hardest. 4 non cumalative exams worth 25% each although last minute he doubled our highest exam grade thus the being 5 exams 20% each. Would recommend

He's a funny man and has a dry sense of humor so I was able to enjoy his class despite it being a night class. The book was useless because his tests were straight from his notes. TAKE GOOD NOTES! He's fair and curves. I didn't take PLTL and I turned out with a B+. Not impossible.

He is very knowledgable, The one thing I didnt like about his class is that he only gives 3 tests including the lab practical final! Your grade is made up of only this!! He is a great professor but you have to really work and study for your grade. The only grades in the class are four tests so be prepared to read and study. He does not take attendance so you do not have to come but that is only hurting you because he does not post all of his lectures online. THE TEST QUESTIONS COME FROM THE LECTURES

Prof Gomez was funny and an awesome lecturer. Went to class probably 4 times, a lot of his lectures were online videos. Attendance is not mandatory but it is imperative that you attend class as he lectures off his power points. 4 tests, no cumulative final. I will never, ever forget taking neuroscience with professor Gomez. First time I studied til my 'pericranium' bled. However, he warns us from the beginning that this isn't an easy class. It amazes me how many students don't take this class seriously and easily fail. Don't be one of those students! If you really want that A, NOTHING should stop you.

The class is 4 multiple choice exams. every exam he adds points based on who got the highest grade. he doesn't curve. His exams are straight from the lecture. To get an A you basically can only get As on the exams. Exam questions (75 of them) are NOT easy!!! I studied the day before and got Bs on everything so I guess for an A study more days.

I took this professor for neuroanatomy is the summer, and he was pretty straight forward with the material; however, this class requires a lot of study time, and if you are the type of person that studies the day before the exams; you will not pass. I would take him again, he is a great professor and really cares about his students.

The most impeccable anatomy teacher in FIU. No one compares. He teaches M1 and M2 students at the College of Medicine at FIU. A gifted professor who will do anything good for a student. He wants you to work hard. I got an A by going to class and studying daily

Only had 2 in class lecture, the rest of the semester he would sent out videos (up to 1h 30 min) every week, which I really liked because we can pause and take better notes. He explains everything really well, so as long as you take good notes of the video, class is extremely easy to pass. His also has a good sense of humor during in class lectures

Don't buy the textbook, the tests are based on what he says in his lectures. You absolutely must study to pass his tests! There are 4 exams and he'll sometimes curve them or drop the lowest grade if the class is doing well. No extra credit. He sends out video lectures to study from; only a few times where you'll have class meetings. PLTL offered.

This semester we met up face to face only twice for lecture and the rest were for exams. The rest of the lectures were given out online and are crucial for studying. When face to face the lectures are ran fairly quickly but if you print the powerpoints you're good to go. I don't do too well studying so I enrolled in PLTL and it helped out a lot.

His class was really late but most times he just sent a video lecture before which is really good because you can pause and take notes. Everything on the test is in his lectures. Study a day or two before his exams, and you should be good! Your grade is based off of exams only, but he drops the lowest one. I recommend him but you have to study.

Wonderful and Professional teacher for all pre Med and pre health majors. Predictable and straightforward! I have thoroughly learned and enjoyed his class and looking to take more classes by him! The most straightforward professor you will ever have at FIU. He's also the most appreciated professor because you will actually learn stuff unlike other professors. I can't emphasize enough how straightforward he is. You will know EXACTLY what to study for. Everything is on the syllabus so theres no need to ask stupid questions!

You barely go to class because all of the videos are online of his lectures, study for tests. 1st test is open book meaning you can check your notes. He is also super funny

His online lectures or in class lectures are exactly what his exams are composed of. Never even touched the book. Easy A

The best professor Ive had at FIU. His courses might as well be online because class is optional and all his lectures are online. His tests are reasonable, not hard. And hes hilarious!! I might take extra courses just to have him again.

Took Histology Spring of 2019, he uses online lectures (attendance not required), his exams are pretty much everything he mentions in the online lectures. This course is memorization heavy. There are 3 exams that I took, the 4th exam (not taken) is replaced by your highest score. Do not procrastinate, some lectures are 3 hr long & content heavy

Literally took him for histology, the lab, and physiology lecture all in the same semester. I dont think Ive ever learned more, I love his lectures! Very detailed, you must learn how to time manage and transcribe good notes. But his class really makes you learn. I feel like his teaching tactics are great. Great practice for DAT, mcat style exams

Exam content IDENTICAL to ppts. Lectures are recorded and posted online for students to view on their own time. If you take the time to watch them and take good notes, you will have NO problem on the exams. Offers PLTL as extra credit but you really won't need it. If you happen to attend class (which is NOT mandatory), he's hilarious! Recommend!

Best class I took all semester. Attendance is optional, I never went except for exams. Everything you need is in his lecture videos. Each exam was about 3-4 hrs of videos. More, if you stop to take notes (he will say things that aren't on the slides, which are where his questions come from). But, he gives you plenty of time. Straightforward.

One of the best professors I've come across at FIU. He is very straight forward about what he expects you to know. Attendance is not mandatory. He posts his lectures online and its your responsibility to transcribe your own notes. It does require some effort but it is a doable A. To fail this class you literally have to not be trying.

If you want an easy A, take him. All you need to do it study his video lectures. Only required to show up on test day. There are 4 tests, no final, so don't mess up your grade and bomb the first one. I'm not rating him a 5 though as his lectures are boring and not on YouTube, meaning you have to use a proprietary platform that sucks.

This is the easiest A ever. He gives 4 exams. You don't ever have to go to class unless you're going to take the exam. All his lectures are online and they're about an hour long each and everything he says on the videos will be on the exam. He even gives a study guide for each exam. The lab was harder than the lecture

Know all the information on his powerpoint slides. you should be good.

Great professor and a great class to take. You don't have to go to his lectures, you literally just show up for the tests. His tests are based completely off his online lectures, like seriously transcribe every single video and you will be fine. I didn't do better because I got lazy, but this class is minimal effort.

The class consists of 4 tests. If you have an A after the first 3 the last test is optional. Just study his lectures throughly and you will be fine. He doesnt lecture so his lectures are the videos he uploads on canvas. The tests are based completely off of those. Easy A.

4 exam lowest gets dropped.

Prof. Gomez is very clear in his expectations, his exams seem heavy but are very straightforward if you viewed and took notes of his lectures. He offers really cool cadaver labs I would recommend attending if you can during the semester and he's very dynamic. Definitely would take again.

Prof. Gomez has his old lecture videos up to watch for every topic of the week, but they are very outdated. His face-to-face classes were great and helpful for exam preparation. He is overall a funny/inspirational professor and I just wish he would put more effort into the course, but I can't complain. You would need to put in the effort to learn.

Listen to me when I tell you this was the easiest class I've ever had in my life. We only had two exams, each 40 questions long and they were online and taken at home. It's not lockdown browser, and he gives you a study guide and lecture videos to watch, which are practically word for word on the exam. If you want a chill professor, take him!

I am not exaggerating when I say this is one of the easiest classes I have taken, ever. The lectures are accessible online and you literally just have to study for tests. Interesting course and the professor gives you all the tools you need.

100% take this professor. not mandatory zooms weekly and no assignments just 2 non proctored exams. 10/10 really nice.
